We got to tour a gold mine today in Val D'Or. In addition to being out fitted in snazzy mining outfits with light up hats, we got to go 300 feet below ground and learn more about gold mining. After stopping for lunch down there, our awesome tour guide showed us FME types around some of the other things on the site. Adrien said I would be the guy in that poster drilling and smoking 😂 and the mannequin made me laugh. We also got to engage in feats of strength by trying to lift a model gold bar (weight 22kg.) Then there was a Lynchian man with a TV with a head who told us more about the mine. We saw mineral samples, and toured a heritage home in the town. Overall an INCREDIBLE experience 😊 so pleased to have had the chance to go. #fme2017 #valdor #gold #goldmining #heritage #heritagedesignation #history #education #learning #funday

After 3 hours of sleep, and 3 more flights, we are home. 😊 The first photo is one Adrien took out the window on our first flight where we got to see the sunrise above the clouds, it was truly incredible - like nothing I have seen before. The second picture is when we were flying into Winnipeg from Montreal, and you could see the patch work of the fields below. Last picture is Eddie after watching the Twin Peaks finale with us - I think he's just as tired as we are. 😉 He was so excited when we picked him up and then he promptly fell asleep in his kennel a few blocks later. 😂 Early bed for all three of us tonight! #fme2017 #travel #airtravel #sky #clouds #sunrise #prairies #dogsofinstagram #pomeranian #tired #bedtime

FME Day 3 part 1: Took a nice walk around lake Osisko, where we saw many ducks and a fountain. Supper at Le Cachottier where we had an excellent beer that was infused with tea. I had braised rabbit poutine with blueberry BBQ sauce, bacon, and chevre cheese (incredibly complex and sensationally delicious flavour profiles.) We also had pot au chocolat with sel de fleur for dessert - at which point I decided that I wanted to move to Quebec (it's a chocolate lover's heaven, among other things.) I concluded my meal with a Boreale Noire (also delicious) before we headed over to Evol-sion for a showing by Le Colour. FME Day 2 part two: we had an amazing supper at Le Trefle Noir including their delicious beer flight. Then we took in Makwa, a unique show by FME and Pow-wow Abitibiwinni that we both really appreciated. FME day one: (again swipe for more pictures) I stopped for incredibly cheap beer at IGA. I commanded some delicious poutine at Chez Morasse. I saw a banner with a hilarious bear pun. We some how managed to see both Andy Shauf and A Tribe Called Red despite them both playing at the same time (thank goodness for close venues) and both were AMAZING. Saw an adorable Boreale beer truck. Realized it's a lot colder here than it is in Saskatchewan - wasn't expecting that.
