Wrapping up The March 2021

Yesterday the Band Program hosted its sixth Florida Marching Band Championships regional. Originally the Tampa Bay Fall Music Games, the event was rebranded as The March in 2017 to coincide with the date falling on Veterans Day.

The regional is one of the Band Program's largest and most successful fundraisers every year and was also host to the FMBC's first iteration of the International Class when several South American marching bands competed in 2019. For the 2021 competition nine bands from Class 1A, 3A and 4A took to the field at J. Vince Thompson Stadium, including three-time grand champions Braden River High School and one-time grand champions Newsome High School.

In the end, the Marching Mustangs of Lakewood Ranch High School took home the top prize.

The event was a huge success for not only Lakewood Ranch, but the Band Program, as well—the money raised will go towards the band's final push to State Championships on November 21. We want to thank all of our amazing family volunteers who helps make the entire weekend possible! We could not do it without you!

Teremos uma grande área de convívio com um café para nos reunirmos aos domingos ou para fazermos as refeições nas noites de quarta-feira. A área de culto acomodará até 375 fiéis "muito confortavelmente" todos os domingos e até 475+ em ocasiões especiais. Localizado em Benton, KY, a Primeira Igreja Batista Missionária (FMBC) é um grupo incrível de pessoas que fazem um ótimo trabalho em sua comunidade, particularmente através de seu Ministério do Jardim. O crescimento de diferentes alimentos na propriedade é um dos temas centrais do design e ajudou a informar muito sobre a estética do edifício. Nossa equipe de design + construção trabalhará de perto com a FMBC nos próximos meses para ajudar a criar e modelar o design de modo que reflita o valor e o trabalho feito pela congregação.

Florida Marching Band Championship coming to Daytona Stadium

Riverview’s Marching Band named “Superior” for 18th Year, 10th Consecutive Year

Today’s performance at the Florida Bandmasters Association Marching Music Performance Assessment (MPA) at Bloomingdale High School was one for the record books. Marching MPA differs from other performances the Blue Coats give in that a score is not given—all bands participate for a rating from a panel of judges in the categories of music (with two judges), visual/marching and maneuvering, general effect, color guard and percussion. Every band receives a rating of either Superior, Excellent, Good, Fair or Poor. 

After their short rehearsal and warm-up, the Blue Coats took the field knowing that they had laid the foundation to come out on top—and they did. The band earned a Superior rating from all judges except one music judge who gave a rating of Excellent, for an overall rating of Superior. 

This Superior rating is the Riverview marching band’s 18th in its 23-year history and is also the 10th consecutive year of earning such a distinction. Additionally, the color guard earned its 14th consecutive Superior as a section. 

There are only two chances left to catch the Blue Coat Regiment’s 2021 program, “Look Up:” November 13 at their home show, the Florida Marching Band Championships (FMBC) regional, The March, and on November 21 at the FMBC State Championships at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala.
