Escape Route
Flynn Rider X Fem!reader
word count: 3k
A criminal breaks into your home for a desperate escape, but going along with his antics you may think there is more to the man than meets the eye.
It was a cold brisk morning, the sun barely peering through the cobbled mountains glazed with snow. You rise out of the warmth and comfort of your bed, thoughts of food flooded your brain. The floorboards creak with every step you take wondering towards the kitchen to fetch stew that has been brewing since your father left the home for the castle. You met the boiling pot with a grin, “Ah, pumpkin.” you stir the pot with the ladle that hangs off the side. You grab a porcelain bowl that was laid out for you on the counter, you lift it to reveal a note underneath. “My dearest daughter, your favorite bowl and stew for this brisk morning. Much love, Dad.”
You couldn’t help but smile wider as you held the note close to your heart. “I love you too dad.” you stared out the window looking at the town's folk amongst the town. The people who were wondering quickly became scurrying. Your face contorted with confusion, “what is..” you slowly wandered to your open shutters. Suddenly, with a thud, A man no more than 5’’9 falls in front of your feet. You let out a gasp and stumble back falling against the countertop and knocking over your favorite bowl, shattering across the floor. The man groaned and quickly lifted his head and placed his finger in a shush.
You quickly grab a piece of glass off the floor and point it to him.
“I’m not afraid! Get out of my house!” you yelped. The man began to plead “Shh! Shh!” He rose off the ground and quickly closed the shutters from the window he came from. “What are you..? Get Out!” you yelped again with more demand. The man peered through the shutters, kingdom guards running and knocking on doors. “Listen, we need to get out of here.” He said while looking out the shudders. “We? Who said we?” You lowered the porcelain glass. “I’m not going anywhere with you!” you yelled.
The man quickly rushed to cover your mouth in panic, his hands smelt like metal and tasted to match. You quickly pulled his hand from your mouth and as you raised your finger to lecture there was a bang on the door, followed by several more. “No! Don’t answer it!” The man whispered and pleaded again as he rushed behind the island in your kitchen. “You don’t tell me what I can and can’t do in my home.” you huffed, You opened the door to reveal a kingdom guard. “Yes, hello officer, how can I be of service?” you greeted the stocky man with a smile.
“I’m looking for a man, a thief perhaps. Looks like this” The guard showed a drawing of the man that broke into your home but with a stocky enlarged nose. “He goes by the name Flynn Rider.” You turn to look at the wanted man in your home, he was on his knees, flaring his lip, holding his hands together. You couldn't help but put a face of discomfort on. You turned to the guards that stood at the foot of your door. “No officers, I’m unsure of this man.” you said with a soft smile hoping to ward them away. “Is that so?” The stocky guard peered over your shoulder to see that same man on the floor in your kitchen quickly hide behind the island. “Yes, I do not know this man. You might want to look somewhere else. Good day.” You began to close the front door but it came to a halt.
You look down to see that same guard’s foot in the doorway. Your face turned pale, and thought to yourself why would you help this greasy man that was in your kitchen. In a panic you grabbed the fire place’s stoker and quickly stabbed the foot of the guard. There was a yell beyond the door, you quickly decided to make a run for it towards the back door and swing it open with a slam. The man in your kitchen stared “Come on!” you yelled with a motion of your hand, you didn't have to tell him twice. The man charged for the door to escape only to see the kingdom guards chasing him through the home. With a swift movement the hopeless man ran out and shut the back door using lumber beside the house to rest against it.
You Began to rush into town with your escapee, trying to catch your breath every few moments. The town in panic as you two ran through the bricked roads, a loose brick makes you tumble but with a swift movement the man you’ve helped takes your hand before you meet the stone brick. You continued to run, lifting your dress making it easier to pace yourself. You felt his hand in yours, tugging your arm. You couldn’t help it when everything seemed slow motion. You looked behind yourself and saw the kingdom’s guards chasing you, you whipped your head back.
“Are you alright?” The man spoke, you couldn’t understand what he was saying. Your heart began to race. Why you wondered, why did you get caught in this? Your head is filled with questions. Who was this man? Why did he come through your window? “Hey! Are you alright!?” the man yelled. You snapped out of your headspace “Uh, Yes! I'm okay!” you yelled back. He gripped your hand tighter as you both fled down the stairs to the pier. He shoved you into the boat and began uniting the rope that connected to the dock. “Hey! What do you think you’re-”
“I'm getting us out of here.” he cut you off.
“No way in hell I'm going anywhere with you.” you stood on the boat in a huff.
“Well, if you want to be arrested for harboring a “criminal” be my guest, because it's either we leave now or I leave without you. Your choice.” he said with a smirk as he finished untying the rope. You peer behind his shoulder and see the kingdom guards running down the steps with weapons in hand. “GO! GO!” you point and yell. He kicked off with his boot and flipped over. You couldn’t help yourself but snicker when you saw his catastrophic faceplant into the boat floor. “You’re not as graceful as i thought you’d be” you let out a small laugh. He looked at you with a smile as he rose up to brush himself off. The guards halted at the dock “We will find you, Flynn Rider!” they shouted over the river. “I’m sure you will!” Flynn yelled back, he sat on the boat across from you rowing.
“Flynn, Flynn is your name? I remember the guards saying a name but I couldn’t recall.” You pushed your hair behind your ear. “I guess that’s what you can call me.” He smirked. You looked at his face, his jaw, and his goofy smile, his hair, something clicked. “You’re that guy from the posters!” you snickered.
“With the different noses of every other poster.” you teased.
“That is not what my nose looks like! They get it wrong every time.” he pouted.
You couldn't help but laugh “are you sure? Seems pretty accurate to me.” you teased again. His face pulled down like a muppet, your face of laughter became a soft smile. “I think your nose looks great.”you started to play with a strand of your hair.
“By the way, I never caught your name.” Flynn stopped rowing and placed his chin on his hand. “My name?” you stuttered. “You broke into my home, had us get chased by kingdom guards, and now you're finally asking for my name?” you decided to mock the position he was in. “well? Are you going to tell me your name or will I be clueless forever?” he leaned back and began to row again. “My name is y/n” you looked away to the side, crossing your legs. “That's a beautiful name.”
Finally, you hit the shore of the land across the river. Flynn gets off and pushes the boat fully onto shore while you're still in. He runs to the side and places out his hand in front of you “m’lady.” he gestures to pull you up from the boat.
“Charming.” you said as you took his hand. He pulled you up but as you stepped out the boat your dress caught, you tumbled out. Flynn caught you before you could hit the sand, your hands fell onto his chest. Your face turned red, “Ah! I'm so sorry!” you said trying to pull away. “Hang on! Hang on!” he said calmly, “your dress, its caught.” he held you up from falling and unhooked your dress. “Let me help you.” he swooped you into his arms and gently let your feet reach the ground. You stood in silence trying to hide your reddened face. “Are you alright?” he said with concern.
“Oh yes! You know, it's getting late. I probably should head back.” you say anxiously, playing with your hair for comfort. “Well unless you want to be imprisoned and possibly hanged, I’d suggest you stick with me for a little longer toots.” Flynn started to walk off the beach into the thick trees. You hesitated, but you decided to follow his footsteps. You can't help but ponder the same question. How did you get caught into this? Who is this Flynn Rider? You both come to a halt.
“Why are we stopping?” you question him, arms folded to bear with the cold.
“We need a place to set up camp and this is a perfect place!” he looks at you and points with a wide grin.
You peer around only to see trees, rocks, and dirt. Not the most suitable camp but you can manage. “Where will we sleep? We didn't really bring anything for warmth.” you looked at him with slight distraught. “We will sleep here! Let me go get some firewood.” he pranced off to find wood to start a flame. You looked at him like he was crazy. You decided to sit on the ground and wait for him to come back with some wood. It was cold and nearly midnight at this time. You hear rustling behind you, you quickly turn towards the dark trees. “Hello? Flynn?” you stood up slowly. “Flynn!?” you were hesitant to walk towards the noises, you stood shivering because of the cold and the fear you had. “I'm back! Look at all this wood!” Flynn jumped from the bushes. “Flynn! You can’t be doing that!” you clenched your heart, you were relieved that it was him and only him.
“Sorry! But look at his firewood!” Flynn piled it into one cluster and started to rearrange it. He began to smash two rocks together creating sparks and eventually igniting the logs that laid on the grass. You sat closely to the fire to warm yourself up but kept shivering. “Damn, it's cold.” you said while holding yourself tightly. Flynn sat next to you and rubbed your shoulders to try to warm you up. Your face lit up again, you could see Flynn’s face in the corner of your eye, his face looked flustered. “Thank you.” you said with a stutter. Flynn gave a nod, an awkward but adoring nod.
“Whelp!” you yelped. “It's time to hit the hay! Don't you think flynn?” you awkwardly pleaded as you began to lay on your side. “Okay, well.. Goodnight y/n!” you felt Flynn lay next to you. You peered over your shoulder to see he was facing the other way. Your heart was racing knowing he was next to you.
You thought to yourself, there is no way that you like him?
Right?

What would you tell me if I said that Jean is SO Flynn Ryder (Eugene Fitzerbert)from Rapunzel. This is so him. Yes, at the beginning of the film Flynn is a bit of a red flag, but by the end and in the animated series he is >>>>>>> and I believe, I sincerely believe that they are similar to each other

no thoughts, just eunseok letting his partner get whatever and do whatever they want. like the members were in absolute shock when they saw that you managed to get him to be the rapunzel to your flynn rider…i’m giggling
note; i loved this idea so i turned it into a scenario !! i hope you like how it turned out :)
pairing; song eunseok x reader
genre; fluff
warnings; cursing
expect the unexpected
“you’re not serious, are you?” eunseok stares at the couple costume that you’ve bought for the two of you so you can wear it to the halloween party tonight.
“if i wouldn’t be serious i wouldn’t also have bought this,” you throw him the blonde wig that you’ve been hiding behind your back.
eunseok catches it, and after realizing what you just threw at him, he shakes his head. “definitely not.”
you nod your head. “definitely yes.”
“no, you can’t expect me to wear that.”
“i can literally see you perfectly in this costume. it’s made for you.”
“it’s rapunzel!” eunseok looks at you in disbelief.
“yeah! so what! rapunzel is smart and playful, just like you. it fits.”
eunseok keeps shaking his head, not believing what you’re asking him to do. “no but.. don’t i look more like flynn rider? why do i have to be rapunzel?”
“well, what’s wrong with switching up the roles?” you raise your eyebrows.
“nothing.. just..” eunseok sighs, finally giving in. “you’re lucky that i love you. do i really have to wear the purple dress or can i just wear some purple pants and shirt?”
with a big grin all over your face, you walk to eunseok and wrap your arms around him.
“you’re so going to wear the dress. there’s no way out.”
✧˖°.⁺‧˚ ♡ ˚‧⁺ ✧˖°.
after putting on your flynn rider costume, you decide to go to the living room because eunseok is still getting ready.
walking to the living room of the dorm eunseok lives in, you find two of his roommates (anton and sungchan), sitting there, already dressed up for the party. sungchan is wearing a vampire costume and anton has white color all over his face, matching the all white outfit that he’s wearing.
“i‘m guessing you’re a ghost,” you say to him while sitting down on the couch next to them.
“you guessed right. it’s kind of boring, i know, but no one told me that we were going to a halloween party tonight. i literally just found out an hour ago,” anton side eyes sungchan, who apologetically holds his hands up.
“hey, don’t blame me. i thought shotaro told you about it.”
anton leans back while rolling his eyes. “i know you guys didn’t want to tell me in advance because you knew i’d have the best costume.”
sungchan laughs, his fake fangs showing up in their full glory. “that was a good joke, anton.”
“anton made a good joke for once? let’s hear it,” seunghan walks into the room, followed by all the other roommates. now everyone is here, except eunseok.
hmm, what’s taking him so long? you think. should i go take a look?
“i always make good jokes, what are you saying?” anton pouts while seunghan just laughs at him.
you take a look at everyone‘s costumes. wonbin is wearing a popcorn costume, seunghan is dressed up as a zombie, shotaro is looking like michael jackson and sohee is wearing a racer outfit.
“where is eunseok? we should leave soon,” shotaro looks over to you. you take this as a sign and stand up. “i’ll go look after him.”
when you walk closer to eunseoks room, you hear how someone keeps talking. how eunseok keeps talking.
“shit, why is this not closing up!! i‘m going crazy for real.”
“i should have not allowed this to happen. i look weird.”
“… but i can’t say no to her. how the fuck am i supposed to say no to her when she looks at me with her gorgeous eyes and pretty smile.. she just knows how to get to me.”
you find it adorable how eunseok talks to himself whenever he’s stressed. silently, you open the door. eunseoks back is turned to you so he doesn’t notice you walking in.
for a second, you just observe how he’s trying so hard to close up the dress all by himself, but his hands don’t reach the zipper.
“shit, everyone is probably waiting for me,” eunseok mumbles, still not noticing you.
“well yeah, we are waiting,” you say. the sound of your voice makes eunseok turn around and you try to not to laugh when you see his face being all red, the long hair from the wig being all crazy and him looking at you like you’re his last hope.
“i‘m so close to ripping this dress apart, so please, help me before i lose my mind,” eunseok begs and you can’t help it, you start laughing.
walking closer to him, you grab his shoulders and turn him around. after zipping up the dress, you turn him to face you again and start adjusting the wig so it stops looking all over the place.
when you finish, you smile proudly. “and voilà, you’re good to go.”
noticing how eunseok softens his eyes, you grab after his hand. “you look absolutely amazing.”
“honestly, the flynn rider costume looks better on you than it ever would have on me,” eunseok smiles.
hand in hand, the two of you walk to the living room. the others were all talking hysterically but when you guys enter the room, all the attention is on the two of you.
sungchan and sohee start giggling like crazy.
“no fucking way,” wonbin mumbles in disbelief.
“quick, sungchan, give me my phone. i need to take a picture of eunseok,” anton yells while having the biggest smile on his face.
“i‘m already on it,” shotaro grins, pulling out his phone to take a picture of eunseok.
“*y/n*, how did you get him to wear that?” seunghan can‘t hide his amazement.
“i actually didn’t have to do a lot. my charm was enough i guess,” you softly squeeze eunseoks hand.
“seeing them act up like this makes me confident in my costume,” eunseok brushes through his blonde wig with his other hand. “it means that i look good because otherwise they would not give a shit.”
“i told you; this costume was made for you.”
“you guys really do look amazing together,” sungchan stands up, walking closer to the two of you to admire your costumes.
“i‘m kind of jealous,” shotaro joins him. “i thought my costume would be the best but.. maybe i was wrong.”
“i just can’t believe that eunseok is rapunzel and *y/n* is flynn. i didn’t expect that. especially eunseok agreeing to do it.. like how?” seunghan still can’t believe how you were able to persuade eunseok.
“well, expect the unexpected,” you grin while shrugging your shoulders.
eunseok wraps his arm around you, pulling you closer to him.
“i’d agree to everything you say,” he whispers so only you can hear it, and plants a kiss on your head, which makes you feel like the two of you are really in a fairytale.

cw: tangled au! reader wears a dress and has VERY long hair, geto as flynn ryder, reader as rapunzel featuring: geto suguru 1 | 2 |
a/n: hello!! i'm so glad you guys liked the first part, i did make some very little changes to it after it was posted, but here's the second one lmk how it is!! <33
tags: @cofijelli (lmk if you want to be tagged in future parts)
you come out from hiding behind a mannequin and clutch the frying pan to your chest.
the strange man's eyes flutter open, and you knock him out with the pan again. you look over to your chameleon, pascal, and he gestures to check for sharp teeth, as your mother was telling you all outside people have them.
you use the handle and lift his upper lip, not seeing any teeth. feeling a bit relieved, and hit him once more with the pan for good measures.
'what is mother gonna say? oh god, what do i do?' you think to yourself. 'no, this is good. i can prove myself. i am strong enough to leave.'
you head back towards the unconscious man and, using all your strength, you haul his body into a nearby closet, and block it with a chair.
you notice a crown has fallen out of the satchel, and head toward the mirror to try it on. you put it around your wrist like a bracelet, receiving a look of disapproval from pascal, and then put it on your head, earning you another.
you open the satchel and find a 'wanted' poster of the criminal in your closet. 'suguru geto, wanted dead or alive.'
"(y/n)! let down your hair!" you hear.
"coming!"
you shove the crown and poster into a satchel, and then into a nearby pot.
after helping your mother into the tower, she says,
"i have the biggest surprise for you, dear!"
"i do too.." you chuckle nervously.
"ooh, i bet mine is bigger. i'm making hazelnut soup for dinner, your favourite! surprise!"
"well.. mother. i've been thinking about what you said earlier.."
"i hope you're not still talking about the stars," she says.
"floating lights," you correct, "and yes i'm leading up to it.."
"because i really thought we'd dropped this conversation."
"i know you think i'm not strong enough to handle myself out there.." you start.
"ohh, i know you're not strong enough to handle yourself out there." she cuts you off.
"but if you'd just-"
"(y/n)."
"just listen.."
"(y/n).." she growls, feeling more agitated.
"just look, mother-"
"enough, (y/n)! you are never leaving this tower! ever!" she shouts, eyes crazed and wild.
slowly, you take your hand off of the chair blocking the closet and look at the painting you made of the 'stars'. with tears welling up in your eyes, you say,
"i know what i want for my birthday now.."
"and what is that?" she questions, pinching her nose bridge.
"new paint, the kind made from the shells you once brought me.." you say.
"(y/n), that would be a three-day trip," she responds.
"i just thought it would be a better idea than.. the stars." you sigh.
"okay.. i'll go get them."
.・。.・゜✭・.
"are you sure you'll be alright." your mother asks, packing food into a basket for herself.
"i know i'm safe as long as i'm here," you respond, hugging her as she places a kiss on your head.
"alright, i'll see you in three days," she states, lowering herself using your hair.
.・。.・゜✭・.

suguru wakes up tied to a chair, hair all around him, and a chameleon sticking its tongue in his ear.
"what the hell?!" he shouts out, rubbing his ear with his shoulder, trying to remove the uncomfortable feeling.
"i'm not afraid of you.." you call out from the shadows, using your hair to swing yourself down from the ledge you were previously standing on.
"...huh?" he mumbles, shocked and confused by the amount of hair you have. "what..?"
"..how did you find me, suguru geto..?' you question, slowly raising your frying pan.
"uh- yeah, uhm. suguru's fine. anyway, it's really not that deep girlie-"
"(y/n)." you interrupt.
"yeah- i was running away from guards, saw a tower climbed it, and.." he pauses. "where's my satchel?" he asks frantically, throwing an accusing look your way.
"i've hidden it, somewhere you'll never find it." you say, crossing your arms with a proud look on your face.
"it's in that pot, isn't it," he states.
*CLANG*
fwip
"would you stop that!" he shouts, rubbing his ear with his shoulder again.
"now, i've hidden it somewhere you'll never find it." you start, "so what do you want with my hair, to cut it?"
"huh?
"sell it?"
"no?? look, the only thing i want is it to get out of your hair. literally!"
"you- wh-" you stammer, "you're telling the truth?"
"yes! i saw a tower, i climbed it. the end."
turning away, you hold pascal in your hand a communicate with him.
"i know, i need someone to take me."
"this could be my only chance." you explain to the chameleon.
coming to a conclusion, you begin, "okay suguru geto, let's make a deal."
"a deal?" he asks, giving you a judgmental look.
"yes. a deal. look here." you start, turning him to look at your painting of the lights.
"do you know what these are?' you question.
"the lantern thing they do for the lost princess?"
'i knew they weren't stars' you think.
"yes, tomorrow night, they'll float in the sky. you will take me to see them, return me home safely, and only then will you get your precious satchel. that is my proposal." you explain.
"yeah, uh, no. the city and my aren't really 'best friends' at the moment, so no. i'm not taking you anywhere." he says, trying to free himself from the hair prison.
"then you can say 'bye' to your satchel." you retort, tightening the hair on his wrists, halting further movement.
"bye then." he says, calling your bluff.
"something brought you here. call it what you will. fate, destiny-"
"a horse."
"so i have decided to trust you." you continue.
"a garbage decision at that."
"but trust me when i tell you this, you can tear this tower apart brick by brick. but without my help, you will never see your dear satchel again." you threaten, pulling the chair so he's at eye-level with you.
"i take you to see the lantern, bring you back, and you promise to let me go?" he inquires.
"i promise."
"??" he gives you a look that tells you he isn't quite convinced.
"and i never break my promises.. ever," you add.
"fine. we'll go." he sighs, giving in.
"really??" you gleam, letting go of the chair and dropping suguru on his face.
"ow."

Untangled | OUAT/Tangled Crossover Fanfic | Chapter Two
author: cosette141
fandom: Once Upon A Time & Tangled
words: 5k+
summary: (Tangled/OUAT crossover) “Who the bloody hell are you?” Flynn jerked awake at the sinister voice, and the distinct feeling of sharp metal under his chin. The first thing he noticed was the pirate standing next to him, a hook replacing the man’s left hand, and a cold, angry flash in his eyes as he held the metal appendage to his throat. Flynn opened his mouth to explain, only to realize he couldn’t, because when the hell did he get tied to the helm of a ship? (Captain Swan & Flynn/Rapunzel)
AO3
Chapter Two
“I’m the lost princess.”
Rapunzel’s voice was barely a whisper as she stared at her reflection, in the room that had once been the only place that made her feel safe.
Understanding and shock was breaking through the hole in her chest, and Rapunzel felt strength rise within her.
The tears from Flynn’s—Eugene’s—betrayal were still fresh on her face, the heartbreak as raw as an open wound from seeing him sailing away from her, but at the realization, her tears stilled.
She was the lost princess.
It was her.
She stumbled away from the mirror, knocking a vase off the table, shattering it on the floor. Footsteps ran up the stairs.
“Rapunzel?” came a voice. “What’s going on up there?” Her mother appeared in the doorway, looking at her with a concern that Rapunzel was finally seeing wasn’t for her.
“The lost princess is me,” said Rapunzel, voice low, quiet, spoken like a question but as sure as any fact. “Isn’t it?”
Her mother, now seeing her unhurt, gave her an exasperated eye roll. “You’re mumbling again,” she snipped. “Rapunzel, what have I told you about the mumbling?”
But Rapunzel, instead of backing down, instead of accepting whatever the woman had told her as fact like she’s done her whole life, straightened.
Because it seemed that nothing the woman had told her was fact, and that this woman wasn’t even her mother at all .
“It’s me,” she repeated, voice hard as steel, eyes sharp as a blade. “Isn’t it? I’m the lost princess,” she said firmly, voice shaking from anger, fists curling at her sides.
The woman standing before her froze, and it was the first time Rapunzel has ever seen her unsure.
It was true.
It was true.
“Did I mumble, mother?” said Rapunzel dangerously. “Or should I even call you that?”
The woman—Gothel, since she would never be Mother to Rapunzel again—creased her brows, as if concerned, and if Rapunzel didn’t know better, she’d have fallen for it. “Everything I did was to protect you,” she cooed, reaching for her.
“No, it wasn’t!” said Rapunzel, jerking away from her touch. “It was—” Suddenly, more pieces clicked into place. “It was to protect you !” she exclaimed, gesturing with her hair. “You just wanted me for my hair’s magic,” she breathed, hurt and angry all at once. At the expression on Gothel’s face, Rapunzel knew she’d hit the mark. Her eyes narrowed. “Well, you will never use my hair again.”
“I love you, Rapunzel,” cooed Gothel again, voice taking on a hysterical, last-ditch-effort tone. “More than those stupid royals or that thief ever could! He would have betrayed you in the end; I did you a favor! Stay,” she stressed.
But Rapunzel looked at her sharply. “He would have betrayed me?” she repeated. “He would have? What are you talking about?” Her voice shook with rising fury.
Gothel’s expression slipped, and Rapunzel watched her realize her mistake. “He did betray you,” she amended quickly, trying another smile. “Why of course he did; you saw for yourself!”
Hope and fear surged in Rapunzel’s chest. “I think,” she ground out, “that I only saw what you wanted me to see. Like you have my whole life,” she growled. She moved to push past her. “I’m going to find Eugene.”
“Oh, I’m sure the Royal Guard has already,” came Gothel’s sharp voice behind her.
Rapunzel turned, heart skipping. “What?”
Gothel smiled something that sent chills down Rapunzel’s spine. “I trapped him on that ship with the stolen jewels. He will have already been found, and will certainly be hanged for his crimes in the morning.”
Rapunzel’s hope that Eugene hadn’t betrayed her froze in her chest, sinking like a ship in the sea. “No,” she breathed. She ran for the door. “I’ll save him,” she said breathlessly, only to be yanked back with a yelp as Gothel grabbed her by the hair.
“You aren’t going anywhere,” she said dangerously, keeping a grip on her hair that Rapunzel couldn’t shake. “If you won’t stay with me willingly, then I’ll make you.”
She lunged for her, and Rapunzel screamed.
Emma leaned against the trunk of a tree to catch her breath.
She blinked at the midnight forest around her, feeling vague flashbacks of Neverland come back to her. But this place, other than being a woodland, was nothing like Neverland. It felt warm and inviting and a place she could imagine even wanting to return to.
That was, if the Royal Guard would stop chasing her.
Nearly twenty-four hours ago, she and Killian had been traversing the realms, as he called it, for their honeymoon. They had happened upon this land that they came to find out was called Corona . In passing he had mentioned the land seemed familiar, but he hadn’t remembered how. And after a two hundred year long life, Emma could understand. It wasn’t until they stumbled upon a set of wanted posters that Killian had gone rigid and insisted they leave immediately. At Emma’s confusion, he muttered something about stolen jewels and it’s been two hundred years, they should bloody think I’m dead by now, and Emma had realized one of the wanted posters was a badly drawn picture of him.
But before they could return to where he’d docked the Jolly Roger, they ran into a group of Royal Guards, who despite the poor drawing of Killian, had recognized him immediately and demanded he be hanged for his crimes.
Was there no statute of limitations in this place?
Somehow she and Killian had gotten separated as they ran from the Guards. Now, exhausted and still panting, Emma shut her eyes, really wishing her cell phone worked here.
Leaves suddenly rustled and Emma’s heart skipped. Horse hooves.
“Damn it,” she hissed.
The last time she ran from authority this much she was seventeen.
Emma pushed off the tree and started running again, knowing she couldn’t outrun the horse. She looked for a place to hide.
There.
Some bushes—they’d be at least enough cover. Emma dove through them, only to realize there wasn’t a cliff side behind them.
Emma blinked at the hole in the dirt wall, leading to—
“Woah,” breathed Emma, hearing the horses in the distance riding off, unaware of her as she walked forward into where she found herself.
It was beautiful, lush nature, all surrounding an incredibly tall tower that looked like it came out of a storybo—
Emma paused.
It did come out of a storybook.
Henry’s.
Emma felt another pang of homesickness, missing her son, as she and Killian have been away for almost two weeks now. They had just been about to head back home when this whole mess happened, and Emma should have expected it. They could never catch a break in the crises, could they?
But knowing him and herself, they’ll find each other. He’ll be all right.
Her husband was a survivor.
She smiled at the thought. Husband.
She couldn’t wait to find him and feel his arms around her again.
But shattering the thought, Emma suddenly heard a scream from the window at the top of the tower.
Emma’s heart skipped.
The protectiveness she was born with rose up in her chest, and Emma ran forward, poofing herself in through the window of the tower mid-run.
Her magic dispersed in a white cloud, landing her on the floor of what looked like a bedroom, floor-to-ceiling walls covered in paintings, and the floor covered in—
Emma suddenly realized what story this was.
Hundreds and hundreds of yards of blond hair was strewn around the room.
And the person the hair belonged to was on her knees, arms chained to her sides, and a woman trying to force her into a trapdoor.
Both women looked at Emma in shock. The younger one— Rapunzel, Emma knew—shouted through the gag a muffled word Emma recognized as “Help,” and Emma’s eyes narrowed at the older woman.
The woman sneered at her in angry shock. “Who —oh, it doesn’t matter,” said the woman sharply, but she abandoned the sentence, grabbing a dagger from behind her back, and Rapunzel’s eyes shot wide, giving a squeal in warning.
Emma dodged a swipe of the dagger, thanking Killian for the sword-fighting lessons, and she ran for Rapunzel. With the first idea in Emma’s mind, she grabbed the younger girl’s shoulder, and shut her eyes as the white cloud of her magic consumed them, transporting them away just as the dagger cut through the mist where Emma had been standing.
Emma and Rapunzel fell to the ground hard.
They were in the forest again; the first place she could think of to get them to safety was the place she and Killian had last been together here in Corona.
Emma hurried to get herself off the ground, accidentally tangling herself in the girl’s hair, and being careful not to step on it or pull it. Freed of the strands, she rushed to the girl’s aid.
Emma quickly tore off the tape from her mouth, wincing at her yelp.
She stared at Emma with wide eyes. “You saved me,” she said breathlessly.
Emma smiled. “Kind of what I do,” she said with a half-hearted smirk that faded as she worked on getting the chains off of her. Once she was able to pull them over her head, freeing her arms, they were suddenly thrown around her, squeezing Emma so tight she couldn’t breathe.
“Thank you,” said Rapunzel breathlessly. “Thank you,” she said again, squeezing her even harder. “How can I ever repay you?!”
Emma tried to breathe. “Breathing… would be fine,” she joked through a wince, and Rapunzel gave an “ oops ” over her shoulder, pulling back with a wince of her own. She let out her own breath, shaking her head. “Thank you, honestly,” she repeated.
“No problem,” said Emma. “Who even was that woman? What happened back there?”
Rapunzel’s eyes clouded over. “My mo—” She caught herself. “That.. woman… she pretended to be my mother my whole life,” she whispered.
Emma’s brows shot up. “She what ?”
“I kind of… just realized she wasn’t my mother,” admitted Rapunzel. “I told her I was leaving, and… she was trying to… make me stay,” she said with a shiver.
“That’s… terrible,” said Emma, the word an understatement, suppressing a shiver. That woman was the epitome of madness. “Are you okay?” asked Emma.
“Yeah,” said Rapunzel shakily, but Emma knew it was a lie. Rapunzel looked around the quiet forest, hugging herself. “But I don’t think she’s going to let me go that easily,” she said worriedly. “She… needs me,” she said, even quieter.
A chill swept down Emma’s spine at the idea. For a moment, Emma wished she’d killed the vile woman, but… flashbacks of Cruella had her shaking herself from the memory. At least she and Rapunzel were safe for now.
Emma felt her resolve harden. “She won’t get you,” she promised. “I’ll make sure of it.” Smiling reassuringly, she extended a hand. “I’m Emma. Emma Swan.”
“I’m Rapunzel,” said Rapunzel, shaking Emma’s hand, her fingers trembling.
“I know,” said Emma before she could stop the words, making Rapunzel’s brows rise.
“How do you know me?” she asked, eyes wide. “Did you know I was the lost princess? Is that why you were there?”
Emma’s brows lifted this time. For the short time she and Killian were here, they had overheard about the lost princess, and even watched the lanterns fly into the sky, Emma safely in Killian’s arms…
She shook herself, still missing him so much it hurt.
“Um, no—I was in the forest and I heard your scream,” said Emma. “It’s kind of a long story, but I grew up in a realm called The Land Without Magic. In that realm, there are stories of people from all different realms, and one of them is yours. But I don’t remember this happening in that story,” said Emma. “Though… they get a lot of things wrong.”
“You grew up in a realm without magic?” asked Rapunzel. “But… you have magic,” she said, still seeming awed by it.
“Yeah… it’s a long story,” said Emma, but at Rapunzel’s pleading eyes, Emma decided to give her the short version. “I was born in the Enchanted Forest,” said Emma, but the location didn’t seem to resonate with Rapunzel. “But because of a Curse, I was sent to the Land Without Magic, and… I had to grow up without my parents,” said Emma unsteadily. “It was only a few years ago that I found my parents, who are a king and a queen in the Enchanted Forest and learned that they never wanted to leave me.” finished Emma, the story still sometimes too crazy to believe, and not for the first time wishing she could go tell her younger self that it would happen for her.
Rapunzel’s eyes widened. “So you’re a lost princess too?”
Emma smiled half-heartedly, biting her lip. “I… guess I was, actually. Yeah. Still it’s hard to remember that I’m a ‘princess’,” she said the word with as much sureness as a paper tower in a hurricane. “My parents had to send me away when I was a baby in an attempt to protect me,” Emma went on. “It turned out I was this ‘Savior’ who had to break the Curse, and…” She smiled shyly, still fragile over the idea of it all. “Well, things have been a little crazy ever since, but… it brought me to my family.”
Rapunzel’s eyes suddenly clouded even more. “My—the… the woman who pretended to be my mother,” she said softly, “she stole me from my parents.”
“Stole you?” echoed Emma, brows rising sharply.
Nodding, Rapunzel said, “From… the King and Queen, I guess,” she said, like she was still realizing it as she said it. “Before a few days ago, I haven’t ever even left the tower,” she whispered. “Mother—“ She caught herself. “She wouldn’t let me,” she whispered.
Emma’s brows creased with empathy, reminding herself of her time in prison. But she couldn’t imagine having gone through that her whole childhood . It was a loneliness like no other. “Why did she take you?” asked Emma gently.
Rapunzel hesitated, but then said, “I have magic, too.”
“You do?” asked Emma, brows rising, feeling a flashback to meeting Elsa.
Rapunzel lifted a few strands of her hair, and looking at Emma, gently took Emma’s arm, where Emma suddenly realized the dagger had nicked her. Rapunzel wrapped the strand around the cut on Emma’s forearm, and shut her eyes. “Flower, gleam and glow,” she sang softly, and Emma jumped at the sudden light flowing from Rapunzel’s hair to her arm. “Let your power shine,” she sang, “make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine.”
She opened her eyes, removing her hair to show Emma’s skin perfectly unharmed. “Woah,” said Emma. “Magic hair… was definitely not in the movie,” she said.
“What’s a movie?” asked Rapunzel. But her gaze shifted, and she suddenly gasped, stumbling to her feet, tripping over her own hair and Emma had to steady her.
“What’s wrong?” asked Emma.
“Eugene!” she exclaimed.
“Who?” asked Emma. She turned to see what Rapunzel had seen, to find her gaze on the wanted posters on the trees. She was looking at one of a charming-looking man with a less-than-attractive nose.
“Eugene,” repeated Rapunzel breathlessly. “I met him a few days ago,” she said quickly. “He… I… we…” Her eyes teared up. “I love him,” she whispered, smiling with the words. But the smile fell— “He’s in trouble!”
“What kind of trouble?” asked Emma.
“My mo—Gothel,” said Rapunzel uneasily. “She tied him to a ship and framed him for a crime and the Royal Guard is going to find him and… and they’re going to…” Her eyes filled with tears again, but this time they weren’t happy ones.
Emma didn’t need help finishing her sentence. “We’ll find him,” said Emma. “We’ll save him.” she assured her, seeing such a fresh strength in Rapunzel’s eyes, but still so much innocence and so much fear.
And it felt like Emma was jumping into a Time Portal and looking into a mirror.
“Okay,” said Rapunzel, seeming to calm in Emma’s determination.
“We’ll find your prince,” said Emma.
Rapunzel smiled through the fear in her eyes.
“And then after we do,” said Emma, “I could use some help finding mine.”
“Your prince?” asked Rapunzel. “Who is he?”
At that, Emma just smiled.
And gestured proudly to the wanted poster right next to the one of Flynn Rider.

Heeseung couldn’t bring himself to wake you up, knowing you were so exhausted from all the things you had to do.
Not only did you manage to prepare everything for Jia’s kindergarten, take her there and get to work in time but you also cleaned and cooked in your spare time, leaving little to just sit down and rest, which was why every time you sat down on the sofa, you ended up falling in a deep slumber.
He smiled fondly, covering your curled figure with a blanket and turned around with his hands on his hips “Tin Soldier.”
He called with a forced low voice, making Jia’s attention turn from the toy in her hand to her father, she placed her stocky hand on her forehead, standing at attention “Captain Hamster.”
Heeseung chuckled at her high pitched voice and scooped her up from the floor, taking her in his arms “Mission sweet tooth,” He booped her nose “Time for teeth brushing.”
Jia let out a whine of disappointment “But I want to play more.” She pouted, and if Heeseung didn’t know how much you’d get upset if Jia missed her bedtime, he’d let his daughter play to her heart's content.
“I know,” He pinched her cheek softly, earning a giggle “But I heard the tooth fairy doesn’t come to those who don’t brush their teeth before bed…” He trailed off, Jia’s eyes widened and she quickly climbed down Heeseung’s arms, hurrying upstairs. He could hear her small steps darting to the bathroom, making him smile writhing himself.
He glanced back at you, feeling such an euphoric feeling he thought his heart would explode.
Heeseung walked close to you and placed a featherlight kiss on your forehead, but your momma instinctive feelings made your eyes open up, alerted to your surroundings as you tried to get the sight of your daughter.
“Shh..” He soothed, caressing your cheek “I’ll prepare Jia for bed, mh?” He kissed the corner of your lips, your eyes already closed under his relaxing touch “You stay here, I'll take you to bed later.” You just let out a sleepy hum, your eyes too heavy to stay open more.
Heeseung went upstairs, following his daughter’s route and getting to the bathroom where she was already brushing her teeth, probably with a little too much toothbrush but it didn’t matter. He was glad she was trying.
Jia rinsed her mouth and opened it to let her father see how much of a good job she did, Heeseung smiled proudly “Great job, Tin Soldier. It's jammy mission now.” Jia giggled as she hurried off the stool that helped her reach the faucet and took Heeseung's sleeve, dragging him (more like, he let himself be dragged) to her bedroom.
The baby took her pyjama from the chair and placed it on the bed, “Daddy, can you help me?” She asked, clumsily removing her clothes.
Heeseung nodded, smiling as he saw her attempts at changing, despite still not majoring in it. In no time, she was clean and ready to bed, Heeseung tugged her under the blankets and sat by the edge of the bed, only the thin reflection of the pink night light illuminating the room.
They stared at each other for a few moments until Jia spoke “No bedtime story?” She tilted her head in confusion “You want me to tell you a bedtime story?”
“Mommy always does,” He explained, hugging her purple bear tightly “And what kind of stories does mommy tell you?” Heeseung asked, curious
“She usually recounts Tangled because she like a Flynn Rider.” Jia informed, making Heeseung raise a brow “She does?” Was it possible to feel jealous of a cartoon character? Probably not but Heeseung was crazy about you, so he’d make it a normal thing.
“Yes, but it’s always the same story.” Jia sighed, shaking her head “I want a more interesting one.”
Heeseung stayed silent, his lips forming a thin line as he tried to think “What do you want to hear about?”
It didn’t take much for Jia to reply “I want the greatest love story of all.” She answered happily, at her age, everything was about fantasies and unicorns.
So, Heeseung tried to think about the many love stories he knew, the famous tales he’d known growing up. There was Cinderella, The Little Mermaid and…. a candle lit in his mind.
“I’ll tell you the greatest love story of all,” He started with a cocky smirk “The best fairytale ever told.”
His words fuelled Jia’s curiosity as she snuggled better under the blankets, eyes sparkling “The wonderful love story of Lee Heeseung and L/N Y/N.”
Jia’s face was puzzled “But that’s you and mommy.” She stated and Heeseung nodded, smiling “Mommy isn’t a princess.”
Heeseung shook his head, but his smile never disappeared from his lips. “No, she’s my queen.” He ruffled Jia’s hair “So, do you want to hear it?”
“Mhmh!” Jia hummed in response “If mommy is a queen then I am the princess.” Heeseung let out a low chuckle, nodding “Yes, you are our dear princess.”
Jia smiled widely, one of those smiles that made your days uncontrollably better and sweeter “Tell me, tell me.” She incited her father
“It all started on..”
⪩⪨
A rainy Thursday afternoon. It was the perfect time for a cinema hang out with friends. You stood in front of the long line, it seemed like everyone had your same idea since both elderly couples and families with children were buying tickets and popcorn. You waved your hand to a young boy who was staring at you while holding a sachet of popcorn bigger than him, he waved back, making you smile.
You turned your head to see that most of the queue was gone, so you surpassed some of those people who never moved and just stared at the menu. You already knew your order, so why would you wait for them to choose?
The cashier who looked like he could really do a vacation asked in a monotone voice “What do you want to order?”
“A packet of Twizzlers.” You said but your voice did not seem quite like yours. You turned your head to the side just to meet a pair of big eyes staring at you in disbelief.
You two narrowed your eyes at each other, a staring battle that would declare the winner. Why were you acting that way? Because the packet of Twizzlers was the last one, and if that pretty boy thought he could steal it from you, he thought wrongly.
The cashier cleared his throat. “It’s the last one.” He stated, holding the dear packet of candies in front of you two
“I was there first.” The boy tried to defend himself, making you scoff “He was talking to me.” You raised a challenging brow.
“I clearly saw you cutting the line.” He blamed “False accusation, do you have any proof?”
“You were at the end of the queue just two seconds ago!” He exclaimed, making you smirk “You were staring at me?” Pink flashed instantly on the guy’s cheeks “No.” He tried to mask it, but you could clearly see some frustration in his features
The cashier cleared his throat once again, snatching your attention. “Just decide already, or I will.”
“No!” You both screamed, side eyeing each other once again “They’re mine.” The boy said, making you roll your eyes, “Your name ain’t written on them.”
“Neither is yours.” He raised his chin, an attempt to make you see he wasn’t backing down.
There was a moment where you two stared at each other, silence filling the place except for the vociferate inside the cinema halls, waiting for the movie to begin.
“Rock, paper, scissors!” You both exclaimed at the same time again, showing your hands. He cursed under his breath, seeing your petite hand that represented paper wrap around his closed fist which was rock.
“I won.” You said mockingly, throwing a few coins on the counter and taking the packet of twizzlers in your hand.
You were walking away when the cashier called you “Miss, excuse me?” You turned around and raised a questioning brow
He waved the coins you used to pay for the candies “You’re missing ten cents.”
You widened your eyes, checking your jeans pockets. You were sure you took the right amount of money, had you miscounted them?
An hopeful grin spread across the guy’s lips, taking the pennies from the cashier’s fingers and walking toward you “Guess this should be mine.” He tried to take the packet of Twizzlers but you moved your arm
He sighed, shaking his head “Listen, darling—“ “Don’t call me darling” You snapped at him, a frown on your face
He placed two surrounding hands between you two “Alright, my bad.” He then pointed at you and the dear packet of candies “You don’t have enough money, but I do, so just give it up and go watch your movie.”
Your mouth fell agape, staring at him in disbelief. However, you had nothing to counterattack anymore and had to stay still when he took the packet, replacing your hand with your not enough coins and paying for it to the overtired cashier.
The boy winked at you before disappearing down the corridor that led to the halls.
A movie just wasn’t the same without Twizzlers, but instead of doing twenty cents charity outside the cinema to buy at least a coke, you hurried inside the hall that projected ‘The Notebook’ and tried to find your seat, despite the room being dark already. Fortunately, there was at least ten minutes of advertising, so you had enough time to let yourself fall on the seat with a loud thud, earning a few ‘shhh’s from other people.
“Girl, what’s wrong with you?” Your best friend, Sunoo asked “What took you so long to come back? I thought you got lost or something.”
You shook your head, a defeated expression painted on your face “Someone stole my Twizzlers.” You fake-dried a tear
“Aw, poor you.” Sunoo patted your shoulder, knowing your tradition of eating candies and drinking coke while watching a movie “It’s ok, I’ll share my coke with you.” He took the giant cup and placed it on the armrest between the two of you. You smiled at him and focused your attention on the movie that started.
You felt a familiar scent filling your nostrils, you slowly turned your head and raised a brow when you noticed that not only had that boy stolen your candies, he was also eating them on the seat beside yours. You had not noticed it when you first sat down, but now you could clearly see his silhouette enjoying the snack that should’ve been yours.
As if feeling someone’s stare on him, he turned his head and met your angry gaze, his eyes widened a little before they turned into two half-moons, a smug grin on his lips. You exchanged no words but the way he was acting was so mocking it made your blood burn.
You gave your attention back to the film, not wanting to fuel his ego by acting affected by his childish behaviour. Yes, it was childish, but you were more petty so it did anger you. Who did he think he was to act that way?
The movie continued, even if you were painfully aware of the parasite beside you, you were able to follow the whole plot line until the ending scene was replaced with the closing credits. Murmurs filled the cinema room, the lights went on and you heard.
Sunoo was crying rivers beside you which made you chuckle, he had already finished his third tissue when he said “I’ll run to the bathroom.” To probably cry some more and try to fix his swelling eyes later. You were about to follow him when you heard a sniffle from your other side, you turned around and your eyes lit up when you noticed the stealer crying.
He raised his head and hid it behind his hands when he noticed you were staring. A heartfelt laugh escaped your lips “Don’t laugh at me.” He mumbled with a clear runny nose “You bet I am.” You sat down again, waiting for all the people to flow out and leave the exits freer “That’s what you get for stealing my snacks.”
He peaked at you from behind his fingers. “It’s not my fault you’re broke.” You tsked at his false-not-so-false statement “It’s not my fault you’re a crybaby.”
He side-eyed you and you side-eyed him back, just like Sunoo had taught you. The boy tried to dry his tears and runny nose, which was both unhygienic and impossible with one palm of his hand.
You felt a little pitiful for him and sighed, taking a tissue from the small tissue box and handing it to the boy.
He eyed it warily, not sure if he should’ve accepted it or not. “It’s not poisonous, unlike your germs.” You waved it in front of his face and he accepted it with a groan, blowing his nose and drying his tears.
He crumpled it and put it in his jeans pocket, staring at you while gulping down in a nervous way. You chuckled teasingly “What? Is the venom acting up?”
He rolled his eyes and took something from inside his hoodie’s pocket, “I saved this for you.”
You stared at the red candy stick he was holding out for you with a frown “What?” You asked, puzzled. Heeseung just sighed, acting unbiased. “I was full, don’t think I did it out of kindness.”
“What’s your name?” You asked suddenly, making him widen his eyes “Careful, you sound interested.”
You pursued your lips “Just answer, yeah?” The boy placed the candy on your palm, standing up.
You hadn’t noticed it, but he towered you by a lot just with you sitting, you didn’t imagine how you would have to pull your neck to look into his eyes by standing in front of him.
He stretched, lazily placing his hands in his pocket “Heeseung,” He beckoned to you “Y/N.” You replied
“Thank you for the tissue, Y/N.” He said and the way your name rolled from his tongue made your stomach turn. Whether it was disgust or attraction, you didn’t dare to label.
“Unthank you for the Twizzlers.” You smirked and turned on your heels, walking away before he even had the chance to talk to you more.
⪩⪨
“You cried over a movie?” Jia asked in an accusatory tone “I’m a sensitive person.” Heeseung huffed, blinking faintly
“I think you’re just a cry baby.” Jia raised her chin proudly “I didn’t even cry when I went to the dentist.”
Heeseung sniggered softly, booping his daughter's nose. He couldn’t help but always show some sort of affection towards her. The feeling of protection and longing was so strong whenever they spent time together. “Of course, you’re stronger than me.”
“Did you see her again later?” Heeseung nodded “Yes, but it was a lot of time later, like one month or so.” Jia widened her eyes “That much?” He hummed, running a hand in his hair “I was always awestruck when I saw her, it happened at the cinema and again…”
⪩⪨
“A 40, please.” Heeseung forced out a smile and handed the skates to the young girl who just asked. He was supposed to be relaxing at home but his brother decided to have a small trip with his girlfriend and obviously, it was Heeseung’s turn to cover up for him.
He had been handing skates that smelled like sweat and rotten cheese to people for four hours, and the thoughts of doing that for another one and half made him feel sick.
“A 38, please.” Heeseung’s eyes widened at the familiar voice, he raised his head and stared at your face through his bangs.
“You!” You both shouted at the same time, making the gesture of the Spiderman meme “What are you doing here?” He asked, eyeing you up and down.
Perhaps, it was the reddish lightning of the room, or the fact that your hair had grown a little, seeming like the perfect length for you; or the soft make up accentuating your face. Or maybe just the toxic fumes from the overused skates played tricks on his head.
“What’s taking so long?” One arm sneaked around your shoulders, making Heeseung raise a brow.
Oh, that was why you were there.
“My size is hard to find.” You lied, beckoning to Heeseung to do his job. Complying, he turned around and found your skates. passing them to you “Remember to take the safety precautions.” He said the same phrase he’d been repeating so many times and watched as you walked away with that guy’s arm still around your shoulder.
It shouldn’t have pissed him off, but it did. The way you smiled with him, helping him skating despite him was a lost case. Seriously, that guy sucked at skating, he had fallen so many times in just one hour.
Trying to distract himself, when he saw you approaching the counter bar, he started polishing the skates, but the urge to just talk to you was strong, so he approached you, sneakingly.
“Where’s your date?” Heeseung asked, cleaning the table with a sponge near where you were sat “Bathroom.” You replied nonchalantly
A soft frown curved his forehead “You’ve been sitting here for fifteen minutes, you sure he’s still in there?” At his words you smirked “You were staring at me?” Those same two words you told him when you first met.
You added “I saw him sneaking away five minutes ago, I just like to think he had a massive diarrhoea and didn’t actually dump me.”
Fucker. If he didn’t want to go out with you anymore he could’ve at least told you face to face.
The notes of ‘She Will Be Loved’ by Maroon 5 started playing as background music. Heeseung stared at you, you looked so gorgeous with your makeup, messy hair from the skating and the same bored expression you always wore, like nothing truly entertained you enough.
“What a loser.” He joked instead, earning a scoff from you “Why don’t you put yourself to good use and make me a smoothie?” You asked, sliding three coins on the counter.
Heeseung raised a brow, “I don’t know how to do it.” You raised it back “Don’t you work here?”
He shook his head “I’m just filling in for my brother.” You rolled your eyes “How useless.”
You were about to take those coins back when Heeseung stopped you, his hands brushing against yours “I’ll do it.” You smirked “A vanilla one, thank you.”
It was already late afternoon and the skating room wasn’t as packed as it was during the early hours, so Heeseung could put aside the skates sizes to make you a smoothie. Obviously, only to prove to you he was better than you thought, not because he wanted to cheer you up. Not at all.
Fiddling a little bit with the smoothies machine, he managed to make one, a little too liquid, but still drinkable.
He placed victoriously the glass in front of you, adding a straw inside “Here ya go.” You eyed it up and down, warily “Did you spit in it?”
Heeseung put a hand on his chest, acting wounded “You think so low of me.” You sighed while shaking your hand and took a small sip of the ‘vanilla smoothie’
“How is it?” He asked, hopeful. You just shrugged “Not bad for a newbie.”
Heeseung smirked, leaning against the counter, you could feel his body heat near you “Where’s my tip?”
You rolled your eyes, pushing him away “Nowhere.”
Your phone rang at that moment, you made a gesture for him to keep quiet and answered “Yes, mom… Yes, I know— at the, don’t shout, at the skating rink—“ A heavy sigh “Okay, I’ll be home.”
You hung up and hopped off the stool “Where are you going?” Heeseung frowned, “You haven’t even finished your smoothie.”
“Curfew.” You replied, waving your phone to him. He raised a brow “Don’t ask.”
Heeseung nodded, exiting from behind the counter, still in his brother’s uniform. Now you raised a brow “Where are you going?”
“I’ll walk you home.” You scowled, your face showing surprise “You’re working.” You stated
Heeseung pointed at the clock on the wall that ticked 06:03 PM. “Technically, my shift ended three minutes ago.”
“And why would you walk me home?” You asked “If something happened to you on the way, I’m sure your ghost would haunt me.”
You tsked, “I wouldn’t give you the honour to visit you when I’m dead.” Heeseung just smiled and nudged your shoulder with his “Lead the way, Twizzlers lover.”
You just rolled your eyes and walked out as he held the door for you “Let’s go, Twizzlers stealer.”
⪩⪨
“Why did that boy leave mommy?” Jia asked, her lips shifting to a cute pout “Because he didn’t realise what a treasure your mother is.” Heeseung answered, now sitting beside Jia with her small body curled under his arm.
“And you walked her home?” He nodded, laughing at the memories “Your grandfather went crazy when he saw me walk her home, I got a slipper thrown at my head.”
Jia chuckled as well, her soft giggles echoing through the whole room “What’s so funny? I got hurt.”
Jia chuckled loudly, hiding her face in her father’s chest “Grandpa still throws slippers at you.” She stated, making Heeseung laugh again “That’s right.”
“What happened then?” She asked, wanting to know more about her parents' love story. This was better than any prince and princesses tales her mother used to tell her.
“Later, I was forced to have dinner with them.” Heeseung started narrating, “After that awkward meal, me and Y/N grew closer. We kept bickering and fighting, but with her, no conversation was forced.”
Jia frowned “What does it mean?” She naively asked, of course she wouldn’t know this yet, so Heeseung explained “Sometimes, we feel forced to talk to others, however with your mother I didn’t even have to think about what to say, words just came to my mind.”
“Mommy seemed like she hated you.” The baby stated, glancing up to her father “She didn’t.”
Jia tilted her head “How do you know?” Heeseung smiled fondly, “I just knew.”
⪩⪨
“This one’s for you!” Heeseung exclaimed, throwing the ball to the basket just to painfully miss it. You laughed loudly at his fail “I hope that’s not how you flirt with girls or that explains why you’re single.” You snickered
Heeseung reached the ball and dribbled it around the court, his sleeves rolled up and his bangs sticking to the sweat on his forehead “Only with you.” He winked, making you act as if you were about to gag.
“Do you think I’ll be able to enter the college’s basketball team?” He asked, his voice sounding a little too serious for his usual playful character.
“We still have two months to think about college,” You frowned. “Let me live my summer without any thoughts.” Heeseung chuckled and threw the ball at you, which you caught before it landed on your face.
“I know,” He caught the ball you threw back at him “But I truly want to get a scholarship and maybe become a basketball player.” His tone may have been indifferent but his eyes were full of insecurities that could not could not be ignored.
You had been enemy (friend) with Heeseung long enough to know he had two things he deeply cared for: His family and basketball.
He was the High School team captain but hadn’t managed to receive a scholarship to enter the Sports faculty, which meant he had to rely on his own skills and money.
That wasn’t a problem, you know his family would always support his dreams, but there was something that Heeseung did not tell you about. You had a feeling, however you didn’t want to assume things. He’d tell you when he felt like it.
Your expression softened, you jumped off the railing and moved closer to him, stealing the ball from his hands, that he let you do, and taking a shot.
The ball entered the basket, making you smile proudly “You’re the best player I know, Heeseung.” You said honestly, nudging his shoulder with yours. The ball bounced back to you and you scooped it from the floor, placing a hand that signalled to Heeseung to wait there.
You rushed to your bags and took something he couldn’t see. He waited patiently, following all your movements.
You turned around and showed him what you did— holding out his basketball ball with a smiley face drawn on it “You just have to believe it too.” The smile on your lips matched with the ball’s one, but yours shone brighter. Heeseung felt a warm feeling spread all over his chest, something tickling his heart.
“Not as good as me.” You smirked playfully, taking another shot that missed the basket “Cause at least I fail gracefully.”
Heeseung shook his head, his lips curling into a small grin “You free tomorrow evening?” He suddenly asked and you quickly replied “Not at all.”
Heeseung knitted his brows “Why?” You sat back on the railing “The new season of ‘One Tree Hill’ is airing, I wouldn’t miss it for anything.”
He reached for you, taking the new-styled ball in his hands and rolling it “Not even if I said I’ll buy you Twizzlers?” You pondered a little but then shook your head “Nah ah.”
“Damn.” Heeseung sighed, “I’ll watch it with you, then.”
You blinked faintly “You called my series trash yesterday.” Heeseung nodded “Well, they are.” He hopped on the railing beside you “But when I become the best basketball player in the world, I won’t be able to spend much time with you.”
You smiled, noting how he said ‘when’ and not ‘if’ “Finally some time away from you.” Heeseung faked being offended “I’ll say on national TV that you were about to sabotage my career.” You laughed “I’ll be making prayers for your downfall.”
You both laughed at whatever, teasing each other but knowing when to stop not to upset the other.
“Eight PM, tomorrow?” Heeseung questioned, “I don’t want you in my house.” You answered, laughing “I’ll climb the window.” You immediately shook your head, knowing he could manage to do it, because he had tried once “Fine, loser. Roast beef for dinner, take it or leave it.”
Heeseung smirked, biting his bottom lip “Not you as a meal?” You widened your eyes, pushing him off the railing “What the hell.”
“Ouch—“ He fell flat on the floor, “That hurt.” You wiggled your brows “Serves you right.”
“Oh yeah?” He said, tone flirty as he took the ball and hit you hard with it, making you fall “How dare you!” You started chasing after him while he ran away.
If anyone saw you from afar, they’d think you were two people madly in love with each other… and you were.
You just hadn’t realised it yet.
⪩⪨
“You wanted to become a basketball player?” Jia asked, her voice filled with sleepiness, but she wanted to know how the story continued, so she fought her eyes open.
“Yes dear,” Heeseung placed a featherlight kiss on Jia’s hair. “I played basketball and was the best player in the world— or so Y/N thought.”
“But you don’t play anymore.” She stated and Heeseung shook his head in response “No, I don’t.” Jia yawned softly “Why?”
He sighed sadly, gulping down “Before I went to college, my mother passed away.” Heeseung held Jia a little tighter “She had leukaemia, which is a very bad thing,” He explained easily so that his daughter could understand “And I needed stability, I needed something that basketball couldn’t bring me.”
Jia looked up at him “And what could?”
“Your mother.”
⪩⪨
You couldn’t believe you learned about it two days later. That day was the date of the funeral and you weren’t by Heeseung’s side. Truth to be told, you tried to reach for him a lot in the past few days, but his brother either shrugged you off or didn’t even answer the door.
You thought you did something wrong, but it turned out his mother died due to the illness that had been haunting her for over a year.
You should’ve realised it, you should be by his side, giving him the strength he needed to get through it. Which was why you were running despite the pouring rain, trying to reach the location of the funeral.
You didn’t care if you were going to be sick the next day, your fixed thought was Heeseung and just him.
Heeseung, on the other hand, had been painfully quiet and shut down. He hasn’t comprehended yet that he was going to live the rest of his life without his dear mother, facing the troubles and sufferings of adulthood alone.
The whole room was packed with relatives he had never known about, all giving him pity glances and condolences he didn’t need. He just wanted his mother back.
Sighing, he went outside to have some time alone. As soon as he stepped outside, the cold breeze hugged his body, making him shiver. The rain made his suit wet but he didn’t really care— maybe it would take the pain away with its drain.
He stared at the night sky, the moon and the stars watching him back, probably feeling pity for him too.
His heart was heavy and black, full of grief and sorrow. He just wished you were there to make it better. You always did.
Your smile, your playfulness, your sharp tongue. He liked everything about you, even your ugliest flaw.
As he was trying to fill his dull mind with the thought of you, he saw something rushing in the streets, towards his directions.
The figure kept coming closer and closer until a familiar face was lightened from the lightbulb.
There he saw you, standing under the pouring rain, looking ever so dreamlike. There was a moment where you both just studied each other’s faces, as if you hadn’t seen each other in forever— which felt like it.
Just a couple of days without you made him realise how important you are, how much he needed you. No words were exchanged, there was no necessity, you hurried your steps toward him and hugged him, your embrace so warm in contrast with the cold weather.
Heeseung let out a sob and then another until he was crying ugly on your chest, all the tears he wasn’t able to shed until that day. You rubbed soothing circles on his chest, gripping him tightly, afraid that he would shatter right there.
“W-Why..” He weeped, his voice breaking from the trembling of his lips, due to both the cold and his crying “It— It was too early.. Why her?”
You let him rumble nonsense, knowing how heartbroken and sad he was, you just held him through the pain, hoping to at least relieve some “I know, but I am here now, I won’t leave you.”
Heeseung looked up at you, his eyes glossy, his whole body soaked and nose reddened. Perfect regardless. You stared at him, afraid that if you blinked he would disappear, and he seemed to be thinking the same thought.
You placed your hands on both his cheeks, your thumb rubbing them. Heeseung gulped down, his long lashes and bambi eyes enchanting you, so mesmerising.
You didn’t know what you were doing until you felt his hot breath hit your skin, like one of Jupiter's satellites orbiting around him, getting closer and closer to him.
And then, like a crashing wave, your lips found each other into a gentle and soft kiss, his hands raising to brush against the nape of your neck.
You let out a sigh in his mouth, his hand grasping the back of your head, tilting it to deepen the kiss. It was an anchor that he needed, something not to give up for. You wrapped your arms around his neck, bringing his body flush to yours, both of you warming the other, protecting from the darkness of the world.
He was the first to pull away, his lips swollen as he stared at you “You don’t know how much I waited for this.” He whispered, shaking his head to emphasise his words. Your whole body trembled under his touch, his expression filling with worry “Are you cold? We should—“
You shushed him by reattaching your lips together, only one kiss not enough to calm down the desire, “No,” you murmured on his lips “You just make me feel so much it’s overwhelming.” He let out a small sigh, nodding as if to say he felt the same. His heart was beating so fast he could feel it in his throat, every best spelling your name.
“Thank you for coming,” He whispered and you smiled at him “You know I wouldn’t leave you alone even if I were a ghost— Sorry!” You exclaimed, realising it was not the best time to bring up the conversation you had at the skating rink.
To your surprise, Heeseung laughed out loud and pressed his lips on your brow, ever so caring “Please, don’t ever lose it.”
Puzzled, you asked “Lose what?” Heeseung smiled, “The spark that makes you, you.”
Your breath caught in your throat, his gaze intense as he studied those same features he knew by heart. You grinned back “If I had a packet of Twizzlers, I’d give you the last one.”
Heeseung bit his bottom lip, not able to hide the way his lips curled upwards everytime he was with you. “If I had a packet of Rolos, I’d give you the last one.”
⪩⪨
“You kissed mommy?” Jia’s voice grew softer every passing minute “Yes— but you can’t let a person kiss you until you’re eighteen, understood?”
“Why?” She asked, playing with the arms of her purple teddy bear “Because I say so.”
“Is the story finished?” Jia questioned with another yawn, as much as she wanted to hear more, her eyelids were becoming heavier
“I’ll make it quick,” Heeseung started, massaging Jia’s arm. “Mommy and I started dating after that kiss, it wasn’t official because none of us was truly ready, but we both knew what we had was magical.” He smiled within himself.
“Then, we graduated from college and I proposed to her,” Jia’s heart-lips opened to resemble an o’ “With a ring?” Heeseung dipped “Yes, with a ring as beautiful as her.”
“It was an engagement ring, we made a promise to marry after university, and as soon as we got our degrees, we prepared for the big celebration— Your mother looked so perfect by the altar.”
Jia smiled sleepily, imagining how beautiful her mother must’ve looked with the wedding dress on, all candid and white “Like a queen?” Heeseung placed a kiss on her hair “Like a queen.”
“And a couple of years later, we had you.” He smiled happily. Heeseung was so satisfied with his life, and even if he had to give basketball up, he felt like he gained more. He had a beautiful wife, always by his side and a perfect daughter he’d protect with all his might (and probably throw slippers at her boyfriend’s too). His heart never felt so full of love and affection, he was accomplished.
“But the ending…“ He turned around to finish his sentence just to see Jia had fallen asleep, her breaths shallow and calm. He tugged her better under the covers, standing up from the small bed, feeling a little sore but joyful “…Still has to be written.”
He placed another featherlight kiss on her daughter’s forehead, whispering a gentle “Good night.” Before exiting the room.
He closed the door behind her back, hurrying downstairs with light steps. Heeseung saw you were still fast asleep on the couch. He removed the blanket from your figure and hooked his arms behind your neck and knees, scooping you from it.
You blinked your eyes open, your arms instinctively wrapping around his neck “Hee?” You murmured, your voice laced with sleep.
“Hey, love.” He nudged his nose with your cheek “Time to get to bed.” You hummed, snuggling closer, hiding your face in the crook of his neck.
Heeseung opened the door to your bedroom with his foot and slowly placed you down on the mattress. You opened your eyes again, staring at him through your half-lids “Jia?” Heeseung smiled reassuringly. “She’s sleeping, just finished telling her a story.”
He laid down beside you, wrapping the cover over your two figures, he shifted closer to you, holding you close “What story?” You asked, your voice hoarse “Just the best story ever.” He placed a sweet kiss on the corner of your lips
“By the way, I’m a better storyteller than you.” He bragged and you scoffed “Liar.”
“Maybe,” He chuckled, wrapping both his arms around your body “But do you know one thing I never lie about?”
You shook your head “I’d give you my last Rolo.” You smiled, he could feel it on his chest “I’d give you my last Twizzler too.”

baby honey - h.s.
a/n: long time no talk! ive had this in my drafts for the longest but didnt know how to finish it. it has a bad ending anyway but its seriously been collecting dust. i missed u guys sorry i disappeared lol. enjoy!!!!
wc: 1.9k
cw: nothing just fluff
*part of the honeyed moments universe! parts one and two here! ❤️*
“Okay Daisy baby, say cheese!” YN grinned, holding her film camera up to her right eye to snap a picture of her precious daughter surrounded by a mountain of different sized presents.
Today was Daisy’s sixth birthday, which Harry and YN basically made a national holiday. It was the day their perfect little girl was born, bringing nothing but love and light into their lives– how could they not go all out?
Harry was out getting breakfast– per the birthday girl’s request. She’d wanted pink french toast, pancakes, and pink eggs, which had Harry dashing out to the store to get food coloring and pancake mix. They were having a small get together with a couple of friends that Daisy had made back in London, as well as YN and Harry’s closest relatives and friends. It was princess themed, to no one’s surprise, and all of her aunt’s and uncle’s were assigned a princess or prince to dress up as.
YN and Harry were assigned to dress up as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Daisy’s favorite movie Tangled, while Daisy chose to toddle around in a dress that had all the famous Disney princesses on it, the skirt part of the dress covered in pink sparkly ruffles that left a trail of glitter wherever she went. YN could cry right now thinking of all the mess she’d have to clean up following this party, but the wide grin on her daughter’s face made every speck of glitter worth it.
“Mommy, y’have to get Bear in the picture!” Daisy whines, catching the attention of the puppy in the corner. Now, Y/N uses the word puppy very lightly, seeing as said puppy was as tall as her hip just standing on all fours. Y/N sighs, but calls the dog over anyway.
“Bear, come here baby,” She calls to the chocolate lab. “Good boy, okay, now sit riiiiiight here.” Daisy’s smile had grown exponentially, if it was even possible. She leaned forward a bit to place a soft hand on the top of Bear’s head, petting it softly and treating her furry best friend with the utmost delicacy.
Harry had walked in during their mini photoshoot, dropping the bags silently next to him as he leaned against a pillar that separated their dining room from the living room. He watched with a fond smile at his tiny family, his daughter in her ‘perfect princess dress’, his wife on her knees with a wide smile, a film camera held tightly in her hands, and his dog laying at his daughter's feet. He watched on, not wanting to disturb the domestic moment, though his attempt was interrupted when his perfect little Daisy caught a glimpse of him in the entryway.
“Hi Daddy!” She squealed, gaining the attention of Bear who got up to greet his dad. Harry leaned down and greeted his puppy back, scratches soothing the pup as flashes of white from his nails played hide and seek with the brown fur.
“Hello, birthday princess!” He grinned, squatting down to greet his daughter who was already running toward him at full speed. Her dress flowed behind her, glitter literally getting everywhere. Harry snorted at the grimace his wife was wearing on her features, a soft groan coming from him when Daisy had connected with his chest harshly.
“Are we makin’ pancakes, Daddy?” Oh, bless her sweet little heart. A pout was on Harry’s lips when she pulled back, his hands remaining on her back in an effort to keep his growing baby close to him.
“Of course, baby. Gotta go get everythin’ set up, though. Can y’go get washed up so we can start? ‘S gonna take me a mo’ and ‘M gonna have Mama help me.” He makes a deal with his baby, nodding while talking, Daisy mimicking his nods.
“Yes Daddy, be right back!” She zips away, running toward her bedroom with Bear in tow. Harry stands from his crouched position, walking over to meet his wife who was sat in the middle of the living room, turned to where Harry and Daisy once were.
“Hi,” He greets, sitting down on his bum in front of her, kissing her sweetly. “Got everythin’ y’wanted, Mama.”
“Mm, thank you, H. Ready t’tell our little big girl that she’s gonna be a big sister?” She whispers through a big smile, voice hushed to keep the secret as safe as possible from her daughter’s ears, even though she was out of earshot.
“As ready as I’ll ever be, my sweet Honey.” He grins, standing up out of his sitting position and offering his hands to his wife, who takes them with zero hesitation.
The two work like a well oiled machine, dancing around each other and never once accidentally bumping into each other as they prepare everything to make Daisy’s dream breakfast. They’re just about done when Daisy comes back into the kitchen, making her presence known when she knocks into the back of Harry’s legs, wrapping her tiny arms around the full of his thigh. She hangs on and giggles when he turns her around to have her sit on his foot, continuing the work with his baby wrapped on his leg like a koala bear.
Y/N has a bittersweet smile on her face, knowing this was gonna be one of the last times that was blissfully theirs, the three of them (with the exception of Bear) together before the new baby came. She felt herself getting emotional by the thought, pushing away the fact that she had yet another 6 months to wait, trying to soak in the moment even though there were gonna be more to come in the next few months.
The space is filled with loud laughter, sweet kisses, and tiny barks as they meander around the kitchen, Daisy assisting like a proper angel whenever asked. She’d gotten comfortable on the kitchen counter while her parents cooked her pink breakfast, the small speaker that was next to her blasting the Tangled soundtrack.
“Okay Peanut… I think we’re all done!” Harry said finally, plating the last of the pink pancakes and turning to his daughter who had an excited gleam in her green eyes that matched her fathers.
“Yay!” She squealed, holding her hands out for Harry to grab her. He walked up and wrapped his arms around her, twirling around when she grabbed on, filling the air with laughter.
The family walked over to the dining room, plates in YN and Harry’s hands, a jug of apple juice in Daisy’s tiny arms. They all sit around the table, two chairs on the long sides of the brown spruce table, with two fancier chairs on the narrower end parts. YN and Harry place the pink plates in the center, YN moving the vase of purple and pink peonies bought specifically for the birthday princess to the small table that held their vinyls and record player. Daisy hands the half full jug to her dad, hugging his thigh tightly before skipping to her spot on the opposite side of Harry. YN grabs the seat next to her, plopping down into the chair and turning toward her daughter, brushing her dark unruly curls back out of her face.
Settling in her chair, Daisy grins widely and shimmies in her chair in a small dance, her parents cooing and settling in their chairs as well. Breakfast goes off without a hitch, the tiny family conversing about the princess’ upcoming party. Daisy holds her tiny plastic fork in her hand as she gesticulates with her hands as she talks. Her parents have always been patient with her and let her vocalize whatever was on her mind at any point of the day, not scolding her if she even came into their room at the early hours of the morning to excitedly tell them about the dream she had. After all, she was their little miracle, and they’d do whatever it took to make her happy.
Harry and YN shared a knowing look as they approached the end of breakfast. Daisy’s princess sippy cup was almost empty, and her plate was cleared. YN clears her throat, making Daisy turn her attention to her mom. “Baby, we have something to tell you.”
Daisy tilts her head in childlike wonder, a confused expression on her face, her eyebrows furrowed and turned in toward each other. “Wha’ s’it, Mama?”
YN smiles as she reaches down between her and Harry, a tiny gift bag sitting on the floor between their chairs. Grabbing it and placing it in front of Daisy, Y/N giggles at the gasp her daughter lets out.
“A present? Already?!” Daisy squeals, grabbing the paper bag and placing it onto her lap, eagerly pulling the ribbon that held the straps shut.
“Ah- hold on, Dais,” Harry says, Daisy complying instantly. “Before y’open it, Mama and I wanna say that we love you, and want you to know that you’ll always be our sweet little girl, okay?”
Daisy tilted her head to the side, eyebrows furrowed in confusion, looking like an exact replica of her father. “Oh, um— I love you too, Daddy, and you, Mama.”
“I love you too, Dais. Okay, you can open it now.” Y/N approves, phone hidden against her chest, now recording her daughter.
“A baby doll! Oh my goodness!” Daisy squealed, holding up the box about 2 inches from her face. “Thank you Mama! Thank you Daddy!”
“Wait, peanut,” Harry started, reaching into the bag and pulling out another box, which had another doll similar to the baby. “Look! It’s a big sister for the baby doll! It’s like you, tiny!”
“Huh?” She said confusedly. “But I’m not a big sister.”
“Yes you are, Daisy girl. Or… you will be, soon at least.” Y/N grinned, not being able to contain her smile at this point.
“Wait…” Daisy collected her tiny thoughts as she tried to connect the dots, before her eyes brightened when she realized what her mother was saying. “Baby?!”
“Yeah, Dais. Mumma’s havin’ a baby!” Harry exclaimed, toothy smiles and dimples out.
“Oh my goodness!” Daisy gasps, jumping haphazardly out of her chair. “Mumma!”
“Oh, careful, sweet girl!” Y/N giggles, scooting her chair out to prop her daughter on her lap comfortably.
“Y’really havin’ a baby?!” She squawked, frantic eyes drifting between her parents.
“Yeah, peanut, we are!” Harry giggled, ruffling his daughters hair.
“This is the best present ever!” She squealed, aggressively wrapping her arms around her mother’s neck. “Thank you, Mommy, and Daddy.”
Y/N placed a hand on the back of Daisy’s head, a big pout on her lips as she turned her head to look at Harry, who matched her expression with a similar frown.
“My sweet Daisy girl, you’re so welcome. Gonna be the best big sister ever, hm?” Y/N whispered, pecking small kisses onto her head.
“The best, I promise!”

Blooming Together - Megan Skiendiel
Megan Skiendiel X Reader
Synopsis: Your girlfriend wants to wear matching costumes for Halloween.
Genre: Fluff
a/n: First time writing here! English is not my first language, so maybe this sounds like it was written by a 5 year old, but I'm trying. Megan has been my BIG crush recently, and I saw a sapphic couple dressed as Flynn Rider and Rapunzel, so I had this idea, but like, with Sky and Bloom, that's it, whatever.
"You're so boring!" Megan says as she rolls her eyes and lies in bed.
The Kats had gone out to buy snacks, leaving the couple alone talking about their halloween costumes. Megan and Yn wore casual clothes, a contrast to what they would wear later, that is, if Megan could talk her girlfriend into wearing a matching costume.
Manon, Sophia, Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae had already decided to wear matching costumes, they would be dressed up as the Winx. With Megan being Bloom, she had the brilliant idea of convincing her girlfriend to dress up as Sky, Bloom's boyfriend.
"I thought this was a Kats thing, aren't you going to record it or something?" Yn says as she joins Megan in bed, the two of them lying face down.
"Yes, we're going to do some videos, but I wanted to take some pictures with you!" Megan says as she looks at her girlfriend, puppy puppy eyes showing, she knew Yn would never say no to her big brown eyes.
Yn grumbled as she turned on the bed, now looking at the ceiling, she knew she was going to give in anyway, she just wanted it to take a little longer. This all just reminded Yn that she was wrapped around Megan's finger (not that she was complaining).
"Okay, you won, I'm going to wear the costume." Megan's face brightened and soon she was jumping on top of her girlfriend, her thighs on either side of Yn's body. Kisses spread all over Yn's face as the girl laughed.
When the kisses stopped Yn and Megan waged a war of passionate looks, the two knew they were completely weak for each other.
"Damn, how could I be so lucky?" Yn says admiring her girlfriend. They have been dating for about two months, and they could never be apart for long, it was like the universe pulled them close all the time.
"I think we're both very lucky people." Megan says as she approaches, closing the distance between they lips.
The kiss was calm, with love, and conveyed everything they felt.
At that moment everything stopped and they knew, they could never live without each other.

Part ii. Dragon Island- Eijiro Kirishima x Reader
"Y/n!" the call came. It was light, not angry; soft, and yet still somehow loud enough to hear over the crashing of waves on the old wooden fishing docks.
"Y/n?" the call came again, less sure than the first time. It sounded like an ancient hymn, floating on the ocean's fine mist, disappearing just as soon as it arrived.
"Y/n, there you are," this time the voice was just behind you. It was the voice of someone you could spend your entire life listening to. Deep and rich at the same time, tranquil but firm in its timbre.
Your gaze was fixed on the moving waters in front of you, (colored) orbs scoping out every cresting wave, waiting. The gentle touch of a hand on your shoulder draws your attention away from the sea for a split second, long enough to see who was looking for your attention.
Unnaturally white hair. Unusually bright red hair. The locks were split down the center of his head, messy around his eyes, but delicate braids danced around the nape of his neck. One eye was a deep stormy grey, the other a piercing icy blue.
His smile was as warm as the summer rain that fell in the late morning. His posture was straight yet relaxed, just as he was trained. His presence and demeanor were kind, yet stoic.
Shoto Todoroki. Your long-time best friend.
-
It all started way back. Even further than the village could remember. Your cradles after birth were almost always next to each other growing up. The two of you spent almost every waking moment together as toddlers, mainly being raised by the village elders.
The pair of you spent hours playing on the light, sandy beach looking for unique shells or conches. Hiking through the woods to find interesting colored stones and lush mosses to build forts outside of your houses became an every-summer activity.
You even snuck out to watch the young vikings train their dragons in the middle of the night with the young Todoroki boy. When the flames stopped dancing in the sky, you both would gaze up at the stars, wondering what your lives would hold.
Yes, you had other friends as well, but none of them understood you as deeply as the two-tone-haired boy who you spent every day with. You were the finest of friends, no one could separate you two.
The one thing that could twist your whole relationship with the Todokori boy was the fact that he was the chieftain's son. The Todoroki Tribe was known for finding and taming the rarest mystery class dragons, the most dangerous of dragons.
Shoto's oldest brother had managed to find and tame a gnarly male Bone Knapper, while his sister gentled a Light Fury while traveling. Even Shoto's other brother trained a Changewing that had tried attacking the village.
But Shoto didn't have a dragon. He didn't want a dragon. He loathed his father for forcing such pressure on him, to find the rarest dragon yet and force it to respect him. Shoto didn't ask to be raised as the next leader of his village.
All he ever wanted was a normal life with you, his best friend.
But while Shoto didn't have his own dragon, which was an ongoing argument he had with his father, you did. Your family loved the sea, building a home on the water's edge so you could grow up right next to its murky depths. When you came of age, it was only fitting that a dragon of the water became your own.
When you were just eleven years old, a Scauldron drakaina laid her clutch of eggs on the beach just down the shoreline from your house. She was a gorgeous turquoise-scaled dragon, and her eggs reflected her light bluish-green colors.
You watched her tend to her eggs for several weeks, even going as far as to tend to her needs. You didn't mind making sure she had enough food, you were right next to the sea. You checked to make sure the eggs were warm enough and in a safe location where they wouldn't get crushed when she left to hunt.
When her clutch finally did hatch, one of them instantly chose you. Storm. He was born a deep, steel grey color when he hatched, and the color of his scales reminded you of a summer thunderstorm.
Over time, Storm grew into a large and strong Scauldron, with thick muscle that grew from his swimming in the ocean and eventual flights with you on his back.
As you grew older, so did Storm, the two of you forming a strong connection and bond as a dragon and rider. From the start, he was always a... well, opinionated dragon.
Yet, through it all, Shoto was nothing of supportive of you and your dragon, knowing that his father would never let him have a common dragon such as yours.
Years passed as you and Storm bonded and grew up, and Shoto continued to spend time with you. He would be there to watch you ride Storm, help you teach him a new trick, or even go fishing for the dragon.
Shoto would spend as much time with you as he could to escape his lessons, being the chieftain's son. Holding a bag of fish for you, helping you fit the saddle to his body, anything he could do to be near you. You and Storm were his escape.
-
"Y/n, there you are," the voice behind you rings out, and a slow glance over your right shoulder allows you to see Shoto standing still behind you, a small leather bag slung over his shoulder.
"Hey, Sho," you say with a smile as you turn to face your best friend. "Did you bring lunch again?" you ask cheekily, trying to peak into the leather satchel on his shoulder.
Shoto's lip curls into what you can call a smirk. To the outside view, there was no change to the young man's face. A scoff falls from his lips as he moves to sit beside you on the edge of the wet docks, "You could call it that. What were you looking at? You seem kind of distracted, Y/n/n."
And distracted you were. You see, years of friendship with the youngest Todoroki boy did not leave you blind. He transformed from a boy into a teen into a man. His voice deepened, his shoulders broadened, and girls flocked to his door in hopes of catching his attention.
Shoto became evidently attractive, and while you tried to brush it off, he was a deadly combination. Sweet, maybe a little daft, and breathtakingly handsome.
A hand on your thigh catches your attention, and you jump at the warm touch, and you whip around to look Shoto in the eyes. There was concern on his angled features, a gentle furrow to his brow at the unusual scatter-brainedness of your actions.
"Are you alright?" he asks again, his low voice just barely more than a whisper as his bi-colored eyes bore deep into your own (colored) ones.
His grey eye reminded you of the scales on Storm's back. Dark, firm, unwavering. His blue eye reminded you of the sea. Piercing, knowing, deadly.
The intensity of his eyes paired with the concerned look on his face was enough for you to shake off your thoughts, placing your hand over his own. Your fingers graze his, and you take the push to thread them through his long digits.
"Just fine, Sho, I was thinking about Storm. I haven't seen him for a while since he went out hunting," is what you manage to croak out.
Shoto squints at you, uncertainty lacing his gaze. "You're lying," he states blankly as if it's a matter-of-fact statement. You huff at him in an almost-offended disbelief, turning to face the clouded blue water in front of you.
"No, I'm not," you grumble out, "I haven't seen Storm in almost two days, he usually comes back faster than that. I'm worried about him."
Shoto's grip on your thigh tightens a little bit as he squeezes the flesh there and replies, "I don't doubt that, Y/n. I think you're lying about being okay. You've been like this for a while now. What's going on with you?"
Deep down, Shoto was afraid you had found someone, or that your parents had found a nice young viking for you to get married to and you wouldn't see him anymore. You had been starting to pull away, and it scared him to death.
In reality, you were scared to death because you had just started to realize why your hands got shaky around Shoto. You had started to realize why his compliments made your cheeks burn and your voice weaken.
You liked him. But he was your best friend, you couldn't like him. He couldn't possibly like you like that... right?
You stay silent, so Shoto takes a moment to continue, "Y/n/n, I have spent every day of my life with you, I can tell when something is wrong." You regain eye contact with him, your lips parting as your thoughts raced through your head.
You could feel your heart pounding harder and harder with every second, the butterflies building and swelling in your stomach. The words were just on the tip of your tongue-
A roar splits and cracks the air open, an enormous wave of seawater heading directly for you and Shoto. You find the head of the dragon in an instant, and you let out a yell as the icy water coats you and the boy sitting next to you.
Storm lets out another roar, diving back into the water and splashing his tail in your direction, the water smacking an already drenched and shocked Shoto in the side furthest from you.
"What the hell, Storm!?" you screech as your dragon dove back into the depths of the water, peeking his head up above the surface once he swam far enough away he couldn't get scolded by you.
There's one important part about your dragon- he hates Shoto.
-
From the day Storm hatched, he disliked the two-toned head of the youngest Todoroki boy. Shoto never did anything to make the Scauldron hate him, but the steel-colored dragon always had a bone to pick with your best friend.
As a young hatchling, Storm had a tendency to nip at people who weren't you. It didn't matter if they had food or not, he was always a little tense around others. When you introduced Shoto to Storm, your dragon took it upon himself to launch at your best friend.
He had latched onto Shoto's boot, his razor-sharp teeth cutting through the new leather, and ripping it right off of his foot. Shoto had been knocked to the ground, the air pulled from his lungs.
You had immediately scolded Storm, putting him in a large cage in the corner of your room while you tended to Shoto. His sock had been shredded from Storm's teeth, but otherwise, he was left unharmed.
That first incident with Storm should have been Shoto's first clue that things wouldn't be smooth sailing anytime he tried to be with you.
When the two of you were older and allowed to roam freely, you often took hiking trips into the woods. You both still had the hearts of children, but were more competent and aware of your surroundings.
Plus, you had a dragon.
But, Storm still found a hatred for the Todoroki boy, tripping him when the paths in the woods got rocky. Shoto ended up with several rolled ankles, to which he would tell his father he was training and got hurt.
Your Scauldron would knock Shoto into the water when you would haul in the fishing nets at the end of the day. The air would have cooled off, leaving you chilled if you got wet.
Storm learned that you and Shoto hated it whenever Shoto got soaked. So he did it more and more often.
Shoto somehow put up with it. Ever patient, ever forgiving, Shoto never once tried to put up a fight against Storm or got truly angry with him. He had his moments where he wanted to get the dragon back, but he knew you would be angry with him.
Shoto had such a care for you that he couldn't take out his frustrations on your dragon, no matter how much torture he was put through.
It drove Shoto insane from the inside, but he could never show that to you. Storm was your dragon, and you loved him, and Storm loved you. Shoto knew there was no way he could get between you and your dragon, so he learned to live with it.
Shoto did try to befriend Storm, but he was unsuccessful every time. He would bring the large dragon an extra fish he caught when he dropped by your house. You showed the red and white-haired teen where to scratch the dragon's chin the way he liked.
The boy even went as far as to change Storm's bedding in his nesting stall. None of it worked. So, Shoto did his best to be kind to the dragon while not making it an apparent issue to you.
-
In an instant, your clothes were clinging to your frame, the iciness of the water chilling you to the bone. You were in shock, first at the surprise of being drenched in cold, salty seawater, but also at the fact that Storm went out of his way to be mean to Shoto.
Your mouth had dropped in surprise, the tang of salt clinging to your lips as you brushed a sopping piece of hair out of your eyes. You turned to look at Shoto, who was in a similar state as you.
His pink lips were parted open, water streaming down his face and dripping off at the edge of his sharp jaw. Shoto's hands clenched at his sides, instinctively trying to shy away from the dragon who sprayed the water in the first place.
"Sh-Shoto, are you alright?" you manage to stumble out, your teeth clacking together, out of your control. He turned to look at you, shock also evident on his features. He just shook his head once, water droplets spraying everywhere, much like a wet dog.
It took him a second to respond, but he managed to murmur, "Yeah, yeah, I think I'm good. I wasn't expecting that at all."
Once Shoto locked eyes on your drenched figure, he swallowed thickly. Every ounce of your clothing was clinging tightly to your body, outlining every curve and dip.
While you noticed the way Shoto grew up, he also noticed how you changed. He saw how maybe your height didn't change that much, but he saw your hips widen and chest fill out.
Shoto saw the way your hair grew longer and your cheeks became less round. He saw the way your lips would catch between your teeth when you were concentrated and the way your eyelashes fluttered when you laughed.
And now, a developed woman with clothes hugging your every curve, Shoto did his best to fight to pink that was rising to his cheeks at his unholy thoughts.
He had to stop those thoughts from swirling around in his mind. You are his best friend, for Odin's sake! He can't be thinking about you like a lover.
Shaking his head less aggressively again to clear his thoughts, he gently urges, "Let's get you warmed up." He pulls his hands from where they were clutching at his sides and offers one to you. You shudder as a chill washes over you, slowly grabbing his outreached hand.
As Shoto pulls the two of you into a standing position, you glance back into the water to see Storm's figure had disappeared. A lump forms in your throat at the cruelness of your dragon for no apparent reason.
Shoto releases your hand, instead, bringing it up to your shoulder. He lightly rubs at it, trying to get your attention, "Come on, grab your things." You turn back toward him and nod shakily, reaching down to grab your own small pack.
How could Storm do that? I know he and Shoto haven't always gotten along, but this is cruel, even for him.
While you got lost in your thoughts, walking up the length of the pier, you missed Shoto falling into step behind you. You didn't even notice him stalling, pulling his drenched shirt off to wring it out over the shore.
Your footstep creaking on a slippery wooden board makes you notice that it's quiet behind you, save for the crashing of waves. You look over your shoulder to see Shoto's back facing you.
Taut, lean muscle laced his back, the skin pale as porcelain, but intricate like a marble statue. Only then do your eyes catch a glimpse of his wet shirt in his hands, drops of water falling from it as his hands worked over the fabric.
Your eyes follow his back to his shoulders, pausing over the bulge in his bicep. He must have really started training hard, the thought races through your head.
Your (colored) gaze flicks up to find Shoto's piercing one already latched onto you.
Shit. He so just caught you staring.
"Sh-Shoto, what are you doing?!" you yelp out as you spin around as fast as you can. The slippery board under your foot gives way as heat rushes to your cheeks at the sight of your best friend undressing.
A million thoughts are racing through your mind as your knee slams into the wet dock, a cry falling from your lips. You don't hear his response as pain takes over as your main concern.
You hear a curse fall from Shoto's lips as he tosses his wet shirt over his shoulder, carefully making his way over to you. His hands, now cooled from the water, reach out to you as he replies innocently to your question, "My shirt was wet, I was trying to remove some of the water out of it."
He then offers you his hand, a kind look on his face. Ever the gentleman, you think to yourself as the pain in your knee radiates and then slowly dissipates away.
You scoffed internally as he pulled you to your feet, How many times have I seen him without a shirt on, and here I am making a big deal out of it?
A moment passes and the touch of his other hand on your shoulder makes you about jump out of your skin. Distracted (colored) eyes lock onto his own bi-colored ones, and you feel like a blubbering mess as your eyes dart between the grey and blue colors, and the toned, naked, chest in front of you.
Once again that day, Shoto has a look of concern on his face as he asks, "Are you alright, Y/n? This isn't all that strange, remember? Your dragon has hated me as long as I remember."
Just as you open your mouth to answer him, a large wave hits the dock again, and a split second later, you feel Shoto being ripped away from you and knocked into the water off the side of the pier. You catch sight of Storm emerging from the ocean, a scowl coming across your face as your lips part in anger.
A yell rips itself from your already opened mouth, and you lunge forward as Shoto is swept away in the current below the docks. His wet shirt landed on the pier next to your feet, thankfully, but that wasn't your main worry.
You were already nervous about it being so cool and then being drenched, but panic overtakes you as you realize what Shoto was headed straight for.
The fishing nets.
Storm flaps up and onto the shoreline a few yards away, looking proud of himself as water slides off of his deep grey scales. You turn toward the dragon, tears of anger pushing at the edges of your eyes as you scream, "Get out of here, Storm! Go away!"
The large Scauldron huffs out an angered roar, but with a few massive wingbeats, hauls himself into the air and flies toward the village. You don't wait to see him leave, instead turning your attention back to your best friend in the water.
Shoto had resurfaced and was coughing on seawater, his arms and legs caught in the holes of the netting. With his limbs tangled and airways full of water, this could be bad. You don't waste any time after that realization, and you dive into the water, aiming to stay away from the net.
Your limbs ache at the instant coolness of the water, and you gasp as you enter the icy sea. Forcing your arms and legs into motion, you aim toward Shoto as you feel your body slow down.
Limbs flailing to get closer, you call to him, "Shoto, hang out!" In a desperate grab, your fingers latch onto the edge of the fishing net, and you use all of your strength to start pulling it to a depth where you can stand.
You manage to take a deep, gasping breath when your feet feel sand underneath them, and you cry out as you tug on the net. "Are you okay?!" You manage as you pull the net through the shallows, still hearing Shoto coughing up water.
Shoto goes to answer you as you see him start to untangle himself, but all you hear is a "Ye-" before a wave crashes into Shoto's bare back. The force of the water knocks him face-first into the shallows, and you lunge toward him to try to help pull him up.
Fingers grasping for his arm, you tug him back up, hearing him spit out more water, exhausted from fighting the net, the salty water filling his lungs, and the effort of his body to keep him warm for so long.
Your fingers, now throbbing from the cold, fumble as you search your belt, the digits slow and uncoordinated. You grip the blade as tightly as you can once you find it, cutting at the tangled nets.
Shoto manages to sputter out, "Y/n, I- I'm o-okay," coughing and trying to regain his air. You finish tugging the final piece of net away from his feet, the two of you heaving yourselves out of the water.
Worry overtakes you as you regard your best friend, "Shoto, are you alright? Oh, my heavens..." Your eyes lock onto his paled face, white and red hair splattered across his forehead.
You lunge forward, catching his cheeks in your hands as your eyes detect pink water trailing down the side of his face. Shoto brings his hand up to push the hair off of his face, a small grunt leaving his mouth when he comes in contact with a scrape hidden on his forehead.
This scrape was the source of the pink water, and even more worry overcomes you, but not before the thought of how oddly handsome he looked at that moment.
Compared to his usual hair styling, the red and white locks were intertwined with each other. Pushed up off of his forehead into a messy comb-over, your breath was stolen for your lungs.
He looked devilishly handsome. It was a terrible thought to have when you should have been rushing him off to clean up his wound and put warm clothes on.
But he did. He looked so good, you couldn't help the way your mouth parted in shock as you gazed up at him.
Shoto, mistakenly thought your reaction was to the throbbing in his head, which he assumed to be a cut. "Is the cut that bad?" he asks daftly, the hand which had been running through his hair coming up to cover one of your own.
His other hand finds its place on your hip unknowingly, stabilizing his unsteady stance. You blink, your mind still reeling as you process his words, "N-no, it's not that bad. Just, uh, caught me off-guard."
Shoto's heterochromatic eyes fix on you, waiting for you to elaborate. It's quiet for a moment, with your hands on his cheeks, his hand covering your own.
He takes it upon himself to fill the silence, his hand moving to cup your own cheek, brushing a stray piece of wet hair away from your eyes. He takes a shivery breath and starts, "Y/n, I-" "Let's get warmed up," you state at the same time.
A flash of an unreadable emotion washes over Shoto's face, and you internally curse yourself for cutting him off. You open your mouth to ask him what he was going to say, but he beats you to it.
"I was going to say the same thing," he said slowly, dropping his hands from your face and side, taking a step back. You instantly retract your hands to your chest, nodding once as you glance at the ground.
Shoto doesn't say anything as he slightly limps back to the pier, grabbing his drenched satchel and his shirt, which is now soaked again. You bring your arms to wrap around yourself as you stiffly cross the beach, heading to the pier to grab your own small sack.
You move to pass Shoto, aiming for where you had been sitting on the edge of the wooden dock, but an outstretched arm stops you. You look up at him inquisitively until he rotates his palm to face you. His fingers open up, his large hand revealing your small leather sac.
"I figured it would save you the hassle," he murmurs lowly, setting it in your awaiting hands. You give him a small nod in thanks, clearing your throat to say, "We can go get warmed up at my house if you don't want your father to see you like this."
Now it's Shoto's turn to nod, gesturing with his chin, he asks, "Lead the way?" You offer a small smile before ducking your head down, trudging your way up the dock toward you home up the shoreline.
-
It was quiet at your house - it was only you who lived there, after all. You had moved out of your family home once you came of age, but you couldn't bring yourself to leave the shore.
There were still embers burning in the hearth when you pried your door open, Shoto not far behind. The two of you were quiet on the walk to your house, an unspoken tension thick in the air.
You couldn't deny it now. Your dragon was trying to drive a wedge in between you and your best friend.
A sigh falls from your lips as some weight leaves your shoulders upon entering your home. Shoto quietly closes the door behind you as you walk into the living room.
You make your way over to the hearth, trying to keep your teeth chattering to a minimum. Shoto, who was still shirtless, followed close behind.
Your hands wavering and numb from the cold, reached for small logs you had chopped a few days before. They were set off to the side so you could throw them on as needed.
Shivers start racing up and down your body as you fumble with the log, your teeth clacking together unceremoniously. "Let me," his deep voice sounds out, his hands coming into view.
He grabs the log from you, with much less shake than you, and gently tosses it on the fire. Shoto quietly grabs your shoulder, pulling you away from the fire. You willingly let him manhandle you, watching silently as he takes your place, throwing more kindling on the growing smoke, softly blowing to ignite a flame.
"Sh-Sho, y-your head," you stutter out as you catch sight of red leaking down his forehead. With the hair still pushed up out of his eyes, you could see the gash still oozing.
He turns to you, cocking one eyebrow as if to say, What about it? You shift on your feet as you motion shakily to his head, "It's s-still bleeding. We need to get it-t cleaned up. N-no sense in getting dry clothes d-dirty."
You offer him a crooked smile, clenching down on your teeth to stop them from chattering. He stands up and walks over to you, his height looming over you.
"You're cold," he states blankly, noting the blue tint to your lips and the short, shallow breaths you were trying to calm down. But he also knows you won't rest until he's cared for, watching your eyes flit between his and the cut.
Shoto sighs through his nose before whispering, "Alright, work your magic." With a slight roll of his eyes, you drag him toward your table, where you sit him down on a tall stool.
You struggle to take off your vest, which is drenched, but Shoto sits still and watches, his cheeks once again heating up at the way your clothes cling to your body.
You roam around for a few minutes, lighting a lantern to set next to Shoto, gathering a clean bucket of water, some clean towels, and a soft bandage that you could wrap his head with.
The moving around seemed to help warm you up a little, but you were still feeling chills run up and down your spine as you stopped in front of Shoto.
"This may sting a little," you mumble softly, "The seawater probably got dirt in there." It's a bit of an obvious statement, but you didn't know how else to face the tension of Shoto. As long as you've known him, he's been intense.
But he's never been intense like this.
His gaze is sharp and almost narrowed. There is a furrow in his brow that makes you almost nervous, but you know you have no reason to be.
Your own brows knit close together as you regard him, softly urging, "Shoto, is that alright?" His eyes seem to focus on you a little more at that, and he gives you a nod, straightening up a bit on the stool.
You quietly set to work, delicately pushing the hair off of his forehead and dipping a clean towel in the water. As you bring the towel up to his face, you can suddenly hear blood pounding in your ears.
A wave of butterflies washes over you when you realize how intimately close you are to Shoto's face. If he notices your pause, he doesn't say anything.
The towel makes wobbly contact with the edge of the cut, and Shoto draws back with a sharp hiss of pain, his hand reflexively coming up to pull your wrist away from his face.
A startled look comes across your face and you take a step back, trying to pry yourself away from him. Shoto realizes his mistake instantly and rushes, "Y/n/n, I didn't mean to-" "It's fine," you cut him off with a squeak.
Shoto can see the look of hurt on your face, and a part of his heart crumples at the sight. He releases your wrist, but he doesn't let you get away from him. Instead, he grabs you by both hips and parts his legs, allowing you to stand in between his thighs.
"I'm sorry for pulling away, I- I wasn't ready," he says lowly, looking up at you with a sincere look on his face. If you thought your blood was rushing before, now it is roaring in your ears.
You just bite your tongue and give him a small nod of your head, slowly bringing the rag up to clean the edge of his cut again. You feel Shoto tense beneath you with a fast breath, but he transforms his pain from pulling away to a tightened grip on your hip.
His jaw clenches as you work as quick as you can, cleaning his wound before reaching for the soft bandage you had found. Just as you finish securing it around his head, Shoto stops you.
"Do you know why Storm hates me so much?"
The question makes you halt, every part of your body going still. You stare at your best friend, your mind whirring as you wonder where this is coming from.
You shrug and start to dismiss his question, but he stands up, his presence regaining that oddly intense feel. His eyes darken and his voice lowers a notch as he repeats, "Do you know why Storm hates me so much?"
Your mouth falls slack and your mind goes blank as Shoto moves closer and closer to you. As you take one step back, he's already filling the space. Before you know it, he has you backed into a wall, his heterochromatic eyes never once leaving your (colored) ones.
"Sh-Shoto, I don't know what you're talking about," you stutter out, this time, not because of the cold. Your heart is racing, your cheeks are burning, and it's becoming harder and harder to breathe.
A dry laugh falls from Shoto's lips as he rests his arms on either side of your head, trapping you in. "You really don't know?" is all he asks, with no hint of emotion or degradation in his voice.
You shake your head left and then right, feeling an immense amount of pressure on your face. Shoto takes a deep breath to re-center himself before he asks, "Why doesn't Storm hate all of the other guys my age?"
A frown etches itself on your features as you ponder his question. Why didn't Storm hate all of the other guys in the village? Your lips fall open in thought, and you look down as you try to come up with a suitable answer.
Shoto's right hand moves from its place on the wall to cup your jaw, his thumb tucking itself under your chin. He pulls your head up slowly so that you meet his gaze again.
"Why doesn't Storm hate all of the other guys my age? What makes me so different?" he repeats, this time a little more emotion, a little more urgency.
You look at him again, and only one thought comes to mind. I can't. I can't say it's that. I don't even know if that is the reason.
"I don't know, Shoto," you start to whisper, but he cuts you off, "You're lying to me," and this time his voice is thick. You scan his face for emotion, and you finally start to see his walls caving.
His grey and blue eyes are beginning to line with tears as he repeats again, "What makes me so terrible that he treats me this way? Why am I his only target?"
Shoto shuffles, caging you in closer and closer until you have no other option than to answer him. Your mouth parts, your skin burning where his large hand has cupped your jaw, lips loose from the way your best friend is falling apart in front of you.
But he's not really your best friend, is he?
You go to talk, but there is even more urgency when he almost growls, "What did I do to him?! What did I do to you?!" As he talks, his grip on you gets tighter and tighter, and you notice tears starting to fall from his eyes.
Your eyes snap shut as you burst out, "You made me fall in love with you!" A rush of butterflies floods your stomach and you feel like you're about to throw up.
A moment passes and you wait to feel Shoto pull away, you wait for him to pull his hand away from your face and ask you what the hell you were talking about.
But instead, you hear him whisper, "Open your eyes." You tighten them and shake your head once, "I- I can't." You feel him shuffle and his grip on your face loosens, repositioning his hand to brush that wet, stray piece of hair away from your face.
"Y/n, open your eyes, please," he requests, his touch softening and his presence becoming less intense, "Look at me when you tell me you love me, so that I can say it back."
His statement has your eyes opening from where they were scrunched shut, and they are wide as they gaze up at him. Shoto has a smile on his face, tearstains running down his cheeks.
"Shoto, you-" "You made me fall in love with you, too," he murmurs, a soft huff of a laugh accompanying his words. A smile breaks out on your face as you lean into him, your hands coming up gently to brush the tears off of his delicate cheekbones.
Shoto leans into your touch as he explains, "From the moment Storm saw me, he has seen me as a threat. Dragons are much more emotionally intelligent than they let on. He always has known that I-"
And then his voice catches in his throat. Your heart swells at the emotion you hear in his voice, but you don't stop him. Shoto clears his throat as his hand works its way into your hair, "Storm has always known that I love you."
"Shoto, I am so deeply in love with you," you rush out as you lean into him, "I just never thought you would-" "I always have," he cuts you off, his voice rough and meaningful.
Shoto is looking at you like you hung the moon and stars, but as his gaze locks onto your (colored) one, it dips a little lower. Before you know it, your nose is brushing his, Shoto's breath hot on your face.
Butterflies rekindle in your stomach as you lean into him even more. Shoto is no better, his mind is only focused on you, and how badly he wants to kiss you.
Just as your lips start to graze his, there's a knock at the door. Shoto pulls back a few inches and you hear him whisper under his breath, "Fuck."
The curse word coming from your best friend, no, lover, draws a laugh from you, but you can't blame him. You had been dreaming of this moment for years. Then, a pang of nervousness washes over you as you realize - it's probably Enji Todoroki at the door.
"Fuck indeed," you whisper back as you look up at Shoto. Shoto, who is still very much shirtless and in wet clothes. You, who is still dressed in your drenched clothes, pinned against the wall.
You swallow deeply and say, "It's alright, I'll go check the door. I can say you're getting changed in my room. I'm pretty sure there's a spare set of clothes in there."
Shoto nods and begins to pull away, but something changes in his gaze, and he leans back in to press a soft kiss to your forehead. It's not what you had been expecting or wanting, but nonetheless, it makes your heart rate skyrocket again.
Shoto chuckles at the way your brain stalls, and he backs away into your room as you sway against the wall. Another knock sounds out from the front door and you call, "C-coming!"
You can hear another laugh come from Shoto at the waver in your voice. Damn Shoto, now he knows the effect he has on me. Your legs are wobbly as you walk up to your door, and you have to give yourself false confidence as you prepare to face Shoto's father.
You swing the door open and are met with silence. Confusion floods over you as you look to the left and right of your door, and there is no one present.
A frown etches its way onto your features as you call out, "Hello? Anyone there?" A moment later, loud scuffling sounds ring out from your roof, and then, Storm jumps onto the ground outside of your front door.
The large grey Scauldron holds his head low, a solemn look on his face. You let a sigh out of your nose as you look at your dragon, who was bearing the look of a kicked dog.
"Alright, Storm. I get it now. You were jealous because I didn't have eyes just for you. Come here, big boy," you say, opening your arms to his head. Storm swings his long neck and head over to you, cuddling into your frame in apology for his actions.
You hear footsteps behind you, and when you pull away from Storm, you are met with a freshly dressed Shoto. The red and white-haired man looks between you and the dragon, initially with distrust on his porcelain features, but then he gets a good look at your face.
You nod your head toward Storm as if to say, See? It's over now. Shoto slowly walks up behind you, offering his hand out to Storm in a friendly manner. Storm pulls away from you, looking at Shoto in a similar distrust.
I'm not letting this happen again, you think to yourself as you cut in, "Storm, stop it." The dragon turns to look at you, and you take a step closer to Shoto, taking his hand in your own.
"Storm, you are my only dragon," you tell him, and then you glance at Shoto with a smile and say, "But Shoto is my only person. You have to accept that he will be in my life."
Storm stares at you for a second before letting a low roar and breath out. He lowers his head to the ground again, pressing his large skull against Shoto's outstretched hand.
Both you and Shoto can't stop the electric smiles on your faces as Storm pulls away, kindly. The dragon turns to walk away, his wings spreading out on either side. In a couple of large, dramatic flaps, Storm heads back toward the village.
Shoto watches your gaze follow Storm until he disappears, tightening his grip on your hand. "Y/n/n, I think it's time you get changed. I don't want you to get sick because of me."
You turn to look at Shoto, and with a sly grin, you mumble, "But at least I'll have you if I get sick, right?" Shoto shakes his head with a smile but replies, "You'll have me regardless if you get sick."
He then gets shy for a moment as he says quieter, "That is, if you'll have me." You squeeze his hand before letting it go, and you see a moment of panic flash across Shoto's face.
But you wrap your arms around his neck, your fingers threading through the drying locks at the base of his head, finding the damp braids on his nape. You smile up at him gently as you lean into him slowly, "You made me fall in love with you, Shoto. I will have you in whatever ways you give me."
And that was enough incentive for him. One of Shoto's hands finds its place on your jaw, while the other grabs at your waist. The clothes are damp under his touch, but he doesn't seem to mind.
Shoto tilts your head back, moving quickly at first, his mouth chasing yours. But just as his lips go to brush over yours, he slows down. His nose brushes against yours, and a shaky breath falls from your mouth as you await his kiss.
Shoto lets out a sigh, "I will have you in every way, but you need to get in dry clothes first. I have waited my whole life to kiss you, I can wait a few more moments."
A groan builds up in your throat, but you comply, pulling away from him slowly and starting toward your house. You turn and look over your shoulder, calling out, "Shoto Todoroki, you will be the death of me."
Shoto smirks and faces you, calling back, "And befriending your dragon will be the death of me."

I See the Light ||
|| Poly!plastics x nonbinary!reader
(i myself am poly!)
|| Warnings: heavily Regina focused, only mentions poly!plastics, some swearing, hinted at smut, absolute fluff, brief mentions of stage fright & anxiety
|| Summary: Regina's auditioned for the school play; Tangled as the role of Rapunzel. She gets it, of course. Only problem is the boys auditioning for Flynn Rider don't have a spark with her. It's so bad to the point where the play director considers dropping the play, reader steps in and saves the day.
(anon request)
Requests open!
Started: April 27th
Finished: April 28th
~~~
Regina had been working hard to audition for the role of Rapunzel in the upcoming school musical play; Tangled. The girls helped her rehearse, each taking various roles. You played the role of Flynn Rider during Regina's practice sessions.
When it came to audition time, Regina got the role. Of course. Why wouldn't she? She's Regina George. Rehearsals were going well, everything was going their way. Until the night right before the big showcase.
The guy who had been casted as Flynn Rider got sick; because of course if anything could go wrong it would be the love interest not being available. None of the guys had the right chemistry with Regina. You watched from the seats as guy after guy tried playing the perfect Flynn Rider to match Regina's Rapunzel. Nobody seemed to have the right spark. Everyone was getting stressed out.
Including the casting director, who was fidgeting with his clipboard next to you. Why was it so hard? Surely there was at least one guy that could both sing and match Regina's energy.
Three more attempts pass before the casting director decides to call it quits for today and they would try again tomorrow. How they'd pull it off in time for the play, they weren't sure. At this point the director and casting director were beginning to think they should just postpone it.
From where you sat, you could see the disappointment in Regina's face. You knew how hard she had been working towards this.
You get up and join Regina on stage, she glances at you and sighs.
"The boys in this school are bunch of talentless dumbasses." Regina complained, folding her arms across her chest. You stifled a laugh.
"That's certainly one way to put it. I can't believe none of them passed." You replied, draping your arm around Regina and pulling her into your side. You would have kissed her forehead, but the problem was nobody at school knew you part of the plastic's polycule.
Yeah, they knew you were associated with them. But they didn't know anything else beyond that. You weren't ready for them to know.
Regina suddenly gets an idea and looks directly at you, finger quickly pressed your chest. You tense at the sudden movement and raise an eyebrow at her in confusion.
"What..?" You ask, not sure what got her excited all of a sudden.
"You!" Regina says, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. You?
"Me..? Me what?" You weren't catching what she was putting down.
Regina noticed how slow you were to catch on and groaned," you could be my Flynn Rider!"
"Uh, Regina- hold on-" You stuttered out, completely taken aback. You? As Flynn Rider? In front of the whole school? Yeah, you weren't sure your stage fright would agree with that.
Sure, you were good when you were helping Regina rehearse. But that's because it was just you and your girlfriends. That was easy. This? This was a whole different level of preforming you weren't ready for.
"Oh come on, baby! Please?" Regina gave you a soft look which made your heart melt. Sighing deeply, you thought about it. Regina George really did have you wrapped around her finger; a moment ago you wouldn't have even had to think twice about the thought of being on stage. Now? You were at least considering it. Regina continued with trying to persuade you, after all she knew all the right buttons to push with you." Maybe... there'll be something in it for you as a little thank you~" It was the way her voice suddenly switched into that lower, suggestive register that made your head spin.
You stuttered out a response, but it was too fast and jumbled for either of you to understand what you had said. Your cheeks turned red and Regina laughed.
"That's a yes." She smirked at you and snapped her head towards the casting director, who was in a deep conversation with the director.
"I got a Flynn Rider!" She shouts, getting their attention and shoving you out in front of her. You nearly stumbled but she kept a grip on your wrist.
Their eyes went to you and your whole body tensed, they shared a look.
"Might as well give them a chance. We don't have much time to find a replacement." The casting director said, the director nodded and sighed.
"Do you know the lines for 'I See the Light'?" The director asked you, you nodded. You had it memorized from how much you had helped Regina with audition preparation," Preform that scene for us."
You and Regina got into your respective positions and Regina started off the song. Her voice was beautiful, every time you heard her sing you couldn't help but be absolutely enthralled by her. A smile spread on your lips, anyone who looked at you could see that starry, dreamy eyed look on your face.
When her eyes met yours, sparks flew. The directors could tell.
You started your part of the song and they were pleasantly surprised by you, any anxiety you had had about this before just faded away as you and Regina hit the duet portion. Hands held, staring into each others eyes as if you were the only people on the whole planet.
The rest of the cast had stopped their various tasks, just watching the two of you in awe. Most people were recording the whole thing, which meant it got spread around to tiktok and other various platforms.
Examples of some of the things being said about you and Regina;
@ randomstudent69: get you a man that looks at you the way Y/N L/N looks at Regina George
@ otherbitch41: FLYNN RIDER WORSHIPS RAPUNZEL AND HERES PROOF
@ idkmanijustexist: i dont know which i would rather be
@ somebodyshere11: i know they've fucked i just cant prove it
By the end of it all, you were really fighting the urge to just kiss Regina then and there. You weren't ready to be publicly out, so you held yourself back but God you were going to kiss her when you guys got home.
Your grin was uncontrollable as you just continued to stare into her eyes, her mirroring your expression with an uncontrollable smile of her own. Something that you usually only got to see behind closed doors.
The casting director and director shared a look with each other and nodded.
"Well, that's settled. L/N is our Flynn Rider." The casting director made a note on his clipboard.
There were so many whispers going around from the cast but you just didn't care, not when Regina was looking at you the way she was.
By the time you got home, you made damn sure to make out with your amazingly beautiful girlfriend.
~~~
When it was finally showtime the next day, everything went perfectly. You and Regina were the best possible match.
Karen and Gretchen were watching from the crowd, front row seats with Cady next to them. Gretchen made sure to record everything so you guys could see just how amazing you were. She also made snippets for your guys shared tiktok account.
After it was all over, you didn't even have to come out. People knew you were in the polycule without you even having to say it. The chemistry you and Regina had on stage completely gave it away.
