TWO New Books!
Tumblr media
Announcement: I have two new books coming out in 2021. EEK!
One is called Time for School. It is all the games I have been playing with Ewan since he started school to support his learning from home. Of course, they are all simple, quick and easy five minute games which are for spellings, reading, phonics, times tables, number bonds etc. As well as some of the tips and tricks I’ve picked up…

Top Tips when Traveling with a baby
1) Call the airline and request a bassinet for your baby. There are a couple of dedicated rows for this and even if they can't confirm the seat for you on the spot, it's good to have the request in there.
2) Consider carrying a backpack instead of a diaper bag. We used a mommy hook to secure the backpack onto the stroller so it wouldn't fall off. This is also essential if you're traveling alone.
3) We traveled with our snap-n-go and carseat so we could cab it to the airport, drive around in cars at our destination, and cab it back home. We used the stroller all the way up until we had to board. At which point we put our LO in the ergo, put the backpack on, and checked in our stroller at the gate.
4) Change the baby as soon as you get on the flight. There's plenty of time to do this since you're usually the first to board, and people are still piling into the plane.
5) For any area that you or the baby will touch, wipe it down with a disinfectant wipe. And get rid of the blanket and pillow they give you. They're disgusting and never get washed.
6) Ask the flight attendant to put any breast milk or bottles on ice for you. But keep a bottle ready for takeoff so the baby can pop his ears by drinking milk when the plane is rising in altitude.
7) Take a cutip dipped with petroleum jelly or neosporin and line the inside of your baby's nostrils. It helps germs get caught before going into the body.
8) Use the neck pillow as a boppy - this works great for babies around 5-6 months. For babies 6+ months, pack a standard sized pillow, fold it in half, and stuff it into a Gap bag (it's great because it has a drawstring that closes the bag at the top). Lay the pillow across your lap and let the baby relax and sleep there - it's great if you don't get the bassinet.
9) If you don't have a bottle of water you bought near your gate, gulp down water whenever the flight attendants come by with it. You can't use the tray tables with a baby in your lap, so you need to gulp and go.
10) Other helpful things to carryon: ZIPLOCK BAGS, NAPKINS, a bottle of water, a few toys, a book, puffs, baby food, extra spoons, bibs, hand sanitizer, an extra pair of clothes in case of pee/poo accidents, extra diapers, extra wipes.
11) Sleep when the baby sleeps! We watched some great movies while our LO was down, but we were exhausted and felt the movies weren't worth our precious rest.
12) Thank everyone profusely. At some point, you will need the help from neighboring passengers...whether your child is flinging toys across aisles, or crying nonstop because he only wants to play peekaboo with the person behind you...when you're appreciative, people don't seem to mind as much.

Things I Learnt on Holiday
Things I Learnt on Holiday
Tumblr media
Now let me preface this. I HATE flying. I have a morbid, awful, phobia of it. I have a variety of techniques to help me cope with this and refuse to let it stop me and the kids seeing the world. However, it means we don’t fly abroad often so I’m certainly no seasoned expert. There are plenty of other bloggers out there with tips on flying with babies or other ways to cope, pack, entertain etc.…
