What’s the best way to plant bulbs for vibrant spring blooms?

To ensure vibrant spring blooms, follow these steps when planting bulbs:

Choose the Right Bulbs Pick healthy, firm bulbs like tulips, daffodils, crocuses, or hyacinths. Make sure the bulbs are suited to your climate and planted according to their blooming season.

Plant at the Right Time Plant in fall (before the ground freezes) to allow roots to develop during winter. Ideally, plant bulbs 6-8 weeks before the first hard frost.

Select the Right Location Bulbs thrive in well-draining soil and sunny areas. Avoid spots with standing water to prevent bulb rot.

Prepare the Soil Loosen the soil to a depth of about 12 inches. Mix in organic matter (like compost) for better drainage and nutrition.

Plant at the Correct Depth As a rule of thumb: Plant bulbs two to three times deeper than their height. For example, a 2-inch bulb should be planted 4-6 inches deep.

Place the Bulbs Correctly Pointed end up! This helps the shoot grow in the right direction. Space bulbs 3-6 inches apart to give them room to grow.

Water Well Water the bulbs right after planting to help settle the soil. After that, water sparingly until growth starts in spring.

Mulch for Protection Add a layer of mulch to insulate the bulbs and prevent weeds.

Mark the Area Use markers to remember where your bulbs are planted, avoiding damage during winter maintenance.

Kanade is still a composer, and she came across the garden whilst looking for flowers to give to her dad while he’s in hospital. She found the garden really beautiful, and wrote a song about it. She now spends her free hours when she isn’t composing in the garden, admiring the flowers.

Ena is an artist who found the garden and started painting all the different kinds of flowers. She likes that she has a happy place where she can be alone, and was the first to encounter a flower sprite (Virtual Singer), Daffodil Rin, whilst painting. She’s shown her paintings to her dad, but they don’t impress him too much.
