Westward Ho! Cincinnati Men Caught The California Gold Fever In 1849
It took a long time in 1848 for news to travel from California to Cincinnati. Gold was discovered at Sutter’s Mill, northeast of San Francisco, in January of that year, but Cincinnatians remained blissfully unaffected by gold fever until the middle of September.
By December 1948, Cincinnati merchants were placing advertisements in the local papers, offering camping and mining supplies to young men heading westward. As the new year of 1849 dawned, Cincinnati was fully possessed by visions of gold. Local newspapers printed dozens of announcements similar to this one, from the Commercial Tribune [23 February 1849]:
“A party of enterprising gentlemen of this city, completed their arrangements yesterday, packed up their trappings, and took passage on the steamer Chief Justice Marshall, for California. They design to sail from New Orleans, and either cross the Isthmus, or take the land route, via City of Mexico. The choice of these routes depends on contingencies. The party is composed of the brothers Moses, Mr. Collins, jeweler, and Messrs. Varney, Light, Vater, and the brothers Fagan.”
The Cincinnati Commercial [9 March 1849] reported on a company of 20 Cincinnatians setting out on the overland route to California, with a plan to cover expenses by selling gunpowder:
“They take with them one hundred kegs of powder, which on their arrival will be distributed, five kegs to each man – thus furnishing each a handsome capital to start on.”
In April, the “Independent Pacific Dispatch Company,” composed of 25 Cincinnati men, departed, also on the overland route. They loaded their pack mules onto the steamboat John Hancock, bound for Independence, Missouri, where they would commence hoofing across the continent.
As a major port along the Ohio River, Cincinnati not only witnessed local boys departing for the gold fields, but steamboats full of similarly determined young men passing through town. The Commercial Tribune [14 April 1849] was agog at the mass of virility floating westward down the Ohio:
“The tide of emigration to California is, in its extent, beyond all historical parallel; and will, in future times, stand prominent as the great event of the Nineteenth Century.”
Many of those adventurers, especially those from rural districts, stopped in Cincinnati to stock up on the supplies required to operate a basic gold-mining operation. Our shopkeepers were delighted to welcome the business. Gustav Sellin, purveyor of tin goods, advertised a gold-washing machine “of the most ingenious construction,” along with wash bowls, scoops and strainers. Philip Pike touted his “Imitation French Brandies, Holland Gin, Rum and Wines,” guaranteeing that a thousand-dollar investment in his beverages could be recouped for twenty times that amount in the thirsty gold fields. Miller Cornelius Sanders Bradbury boasted about his novel “steam-dried flour” warranted not to sour or get moldy for two years – ideal for the long trail westward.
Some Cincinnati businessmen just surrendered and joined the migration. Real estate mogul Thomas Hurst put a flour mill out near Sedamsville up for sale along with eight houses in the city. He was, as they say in the trade, a motivated seller. He closed his advertisement with this explanation:
“As I am making preparations for California, application should be made soon.”
Once folks arrived in California, they often discovered that panning for gold was not exactly as advertised. For instance, Benjamin Cory (Miami University Class of 1842, Medical College of Ohio Class of 1845) was busily engaged trading clothing to Native Americans in exchange for gold. Called to attend to a wealthy ranchero, Doctor Cory found himself trapped. In a letter home, Cory complained:
“My patient is quite smart this morning; he says I shall not leave him till all danger is over. ‘Charge what you please, Doctor,’ he says, ‘and it shall be paid; here is my ranch, with its horses, cattle, &c. &c. and I have a good large bag of gold.’ I am sorry, dear brother, that I ever had doctor stuck to my name; it is more trouble than profit; I am vexed to death; I tell people that I can get more gold in the mountains by digging and trading, than my conscience will permit me to charge my patients.”
Doctor Cory ended up doing okay for himself. The 1909 Miami University alumni directory notes that, before he died in 1896, he was elected to the first legislature of the new state of California in 1850 and had a distinguished medical career in Santa Clara and San Jose.
Joseph Talbert, a carpenter, who left Cincinnati in February 1849, wrote home that his traveling party of fifty had arrived safely in the gold fields. Talbert, however, after trying to mine gold for a couple of weeks, learned he could make more money as a carpenter, building cabins and gold-washing sluices than he could actually trying to find gold.
The Guysi brothers quit their jobs at B.F. Greenough’s lamp oil distillery on Main Street and endured a sea voyage of 160 days to round the tip of South America. They arrived in a San Francisco of 30,000 souls mostly housed in tents and suffering from dysentery. The only water available was polluted with copper, a spot of ground large enough to pitch a tent rented for $150 a month, and gambling was rampant. At least one of the brothers, Jacob, stuck it out; he was buried in the hills overlooking San Francisco Bay when he died at age 79 in 1906.
Joe Heywood had a solid career and sterling prospects here in Cincinnati. He was a butcher by trade, and regularly made the newspapers for the quality of his provender and the skill with which he decorated his shop. He was repeatedly referred to as a very handsome man who cut a dashing figure as a volunteer fireman. He was also known as a dependable “b’hoy” – a tough character – in the days when volunteer fire companies battled over which would put out the fire and collect the insurance money. Still, the Cincinnati Commercial of 9 January 1849 recorded the westward emigration of Heywood, along with Mathias Oliver, James Wilson, Alexander Burns and James McAlpin, all stalwarts of the “Rovers” fire company.
While most young men trudged west in hopes of sending pounds of bullion home, Heywood had no intention of digging anything once he got to California. Instead of packing a pick and shovel, Heywood had 1,500 cards printed to announce his business as a butcher and provision merchant. He seems to have succeeded admirably. After a sea voyage of 156 days, Heywood arrived in San Francisco and set up shop. A letter from a fellow firefighter reported that Heywood replicated the annual Cincinnati Christmas meat parade at his shop that December. Heywood himself wrote a long letter home describing his adventures aboard the ship and promising to write as soon as he could to “Lizzy.” He must have been persuasive. Joseph Heywood and Miss Eliza L. Hensley of Cincinnati were joined in matrimony on 1 July 1856 at San Francisco’s International Hotel.

Without a seat, Dresden stands tall
By Jonathan Monfiletto
Nowadays, the shores of the Finger Lakes are no strangers to development, whether someone is building a private home or establishing a business. In the late 1700s and early 1800s, these areas were ripe for settlement as once British subjects turned American citizens began pushing the boundaries of their new country westward.
Around the time the new country went to war again, in 1812, the western shore of Seneca Lake became the site of a major development when two Geneva land speculators bought what is described as 806 heavily-wood acres between the lake and the Pre-Emption Line. Harmon and Isaac Bogert, brothers, improved the land they had purchased, laying out streets and lots and turning this forest into a community. This development remains Yates County’s only planned community, and it was one of the first hamlets in the area.
It is said by several sources the exact origin of the community’s name is lost to time, but initially it may have been called Bogertsville or Bogerts Landing after the two brother developers. When German immigrants moved into the community, perhaps something about it reminded them of their homeland, and they gave it the name we know it by today – Dresden.
In fact, it is said there was a meeting to name the community, and during a lull in the meeting one of the Germans was asked what he thought of a name. The man reportedly responded he came from a city in Germany where the people made china and called in Dresden china. Others in the room liked the sound of the name, and so it stuck and the community was named after the German city.
Even the name Dresden comes from a Greek word meaning “place of peace.” Perhaps that name is fitting for a small, rural lakeside community as well.
By 1820, Isaac Bogert had moved to Dresden and built a home, store, and flouring mill on Seneca Street. Similarly, Harmon built a brick home for one of his daughters on Cornelia Street, near the lake. Five years later, the brothers’ development could boast a gristmill, sawmill, distillery, fulling mill, ashery, and two carding machines, all powered by the Keuka Lake Outlet at whose mouth Dresden is situated.
In addition to plotting streets and lots in their development, the Bogerts also had created land for three public squares along Main Street. Grosvenor Square overlooked the Seneca Lake from the intersection of Main and Cornelia streets, while Washington Square stood a couple of blocks to the west at the intersection of Main and Geneva streets. The third square was located halfway between the village and the former hamlet of Hopeton.
When Yates County was formally established in 1823, it was thought this easternmost square, on the high ground with a view of the lake, could make Dresden the county seat by offering land for the county buildings. This honor, of course, eventually went to the village of Penn Yan, and Maude A. Norman states “disagreements between the parties, and other causes” led to Dresden losing out.
Meanwhile, Frances Dumas expounds on these disagreements by suggesting a few versions of what happened. One story states the Bogerts sought $1,000 per acre from county officials to establish the county seat in their development, while another story states the Bogerts refused any deal at all with the county. Still another version goes that Isaac Bogert was so sure Dresden would be chosen as the county seat he didn’t even leave his store to show the officials around, apparently not leaving a good impression.
Nevertheless, not gaining status as the county seat didn’t impede Dresden from becoming important in the life of Yates County, at least for a period of time. After the Crooked Land Canal was completed in 1833, Dresden experienced a boom. With its western terminus at Keuka Lake in Penn Yan and its eastern terminus on Seneca Lake in Dresden, the canal connected anyone around Keuka Lake with the rest of the world through the Erie Canal. Thus, Dresden turned into the grain market for the surrounding countryside.
With the canal’s influence, Dresden grew up with several more businesses, such as hotels, stores, and various industries but also with a drydock and boatyard for building canal boats and storehouses for keeping goods ready for transport. And its location along the power-generating outlet meant the community continued to be an industrial center for the county; between 1850 and 1870, it is said, the community enjoyed its greatest period of prosperity as its factories flourished.
In 1867, Dresden officially incorporated as a village when 45 residents signed a petition to do so. At that point, records showed Dresden to have 372 people living in its borders, perhaps the largest population it has had in its existence. Luther Harris was the first president of the village, an office equivalent to mayor today.
Ten years later, when the Crooked Lake Canal was abandoned, the village fell into a period of decline since it no longer served as a midpoint between the north-south railroad and the canal for the shipment of goods. Rather, the Fall Brook Railroad was built over the obsolete canal’s towpath and came to Dresden at a junction with the North York Central Railroad. Still, people did find employment in Dresden with the railroads as the village remained a place where goods were moved.
By 1907, the once-vibrant industrial and shipping center seemed to be nothing more than a place where two railroads met. Even then, by 1972, the railway along the former canal was washed out by a flood, and in 1980 the tracks were torn up for good. In 1981, even the Dresden depot was taken down, leaving nothing but memories.

Diary of a Junebug
Hanging around an old timey town
If I were to describe Tenney in one word, it would be cloudy. Idyllic would probably be more accurate, but I feel like that’s too vague. Cloudy’s a bit of an unusual description, I admit - especially when it's not used to describe the weather.
What I mean by cloudy is that it’s a charming, almost dreamlike place. Like a mix of cottagecore aesthetics with the gardens and woodland creatures as well as colorful pictures of the sky in various shades of pastel. Imagine sitting outside, surrounded by flowers underneath a colorful sky, getting lost in a book while the breeze blows gently in your direction and the sun beams gently from above.
When you visit a place like Tenney, a day trip does not do it justice. No, in order to get the full idyllic, cloudy, and zen experience, you need to be there for at least two days. A short escape to turn to when you need a break. Spending the hours doing mundane stuff that’s rewarding really goes a long way.
I’m here with Jenny, Clarry, Lyndi, and Louie, who are in need of a vacation. The four came over from Chariott, where they were helping their uncle Ludwig move into a new house.
Ludwig is what happens when you combine a mad scientist, a chaotic inventor, a mischievous magician, and a disaster bisexual into one lanky bespectacled guy. He’s either super brilliant or beyond baffling or somewhere in between. Either way his chaotic energy is contagious. Pretty much everyone in he’s ever spoken to told him “Ludwig no!”, in which he responds with “Ludwig yes!” and the results wildly vary depending on whether or not explosions were involved.
So the family has been spending the past week helping Ludwig bring various gadgets and gizmos from various labs scattered across the globe as well as some that are outside of that scope. After spending over a decade as a traveling adventurer/scientist, Ludwig decided that it was time to finally settle down. Chariott was his second choice, a remote island off the Diamond Coast, not too far from uncharted territory. His second choice was Rainbow Shores, another remote island, but it’s one of many places where he’s sorta banned from - meaning he can visit but not overstay his welcome.
Not surprisingly, Ludwig underestimated how many labs he set up so Jenny called up some reinforcements like Isabelle and us campers. Turns out he has a base not too far from Wizpire so we spent a day there packing all his stuff. While I find Ludwig’s stuff to be fascinating, going through everything and putting them in boxes felt like sticking my hand in a sink full of dishes to find utensils and not knowing there’s a knife in there. A couple explosions aside, it went smoothly.
Louie and the triplets have been helping Ludwig for two and a half weeks straight. Finally, two days ago, they were done. The place is still a mess, but Ludwig has his own ways and insisted that his nieces and nephews take a break.
That’s why I planned this trip for them. Then after spending a couple days at Tenney, they’ll be staying at the campsite on the newly renovated second floor of the cabin for a week. Knowing Jenny, she’s made a mile long itinerary, and knowing her sisters and cousin, they won’t stick to it. I’m sure we’ll find a happy medium.
We left Chariott around 5 am with Jenny insisting on driving the whole way since the others were passed out in the back. I offered to take over but she declined, which I didn’t mind too much since she’s a morning person and I’m not. Though I feel kinda bad for having her drive since she’s supposed to be relaxing - then again, she does find driving relaxing, especially on a day like today when there’s no traffic and we’re taking the scenic route.
From Chariott to Tenney, the drive took about three hours. Once we got settled in the Bed and Breakfast, we were ready to take on the day!
One of the things I love about Tenney is the outdoor workshop classes it offers. From cross breeding flowers to hand lettering to culinary arts to building carriages - there’s no limit to what kind of new skills you can pick up!
We went to a morning workshop session, where Jenny and I made journals. As in we made our own paper, made the covers with linen we designed, hand stitched the pages - literally the whole thing is made from scratch! It’s a lot of work, but I enjoyed it a lot. Clarry made a bunch of cute stickers while Lyndi and Louie hung out at the beach, where we met up after we finished making our creations.
Around noon we set up a picnic at the beach, taking the time to enjoy the sights and sounds surrounding us. The food, like pretty much everything in this town, is made from scratch. Fragrant jasmine rice from the fields, fruits and veggies picked at the peak of ripeness, flour from the wheat fields to the mill - it’s amazing how much work is put into everything!
A while ago I started following Lia Yi, a vlogger from Tenney who makes videos about her everyday life. Watching her bake bread or work on her garden or using her handmade paints to decorate a canvas while classical music (pieces composed by her) plays in the background is super relaxing. We had the pleasure of meeting her while taking a stroll in the community garden, where she gave us a tour and showed us her latest projects.
After lunch we stopped by the library, which looks like a greenhouse except it’s full of books, and hung around the lounge for a couple hours. Lying on a branch surrounded by vibrant greens and pastel pinks while on my laptop listening to music and scrolling social media makes me feel like I’m one of those lo-fi girls. Speaking of which, I’ve been really into lo-fi lately and it’s been doing wonders with my creative output in terms of art journaling.
Then we headed to the orchard/bakery where we picked fruits and made pastries. It was super cool to see how much work goes into making lemon poppyseed muffins and cherry pies because, like I said, everything is made from scratch! We also learned how to make lingonberry jam, rose, and ice wine, which was super cool as well.
The villagers are always more than happy to show us around and teach us how to make stuff, another reason why I enjoy visiting Tenney. Even making dough at the bakery (something I have a love/hate thing with) was more relaxing than usual. Something about going back to our roots and doing things the old fashioned way - I guess doing all this stuff by hand is kinda like a form of mindfulness.
Before we knew it, night had come. Since we were at the bakery, we made dinner paired with rose and dessert. A quick trip to the B&B to drop off the jam and wine crates and a walk around town square followed, leading to a two hour karaoke session at the rec center.
Clarry’s latest hit, Somewhere in Your Mind, was one of the selections on the machine, which she found flattering. When she came up to sing it to see what would happen, a couple villagers immediately recognized her and she gave her fans the VIP treatment.
It took a couple cocktails but Clarry convinced me to step up to the stage and sing some tunes. I like watching people sing karaoke but ask me to go up there I’d be like no way. Unless I’m in a group and/or slightly buzzed, then maybe.
So we hung out at the rec center until it closed around 1. After karaoke, we went to the arcade, where Louie and I fought to the death in a sword fighting game, Jenny had to wrestle Lyndi away from a VR game when things got too intense, and Clarry beat the high score in a ukulele game.
Then we got back to the B&B, where we hung out a bit at the lobby sharing drinks and stories for about an hour before heading off to bed. Jenny’s starting an internship at Viola Francois in August and she’s super hyped about that. Clarry has been busy with her newest songwriting partner on her upcoming album planned to be out next year. Lyndi started getting into tik toks and has been making a bunch of vids that have gone viral. And Louie’s taking it easy after surviving freshman year at Seashore Path as well as reconciling with his uncle, who he has a love/hate relationship with.
Maybe it’s because I’m super tired, but this bed feels like I’m floating on a cloud. The mattress’s even kinda lumpy like one - and super soft too, I must say.

The journey of my parents
A man who loves watching movies after bunking school, a man who after a busy day wants to relax alone by watching movies are some of the rarest qualities of my dad.apart from that a very short temper man who got angry on very tiny things were other few things about my dad.My dad loves to travel and visit new places. He dont like to sit at home.
My dad was born at pulgaon in a middle class army family of 6 siblings 2 brother and 4 sisters. He grew up in Durg.My dad is the 4th one having 2 little sister than him.His DAD means my grandfather was the strict one and my Dadi (grandma) was the rescuer for my dad.
In his initial years he was a child who was not so keen in studies though he did his ITI, but his passion was on the art in which he is still a pro.
When he grew up he was a normal guy who has no vision in his life.he was pretty cool and easy I guess in watching movies and enjoying life.
Like all Indian in those days says and do,"Iski shaadi kara do sudhur jaega"
The same things happened and my mom gets entry in the life of my dad.
My mom is a cool and calm lady she is very soft spoken and a very understanding lady..In short just opposite to my Dad.
My dad was lucky enough to get such a wife who stood by him in every thick and thin of the situations.
By now you might be thinking I have not uttered a single good quality about my father, then what made me write this blog.
Here is a real story or we could call a real struggle of my dad.
My grand parents opened him a cycle repairing shop and purchased some rickshaw for renting it and this was his 1st job which he was doing at the time of marriage. After few months it dint work out he closed that shop and moved to Hyderabad. Based on his ITI he got some job in Hyderabad where he stayed for few months and had a great time as told by both my mom and dad. They use to go movies and visit different places of Hyderabad. Then again he came back to to Durg for no reason leaving job from Hyderabad.
He stayed few days in Durg and one fine day he thought of leaving Durg as well due to some family issues and his angry nature. he left Durg and shifted to Tumsar (a village at maharashtra) with wife and 2 sons me and my elder brother.
He moved to Tumsar started a TV repairing shop. He was good in his work as I have also learnt repairing most of the things from him.But problem with him was that he was kind hearted or he dint have the business blood in him. He could not charge properly. For example When he repaired a TV it would have costed him 5 rs to replace the parts and 30 rs of effort and balance 15 rs of profit.
But his conscience did not permit him to charge 50 rs from the customer rather he charged rs 20 only ignoring his effort.while the others might be charging 100 bucks for that.some how things were going well. Along with TV repairing shop my mom also opened a shop at the home to support my dad. at that time I was probably 2 and my brother was 4.we were somehow surving at that place.
After few months my grandfather came to visit us.He requested my mother to convince my dad to come back to Durg.
Finally my dad agrees to this and we again came back to Durg.
You people must be thinking how random we both came in the world without even a intro on the beginning. This is how it was actually.
To be very frank all the above fact are those that I have heard of about my dad
Here comes my version of my dad which I have seen and now narrating.
As we return to Durg( as we return to india in present scenario lol)my grand father gifted us a house worth 35K it was huge at that time , I am talking about 1989.It was a hall and a kitchen with little open space.
We started with a idli machine were by people come up with the soaked rice and dal for grinding it for preparing idli.
Dad was looking for the new opportunities as TV repairing was out of question as he could not charge properly and moreover my bade papa(his elder brother ) was pro in that. Few day later a lady came to our house for grinding that idli paste seeing my mother she asked her " Is this sufficient to survive " my mom replied No, we are looking for some opportunities.
Then that lady told "my husband is a bank manager ,meet him once "
They both visited the manager and he agrees to give him a loan to purchase flour mill. The formality in those days were huge ,I still remember my mom use to cook a idli for us in the morning and lock us in the room and they both went knocking office to office for complying with the loan and machine installation formalities . That was the real struggle.
You people might have seen a show called "office office " where the muasddilal has to go office to office for getting his work done .the same thing has been experienced by us. Though the manager was kind to us but he also need to comply with the procedures.
Finally we got the flour mill and it was named after my mother "Chandrika atta chakki"
Things started for us. We repayed the loan took a second loan for the expansion of the business and purchased further two machines spices and Big grinding machines.
All this things were installed in the same house that my grandpa gifted us.
The hall turned out to be a shop. A open space was converted into a room were mom dad use to sleep in the night and we sleep at the hall(shop) at the night.
At the same time we were also getting older and mom dad had the ambition that they dont want to see there children suffer when they grew old. So they decided to get them the best possible education for them. They get us enroll in one of the best school of Durg ie in vishwadeep sr sec school.
The fees of that school was huge for us.they could have easily get us educated in a government school and led a normal life but they choose struggle from them and peaceful life for us in our future.
Emotions apart , we were getting old and the house was also small for us.then my mom decided that she want a room for there children, convince my dad to built a 1st floor though they were having no money.but my dad agreed.
My Nanaji who was a real gentleman a retired govt employee helped us so many times with money and moral support helped again for the construction and in the due course of that, many others helped us with loan to built a house. Two new rooms added in the first floor.
By this time I was in 6th and my brother was in 10th
Flour mill was not sufficient now,as school fees were rising and we were also growing faster.
They decided to start a addon business a vegetable shop along with flour mill.
Serving Tiffins to student was already in place for extra income.
Vegetable shop was running good but that turn out to be tedious job for my dad as he alone was responsible for getting vegetables from the market in the early morning .it was running well few months untill my dad got sick.
After that a new Avenue was explored opening a shop with name "Sunday ke sunday"name sounds good na. Exactly it was a shop which only operates on Sunday to Sunday where we use to sell samosa, dosa jalebi and dhokla. I was the marketing guy for that, visiting houses to houses and getting the order and delivering them as per the order. We have explored swiggy and zomato 25 years back ..🤭🤭
That also worked well until my dad again got sick. All this work require so much effort.and it is needless to say that my mom was there to support.
My mother was the one who can operate all the machines that we were having in our shop infact she was the reason for the success of that shop as she was the one looking after the day time business when dad use to go market and afternoon was taken care by both of them.
They tried other businesses like gupchup shop(I was the gupchup wala), milk packet selling, canteen services and renting the one of the rooms of 1st floor to students along with food to support our studies.
Just a addition we both brothers were good in studies my brother was intelligent in the family and that might be the driving force for my parents to work hard.
In mean time I have also started taking tutions. And my brother after his graduation started a job at ICICI bank home loans.
Suddenly one day my brother came to my father with worried face and told him that he want to pursue MBA and that too from good college of metro city. He had no plan whatsoever how he is going to do that. The reply given by my dad was go ahead I have a house I will mortgage this to some bank for you. You just work hard rest I will see.
Ultimately he got the good Mark's and managed to get the good college as well.
Another struggle was to manage to get the loan and that too a loan for everything -college fees, hostel fees and mess fees as we were not in the position to manage all that at that point of time.
My dad and brother went bank to bank asking for the loan, most of the bank rejected stating we don't give education loan on mortgage or you dont have a proper guarantee to give. Still they dint loss hope they tried every possible bank and finally a bank called United western bank now taken over by IDBI bank agreed to lend us a loan based on the property. The word said by that bank manager to my brother was that " I am not lending you loan based on your Mark's ,its because of your father I am giving you the loan"
It is worth while to remember those neighbour who helped us with money in those time .every body were so inspired with my parents that what sort of people they are. they are working so hard to make their children's future bright. No negihbour knew us but still they have given us money seeing our parents enthusiasm.
Meanwhile bank gave the 1st installment under the condition that we need to pay the regular interest for the year upon which 2nd installment would be released. I was still taking tution at that time and somehow we managed that year.
2nd year onwords my brother also started working and things smoothen .
He got the campus placement at Earnst & Young where he worked for a year then he managed to get in to Bank ,worked their for a while and then switching and switching and presently settled in singapore.
My detailed story will follow in my next blog ,Breifly I joined CA cleared foundation and inter in the 1st attempt ,in the meantime a government job opprtuinty knocked thanks to my dad he persuaded me literally persuaded me to apply as I was pretty sure that next year I will be CA and every thing will be fine thereafter. But destiny has something else for me luckily my written got cleared and then interview and here I am presently working in a public sector undertaking.I am company secretary and MBA.
Presently my parents are happily retired and are covering whole India which they lost in their early days. They are staying in a 3Bhk house with a car in their parking and love and affection of their children.
This lines are for my father...
He tried he failed ,
He tried again he failed again
But he Never Failed to try and he Succeeded finally.
By the time I am writing this blog my Mom Dad are enjoying there stay in Singapore with smhis elder son, daughter in law and a cute mahi grand child.

Flour mill should you buy one
On the off chance that the roti you make at home preferences in no way like the ones you were familiar with having in India, put it on the Best Flourmill. Brilliant wheat ground flawlessly is the way in to an ideal roti. See whether putting resources into a flour factory merits your time and cash!
Note – milcentappliances sent me a grain factory to mess with and I adored it such a lot of that I chose to impart my experience to you.
Each excursion we take to India helps us to remember things we don't arrive in the US – spending time with our families, family weddings, Natural frozen yogurt and newly ground Attachakki (wheat flour from a flour plant) for those delectable, delicate, soften in-your-mouth rotis.
Notwithstanding knowing every one of the stunts and excursions to make a delicate and puffed up roti, there is minimal one can do to work on the taste, as that element relies upon how new your entire wheat flour is – something we have little command over.
That is the reason rotis made abroad don't taste equivalent to the ones in India.
What is a flour mill?
For any individual who experienced childhood in India, a flour factory is something we are intimately acquainted with. A few of us can recall going to a local flour factory, dragging 10 pounds worth of wheat berries to get it ground. The individual accomplishing the work would be covered from head to toe in this velvety white residue of wheat flour, would take our pack and dump everything in this colossal machine that would traverse his little shop. Contingent upon how bustling he was around then, you could get flour immediately or you would need to return back sometime in the future.
Then, at that point, came a time of home flour plants. These were more modest forms of the business flour processes that began getting well known in the 90's. A couple of families put resources into their own home flour plant to crush flour just as masalas (flavors) at home. These flour plants were enormous and I recall that they occupied a great deal of room. When working, they made a stunning commotion, alarming the whole area, that you were crushing flour at home. In correlation, the flour factories found in the US consume less space and are calmer.
How is flour made?
The interaction to make flour at home includes putting resources into a grain factory, purchasing grains, and putting away the grains/flour appropriately. We should visit through the interaction bit by bit.
Which flour mill is best for the job?
Having seen what the home plants resembled in India, it was a charming encounter to utilize a plant that was basically the same at crushing the ideal atta for rotis, while being a great deal more productive. Here is the reason I love Best Attachakki:
Simple to set up – just 5 sections altogether.
Simple cleanup – It doesn't regurgitate flour out of control. No wreck to tidy up later you are finished.
Adaptable plant – Allows personalization of flour from very fine to coarse. It is flexible and can crush an assortment of grains, seeds, and vegetables. Ideal for without gluten flours Gharghanti.
Jam supplements – Grinds at a temperature that doesn't obliterate the supplements of the wheat berries
Quick and strong – It accompanies a 1250 watt rock solid engine planned by LG that can crush 100 pounds in 60 minutes. You can likewise securely switch it off whenever during activity
Low upkeep – no gaskets to be supplanted, no little parts to lose
Accompanies a restricted lifetime Gharghanti.
You can not just make entire wheat Best Flourmill, you can likewise make your own rice flour, besan (chickpea flour), oats flour and some more. Look at every one of the grains that you can crush in a Best Attachakki.
Here are some useful connections for you to peruse up before you choose to purchase Best Attachakki
What Can the Best Attachakki Grind?
Where might I have the option to buy Best Attachakki? – Make sure you buy milcentappliances from trusted in retailers so to speak. You don't get ensure security expecting you buy this grain plant from Non-Authorized merchants.
