Ommggg I have so many thoughts on the new chapter I don’t even know where to begin!

I love the consistency with Snape’s twisted morality. Just like later, when he’ll beg Dumbledore to save only Lily, here he’s only concerned with protecting Lily, other innocent students be damned.

The reveal that Lily had been spiked with Felix makes so much sense in retrospect. I even remember thinking that she was so optimistic as soon as James sent Snape away, and thought it must’ve just been James. Excellent foreshadowing.

now I can’t stop thinking of all the things that happened because it was “lucky” for Lily??? Like suddenly needing to send Mary a letter so that she’d overheard Aisha and Florence, and instigate Flormes’ breakup by revealing the James dad thing! And how Sirius and Graham were right in the blast but unharmed. And did she say she was going to the bookshop so someone would rescue Arabella?? So good.

Sirius listening to Lily fret about how he specifically must hate her because it’s her fault that James is hurt as Snuffles is so sad. Like it’s sort of messed up that he’s doing this but it’s also so… sweet? He knows Snuffles brings her comfort in a way Sirius can’t. I can’t stop thinking about what Lily’s going to feel when she realizes this whole time Snuffles has been Sirius. I think at first she’s going to be betrayed, but after the dust settles I think she’s going to realize how much he’s sought her out to comfort her without ever once revealing what she said to anyone, and that will go a long way for their friendship.

since we're looking at fae hobie a lot, i feel like they wouldnt talk much at all. maybe its the post abt siren hobie that put this in my head, but i think fae hobie would be silent most times. their forest is quiet save for the wind rustling, and since they command that area, i dont think they would break that peace. instead, they lure you in with their actions and body language. they seduce you with the sway of their hips and the way their hair full of flowers frames their head like a halo and the flick of their forked tongue when they lick their plump lips. theyre slender florm and handsome smile are dangerously enchanting, but you cant look away, and you keep coming back. they bring you oddities, and you accept because of course its fine to accept a gift from a fae. and youre so polite you even say thank you. and they smile at you in a way that you know cant mean anything good, but theyre just so damn charming and youre bubbling with curiousity. when you finally do hear their voice, its a quiet night after theyve worn you out, body and mind. they settle in behind you and whisper your name to themself, their hands possessively gripping your body. you cant tell if they know youre awake, but you make it a point to not move or even breathe as you process how deep and rich their voice is. how even a whisper vibrated through your bones and the tone of just one word soothed you. any doubts of leaving are erased immediately in exchange for the hopeful, delusional thought that you may hear that lovely voice call your name again. you would have never thought like this before you encountered them, but theyre so warm and you feel so good that you cant put much thought into it at all.

Danish pancakes

For any and all Danish learners, this is my (technically, it's originally from Frk. Jensens kogebog) recipe for Danish pancakes, proudly presented in Danish and English | italics indicated a comment. Note that in Denmark pancakes are a dessert. The are large but thin, like crêpes.

Ingredienser, fire portioner - Ingredients, four servings

4 dl mel - flour 4-5 dl mælk/hvidtøl - milk/light ale | plant-based milks work just as well as cow's milk. you should try it with light ale though, it's really good! 3-4 æg - eggs 1-2 spsk. sukker - tbsp. sugar | spsk. is short for spiseske 'tablespoon' 2 tsk. vaniljesukker - tsp. vanilla sugar | tsk. is short for teske 'teaspoon' 1 spsk. olie - 1 tbsp. vegetable oil en knivspids salt - a nip of salt | knivspids literally translates to 'knife tip'

Fremgangsmåde - method

1) Bland alle ingredienserne i en skål. Pisk evt. sukker og æg sammen først - Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Optional: whisk the eggs and sugar separately and then mix.

1a) Dejen skal have konsistens, så den kan hældes relativt let uden at være for tynd - The texture of the batter should be so that it's relatively easy to pour without being too thin.

1b) Teknisk set skal dejen hvile i køleskabet i en halv time, men man kan sagtens bruge den med det samme - Technically, the batter is supposed to rest in the fridge for half an hour, but you can use it immediately without problem.

2) Varm en smule olie på en stegepande - Heat a bit of oil in a frying pan.

3) Bag pandekagerne ved mellemhøj varme (ca. 7 på komfur med 1-9) - Fry the pancakes on medium-high heat (approx. 7 on a stove with settings 1-9) | generally Danish pancakes are the size of the pan you're frying them on, so make sure you cover the entire pan with a thin layer of batter.

4) Server pandekagerne varme med is, syltetøj, sirup, flormelis eller sukker - Serve the pancakes while hot with ice cream, jam, syrup or (powdered) sugar | in Danish, the separate word flormelis is used for powdered/icing sugar, not to be confused with puddersukker 'brown sugar'.

3 spsk. sukker

300 g (ca. 5 dl) hvedemel

2 tsk Bagepulver

1 tsk Vaniljesukker

1 tsk Groft salt

1 spsk. Fintrevet lime skal (usprøjtet og man kan også bruge citron)

3 dl Mælk eller kærnemælk

2 dl Vand

3 Æg

100 g Smør - smeltet

Kom mel, sukker, bagepulver, salt og lime skal i en skål.

Tilsæt mælk, vand og æg på én gang. Pisk dejen sammen og tilsæt det smeltede smør.

Lad et vaffeljern blive godt varmt. Fordel ca. 1 dl dej i vaffeljernet. Bag vaflen i 3-4 min. - eller til den er gylden.

Læg vaflen på en rist eller alternativt på en tallerken under alufolie og hold den lun i ovnen. Bag resten af vaflerne.

Drys flormelis over vaflerne og server med syltetøj.
