I'm fascinated by the anthropological implications of how the tribe and the clans started out from the same place of having ancestor veneration practices at the core of their religion but while the tribe kept it self-mediated for the most part the clans institutionalized it fully and enshrined it as the prerrogative of ritual specialists. I suppose it comes with the territory of the Clans developing hierarchical power structures in general.

I'm wondering, in addition to sign interpretation and the high level spirit channeling, do you think the cats have anything more mid-tier? Like, still taking a proactive role in contacting the ancestor spirits but not as drastic as to require a full on channeling. Something like a cat equivalent of moon block divination, if you've ever heard of that. If so, who do you think would have access to those techniques in their society?

And in a similar vein, what do you think the reaction of the medicine cats is to encountering a society in which the spiritual authority that their society reserves to them is so spread out? I presume there's some ideological justification behind why this power is reserved to them be it because it's dangerous knowledge for the masses to have or simply because the average clan Cat is too stupid to be able to learn or something along those lines. So, how would that inform their reaction to learning of the more democratized spirituality of the tribe?

I'm glad those implications are coming through because you hit the nail on the head! The Clans' practices are meant to be a more hierarchical branch of the ancestral religion, which would closer resemble the Tribe's if you had a time machine to go see it.

Mid-tier spiritual practices and authorities

(Side note I just realized I don't know what the sociological term for a generic 'spiritual authority' is, is there a such term?)

One of the things sitting in my drafts is actually a bunch of divination practices the Clans' medcats use for soothsaying. Rituals they're supposed to carry out at births, deaths, major injuries, etc.

I will primarily be taking inspiration for Clan ritual creation from geometric sigil drawing and astrology. The Tribe is closer inspired by druidic rituals.

So, for the clans, this is all still controlled by Medcats, their apprentices, and occasionally an assistant or two (Brightheart for example). In the Tribe, anyone can learn how to do a ritual, but only the ruling of a respected elder or healer is taken seriously.

And, in contrast to the very controlled invocations and precise rituals of the Clans, the Tribe prefers observational divination.

Passive-type rituals would include studying the weather, movements of birds, changes of the river's flow, etc. Active rituals would involve scapulimancy (bone readings), floramancy (flower readings), and haruspicy (entrail readings).

So really, even when the Wards are doing something "active" it's way more 'faith based'. If the Clan "Invokes", the Tribe "Divinates".

How do the Clan cats feel about this?

It really varies a lot, but it was not an uncommon first reaction for clan cats to feel extremely uncomfortable.

Their whole way of life revolves around authority. Cats are chosen by StarClan, they wait for the medcat to relay signs down, and Tribe cats just... listen to the wind? In a way it feels... disrespectful of the reverence and fear they associate with StarClan.

And it is important to emphasize; Clan cats fear StarClan. It's a comfort, a reward, but also a judge. An awe-inspiring, terrifying collective whose WRATH can be incurred as much as its favor!

Medicine cats especially, who are responsible for representing StarClan, and have a lot of power to lose in a Tribelike society.

Not that they'd identify that, honestly. I don't think they'd recognize their own emotions as feeling threatened. They'd ad hoc justify their reaction like,

"you can't expect dozens of cats to do the rituals right, who makes sure they're not doing something wrong? You have to dedicate your life to this, not be distracted by hunting, or, or interpersonal drama. What if you have a mate? Kits?? What if there's conflicting signs, who do you trust? If one cat upsets your ancestors, do they punish ALL of you?"

Some of them might realize that a lot of these criticisms apply to themselves, others would learn a lot from this new perspective, some would never change from that initial discomfort. But to go deeper I'd have to make a whole post on the TNP medcats as individuals

As I am Asexual, I won't be writing any smut, but am open to writing anything else, whether it be angst, fluff, or anything else. Revitalizar os espaços públicos da comunidade do Morro do Mocotó em Florianópolis, degradados pelo acúmulo de resíduos, e transformá-los em ambientes sustentáveis é o objetivo que o Programa Bairro Educador tem ao lançar o projeto de limpeza, organização e reciclagem ‘Bairro Educador, Bairro com Amor’, tendo os estudantes como protagonistas do processo. “Queremos inspirar os estudantes do Programa, suas famílias e a comunidade em geral, ao adotar práticas ambientalmente responsáveis, contribuindo para assegurar tanto o bem-estar presente, quanto o futuro, e também das gerações vindouras”, destaca Latrônico Junior, Coordenador Institucional do Instituto Escola Cidadã (IEC), instituição que executa o Programa Bairro Educador para a Secretaria Municipal de Educação de Florianópolis. A ação teve a parceria do Instituto Renato Muzzolon, que trabalha com projetos sobre educação ambiental. DA TEORIA PARA A PRÁTICA Latrônico explica que o projeto começou a partir de uma análise crítica, em que percebeu que muitos resíduos, como plástico, papel, bituca de cigarro e até lixo orgânico eram deixados nas vias do morro, ora por falta de contêineres apropriados para recolhimento do lixo, ora por falta de conscientização da comunidade. “Foi quando reunimos os estudantes do Programa Bairro Educador no topo do morro e resolvemos agir. Primeiro, uma aula teórica sobre o meio ambiente, sustentabilidade, e a importância de mantermos limpo o espaço em que vivemos para preservar a natureza. Depois, fomos para a prática e passamos a limpar o entorno da sede do nosso Programa, junto com a base do morro no asfalto, finalizando na Praia do Nelinho”. Latrônico revela que muito plástico, papelão e bituca de cigarro foram retirados da praia. “Muito desse lixo começou no morro e foi parar no mar. Neste projeto, vamos conscientizá-los de que o mar começa no morro. Se temos um morro limpo, nosso mar também estará limpo.”, enfatiza o coordenador. PARCERIAS COM INSTITUIÇÕES PÚBLICAS A ideia é que a sede do Morro do Mocotó seja a primeira desse projeto, para que possa ser reproduzido nas outras 11 sedes do Programa Bairro Educador. Para isso, estão sendo realizadas parcerias com a Secretaria Municipal de Limpeza e Manutenção Urbana, a fim de realizar a limpeza das ruas e de bueiros, com a utilização de hidrojato, e também, a construção de novos locais para contentores, além da substituição de contentores de resíduos antigos. Está prevista a instalação de lixeiras para coleta seletiva de resíduos, ‘Ecopontos’, papeleiras e bituqueiras, assim como, a implantação de ‘Pontos de Entrega Voluntária’ (PEVs) e orientações acerca da agenda e roteiro da coleta de resíduo convencional, seletiva e de vidro. Para esta ação, o Programa contará com o auxílio da Secretaria do Meio Ambiente e Desenvolvimento Sustentável e daAutarquia de Melhoramentos da Capital/ Comcap – FLORAM. SEPARAÇÃO DE RESÍDUOS Nessa parceria, também consta o projeto ‘Minhoca na Cabeça’ (caixa de minhocário), ‘Projeto Horta’ (com mudas de hortaliças e composto orgânico para horta) e, em paralelo a eles, será realizado o trabalho de conscientização sobre a importância da separação correta do lixo, bem como sua reciclagem. O projeto prevê a promoção do hábito da separação dos restos de alimento, tanto na sede, quanto na casa dos estudantes, por meio de baldinhos. “Realizaremos uma ação entre os estudantes da sede. Os baldinhos serão levados para casa com as informações corretas de armazenamento, a fim de auxiliar os estudantes e seus familiares na separação dos resíduos dentro de cada lar. Assim que o baldinho estiver cheio, o estudante levará para a sede, para nossa composteira que depois será encaminhada ao pátio da Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente ou Comcap”, explica Latrônico. O coordenador institucional do IEC explica que já começaram a realizar um levantamento detalhado dos espaços e suas condições atuais. O passo seguinte é envolver os estudantes de todas as oficinas do Programa Bairro Educador,

como por exemplo: Oficina Pedagógica, promovendo conversas, pesquisas, elaboração de texto entre tantas outras possibilidades a partir de observação realizada em caminhadas pelas ruas da comunidade com o grupo ou no trajeto de casa para o Programa; Oficina de Inclusão Digital, pesquisando na internet e elaborando um jornal em parceria com as oficinas: Pedagógica, de Artes e de Fotografia. Além dessas, a Oficina de Introdução às Artes Visuais oportuniza a criação de brinquedos, utensílios e artesanato com resíduos, e também, a elaboração de uma exposição para apresentar todo o processo de transformação que este projeto proporciona. COMUNIDADE PARTICIPARÁ DO PROCESSO A Oficina de Grafite vai embelezar os muros do entorno da sede, por meio de artes informativas sobre a coleta seletiva. Também serão realizadas pinturas nos baldes com a identificação do projeto ‘Baldinho na Comunidade’, para que a ação possa estimular a comunidade a participar desse processo. Está previsto que a Oficina de Inclusão Digital crie uma hashtag (#) do projeto, gerando marcações nas redes sociais, para que os pais postem na internet que estão participando da ação com seus filhos. “Enfim, estamos muito confiantes numa transformação do espaço do Morro Mocotó. because vega is technically a witch (of the floramancy kind) they do have a familiar though fran is elusive and it's very rare to see her outside of the grove. with vega being more eldritch than witch, their need to have fran close by is reduced and they can go great distances away from her.

fran is an american alligator and her favourite activities are standing menacingly in the entrance of the grove to shit visitors up and laying in the sun next to vega.
