He was always happy to talk music with anyone, even a complete stranger who didn't seem to want to be seen. Call him naive but the hedgehog figured the other was just shy. Or trying to stay out of the heat.

  {➹} – "I WOULDN'T GO that way if I were you." While not forceful, there was a tone to the hedgehog’s voice that said maybe questioning it wasn't the best choice one could make. Though he had to wonder what had enticed the stranger so much about the gaping mouth of a cave that laid in front of them. It was dark inside, scarcely lit but small lanterns, and a maze that only the locals seemed to know by heart.

"Mystic Cave isn't the best place t' go wandering off, believe me."

"Listen, it's compulsory. I can't help it. Besides, there was plenty more to go around so it's not that big of a deal." She's just going to keep munching away on her taken loaf of bread because hungry.

"Excuse me, are you by chance Prince Vegeta?" A feline about a foot shorter than Vegeta asked as they approached him

"Who's asking?" His sharp gaze seized up the feline, trying to discern their intentions. He wasn't in the mood for pleasantries, especially with someone he didn't recognize. Still, something about this ones boldness to even approach him garnered some curiosity.

"Alright, whew, seventy-five laps *huff* outside Eggton's exterior. Really getting into the *phew* swing of this workout." Poppy was certainly tired, though at least she was making improvements as fifty laps was her limit before.

"Geez Poppy, are you okay? You look like your heart is about to stop." Hallia was rather concerned about Poppy by this point given it looked like the opossum was on deaths door.

"Yeah, I'm good. My pulse only stopped about twenty seconds this time. Stubborn thing has been trying to put me in an early grave the past twenty years, though not today old friend." One of the other reason's Poppy has started working out again.

Hallia is now double checking she has the medication Poppy gave her. "Remind me again why you're doing this?" From what the avian knew the opossum didn't really have to start working out.

"I'm gonna enter the tournament that was just announced. Can't ignore prize money that good. Normally I wouldn't be too worried, though with all countries getting in on it to prove who's the strongest I'm sure my competition is gonna be stiff." Poppy can't rely on her current level of strength to carry her, even if that level is stupid strong by most standards.

"Oh yeah, I remember seeing you owe Petunia a lot of notes. Like, a stupid amount for destroying the gates to the town." Hallia supposed they were also magical reenforced when first put in to make sure they would last, and that wasn't cheap.

"I'd like it if you didn't remind me how much in debt I am." It was a bit of a sore spot for Poppy right now seeing as she didn't mean to break either of the gate doors.

"Oh, sorry, my bad." Hallia really needs to learn just what she says. "Well, I think your resting period is over. Just, please stop the next time you think your pulse is stopping." The avian didn't want anything bad to happen to Poppy, then have to explain it to Lily. She's surprised at how quickly she can recover.

"You worry too much. Besides, ain't the first time I've cut it close before." Poppy would then waste little time before starting to run off again to continue working out.

Hallia is now triple checking she has the medication in her purse. At this rate she might need one as it feels like her heart rate is rising from how calm Poppy is with pushing herself like this.

the hedgehogs were on the same page as poppy there. no need to discourage lily and her desire to see people get along. it was complicated, and that's all there really was to it. not something that could be solved in just a single day, and definitely not something sonic nor amy felt comfortable trying to debate with someone so young.

it was bad enough the day had gone so off the rails from what any of them had expected, but at the same time...it hadn't been awful. they had learned a lot, and now it seemed the hedgehogs had a pass of sorts to come back and explore when the day was up.

and they would definitely be tracking the opossums down next time they were in town. if only to catch up and make sure today hadn't changed a lot for them. meeting royalty was odd in and of itself, they didn't want it to alter too much for lily and poppy. but at least they all seemed to have had a good time.

"don't mention it, we were glad to have you two along. though next time maybe we should try to do something a little less...random." that was a good way to describe the day, right? fun but absolutely not what they expected.

and sonic nodded to that much. ❝ agreed. maybe you can show us around the other town sometime. and if you ever find yourself in our neck of the woods, we'll return the favor. ❞

seemed that was that as they all descended the stairs again. the speedster stretching once they got to the bottom and amy taking one last look at the castle with the same awe. they were ready to settle in a little bit, take in some sights, though both paused at lily's question.

sonic and amy looked at each other, clearly debating the questions before they both smiled and the heroine nodded. "of course. we do want to see more of this world, and that seems like pretty good way to do it if you ask me."

❝ as long as we're not going to be in the way, of course. we wouldn't blame your aunt if she didn't want random, otherworldly strangers in her house. ❞

"I don't like that it's not easy for everyone to get along. You just gotta be nice." Lily was nice to her classmates, and they were nice to her, so how hard could it be for everyone else to do it?

"Alright, I think that's enough. We'll will have this conversation in private some other day, okay?" Poppy didn't want to discourage Lily's drive and to an extent she was right, though they'd have to have a long talk about why it's so complex.

"Oh, no need to apologize Amy. I can only guess it must be something that just happens with being famous heroes." Poppy was just guessing, though could only assume being heroes came with a lot of attention.

"Alright, everything is set." Friedrich would speak up figuring it'd be best to let the group talk while request another limo along with booking Amy and Sonic a place to stay. "If you'll excuse me, I must see to some other matters and will have another guard escort you out. I do hope you enjoy your stay in our world." The gamba then turned around before disappearing as he teleported.

"Yeesh, would've been nice to ask if the guards were at least as chill as him," Poppy said as a large sheep entered the room. "Alright, one last trip down the stairs." The opossum would walk out of the room.

The guard waited for Amy and Sonic to do the same before leaving it as well and starting to lead them back the way they came.

Lily would once more turn to face Sonic and Amy while sitting on her mom's shoulder. "This was super fun. Thanks for letting us come Mr. Sonic, and you too Ms. Amy." The opossum then looked at her mom. "Do you think they can visit us if we ask Auntie Petunia?"

"I'll ask, though maybe you should ask them first." Poppy knew how easily excited her daughter could get which did make Lily forget her manners.

"Okay," Lily was quick to turn to Sonic and Amy. "Before you two go can you visit us at Auntie Petunia's manor?"

Reyna can't help but giggle slightly at that. "I suppose we have indeed. A pleasure to see you again Friedrich." She says offering the gamba a curtsy. She then hears him explain to her that Kit still needs a bit. "That is quite alright, I am content with waiting for now. How have you been doing lately?" She asks, deciding to pass the time a little bit anyway.

"Come on Petunia, at least have ONE drink. What's the point in gals' night if ya don't have a bit of fun." Hallia managed to drag Petunia away from paperwork, now it was just a matter of getting her to unwind.

"Alcohol taints the soul and mind Hallia. Besides, you should've known I wouldn't indulge the second you invited her." Petunia would look at Mary after saying that.

"Still mad about tattoo?" Mary asked, which earned her the ever-famous Quibble glare. "Hey, you got it removed, and it wasn't THAT bad."

"You never mentioned this to me Petunia. Now I have GOT to hear this story." Hallia wondered why Petunia never mentioned it before.

"Absolutely not. It was a whole ordeal and a mistake I made when I was in college. No need to bring it up." Petunia would rather have her foot cut off again than relive that night.

"Oh, come on, it was only a tattoo that said T-" Mary was swiftly cut off by Petunia jumping on top of her and covering her mouth.

"Not another word out of you Moonshine, or I may have to break some vows." A vague threat, though one Mary seemed to fully understand as she nodded her head. The feline getting off the false nun and sitting back down.

"I think I'll pass on the story now." Hallia rarely sees Petunia get THAT mad so best just to drop it and not risk being out of a job. "Come on, let's just settle down an enjoy the rest of the night."

"Sounds good to me," Mary said, back in her seat despite neither Hallia nor Petunia actually seeing her get up and sit back down. "Just let me know if you want a drink Twtichkitten." Then there goes the false nun booking it with Petunia running after her.

Homeward Bound

A flash of flame ripped through the air, as the pillar of fire writhed from the sky. The princes stepped from the flames her fur glowing like hot embers. She took a breath and focused her mind letting the red hot cinders fade and her fur return to normal. Her paw caressed her cheek as her conversation with miles while successful was a bit frustrating. The boy certainly took more then his fair share from Sonic, and his business may well be going to his head. But at least he was being helpful. Or in some manner he was, he was a frustrating lad.

Blaze guessed Poppy was with Gardon and Lilly by now, and judging by the sun lunch was close at hand or perhaps over already. She had alot to speak to with Poppy---and an apology to make for earlier. She had left so suddenly her emotions piled up and rather then deal with them she just ran away. She didn't mean to, she just didn't want to bury poppy with her royal problems. She still felt guilt about it, rather then allowing poppy to see that part of her. She hid it away as she so often did.

She found them in the Study where Gardon often did his work, and peeked into the room. She had no idea what they were currently doing but she suspected finding a nanny? or perhaps Poppy was set on her mother taking up that task.

" Poppy? Are you in here? "

It had been a few hours since she left at least maybe more. She hoped her running off had not upset the other, though she wouldn't blame her if it had.

" I'm back, Apologies if I was gone to long..."

She will very calmly walk up to other before wrapping her arms around the other giving her the biggest bear hug she could.

"I'm so sorry for not comin' by pops" she said still squeezing the other in her hug. "Yall must be furious at me, well i'm ready fer ya to scold me, dont worry i'll apologize to lily as soon as ya say it's ok for me to see her"
