AZTEC ASTROLOGY
- 2 - (flint/tecpatl)
Aztec Astrology is an old form of astrology dating back to 600 BC. This type of astrology has 20 different signs rather than 12. It originates from an ancient tribe, the Aztecs, who were particularly fond of astronomy
Flint Dates: January 2/14/26, February 12/24, March 8/20, April 1/13/25, May 7/19/31, June 12/24, July 6/18/30, August 11/23, September 4/16/28, October 10/22, November 3/15/27, December 9/21
Traits of the flint/tecpatl:
• Associated with Mercury
• One of the most social signs. Even if they don’t enjoy socializing they’re good at it and natural social butterfly’s
• A rule follower. May have been a huge tattle tale as a kid
• Very curious and knowledge hungry people
• Self sacrificing/kind to others
• Constantly doing things for others. May not do enough for themselves because of this
• Clean freaks
• Organized but if not then they spiral. Need a put together environment to function well
• Hides anger well
• Sometimes on the more awkward side
• They think based on logic and tend to separate emotions from events. They pay close attention to detail
• They’re the least likely to believe in things like astrology, numerology, the occult, etc
• Usually humble
• They can be overly judgmental of others at times
• Great debaters although they can be quite argumentative or know it alls sometimes
• Often financially well off
• Tend to be popular online but can be hated on a lot online as well

I'm playing in a d&d game for the first time. I'm playing a Tabaxi Rogue and I know they're supposed to have funny names like Skirt of Snakes and Left-Handed Hummingbird, but I don't know how to make a name. Is there something in the books that I've missed? (I only have Volo's Guide and the PHB, sorry :( )
In character, each tabaxi has a single name, determined by clan and based on a complex formula that involves astrology, prophecy, clan history, and other esoteric factors.
But to be honest, every tabaxi is probably named after some player’s cat…
But, and I didn’t realize this until being told it and looking it up for myself, but many Tabaxi names are actually the English translations of Aztec names.
For example, here’s the names of a few Aztec gods and goddesses, from what I could find in my 10 minutes of googling:
Xochiquetzal is Flower Feather, the Aztec Goddess of flowers, love, pleasure and beauty and she’s the patron of artists.
Chalchiuhtlicue (also known as Chalchihuitlicue or Chalciuhtlicue), “She of the Jade Skirt”, or “She whose Night-robe of Jewel-stars Whirls Above” is the goddess of oceans, rivers and any other running water, but also a goddess of birth.
Tecciztecatl (or Tecuciztecatl), the Old Moon God, represents the male aspect of the moon. He is also called “he who comes from the land of the sea-slug shell.”
Tezcatlipoca, or “Smoking Mirror”, the god of the nocturnal sky, god of the ancestral memory and the god of time.
So just from these names alone, there are some incredible Tabaxi Names: Smoking Mirror and Flower Feather as just two examples.
Smoking Mirror would be such a cool name for a Tabaxi Rogue…
But there are many more aztec deities out there, some with fascinating names like Flower Prince, the Turquoise Lord, Jewelled Fowl, Skirt is Stars and Clawed Butterfly.
Just looking at the Aztec Calendar, you can look up your birthday and find a cool tabaxi name, like Flint Knife, or Rabbit of the Rain, or Wind through Grass and it’s oh-so cool just to read about this kind of stuff…
