THE (google) travel hack
As a broke young adult, I don't like spending money. However, I do like doing fun stuff. Like traveling. Here's how I have saved a bunch of money in the last years: Google flights. Google flights is an incredibly useful tool, it gives a great overview of a bunch of different destinations and compares different airlines and different dates.
Go to: www.google.com/travel/flights
Fill in your starting point, but leave the destination empty.
Click on explore.
For the best results change the date to 'flexible dates'. (this can show the cheapest option in the next 6 months which is ideal if you aren't too tied to a specific date)
The map will show all the best flight options.
For example, I tried this hack today (18th of July 2023) and I found the following deals:
London - Lisbon (roundtrip) -> € 37 London - Barcelona (roundtrip) -> € 40 London - Vienna (roundtrip) -> € 41 London - Copenhagen (roundtrip) -> € 40 London - Venice (roundtrip) -> € 37 London - Athens (roundtrip) -> € 47 London - Rome (roundtrip) -> € 46
Yes, these are roundtrips. That means London to Lisbon and Lisbon to London for 37 euros. The big thing here is that these deals have always been available but they are just hard to find. I very much recommend to just give it a try and hopefully it will help you save some €€€.

Flight Hacks: How to Fly First Class on a Budget
Book cheap flight tickets and hotels- https://cheaptravelfirst.com/
Flying first class is often seen as a luxury reserved for the wealthy elite. The plush seats, gourmet meals, and attentive service seem out of reach for the average traveler. However, with a bit of savvy planning and some insider knowledge, flying first class can be more accessible than you might think. In this guide, we'll explore some flight hacks that can help you fly first class on a budget, allowing you to indulge in the high life without breaking the bank.
1. Utilize Miles and Points
One of the most effective ways to fly first class without paying a premium price is by using airline miles and credit card points. Many airlines offer loyalty programs that allow you to earn miles through frequent flying or by using affiliated credit cards. By accumulating enough miles, you can redeem them for first-class tickets or upgrades. Keep an eye out for special promotions or bonus offers that can help you earn miles more quickly.
2. Look for Upgrade Opportunities
Even if you don't have enough miles to book a first-class ticket outright, you may still be able to score an upgrade. Airlines often offer last-minute upgrades at a discounted rate, especially if first-class seats are still available close to the departure date. You can also inquire about upgrade options at the check-in counter or gate, as airlines sometimes offer upgrades for a fraction of the original price.
3. Book Strategically
The timing of your booking can significantly impact the price you pay for a first-class ticket. Try to book your flight during off-peak times, such as mid-week or during the shoulder season, when demand is lower. Additionally, booking well in advance or at the last minute can sometimes result in discounted first-class fares. Be flexible with your travel dates and be on the lookout for flash sales or promotions that offer discounted first-class tickets.
4. Consider Alternative Routes
Flying first class on popular routes can be expensive, but you may be able to find better deals by considering alternative routes. Look for flights with layovers or connections, as these routes may have lower first-class fares compared to direct flights. Be sure to factor in the additional travel time and inconvenience of layovers, but if the savings are substantial, it may be worth it for the chance to fly first class on a budget.
5. Monitor Fare Prices
Like any other commodity, the price of first-class airline tickets can fluctuate based on supply and demand. Use fare tracking websites or apps to monitor prices for your desired route, and be ready to pounce when fares drop. Set up price alerts to notify you when there's a significant price decrease, and be prepared to book quickly before the prices rise again.
6. Consider Premium Economy
If flying first class is still out of reach, consider booking a premium economy ticket instead. Premium economy offers many of the same perks as first class, such as extra legroom, priority boarding, and enhanced amenities, but at a fraction of the cost. While it may not be quite as luxurious as first class, premium economy can still provide a comfortable and enjoyable flying experience without breaking the bank.
7. Negotiate
Don't be afraid to negotiate with the airline or travel agent to try to secure a better deal on a first-class ticket. If you're a loyal customer or if you have a valid reason for needing an upgrade, such as a special occasion or a long journey, the airline may be willing to offer you a discounted rate. Be polite but persistent, and you may be surprised at what you can achieve.
Flying first class on a budget is not as elusive as it may seem. By leveraging miles and points, booking strategically, and keeping an eye out for deals and promotions, you can enjoy the luxury and comfort of first-class travel without breaking the bank. With a bit of planning and creativity, the high life can be within reach for even the most budget-conscious travelers.

Tips for Surviving a Long Layover
Book cheap flight tickets and hotels- https://trailtravelz.com/
Traveling can be an exhilarating experience, filled with new destinations, adventures, and cultural discoveries. However, one aspect of travel that can often be less exciting is the long layover. Whether you're flying halfway around the world or making a connecting flight, long layovers can test even the most seasoned traveler's patience. Fortunately, with some strategic planning and a positive mindset, you can turn a potentially tiresome layover into a productive or even enjoyable part of your journey. Here are some valuable tips for surviving a long layover:
1. Plan Ahead: Before embarking on your journey, research the airports where you have layovers. Check their facilities, amenities, and layout to get an idea of what to expect. Some airports are equipped with comfortable lounges, quiet areas, or even sleeping pods that you can utilize during your layover.
2. Pack Essentials in Your Carry-On: Ensure your carry-on bag contains essential items such as a travel pillow, blanket, eye mask, earplugs or noise-canceling headphones, snacks, and a refillable water bottle. These items can significantly enhance your comfort during a long wait.
3. Stay Connected: Most airports nowadays offer free Wi-Fi. Take advantage of this to stay connected with loved ones, catch up on work or emails, stream movies, or plan the next leg of your journey. Having entertainment options can make time fly by faster.
4. Explore Airport Amenities: Many airports have evolved into mini cities with a wide range of amenities. Use your layover to explore what the airport has to offer. Some may have art exhibits, cultural displays, spa services, fitness centers, or even local cuisine options worth trying.
5. Stretch Your Legs: Sitting for extended periods can be uncomfortable and unhealthy. Make it a point to walk around the terminal regularly. Some airports even have designated yoga or stretching areas where you can relax and rejuvenate.
6. Take a City Tour: If your layover is particularly long (usually several hours), check if the airport offers city tours for passengers with extended waits. This can be a fantastic opportunity to see a glimpse of the city you're in without the hassle of arranging visas or transportation.
7. Catch Up on Rest: If your layover is overnight or if you're exhausted from a long flight, look for quiet areas or lounges where you can rest or even take a nap. Some airports have sleeping pods or comfortable seating options that can provide much-needed rest.
8. Plan for Meals: Food options at airports can vary widely in terms of quality and price. Research restaurants or cafes in advance, or use apps that list airport dining options. Alternatively, pack some snacks or a light meal to save money and ensure you have something to eat during your layover.
9. Stay Informed: Monitor flight updates and gate changes closely, especially if you have a tight connection. Use airport apps or check with airline staff for real-time information to avoid missing your connecting flight.
10. Stay Positive and Flexible: Approach your layover with a positive mindset. Sometimes unexpected delays or changes in plans can occur, but staying calm and flexible can make the experience less stressful. Use the time to relax, reflect on your travels, or engage in activities you enjoy.
By following these tips, you can transform a potentially tedious layover into a productive or enjoyable part of your journey. Remember, preparation and a positive attitude are key to making the most out of any travel experience, including long layovers.

Budget Travel Tips 💸 [SAVE + FOLLOW] I say it all the time, but travel does not have to be expensive! Here are my favorite budget travel tips after traveling to 29 countries: 1.) Track your expenses! You need to know how much you are spending. I use the app TrailWallet. 2.) Volunteer through organizations like @worldpackers. You will usually get accommodation and some meals, while learning new skills and experiencing a new culture ($10 OFF in bio). 3.) Stay in hostel to save on accommodation. Plus, they are great places to meet other travels! I find all my hostels on @hostelworld. 4.) Be flexible! Being flexible with your months and dates could save you hundreds! 5.) Use points and mile. Get a travel credit card and hit the minimum spend. You can use the points for free flights and hotels! I love my @capitalone Venture X card (link in bio). 6.) Cook for yourself. Going out to eat everyday can really add up. You can save a ton by grocery shopping and cooking your bigger meals. 7.) Walk or use public transportation. Walking is the best way to explore a new town or city! Also, opt for using public buses or metros vs. Ubers and taxi. 8.) Pack carry on only. This will not only save you money on checked luggage, but it will also save you tome (fav travel bags in bio). 9.) Use google flights to find the best flight deals. I love the map, calendar, flexible dates, and alert options. Flight prices can change by hundreds day to day. 10.) Watch your alcohol intake! Alcohol can add up like crazy when you are traveling. If you are going to drink, opt for local wine or beer. 11.) Find free activities. You can always find a free walking tour, concert, fair, or event. 12.) Lastly, get an ATM card that reimburses your ATM fees and doesn’t have foreign transactions fees. My favorite is @charlesschwab. Unlocking Secret Deals: How to Score Discounted Airfare
Are you tired of paying exorbitant prices for flights? Do you dream of jet-setting across the globe without breaking the bank? Well, you're in luck! In this article, we'll reveal the insider secrets to scoring discounted airfare, allowing you to travel more for less.
Book cheap flight tickets and hotels- https://cheaptravelfirst.com/
1. Be Flexible with Your Travel Dates and Destinations
Flexibility is key when it comes to finding cheap flights. Airlines often offer lower prices for flights that depart on less popular days of the week, such as Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Additionally, being open to flying into alternative airports or exploring different destinations can lead to significant savings.
2. Sign Up for Airline Newsletters and Fare Alerts
Stay ahead of the game by subscribing to airline newsletters and fare alert services. Airlines frequently send out exclusive deals and promotions to their subscribers, giving you the first pick of discounted fares. Fare alert services, such as Google Flights and Skyscanner, notify you when prices drop for specific routes, ensuring you never miss out on a bargain.
3. Utilize Airline Miles and Rewards Programs
Make the most of your loyalty by joining airline miles and rewards programs. By accruing miles through frequent flyer programs or utilizing co-branded credit cards, you can redeem them for free or discounted flights. Additionally, keep an eye out for special promotions and bonus offers that can accelerate your mileage earning potential.
4. Book Early or Last Minute
Timing is everything when it comes to snagging cheap airfare. Booking your flight well in advance can often result in lower prices, especially for popular travel routes. Conversely, spontaneous travelers may find great deals by waiting until the last minute to book, as airlines discount unsold seats to fill up flights.
5. Use Online Travel Agencies and Price Comparison Websites
Don't limit your search to airline websites alone. Online travel agencies (OTAs) and price comparison websites aggregate fares from multiple airlines, allowing you to compare prices and find the best deals. Additionally, some OTAs offer exclusive discounts and promo codes that can further reduce the cost of your flight.
6. Consider Budget Airlines
Budget airlines have revolutionized the travel industry by offering no-frills flights at significantly lower prices than traditional carriers. While amenities may be limited, budget airlines provide a cost-effective option for budget-conscious travelers. Just be sure to factor in any additional fees for baggage and amenities when comparing prices.
7. Clear Your Browser Cookies
Believe it or not, airlines use dynamic pricing algorithms that adjust fares based on your browsing history. To avoid being targeted with higher prices, clear your browser cookies or use an incognito window when searching for flights. This ensures that you're seeing the truest representation of available fares.
8. Follow Airlines and Travel Websites on Social Media
Stay connected with airlines and travel websites by following them on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Many companies announce flash sales and limited-time promotions exclusively through their social media channels, giving you access to unbeatable deals before they sell out.
9. Bundle Your Travel Expenses
Consider bundling your flights with other travel expenses, such as accommodations and car rentals, to unlock additional discounts. Many online booking platforms offer package deals that combine multiple travel components at a discounted rate, saving you both time and money.
10. Be Patient and Persistent
Finding discounted airfare requires patience and persistence. Prices fluctuate constantly based on demand, so it's essential to keep monitoring fares and be ready to pounce when you spot a great deal. Remember, the extra effort you put into searching for discounted airfare can result in significant savings in the long run.
In conclusion, scoring discounted airfare is not an impossible feat with the right strategies and mindset. By remaining flexible, leveraging loyalty programs, exploring alternative booking methods, and staying vigilant for deals, you can travel the world without emptying your wallet. So, what are you waiting for? Start planning your next adventure today!
