What do you use to curl your hair?

I use these products and the one-inch long barrel T3 curler. I pin my hair up for as long as possible, use a liberal amount of hairspray, spray dry shampoo at my roots, rotate my curler, and use a hairnet to preserve my pin curls. I keep my hair in flexirods at night and do heartless curls throughout the week to preserve my hair. I only use a heat curler every three weeks or so.

Jijoi! Symbolism explanation below cut

First, design. Jijoi’s face is partially based on a possible bust of Smenkhare, who is part of a fringe theory that Nefertiti became pharaoh and adopted a male presentation later in life, maybe being trans. I haven't decided on a default hairstyle for him, just that it's popular for people in his sect to wear top knots as a cultural miscommunication of some images that got brought over. The hairstyle is loosely based on Egyptian hairstyles from late Antiquity- I've seen a few half up hairstyles like this, and the corkscrew curls seem to have been characteristic of local Egyptian hairdressing. This is possible with styling on curly hair, these days people use flexirods for this affect and I've seen Northeast Africans wear their hair like this as a cultural style. The cap is referenced from a Coptic sprang cap.

The tendrils by his ears are a reference to grey herons, black crowned night herons, and demoiselle cranes, all of which have a trailing feather by their eyes leading off the back of their heads. All three of these birds are seen in Egypt and are known to engage in homosexual activity.

Jijoi’s name comes from an older name meaning "bearer of the side lock", and epithet for Horus in the form of a child, worshipped under the name Harpocrates. Harpocrates gained an association as the god of secrets dye to a miscommunication of a visual pun by Greeks and Romans, and in Rome was associated with roses (see the term "sub rosa"). Wether the Ancient Egyptians adopted these signifers as well isn't something I can state, but I combined the roses here with eyes, which are natively associated with Horus.

Some Oils That Are Good For Natural Hair: Almond Oil

Whenever they just get bummed asf they cry to Gender is Boring by She/Her/Hers (is this just me projecting because ive been crying to this song for the past two hours? yes. yes it is. and you cant do a single thing about it.)

At the end of every month they have a competition to see who can collect all the empty water bottles, gatorades, caprisuns ect. from their respective dorm rooms and put them in a trash bag first

whoever loses has to take both the bags out (they end up being hEAVY because i refuse to believe either one of them is capable of ACTUALLY keeping their rooms clean without help)

Denki likes to do Midoriya's hair so he will always be on youtube trying to find hairstyles he can do with 4c hair (yes i hc that Midoriya has 4c hair but likes to keep his hair in flexirods for a very specific loose curl pattern)

They like to make each other phone wallpapers/lockscreens

Kaminari hates using chapstick because licks his lips a lot and the non-edible chapstick tastes weird. But whenever he uses the edible chapstick he ends up licking it for the flavor. So to get around this problem, Midoriya bought him some light pink and glittery lip gloss. Denki is extra careful to not lick it because he likes the sparkle and thinks its cool whenever he kisses Midoriya and can see the gloss on his skin

They have a shared playlist filled with only minecraft parodies for when they play minecraft together/with their friends

None of their friends ACTUALLY know how they got together because whenever the ask they tell them a different story

They have matching mood rings from Claires that just- dont work? but whenever they see the other's ring with any shade of blue they hug each other and pretend to be sad because they think its funny

Denki likes to draw zentangles so sometimes Midoriya will let him draw patterns on him with body paint

They can't take care of plants for shit but love the excuse of having something to co-parent

So whenever one of their plants die, they host a funeral and "cremate" said plant by crunching it up because the cronch is very satisfying

Denki has a big freezer bag of replacement marker and pen caps because he knows Izuku likes to chew the shit out of the caps he uses for his pens and stuff

They both have a weird habit of pushing pins through things whenever they find them

Whenever they get bored, they like to scour Amazon to find the most random and cool shit they can find

Because of that they both have matching pink guns and tasers covered in My Melody stickers

Midoriya keeps a big bucket of white paint in his room because when Denki gets bored he likes to repaint things in his room
