How to Choose the Best Horse Fence Installer for Your Needs
If you build a fence for your horses, it’s an investment in their safety and welfare. The choice of the right fence installer can play a major role in whether or not the fence is secure, durable, and fits your property. As a rule, whether you are installing a new or replacing an old fence, you have to be careful while choosing your installer.
Experience with Horse Fencing
Find a horse fencing installer who specializes in horse fencing. The primary way they should understand the specific requisites is to keep a horse safe and secure. Get references from previously satisfied clients who had a similar need just like you.
Knowledge of Materials and Options
Wood, vinyl, electric, and wire mesh are just some of the many types of fencing materials available, but each provides different benefits. A skilled horse fence installer knows their stuff regarding these options and will be able to recommend the right material for your particular property, terrain, and breed of horse.
They should be able to describe the respective issues of durability, safety, maintenance, and cost of each material. A professional installer will guide you as to what fence will be best aesthetically and functionally for you.
Reputation and Reviews
Before hiring a fence installer, check the reputation. Your first clue should be looking up reviews online, asking for testimonials, and chatting with other horse owners in your area. A good installer will have a good history of horse fencing projects. Visit some of their previous installations, if possible, to see the quality of their work—up close.
Licensing and Insurance
You should always go for a fully licensed and insured professional fence installer. Since licensing ensures that the installer has met local standards for fencing installation, and insurance protects both you (the customer) and the installer (in case of accidents or damage during the project), it’s the logical choice to make..
Cost and Transparency
Finding an installer within your budget is important, but you don’t want to choose a fence installer based solely on price – otherwise, there’s a chance that quality will suffer. The best installer is the one that is willing to quote a fair and transparent pricing procedure with cost materials and labor.
Conclusion
Different things must be considered when choosing who to install, such as the installer’s experience, expertise, reputation, and commitment to quality. Not only will a qualified professional help you choose the best materials and design for your property, but you will be assured your horses are safe and secure in a built fence.

If the LOV entered the Olympics, what sport do you think they would participate in?
this is so funny bc I’m so obsessed w the Olympics rn LOL
I love the idea that Tomura is very flexible and sturdy, considering his parkour and hand to hand combat, so probably gymnastics. I want to see him on pommel horse so bad!
Dabi definitely a runner mostly coz of his body type. He’s not super strong he’s usually drawn very lean and lithe but I feel like he has a nice build and good legs for running!
Toga’s kind of hard, but I think I’d put her in diving! She’s v graceful when she fights and pretty small so it’s be a good match for her. but if it were the winter Olympics she’s def a figure skater
Spinners fencing obviously. like a sword nerd and he’s not incredibly strong. but maybe also wall climbing
Compress gives like a very precise sport so honestly archery or even tennis! I Can see him as a retired Olympian for both lol
Twice is freakishly strong I can’t choose rugby or weightlifting 😣
Magne’s also super strong so probably shot put 💪🏼 the way she throws ppl w her quirk definitely helps in that
Giran’s shooting no question.
Kurogiri’s a cyclist in my eyes

✨📚🌿My Dream Self 🌿📚✨
Well, let's see what I'm working for. I've always had an idea of who my dream self is, but never written it down in such detail. I don't think it's cheating that I'm solidly on my way to embodying a lot of these :)
Body + Health
they are on low dose testosterone and have had top surgery. they have also done voice training to keep their voice in a neutral range.
they no longer have chronic pain or fatigue, and they have found a way to live happily within the boundaries of what their genetic disabilities allow them to do.
they're physically fit and strong.
their skin is clear of acne, but there are signs of experience (scars, freckles, some wrinkles). their dark circles are gone.
Mind + Values
they are in love with their body.
they are free from their childhood trauma. all parts of them fully believe that they are safe.
their abusers have been exposed for what they did, but out of a refusal to ever be like them, my dream self doesn't take revenge and instead lets them suffer the natural consequences of everyone knowing.
they have recovered enough from burnout and have put up enough boundaries that they are once again able to engage in politics without it harming their mental health.
they have joined a local mutual aid group, serving the people of their community gives them joy.
they will never let anyone take advantage of them.
they value security and stability, and their actions reflect that.
they are kind to strangers, complimenting people on the street and offering to pay for people's food.
they know themself to be resilient, but live a life where that isn't the only option.
they have hope, not because they are naive, but because without it the world is a horrible place and they will be the change they want to see, g-ddamnit.
Habits + Lifestyle
they are high maintenance to be low maintenance; they get pedicures every month, eyebrow waxing every 3 weeks, and use tricks like dyeing their eyebrows and eyelashes to avoid wearing makeup.
hygiene is very important to them, and they make sure to have a shower at least once a day. they wash their hair twice a week and double cleanse their face, body, and hair every time.
they brush their teeth (and scrape their tongue) twice a day and have twice-weekly 'everything toothbrushings', which also includes oil pulling, water flossing with hydrogen peroxide, and a hydrogen peroxide rinse.
they have a simple but effective morning and night skincare routine. they remember to put on sunscreen, and have found one that doesn't feel icky.
they dedicate 30 minutes first thing in the morning and last thing at night to reading.
every evening, they cook meals for the family, and they're always delicious.
every tuesday, they take themself on a date.
every sunday, they plan the week out meticulously, mostly time blocking and meal planning.
once a month, they have a digital detox day.
their routines are so streamlined and easy that doing them is like second nature. they don't even have to think, they just do it.
Hobbies + Skills
they are physically active, and their favourite sports are fencing, badminton, and indoor rock climbing. they also enjoy pilates, yoga, and rowing and have tried horse riding.
they are c2 fluent in french and are proficient in auslan, hebrew, german, welsh, spanish, and mandarin. learning languages is a hobby for them.
they can mend their clothes beautifully and use embroidery techniques to make the mending visible. they know how to use both an electric and a treadle sewing machine and use them frequently to make historical fashion pieces.
learning is their number 1 passion. they love researching things relevant to their interests and remember everything they read. they study philosophy, history, and politics.
they can play guitar and piano decently well and do so regularly.
they play logic games like chess and sudoku.
Finances + Career
they are a speech pathologist working in private practice. their schedule is flexible and their work is rewarding. they specialise in AAC and get to spend lots of time making people's communication systems and advocating with their clients.
they are a published children's book author, and their series is a household name in their community. children at their temple come to them to give thoughts on the last book and ideas for the next. they work with cultural consultants so that each main character is properly represented.
they earn enough through work and investments to fund their lifestyle and save for retirement, at least $150,000 a year.
they have a high interest savings account with $10,000 in case of emergency.
they can afford to pay people for things that would otherwise take up time, like cleaning the house.
Environment + Material Things
they live in a townhouse in an inner suburb and co-own a holiday home in the south of france with a group of friends, which they go to once a year.
their garden is thriving and they have a grape trellis in their back garden.
their home is their sanctuary, it feels safe to be in and it's filled with beautiful things. there are fresh flowers on the table and pretty painted walls, and everything is clean.
their home includes a beautiful library with all kinds of books, but especially classics. their most precious books have been custom bound.
they have a private collection of antiques, from family heirlooms to bought pieces. some are kept in archival boxes, while others are restored and used for their intended purpose.
their fashion sense remains impeccable. they dress in their own style regardless of what's trendy and make many of their own clothes so everything can be exactly how they like it. they always overdress slightly, and have a good amount of eveningwear in addition to their day closet. their wardrobe matches their lifestyle.
they have a small but meaningful jewellery collection, filled with inherited and new classic pieces.
Community + Relationships
they are engaged in both their local and religious communities. they live in a world where there doesn't have to be conflict between the two.
they have friend groups of all different kinds, with people from different generations, backgrounds, identities, and abilities.
their closest friends also believe in relationship anarchy, and won't abandon them for a new romantic relationship.
they go to pub trivia with friends.
they have healed enough and have enough money to foster children, and though it's limited to one at a time, they consider them all their kids.
they love and take care of their cats more than words can say. their cats live a luxurious life and get lots of cuddles (if they want them).

Working with equine vets is so fraught, because they think they're experienced and/or trained in universal horse behaviorism, but they're actually familiar with a near-universal cultural background that creates certain consistent behavioral responses.
For example: you're supposed to handle and train horses from a young age so they are exposed to lots of important stimuli throughout their development. You want your 1,000-2,000 pound animal to be calm when faced with blowing bags, kids on bikes, loud cars engines, and a thousand other things, because otherwise you have a panicked 1,000-2,000 pounds of horse trying to escape with zero rational thought besides "fleeeeeeeeeeeee and kick it to shit along the way so it doesn't get you."
In the USA, most young horses get training that would be considered abusive in pets like cats/dogs. One of those things is hard-tying. That's when you take a foal, put a halter on it, and tie them to a post on a very short lead. Then you let them get bored/upset/scared and try to move away. They are young and not very strong yet, so they can't no matter how much they struggle. And then they learn helplessness when tied up and don't pull even as adults. To be clear, this is abusive and there are much better ways of training a horse to stand calmly while tied, just like there are ways to train dogs to be calm while tied up for a bit. This is just common and isn't illegal in the USA. Both healthy and abusive training methods aim for roughly the same goals: a predictable and calm horse that tolerates medical examinations, new stimuli, leads/ties well and doesn't pull, to name a few. This is for safety purposes. Horses are large, and dangerous even under the best of circumstances just because they're flipping huge. A dog steps on your foot, maybe an ouch? A horse steps on your foot, maybe an ouch in best case scenario, maybe a broken foot.
However, Partner's rescue horse didn't get any training of any kind as a foal, good or bad. He was born right when a breeding ranch was starting to go under and he was entirely neglected. He was just loose in a pasture, feral. He wasn't handled as a foal. He wasn't haltered. He wasn't trained. He wasn't habituated to anything scary or unusual. Then when he was about ten, they decided to rectify that mistake and then a did a really really great job of traumatizing him in short bursts, then letting him back out in the pasture, now even more afraid of humans and new things after the "training" didn't work, leave him alone a few months, repeat.
Eventually my partner (a positive reinforcement trainer) met him right around the time he had been sold and a new person was carrying out their own inept attempt to cow an adult, traumatized horse into submission they way they would a untraumatized foal, and it went so badly that that person decided to have him put down. So my partner convinced them to sell the horse to him, and ten years later Canner-the-horse has come so so so so far and is trained to do many impressive and cool things, but he will never have the same reactions as a normal horse born and trained in the usa. And he is always going to have that trauma background and his "flight" reaction to stress turned way the fuck up.
All this to say, it was really fucking annoying when the who vet insisted she knew horse behaviorism stayed right on him continuing to examine him as he started to back away, because her experiences says "he'll stop when he hits the fence because that's what horses that have been this calm do," when Canner's actual instinct says "bolt the second I feel trapped because that's what's kept me safe before."
Thankfully we did prevent that (him having his horsey ptsd triggered and bolting) from happening.
Annoyingly I'm going to have to do the blood draw myself because he was too nervous after that examination to risk having her pull the blood.
And she's one of the best, most flexible horse vets I've ever met and I feel lucky she was so chill about following our instructions for the most part and will accept a blood sample drop-off that I take. sigh.

The Farm
Media Godless
Character Whitey Winn
Couple Whitey X Reader
Rating Sweet AF
Concept Farm Girl
I rose from my bed before dawn pushing my blankets off me, I fixed my bed and immediately slipped into my boots, lacing them up as tight as I could even if my blisters and sore spots were already aching. Once both were on I stood on my dusty floorboards readjusting my underdress where it had shifted in the night I got my much more flexible corset tying up the ribbons, I slipped on all my various skirts then my little cream dress over the top, I got my brown apron from the rim of my almost completely shattered mirror almost being unable now to see my reflection at all I tied it at my back with a bow. I put my hair in a long braid with a ribbon and grabbed my tools from my pocket heading out of my little wooden house to be faced with the early morning grey before the sun rises but I didn't bother taking much interest. I had far more important work to do.
"Oh for god- Danny. Get back here" I complained chasing after Danny duck who was halfway across the farm already "you clever little thing, how do you keep getting out of there" I complained taking him back to the pen. I went to the shed grabbed the feed for the horses, taking it to the stables and letting them eat while I merely spot-cleaned their stables. Then going along with my shovel leaving feed and water at all the animal's pens and scooping any muck that needed to be taken away, the ducks, the chickens, the goats, lastly I fed the pigs giving them a good clean and some water to freshen up their mud trying to go but finding a tug on my dress turning back to see waddles the little piglet almost all pink with only one brown spot over his left eye and ear the runt of his farrow and really only survived his baby stage because I brought him into the house and fed him myself if I didn’t he would have past away not long after he was born or been crushed under his mother and siblings, he was holding my skirt in his mouth looking at me
"Alright" I sighed letting him waddle around behind me squeaking happily all the while
I went out and checked everything in the fields making sure no birds or other animals had gotten in it, going to the well to fill up my watering can in order to water everything as we were days from a good rain. Using my little trowel to dig up any weeds I spotted trying to make their way up in the world often I could just give them waddles to devour. I let the animals who could be allowed to play in the yard out of course while I worked on planting in the field and making sure the farm ran smoothly all with waddles wandering behind me. But as I was pulling up a fresh pale of water from the well I noticed something, a horse heading this way. I knew the horse immediately so I set everyone back into their pens trying to put waddles back with his family but he wasn't having it "alright. Come on then" I sighed letting him follow me to the gates where the horse stopped and its rider climbed down
"Hiya y/n"
"What do you want Mr Winn?" I glared crossing my arms
"Same as always, come see my lil darlin" he Cooes leaning over the fence to give my cheek a kiss
"Fine" I sighed unlocking the gate and letting him inside immediately waddles went to his leg
"Awww Hiya little guy, sorry forgot ya carrot today," he told him giving waddles a pet "ya gettin' chubby guy maybe we'll have to make ya into tasty bacon"
Immediately waddles squealed and ran behind my skirts at the mere mention of that word
"Whitey! Don't you'll scare him, you know he doesn't like that word" I told him off giving poor waddles a pet as he was now shaking "apologize"
"Sorry waddles I was only jokin'"
"put ted on the stable with Millie and Maggie," I told him
"Course, he's missed his girls" he chuckled giving ted a pet
"I'm sure they missed him too"
"Ya sure, ya don't just keep me around so ya have access to a couple healthy stallions?" He smirked
"Shut up whitey" I told him slapping the back of his head and knocking his hat off he tied ted up in the stables and I went to the hen house with my basket gathering eggs with now both waddles and whitey following along behind me
"So… have ya missed me?"
"I suppose whitey"
"Cause I missed ya. I missed ya a lot"
"Well I've been busy whitey, this place doesn't run all by itself. Even when I do come to town for supplies you're always in the office or asleep anyway"
"cause ya come town at six in the mornin' darlin" he says "I miss not seein ya" he says wrapping his arms around my waist
"I missed you too whitey" I smiled giving him a kiss "now bugger off I have work to do," I told him pushing him away
"Ya need a hand?"
"Look for eggs." I told him
"Alright." He smiled helping where he could to clear the henhouse
"Ohh dear"
"What?"
"Poor Henrietta. Fourth round no eggs. Only a couple more before we'll have to make stew"
"Really?"
"One of those things whitey hens don't lay forever."
"Hu. Hope when I stop bein' useful ya don't turn me into stew"
"I'll consider it" I smiled heading out with my eggs in hand and taking them to the sorting table "what exact use to me are you now whitey?"
"Hey! I'm useful."
"For?"
"..... I. Bring ya stuff. Sometimes"
"Think faster whitey the waters boiling" I warn sorting the eggs into ones I'd keep, ones I'd take to labelle and ones I'd put back for future chickens
"I'm useful" he pouts cuddling me again kissing my shoulder "I'm a pillow. I'm a blanket. I'm… ya future husband"
"Are you now?"
"Hummm"
"Somebody has to ask first"
"workin' on it. Waitin' for bill to give me a raise"
"Is it really a good idea for Labelle's deputy to have a wife out on a farm?"
"I gotta have a life away from work darlin"
"I guess so whitey" I laughed holding his hands so we could cuddle
“Ummmm I missed ya, so bad my lil darlin” he cooes giving me little kisses and squeezing me tightly “I wish I could come out and see ya more often,”
“Well you're here now best make the most of it”
"I am" he cooes kissing my cheek "Maybe I should... move a bit more of my stuff out here? keep my stuff here on the farm with ya"
"Oh?"
"Maybe, so I get used to the trip back and forth. That and it'll make it easier when I do move onto the farm"
"I don't think you'd like living out here whitey"
"why not? fresh air, space for ted, plenty of space to practice without shootin' anybody, a waddles to pet, and a beautiful lil girly to snuggle"
"I think you'd get bored out here"
"why there's always stuff do? or at least ya always doin' stuff?"
"Alright, go fetch water from the well, then go clean out the duck pen, then stock the stables with hay, then chop firewood, then sweep the yard, then repair that loose fence post, then -"
"Alright, alright I get it." he laughs "Ya a busy lil darlin', but I really mean it y/n. I wanna move up to the farm with ya, I know it's a lot of work but surely ya want an extra set of hands," he says "I know its a lot of work but, Ya worth it lil darlin" he cooes turning me to face him
"You're sure?"
"of course I am, it's a lot of work but, this is your home. And soon it'll be mine too"
"Umm I love you" I smiled hugging him tightly
"Love ya too lil darlin" He cooes squeezing me tightly I smiled moving back a little and giving his lips a sweet kiss he happily kissed back slowly and gently until we were interrupted by waddles who was squeaking for attention at our feet "Yeah we love ya too little guy," he laughs giving waddles a pet
"Humm my silly boys" I giggled at them
"well works all done, so Can we go inside and cuddle?”
“Alright” I laughed finishing up my work he happily tugged me top the house little waddles going to the porch bouncing excitedly
“Sorry little guy, we’re gonna have a little alone time,” he said pushing him towards the pig pen and tugging me inside the house.

liam charmont.
despite being only twenty-six liam’s so damn tired. he’s considered golden. the perfect child but even perfect has it’s cracks. he’s known to put the weight of the world on his shoulders, taking his job as future king all too seriously. most would look at liam and think he’s a stick in the mud but underneath his regal and calm exterior he is philip and aurora’s son. he’s a hopeless romantic, albeit he’s a realist which separates him from his family. while they all seem to live in a fantasy where nothing can go wrong, liam is stuck in reality. he may be easy-going and kind but liam has a terrible temper. it’s hard to get liam to a point where he’s vicious but it’s not uncommon. he’s gotten into fights because of his temper. in recent months he’s chosen his own happiness and freedom. whether that makes him the villain in certain people’s eyes he doesn’t care anymore. liam’s allowed the institution to take so much from him and he won’t allow it anymore.

From Rein to Cow: A Step-by-Step Guide to Training Your Horse for Success in the Arena
Training your horse for success in the arena requires a blend of patience, precision, and skill. The journey from basic rein training to mastering cow work is both challenging and rewarding. In this guide, we break down the process into actionable steps, helping you and your horse excel in reined cow horse competitions.
1. Start with the Basics: Establish Groundwork
Before stepping into the arena, solid groundwork is essential. A well-trained horse on the ground will translate to better performance under saddle. Focus on:
- Haltering and Leading: Ensure your horse responds calmly and respectfully.
- Desensitization:Introduce your horse to new objects, sounds, and movements to build confidence.
- Flexibility and Control:Teach your horse to yield its hindquarters and forequarters to your cues.
A horse that understands groundwork is more likely to trust and respond to you during advanced training.
2. Lay a Strong Foundation with Rein Training
Rein work is the foundation of reined cow horse training. Begin by teaching your horse to respond to rein cues with precision. Key steps include:
- Stopping: Train your horse to halt promptly using voice commands and light rein pressure.
- Backing: Introduce backing up as a controlled, straight movement.
- Turning: Practice direct and neck reining to guide your horse effectively.
Consistency and repetition are key at this stage to develop responsiveness and trust.
3. Develop Your Horse’s Athleticism
Physical fitness is vital for a successful arena performance. Incorporate exercises that build strength, agility, and endurance:
- Hill Work: Strengthens muscles and improves balance.
- Loping Circles: Enhances stamina and smoothness in gait transitions.
- Obstacle Courses: Builds coordination and mental sharpness.
A fit horse is better equipped to handle the demands of reining and cow work.
4. Introduce Your Horse to Reining Patterns
Reining patterns are the cornerstone of reined cow horse competitions. Begin practicing the basic elements:
- Circles: Work on maintaining a steady gait and precise size variations.
- Sliding Stops: Teach your horse to stop with power and control, engaging its hindquarters.
- Spins: Start with slow, deliberate turns and gradually increase speed.
Break down each movement into manageable steps, rewarding your horse for effort and improvement.
5. Familiarize Your Horse with Cattle
Introducing your horse to cattle is a gradual process that requires patience. Follow these steps to build confidence:
- Observation: Allow your horse to watch cattle from a distance to get accustomed to their movements.
- Controlled Interaction: Work with calm, predictable cattle to ease your horse into the experience.
- Tracking Exercises: Practice moving in sync with a cow’s movements, focusing on control and positioning.
This stage lays the groundwork for effective cow work in the arena.
6. Teach Your Horse to Read and React to Cattle
Once your horse is comfortable around cattle, refine its ability to anticipate and respond to a cow’s movements. Key exercises include:
- Boxing: Teach your horse to control a cow’s movement within a confined area.
- Fence Work: Practice guiding the cow along the fence, focusing on speed and positioning.
- Circling: Train your horse to maneuver the cow in tight, controlled circles.
These skills are essential for excelling in cow work competitions.
7. Hone Communication and Trust
The bond between horse and rider is crucial for success in the arena. Strengthen your partnership by focusing on:
- Subtle Cues: Use light rein, leg, and body signals to communicate.
- Consistency: Maintain clear, predictable commands during training sessions.
- Positive Reinforcement: Reward your horse for progress to build confidence and motivation.
A trusting relationship ensures smooth communication during high-pressure situations.
8. Practice Combining Reining and Cow Work
Once your horse has mastered reining patterns and cow work separately, it’s time to bring the two elements together. Start by:
- Transition Drills: Practice moving seamlessly from reining maneuvers to cow work.
-Simulated Runs*: Set up mock competition scenarios to build familiarity with the flow of events.
- Time Management: Focus on executing patterns and cow work efficiently within a set timeframe.
This integration prepares you and your horse for the challenges of competition.
9. Prepare Mentally and Physically for Competition
Arena success isn’t just about technical skills—it’s also about mental and physical readiness. Prepare by:
- Conditioning: Maintain your horse’s fitness through regular exercise and balanced nutrition.
- Exposure to New Environments: Practice in different arenas to reduce performance anxiety.
- Mental Toughness: Stay calm and focused during training and competitions to set the tone for your horse.
Preparation minimizes stress and enhances performance on competition day.
10. Evaluate Progress and Adjust Training
Training is an ongoing process that requires regular assessment and adaptation. Evaluate progress by:
- Tracking Performance: Keep a journal of your horse’s strengths and areas for improvement.
- Seeking Feedback: Work with trainers or peers to identify blind spots in your approach.
- Adjusting Routines: Modify exercises and focus areas based on your horse’s needs.
A flexible approach ensures continuous growth and success.
Conclusion
Training your horse for the arena is a step-by-step process that builds on trust, communication, and skill. By focusing on groundwork, rein training, athletic conditioning, and cow work, youll create a versatile and confident partner ready to shine in reined cow horse competitions.
Remember, patience and consistency are your best tools on this journey. Celebrate small victories, embrace challenges, and enjoy the unique bond you share with your horse. Together, you’ll master the dance of reined cow horse training and achieve success in the arena.

It provides strong yet gentle containment due to its smooth surface and increased wall thickness compared to standard fencing materials. This protects horses from injuries commonly associated with traditional fences.
