Hi Mark, while I do think the previous ask about giving *every* card in the game flavour text might be a bit unreasonable, given the main issue is text space, would it ever be conceivable to give cards flavour text exclusive to Gatherer/Arena where it wouldn't fit on the card?
When the Magic website first started we had a feature called Flavoracle, which allowed us to give flavor text to cards that didn’t have any. We stopped doing it as very few players cared.

Can I get your thoughts?
This post goes out to everyone out there who still follows my Tumblr. I’ve been having thoughts about what I want to do with this account and how I want to keep it as a part of my life, even though I haven’t been using it the way I used to.
So here’s the thing: I’ve been thinking lately that I want to start journaling.
Not like a blog where I’m trying to produce content that I think people will like. But an actual journal where I write down my experiences and my thoughts to get them out of my head and process them, whether pleasant or not. Whether fun or not. Whether funny or not. Just writing my thoughts with no regard to any possible audience.
But if I did that, I wouldn’t want to have to censor it. I wouldn’t want to think to myself “The only audience that matters is yourself,” but then also say, “But make sure you don’t swear or talk about sex or weed or anything because this used to be a very ‘family friendly’ blog, and you don’t want to alienate a lot of people by changing that.”
So the way I see it, I kind of have two main options here.
I could begin using this blog as my online journal, writing my deeply personal thoughts. That would probably have me posting a lot more than I am right now, but it would also mean potentially pushing away people who have supported my blog in the past, by posting content they’re not comfortable following anymore.
I could create a totally separate blog from this one, and use that as my online journal. Maybe I would share a link to it sometime, or maybe I’ll just wait to see if anyone finds it on their own without knowing that it’s me. That could work out well, though it would probably mean I would still be posting rarely on this blog for the foreseeable future. (Just because of time constraints if nothing else.)
So my friends, I bring this question to all of you and ask for your thoughts and your wisdom. Which solution would you personally prefer? If you feel strongly enough about your opinion on it, please feel free to elaborate on WHY you feel that way in a reblog. I would very much like to know your thoughts.
Having said that, if you’ve read the post so far, can you please select one of the options in the survey below? I’d really love to check the temperature of the room.

Heads Up Seven Up x2
Thanks to @toribookworm22 for tagging me! I've been still working on ShadowJack, and have finally had the challenge opportunity to finally establish to determine exactly how shadow powers should work!
Conveniently enough, it fits perfectly into 14 lines! And for those feeling so inclined to add their own 14 lines, I'm no-pressure tagging @peggydreadful, @gingerly-writing, @loopyhoopywrites, @flavoracle and of course anyone else who wishes to do so!
In the light of the full moon, I looked out from my vantage point, tracing an unbroken path of shadows to the streets below. Then, with an overabundance of confidence, I stepped off the roof, and plummeted into darkness.
My bravado was almost immediately punished.
As I melted into the shadow of the apartment building, I discovered something new: darkness had direction.
When I'd practiced my powers in the barracks, that darkness hadn't been particularly distinct. Everything was a result of my makeshift curtain - and moving around within that single shadow occurred almost without a thought.
Now, in Vashitok proper, the full moon's light draped the city in a multitude of shadows, each one with its own defined form. Almost like a giant slide, I found I could glide down darknesses with ease - so long as I traveled in the same direction as the light that created them.
Also like a giant slide, when sliding down, one tends to speed up.
My momentum felt more mental than physical, but I absolutely felt myself accelerating as I shifted from shadow to shadow. The alleyway rushed towards me, and I tried to slow myself down.
That was when I discovered a second fact about darkness: attempting to move against the direction of shadow was more difficult.
Like engaging the parking brake on the highway, my attempt to slow down was too little too late. With a jolt, I found myself spat out of the darkness ten feet off the ground.

I just had the surreal experience of seeing a @flavoracle post in a tiktok video. Like, I know that guy. I didn't expect a post of his to breach containment. I don't know how to feel. I guess mostly I find it funny

I haven’t read any Magic story since the “War of the Spark” novel. (It was a really big letdown.) But I have to know, did we ever find out who the Raven Man is?!
no 😔

I generated this using AI, and in all honesty, I’m pretty damn pleased with how it turned out. ☺️
I asked it to create a Schoolhouse Rock style song teaching kids about terminology in the LGBT community to prepare for their first Pride Parade. I think it delivered a pretty awesome result 😁🏳️‍🌈

Alterra Worldbuilding Journal - Introduction
Hey everybody! Dave here (aka @flavoracle) with an introduction for a series of posts I’m calling the “Alterra Worldbuilding Journal.” (You know, like the title above implies.)
Here’s the main thing you need to know about the posts in this series: These share thoughts about and possible interpretations of the world of Alterra that have come up during my weekly talks with the game’s creator and head designer, Parrish (aka @professortallguy) but none of it should be taken as the final word or “cannon” of the world. While I certainly like these theories and worldbuilding ideas, “Age of Exploration” players and storytellers should NOT feel constrained or restricted by anything I’m posting here.
Why am I taking the time to write this whole intro? Because in these posts, I’m going to be writing these thoughts and theories as if they are fact, and not speculation. (Believe me, after starting some early drafts, doing this allows me to keep the wording MUCH simpler than constantly adding qualifying statements like, “according to this theory...” or, “so my thoughts on this are...”)
This post will also serve as a kind of master post that I can update with links to all of the Worldbuilding Journal posts below the “Keep Reading” area.
OK, so with that out of the way, let’s get to some worldbuilding, shall we?
Alterra Worldbuilding Journal Entries
Scarecrows
Kalapuken
Elemental Heavens (coming soon)
P.S. This series will replace the old “Flavor Cravings” series that I totally forgot already existed until I already finished this post. But I will go ahead and add the existing Flavor Cravings entries to the list above. (Because I figure they belong here too.)

Looking at your art causes noises inside me that I can't control. This includes (but is not limited to) gerbil-like chirrups, wistful sighs, and and satisfied grunts.
I very much hope this means it’s good and not that you are slowly polymorphing into a gerbil...
