the oven caught on fire while my boyfriend was home alone cooking and he had to use the fire extinguisher which got EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!! so i’ve been spending the last several hours scrubbing the oven and floors clean.

Getting wildly invested in developing lemon bc some key traits she has are

likes cooking but from the perspective of "why low heat for 10 hours when you could just, extremely high heat for 10 seconds?"

can work with cold food to an extent - she's got supernaturally bad luck and will probably drop it on the floor

she also enjoys contemporary/modern dance and excels at it! Very good control of her body and the space around it

she involves the flamethrower, doing high energy full body motions while twirling the flames around herself

got her name from her first successful kitchen endeavor - smoked some lemon slices and ended up not reducing them to ash, but making one of those decorative dried-fruits-on-strings things that she's immensely proud of bc of the amount of control it took

her favorite color is indeed yellow and she's got the personality to match - she's a ball of sunshine

usually wears thick fireproof gloves and boots in response to her especially more explosive cooking endeavors, but will forego them when fire dancing to have greater mobility and more perception of her environment + the fire itself

Bowynn Gods: Io

Io  (Eye-oh)  Goddess of the hearth, domesticated fire, cooking and kitchens, the home, warmth and family. She is the daughter of Phoenix but her father is unknown.  She is an all-around domestic goddess but mostly dealing with areas around the kitchen. And Io is one of the most revered of the Bowynn Gods. She is the goddess that blesses all food as it’s cooked. She cleanses and cleans cooking supplies and wards pests from the kitchen and home. When she is rarely not in the home, Io often wanders markets to see that picked produce and food is fresh and healthy. Back in the home, when not cooking, Io labors to keep the home clean. Io’s name means “Soot” and she is sometimes called Soot Girl or Soot Woman. As her fire attribute, Io makes sure all home fires (lamps, hearths and candles) burn safe and without mishaps., She also tends to the family needs, to make sure beds are made and clean, tables are clear and floors are swept, laundry is clean and purified.

      There are not too many sacred stories of the goddess Io, as she is often contained to the homes of Bowynn folk. The most important stories tell of her spending the seven sacred days with the first tribes of people and taught the fine arts of cooking. This included baking till the god Hyu took over that attribute. At first Io was apprehensible about handing over such a duty to Hyu, being a man. But Hyu proved himself most worthy. What’s more, Hyu charmed Io and eventually wed her. For their wedding feast Hyu made Io the most tremendous beautiful cake ever.

      The goddess Io is almost seen as a mother figure; your hair pulled back and wrapped in a ribbon. Her clothing is most plain and grey in color. Not too many times is she seen wearing a Bowynn Hlad, instead an apron. Unlike other gods, she has no totem animal, so if Io is seen outside a home, often in the market square, she is wrapped with a grey stola, so not to draw her immortality to others. Instead of a staff, Io bears a broom to clean out hearths. Sacred offerings to Io consist of food, incense and votive candles.

The comment would have sounded harsh and sarcastic from any other person, but from Byron and shared with his beloved brother it took a completely unique tone. Byron knew better than anyone the important and arduous work that Elwin did, and he did not keep grudge nor grievance against Elwin for his absences. Not to mention the fact that Byron himself was not always present in Rosilith proper. He more often was looking over his ward in Port Isolde, tending to his business and his coffers. In spite of all of this, there was no love lost between them, and when Byron came to visit to learn that his brother had just made it home as well, he was eager to greet the returning noble and bring mirth into what must have surely been a stressful and burdensome trip.

Thus it was that as he came in close Byron clapped a strong arm over his brother's back and pulled him in to a hearty sort of half-hug, "A very merry welcome home for my esteemed older brother! I bet you are quite a bit surprised to see me here, no? I had intended on following up on some investments before I came, but I was missing my family. And how were your endeavors? Everything turned... favorable, I hope?"

Just the lightest drop in his tone, as if to silently denote that he understood the gravity of the situation. And to offer a shoulder should things be too grim for his usual light and boisterous mood. Elwin, strong and courageous as he was, was also just as vulnerable to the horrors of war and battle as anyone else, and he whatever he might need after the return of keeping the peace of his duchy may or may not be his loud celebration.
