Preorders for Wanderlust, a Klance-centric Voltron travel zine, are now open! We’re excited to finally put this digital zine on sale and showcase our lovely cover, designed by @fivtoo​​! They will remain open until May 22!

We also have some background ships included in drawings and writing, so expect to see some Veracxa, Romellura, Adashi, Curtashi, Curtadashi, and Hunay throughout the zine in addition to Klance!

Our Humble Beginnings :')

Once apon a time, a long, long time few weeks ago, when I was but a wee lad, there was a post. An Instagram post. By @fivtoo .

I'd been seeing Leakira posts for a while now, and I sure was interested. I really wanted to make/participate in a zine, of some sorts... perhaps to finally contribute to the fandom, or to quell my inner klangst. I commented on the post.

I was very very inspired. VERY INSPIRED.

Aaaaand we grew from there. Let me tell ya, I was DESPERATE in the start. I was messaging every single person who posted even one (1) time about Leakira, and that was a MASS effort, but it definitely paid off!

Now, we're almost at 1,000 followers, and I'm very, very shocked, because this started less than two weeks ago! After reaching 1,000, we really want to do something special.

Ok so this is an idea

So I’ve been seeing some people do the Body animatics for Voltron(especially Fivtoo Arts’ one on YouTube) and I love that song to bits.

But I’ve been thinking, there are so many other good, angsty (or just really good) Mother Mother songs out there.

So I decided to make small playlists for each of the five original palidins! I think that it could really just show some angst for each of the palidins, or just show some music I think they’d like.

I’m gonna start with lance’s because his was the easiest to make. For each one, I think there’s gonna be one main song that I believe truely describes how I see them, and then a bunch others that are either something they’d listen to, or feelings I think they would have. I hope you enjoy!

I’m a sucker for pretty much all shippy stuff, but color-coordination and rivals-to-lovers tropes especially. Plus, the fanart community for Klance is sooo huge which means I never run out of inspiration and content!

About fandom drama

I saw a post from @fivtoo on instagram about all the leakira drama and how the drama took away their motivation to create. I thought I would share my thoughts on it here incase anyone else was having this struggle.

Hey I saw your post about leakira and got worried about you but I only have my personal insta so I wanted to pm.

First off, I didn’t even know that there was drama about this because i thought it was obviously an AU. I don’t think people are legitimately thinking leakira is a reboot they are just kinda wishing and hoping it was. I understand that point of view and understand why people are angry but they are taking it a bit too far in my opinion. Yes, it really sucks and is disappointing that we kinda got played with the whole LGBT+ representation thing.

Honestly though, nothing is official yet (lance and Keith are still single and we don’t know what will happen next season we can only speculate) and although they (imo) did a poor job with it, shiro and Adam were a gay couple which is more representation than most shows tbh. But it is understandable that a lot of people are disappointed because we got our hopes up.

And one way of dealing with this disappointment was to make an AU where there is more LGBT+ representation, or “klance” is cannon, or whatever else a person would want to change about voltron. It just so happens that a lot of us agree and support the same changes and so this particular AU got so popular it was like “omg but if there was a voltron reboot it would be leakira”.

I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all. Leakira has just become the name or symbol of our own personal ideal version of voltron. There is a difference between fanart/AU’s/etc. and the real show. Everyone knows that and is aware of that.

Just because you make some type of art of an AU doesn’t mean you don’t support the real thing, it just means you would like to see the characters, relationships, or events in a different way. It’s a “what would happen if...” way of thinking. That doesn’t make you immature. You are simply exploring different ideas and concepts and sharing them with people.

That “this could happen feeling” inspires you and others to create art and stories based on the what if’s, it doesn’t mean you hate the way the show took the story, it just means that you’re exploring other potential paths the show could have taken. That is not and will never be a bad thing.

You are inquisitive and imaginative with the passion, drive, and talent to create. Don’t let others limit that imagination because they doubt your devotion to reality.

I just saw some of your animatics, and just wanted to say OH MY GOODNESS! They are truly amazing. I am just blown away by how you manage to color to all those different pictures. And your lighting is ...JUST....WOW...OMG. Not mention detailed facial expressions. I also wanted to ask, what program(s) do you use to make animatics?
