White - never seen anyone choose that one for him that’s really good, super interesting but I absolutely love it. Resurrection and white lantern duo my beloved.

Green - like you said nods nods. Takes some pretty strong will to claw his way out of his grave and everything else in his life. Him accepting it to piss of Bruce is such a funny image, thanks for providing it.

Blue - hope <3 it really is amazing he can keep going and getting back up again. Plus the healing thing is neat w the whole mini healer conversation he had with Donna (I think it was Donna? Maybe?) while he was Robin

Also consider… (I also have my knowledge from the same places so.. take this with a grain of salt? I didn’t even know about a couple of these before doing a little peek through the net)

Yellow - while yes the main thing is causing fear (not to say he can’t and doesn’t do that. Hello? Red Hood.) but to get a yellow ring/join the corps you have to face your greatest fear. And you have to do it with no help. Which really, I think Jason’s done that already a few times.

Indigo - this one can be cool too because it’s compassion based & I think Jason is compassionate in his own way through his whole life. Catherine, Shelia, The whole Garzonas thing, even as the Red Hood. His compassion drives him on numerous occasions & is very important to his character imo.

Plus, the indigo can heal people, so same stream as blue there. AND. They have the ability to “expose people to pain they have inflicted on other people.” Which I think very much fits….also teleportation I don’t really have an excuse for this it’s just neat.

Black - apparently wielded by the dead? So if Jason’s wielding it that’s. Ominous. I don’t have any strong opinions on it, I like all the rings & since it’s a ring for the deceased I thought I’d at least mention it in relation to our own zombie. Would be a hell of a way for him to come back. + I don’t really know a ton about the whole event surrounding these rings

Violet - The idea of it being love based is cute (similar vibes to indigo) & I love the designs/stories I’ve seen for Jason a lot. The ability to restore the recently deceased is pretty funky though. Something about love bringing them back and Jason’s own resurrection? Iirc though only women get rings? Dunno! Cool idea anyway & Jason breaking that pattern is fun.

Got a little ramble-y there. Honestly I can see at least one connection to every ring but orange (personal opinion based off my limited knowledge)

What lantern colour would you give to Jason + why?

Okay, let me start off by saying I’m really in no way qualified to form an opinion on this topic. My knowledge of the Lantern Corps is pretty much limited to that godawful movie with Ryan Reynolds, Hal Jordan in batfam fics, some JayKyle art on tumblr that I find really intriguing, and one really fun fic where Jason becomes a star sapphire (With Violet Light by Evilpixie). But, hey, I just spent 15 minutes researching the Corps on Wikipedia and bunch of fandom pages, so let’s do this thing.

Of the options, the three I considered the most seriously are:

Green. Jason’s got iron willpower in spades. Plus, Jason already has a thing for green, and just think about how much it would piss Bruce off.

Blue: I actually think Jason’s capacity for hope is what keeps him going. You don’t die twice and systematically lose or become estranged from everyone in your life you ever loved without being able to hope for a better tomorrow. Plus, blue is my favorite color. I dunno if Jason could handle needing a GL around to make his ring fully function, though. I kind of think he’d give it a month and then say fuck this, I’m going back to the guns.

White: I mean the resurrection tie-in is just so on the nose. Also, I really want to read the buddy-cop fic where Jay and Kyle travel the galaxy as White Lanterns.

Drum roll please …

I think I’m going to have to go with the classic and say Green.

Why don’t people ever include Jason’s whole Mystical Leap ability from Gotham Knights into fan stuff, like idk about yall but I think being able to make supernatural platforms midair is pretty neat. :) Just a little thought.

I would kill for a fic where Batman & Nightwing are going after Red Hood trying to catch him pre identity reveal and he pulls out this shit to get away. Makes him even more difficult to fight and catch + it’s that added difference between Robin Jason & Red Hood Jason

Just for fun I think people should consider the silly Lego outfits when designing suits, look at this goofy guy and his hamster ball outfit. I love it, I would sell my soul to see more art of the Robins (and Batman) in more and more insane getups. A different suit for every possible scenario!

Is Lazarus pit overdose a thing? If it’s not, I think it should be. there’s the whole trace of Lazarus thing, implying it somewhat sticks around the body in at least some stories/games/etc (whether it’s considered canon or not idk but there’s potential either way)

Anyway, what I’m getting at is Jason has been exposed to it at least 3 times (the original pit, the 2 times it was injected to bring him back..) if not more

SO IM JUST SAYING.. at what point does Jason start experiencing negative side affects from his repeated exposure to the supernatural toxic green immortal juice??

Sometimes I think about those characters (particularly heros/vigilantes/etc) that can ‘see’ through the fourth wall & break it, and it’s all fun & silly but then I think about if Jason Todd was one of those characters and remember the audience vote that got him killed. Not so fun & silly anymore 💔

Thinking how originally Jason was an acrobat too before that backstory got changed…

Consider an au where nothing bad happened ever (for now) and both the Graysons & the Todds were performing during the same time. Somehow the two groups meet.

Dick & Jason competing to be the ‘best’, teasing each other over their uniforms and things, pranking each other, just general affectionate bullying (yet they make sure to attend the others shows every time they can)

That competitive relationship growing into genuine brotherly bond (such as Dick, being the more older & more experienced, teaching Jason new tricks.)

Maybe later they work together on their own routine as a duo. Robins :)
