Echo: Hey Crosshair, I’ve got an idea for how to solve this. Crosshair, getting out his rifle: Yeah? Echo: Wh- No! That’s not the idea, Crosshair!
Hunter: I'm never having a debate with Fives again, they literally started their argument with "Riddle me this."
Echo: That’s a crazy idea. Insane. It doesn’t make sense. Fives: You’ll do it? Echo: Of course.
Crosshair: Hey there demons, It's me, ya boi. Tech: Crosshair, NO!
Crosshair: Fives has only knocked me out three time this week. Our friendship is really developing.
*The squad's reaction to being told they're the chosen one* Fives: I will not let you down. Crosshair: Sounds fun. Echo: K. Tech: No, I'm fucking not. Wrecker: Do I have to be? Hunter: Please god, I am so tired.
Hunter: If you got arrested what would be the charges? Echo: Theft. Tech: Disturbing the peace. Crosshair: Aggravated assault or maybe murder. Wrecker: Arson. Fives: All of the above. In that order, probably.
Crosshair, laying in bed: Get out of my room. Tech, standing just outside of the door frame: I’m not in your room.
Crosshair, grinning: Before you were what? Fives: Before I was- Crosshair: What? Fives: Before I was inter- Crosshair: Before you were interrupted? Fives: Cut me off one more time and I swear I'll- Crosshair: What? Fives: *makes frustrated sound* Echo, nervously: Stop that. Before they hurt you.
Fives: What's the signal when something goes wrong? Crosshair: We yell, 'oh shit.' Echo: ...That'll work.
Fives: Some people are like slinkies. Hunter: What? Fives: Not really good for much but bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs. Hunter: Hunter: Please don't push Crosshair down the stairs. Fives, pushing Crosshair down the stairs: Too late.

What makes me even sadder about Fives is knowing how much he would have loved Omega
Like the Domino twins would have been such great older brothers together
can you imagine the absolute chaos Omega and Fives who get into omg Echo would grow his hair back just so all of it could be gray.

FivesLives!au in which Fives survived (surprise!) and works as a bounty hunter post order-66. And in a random cantina meets Echo--
This whole thing started when my sleep-deprived brain wanted to see Fives in a jacket, and then things happened and now I have a complete au. I don't know if I ever write something, but feel free to use the design/idea (just pls tag me so I can see it :))
Also, yes, he has a ponytail. No, no explanation for that :)
#also if it's messy it is bc I did this on my phone which is tiny :(#but it's better than i expected#so here it is! :D#star wars#the clone wars#tcw#fives lives au#star wars art#fanart#arc trooper fives#fives#tookadraws

What can you tell me about My Sister's Keeper?
Yes! This is a Fives Lives AU where Fives makes if off Kamino with AZI, but not without discovering Omega, and rescuing her as well. Here is an excerpt from my rough draft of chapter one:
The supply closet is too small for a full-grown clone and a medical droid to fit comfortably. And yet, here he is, knees practically hugged against his ears and AZI’s chassis gouging into his shins. The droid put himself in low power mode to conserve energy and hide his signature just in case they were still searching for them in the city. Which is unlikely after their very public and very fiery “deaths.” “What are our next steps, CT-5555?” AZI asks, his audio volume so low that Fives has to strain to hear him. “For the hundredth time,” Fives hisses irritably, “my name is Fives.” “Apologies,” AZI says. “What are our next steps, Fives?” “We’re going to wait until the graveyard shift, stow ourselves away on a ship, and get out of here.” “You mean we are going to leave Kamino?” “Well, we aren’t spending the rest of our lives hiding in storage closets if I have anything to say about it.” There is a long pause. Fives thinks he might literally be able to feel the gears turning in the medical droid’s head. “I am afraid I am unable to leave Kamino at this time?” “What? Why?” Fives fights to keep his voice temperate, but panic rises like bile in his throat. Without AZI, all of this will be for nothing. “I cannot leave Omega,” AZI responds promptly. “She is my primary directive outside of the patients assigned to my care.” Fives stares into the dim, yellow eyes of the droid. “Who’s Omega?” “She is an unaltered, enhanced clone.” Fives vaguely remembers the rumors and stories that had been whispered through the barracks, a clone boy whose age wasn’t accelerated, who had been adopted by the host, Jango Fett as his son. “You mean like that Boba kid?” “Precisely! Omega is the female counterpart of Alpha…or Boba, as he was renamed by the DNA source, Jango Fett.” As much as Fives enjoyed this little history lesson, it is not the point. The point is that AZI is refusing to leave with him because of this clone girl. Fives hates how frantic his voice sounds, that he is pleading with a droid. “If you stay, AZI, Nala Se will have your memory banks wiped. You won’t remember anything we learned about the inhibitor chip. You won’t remember how to remove them. I need you. Without you, my brothers will stay enslaved by whatever entity told the long necks to put these chips inside us. Without you, no one will believe me. Without you, people will die! My brothers will die! I need you, AZI, please!” The droid tips his head thoughtfully, unmoving features surprisingly expressive. “I suppose, an alternate course of action would be to bring Omega with us. We have already determined that Kamino is not safe for those who have proven difficult. Omega’s life could soon be in danger.” Fives’ mouth drops open, and it takes him a moment to formulate words. “Are you crazy? We will be on the run! We’re wanted criminals, AZI. That’s no life for a kid.” “I will not leave Kamino without Omega,” AZI reiterates as firmly as his programmed bedside manner will allow. Fives presses his forehead against his knees. This changes everything. He doesn’t even know how he’s going to take care of himself, let alone a kid! He looks up and AZI is staring down at him, waiting for the only instructions he will accept. Fives sighs. “Fine. We bring Omega. Do you think you can get her here without getting caught.” “I am certain of it,” AZI says, voice tripping on the edge of excitement. Fives nods. “Then the new plan is as follows: save Omega, save ourselves, then save the entire clone army.” He smiles grimly. “Sounds easy enough.”
I have vague plots for several stories for this AU, but probably won't get to finish this one until I get through a few of my other WIPs 😅

Bad Batch AU Idea:
Fives survives. He reconnects with Echo after the latter is saved from Skako Minor, though Fives doesn’t join the Bad Batch when Echo does. He is happy that his brother and fellow Domino is alive and with a squad that will support him at this stage of his life.
Since Fives doesn’t have his chip in anymore, Order 66 doesn’t affect him.
He manages to get away from wherever he’s at and tracks down Echo and the rest of the Batch. When Fives does catch up with them, they’ve lost Crosshair, gained Omega, and fled Kamino. Fives is relieved to see them relatively in one piece, though he’s sad to learn about what happened with Cross.
But then, Omega’s there — and Fives immediately shifts into Chaotic Influencer of Little Sisters mode upon meeting her.
Hunter develops even more grey hair. Wrecker likes Fives a little too much. Tech impresses Fives with his Ludicrous Ideas and reckless flying. Omega loves that she’s gained another brother, as unexpected as it was.
And Echo is simultaneously so happy to have Fives with them and mildly concerned when Fives and Omega team up very quickly to prank him. (He winds up with bumper stickers all over his armor and glitter paint on his scomp, and no one will own up to doing that. Echo knows who did it and isn’t mad about it all. It means that they love him.)

Five for Fives
FivesLivesAU!
Fives x female!reader (pronouns only)
Word Count: 3.6k
Summary and A/N: Read a fic the other day, and I wanted to read more similar stories, but there weren’t really any more like it… so I wrote my own! Inspired by this fic by @deewithani who kindly was totally fine with letting me add the inspo link here! I felt like we all needed something happy to read and Fives has been on my mind lately… so hope at least one person enjoys this too! Just sorta cranked it out because I was inspired and wanted to see Fives get a chance to have a life after war filled with love, with Echo, and with Rex, and I wanted a future for the little clones we know exist but who never fought in war because they hadn’t been out of their grown tubes very long… so have some cuteness and cuddles!
PS this is a different Fives Lives AU than my other fic from a few weeks ago
TW: not much? Uh, Fives lives, has a long-term partner, and this is set as though he and Rex and Echo are leading the clone resistance we see beginning in the Bad Batch. Added in a few references to characters I couldn’t fit in the fic too! Could be read as though it’s just Fives and the Reader and Rex and Echo are the best friends of the family, or it could be read as though it’s poly, totally up to you as the reader to interpret it however feels right to you! I just wanted to make sure the 501st trio wasn’t cruelly separated anymore, so have a cute little family fic! Just cuddles and cuteness and fluff! Though it is still a bit suggestive (it's Fives, that's totally unavoidable), so still NSFW, tho I surprised myself by actually avoiding writing smut in a Fives fic... but still enjoy the snuggles and cuteness and suggestive fluff!!!
blue dividers by @/djarrex! banners are my own!
“How are we gonna tell Echo?” Fives asked, gazing happily at the 5 small, peacefully sleeping faces scattered across the room like spilled tookas.
You, the woman in his arms grinned, “Leave that to me!” You kissed his cheek with a grin.
Fives nuzzled into your shoulder. He loved the way you balanced him out and always remembered to consider Echo in your plans as well, especially now that the war was over and the operation to rescue all their brothers was underway.
“He’s gonna tell us 2 is more than we can reasonably handle.” Fives comments.
“He was also a cadet with a squad of 5 once, remember? He knows the bond you boys have. He might protest, but we will make him understand. Besides, they’re too little to separate them, that would have only traumatized them for life, and I couldn’t do that. You saw their eyes when they looked up at us and asked if they could stay together. You couldn’t say no either,” you poked him comedically.
Fives chuckled, and hugged you tighter to his chest. “Yeah, and I wouldn’t change it for the whole galaxy!”
They stand there, just watching the small sleepers for a few minutes.
“How old do you think they are?” Fives asked, excitedly.
“They can’t be much older than 4, in normal years. They have well developed language skills, but they’re still working on hand-eye coordination. So… probably about 2? Likely decanted not long after the war started… maybe around the time you and Echo shipped out for the first time?” You reasoned.
“Not long before we met you,” Fives kissed your cheek playfully and you giggled quietly, squeezing the strong hands wrapped around your middle.
“We’re gonna have to get beds for them tomorrow,” you whispered, eyes glazed over as you worked through the logistics of having 5 new additions to the family.
“Mmmmm, sounds like a tomorrow problem then,” Fives whispered, whisking you off your feet, “They look comfortable where they are, they’ll be fine for tonight.”
“They’re on the floor, Fives,” you chuckled lightly, wrapping your arms around his neck.
“They’re used to it, we all slept anywhere anytime. At least they’re all sleeping at the same time.” He told you, closing the door to your bedroom behind him as he carried you to the bed. “And you were so good with them, Cyar’ika. I could barely resist you all day.” He breathed into your chest as his lips trailed across your skin, sighing hungrily. “My turn!”
As Echo strolled across the base on this beautiful evening, a noise in the hanger bay caught his attention. Odd, no one should be in the hangar bay at this hour. There were no surprise missions that he was aware of, though they had just rescued a large quantity of clone cadets from an Imperial facility the day before. The little ones were supposed to have all been shipped off to Alderaan and Pandora, but perhaps they miscounted? He’d have to comm Fives and let him know if he found one still here. Fives and his girlfriend had been so excited to get to rescue young clones.
He followed the continuation of the noise, and discovered it changed from the drumming of what was presumably small running feet, into the sound of larger stomping strides accompanied by a lot of giggling.
The noise led him to the ship Fives and his partner had claimed as their own.
Echo called to them from the open ramp, “Everything alright in there?”
“Oh, Echo! Is that you?” A woman’s voice answered him over the laughter, “Come in! We could use a hand right now, actually,” she giggled.
Echo hurried into the ship, worried. You never asked for help, but then again it sounded like you had been laughing at the time? He rounded the corner and froze.
Well, that was the last thing he’d been expecting to see, but in hindsight he wasn’t sure why he hadn’t been expecting it. Fives always had been good with kids, and so were you.
The room was filled with commotion, mostly in the form of Fives, in full gear, stomping around and growling like he was pretending to be a big, scary monster, while trying his hardest not to burst into laughter. He was happier than Echo had ever seen him.
Fives had 3 small cadets clambering on him. One on his back, giggling wildly, and one wrapped tight around each of Fives’ legs, both squealing with joy.
Fives was laughing hard, especially as he made eye contact with Echo across the room, but it only lasted for a moment as one of the cadets lost their grip on his knee and tumbled to the floor, still giggling.
“Oops!” Fives chuckled, swooping the small puddle of giggling child off the floor and up into the air. “Aaaaaand UP we go!”
Echo could barely process what was going on, as you turned to him from the table behind where Fives and the 3 little ones now played.
There was another one in your arms, Echo noticed.
You beckoned Echo to you, and he obediently trotted over, though he was vaguely aware that it was an autopilot response from working so closely with you for so long.
The delightedly confused look on Echo’s face as he approached made you laugh too.
“Here, hold this one for me,” you instructed, depositing the one that had been on your hip into Echo’s arms.
Echo took the proffered child. It stared up at him with wide, familiar eyes. This was definitely one of the clone children you had all rescued in the days prior. The child nibbled on a large cookie as it stared calmly up at him. Echo blinked at it for a moment, content to just watch the child, unsure what it would do, knowing it could see that he was so different.
He and Fives had been this small once. He didn’t remember it, but knew it was deep in his past somewhere. He felt like he could see his own memories reflected in the wide, curious eyes of the child he held. But he wondered how he looked to a kid now, so many metal parts adorning his body, but without those parts, he wouldn’t have had the opportunity to rescue and now hold this child today. Echo could feel the conflict within him flickering in his eyes as he watched the smol bundle in his arms.
After a moment, the child seemed to decide he was an acceptable pillow too, and it nestled into his shoulder and went back to watching their brothers goof around the room.
Echo looked up, for you, vaguely aware that if you needed him to hold this one that meant there was something else you were up to.
He spotted you standing on the counter, fetching yet another child from atop the conservator, where it seemed, it had been breaking into a box of cookies.
“Hey Echo, Fives, I need you to—“ Rex rounded the corner, and reacted much the same as Echo. He froze, eyebrows raised, as he watched Fives tumble into a big cushy chair in the corner while being careful not to smoosh any of the kiddos clinging to him as they all laughed joyously.
Rex’s gaze continued around the room to Echo, standing behind Fives with a child in his arms, scomp securely tucked under its small bottom, hand rubbing up and down the kids back as it drifted to sleep on his shoulder, half-eaten cookie dropping from its hand onto the table Echo had strategically positioned himself next to. And then Rex spotted you, in the galley of the ship, another child draped over your arm in a dramatic pout, its conquest - a box of cookies - clutched tightly in its little hands as you clambered off the counter.
Rex shook himself to his senses and scrambled to protect you and the kid on your way down.
“Thanks, Rex,” you smiled up at him, patting his cheek, a happy grin like he’d never seen before on your face.
Your attention quickly turned to the child in your arms, as you put your other hand on your hip and gave it a playfully, scornful look. “You gonna eat the whole box yourself, little one?”
It paused for a moment, seemingly thinking through the situation for the first time.
Rex laughed, he remembered a similar lesson in his past. He knelt down to look at the kid when he spoke, “Always make sure you think things through before just running with it, kid. That way you know exactly what you want before you get there.” He chuckled.
You, Fives, and Echo all laughed hard at that.
“Oh, look who the mischievous uncle turned out to be!” You chided, laughter still ringing from your lips as you shifted the kid in your arms into a more comfortable position on your hip, facing outwards, but gripped in both arms.
The kid’s eyes lit up and he shoved a hand back into the cookie box and produced yet another cookie, but this time he held it out to Rex.
“Awwwww! That was very sweet of you, Moxy! There ya go, pay off Uncle Rex for his mischievous advice! Already learning how bribes work! You’re definitely related to Fives, that’s for sure!” You laughed.
Rex laughed too, taking the cookie with a small thanks as heat rushed to his face. He hadn’t meant to be that Uncle, but then again, after working with Skywalker, Kenobi, and Tano, and the entirety of the 501st for so many years, maybe their bad habits had worn off on him a bit.
Fives appeared at your elbow, one child under his arm, one still clinging to his leg, and one perched on his shoulders with its hands on his cheeks and hair, braced by his other hand at its back.
“See, they could totally pass for being our kids!” He grinned playfully, humming seductively as he pressed a long kiss to your cheek and then one to your neck.
“EWWWWW!” The kiddos chorused.
Echo and Rex laughed as you stole a kiss from Fives’ lips as he grinned, wildly.
“Well that’s good, because they are our kids, now!” You winked back at him.
“That’s my girl!” Fives cheered.
“How are you gonna care for…” Echo paused to doublecheck his headcount, “five cadets?”
“Children, Echo, they are not cadets anymore, they’re kids! And I’d say it’s a darn good thing we generally have at least 4 adults in here to handle it, don’t you think?” You returned, pointedly, but still smiling and laughing.
Echo just hugged the child in his arms tighter. Resting his cheek on its little head as he turned bashful. He knew Fives had chosen the right woman, she always remembered the things that were important to Fives, including Echo. And she wasn’t afraid to put her children in the arms of a man with 3 out of 4 metal limbs. Echo was grateful for her trust, for it made him trust himself more too.
The little one on Fives shoulder let out a big, long yawn, unaware that its hand had made its way to cover one of Fives’ eyes. But Fives had no intention of protesting, he was too delighted to find himself surrounded by kids of his own.
Rex chuckled, and reached up to lift the child off Fives’ shoulders.
As soon as it was in Rex’s arms, it immediately snuggled into his shoulder, trusting him instantly after seeing him interact with the other adults in the room so easily. Rex melted.
You and Fives exchanged a glance. Fives was glad he’d let you handle this part and that you’d let it just happen naturally. And you were right that the Fett line did seem to have a soft spot for children.
You and Fives exchanged a glance as he scooped up the child wrapped around his ankle, the two of you moved instinctively towards the comfy chair he’d dropped into with the kids earlier, collecting pillows and blankets from around the room on the way to it. Echo and Rex imitated you, recognizing the all too familiar nesting pile habits of their battalion.
Instinctively, all 3 men gathered to nestle around you, creating a circle for you and the little ones to snuggle into.
To your surprise, Fives found a way to nuzzle into your shoulder, despite the two small ones he had in his arms.
“They are darn cute, I’ll give ‘em that,” Echo muttered, watching the one that was still clinging to him.
“That’s Zed, we call him that because he’s always sleepy,” a tiny voice mumbled from Rex’s chest.
You all laughed again.
“And what’s your name, kid?” Rex asked, quietly.
But the only answer he received was a soft snore.
“Mmmm, now I’m hungry from all that playing around,” Fives lifted his head, and peered into the box Moxy was still clutching where he lay on your chest. “Anything left in there?”
You lifted your head to look in the box too, “Might actually be half a box still! I thought he’d eaten them all. Grab me one too, while you’re at it?”
Fives reached into the box and held up a cookie for you so you didn’t have to take your hands off the kids splayed on your chest and snuggled between you both.
You took a bite, and he shoved the rest of it into his own mouth.
“Thanks, Love.” You giggled and pecked his cheek, before returning your attention to Echo and Rex. “How are you gents doing? Content to snuggle there for a while? I’d rather not wake them if we don’t have to, or they’ll be running up the walls for another few hours just because they want to stay awake.”
Rex and Echo exchanged delighted glances and hummed their answers, nestling in for the night.
You turned back to Fives, “See? Easy!” You told him, kissing his forehead.
He laughed. “Which part? Telling Rex and Echo, or handling 5 kids?”
“Well, now that we have Rex and Echo here, both!” You told him, victoriously.
Fives stole another kiss from your lips.
A rustling noise and a shifting of the box in the small clone’s arms as Fives smiled against your lips told of his real plan: hiding a cookie theft with a kiss.
He broke away from your lips only to triumphantly stuff the entire cookie in his mouth.
You scoffed at him, playfully.
The box rustled again, and you raised a brow holding eyecontact with Fives.
He returned the look, puzzled, half a cookie still sticking out of his mouth as he tried desperately not to sprinkle cookie crumbs into the hair of the small brothers in his arms.
You both looked down to find Echo’s hand in the box.
He looked up at you sheepishly, eyes wide at getting caught, blinking owlishly at you. And then he broke into the same mischevious grin Fives had worn not five minutes before and retreated with a cookie of his own.
You were trying desperately not to laugh, else you’d jostle the numerous small heads and three adult ones currently leaning on or near you.
“Would you like a cookie too, Rex?” You offered, producing another one from the box.
“Well, I’m not gonna say no,” Rex teased.
“Good, as long as you boys all get the extra large quantities you need, we’ll be in good shape.” You giggled, handing over the tasty treat, and fetching another one for yourself too.
The three men exchanged sheepish looks.
“I know, you boys all eat more than the average person. And I’m glad of it. Food rarely goes bad around here. But we might need to find a steady supply of large quantities of food so we don’t have to go shopping every single day.” You could already imagine it, not only would you enjoy the view of each of the handsome men crouched in front of the conservator day in and day out just like you had since you joined them, but more than likely, they’d always share the space with a smaller version of themselves each time now too. The thought put a smile on your face as you stared deep into Fives’ eyes, more than happy with your joint, spur of the moment decision to keep a whole squad of cadets.
Echo hummed next to you, “I’ve got a few ideas already,” he yawned. “Never fear, Uncle Echo is here! Hmm, I like the sound of that. Uncle Echo. And Omega is gonna adore these little guys…” Echo leans over and kisses your cheek too.
Fives laughs at that.
“Hmm, then maybe I should try to be less mischievous, you lot already have that covered,” Rex also uses the opportunity to kiss your hand, and you bite your lip.
Fives steals another passionate kiss from you, grinning into it. “Maybe Omega can babysit when we need a night that’s just the two of us on occasion,” Fives nudges your cheek with his nose.
Echo laughs into your side. “I think Wrecker and Hunter would be delighted to help her wrangle the whole little squad. I’ll bring you to Pabu in the morning so they can meet them.”
“We haven’t even had the kids for 2 full days yet, Echo,” You chuckle.
“We have a big family, we can’t help it,” Fives answers. ”I want all the guys to meet them. We’ll do Pabu in the afternoon. Let them take around this base in the morning. It’ll be fun,” he mumbles, sleep starting to take hold of him too. ”Howzer promised to give me some tips he learned from the Twilek family he worked with for so long tomorrow. Pabu can be a dinner thing.”
“I’ll tell Hunter we’re bringing dinner tomorrow then,” Rex yawned.
Suddenly Echo held out a datapad, over the bundle of sleepy faces. “Smile you three, we need a holo of this.”
But you and Fives could only look at each other, with the biggest grins as you pressed your foreheads together in a keldable kiss, proud of your little family.
“Could you two get any cuter?” Echo nudged you playfully.
Zed, nestled between you and Echo, stirred in his sleep.
“Shhh, sleep time now, gents, we can finish planning in the morning,” you instructed, secretly admiring that you had just surrounded yourself with identical faces of men and boys you very much adored. You hummed contentedly.
“Just one more kiss,” Fives whispered mischievously, sneaking a peck at your lips before snuggling in for the night.
Omega gasped loudly, bouncing on the balls of her feet when she saw Echo, Rex, Fives, and Fives’ partner exiting the ship together, wrangling a whole miniature squad of their own at their knees and bundled in their arms, and boxes of what appeared to be take out in various bags and hands.
“Baby brothers!” Omega gushed, scooping up the nearest one.
Wrecker scooped her and the little one up into a big hug, and carried them over to the tree in the middle of the square, then picking up the small ones clinging to his belt to put them up on the grass beside her.
Echo decided to take a page from your book, and just straight up handed one of the kids to Hunter without saying anything.
Hunter took the kid and just watched it in awe for a moment.
“Are you a brother too?” The kid asked.
“Hmm?… yeah… yeah I am, kid,” Hunter beamed.
The kid smiled and tucked himself into Hunter’s chest.
Hunter visibly melted, closing his eyes and cradling the child gently in his arms.
When he opened his eyes again, he found himself staring at a smug Echo.
“Told you, you had a soft spot for kids.” Echo patted him on the back and walked away to join Wrecker and Omega as they taught the kids how to climb a tree.
“That’s Zed, he likes snuggles,” You told Hunter from somewhere behind him.
Hunter turned to face you, and found you standing there with Fives wrapped around you from behind.
“And… they’re your kids now?” Hunter asked, incredulous. Looking like he would never be ready to give Zed back to you.
“Yeah, we’ve been tracking down where the young clones were taken when Kamino was decommissioned. First rescue was a few night ago. Two ships full of little ones ready for homes of their own went to Pantora and Alderaan the day before yesterday.”
“We couldn’t help but keep this lot when their little voices asked us to be their parents,” Fives chimed in.
“They asked you to be their parents?” Hunter seemed almost jealous, if you were reading him correctly.
“Do you want us to bring a batch here?” You asked.
Hunter just looked at the little one in his arms, content to be held as it watched people move around the square.
“That’s a yes,” Fives answered for him.
Hunter gave Fives a look. “I see why Echo calls you the mischievous one,” he comments, a brow raised.
Rex laughs loudly, “Oh. No. Echo is just as mischievous.”
“Like that?” A snide voice joins the conversation as Crosshair approaches, making sure to keep some distance from the kid in Hunter’s arms, as he jabs a toothpick towards the tree before returning it to his lips.
You all look over to discover Echo in the tree with the young ones, while Wrecker and Omega protect them from below.
“Exactly like that,” Rex agrees, shaking his head at his trooper's antics.
“Anyways, would you like to babysit them sometime?” Fives asks Hunter and Crosshair with a sly grin.
“No.”
“Yes!”
Hunter and Crosshair answer at the same time, Crosshair glares at Hunter.
“Come on, Cross. You’ll warm up to them eventually.” Hunter prods, pointedly watching the kid in his arms instead of Crosshair.
“Omega was different,” Crosshair protests. “Like us.” He states as though he’s trying to convince himself not to get attached to the small face clinging to Hunter’s collar.
“Uh huh,” Hunter is not convinced, he knows his brother too well for that.
…Later you swear you spot one of the kids gifting Crosshair a flower he picked from the tree, and you’re pretty sure Crosshair wears it in his shirt pocket all evening.
But it’s hard to say for certain, especially when Fives sweeps you off your feet and carries you into your ship, heading straight for the bedroom…
Please don’t steal my work! I pour my heart into these so if you like it please reblog to share instead of reposting it! And NO dropping it into an AI to finish it for me! That’s stealing my work and feeding it to an AI without my consent. It is not okay to give an AI something you didn’t write yourself!

I just got an amazing au idea concerning Fives and Echo.
So, after the Rishi moon situation, Cody and Rex decide to fold the twins into a battalion instead of keeping them on guard duty, and Rex ultimately takes them into the 501st. But. What if Cody was the one to take them and they became a part if the 212th?
Cody would have ten times more migraines then he usually does, caused by none other than Fives who would get along with Wooley like a wildfire. Echo would be his only saving grace, and both if the twins would become marginally more capable under Obi-wan’s and Cody’s leadership then under Anakin and Rex, mostly because Obi-wan, unlike his padawan, had actual plans.
The events of the Citadel remain unchanged and Echo still gets taken by the Techno Union, but when Fives discovers the plot about the chips (lets act like Tup was with the 212th as well) he goes to Obi-wan and Cody. They, unlike Anakin, have always known that there was something wrong with the war, especially with the knowledge that there was a Sith in the senate. Fives also knew that the two of them were compassionate and would listen to him no matter that the Chancellor said, so when he asked to meet them he set no traps.
When the two do show up, they immediately realize that something’s wrong with Fives and take him to a ship while he talks and they listen. They listen and by the time they make it to Bones who gives Fives an antidote for whatever poison the Kaminiise injected him with, Obi-Wan is on call with the Council.
A few hours later and all of the GAR is on comm blackout so that no calls go in or out, and the Council is storming the senate dome, sabers blazing. They kill Palapatine, the Separatists send negotiation requests days after that and the war is over just like that. They find Echo after raiding the Techno Union, and the twins live happily ever after along with the rest of the vode who are granted citizenships.

Several months into the Imperial Era, during a routine job for either Cid or Rex (you can pick which it's not really important), Clone Force 99 end up on a busy Trade HUB city planet similar to either Coruscant or Daiyo.
The streets are bustling with movement and all kinds of legal (and ilegal) activity, and it's somewhat easy to get lost in the crowd and blend in. The group splits up to get affairs done, with Wrecker and Hunter going to talk with an informant, while Tech goes off to shop for parts for the Marauder, and Echo and Omega go shop for other more basic supplies.
Omega ends up wandering off accidentally and gets lost, which almost immediately catches the attention of some less than agreeable folks. She gets cornered in an alleyway and, just when everything seems like it's going to end badly, she gets rescued by two cloaked strangers.
The two ask her if she's ok and if she needs help getting back from wherever it is she came from, which she's apprehensive about at first until she catches a glimpse of their hooded faces. Two clones, both with hairline scars where their chips used to be.
Echo tracks Omega down and is initially alarmed seeing the two strangers talking to her, before Omega notices him and says that she's ok and that the two are friends. That they don't have their chips in anymore. Naturally, Echo demands they identify themselves, which one of them does almost immediately. The one that hesitated when Omega called out Echo's name.
Lo and behold the hoods come off... And it's Fives and Tup under there. Looking just as shocked and bewildered about Echo being alive, as Echo is shocked that **they** are standing before him looking as right as rain.
The reunion is a hesitant frail yet exhilarating thing. With Echo and Fives both not trusting this too good to be true situation, and actively questioning each other on things only the Domino Twins would know, before it fully hits them. This is real. They're both there. They're both alive. They made it.
They hold on to each other for dear life while very openly crying, foreheads pressed together and just letting all of the emotions, the survivor's guilt, the denial, the hope and sibling love flow. Tup and Omega watch on quietly. Let them work it out.
There's going to be a lot of explaining to be done. And Hunter resolves that they call Rex once they can set up a more secure connection because this is great news. The trip back is a bonding experience and a lot of catching up on what they've all gotten up to since the Order went out. They decide to talk about the more extensive details of Fives and Tup's survival once they can talk to Rex.
The mission having gone off without a hitch boosts everyone's mood. And while Tech sets up a call with Rex with Tup's help, the rest of the batch goes off on a small errand to make a quick credit while they wait.
This errand ends... Rather poorly.
They catch the attention of some upstart street gang that ends up trying to rob them, and during a struggle one of them throws an explosive charge at Echo. Fives reacts almost immediately and grabs the charge to toss it away from the twin he'd thought he'd lost to another explosion. It goes off in his grip... Revealing circuity and hydrolics beneath...
Everyone stops.
It's like time itself has frozen as they all stare at the mangled machinery that used to be Fives's arm. Echo is mortified, but not more so than Fives himself who's staring at the mess like it's completely foreign to him. He looks at the others, sees their horror, the fear, the sudden distrust in their eyes, and he backs away. He doesn't know what to say, he doesn't know what this is.
When he looks at Echo specifically, he sees the absolute betrayal in his eyes.
"You're... You're not..." Not Fives, but Echo doesn't finish that inquiry. He doesn't need to. The others are reaching for their holsters, Omega looks at a loss for what to do.
"̴I̷'̸m̸.̸.̷.̴ ̴I̸ ̸a̵m̶ ̵I̷.̴.̵.̷ ̴I̸ ̵h̸a̶v̸e̶ ̶t̸o̵ ̷b̷e̶!̵ ̴I̴ ̴a̴m̵ ̷F̷i̸v̴e̵s̵!̸"̶ The cybernetic imposter calls out, but he doesn't sound like Fives. The blast must have broken something internal, because his voice is a glitchy mess, and that just distresses him further. "̸I̶'̸m̶ ̸r̶e̷a̶l̶.̷.̵.̷ ̶I̶.̶.̷.̵"̶
The machine steps back, clutching the ruined arm with tears in his frightened eyes.
"̸I̵ ̶h̸a̸v̵e̸ ̴t̸o̶ ̵b̴e̸.̵.̵.̷"̷
And then he runs away. Leaving them completely behind.
Echo is a mess. He really thought he had his brother back, but it was some kind of twisted joke. A sick trick of some kind. It's like losing Fives all over again, but there's no time to dwell on it. Tech is alone with Tup who is very likely also an imposter as well. They need to hurry back.
When they return to the Marauder they find Tup strapped to a table and connected to several machines. He looks absolutely distressed, much like Fives had, while Tech is both disturbed and highly fascinated by this entire situation.
While the others were off on their own, Tech had offered to give Tup a medical check-up (since they hadn't had the time to do it before, and it's better to be safe with one's health than to be sorry), only for both of them to get some rather odd readings when Tech did a preliminary scan.
Readings that indicated Tup was not a human, but rather a machine of some kind, which alarmed Tech and put him on the defensive. Tup immediately swears that this can't be possible, that he remembers training as a cadet on Kamino, remembers graduating and joining the 501st, remembers the shitshow that was Umbara, and so on and so forth... That there's no way he's a fake!
Hearing all this, Tech ponders for a while before agreeing to believe him (or at least believing that Tup really didn't know because the other is absolutely terrified). And, so long as they could run a few tests, he'll trust that Tup isn't up to anything insidious.
The tests reveal something very alarming indeed: That Tup is a very soffisticated kind of android designed to perfectly mimic people, and that who's AI was created using a brain scan.
It's also revealed that, upon trying to look back on his very last memory before he and Fives ended up on the run, Tup cannot remember what happened on Ringo Vida. Has no memory of what lead up to the real Tup's death. The scan must have been done right before Tup died, so he'd have nothing to go on other than Fives's word...
Realizing that this is a lot more complex than they immediately assumed (and seeing how freaked out Tup is at discovering he's "not real"), Echo runs off to go find Fives while everyone else is busy with the implications of perfect android imposters.
He's still shaken up about all this. But, seeing how genuinely afraid Tup is, he can't live with the idea of having any version of Fives (not even an AI copy) dealing with this on his own.
Echo knows what it's like to wake up altered in a now barely recognizable galaxy, after all...
He manages to track the damaged (wounded?) android to a very dingy looking public bathroom. Fives is curled up under a sink and, when Echo kneels down in front of him to see if he's ok, he's horrified to find that Fives has ripped off the left side of his face to expose the machinery beneath. He looks heartbroken and so terribly afraid.
"̴I̴'̸m̸ ̷r̴e̷a̷l̵.̷.̵.̷ ̸I̷.̵.̸.̴ ̴I̸'̴m̸ ̴r̵e̸a̵l̷ ̸I̷ ̶p̷r̷o̴m̶i̶s̶e̸.̷.̷.̷"̴ The left side of his face is a horrifying abomination made up of various servos and circuits, the right side a hauntingly lifelike mockery of life.
"̴E̷y̵'̴i̵k̷a̵ ̴I̷ ̶p̷r̵o̷m̴i̸s̵e̸ ̸i̷t̴'̸s̵ ̶m̷e̶.̷.̷.̴ ̷I̶.̸.̸.̷ ̵I̸'̸m̴ ̴F̴i̵v̴e̸s̸!̴ ̷I̵.̴.̶.̷ ̸I̸.̵.̴.̴ ̸I̷'̴m̵ ̸s̴c̵a̸r̷e̵d̸.̷.̶.̴"̵
And Echo believes him.
Because, even if this is a copy, a cheap knockoff, those are still his brother's memories in there. And he's terrified and hurting. He's only ever heard Fives so terribly afraid once, and it still haunts his nightmares to this day.
Echo scoops up his twin into his arms and just holds him while Fives cries his heart out. They'll figure this out. Somehow.

Pairing || Fives x GN!Reader Word count || 987 Warnings || Brief mentions of PTSD, Fluff, So much fluff. Overview || Self indulgent Fives takes his family to the beach feels, in honour of father's day! 'Fives' prompt for @clonexreaderbingo
Crashing waves and salty air backdrop your perfect day, the shriek of your little one pulling your attention from your trashy romance novel.
Fives has your toddler by the hand, standing at the water's edge with not a care in the world. He looks so good like this, his tanned skin glowing in the light as he lifts the toddler over another wave. The small girl yells in delight as the water tickles her toes, her interaction with the water managed with care by her doting father.
Fives doesn't want her to fear water like he does, the endless blue stirring memories of Kamino. He remembers being tossed out to sea, his survival skills tested in a brutal five day training session. He also remembers time spent below the waves, his flash training ill preparing him for deep sea diving. None of it had been enjoyable, the company of his own heartbeat prevailing over every memory, and none of it could hold a candle to the beach he stood upon. Cold unfeeling water had been swapped for warm waves, and complaining brothers had been swapped for a happy family. His little Sarad was smiling at him like he'd hung the stars, all chubby checks and sparkling eyes. And you? He's pretty sure you've never looked prettier. you're laid on a towel with a drink in one hand, and a book in the other - your eyes soft as they catch his. He stops to appreciate the sight for a moment, just long enough for a ware to crest over Sarad's waist. She squeals in surprise and holds tight to him, her little arms barely covering his chest.
"Woah, you alright there lil one?"
She nods, her curls tickling his jaw with each move.
"You sure? We can say hello to your Buir for a bit if you want. Maybe build a sandcastle?”
She nods again and Fives takes this as a sign she’s done with the water, at least for now. He drops her to her feet once the water laps at his ankles, watching with a smile as she totters up the beach with giggles. He’s not at all surprised to see you’ve pulled out a holorecorder, your form dropped to one knee to get Sarad’s best angle; and he can’t help but tease you as you lift the cam to include him in the shot.
“Why cyare, I’d never thought you’d ask! Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!”
He watches you roll your eyes, your expression giving away the flush of heat that rises to your cheeks.
“We’re already married, di’kut” “And what if I wanted to marry you again?” He’d marry you a billion times if he could, on as many planets as you wanted. All he wanted was for you to feel loved and appreciated, to know that you’d been and always would be the center of his galaxy.
“I don’t think it’s entirely necessary ...” “Oh, but it is!” He beams as he cuts you off, happy to watch the effect his words have on you. The subtle shift of weight from side to side, the shift of your brows and lips; it all tells him he’d made you feel warm and happy. “But what about the cost?” “What about it?” “We can’t afford it, not on that ‘pension’ they gave you” Fives scoffs. The republic had decided some years back that his service deserved a soldier’s pension. It was, in his opinion, nothing more than a publicity stunt. The sum was barely enough to repay his vode for years of pain and loss, but it was also better than nothing - which was what they were due to get before Senator Chuchi stepped in. “My brothers will help.” “Fives, I don’t want them paying for something we don’t need.” He drops beside you with a chuckle, gathering Sarad into his arms and settling her atop his crossed legs. The blanket more than protected her from the warm sand, but he was feeling indulgent and protective today; her happy giggles encouraged his internal desire to dote on her. “I didn’t mean it like that. Kix got himself ordained. All we have to do is give him a time and date.” Your eyes widen in shock, then laughter; the expression warming your face as you retrieve a bottle of sun lotion from your bag. “Did he know? Why does that not surprise me.” Fives laughs alongside you, passing a small toy to Sarad to keep her occupied while you cover her skin in a protective layer of lotion. “He said, and I quote. ‘I’m not letting any of you di’kute ruin your cyare’s special day’. Anyone would think we can’t do serious” Your soft laughter turns to guffaws, the sound violent enough to make you snort. He’s not sure why you find it so embarrassing. He loves it when he can elicit this kind of laughter, your form near hunched over as you nurse aching ribs. “I can’t see why he’d think such a thing, I really can’t.” You spend the next few moments in laughter, settling Sarad between you to play with her toys. She’s still too young to understand the concept of making a sandcastle. For her the fun is in the filling of the bucket, and the demolishing of the castle. She doesn’t even wait for her father to say ‘ta-da!’. She’s already pushed her hands into the damp sand with a giggle, pushing the sand about to further explore its texture. “So, you in? Or ...” You lift your head with a shy smile, your eyes full of warm love as you sit on your haunches. “Only on one condition.” “Oh? And what might that be?” “That Echo and Sarad have to be our flower girls” He can't help but mirror your playful smile, his chest blooming with laughter as he reaches over to shake your hand. “You’ve got yourself a deal, cyar'ika.”

I took 30 minutes before I went to bed to create this brainrot piece inspired by @metalhusbands Fives and Omega AU
Also I will be drawing more of baby Megs due to the sheer amount of serotonin that came from making this.

Word Count: 2k
Ao3 link
A/N: This goes along with my work Set to Stun, so if you haven't read that, I highly recommend you do!! This is all based on a late-night headcanon discussion, my being sick, and very little editing, so I hope it's not too rough. I also apologize for any medical inaccuracies. But hey, Star Wars medicine! Special thank you to @rexxdjarin for talking me through the organ transplant HC, and to @writingbylee for letting me use her bacta HCs!! You're both awesome!!
Same Heart, Same Blood
He was floating, oddly disconnected from his body but still trapped within its confines. His hearing was irritatingly muffled, and he could not tell up from down or left from right anymore. He was simply there.
Through the cottony filter, he could hear what sounded like Rex, but he could not tell what he was saying. The brash voice of General Skywalker was there, too, but it was quickly fading, replaced by another brother’s voice.
“Six… minu… nee… mo… him… ow…” said the distorted voice. “ves… kno…in…ther… Fi… ang… on.”
He barely felt a pinch in his neck before an ethereal coolness enveloped him, taking him deeper into the welcoming darkness. He let himself drift, unable to do anything to stop it, and was content that he had done all he could.
***
Fives opened his eyes but saw nothing. The inky blackness was all-consuming, but it did not cause him any alarm. There was no need for panic. The deep dark space was calm, tranquil, and welcoming in an odd way. He was no longer in any pain, and there was no danger, no war, and nothing left to fight for. Peace at last.
Was this where death had brought him?
Before he was done registering the question, he saw a wisp of the most beautiful blue glide in a ribbony trail past his vision. Another quickly followed on his other side, splitting through the dark like hyperspace trails. More and more streaked across his line of sight from all around him, and he tracked their movement until he realized they were leading him away from wherever he was.
Fives took an automatic step, not realizing he had been standing on anything at all, and joined the swirling colors in their dance to wherever they were headed. He could not tell how long he walked, for there seemed to be no concept of time at all, but the wisps soon blended and faded into a warm, misty glow. He had no name for the color of the space, but he could see movement in the distance beyond—a figure drawing closer.
“Hello?” he asked. His voice sounded like his own, but it was also more like an echo in his head.
The figure took shape and became more solid the closer it got, and Fives wondered why his heart was not beating through his chest. He knew them—the tattoo on his jaw was unmistakable.
“Hello, Vod.”
“Hevy!” Fives breathed, reaching out for his long-dead brother.
Hevy’s semi-corporeal form reached back, locking a hand around Fives’ neck and bringing their foreheads together. “You did good, Vod, but it’s not your time yet.”
“What?” Fives asked, feeling like he should have been shedding enough tears to fill Kamino’s oceans. The wisps around them started moving faster, becoming brighter, until they were whiter than Fives’ could bear to look at directly. “You’re dead. So, am… am I?”
Hevy released him and gave him a gentle, familiar smile. “There are many things you still need to do.”
“Hevy, I-I don’t u-understand,” Fives stuttered, but the hand on the back of his neck gripped him more firmly.
“You will. Just listen for the echo.” Hevy removed his hand and suddenly began to fade into the bright wisps around them.
“Echo?” It was only then that Fives felt a surge of panic. Echo was dead. But why had Hevy come to him instead? “Hevy, wait! Where’s Echo?!”
Fives felt a hard tug behind his navel, pulling him into the bright light. “Where’s Echo?!” he kept calling. “Hevy!”
***
Beep… beep… beep…
Beep… beep… beep…
Beep… beep… beep…
It was a sharp, repetitive sound ringing in his ears every few moments. It was downright annoying. It was too bright now, pain shooting through his head.
Pain.
Once part of him had registered it, he became aware of it all at once. Every muscle, every limb, every inch of him down to his toes ached. He felt like he had been hit head-on by the Resolute jumping to lightspeed. His throat was dry, his lips hurt, his bones ached, and his lungs felt raw. He squeezed his eyes shut harder against the bright light, and even that hurt.
“…aking up,” said an urgent voice somewhere in the distance. “Contac… Rex…”
Fives groaned, realizing there was some kind of obstruction in his throat. He coughed against it, and it was quickly, albeit painfully, removed. As he slowly came around, blinking his crusty eyes furiously, he realized it was Kix hovering over him.
“Welcome back, brother,” Kix nearly laughed, smiling down at him. “Hang on, this will make you feel better.” He picked up a line and injected a generous amount of myobacta into it. “Thought we lost you there for a while, Vod.”
Fives tried to form the words he wanted to say, but he ended up in a hoarse coughing fit instead. Even as the bacta spread through his body, everything still ached.
“Easy, easy,” Kix soothed, elevating him into a reclined sitting position and adjusting the overhead light so it was not directly in Fives’ eyes. “You’ve been out for a few weeks, and you’ve got a new heart. It’s gonna take some time for you to fully recover. Just try to relax for me. I promise you’ll be all right.”
A new heart? Fives wondered. He lifted a weak hand to move the medical gown aside and looked down at his chest. There was a long, new scar over his sternum and a blotchy burn scar that was still sealed under a bacta patch on his left pec. No wonder everything hurts.
His thoughts were still disconnected and sluggish, but somewhere in the back of his mind, he had known since he was a shiny that the bodies of fallen brothers were often recovered after battles, and their organs were harvested and put into stasis in case another clone needed a replacement organ. It had always made him feel like the Kaminoans had done that purposefully, just to reinforce how expendable they were. He had tried to own it all the same, recalling telling the cadets on Kamino they all had the “same heart, same blood.” It was one of his more poetically symbolic moments, and he remembered Echo saying it would make a good tattoo.
Even though the dark truth was hard to admit, and it made him angry that such a thing as harvesting organs from fallen clones would be necessary, he also knew it had probably saved hundreds, maybe thousands, of other clones’ lives over the years—now including his own.
“Hey, you listening to me?” Kix asked.
Fives nodded weakly, thankful that Kix had moved the unforgivingly bright light. He had to wonder what had happened to him, though, to warrant receiving another brother’s heart. Kix’s bedside manner was also never this good unless someone had really been through hell, but he did not have long to dwell on the thought before the door burst open.
Rex came surging through the door as if he had sprinted the length of the Military Complex parade deck at full speed without stopping. He looked a little worse for wear, sporting an expression that was somewhere between elation and relief, and a new pale scar on the side of his head.
“Fives!” he all but laughed. “You’re awake!”
Fives nodded again. Why did everyone keep saying that? He had never fallen asleep that he could remember. He was with Hevy, and before that…
It all came flooding back in a rush. He remembered the plot, warning Rex and the general, picking up his pistol and screaming in a panic, aiming it at the red-clad Corries sent to take him away. He had been shot. Commander Fox had shot him directly in the heart. He remembered the searing, burning pain as his heart had ceased to exist in his chest, reduced to carbon and ash from the plasma.
“Fives? Hey, talk to me,” Rex said, placing a gloved hand on his shoulder.
“He needs to rest up a bit. Here, drink a little of this if you can,” Kix said, bringing a straw to Fives’ chapped lips. When Fives did as he was told and made a scrunchy, disgusted face at the bitter taste, Kix chuckled. “Yeah, that’s the reaction I expected. He’ll be fine, Captain.”
***
Hours later, Rex had still not left Fives’ side, explaining at length what had happened. They had figured it out after all.
“You made me and Kix dig further into your warning, and we found out the truth about the chips in our heads,” Rex explained, pointing to the healing scar just past his right temple. “We uncovered a whole plot by the chancellor to destroy the Jedi Order, and we would’ve been his tools if you hadn’t tipped us off. The Jedi managed to remove him from power, and he was promptly executed.”
Fives had slowly regained his voice, but he still sounded like he had been screaming over blaster fire on the battlefield for too long. “Still can’t believe I got shot,” he snickered hoarsely. “Can’t say I blame Fox for doing his job, though.”
Rex’s lips pressed into a tight line and twitched at the corners into a tense smile. “It wasn’t his fault, Fives. He doesn't remember doing it.”
“What do you mean?”
“That was Palpatine, too. He’d been manipulating Fox’s chip like a test dummy for years. It caused him to have memory blackouts. Cody found records of it in a journal Palpatine kept while they were sorting through the intel after he was executed,” Rex explained.
Fives grimaced. Even fresh out of a coma, his blood boiled because of all the injustices and inhumanities every clone had endured, all for Palpatine's war. They were human, and they deserved to be treated like humans from the beginning, given rights and choices—not manipulated like programmed droids. “That’s fucked up.”
The captain nodded, resting his elbows on his knees and his chin on his clasped hands. “Actually, Fox said he wants to come visit you—as long as it’s all right with you. Says he wants to apologize and hopes you can forgive him. He’s been pretty beaten up over it.”
“Nothing to forgive. He can come anytime and I’ll tell him myself,” Fives said with a genuine smile. He could not help the wave of grief that swept over him, though. None of this should have happened to any of them. “I just wanted to do my duty, what was right.” Fives’ said sorrowfully. His already hoarse voice cracked. “For Tup, too. He didn’t deserve to die the way he did.”
Rex nodded solemnly in agreement. “But you saved us all, and Tup’s sacrifice wasn’t in vain. With Palpatine dead, peace talks have started all over the galaxy with fracturing Seppie worlds. The CIS is falling apart, but there are a few holdouts that keep fighting. I’m headed to Anaxes with Cody tomorrow. They are proving difficult to counter. It’s like they know our moves before we make them.”
Fives gave a cheeky smile, one that still showed all of the inner fire he still possessed. “I wish I could be there with you, sir.”
Rex squeezed Fives’ atrophied bicep reassuringly. “Don’t worry, there will be plenty of fights left for you once you’re better. Kix might actually skin me alive if I try to sneak you out.” He stood and gathered his bucket, chuckling with his vod before making for the door.
Tell him. Fives thought. He should know. “Rex?” he asked, causing the captain to pause. “I… I know this sounds crazy, but while I was out, I saw Hevy.”
“Your batchmate? The one who died on Rishi Station?”
“Yeah, him. He told me that it wasn’t my time yet, and… he told me to listen for the echo. That’s when I realized… wherever I was, wherever Hevy came from, Echo wasn’t there.”
Rex looked skeptical, furrowing his brow and eyeing Fives curiously. He had his suspicions about an afterlife, but after spending enough time around the Jedi, he had long decided nothing was too farfetched. “You think Echo may still be alive?”
“I don’t expect you to believe me. I’m not sure I entirely believe it myself,” Fives sighed, shaking his head. “But I just have a gut feeling, you know? Just do me a favor and… listen for him, I guess.”
The captain offered him a confident smirk and a nod. “I’ll keep my ears open.”

So I started writing a new echo centric fic, and I talked about the concept before (x), and now I’ve been debating
Because I’ve been wanting to have a fic where fives lives for a while now, but I never knew how to go about it. I was thinking for this fic it could be that Rex contacts him (because after order 66 Fives would have reached out to Rex to help with the rebellion) and tells him about Echo. Then he would have been really worried and would want to go and save him (in this case get the chip out because he doesn’t know that Echo wasn’t affected by the chip)
But I also feel like that would take too much away from the Batch and sort of demonize them in this fic since their chips would still work… but I could also give them a redemption where Fives is really suspicious of them too
But ofc the main focus wouldn’t really be on Fives, he’d just be there and help Echo escape and maybe then help Echo save the Batch depending on how I want the fic to go
Either way, I would find a way to make it work. This poll is just to see what most people would want and isn’t the final decision anyway
