Not wanting to deal with probing questions and the embarrassment of being single, your friend Haibara recommends using an Escort! Taking a leap of faith, you book one, the hottest one. Gojo Satoru is hot, sweet, and funny! The package deal! Men and Women pay thousands to go on a date with him (even more, which he doesn't do often). So when your request comes in, the desperation and pleading tone of your voice. Gojoâs heartthrobs, even more so when you tell him you don't want to have sex.
Pairing: Escort!Gojo x FAB Reader
Word Count: 3,682
Warning: Mentions of depression, anxiety, language
A/N: And so part one is complete!! Please let me know what you think! I plan on posting a new part every Saturday! In the mean time I will work on my brain worm fics/requests!!
Part Two Part Three Part Four Part Five Part Six Part Seven Part Eight
Gold calligraphy mocked you as you stared at the wedding invitation on your table. Any normal person would have been elated over their best friend getting married. The dresses, cake, looking at venues! It should have been a happy, wonderful time.
And it would have been amazing if your best friend had met her fiance through anyone other than Toji Zenin. Your ex-fiance, the man who broke your heart, who was also the groomsman at the wedding! The same wedding you were a bridesmaid in.
Life fucking hated you.
Your break up was a year and a half ago. It was tucking painful, watching the life and future you had imagined slip away. You were inconsolable for the first few months, but any other person would feel the same if their fiance broke up with them the way Toji had done to you. Part of you liked to think you were getting better; you knew you weren't healed completely.
The closer the wedding came, the more nervous and sick you got. In a month, you would have to face Toji for the first time in over a year. He was doing much better off than you. He got married! He was now Toji Fushiguro and he and his wife had a son!
Fate was a cruel bitch. He was living his dreams: a house, a pretty wife, a sweet, beautiful son. Toji got everything he wanted while you sunk into the darkness of despair. Toji had ruined you, marked you in ways you weren't sure you'd ever heal from. You never wanted to be hurt like that again. That's why you were single.
Single and traumatized. Perfect intro on your dating profile. So yeah, dating wasn't your thing right now.
Which puts you in a messy fucking predicament. You would be at a wedding with your Ex, who was living the life you had always wanted. Why was he given happily ever after while you were left to pick up the pieces of your broken heart? You could already see the pitiful expressions that your loved ones would be wearing, and that made your skin crawl with anxiety.
You could not show up to the wedding alone.
Which is why you were sitting in your kitchen, drowning in anxiety. You stared at your laptop, bouncing your leg nervously as you scrolled on Escorts4y0u.com. Damn, Yu Haibara, for suggesting this to you. You were shopping for a fuckinâ escort!?
You shot his insane suggestion down as soon as he said it. You had begun ranting about how even more embarrassing it would be if your family found out. First, your fiance leaves you a month before your wedding. Then you go and pay for someone to pretend to be your boyfriend all because you couldnât bear yourself to start dating again?
Amid your nervous rant, Haibara just put his hand on yours. He assured you that no one would know that they were an escort. If they were good at their job, all your family would see was a happy couple. They would be someone to go to the wedding with, and once you paid them, you would never see them again! No one would be the wiser.
âIt's their job to make you feel good and help you have a good time. And you deserve to be happy.â Haibara had said with pity in his eyes. Just thinking about his face, that expression, made you cringe to think of the faces of everyone at the wedding.
âFuck it.â You cursed, clicking on the escort you liked the most.
Gojo Satoru, twenty-eight years old. His profile listed that he was well-educated and came from a prestigious clan. He was charismatic, confident, and kind. You read dozens of reviews. His previous clients gushed over him. All five stars, every single person heâd helped was grateful for him. Plus, Gojo was very attractive. He had pure white hair, was over six feet tall, and had the most stunning blue eyes you'd ever seen. He was the ideal partner anyone would want to take home to meet the family.
Which would explain why he was the most expensive escort on the website.
â„120,000 for a day!?â You screeched as you bounced your leg faster, doing the mental math in your head. âThatâs „900,000.00 for a week.â The mere amount of money you were about to spend almost had you slamming your laptop shut. But Haibaraâs face crossed your mind; Tojiâs face began to form before you shook your head.
Hiring Gojo was your only option. You had to do this to avoid getting hurt again. Plus, you had to use the deposit from your honeymoon eventually. It would be like burying the past!
âOkay, okay, you got this; just book it Y/N!â Getting up, you jumped up and down to hype yourself up before you hit the green phone icon and dialed the number. The phone rang once and twice.
âThis is Gojo!â A gruff but cheery voice answered.
Youâre sure your soul left your body as you squealed in shock. He answered!? The man you were going not only to pay but also beg to pretend to be your boyfriend?!
âHello?â A faint hint of humor and curiosity laced the voice in your ear.
You groaned, rubbing your hand down your face with a whine. âS-Sorry, I was expecting a receptionist for something.â You put the phone on speaker before hitting your head against your table.
âOh! My bad, sorry!â His chuckle was a deep noise through the receiver. âWe put our business numbers on the site. Itâs just easier for us to schedule our clients like this.â He hummed. âI assume youâre on the escort website?â
âYes, IâI was wondering if you might be free next month for a wedding? Itâs my best friend.â
âGive me a sec.â Shuffling papers filled your anxiety. âA month from today?â
âYes.â
Gojo hummed happily, âI am free that whole week! So will it be the wedding and reception?â A pen could be heard writing down notes.
âSo itâs uhm, itâs a destination wedding. Itâs in Kyoto, and I need you for the whole week. If thatâs not an issue or problem.â
âOkay, that shouldnât be an issue. Itâs far enough out that I can block my schedule.â He whistled happily, jotting down more notes. âSo the whole week, wedding, receptionââ
For some odd reason, it sounded like he was hesitating or weighing his options, questioning if he wanted to even take you on as a client. The growing fear of rejection spreads like wildfire through your stomach. You never used to feel like this; you were so happy and confident before. But after everything Toji did, what he said to you after you hadâwell, it left some really deep scars that still hadnât healed. When your mind picked at those still healing wounds, making them bleed, you acted before thinking.
âI have the money!â Gripping the table's edge, you stared at Gojoâs headshot on the website. âPlease, I need this!â
âHey, hey! Iâm not worried about the money, sweetheart.â His voice was thick like honey; the pet name sounded so sweet. âIâm just making sure I got everything down.â On the other line, Gojo looked down at his calendar. There was something in your voice, desperation, that was genuine.
Heâd had tons of clients, and many of them needed help. But in his two years of working in this field, he had never heard such a raw plea for help. Gojoâs interest peaked. Just who were you? What made you so anxious and desperate for his help?
âLet me confirm the details so I can put you in my books, Ms.?â He waited for your name, hearing you sigh in relief as you calmed yourself down
âY/N, my name is Y/N Y/L/N.â
âY/N,â Gojo repeated, âOkay, I have you down for next month, the whole week, for a destination wedding in Kyoto.â
You were sighing happily as you relaxed into your chair. âThank you. Itâs 900,000.00. For the whole week?â Gojo cocked an eyebrow, grinning at your straightforward attitude.
âDepends, will food and hotel be included?â
âYes, weâll be staying at my parents' inn; they offered to host my friend's wedding. So food, money, and accommodations will be included. Plus, Iâll take care of your travel expenses.â
Gojo turned in his desk chair, biting his lip as he listened to your stern voice. âOkay, so itâs going to be „600,000. A lot of the cost goes to food and hotels. Since youâre taking care of it, you get a lovely discount, sweetheart.â A scoff sounded from his phone, making him smile even wider.
âGreat, lucky me.â
Gojo bit his lip, chuckling. âDid you want any other additions?â
âIf youâre asking if I want to include your other services, no. I donât need sex.â
âDonât need sex?â He perked up as Suguru, his roommate, peeked in, cocking an eyebrow at him. âSeriously?â
You gave the phone a confused look as if you were looking at Gojo yourself. âYes, Iâm dead serious.â The line went utterly silent before rich, stunned laughter filled your kitchen.
âWell shit, thatâs a first!â
âGlad I could keep you on your toes, Gojo.â
âNope.â
You blinked. âNo, what?â Gojo snickered as you picked up your phone heading into your room.
âIâm going to be your boyfriend. You have a month, one month, to get used to saying my first name.â The seriousness of his tone made you stop in your tracks. âSo itâs Satoru to you, Y/N.â
With a blush dusting your cheeks, you giggled, shaking your head. âAlright, that makes sense. Thank you, Satoru.â
âYouâre welcome, Y/N. Iâll see you in a month.â
In one month, you were „600,000 poorer, and your nerves were shot as you searched for your fake boyfriend at the train station coffee shop. In the last month, you had spoken to GojâSatoru twice over the. Once to book his services and yesterday to discuss where you were meeting. His company took care of everything else.
It was still surreal that you hired an escort to be your date, and you were waiting for a stranger at a coffee shop. This wasn't like you; it was so unbelievable. You sipped your coffee, looking around anxiously.
It was like a Greek God walked in. He was tall, like his profile said, over six-three. Dark sunglasses covered his eyes as his white fluffy hair bounced with every step. Straightening, you hesitated before lifting your hand and waving at your fake boyfriend. Seeing your arm raised, Gojo grinned, bounding forward as he pulled his sunglasses off.
âHi! Are you Y/N?â You stood, swallowing as he still towered over you. God, he was dressed nice, all designer brand clothes. Which wasn't surprising with the amount of money you dropped to spend a week with him.
âYes, I'm Y/L/N Y/N.â You handed him a cup of coffee that he took before sitting at the table. âThank you again for doing this.â
Gojo grabbed six sugar packets, ripped them open, and poured all of them into his coffee. âOh, you're welcome! I love seeing people happy.â Your eyes followed his hands as he poured cream into the coffee. âSo, what's our story? That way, we're on the same page.â You couldn't help but smile as he sipped the sugary coffee with a grin.
âYou have a sweet tooth?â Gojo hummed, taking another drink. âMaybe I'll make you something at the inn; I'm a pastry chef.â Gojoâs eyes went wide as you ran your fingers over the lid of your cup. âThatâs a good story, we met at the bakery I worââ
âYou're a pastry chef?!â Gojoâs eyes sparkled. âSeriously?! What shop?!â
âUhm, I work at Ichigo Cafe? It's in downtown Tokyo.â
âI love that place! The mochi there is the best!â His words had your cheeks burning your cheeks. âThe cakes, the ice cream! Hell, the coffee is good too.â
You twirl your thumbs together. âThank you, as the head chef, that makes me happy.â Satoru sat back, smiling sweetly. âSo I uhm, yeah, that's a good story.â
âYeah, it does. How long have we been together?â
The two of you settled on five months. That way, it was still pretty new. The whole time, Satoru nodded and added to your cover story. Thank god he was easy to talk to, putting your nerves at ear by the time your coffee was finished. Together, you were optimistic that you and Satoru could get through this week without a hiccup.
You both settled in on the train, getting to know each other more like favorite colors, foods, likes, and dislikes. Satoru didn't drink, had a major sweet tooth, and did his escorting gig full-time. He lived with his roommate and best friend, Geto Suguru, and he had a lot of free time.
You told him everything about yourself: likes, dislikes, favorite color, hell, even your blood type. But as the conversation began to dwindle, Satoru tilted his head. Sure, all that stuff was good now for the coming week, but he wanted to know more. Like why you hired him and why you âdonât do sex.â That question had plagued his mind for the last month.
âCan I ask why you hired me?â His question had your head snapping up. âI mean, don't take this the wrong way, but you've been tense since we got on the train. There's more to this than just wanting a date to a wedding.â
âUhh, is that obvious? I'm sorry. It's just my ex-fiance is at the wedding party with me.â Satoru paid close attention to how your eyes darkened as you looked out the window. âOur breakup was a shock since it happened a month before our wedding. So, I have all these trust issues, and I don't want to date anyone. Because it's easier not to get hurt if you don't put yourself out there.â
âWhy did he break up with you?â
âWhy didn't he?â The tone of your voice and words had Satoru peeking up. Not in curiosity but surprisingly in anger. Satoru had seen a lot of women and men in his days as an escort. Many are desperate, lonely, and want to have a good time. But whoever had broken your heart had hurt. You in more ways than one. âThere were a lot of things that he uhmâlisted off.â
You quickly changed the subject, much too fast for Satoruâs liking. But he wasnât the type to pry, especially when it came to the feelings and comfort of his clients. So he let you change the subject. And the rest of the train ride to Kyoto, even up to your family's inn, the subject stayed clear of your ex. It was bad enough youâd be seeing him soon; you would much rather not talk about him before you saw his face.
You stood in front of the door to your family's inn. Satoru grabbed your hand, his fingers interlacing with yours as you took a deep breath. âHey, we got this.â God, you hoped Satoru was right; this had to go perfectly.
Giving his hand a gentle squeeze, you stepped inside. The laughter and distant conversations echoed off the halls as wedding guests conversed and chatted while wandering around. You spotted your mother carrying a tray. She took one glance at you before looking away.
âOh, Y/N darling, good youâre here. Whenever you get a chance, could you help me make some treats for afternoon tea? Everyone is instant with trying those matcha cookies you made last year.â After years of helping out, in the end, your body began to move on muscle memory, but Satoru stopped you, pulling you into his side with a grin.
âHey, donât just up and leave me. At least introduce me to your family first, sweetheart.â The bustling, noisy chatter around you stopped as your family and friends just seemed to notice the giant man standing beside you. His arm wrapped around your waist as he leaned down to kiss your temple. âMy poor sweet girl is already in work mode. I thought this was supposed to be a vacation.â
âRight, of course, Iâm sorry, Satoru. Everyone, this is my boyfriend, Gojo Satoru.â
âEh!?â
Those sad, pitful reactions you had been so familiar with over the last year and a half were nowhere to be found on the faces of your loved ones. They were faces of shock, curiosity, and joy. A much better reaction, one that had you letting out a shaky breath you had no idea you were holding in. As you basked in relief, dark eyes watched the two of you, reading you.
The afternoon went off without a hitch. Satoru fit in with any conversation thrown his way. From what he did for a living to how the two of you met, he never stuttered or looked to you for help. He was exactly what you needed. With Gojo by your side, you knew you could get through this wedding without losing yourself in the darkness again.
You owed Haibara big time for this.
After the two of you answered several rounds of twenty questions and an early dinner, you and Satoru stepped into your room. You shut the door, sliding back against it as you shut your eyes. âOh my gosh, that went much better than anticipated.â Satoru chuckled, setting both of your luggage off in the corner of the room.
âYou did great.â His praise had you smiling more. âSeriously, this will be a walk in the park!â
You wanted to agree with him, but your mouth remained shut. That was just your family you met with. Things might be a different story when you face Toji. Because despite you not wanting him to, you knew he could read you like a book. He always could tell when you werenât feeling the best or something was wrong. But maybe, if you keep playing your card right, you might be able to fool him, too.
âYeah, a walk in the park.â You looked around the room, relieved to find the futon already laid out for you both. But it was missing the extra pillows you had asked for. The pillows that were going to be used to separate you and Satoru. âHuh, I thought my dad said the pillows would be here when we got to the room. Iâll be right back; the shower is just to the right if you want to wash up first.â
âAwesome, thanks a lot.â
As you reached for the door, the handle turned, startling you. Satoru moved so fast, his arms wrapping around you as the door opened wide. âHave you ever heard of knocking before? My girlfriend and I could have been doing something. If you saw that, I would have had to charge you for the show.â Satoru started as the door opened wide, revealing the person standing in front of it, four pillows in his arms.
âYou seriously think I believe that?â
Your body went rigid as you stared into the dark eyes of the man who broke your heart. âT-Toji? What are you doing here?â You learned further back into Satoruâs chest, trying to put distance between the man that had stained your life.
âBringing you your pillows.â He motioned his chin down at them to emphasize his words. âLook, we need to talk.â
Satoru could feel your breath quicken, your chest moving faster with each inhale you took. From your reaction, he could figure out just who exactly this asshole was. This dark-haired asshole who just barged into your room had to be the ex you didnât want to talk about in any way, shape, or form. Looking at him, Satoru came to one conclusion without even knowing the guy. He was a fucking prick.
âLook, Toji, Iâm exhausted. I don't want to talk right now.â You snatched the pillows away from him. âSatoru and I were going to get ready for bed. I require some TLC tonight.â You went to shut the door, but Toji placed his palm against it, preventing it from moving.
âPlease, you and I both know this isnât your boyfriend. I need to talk to you now. Tell your friend here he can fucking wait until our conversation is over.â
The tone and mere attitude of the prick in the door had Satoru seeing red. He released you, turning you to face him, glaring daggers at the man spewing toxic commands. âIâm not a friend.â Satoru spit out the last word. In a flash, his hand gripped your chin, turning you towards him. His other hand rested on the back of your head, pulling you into a kiss.
It was your first kiss in a year and a half, a kiss that was full of rage and passion like you had never experienced before. Satoruâs kiss was for show, but fuck, it had your knees buckling. You matched his pace, kissing him back urgently. His hands tangled in your hair while you fisted his shirt. You prayed that this mini-makeout session was enough to fool your ex. Satoru pulled away to glare at Toji. His chest rose and fell as he slowly licked his bottom lip with a smirk.
âMy girlfriend and I were just getting ready to bed, if you caught the drift. If she wants to talk to you tomorrow, sheâll find you. Later.â Without another word, Satoru slammed the door in Tojiâs face before turning to face you.
âWow.â Was all you could manage to say as you ran your fingers over your lips. Seeing you do that while hearing your breathless voice had Satoru fifty shades of red. In his whole career as an escort, he has never lost his cool like that until he was with you.
Oh, he was fucked.

[12:41 pm]
(cw: f!reader, a child, pregnancy complications, "Mommy" and "daddy")
"Mommy is tired?" dad!Jaehyun heard his little girl ask.
"A little bit, princess. The baby is getting bigger so Mommy just needs to lay down more, but she's not sleeping," Jaehyun explains in a sweet voice, pushing her unruly hair away from her face.
This was tough to explain to a 4 year old. Your first pregnancy had been a breeze compared to this one. Your first pregnancy almost five years ago came with some nausea that plagued you for the first few months, labor was long and arduous, but there was nothing that really hindered you from going about life as normal as possible. This pregnancy wasn't the same.
This time around you came down with gestational high blood pressure, which at your last appointment didn't look to be getting much better, so your doctor had put you on bed rest. You were doing your part by taking your medication daily and staying off your feet, but man was this a pain. You hated laying around and doing nothing, especially when your need to nest was nagging at you. You hated it, but you also knew that you wanted to avoid the induction being too early.
Jaehyun grabbed some food from the fridge and played it for you, lunch time. A healthy meal that he himself knew didn't sound super delicious, but he was being just as cautious as you were, if not more. "Let's take Mommy her lunch, princess," Jaehyun told his daughter.
She squealed excitedly, running to the bedroom with her Belle costume swishing around her legs. She pushed the door open and ran to the bed, climbing up onto the foot of the bed before settling beside you. Jaehyun smiled at the sight of his two girls. You were sat up against the headboard, folding laundry- which you had insisted on doing, Jaehyun didn't want you lifting a single finger, but you were stubborn.
"Lunch time, my love," Jaehyun smiled, walking over to you and handing you the plate. He tried not to laugh as your face scrunched up into a look of disappointment and smidge of disgust.
You stabbed the fork into the food and sighed before bringing the food to your mouth. If the bed rest worked, you'd be back on your feet in a week. Your doctor wanted to see if the bed rest would prove useful paired with the medication she'd put you on. You couldn't speak without the medical knowledge she'd possessed, but your blood pressure was going down and staying consistent. Your legs weren't as swollen and when Jaehyun took your blood pressure each morning it wasn't as high and remained consistent.
"I gave you your medication this morning right?" Jaehyun asked while holding up the pill bottle.
You hummed in agreement, swallowing your food, "as if you'd let me forget. I took it with a whole glass of water and ate it with my avocado toast. Hey, have you not been doing her hair? She looks like the brush hasn't touched her hair since I brushed it after her bath last night."
Jaehyun looked away, avoiding your gaze. Doing his daughter's hair wasn't a skill he had perfected yet. So yes, you were right, a brush hadn't touched her hair since last night. On the other hand, everything else had been taken care of. Your daughter didn't spend the whole day in her pajamas, she was dressed in real clothes, even if her Belle costume covered it up, she had brushed her teeth this morning, already eaten two meals today, and Jaehyun had her practice writing her name. On all levels, besides hair, he was killing it.
"Bring me the brush and some rubber bands please," you asked him sweetly, using your hand to tame the hair on the little girl's head.
He raised a brow, "finish your lunch and then I'll get you what you asked for."
You rolled your eyes, stabbing the fork into the food more harshly with a look that asked 'happy?' Your daughter turned her eyes away from the show on the TV and rubbed your belly, placing a small kiss on the apex. "Sister is making you tired, Mommy?" she asked, laying her head on your stomach.
You sighed tiredly, "yeah, princess. We don't want sister to get here too early so the doctor says I have to rest."
"But I want sister here already," she tells you with a pout.
Jaehyun takes the now empty plate from you while you brush your fingers gently brush through some of the tangles in her hair. "If the baby comes early, she won't be healthy, princess. We want her to be healthy right?"
"Yes," she sighs out, "Mommy, can you do my hair? Daddy doesn't know how."
Jaehyun rolls his eyes as he hands you the things you asked for, watches as his daughter willingly lets you comb the tangles from her hair gently, and watches as your fingers work deftly to braid it away from her face. He loves it.
He presses a kiss to your stomach, not trying very hard to keep the words that slip from his lips low and quiet, "if you want to give us a surprise and come out as a boy, that's fine. I'll still love you. Save me."
When two similar slaps to his arm come at the same time he can't help but laugh, if he's surrounded by girls that act like you and are the perfect mix of your genetics, he'd die a happy man.

"Shit."
It had been such a long time since Bradley wore anything other than a flight suit, a khaki uniform or gym clothes, he had no idea what he was supposed to wear to dinner tonight. You mentioned weeks ago you thought Italian food sounded nice for a second date, and he agreed wholeheartedly. He managed to snag a table for the two of you at Salvatore's, and he was absolutely prepared to drop over five hundred bucks, but his clothing was becoming a situation.
After spending the entire day with you yesterday, Saturday morning was a bit of a reality check. He was trying to work through three loads of laundry while he sorted through a box of mail. There was nothing sweet in there like the packages you and your class sent to him while he was deployed. It was mostly bills that had already been automatically paid online, mortgage statements, and junk. Then he started folding laundry, somehow expecting some articles of clothing that weren't threadbare tee shirts or tropical print button downs to jump out at him.
"Why don't you have normal clothing?" he asked himself as he picked up his phone now that it was late enough to text you. He wanted to make sure you were okay with grabbing a drink before the dinner reservation which wasn't until 7:45. But when he unlocked his phone, instead of zero new messages, he found a picture you sent seven minutes ago.Â
"Oh my god," he groaned softly, dropping onto his bed next to some unfolded laundry. You were in your own bed wearing his favorite sweatshirt and a bright smile.
Good morning, Handsome. Last night felt like a dream, but your sweatshirt is real, so it must have happened.
He scrambled to write back, clothing crisis forgotten. God, he wanted to be in that bed in the worst way. Things would definitely get out of hand pretty quickly, but he knew those first few kisses would be the sweetest things. After last night at the beach, waiting for a few more dates was going to be the challenge of his life, but he wanted you to know he was in this for the long haul. Especially after you mentioned that you thought he may have ghosted you.
Hey, Gorgeous. My sweatshirt looks way better on you than it ever did on me. Did you sleep in it?
He hit send and then wished he hadn't asked that question. He sounded like a horny twenty year old. It was bad enough that he had to practically beg you to go inside your apartment last night while you were kissing his neck, but he didn't want to embarrass himself.
Of course I did. It smells like you. The only thing better would be having you in my bed, too...
How the hell was he supposed to wait until this evening to see you? He tossed his phone aside. His blood felt like it was on fire, and he was sweating. Never before had he wanted to move this fast from a first date to making things official. But he knew you. He'd been working up to this point for months. And the Thai dinner with Prosecco on the beach wasn't really a first date. That felt closer to a reunion with a girlfriend than anything else. The only thing missing for that to have been true was a sleepover instead of him taking you home for the night.Â
He was too many steps ahead right now. You hadn't yet done the drive down to Coronado from Mira Mesa for yourself, but he already caught himself wondering if you'd consider moving in with him in the future. "You need to relax," he ground out through gritted teeth. "You'll scare her away." He cracked his neck and forced himself to fold a stack of underwear before picking up his phone to reply.
I don't want to rush things, but your bed does look very comfortable. I'm confident we could get cozy there... You're making me blush. I need to get this conversation back on track. Cocktails before dinner at Salvatore's? I'll pick you up at 5:30?
A few minutes later, you responded with a photo of you still all snuggled up in bed, smiling and giving him a thumbs up in his shirt.
--------------------------
"Just in case," you muttered, making sure your bedding was straightened and your room was tidy. You left Bradley's TOP GUN sweatshirt folded on your pillow, but you certainly wouldn't mind having the man himself in your bed tonight. Your fingers and toes tingled when you thought about it. You bit your lip and scooped up his shirt, inhaling his scent one more time before you realized he would be here any minute.
When he knocked on your door, you set it back on your pillow and glanced at yourself in the mirror as you bounced past it. Cocktails and dinner at Salvatore's would have been a major splurge for a night out for you, but Bradley selected the restaurant. All you did was mention Italian food, and he really ran with it. You'd have been happy with some pizza and breadsticks, simply excited he remembered you mentioned Italian food at all, but this called for your littlest black dress and your brightest red lipstick.Â
"I'm coming!" you called, going as fast as you could in your black heels, giggling at the double meaning. You had to compose yourself before you could open the door, and when you did, you were met with the actual man of your dreams.
"Hey, Gorgeous." Bradley's crooked little smile faltered a bit as his gaze slid down from your eyes to your lips, but he didn't stop there. He was shamelessly checking you out as a pretty shade of pink crept up into his cheeks, and you did a slow turn for him.Â
Your skin felt warm as you met his eyes after doing a full circle. His lips were parted as you whispered, "Hi," and reached for his hand. As soon as your skin met his, he pulled you closer to him. "Bradley." His lips were on yours as he backed you up into your apartment until you softly met the wall behind you. He was big and warm, and you were holding his left hand while his right one came up to your face.
He broke the kiss by tipping your chin up so you were looking at him. "You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," he crooned softly. Your lipstick was smudged along his mouth, and his tongue darted out to taste it before he said, "I'm fucking crazy about you."
His rough thumb dragged along your bottom lip as you said, "And you've never even seen me dispose of a spider for you."
"Baby," he rasped. "I'd probably propose."
A shocked giggle escaped you, and his crooked grin was back as he kept you there against your wall with your door wide open. You reached up and ran your fingers along the collar of his oxford shirt before tugging on the fabric until his lips were on yours again. You let your head tip back against the wall as he devoured you, tasting your lips, tongue and teeth before his forehead came to rest gently on yours.
"You know," you gasped, trying to catch your breath, "I thought all your emails were sweet and romantic."
He chuckled as he pulled away from you. "I was hoping I was doing okay in person, too."
You shrugged playfully and tried to spin out of his grasp, but his hand was still wrapped up in yours. He followed you to your coffee table so you could grab your purse as you casually told him, "You're even better in person than I thought you'd be."
"Oh yeah?" he asked, pulling you close again. "You like my stupid looking clothes and how I can eat three meals for dinner?"
He was so endearing, you didn't know how to handle him. So you kissed him again and whispered, "I like all of it." You let your fingers trail along his shirt buttons as you said, "You look nice in this, but I can already tell you're more comfortable in your colorful Aloha shirts and jeans. And I love that you can eat three meals for dinner, because we ended up sharing everything last night."
"Let's go," he coaxed, leading you toward your door. "I'll let you pick whatever you want to try at Salvatore's. I don't usually like sharing my food, but there's just something about you, Gorgeous. You make me feel comfortable."
-------------------------
You tried to tell Bradley twice that he still had some of your lipstick smudged on his face, but he just shrugged and said, "Good," in response both times. If he didn't mind, then neither did you. It couldn't be any more obvious that he was with you when the exact color that was on your lips was also on his. You listened to him hum along to the retro oldies station as he merged onto the coastal highway while you took a minute to fix up your own smudged lipstick.
He grinned over at you as you put your makeup away and said, "Come on, Baby. If you didn't want it on my face, then you wouldn't be putting more on your lips."
Every time he made a bold statement like that, you wanted to cancel dinner altogether and take him to your bedroom. "I never said I didn't want it on your face. It looks good."Â
He reached out blindly for your hand, and you grabbed his immediately. "You did tell me you wanted me to kiss you as soon as I saw you."
"Yeah," you muttered. "Don't stop doing that." You knew things with him were going to get physical pretty quickly, but you'd never been quite this attracted to someone before. You drew little shapes on his palm as you asked, "How was your first night back in your own bed after so many months away?"
He groaned softly. "Epic. Fantastic. I don't fit very well in an extra long twin bed."
"No, I would imagine you don't," you said with a laugh as you watched him drive his Bronco in the evening sunlight.
He licked his lips and grinned as he said, "Would have been better if you were there though."
The eruption of butterflies in your belly left you biting your lip. You wanted to respond, but you needed to be able to make it through dinner before you were hanging off of him again like you were last night. That's when he brought your hand up to his lips and kissed your knuckles, treating you to his mustache there. "Feel like getting a drink or two in the lounge first? Maybe a bottle of wine?"
"Mmhmm," you hummed, ready to go anywhere he took you. As soon as he parked, he jogged around to help you down, letting you slide against his body with your hands on his shoulders. You wobbled a bit in your shoes, but he kept you steady.
"You good?" he asked as he leaned in, his lips brushing the side of your neck as his arm wrapped around your waist.
"So good," you promised. "Never better."
Bradley kept his hand right there on your hip as he led you along the sidewalk toward the restaurant. The lounge was packed; this was definitely a popular weekend date night locale. Couples filled the space with noisy conversation, but you could hear Bradley perfectly as his lips found your ear when he said, "There's an empty stool at the far end of the bar." He gave your hip a little squeeze as you headed for it, and he leaned on the bar next to you. "Why don't you pick out a bottle of wine or whatever you want? I'll go let the hostess know we'll be hanging out in the lounge."
When you agreed, he kissed your lips like the two of you had been at this for years, not just since yesterday. You weren't the only one who watched him walk away in his snug pants and Oxford shirt that somehow showed off his biceps. He was just that good looking. When you saw him without a shirt on, you'd probably faint and need him to revive you. When the bartender came over, you were chuckling to yourself at the idea of having sex with Bradley while he kept his shirt on to save you from that fate.
"Can I get you a drink?"
You looked at him in a daze, realizing you meant to choose a bottle of wine. You blurted out what kind you liked best, and with a nod and a smile, he turned to fill your request. And that's when you finally looked at the menu and realized the bottle was more than a hundred and fifty dollars.
"Oh shit." But it was too late. He had already opened it and was heading your way with it. You scrambled in your purse for your wallet, cringing at the idea of Bradley seeing the bill when you could have simply ordered a cocktail instead. Just as the bartender was pouring out a bit of the wine for you to try, you found your credit card successfully. And that was also when Bradley came back.
"They'll come get us when our table's ready," he said. "I told them it would be easy to find me since my date is the most beautiful woman in the restaurant." He watched the bartender pick up a second glass and said, "Oh perfect, you found some wine that you like."
You nodded and tried your best to pass your credit card across the bar undetected with your hand covering it. "I sure did."
Bradley's eyes followed your hand as he took a sip of the wine. "What are you doing?"
"Nothing," you told him, picking up your own glass with your other hand. You tasted the wine and nodded at the bartender, and then he filled up both glasses while Bradley reached for your credit card.
"That's not necessary, Gorgeous. You can put that away."
You waited until the bartender walked off before you shook your head. "Let me pay for the wine. I was distracted and just picked a random bottle before I looked at the price, and then it was too late because he already had it opened. It's expensive."
Bradley looked completely unfazed as he eased your card from your hand and tucked it back into your wallet. "I don't care about that."
"I do," you said softly in your embarrassment. "I don't want you to think that's what I expected."
Bradley laughed in response. "First of all, I would never think that. And second, I was on that aircraft carrier for so long, and this wine tastes so good, and you look so pretty... I don't even want to tell you how much I'd be willing to pay for that bottle of wine and our dinner."
You simultaneously felt better and a little warm. "Okay, fine. But next time we go out for dinner, we're getting burgers from In-N-Out, and I'm paying."
His smile grew as you sipped your wine which really was quite good. "So that means you want to go out again?"
You rolled your eyes up at him where he stood, his hand brushing your knee where it was crossed over your other leg. "I'm about to make an In-N-Out reservation right now."
"Perfect," he replied. "Which night? I have to work late a few days next week to get caught up on everything I missed while I was away."
"You're ridiculous," you told him with a laugh. "How about Wednesday?"
His fingers toyed with the hem of your dress as he said, "Wednesday's good. You also need to let me know when I can visit your classroom again." His words were so sweet, and his gaze was sincere, but the feel of his fingertips inching along your skin above your knee was something else.Â
You set your glass down next to your purse and reached for his hand, letting his fingers slip underneath your dress as you met his brown eyes. When he teased your skin with his rough hands, you reached for his shirt, and Bradley came willingly. Salvatore's didn't provide the two of you with the same level of privacy as the beach last night had, but you didn't really care, and he didn't seem to either.
-----------------------------
You had the softest skin. How was he supposed to keep his hands off you? And that red lipstick made your little pout when he teased you even more delectable than he could have imagined. And he'd been doing plenty of imagining for the last few months. He'd imagined you in a variety of scenarios with him, but so far being with you in person surpassed everything his vivid thoughts came up with.
When he mentioned visiting you at work, you treated him to the silky soft feel of your skin, and then you literally grabbed the front of his shirt and tugged until he was kissing you. Oh god, he was never going to recover from this. He had to wrap his hand around the middle of your thigh to keep himself from going any further as you moaned softly into his mouth. He was absolutely starving and a little dizzy from the wine, but he was thinking about skipping dinner in favor of the solitude of the Bronco right now.
"Mr. Bradshaw?"
Your tongue was slowly tasting his when you jerked away from him as the hostess strolled over. Embarrassed, you turned toward the bar as Bradley grunted in response at the young woman who told him the table was ready for the two of you. And maybe that wasn't a bad thing, because feeling you up in the middle of the crowded lounge wasn't something he'd feel good about later. At least not on the second date. He'd bring you back here in a few months and see if the two of you even made it to dinner.
With a smile, he reached for your free hand after you picked up your glass. You halfway hid your face against his bicep as the hostess picked up the bottle and led the way through the lounge and into the restaurant. Bradley kissed your forehead and murmured, "If I could keep my hands off of you, this wouldn't be a problem."
You peered up at him through your lashes. "Hanging out on your couch alone is sounding better and better."
"Fuck," he groaned softly as you released his hand and took a seat at the table set for two which was overlooking the bay. Bradley pushed your chair in, and his thumbs met your bare arms. He took a few deep breaths before taking the seat opposite yours and accepted one of the menus as he listened to the specials while he looked at your face. He muttered some sort of response, and then the two of you were alone.
You emptied the remainder of the wine between his glass and yours, and then Bradley watched you lick a little droplet from your thumb as you smiled at him. "So which three dinners are you planning on ordering tonight?"
It took him a second to realize that he was holding an open menu even though he hadn't looked at it once. He cleared his throat and said, "Definitely some homemade spaghetti and meatballs. The last time I ate spaghetti, it was overcooked and sad, and I had to go back to my bunk and think about you to make myself feel better." You covered your mouth with one hand while you laughed, and it was the most charming thing he'd ever seen. "I'm so serious, Gorgeous. I got a plate of soggy noodles, and literally the only thing that made it better was imagining you teaching your class about military grade jets and aviation."
Your pretty eyes were glittering as you told him, "I keep extending my lessons on the topic, and you are completely to blame for that. After the first time you responded to us, my students asked about you every single day. They are completely enamored with you."
"Yeah? Just them? Or you too?" He knew his words were reminiscent of the way you'd tried to blame it on your kids when you asked him to send you a picture so you could see what he looked like.
"Hmm." You pretended to peruse your menu. "I'm thinking about the ravioli. Or maybe the penne with vodka sauce." Your foot tapped his leg beneath the table, and he had to fight the urge to reach under and touch your skin again. You were teasing him in every way right now, and he was absolutely loving it. When the waiter dropped off glasses of water and some freshly baked bread, he asked if you wanted anything else to drink.
"You want another bottle of wine, Gorgeous?" Bradley asked, deciding to tease you right back.
"Absolutely not," you told him, looking at him like he had two heads before kindly telling the waiter, "No, thank you."
He was still laughing when he picked up a piece of bread. "So we'll get spaghetti, penne and ravioli?"
"You don't have to order what I want," you told him, your foot still running along his calf while your expression dripped with innocence.
"No. I want to though." It was kind of fun spoiling you with something as simple as dinner. Vanessa would have made a comment by now about how much she hated the slightly kitschy, over the top restaurant, even if the food was supposed to be immaculate. You didn't seem to mind one bit that he ordered three massive entrees and intended to finish whatever you didn't. Vanessa always got embarrassed, but all you said was that you were excited to try all three.
There was never a lull in conversation. You actually listened to Bradley when he was talking, and he could have listened to you all night.
"So you know how last night I mentioned... that I'd never really thought about dating someone in the military who deploys for work?"
"Yeah," Bradley rasped, not sure he loved where the conversation was heading.
You looked a little apprehensive as you said, "I was thinking about it more last night after you dropped me off."Â
"And?"
You kind of shrugged and said, "I think I'd actually be okay with it, as long as it's you. It almost feels like we got some big, scary thing out of the way already, you know? And I could always write to you, because I kind of loved doing that. And yes, Bradley, I am also completely enamored with you."
It was almost a shame that the food arrived then, because as you started to cut into an enormous ravioli, all he could think to say was, "I'm completely enamored with you, too."
-----------------------------
You were so full from dinner, you didn't know how Bradley could walk. He ate at least two times what you did, and then he insisted on ordering a piece of cheesecake. When you caught sight of the bill, you tried not to gasp, because it was more than you spend on groceries for a whole month. But he handed over his credit card and signed his name without even breaking conversation with you. And now you were discreetly grabbing a handful of mints on your way out of the restaurant as he held your hand.
It was late, and you knew he was still tired. He mentioned briefly that he had a lot of chores to do this week amidst some late nights at work, but you didn't know how you'd be able to wait until Wednesday to see him again. When he started up the Bronco and headed in the direction of your apartment, your mind flooded with questions, but he asked you one first.
"I already have plans tomorrow, but I don't think I can wait until Wednesday to see you again. What time do you usually get to school?"
"7:20."
"Okay. And what kind of coffee do you like?"
You couldn't stop smiling as you told him what you usually ordered on the rare occasion you had time to stop at Starbucks. You kind of already felt like he was spoiling you.
"Have you memorized everything I've ever told you?"
"Yep," he replied, his handsome smile evident in the street lights. "And I've gotta say, you're one of a kind, Gorgeous."
You honestly didn't want the ride to end. The fact that there was no buffer of traffic to add to the twenty minute drive made you pout a little bit. Bradley's deep voice layered over the music playing on the radio while he held your hand was intoxicating, but you made a disappointed sound as he parked in front of your building.
When he released your hand to kill the engine in the near darkness, all you could see was his handsome profile. "You thought the drive would be too much for me," you whispered. "But when I'm in the car with you, I don't want it to end."
He cleared his throat and softly said, "Well, we don't have to get out quite yet if you don't want to."
Your pout turned into a grin as you unbuckled your seatbelt. "I can tell you still need to catch up on some sleep. I don't want to keep you out too late, Bradley."
He chuckled and undid his own seatbelt. "Why don't you come a little closer and say my name again."
As you eased yourself onto your hands and knees, you scooted across the seat and whispered, "Bradley," with a little laugh.
"Closer?" he asked, and you crawled over to him until you were able to kiss his cheek.
"Bradley."
He turned his head so his lips met yours, and he whispered, "Closer," against your mouth.
You were immediately in his lap, your hands resting on his chest as the steering wheel met your lower back. Your lips found his scarred cheek just like last night, and you kissed your way along his mustache and the side of his nose. You let your hands drift slowly down over his abs until they met the leather of his belt, and you whispered his name one more time.
His big hands closed around your wrists as he groaned, "You really love teasing me."
You nodded and said, "I really do," as he guided your hands up to his shoulders and around his neck.
"You're really good at it, Baby. All those pictures of you in your bed are enough to get a man through a deployment and then promptly kill him once he's on dry land if he can't touch you immediately."
He kissed the inside of your arm, and you scooted your body a little closer to his. "You can touch me." Your words elicited a deep groan as he slid his big hands along your bare arms, leaving goosebumps in their wake. He kissed your lips, swiping his tongue against yours as his fingers trailed down your sides. You almost cried out when his thumbs grazed the sides of your breasts before he gently squeezed your waist and your hips.
You could invite him to stay over. You didn't think he'd turn you down if you did. But all you could manage to say was, "Bradley," between kisses.
He tipped his head back against the headrest and whispered, "I love the way that sounds." His eyes were glittering in the darkness as he looked at your face and your body, and you remembered his text message from earlier.
I don't want to rush things
It was hard for you to remember that yesterday in your classroom was the first time you touched him. The first time you heard his voice in person. As much as you wanted to lean in close and ask him to stay, instead you kissed his ear and said, "You promised me movie night on your couch. When?"
"Friday?" he asked, kissing along your neck. "Let me end the week with my Gorgeous girl?"
"Yes."
You were afraid you were going to melt right out onto the pavement when he opened his door, but he helped you down and kept his arm wrapped around you. Bradley walked a half step behind you in the darkness all the way to your apartment. While there was no expectation that he was going to join you inside, you ended up pinned against your door, because it didn't seem like he was quite ready to leave yet either.Â
He was eager. You could feel it as his lips found your neck again. He smiled against you as he whispered your name in that deep raspy voice. "Since you don't like surprises, I'm telling you right now that you should expect to see me in the parking lot at your school on Monday morning. Sound okay?"
"Oh god, yes," you whined as he released you. There were so many things you wanted to tell him as he put a foot of space between your bodies, really giving you a chance to see his pink cheeks and the way he was breathing deeply. You blurted out, "I'm falling so hard for you."
His crooked little grin was back as he nodded at your door. "Lock it behind you. And when you get in bed, in my sweatshirt, send me another selfie."
"I will," you promised, and you did exactly what he said. A minute after you texted the photo, you got a message back from him.
I think I'm falling even harder.

I'm so obsessed with them. She was so concerned about that bottle of wine! And he really wasn't lol. Coffee and burgers and a couch date coming up. This story will be 18+ soon. Thanks @beyondthesefourwalls

Heeseung
Guess I never got over you
There's never a moment in time where he's not thinking of you. Everything reminds him of you. Whenever he's scrolling through pictures on his phone, he always comes across yours. He could never bring himself to delete them. You were just.....his whole world. You were his everything and even though you broke up he could still feel a piece of you somewhere in his heart.
He doesn't even try to get with anyone else. He might go on dates here and there, but nothing goes anywhere. Not because the date was bad, but none of them are you. He only wants you. He doesn't admit it to anyone else, but you're always on his mind every second.
A year without you felt like hell. It was the biggest surprise to see you out while he was running errands. He wanted to be normal, didn't want to approach you and make you feel awkward. But most importantly, he didn't want to expose that he still had heavy feelings for you. He assumed you got over him, probably dating someone else now. He wouldn't be surprised cause you're so amazing.Â
He's in total shock when you approach him. There's a smile stuck on his face the entire time. Talking to you felt as if the gloom in his cloudy brain was overtaken by sunshine. You were his sunshine. You'd invite him to get something to eat after figuring out you both hadn't eaten. Was this for real? Is he dreaming?
You never realized how much you missed him until now. The others never satisfied your needs. Never gave you the proper attention he had, stared at you with loving eyes like he had, going out of their way to make you smile on your worst days like he had. You realized then that Heeseung was made for you. Being together may not have been right a year ago, but now, you knew it was the perfect time.
Jay
Never a moment you're not on my mind
Breakups were difficult, we all know this. But your breakup with Jay broke you. You felt as if a part of you left. You felt as if you were drowning in an ocean and he was the only one who could save you. But he wasn't there. At this point you believed life was unfair. Your first valentine's day without him really reminded you how in love you were.
The sweet gestures he would do, the dates he would plan, the gifts he would get, the princess treatment you received. You felt like you mattered to him. You felt like you were special. And you were. He saw you as more than just his partner. The breakup did a lot of damage to his heart as well. Though he wasn't as broken for long like you were, the impact you left on his life was visible. Especially now that you are gone.Â
You miss him everyday. There were times you believed you were over him. Times when you believed you were okay. Suddenly everything would come crashing down again. You just knew he was with someone new. Knew he didn't think about you the way you thought about him. Though not to the same extent as you, he did think about you.
Fate. That's how you'd both describe it when you bumped into each other. It was at a concert for a band you both loved. You'd spend so much time gushing over them together when you were dating. Things were extremely awkward. Actually that's an understatement for the tension between you two. It was as simple as a "hi" and a "how are you" before you had parted ways that day.
Little did you guys know that one occurrence was one of many. Suddenly you guys saw each other five times a month. At that point you knew it had to mean something right? The short conversations turned into long ones. All of a sudden you guys were texting? Then calling? Oh this totally meant something. Let's just say a rekindle of the relationship was the next step and it came faster than you could ever imagine.Â
Jake
Are we even exes?
The breakup was unexpected....kind of. Jake couldn't handle seeing you hurt, you couldn't handle seeing him that way either. With that being said, you both agreed to be friends. Friends, that was totally all you were. He was totally your ex. It was normal to still talk everyday, cuddle in bed, watch movies together, say "I love you" to each other, and make out. You know, things exes don't do.Â
You both swear up and down that you didn't realize you two were still acting like you guys were together. It took your friend to ask you if you got back with him for you to realize the situation. That's when the real breakup happened. You cried for days after cutting things off. Some days you felt fine and then the next you would feel as if a pile of garbage fell on you.Â
This sucked. Everything sucked. Everyone sucked. It took months to finally get over him. You had started going on dates again and let Jake completely leave your mind. Life without him was strange at first, but then it became normal. Even when you first saw him again at your mutual friend's party, you weren't fazed. He didn't seem fazed either. In fact, you saw him dancing around with another girl. That had to be his girlfriend right?Â
Didn't matter to you though. Strangely enough, that wasn't a one time thing. You started seeing him everywhere. Like legitimately everywhere. Was this a sign? Nah, it can't be. Things changed fast however. At another one of your friends party's you saw him again.
This time he was alone. He came up to you first. You guys talked for a bit...maybe one hour... actually for the rest of the party. One thing led to another and you both started talking consistently again. You found out that the other girl wasn't his girlfriend and she was just someone he met at that party. Safe to say you two weren't opposed to the idea of trying to work things out.
Sunghoon
Seems like we both can't move on
You always wondered if he still thought about you. You for sure thought about him. Every single day. There was no proper way to describe the hole you felt in your heart without him around. It made you feel as if you didn't cherish the relationship while it lasted. Little did you know that Sunghoon had thoughts about you. They were never ending. Whenever he tried to focus on other things, you popped back into his mind.Â
Something he's embarrassed to admit is that he has dreams about you. He didn't even realize that he stopped going outside much. He spent most of his time in his bed doing nothing, but thinking about you. You were no better. You were someone he could rely on and be raw and honest to. He was someone you could be your most authentic self with.
When you went on dates with other people, that was the one thing you noticed. None of them made you feel safe the way he did. None of them made you laugh the way he did. Were you ever going to find another like him? The first time you had seen him again, you chose to not speak. You wanted to get over him, talking to him wouldn't help.Â
Funny enough, Hoon shared that same thought process. He noticed you, but feared speaking with you would make it harder to get over you. He knew it would. The both of you hated to admit, but you both hoped to see each other again. Unexpectedly, it happened again. This time, you couldn't pretend you didn't see him. He couldn't pretend he didn't see you. Because you both locked eyes the moment you saw each other.
He was about to approach you, but his friend called for him before he could reach you. Feeling somewhat hurt, you went home hoping another occurrence like that would happen. You didn't need to hope, though. Your phone buzzed, and when you checked your notifications, he texted you. 'Wanna talk in person...alone?' That was the message. You couldn't leave him hanging. Better yet, you weren't going to. Maybe, just maybe, this time things would go right.
Sunoo
The words friend and ex don't mix
You never imagined that you could still be friends with your ex, but Sunoo was different....or at least you thought. Everything was mutual, so you guys promised there would be no bad blood. What was meant to be something as simple as being cordial, you found yourself still texting and calling him.Â
It's not like he was much better either. He picked up all of your calls and called back when he missed them. He responded to all your text messages and eventually found himself going out of his way to message you.Â
One thing led to another, and you guys began to hang out again. Realizing how much you missed him, how much he missed you, all of this became a regular thing. Still at that, you told yourself that you were just friends and nothing more. That was until your friend asked you directly if you still had feelings for him.Â
Of course you said no, it was impossible for you to catch feelings for your ex again right? Actually no, not at all. What if he didn't feel that way about you? Wondering if you should cut things once and for all, you then receive a message. From him. He wanted to meet with you. Anxious was somehow an understatement for how you felt.Â
You knew just as good that you would regret this. You knew he was going to cut things off, so you were preparing yourself. This last time you would spend together felt so bittersweet. You'd be in for a surprise when Sunoo spoke words you didn't know you desperately wanted to hear. "Wanna try us again?" That sweet smile you missed seeing. His delicate voice you missed hearing. Nothing in the world could compare to this moment. "Of course."
Jungwon
Can't escape you
You hadn't seen him since the breakup. It had been about 2 years since it all happened. It took you some time, but eventually you were able to move on from everything. You weren't necessarily trying to get back in the dating pool. Everytime your friends tried to set you up on a date you told them you weren't ready. The time just didn't feel right.
But has timing ever been on your side? Six months ago you started a new job at a café. It was mainly so you could build your bank up to help pay for your studies. Your coworker had told you the other day that someone new would be working. You did not expect it to be Jungwon. While you were wiping down the counter, you heard his voice. There was no mistaking his voice. "Hey, I'm Ju- oh.." He paused the moment he noticed who you were.
"Hi." You avoided all eye contact with him. Opening hours were coming up in 15 minutes, so you needed to make sure everything was set up. However, you couldn't take your attention away from him. He couldn't take his eyes away from you. You both failed to notice that neither of you moved. That was until the door opened and customers started coming in. From that day on you realized you'd be seeing him a lot.
For the first 3 months of working together you didn't dare speak to him and neither did he dare speak to you. The only words you'd exchange were work related. One day however, oddly enough, Jungwon approached you. Why? You still don't know, but the conversation was pleasant. You got the chance to catch up on each other's lives and share a few laughs. That's all. At least you thought so.
More months passed, and whenever you saw Jungwon you got that feeling. You know, the one where you can't think straight when your crush is around and your heart feels like it's 3 steps away from a heart attack? But you didn't have a crush on your ex right? Caught up in your thoughts, you never noticed how his eyes shined whenever they landed on you. How he was so eager to see you and hear your voice. He already accepted defeat. He'd fallen for you all over again. Now, all he needed was for you to admit you wanted him too.
Ni-ki
I'm here now
One of the more..."normal" breakups. Things just didn't work out at the time. He was traveling a lot while you were busy studying. You guys barely had time for each other and the relationship turned into a long distance one. You both decided things weren't working out and ultimately decided to break up. It broke your heart, of course it did. No breakup was easy.
You often found yourself reminiscing on the time you had spent together. He did too. Riki found it hard to sleep some nights knowing you weren't in his arms. I mean technically towards the end of the relationship you weren't there often, but being broken up felt different. Slowly but surely you built yourself up again. You weren't crying anymore and you were able to sleep peacefully now. However, you did still think about him from time to time.
It had only been a few months after all. You were still healing and that journey is never finishing quickly. Once you were in a better state your grades had improved, your skin was clear, you really took time to look after yourself. Riki on the other hand was healing slowly too. A few people had approached him, but he wasn't interested. Though he was getting over you, there were times you were on his mind. When a year and 6 months of your breakup passed, the both of you were in better shape. You both felt better and looked better.
Even better news, Riki was no longer traveling like crazy. He knew this was probably going too far, but he needed to see you. He at least wanted to see how you were doing. He claimed he wanted nothing more, but deep down, he wanted to hold you, kiss you, tell you the words you wanted to hear before you guys broke up. 'I'm here to stay.' You were at the library looking for a book you needed for a class when you noticed a familiar figure in your peripheral entering. It was Riki. You couldn't lie and pretend like you weren't excited. Riki didn't even know why he was there.
Something in his body just told him to go to the library. Now he knew why. Upon seeing you, he couldn't resist the urge to let his arms fly open. You found your way into his embrace. His hug was tight. It made you feel secure. Without saying any words, mainly to avoid noise violations, his body did all the talking. The reassurance you wanted from that time, you finally got it. Riki wasn't letting you go anytime soon. He honestly forgot you guys were in public. To make the moment more perfect, he leaned into your ear and spoke those magical words. "I'm here, and I'm going to stay for you.â

Second Time's The Charm VII
Alexia Putellas x Reader
Summary: A look back to when you were still 'divorced'
You panted as Alexia rolled of off you. "We can't do this," You said," We're divorced."
"Yes, we are..."
There was silence for a moment as you both caught your breath.
You'd only just moved away to London a few months ago. You'd only just gotten settled at the hospital and with your new contract for the Arsenal Women's Team.
You'd only just gotten settled but, still, you felt the need to return home for the week, to be able to speak Spanish again with people that didn't have to stumble over their words to communicate with you.
Somehow, somewhere along the line, you'd ended up in Alexia's bed again.
You wouldn't say it was unwelcome. You wouldn't say that it didn't feel like a piece of home, curled up in her arms as she whispered sweet nothings in your ear.
But, still, the pair of you were divorced.
"Your toothbrush is still in the bathroom," Alexia said as you pulled yourself out of her comforting embrace," And your skincare stuff is still there."
You nodded, making your way through your evening routine.
You hadn't planned on doing that though. You had planned to just pull on your clothes and return back to the hotel room you booked.
Instead, you showered and brushed your teeth and did your skincare and pull on an old pair of sleep shorts and one of Alexia's even older Spain jerseys.
You ended up in her bed again, propped up on the pillows as you read through a medical journal absentmindedly as Alexia typed something on her laptop.
"What is that one?" She asked and you hummed as you turned the page.
"A women's ACL study," You replied, turning another page, scanning through a table of statistics," What are you doing?"
"Brand stuff...I think...I'm not actually sure..."
"Well make sure you read the contract, Ale," You reminded her," You don't want to be stuck in something you can't get out of."
"Oh, right, yeah."
"You send it to Eli. You know she'll check for you."
"You're so right, amo-" Alexia cut herself off.
She was about to call you 'amor'. She didn't think she was allowed to call you that now you weren't together. But she's never really called you anything different.
Ever since your marriage at five years old under the slide, you'd always been 'amor' to her. It was strange to not be able to call you that now.
All of this was strange.
Having you in her bed but somehow not being together at the same time. This was all natural. All normal but not at the same time.
Because you weren't together anymore.
Alexia wasn't quite sure where the boundaries were anymore. You'd never been just friends, not truly anyway. Sure, your official relationship started when you were twelve and you were both married by eighteen but even as little kids, the signs were there.
But you smiled at her now and Alexia forgot all about the fact that you were divorced and your life was now in England and she surged forward to plant a kiss on your lips.
You kissed back without even a thought, letting Alexia slip her tongue into your mouth.
You laughed as she pulled away. "What was that for?"
"Nothing. I can't want to just kiss you?"
"You're so sweet, Ale."
You yawned then and Alexia pulled the research paper from your hands.
"Alexia...I was reading that!"
"You're tired," She said in answer," Go to sleep."
"You're not my wife anymore," You reminded her," You can't tell me what to do."
A deep pit formed in Alexia's stomach at your words.
You were right. She wasn't your wife anymore and she didn't get to tell you what to do.
She was so used to reminding you to do things like that, to put down your research papers and get a good night's sleep, to hop in the shower instead of spending hours pouring through articles and papers and ideas.
She'd forgotten that you didn't need her to do that anymore.
"But it's nice that you still care," You said, curling up on your side.
There was silence for a moment before you peaked your head over your shoulder.
"Do you not spoon anymore, Ale?" You asked, a pout on your beautiful lips," I've really missed my big spoon."
That's all it took for Alexia to throw her laptop to the side, switch off the light and pull you into her arms.

Tags: getting together, first kiss, innuendo, bisexual steve and eddie, eddie speed-runs a sexuality crisis, inappropriate use of whipped cream, fast burn (these two have never gone slow in their lives), fade to black
Written for the STWG July 28 prompt "Oh. Oh."
Steve stared at Eddie in complete silence.
Eddie fidgeted under his gaze. âSo. Perhaps. In this instance, giving into the gremlin that lives inside my head was not the best choice I could have made,â he said sheepishly.
âReally Edward. You donât say.â Steve was still holding the incriminating weapon, had been since he confiscated it. Every so often he twirled it around in his hands.
âWhat if you uhhh, did it back to me? Weâll be even?â he offered. âCome on, itâs fine, I wonât even fight you on it!â
âCanât do that because weâre at my house, not yours, and this was my last pair of clean pants and underwear. So, unless you want to walk around like Winnie the fucking Pooh for the rest of the night, maybe we donât spray whipped cream down your jeans too.âÂ
Steve ran an agitated hand through his hair. âIâm going to go take a shower and wash this shit off of my junk now, âkay? Just put the ice cream back in the freezer, we can do a movie night together another time, I guess.â Disappointment was written all over his face. Oops, Eddie didn't realize how much he must have been looking forward to watching Raiders of the Lost Ark.Â
As Steve turned around to go, Eddie knew he should let him. Unfortunately, Nosnum Eidde, the impulsive gremlin living in his brain, was still firmly in control.
âWait, letâs not waste it. Let me clean you up!â He blurted out.
What?
âWhat?â Steve was staring again, this time with eyes wide in confusion.
âLet meâŠclean up the mess I made. On your body.â
âEddie I really canât tell if youâre joking or not.â
It did sound like a joke didnât it. But if it was a joke, why was the thought sending sparks of lighting along his spine.Â
âI donât. Donât think Iâm joking right now,â Eddie said slowly. âGive me a minute here.â
It wasnât like his brain had a perfect track record when it let Nosnum have the wheel. Like those times it had told him that he could climb the tallest tree in the trailer park without getting stuck at the top, or point out how hypocritical OâDonnell was acting during class without getting detention.Â
But it had also gotten things right on occasion. And with Steve standing so close, it was busy pointing out things Eddie hadn't thought about before: like for example, when Steve chewed on his lips in agitation, they became invitingly plump. And, despite the growing damp spot on the front, those jeans were still hugging Steve's ass perfectly.Â
Perhaps most importantly, he wasn't rushing forward to punch Eddie's lights out for insinuating, well. He just stood there with a faint blush coloring his cheeks. In his house, a place currently unoccupied by anyone else, not even Robin. While wearing a shirt that was just on the wrong side of too tight with his hair coiffed for a night out and oh my G-dâ
âSteveâŠwas tonight supposed to be a date?â Eddie was shocked the question fell out of his mouth so steadily.
The blush on Steve's face grew darker. âI mean, sort of? Was getting mixed signals from you butâyeah.â He shrugged. âWe havenât been able to hang out one on one since I figured things out. Thought Iâd see how tonight went before making a move.â
âOh. You. You had a plan to seduce me.â Eddie wheezed a little. "You like me like that?"
âI uh, kind of put two and two together about a month ago. Had a really long talk with Robin, and turns out apparently normal men don't want to, you know, make out with their guy friends. Or imagine Harrison Ford holding a whip when heâs all sweaty andâwait, what about you, Mr. 'Propositioning My Friends To Use My Mouth?â How long have you known?"
âAbout five minutes consciously.â Eddie said in a strangled voice. âMaybe ten if we consider what I did to your pants subliminal foreplay.â
Steve snorted. The gremlin in Eddieâs brain was convinced this made him even more attractive. Huh, maybe this had been going on for longer than he had realized, if a snort could set him off.
âNot really sure what submarines have to do with Cool Whip, but yeah we can probably count that. Welcome to the âpart gayâ club man! Youâre taking this really well, no offense.â Steve pat him on the back, the brief contact sending more sparks through his veins.
âYeah, in 1985 Iâd probably be doing something destructive right about now.â Eddie agreed. âBut the me of 1987 canât really muster up the energy for another panic attack after finding out about inter-dimensional portals or. You know. Everything else that happened.â Wow, real smooth Eddie, way to kill the mood of whatever fever dream was happening right now.
âBesides,â he tried for a joke. â1987 Eddie has a high school diploma. My brainâs so full of facts thereâs no more room for anything else unless we shove it into my mouth andââ His eyes widened as he caught up with what he was saying. He ducked to hide behind his hair. âUh, what I mean was, um. Yeah Iâve got nothing to say for that.â
Steve gave another adorable snort and walked closer. âWe may have to work our way up to that one, but maybe I could give your mouth something else to put its lips around instead?â
âDude that doesnât evenâwhat, do you want me to vacuum seal your mouth with mine? How would we, wait, please tell me that isnât the secret move you pulled that had all the cheerleaders in school losing their minds over?â Eddie squeaked out.
Steve blushed again even as he laughed. âFirst of all I only ever actually dated like, three people in high school, I wasnât as big a slut as rumors made me out to be. And okay that might have sounded better in my head, but in my defense I kind of canât think of anything but kissing you right now.â
Eddie rapidly nodded his head. âYes, thatâs. We should do that. Please.â After a slight roadblock in which both of them on autopilot tried to take the lead and grab the otherâs face, they finally managed to actually press their lips against each other.
And oh. Oh.Â
Look, this was far from Eddieâs first kiss. But this was the first time someone still wanted to kiss after seeing him eat eggs with maple syrup on them. Or who knew he secretly slept with his childhood stuffed animal. Because Steve wasnât angling to get cheaper weed, or trying to get back at his parents by having Eddie knock on the door in his ripped jeans for a date.
Steve knew Eddieâs whole sordid history, and kissed him anyway, holy shit.
The kiss itself was short and relatively chaste. But after they stopped, Steve didnât immediately lean out of Eddieâs space. Instead he gave the tip of Eddieâs nose a quick peck before resting their foreheads together. A giggle bubbled up out of Eddieâs chest.
Steve rapped his knuckles on Eddieâs head. âEverything okay up there?â
âYou like me. Steeeeve Harringtonnn likes me!â Steve smiled softly at him as he cupped Eddieâs cheek in his palm.
âYeah, I do, you big dork. And Iâd love to continue this, but because someone sprayed whipped cream onto my junk, I need to go shower it off before it gets even crunchier because wow, this is uncomfortable.â
Now it was Eddieâs turn to blush. âSorry about that again. But if you want maybe uh, maybe I could join you and actually help clean it off?â
Steve smirked. âI think we can work something out, yeah. Come on.â
Running up the stairs while Steve tightly held his hand, Eddie decided that perhaps this time, his brain might have had the right idea after all.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Later that evening:
Eddie: "Wait, I was flirting with you the entire Spring Break from hell wasn't I."
Steve: "That was point #1 on Robin's 'Eddie is into you' list."
Eddie: "In hindsight this does explain why she kept saying I could be myself around her last week. I used the opportunity to give her a 2 hour long intro to metal music lesson."
Steve: "Yeah, she said I still owe her for that."

Fire Is The Devils Only Friend
Chapter Five
There was no such thing as making it on your own with a high profile boyfriend. That was why she kept her relationship a secret. But then after a PR fuck up, her boyfriend is forced into PR relationship and she's left on the side lines, missing him
1.1K
Series Masterlist
Carlos didn't tell her that he had bought her book. He didn't mention it when he kissed her goodbye, leaving her with Piñón. But it was in his bag as he headed to the Grand Prix.
With Rebecca Donaldson at the Grand Prix, there was very little Carlos could do to show her that he loved her. But any spare moment he got, he was reading her book. In his drivers room, in the back of the garage when he wasn't needed, he had her book open.
Fans noticed immediately. They first noticed that he was reading. But then they took notice of what he was reading. At first it was no big deal. She'd been in the garage a couple of months ago, so it wasn't the most outlandish thing in the world.
But then one fan pointed out that the book had only been released in English. He was reading the book in English!
The theories from the fans started. Well, were they theories if they were correct? The ferrari media team watched if all unfold. They knew they had to get on top of it and quick.
So, while she was sending her mother a picture of Piñón with his head on her lap, a picture was circulating instagram. She hadn't touched instagram since the day she found out about Carlos and Rebecca, and she didn't touch it this time.
A screenshot from Carlos's account, his latest post, in fact, was he and Rebecca Donaldson, hand in hand as he kissed her head, popped up below the picture she had sent her mother. 'Is this him?' Her mother had typed beneath the picture.
"Fuck," she choked, turning the phone off and throwing it to the side. Piñón went to chase after the phone, but she held onto his collar, crying against his fur.
She thought she was okay with it, but she wasn't. She hadn't been prepared for the onslaught of emotions that came with seeing that picture.
"He kisses my head like that," she said to Piñón. "I don't think we have any pictures like that together."
Of course, she didn't know the context, didn't know why that picture had been posted. She didn't know it was because Carlos had been caught reading her book, and that fans were beginning to get suspicious.
She wiped her tears and grabbed Piñón's lead. Taking nothing but a set of keys, she left their house and took Piñón for a walk.
It was therapeutic, taking Piñón on his walk. He led the way, taking her on the trail he usually walked with Carlos. The three of them had never gone together. It was usually Carlos. Normally, when she took Piñón, she was careful, avoiding main roads and potential pictures being taken.
But, today, she couldn't find it in herself to care.
"Is it my fault?" She asked Piñón as she sat on a bench. "I mean, if I hadn't been so against us being public in the first place would this have happened?"
Of course, Piñón didn't answer. He couldn't answer. He was a dog.
She thought she could do this. She certainly loved Carlos enough to try. But this, seeing another beautiful woman doing all of the things she wished she could do with him, was too much.
And even if Carlos publicly broke things off with Rebecca for her, he'd always be seen as a cheater and she'd always be seen as the other woman. It could ruin her life.
Well no, that was exaggeration. But she didn't see it that way, she wasn't going to see that way, not for a while. At the moment, Piñón was the only thing keeping her there.
Carlos was on the podium. It was a win, actually. She watched on the television as he stayed ahead of the rest of the grid. He was showing Ferrari exactly what they would miss if they dropped him. It gave her a little slither of hope.
But that hope soon dissipated. She wore a small smile as Carlos climbed out of the car. He ran over to celebrate with his team, and then his father. The father that didn't know she existed.
Behind his father, she was there. Carlos hugged her as she stepped towards the barrier. Hugging wasn't so bad; they couldn't be seen ignoring each other, after all.
But then Rebecca's hands were on his face and she pulled him in for a kiss. The camera zoomed in on them as Carlos shut his eyes, melting into her.
Fuck, she couldn't do this.
For the second time in two weeks, she packed up her things and placed them in her car. Tears rolled down her sheets as she turned the few frames full of pictures of her and Carlos around so that they were facing the wall.
Last, she grabbed Piñón's bed. He wasn't her dog, and she had no intention of keeping him from Carlos, but she was going to take him with her, keep him well looked after while Carlos was away.
And then, when Carlos came to pick him up, she'd break up with him.
Piñón sat in the back of the car as she drove to her mother's house. "Oh, buddy," she whispered. As they drove. He slept on the drive, unaware that anything was wrong. She couldn't help but be envious of him, of how unaware he was of what was going on.
Her mother opened the door as soon as she saw her car coming up the drive. "You couldn't do it, could you?" She called, watching her climb out of the car.
She scowled as she grabbed Piñón. When she saw him, her mother gasped and let out a laugh. "You kidnapped his dog? That's hilarious," she said taking the dogs lead from her daughter.
Her daughter, who said nothing as she got her things from the car. Her mother could never understand this, could never understand what she was going through.
"I saw them doing all of the things that I wanted to do with him," she said quietly as she walked into the house and unclipped Piñón's lead. "I couldn't do it. I couldn't watch it, I couldn't watch him pretend to be with her while I sat at home, looking after his dog."
She scratched Piñón's ears. Piñón, who, at that moment, she'd miss most of all.

Vertigo
Summary - You were kicking yourself, you were a coward, a hopelessly unrequited mess hung up on a time traveling genius who didn't end up with normal, boring girls like you.âšâšPairing - Five x Reader, OCxReader (briefly)
Warnings- Swearing, sexual innuendo, alcohol, canon divergence, pining
A/N - I didnât edit this, sorry, but I got a little fic idea and ran with it. Iâd never heard of Umbrella Academy until about a month ago when the series ended and the community was on fire, I only write for series 4 and Five is aged up in this one because itâs a travesty we didnât get his family making jokes about him legally being able to drink now. Sloane is alive because so she should be.
You tilted your head back and finished your drink while the bartender was already making your next one, the pleasant buzz of alcohol thrummed through you easing the anxiety you'd had in coming here earlier tonight. âšâš"He won't stop staring" Charlotte whispered in your ear, leaning into you so much you stumbled into the bar. âšâšCharlotte was your favourite co-worker, she didn't seem to care much about your vague answers and the distance you kept from everyone at work. âšâš"Who?" You answered with fake interest, you knew who. âšâš"Oliver!" She exclaimed laughing into her drink still way too close to your face. âšâšShe was right, Oliver had been staring all night, aswell as flirting and buying you drinks. Oliver had asked you out once a few months ago and you'd rejected him, he took it on the chin and you'd been friends ever since. But you weren't blind, you seen the way he'd look at you, eyes flicking over your body before darting back up to your face when you'd walk by, his gaze always drifting to your mouth while you spoke.âš
The only difference was that for the first time tonight you were flirting back. âšâš"Come on, let's go dance" Charlotte tugged on your arm lightly gesturing at the packed dance floor. âšâš"I'll get my drink and I'll meet you out there" You told her, she dropped your arm and practically bounced into the crowd, your gaze caught Oliverâs and you gave him a quick smile, ducking your head and turning to face the bar. âšâšHe was handsome, smart, funny, successful and he was very, very into you, you should have been over the moon, but there was one very crucial thing he was lacking when it came to your feelings. âšâšHe wasn't Five Hargreeves.âšâšYou'd been living with Five for two years now, you'd been surprised when he offered up his apartment while you were still reeling from having somehow, inexplicably, jumped timelines. He had said he was away working all the time and the place was empty anyway. âšâšConsidering you'd been staying with all the other Hargreeves siblings on a rotating roster the offer sounded like a dream. Five had eventually warmed up to you after he'd decided you weren't secretly trying to screw over him and his family, it took a few months longer than this siblings, you thought living with him would be awkward and youâd have this semi silent co-existence type of roommate relationship. âšâšAs it turned out living with Five was easy. Yes, he was snarky, bossy and arrogant, but he was an old man at heart and he acted like one. When he wasn't working he was home reading about things that made your brain hurt, watching jeopardy and random documentaries, heâd recently found his new hobby in building these little complex car sculptures he'd painstakingly put together for weeks at a time. âšâšHe liked walking too, the two of you often went for strolls, getting fresh air and finding new things to see, you were always excited about these little adventures and finding another hidden gem in the city. Five also had a love of classic cars and driving them very fast whenever he had occasion, the first time he asked if you wanted a spin in a 1983 Pontiac Firebird heâd acquired for a Saturday drive you spent most of it holding on for dear life. Five was an entirely sensible, though impatient, driver in the city, but he let loose when you traveled onto open roads. He liked to go see some of the weird wonders America had to offer, he had a list.
It was so easy to forget he was an old man on the inside while simultaneously forgetting his body was so young on the outside too. âšâšYour favourite thing by far was drinking scotch at home on the couch just talking, laughing and listening to music as he tried to help you understand some complex theory on physics or his own time travel ones, he also told you stories of his life. Most of the time they were funny, but some nights it got somber and they were nights where you were brave enough to reach out and squeeze his hand as a comfort, he wasn't normally a very physically affectionate guy, but he always squeezed your hand back. âšâšThis was a problem because you'd very quickly fallen for Five, so quickly it was embarrassing, and Five had zero inclination towards you romantically. âšâšYou were helpless really, his tenacity, how incredibly intelligent he is, his arrogant charm and quick wit and how much he loved his family all made your heart flutter. There were times when he'd look up at you with mischievous green eyes, a slight smirk tilting his mouth and his dark hair falling so perfectly in his face that your heart would slam against your ribcage. âšâšBut as you had pointed out, this was all completely one sided. âšâšFive saw you as a friend, a close friend, but there was nothing more. He'd never once made a move or even hinted at seeing you romantically in the last two and a half years you'd known him. âšâšIt was fine at first, it was enough for you just to be in his orbit, to live in your home together drinking coffee in the morning while he did crosswords in the newspaper and asked for your help occasionally, to be at family dinners or events and stand to the side to watch his incredible and weird family laughing and shouting while the both of you stole a moment for each other in the, usually, happy chaos.âšâšIt was enough to be cooking dinner and have Five come home muttering about the idiots he worked with, shrugging out of his jacket and coming to see what you were making. He'd lean against the kitchen counter venting while you were getting everything ready, he'd eventually sigh loudly and ask about your own day. You'd try not to get too distracted when he'd reach up and loosen his tie, long, tapered fingers plucking the knot expertly apart. âšâšHe'd always stand there until you were done cooking, hair messy, a slight smile on his face, sometimes teasing you as you tried to one up him with playful insults, you never could, but you still tried and the wide grin he'd give you when you inevitably were lost for words against him made your face flush.âšâšIt was all so domestic and you were far too comfortable with it. âšâšThe longer you indulged in the bubble you'd created with Five the deeper you were falling in and the more it was going to hurt when it ended.âšâšYou'd been thinking lately about the future, you wanted someone to love, maybe even a family, you'd spent over two years now in a kind of limbo not willing to accept you weren't going home to your old life. But you were getting older, you were watching everyone else's lives change and grow while yours stayed the same. âšâšYou dreaded the day Five told you he met someone, it was bound to happen eventually, if anything you were surprised it hadn't already. You'd see the way women looked at him, but he always brushed them off if they were brave enough to approach, atleast while you were with him. You didn't like to think about what happened when you weren't.âšâšSo you pushed yourself to do this, to have some fun and get to know your co-workers better, let your walls down and maybe even give Oliver a chance. Lila had even called and invited you out tonight and although you would much rather have spent time with Lila, Diego, Klaus, Luther and Sloane you declined. Lila sounded happy you were getting out of the house and making other friends.
You were glad you came, you were having fun and the more alcohol you drank the more free and giddy you felt. It felt amazing not to care so much about your problems.
You hadn't been with anyone since you found yourself stranded in this timeline and all the pent up frustration from living with the man who made your pulse quicken on a daily basis felt like it needed to be let out. âšâšYou grabbed your drink and made your way over to Oliver, he smiled widely as you approached, it felt good to have someone interested in you.âšâš"Wanna dance?" He asked, there was a relaxed demeanour about him, he'd been drinking as much as you and you wondered if he could feel the same adrenaline about you as you were about him. âšâšYou nodded taking his outstretched hand as he led you onto the dance floor. The pub you all decided to visit had a band playing tonight, doing some pretty decent covers of some 80's rock and roll, you'd been here before with the others, it wasn't far from your apartment and Lila and Diego's house. âšâšYou saw Charlotte out there, swaying her hips with her arms around a mans neck, she winked at you with a wide smile when she saw Oliver pulling you further into the crowd of people.âšâšYou danced and sang , laughing and spinning around, everytime Oliver touched your skin it sent butterflies into your stomach, you don't remember the last time you felt this kind of nervous excitement, this exhilarated. âš
A lie.
âšYou absolutely do remember. âšâšIt had been their birthday, all of their birthdays, but it was Five's second twenty first birthday, so naturally there was alot of alcohol involved. Five endured endless teasing about finally being able to drink and watching his cranky, snide banter with his family had you grinning all night. âšâšYou shook your head, you wouldn't let yourself think about that night. It was a year ago and you'd filed it firmly in the do not open part of your brain, you saved it for late nights when you couldn't sleep and you let yourself take a pathetic hit off the memory. âšâšOliver pulled you closer to him and out of your head, his hands were on your hips, he had an easy, boozy grin on his face while he held you tighter against his body, you could feel muscle and warmth, your breath quickened.âšâš"You're so beautiful" He yelled over the music his hand sliding up to cup your face. âšâšYour heart was racing as he leaned in, you'd been waiting for this all night.âšâšHis mouth clumsily pressed onto yours, you kissed him back with a vigour you didn't even know you had. This was what you needed to do, you had to get Five out of your head which was ironic considering its all you could think about now. âšâšThe kiss was messy, not unpleasant though, he pulled back to smile at you before smashing his lips back onto yours more forcefully now, his hands sliding down your body as you swayed to the music, âšâšYour stomach turned flipped on itself, a sick feeling of guilt winding through you. It felt like cheating which was stupid, you weren't dating Five and Five wasn't in love with you. Five couldnât have cared less you were doing this. âšâšSuddenly everything was too overwhelming, you pulled back, but stayed in Olivers arms. His face was flushed and a goofy smile was plastered across it. You weren't sure you could do this, a kiss was one thing, but more felt like too much more. âšâšYou were kicking yourself, you were a coward, a hopelessly unrequited mess hung up on a time traveling genius who didn't end up with normal, boring girls like you.âšâšYou were abruptly pulled out of your mid makeout crisis when your arm was roughly yanked backwards and out of Oliver's arms. The alcohol made you unsteady and you'd almost tripped over stumbling into another body.âšâš"Lila?" You blurted out confused when you turned to see the culprit, she looked furious.âšâš"What the hell are you doing?" She barked at you loudly, you furrowed your brow at her, your mind trying to catch up with where Lila had just come from.âšâš"(Y/N)?" Oliver asked moving closer, hand outstretched in concern. âšâš"Back off wanker" She spat pulling you roughly through the crowd. âšâš"Ow Lila!" You exclaimed, she was squeezing your wrist too hard. You quickly sent a reassuring wave and smile at Oliver behind you while Lila practically dragged you with her, your boozy legs not wanting to cooperate properly. âšâšAs you made it off the dancefloor you were greeted with a few of the other Hargreeves family members, you smiled before realising they looked didn't look happy to see you at all, Diego in particular looked furious. âšâš"We're going home" Lila turned her head to tell you, not bothering to stop as she passed her family, even Luther and Sloane didn't meet your eye as you were tugged past. âšâš"Why?" You tried to pull your arm back. âšâšLila turned to look at you with so much barely restrained fury you flinched, she didn't answer and you didn't fight her as she continued to pull you into the cold night air.âšâš"I said I'm driving" You heard Diego arguing with Klaus as you tried to catch up with what the hell was happening. You were sitting in the back of Lila and Diego's van with Klaus, Sloane and Luther before you knew which way was up. âšâšKlaus sat beside you, the side of his mouth lifted at your confused gaze, but his expression was pinched. âšâš"Wait, I didn't tell them I was going!" You exclaimed looking back at the bar as the car jerked away from the curb throwing your body against your seatbelt.
âThatâs what youâre worried about!?l Diego yelled, turning in his seat to glare at you, it made you flinch. You'd never been on the receiving end of a Hargreeves wrath before.
âšYou looked over to Luther and Sloane, their mouths were tight and they were pointedly not looking at you. You were so confused, you were willing your brain to sober up a enough to make sense of this. âšâš"I can't believe this, how could you do this?!" Diego continued on driving the car faster than he should have been, white knuckle gripping the steering wheel, Lila was staring straight ahead seeming deep in thought. âšâšYou were definitely missing something because you had wracked your brain several times over and you were pretty positive you hadn't done anything at all to warrant this level of outrage.âšâš"Are you gonna say something?" Diego once again turned to look over his shoulder at you. âšâš"Just lay off, Diego" Klaus interjected "wait until we're home, she's drunk" âšâš"Lay off?! I haven't even started" Diego fired back. âšâšThe car turned sharply and you grabbed onto the seat to steady yourself, you looked over to Klaus who's expression wasn't angry as he gazed down at you, it was worse, he looked disappointed.âšâš"Has something happened?" You finally spoke up, as the words left your mouth you had a sudden scary thought "Is Five ok?" âšâš"Oh, so now you give a damn about Five, huh?" Diego sounded exasperated even though he let out a chuckle, shaking his head muttering things you couldnât hear. âšâšThe car pulled up in their driveway with a harsh jolt, you felt like the journey hear was way quicker than it should have been. You let yourself be led into the living room by Klaus who sat you down on the couch, the Hargreeves filed into the room each taking a seat, Lila pulled a chair from the kitchen into the room and planted herself down infront of you, Diego however was pacing back and forth looking like he was struggling not to explode. âšâšKlaus appeared beside you with a glass of water, you hadn't realise how thirsty you were, "Thanks" you muttered taking a long gulp. âšâšNo one had answered you about Five yet and anxiety was building in your chest. âšâš"How long?" Lila asked, the way she was staring into your eyes was intimidating the hell out of you.âšâš"How long what?" You asked back creasing your brow. âšâš"How long have you been fucking that guy?!" Diego exploded making your head snap towards him in surpriseâšâš"Diego, let me do the interrogating honey" Lila reprimanded, but turned to you expectantly.
"Oliver?" You asked quietly, what was their problem with Oliver?âšâš"That the assholes name, huh? Oliver what a dumb ass name" Diego was muttering to himself. âšâš"Well?" Lila widened her eyes at you expectantly. You suddenly felt extremely uncomfortable being stared at under a spotlight like this , this was your personal life and you could do whatever the hell you wanted. âšâš"I don't see how thats any of your business" You replied steadily, Lila looked like she could have slapped you, the twitch in her hand made you pretty sure she wanted to. âšâš"Our brother is our business" Diego stalked forward towards you "I never would have picked you for something like this, we all thought of you like family, Five worships the ground you walk on" You leaned back into the couch, Diego's voice was measured, but it felt oddly like being yelled at. âšâš"It stops now. You tell him when he gets back or we will" Luther spoke for the first time, all business and no nonsense, nothing like the goofy big guy you'd come to know over the last few years. Sloane locked eyes with you before dropping them, a sullen look on her face.âšâš"I'm sorry" You closed your eyes for a moment raising your hand up before running it across your face "why are you all so pissed?" You turned your confused gaze to Klaus.âšâš"Well, I imagine it was having our night interrupted by our brothers girlfriend playing tonsil hockey with some guy who's definitely not our brother" Klaus answered, his delivery was light, but his tone was clipped. âšâš"Five's gonna be devastated, is this what do while he's away at work? I just- I just- I just can't figure out why you'd do this to him, you guys are happy, arenât you happy?â Diego was pacing again.âšâšYour brain short circuited. âšâšGirlfriend?âšâš"Are you talking about me?" You asked bewildered. You weren't sober enough for this conversation because clearly you were missing something here. âšâš"Well as far as I know there wasn't anyone else out cheating on Five tonight" Lila answered back sarcastically. âšâš"You-" You couldn't even find the words, what in the actual hell was going on "I'm not Five's girlfriend" âšâšThe room went silent.âšâš"You can't be that drunk, if this is your idea of a ruse, it's a shit one" Lila raised her eyebrow looking annoyed.âšâš"Let me get this straight" you leaned back in your chair closing your eyes for a brief moment to organise your thoughts "you think I'm Five's girlfriend and you caught me cheating on him" You glanced at all the faces around the room.âšâš"Yeah, obviously" Lila's face scrunched up in confusion. âšâš"Well, you're missing one very important piece of that puzzle, I'm not his girlfriend" you shot back.âšâš"You live together" Sloane suddenly piped upâšâš"We're roommates" âšâš"You're always together, you went on a date last Saturday" Luther joined in. âšâš"We're friends, it wasn't a date it was a classic car show"
âYouâre like a boring old married couple, I saw you arguing over whether to have blueberry or chocolate chip muffins with your afternoon tea last week! â Klaus looked at you imploringly.
âIâm not boringâ You spluttered
"You're definitely knocking boots" Lila raised an expectant eyebrow. âšâš"No, absolutely not. Wait, you know that" You shook your head confused and turned to look at Sloane who also definitely knew that. You remembered the conversation with them about how you were most definitely not sleeping with Five despite everyone believing the contrary, but you cleared that up a year ago and no one ever brought it up again.âšâš"But our birthday" Klaus sounded mystified, your heart started pounding. âšâšHow did they know about that night, did Five tell them what happened? You wanted the ground to open up and swallow you whole. âšâš"What about it?" You feigned innocence. âšâš"Our master plan to make sure you two emotionally stunted sweethearts finally admitted you wanted to jump each others bones" Klaus looked at Lila who looked panicked at his admission.
âWhat plan?" You swivelled your head between them.âšâš"Well, we thought Five was being a cowardly little shit and needed a nudge in the right direction " Lila's smile grew cheesy and fake, you were sure she could feel the anger and embarrassment radiating off you.âšâš"It seemed like a giant success, I mean, when I drove you both home Allison and I were worried you were going to get it on in the back seat if I wasn't quick enough" Klaus replied laughing and nodding at his siblings, you were definitely red in the face.âšâš"No!" You said borderline hysterical "that definitely did not happen" This was hands down the most embarrassing moment of your life. âšâš"Wait, hold on, you aren't cheating on Five?" Diego asked with a hand in his hair.âšâš"No, we're just friends" You desperately wanted to end this conversation âyou can ask him if you donât believe meâ you offered. âšâš"Holy shit" Diego looked equal parts stunned and horrified.
âBut you two-â Luther looked like he was struggling to find words âyouâre both- you always-you know!â he exclaimed, his hands waving in front of himself. âšâš"I need more water" you muttered going to the kitchen. âšâšWhat an absolute nightmare, clearly the way you felt about Five was so obvious his own family thought you two were together, you were absolutely fucking tragic. You had to do damage control, the single worst thing you could think of happening in your life right now was the idea of Five looking at you with pity in is eyes if he found out about your feelings. âšâš"Hey" Lila and Sloane both slunk into the kitchen as you were downing your water "I think we need to talk" âšâš"What was this master plan Klaus was talking about?" You raised an annoyed eyebrow in their direction.âšâš"Well, it all started last year on the twins birthday"âšâšâš
A/N - thanks for reading if you got this far, most of this was a set up for another, hopefully, two parts to this series.

user60286430: didn't they just get married like five seconds ago?đ
I met my now husband George four years ago. He followed me on instagram, I followed him back and not long after that we were dating. Last year he proposed and just under a month ago we had our wedding, which was beautiful and only had our closet friends and family.
An hour ago I took a pregnancy test. I was only a day late on my period but I took it just in case. I could hardly believe it when I saw two lines and it was so faint that I convinced myself I was seeing things so I decided to sleep on it and then tell George when I knew for sure.
But I just couldn't keep it a secret. I blurted out, "George, I think pregnant." As soon as he walked through the front door after his shoot with Arthur tv. He was baffled. "You- woah- you think?" I nodded. He took a moment to process what I just said. "And you took a test?" He finally asked. "Yeah, the lines were really faint though. I was gonna wait until tomorrow to tell you but- it just came out."
He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around my shoulders. I let out a soft sigh of relief. "If you are then I'll be so happy," he whispered into my hair. I smiled, though he couldn't see me. "I'm so overwhelmed," I mumbled. His hand made its way up to my hair and he gently ran it over my scalp, silently reassuring me.
That night everything felt so strange. You're supposed to take the tests in the morning anyway for the most accurate results so we were just waiting and trying not to get our hopes up in case it wasn't positive.
The next morning I woke to an empty bed. I reached for my phone and then read the text George had sent me just ten minutes ago; "gone to buy more tests, hopefully I'll be back before you're awake x" I sighed softly then got up.
As I was brushing my teeth the front door clicked open and soon George was walking into the ensuite. He smiled softly as he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind, looking at me through the mirror. "Ready, love?"
"You look. I can't." I quickly passed the upside down test to George as we sat on the end of our bed. Just seconds before, the alarm on my phone rung but I couldn't bring myself to look at the test.
He took it and flipped it over. A wide smile spread across his face as an excited chuckle escaped his mouth. "Seriously?" I asked, shocked. "Y- yeah, you're pregnant!" He shot up of the bed. I giggled. "I'm gonna be a dad!" He pulled me up and into a bone crushing hug.
The next two months weren't very fun. At the beginning we were both so ecstatic. Then the morning sickness hit. I could barely eat, sleep and it was becoming impossible to make up excuses for why I couldn't go out.
George was like my rock through the entire ordeal. He was by my side every time I had to run to the bathroom, he held me and gently stroked my back as I tried to get some sleep, he pleaded with the doctor when we went for my first appointment hoping there was something, anything they could do and he let me ramble on about how I just wanted to feel normal again.
Slowly our friends figured it out and offered their help. The girls put together a basket and Faith made sure to include everything that helped her through her first trimester, Chris came round to keep me company while George had to go and film something for a brand deal and George's sister sat with me as we online shopped since I couldn't really go out.
When the sickness slowly started to ease off everyone was so relieved, George especially because he hated seeing me constantly upset. I was finally able to enjoy pregnancy, announce it on instagram and suddenly the last few months were erased from my mind.

At twenty two weeks we went on our little baby moon. I spent twelve days relaxing in the sun while George fussed about suncream and making sure I was in the shade. Since becoming pregnant he's been much more protective, which I don't mind since it's never overbearing. He's just trying to help in anyway possible.
"Good morning sleepy head." George greeted me quietly, sitting on the side of the bed next to my sleepy form and gently pushing the messy hair from my face. "Mornin'" I mumbled, shuffling slightly. He leaned down to press a soft kiss to my forehead before asking if I wanted some breakfast, to which I immediately nodded.
We left our little apartment after getting ready and walked hand in hand down the street towards the cute little outdoor café we'd spent quite a few mornings in the past week and a half.
"Thank you." I smiled at the young girl handing me my pancakes. "Will that be all?" She asked politely after placing George's breakfast in front of him. I nodded and she walked away.
"Mmm, I'm so glad I can actually enjoy food again," I said after swallowing a mouthful of food. George just stared at me. "What?" "I just love watching you." I chuckled. "That sounds a bit creepy babe."
When the day came that our baby moon was over I was sad to be leaving such a beautiful place that I'd made life long memories in but I was secretly very excited to be going home and getting back into normal life.

The next few months were spent relaxing and preparing for the arrival of our baby, who we found out the sex of just after our baby moon. We had a little gender reveal at our apartment with our families and a few special friends. We decided on a cake, classic, cute and delicious.
"I can't tell!" George announced. I stood next to him, my hand holding the knife that was cutting through the cake. Both of us were trying to peek at the sponge but it wasn't until I pulled the slice out that we spotted the pink.
Immediately the room erupted into cheers. I placed it down on a plate along with the knife and I turned to my husband. Tears welled in my eyes and when he wrapped his arms around me and pulled my body off of the ground the commotion around us seemed to disappear and all I could focus on was us.
"We're having a girl," I whispered, as though I was trying to convince myself that this was actually real. He gently placed me down, his hands landing on my hips. "I knew it. Dad intuition goes crazy." I giggled before pushing onto my tip toes and placing a loving kiss to his lips.
After that day I was suddenly obsessed with buying baby clothes, what the nursery was going to look like and the realisation hit me that I was actually going to have to push a human being out of my body, though George was quick to reassure me about that.
"Baby's the size of a small pineapple this week," I informed George as we sat on the couch, my feet resting on his lap as he slowly massaged them through my socks. I turned my phone around so he could see the app that keeps track of the baby.
"That's huge." He muttered, eyes widening slightly. I chuckled. "When she's done cooking she'll be the size of a pumpkin." "Oh god, I'm sorry." My brows furrowed, an amused look on my face. "What are you apologising for?"
"You're gonna have to lug around a pumpkin sized baby," he replied, deadly serious. I just laughed, though I wasn't particularly looking forward to that.
The months flew by and suddenly I was actually carrying a pumpkin sized baby in my stomach. At thirty seven weeks my back constantly ached, I needed to pee every five minutes, I wasn't sleeping properly since I had a future gymnast kicking around in my stomach and all in all I was just uncomfortable.
Since I could now go into labour at any second George was watching me like a hawk. Every grimace when I felt an extra strong kick, every sigh and every time my hand touched my stomach he would sit upright and just wait for me to say something.
"I'm fine, George," I'd say. "Just checking," he'd reply and that interaction would repeat itself another one hundred times before the day ended.
"I won't go if you don't want me to, Chris can find someone else last minute," George whispered as we lay in bed, my back pressed against his chest as he gently drew circles on the side of my bump. "No, I'll be okay. It's only a few hours," I mumbled back, half asleep. "Okay, just promise you'll call me if anything happens?" "Promise."
He left early the next morning to film the football video for Chris' channel, meaning I woke up alone. I went about my routine like normal though it felt like it was taking me longer to do my usual things, like I was moving at snail pace, which was slightly strange but I brushed it off.
An hour later I lay on the couch scrolling through instagram when I felt a twinge in my lower stomach. My brows furrowed slightly. "That was weird," I thought but I continued to scroll.
Until I felt it again. This time I decided to keep my promise to George and phone him. It ring a few times before he picked up. "Everything okay? Is it the baby?" He said immediately in a rushed tone. "I'm not sure, I just feel... weird."
He took in a shaky breath. "I knew I shouldn't have come today! I'm coming home." "It's fine, I'm- we're fine. Calm down-" "no no, I'll be there in twenty minutes, love you." And with that he ended the call. I sighed, feeling slightly bad that he'd had to leave the shoot but also a little relieved.
Just under twenty minutes later he burst through our apartment door. I stood in the kitchen, hands on the countertop as I took a deep breath, eyes squeezed shut. I heard his bags drop then the sound of his feet racing towards me.
"You said you just felt weird!" He placed his hand on the small of my back. I looked up at him as the pain subsided. "I did! It started getting worse after I called you."
George collected himself. "Okay okay, you're having contractions?" "Mhm, think so," I responded quietly. "How far apart?" "Like five minutes." He thought back to the birthing class we'd gone to last month. "I think we've got some time and the woman said the first kid always takes a while so let's not stress," he tried to reassure me and himself.
"I'll go get the bag, you just- uh... breathe." I chuckled softly, already calmer now that he was here. He emerged from our bedroom minutes later with the small suitcase in hand.
It took half a hour to get out of the door, drive to the hospital and get checked into a room. After that we could both relax.
The contractions weren't unbearable but I wanted the epidural as soon as possible. "Hmf-" I squeezed George's hand. "Another one?" He asked softly. All I could do was nod. "You're doing amazing sweetheart, so so good. I'm so proud of you."
Once I got the injection I felt like a million bucks. I couldn't feel the contractions, just a little bit of pressure. I sat in the bed happily as I ate my ice chips. Before I knew it, it was time to push.

"She looks just like you," I said as I watched George's eyes fill with tears, his arms secured around his daughter, just ten minutes after she'd entered the world. He glanced down at me. "I love you so much, this is officially the best day of my life," he whispered. I smiled fondly and somehow I fell in love with George all over again, in a completely different way.
We spent a day and a half in the hospital before being discharged. It had been just me, George and the baby in a little room so it felt amazing to go home. I waddled after my husband as I watched him carry our newborn -who slept soundly in her car seat- out and toward the car. He strapped her in then helped me into the backseat.
"I get what people were taking about now," I said as he stared the engine. "Huh?" "I saw a video about the 'hot dad walk' out of the hospital and I totally get them." He chuckled, though he was cautious of the sleeping baby.
After a few days and once we were in somewhat of a routine his family came over to visit. His slightly younger sister was so excited and could barely keep quiet. "She's adorable. Oh my goodness, look at her little feet!" "Okay everyone, no touching until you've washed your hands!" He announced, pointing towards the kitchen sink.
I watched with a smile on my face as he fussed over whether Maddie's head was supported, it was extremely sweet how much he cared for and loved our daughter. I couldn't wait to watch as he became the best dad ever.

babysitting the sweetheart (part one-series)
[01.04.2024]
note: i wrote this a while ago, and it will be a series!! i have the plot figured out so it will be very very fluffy. (ask to be tagged btw!!) words: 1.3k summary: you're new to town, enjoying a coffee when rafe cameron's little daughter approaches you. you'll be fine...right?
part one
quite honestly going to the normal coffee place you went to every morning was supposed to be comforting. it wasn't supposed to be the place to be attacked by a 5 year old, and it was definitely not the place where you felt like you were going to die of fear.Â
a very cute five-year-old at that, with pigtails and big blue eyes. she bounced up and down, with a big wobbly smile on her face. she had a pink princess dress on and a tiara that was bound to fall.Â
you were mid-bite before she caught your hand.Â
"can i have some? please, please, please," she pleaded to you. you choked on your hot coffee and watched struggle to her plop herself onto one of the high chairs.Â
you searched for her parents, and then gave her a small tentative smile, before gently asking the question that was on your mind.Â
"honey, where are your parents?"Â
she quickly wilted, and you swore there were tears in her eyes,Â
"i can't find my daddy. he told me not to go far but i didn't listen and now i might never find my daddy," she gasped out quickly.Â
now you were alert, gritting your teeth and searching your surroundings. your few months in kildare had been nice, and it was the best place to rest and take some time off. but everything was so goddamn expensive. you'd never lived so lavishly, wearing the same clothes for weeks on end.Â
this was supposed to be your new start, as you cleaned tables at night, and tried to write music during the day. you had always wanted to be an artist, and the beachy waves and cool lemonade persuaded you to continue.Â
but with this little girl in front of you, you felt panicked. you turned around to look around once again before you set your eyes on her - she was sobbing, clutching her necklace that had the initial 'r,' on it.Â
fat tears rolled down her face, and before you knew it you were carrying her off, embracing her in your arms and buying her two marshmallow cupcakes.
honestly, the barista was nicer to her than he was ever nice to you.Â
you made sure to tease him about that later, but now you had other things on your mind.Â
"so what does he look like?" you asked her again.Â
she pouted and let out a cry. then she got up, wiping her tears before stretching her arm in the air.
"wee tall, and this big, and he's my daddy."Â
"it's okay!" you said quickly, cursing yourself for asking the little five-year-old. "we'll find him, you couldn't have gone that far-"Â
"wait! that's my daddy, it's him-" and then jumped out of his arm to the shadowy figure behind you.Â
"i-"Â
the figure picked her up, clutching her tightly. he was drop-dead gorgeous. you wondered how a man could be damn hot. with broad shoulders, dirty blonde buzzed hair and blue eyes that had an unhealthy hold on you.Â
one, he was young to be a father, two he was pissed.Â
the owner of the cafe suddenly burst out of the kitchen, "mr. cameron! what a delight to have you here. let me show you around-"
yet, he completely ignored him, kissing her daughter, and then looked up at you. he gave you a look that you'd given a mosquito.
"who the hell are you?" he seethed through gritted teeth, eyes set on your face. you felt beads of sweat drip down your forehead. okay, okay, calm down.Â
"hey, listen-"Â
"daddy!"
he stopped in his tracks, to look down at the little girl. he smiled at her softly, gently tracing her face.Â
"hey love, where did you go? you know you should go off on your own," he told her gently, brushing away her stray hairs. he looked as if she was his whole world. she gave him a giddy smile and then pointed at the cupcake you had given you.Â
her cheeks were full like chipmunks, and she looked way too adorable.Â
"she saved me."Â
suddenly he peered up at you, eyes squinted with an emotion you couldn't figure out. but then he went cold, giving you a small nod.Â
you felt shivers travel all the way down to your spine.Â
you felt like you should have known him because he had this aura. that he was important, and something in you wanted to please him. to make him happy, but you knew there was no winning with him.Â
you were so lost in his eyes, that you noticed the strange look he was giving you.Â
"thank you, ms-?" he prompted, his voice cold as ice.Â
"uh, [last name]," you stammered out, feeling a bit off balance under his piercing gaze.
"well, thank you for looking after my daughter," he said, his voice softening slightly as he shifted his attention back to the little girl in his arms.
then he turned away, with his little girl nestled near his chest. while they turned around, she furiously waved at you, blowing air kisses. you found yourself smiling uncontrollably.Â
your coffee was cold by the time you got to it.Â
x
you scooted into your job, working at the local convenient job was embarrassing. it took hours for anything to happen, and the pay...
the pay was horrible!Â
"it's time for your shift," jared commented, scrolling through his phone. he was a total tool who worked at the store to learn "life skills." his parents lived on figure eight, and were loaded.Â
you trudged out there and found yourself at the cashier.Â
"hi, ms. carrera!" you found yourself saying, serving your customers.Â
the hours passed and you lay in the break room to rest.Â
jared was still on his phone. here you were again, life sucked, and your phone was ringing. you got up, looking at the cracked screen.Â
you had dropped it at least a million times.Â
it was an unknown number, but who knew? you picked it up anyways.Â
"hello?"Â
"i'm going to pay you 10k a month."Â
you stared dumbly into the phone and then started laughing.Â
"uh huh, and get me the newest phone right?
"if that's what it takes."Â
you found yourself giggling now, balancing the phone on your shoulder as you opened yourself some ice cream.Â
"i'm sorry, who is this?" you asked while juggling your ice cream on your lap. you noticed that jared was watching you.Â
"rafe cameron. you found my daughter the other day. i'd like to offer you a deal." he said, voice muffled.Â
his tone was sharp was ever, but you could hear the knowing smirk, and that made you want to roll your eyes. but there was something about that low voice that made you shiver.Â
"so...mr. cameron, what is 10k a month about?" you murmured into your phone and began to chip away at the ice cream. it was way cold, and your spoon nearly bent as you tried to scoop it into your mouth.Â
"babysit my daughter lucy. if she's trouble, which i expect she will be," he laughed into the phone, "i'll double it."Â
you could barely what you were hearing. he had to shitting you.Â
"how about 15k and the phone?" you pressed, trying not to giggle. he was going to end the call now, you could feel it.Â
"fine. i'll send the times and the address."Â
it was here he hung the call.Â
holy shit!

lovesick âą hoseok's pov ch 5
â a/n: thank you so much to anon for this commission!! â€ïž this is hoseok's pov from when the mc visits his shop all the way back in chapter five of lovesick. i hope you enjoy! â word count: 2.7k â content warning: yandere behavior, stalker behavior, allusions to kidnapping. â Lovesick Masterlist
Hoseok flips the cloth in his hand, sighing, as he scrubs at a particularly difficult stain. He knew that wooden counters wouldn't necessarily be the easiest thing to keep clean when he picked them out for the shop, but his employees had convinced him that some things just had to be done for the aesthetic. He finds himself deeply regretting being swayed by that now. There's no way he'll be able to clean up the rest of the storre in time for closing and that means he'll have to stay behind, once again missing his window to watch his soulmate cook dinner.
Hoseok's brows furrow as he remembers the steel chain he noticed last time he tried to venture up on the building that's across from yours, the door to the roof suddenly locked.
He will have to pick up some bolt cutters soon to get his vantage point back.
It was just by chance that Hoseok had tried the door leading up to it a few months ago, desperate for even a glimpse of his soulmate. He had no idea if your apartment even faced the street but by a stroke of luck (or perhaps, fate), the roof offered him a direct line of sight into your kitchen â making it the perfect place to watch you as you make dinner. You seemed to mostly be a creature of habit too, which made it easy for Hoseok to time just when he needed to be there.
Hoseok pushes his rolled-up sleeves further above his elbow, putting more force behind his movements as he works on the stubborn spot.
Someone must have seen him up there or heard him walk around if they decided to block it off, and that just won't do. He'll have to figure out a way to keep that door permanently open and accessible. He won't be denied the chance to admire you from afar. It's the thought of seeing you that keeps him going day after day, one tedious shift after another.
Hoseok is mulling every possible option over in his head when he suddenly hears the sound of footsteps moving closer.
Startled, he looks up, expecting to see another middle-aged man rushing in just before closing because he 'forgot' his anniversary and needs a last-minute gift for his wife.
Instead, Hoseok is greeted with the wondrous sight of you walking up to him, a tentative smile on your face. For all the times he has watched you from afar, it's nothing compared to seeing you this close â feeling your presence in the same room.Â
His heart is pounding as he drinks you in, the subtle scent of your perfume just tickling his nose from where you're standing on the opposite side of the counter.
You're the most beautiful creature Hoseok has ever laid his eyes upon. He truly can't do anything else but grin as he's gifted with your appearance. It seems that fate is smiling upon him today.
Hoseok quickly chucks the cloth under the counter, into the bucket below. He uses his apron to dry off the dampness on his skin, internally cursing that he didn't have time to make himself look more presentable for you.
âWelcome to Hope chocolaterie! How may I help you today?â Hoseok asks. Fondness seeps into his voice as he looks at you, colouring his tone with more warmth than he normally bestows upon anyone.
Hoseok watches as your smile falters, your eyes rapidly scanning over the display between you until something seems to catch your gaze. A sliver of surprise passes over your face so quickly Hoseok would've been sure to miss it if he wasn't looking, but there is nothing that captures his attention more than you.
The elation he felt as you walked into the store quickly flips to concern as you let out a choked cough, your voice strained as you ask about one of the shop's gift boxes.
"We do have quite a few people coming in to buy them every day, but it's not the most popular gift box we have," Hoseok shrugs.Â
He uses the opportunity to lean against the counter, feigning sheepishness in order to smell more of your gentle, tantalizing scent. âItâs, well, mainly older men who buy them in a poor attempt to win over their wives after theyâve done something stupid.â
For some reason Hoseok can't fathom, the answer seems to make you uncomfortable. A bout of panic washes over him as he realizes you might leave now that you know, that you might walk out of his shop with a strained impression of him just because his self-restraint slipped.
âWould you like to try some?â Hoseok gestures to the display, desperate to salvage the conversation in any way that he can. He won't let those sorry excuses for men taint his first real meeting with his soulmate.
âNo, thank you,â You wave him off, your voice cracking, âYouâre closing soon, I donât want to keep you.â
âYouâre not!â Hoseok's mind races as he tries to come up with a plausible excuse to have you stay longer, âWe tend to get a lot of late shoppers so our opening times are never set in stone. And we always offer new customers free samples â itâs part of our policy.â
It's just a quick glance, your gaze barely lingering on the display before moving back to him, but Hoseok knows that is enough if he just pushes a little more. He knows you.
So, he leans one arm on the counter, upping the theatrics a little as he whispers loudly, âThe boss will get upset if you refuse, I could lose my job over this!â
âArenât you the boss?â
Hoseok is nothing short of delighted to learn that you actually know who he is; that some part of you still found him interesting enough to remember his face even though you're unaware of the bond.
He rests a hand over his heart, trying to calm the rapid pace of it as he says, âI sure am! And as the owner, I do insist that you try a few bites. Itâll hurt my feelings if you donât.â
You give in easily, just like Hoseok suspected you would.
He wastes no time in grabbing a plate, picking out a small selection of the chocolates he has a feeling you'll like. He takes extra care as he plates the one shaped like a heart, his most special creation so far. It was created with you in mind, all of his best ingredients and talent going into making it as perfect as possible â as perfect as you.
âHere you go, I picked out a few I think you'll like!â
Your fingers brush against Hoseok's as you take the plate with a soft thank you. The bond makes itself known as you touch, a spark of electricity buzzing up the length of Hoseok's arm, all the way to his heart. The short moment of contact is enough to force all of Hoseok's deepest wants and desires up to the surface, the itch under his skin urging him to take, take, take.
Hoseok grips the counter tightly, making sure the pleasant mask on his face doesn't slip. He shouldn't do anything rash right now, not when the bond made you so surprised. It's not time, not yet.
He watches silently as you shake off the feeling, taking stock of the plate in your hand before you go straight for the one shaped like a heart.
Hoseok holds his breath as you pop it into your mouth, a myriad of emotions flickering across your face as you take in the different flavors and how they pair together. He knows you'll like it, that the bond won't steer him wrong, but he still feels a small surge of relief as he sees your eyes sparkle at the taste.
Hoseok chuckles, proud, as he says, âItâs good, right? We didnât win all of those awards for nothing.â
Frankly, Hoseok has never cared much for empty compliments, letting them go in one ear and out the other. But hearing your sweet words of praise as you try out the different pieces is enough to make him feel like he's floating, his body positively thrumming with happiness.Â
Hoseok's heavy gaze never strays from your mouth as you eat, intent to commit every twitch of your lips to memory. Once you're done, he leans back on his heels, a quiet anticipation buzzing under his skin as he finally asks, âSo, do you have any favourites? Are there any flavours that stood out to you?â
âThey were all really good,â You respond, âHm, but I think I prefer the first one, the heart, the most.â
Hoseok's own heart picks up speed at that, a smug satisfaction washing over him as he takes in how earnest you are. He knew it. It's only right that you would like that one the most, that your soul would recognize the care and love Hoseok poured into its creation.
âReally?â Hoseok grins, "Itâs a recent addition, but I thought you might like that one the best!â
As Hoseok reaches forward to take the plate back, he notices your gaze straying down to his chest, to the golden chain that has slipped out from his shirt. He swiftly tucks it back beneath his shirt, patting down the dark fabric to make sure it doesnât slip out again as he disposes of your empty plate.
Hoseok had been too blinded by your presence before, too caught up in marveling at your face, to really take stock of what you're wearing. Your coat has been slipped off since you entered, revealing your bare collarbones and wrists.
That can't be right.
âYou donât wear any jewelry?â He asks flatly, eyebrows rising at the sight of your unadorned skin.
The fact that you're not wearing any of his gifts leaves a bitter sting, something displeased and heavy building steadily in the pit of his stomach.
You shake your head, âOnly on special occasions. Iâm too clumsy and forgetful to use it on a daily basis, I would just end up either losing or ruining everything I own.â
Oh.
You must adore his gifts so much that you can't bear the thought of losing them.
The anger dissipates just as quickly as it arrives, the hard lines on Hoseok's face softening as he says, âSo you do it to protect your jewelry, then.â
âI-I, well, yeah I guess so."
The small stutter is adorable and the sudden shyness as you advert your eyes, from what Hoseok can only assume is you embarrassed of letting him know that you care, just makes him all the more fond.
âI would really like to buy a box of those heart-shaped chocolates if itâs not too late.â
Hoseok smiles as you try to divert his attention.
"Of course not!" He obliges easily, all too happy to send you home with a box filled with chocolates that he made specifically just for you.
Hoseok pauses his movements as you suddenly clear your throat, his gaze snapping from the display to your face instantly. He watches as you tilt your head toward the box you asked about earlier, âDo you happen to have any regulars who buy that gift box often?â
It's an odd question and Hoseok finds it even more peculiar that it's still lingering on your mind.
âWhy would you like to know?â Hoseok frowns, the silver tongs in his hand snapping closed with a sharp sound as he drops the piece of chocolate he was holding.
Something uneasy passes over your face, a shadow clouding your normally bright eyes as you admit, âThe thing is, Iâve been receiving that particular gift box for months, but I have no idea whoâs been giving them to me."
Hoseok feels his stomach flip, an ugly feeling taking over as you continue, âI really want to thank them but thatâs impossible when I donât know whoâs behind them. They take the secret in secret admirer a little too seriously."
The airy giggle you let out sounds forced. Fake. Hoseok knows you're lying to him, that you're not enjoying the attention this 'secret admirer' is giving you. This person must be out of their mind trying to court his soulmate. Hoseok has never noticed anyone suspicious entering your building whenever he's been watching you, but the window is too small. There's too much time in the day where he isn't there, where he has no clue who's entering or exiting.
Hoseok is nothing short of livid that this has been happening right under his nose for months and he had no idea until just now.
âA secret admirer, huh?â
A humourless smirk tugs at Hoseok's lips as he turns back to the container in his hand, resuming his work of finishing up the box you ordered. Heâs clutching the silver tongs so hard that they groan under his grip as he picks up the last piece, the edges of the chocolate beginning to crack before he shoves it into place with the rest.
He slides the box across the counter, letting out a controlled, slow breath through his nose as he turns to the cash register. He can't let you know just how much this upsets him, not when you're supposed to be strangers. He'll just have to figure out a way to deal with this quietly and quickly.
Hoseok uses a little more force than intended as he rings you up, his brewing anger making his fingers hammer against the touch screen. He makes sure to give you a hefty discount, knowing that there's no way you would ever accept it for free. You're just too kind to do something like that.
Hoseok already knows that you would be worried about something silly like him not being able to pay himself or his employees if he gives it to you for free. While he does admire your selflessness, Hoseok is determined to make you see that being a little selfish is fine. You deserve to take and not just give.
You swipe your card, keeping your eyes on the machine until it confirms your payment.
Hoseok doesn't want your interaction to end just yet but he's out of excuses to keep you in the shop longer. If he drags it out too much, you'll start getting suspicious. You are a very clever woman, after all.
Still, Hoseok can't help himself, desperate for another minute of breathing the same air as you as he says, âI canât help you with that Iâm afraid, I donât keep track of what my customers buy."
He shakes his head, dispelling the thoughts that are shouting at him to not let you walk out that door, to keep you with him where it's safe.
âButââ Hoseok adds, crossing his arms over his chest to restrain himself, "If itâs that important to you to figure out who it is then I guess I can keep an eye out and note down the customers who buy them frequently.â
"Really?! Thank you so much!" Your relief is palpable, the twinkle in your gaze once again returning.
All because of him.
"Just note down your information here and I'll contact you if anything comes up."
"I really appreciate that, thank you," You say, flashing him a sweet smile as you write down your name and number.
It pains Hoseok to stick to his resolve as you bid him goodbye, his body and soul itching to not let you go. He returns your smile despite his urge to grimace, wishing you well even though he'd rather stick to your side to ensure that it does.
The moment you're out of sight, Hoseok's kind smile drops.
He's furious that your first meeting was marred by some secret admirer who doesn't know their place; that you're so disturbed by it that you even went to his shop in hopes that you might figure out who it is. Hoseok doesn't believe for a second that you want to thank them, it's clear that you just want them gone.
He won't let anyone come between your bond â he won't let anyone mess with his soulmate.
Maybe it is time for Hoseok to step up his game. And if he can't figure out who it is then, well, he can always remove you from the situation and bring you somewhere safe.
Somewhere it'll only be you and him.
Yes, Hoseok thinks, picking up the discarded cloth to once again scrub at the difficult spot on the counter, That's his best plan yet.

Things Overheard
Pairing: Dean Winchester x F. Reader
Summary: Dean overhears a private conversation between you and Sam
Word Count: 2k
Warnings: Cursing (8x), Mutual Pining & Lots of fluff, Smut (but no graphic descriptions of it â I use the phrasing âgetting yourself off,â but thatâs the extent of the smut description), Body image talks
Authors Note: Dreams are in italics | I included the smut warning even though itâs like super brief and not graphic in description whatsoever | Plus size reader fic | If you liked this, donât forget to like & reblog. I really appreciate it! Feedback is always welcome âĄ
Dean has known you for five years, and during those five years, he had fallen more and more in love with you. There was nothing about you that he didn't love. He loved hearing you hum whenever you were cleaning your guns or baking something in the kitchen; he loved hearing you sing in the shower when he walked past the bathroom; he loved the way you would do your full body laugh whenever him or Sam said something funny. But he especially loved when you would quietly mumble to yourself while you read.
But as much as he had loved you, and as much as he wanted to be with you more than anything, he knew that he could never have you unless it was in his dreams.
You were straddling him; your hands on his chest as he gripped your waist. You slowly rocked against him, trying to get yourself off as he barely moved a muscle. One of his hands went to your hair, tucking it behind your ear, and you gave him the softest of smiles. "You're so fucking beautiful," he whispered.
You leaned down, cupping his face between your hands and captured his lips with yours. He pulled you closer, fully wrapping his arms around your waist now. "And I'm all yours," you whispered in his ear.
When Dean woke up, he looked over to see you sleeping peacefully next to him; still wearing one of his sweatpants and t-shirts that he had let you borrow months ago that he knew he would never be getting back (and he was okay with that, as you looked better in them anyway).
Waking up next to you wasn't an uncommon occurrence, as you tended to migrate to his room sometimes during the night because of a nightmare you might of had, or accidentally falling asleep while the two of you were watching a movie the night before.
He laid back down, and simply just stared at you; admiring you as you slept. Even with your messy hair, he still thought you were the most beautiful woman in the world.
Dean had to restrain himself, as all he wanted to do was reach out and brush your hair away from your face. But all he did was smile at you, as that was the most he could do.
You started to stir just then, and Dean quickly shut his eyes, pretending that he was still sleeping when you woke. One of the last things he had needed was for you to call him some creep for watching you sleep (even though he had found it strangely comforting watching you).
When you woke up, you stretched your arms and turned over to see that Dean was still sound asleep; but wasn't snoring like he normally was. You stared at him for a moment, admiring the way he looked when he slept, how peaceful he seemed. You couldn't help but wonder what he was dreaming about.
You had to restrain yourself from reaching your hand out to touch his cheek; to run your fingers along his jawline (which was one of your favorite features on him). But you knew there was no way you could possibly do that in a remotely friendly way. So, you did the next best thing and kissed his forehead. Dean always managed to make it friendly, so why couldn't you? "See you later Tiger," you whispered, and quietly got out of bed, shutting the door to his bedroom gently behind you.
Dean sighed, opening his eyes once again when you shut the door behind you. He wanted your lips to linger there just a little bit longer. It took all that he had not to just open his eyes right there and just cup your face and kiss you.
Getting up from the bed, he started to make his way toward his bedroom door but stopped, when it sounded like you and Sam were whispering right outside his bedroom door.
âI donât mean to be nosey but ââ Sam begun, but you quickly cut him off.
âOf course you mean to be nosey,â you interjected; and Dean had to stop himself from laughing at your response.
Sam scoffed. âOkay, fair,â he said. âBut seriously, whatâs going on with you two? You spend more time in his room than you do your own.â
âIs that a problem?â You asked. Of course itâs not a problem, Dean thought.
âNo but, itâs just got me wondering if youâre ever going to tell him how you actually feel about him,â Sam said. How she actually feels? He wondered. âI mean, I have a pretty strong suspicion that my brother feels exactly the same way you do.â
You sighed. âHe doesnât love me like that Sam. He loves me like the sister heâs never had, the same way you do.â
Sam half chuckled. âTrust me. I love you, I seriously do. But itâs strictly platonic. DeanâŠnot so much.â All Dean could picture was that confused expression on your face right now. âSeriously? You seriously donât see the way he looks at you?â
âI meanâŠâ your voice trailed off.
âOr how his hugs tend to linger just a little bit longer?â Sam asked.
âI meanâŠâ you sighed again. âLook, I canât risk saying anything okay? So justâŠâ you huffed off, and he heard you fast paced walking down the hall; a second later he heard your bedroom door close.
You laid there staring up at the ceiling of your bedroom, thinking back on the things that Sam had said to you in the hallway; praying that Dean hadnât woken up and overheard you, as that was the last thing you had needed or wanted him to hear.
As long as youâve known Dean (which was a little over five years), you always had this kind of schoolgirl crush on him that eventually turned into full blown love for the man. You knew that you shouldnât, as the work you did was dangerous, unpredictable; but you couldnât help the way you felt.
There was a knocking at the door, and you sighed, hoping that it wasnât Sam. âWho is it?â You asked.
âDean,â the voice replied. âCan I come in?â He asked.
âYeah,â you smiled, quickly changing positions so you were now sitting up in bed. Dean opened the door and stepped inside, still wearing his pajamas that he was in when you woke up this morning. Without having to say it, he closed the door behind him. âWhatâs up?â
âCan we talk?â He asked, and you felt your heart sink. Did he hear what Sam and I were talking about this morning? You thought. Shit.
âSureâŠâ you replied with hesitation. âYou can come sit too,â you said, patting a spot on your bed.
He smiled at you one of those genuine type smiles he always seemed to reserve for only you, and sat down on the bed a few feet away; but close enough that you could reach out and touch him if you wanted to. âSo, Iâm not sure how to really start this conversation.â
Your heart began to sink even further. But at the same time, it was beating unbelievably fast like it would bust out your chest in seconds. âDid you hear Sam and I talking outside your door this morning?â You spat out.
âYeah,â he answered; and your palms have never been so sweaty. âThatâs actually what I came in here to talk about.â
âYou donât have to,â you said, trying to quickly change the subject, as you felt a rejection coming; a rejection that you werenât necessarily prepared to deal with right now. Yes, you knew that he didnât have romantic feelings for you, but you werenât prepared to have this conversation this early in the morning, and especially after having a fun night watching movies together in his bedroom. âI know you donât feel the same way I do, trust me.â
Dean couldnât help but give you a confused expression. âY/N, what makes you think I donât?â He asked, genuinely curious when it came to hearing your thoughts.
You started twiddling your thumbs, refusing to look at him. âI justâŠI donât knowâŠI figured I wasnât your type,â you confessed, mumbling. Almost so inaudible that he almost couldnât even hear you.
âWhat do you think my type is?â He asked. He didnât really think he necessarily had a type. Then again, you and Sam would probably beg to differ on that account.
âThin and supermodel like,â you said, still mumbling and still refusing to look him in the eye. It killed him that you refused to look at him; because one of his favorite things was looking into those Y/E/C eyes of yours. âI know Iâm not super thin, or have the looks of a supermodel I meanâŠI like food,â you slightly chuckled. âI got a muffin top even though I workout everyday. My arms and legs arenât toned. I donât haveâŠa huge chest I meanâŠâ thatâs when you finally looked up at him, but there was sadness in your eyes. âIâve seen the girls you flirt with. Theyâre the complete opposite of me. I mean, you flirted with me when we first met but I honestly thought you were just being nice and trying to add another person to your body count list.â
He just stared at you, slightly heartbroken that you had felt that way. He hated that you felt that way about yourself, because that was the complete opposite of how he felt. âSweetheart, youâre fucking beautiful to me,â he said, his tone not the least bit joking. âYouâre basically my dream girl.â
You furrowed your brow, obviously not believing his words. âI highly doubt that. Cause if youâre my dream man, I ainât your dream girl.â
Dean smirked. âIâm your dream man uh?â
âObviously,â you confessed. âYouâre always so kind to me and others. And you actually make me feel like I matter.â
âYou do matter Sweetheart,â he said, finally reaching out for your hand and taking it in his. âYou matter so much to me.â
âBut as a sister,â you added.
âNo. Not even remotely,â he corrected.
âIâm not following,â you said, furrowing your brow again with that stable confused expression on your face.
âSweetheartâŠâ he took a deep breath, trying to gather his words. âYou matter so much to me that it fucking scares me sometimes. Yeah youâre family butâŠI love you more than a sister,â he told you. âAnd the way I just phrased that sounded a lot more creepy than I intended that to sound, but I hope you know that Iâm saying here.â
âI think soâŠâ you trailed off.
âI love you romantically not like sisterly,â he said, trying his best to make his feelings clear. âAnd, Iâve felt like this for a long time. SinceâŠfuck, five years?â
âFive years?â You exclaimed, unsure if you had heard him right. He nodded. âFive years? Youâve been in love with me for five years?â
âYeahâŠâ it was his turn now to look down and not look at you. âI justâŠI donât know. I didnât want to fuck anything up cause I love hunting with you and I love having you here at the Bunker. And I honestly didnât want to picture what life would be like without you anymore cause Iâm so fucking used to you being here.â
âI didnât want to fuck anything up either,â you admitted. âI love living here and I love working with you boys andâŠI didnât want to go back to how my life was before meeting you two, before meeting you especially.â
âYouâre one of the best things to ever happen to me, you know that?â Dean said, sharing the same sentiments.
âLikewise,â you said, the two of you smiling in unison.
âIf itâs okay with you, Iâm gonna kiss you now. That forehead kiss you gave me this morning wasnât enough for me,â he admitted, his voice sounding slightly embarrassed.
âYes you can kiss me. And you can kiss me wherever and whenever you like to,â you smiled, and his lips turned into a smirk.
âWherever uh?â He winked.

Chapter Synopsis:
Kenji still doesn't know that you've bonded with him, considering him as your mate from there on out. What he does, however, is take a bath with you as he inches on the edge of being the father of a cute giant pink baby lizard; where he makes the decision of keeping you around too. Just enough to investigate about your possible human personality, of course.

The Legend of the Blue Sea: Masterlist
Episode 2: Once Upon a Dream ⟠Episode 3.1: Maybe This Time
âMom? MomâŠâ Kenji sobs, there are small sounds of pit-a-pats from where he stood. Which was a community playground filled with colourful slides, swing sets, tubes, and sandboxes.
The playground however, was not as lively as youâd think. The weather was gloomy that day, the sun hiding behind rumbling clouds threatening to spill the water theyâve soaked up from the sea. Kenji kept looking around, yet he remained lost, the same as he was five minutes ago. To the seven-year-old boy, it was like five months.
âHi,â a girlish voice cuts through the sobs of the only other kid around. âWhy are you crying? The other kids here say that boys arenât supposed to cry.â
Kenji frowns, lips still wobbling as he makes his reply. âI lost my momâŠâ
âOh.â You hum, looking down at your mismatched socks, noticing how the boy visibly had brand-new sneakers. âHmm⊠Donât worry, I lost mine too.â
âReally?â The boy replies, nose still stuffy as he tries to wipe it with his sleeve. âWill they find us?â
You shrug. âMy real one wonât find me.â
âYour real one? You have a fake mom?â Kenji asks, curious.
âI donât know. I never met my real one.â You reply, walking to the swings and taking a seat. Kenji does the same, sitting next to you. âBut I know my mom right now isnât my real mom, so, I ran away.â You say all this with such a tone that didnât contain much sadness; as if it was just a normal thing to do so.
âWhat? Why?â Your feet kick yourself off the ground, allowing you to move back and forth. Kenji follows suit, trying to match your force. Once he got the hang of it, he continues. âAre you not scared?â
âI am. But they donât want me, I think.â
There are a few seconds of silence as Kenji could no longer spark up a reply. All you both could do was swing on the set together. Feeling like he has to say something, Kenji blurts out the first thing that came to mind.
âMy dad said I should love kaiju even if he fights them.â
âWoah! Your dad fights the giants?!â You exclaim, digging the heels of your red shoes on the dirt below. Kenji only nods at this. His swing keeps going. âI think the kaiju are super cool. And Mr. Ultraman too. Is your dad Ultraman?â
âDad says itâs a secret.â Kenji replies with a pout.
âThen, would you love a kaiju?â
The question makes Kenji stop, the swing set back in its still state as you stare at each otherâs eyes.Â
âBaka! Why would I loveââ Kenji stops, your eyes remain wide and curious. And despite the stormy weather, they still chose to shine. A heat creeps up from his neck up to the tips of his ears for reasons beyond him.Â
â...Iâm, maybe?â He trails off, breaking your intense eye contact. He then mutters, unsure and low:âIf theyâre cute enough, why not?â
Before you could respond, however, you two started feeling the rain slowly drop down, seconds before it turned into a downpour.Â
âAh! Itâs raining!â Kenji exclaims. Without saying anything, you grab the boyâs hand, leading him into the plastic tube to hide from the rain.
âWe can hide here while you wait for your mom.â You assure, you and Kenji sitting with your knees bent to hug yourself better. Every other second, you scoot closer to each other, trying to get warm from the cold breeze picking up.
Itâs a few minutes more of silence, maybe ten or so, that Kenji felt like crying again. You heard sniffles from beside you, making you tilt your head to see his glassy eyes, tears brimming the edges.
âDummy, are you going to cry again?â
âI miss my mom and dadâŠâ Kenji says quietly, digging his face into the caps of his knees.
You breathe out through your nose, feeling bad for the boy.
âHere, face me.âÂ
Kenji hums, still upset as he does what heâs told.
âYou canât be sad after this, okay?â You say as you lean in and Kenji felt your lips meet his. âThere. That means Iâll be around when your mom and dad arenât. So, stop crying okay, dummy?â
âYouâll⊠be around when mom and dad arenât?â Kenji says after the brief kiss, not really processing what just happened. Both your cheeks and nose were a mix of warmth from each other, and cold from the rain.
âYes.â Kenji continues to look at you curiously, waiting for more context.
âMy mom and dad right now say thatâs how married people are. They stay together even if no one else is around.â
You point your small finger to his face, he looks at it then back at your unyielding gaze.
âEspecially if no one else is around.â You share the valuable piece of knowledge with Kenji who soaked it all in like you were a prophet. He nods slowly.
âThen, weâre married?â
âYes.â
âOkay.â
The conversation ends as you two bask in silence again. This time, Kenji is the one to look over at you, staring at your sombre look towards the passersby covering their children with their umbrella; carrying them on their arms to avoid them getting wet. Your expression barely changes, but the way your eyes lidded lower.. it compelled Kenji enough to hold your hand, shocking you.
âHey! Whatâs wrong with you?â You ask, mostly out of shock. But you donât let go.
âIâll be here too.âÂ
You realise heâd been staring at you when he said that, making you turn away, resuming your waiting game as you squeezed his hand lightly. He squeezes back. The rain somehow felt more mellow.
Half an hour later, Kenjiâs mom arrives at the playground with his dad, ushering him to their car. As Kenji was about to point towards you, he sees you running through the rain, cutting a corner, before disappearing out of his sight.
âWhat is it, Ken?â Emi Sato asks, carrying the boy in her arms as she checks for injuries, now in the backseat of their car. She glances towards where her sonâs eyes were fixated, seeing nothing but the empty playground.
Kenji only shook his head, choosing to say nothing. All he could think about now was when heâll meet the person he married again.
âWere you lonely, Ken?â His mother asks. He perks up to look back towards his motherâs worried gaze.
Thereâs only one answer dripping from the tip of his tongue, his hand tingling in warmth, remembering the soft embrace it had just minutes prior.Â
âNoâŠâ
ââââââââââââââââ
Your lips were soft against Kenjiâs slightly chapped ones, both your bodies stuck in the motion of the accidental kiss. There was a small spark of electricity that climbed up from the bottom of your spines, a tingle that's much too noticeable.
It was merely six seconds.Â
Kenji would know.Â
He counted.Â
Six seconds for you to pull away, five of you just staring into the otherâs similarly wide orbs; four for Kenji to catch a whiff of that addicting scent he never noticed until now, and three before your eyes finally drooped, your head nuzzling his chest. Kenji's plain white shirt getting wet alongside with it before he feels your whole frame lose its tension, breathing resuming its slow and quiet rhythm.
Kenji remains quiet, his brain absolutely fried, staring straight ahead as he sits to support your weight, comparatively light for the athlete and occasional superhero, especially now that you werenât a giant. His hands hover over the smooth expanse of your bare back, his legs spread, lightly encaging your snoozing figure. His mouth still ajar, not a word slipping from him.
Eventually, his hands meet the damp skin of your shoulder and the middle of your back, pushing your figure against him even more. He supports your head that was now resting on his shoulder, even as your hair lightly tickles his ear.
âKen.â
The sudden call of his name from Mina finally releases him from whatever trance he was in. Almost forgetting the giant baby kaiju a few metres away from him who, surprisingly, had settled down; sitting on its hind, watching you and him with a curious gaze.
âI⊠Uh, yes. Sorry. Uhm,â He clears his throat. âCould you fetch us a towel, Mina?â
It takes only a minute before the ground next to him opened up, a mechanical hand holding the extra white towel was handed to the boy, who takes it wordlessly, working to wrap it around you as delicately as he possibly could. Taking note of your legs and arms littered in bruises and quite nasty wounds.
âIâll take her to my room, watch over the baby for a minute.â Kenji says. âIâll prepare the guest room tomorrow.â
âSure, Ken.â
Once you were wrapped in the soft cotton, Kenji moved to carry you in his arms effortlessly, though he winces every now and then when he rotates his left shoulder a little too much, though it wasnât that big a deal compared to your injuries. While walking, he would glance at your face, peacefully asleep as if you werenât even hurt at all. He notes that your eyelashes were the same colour as your hair and eyes, that is, theyâre all prismatic in nature; and with the absence of light, there is the absence of colour, where he understands your features much better.
Kenji arrives at his bedroom, setting you down gently on his king-sized bed, turning the duvet so that it covers you, he doesnât think much of his sheets getting damp from your hair.Â
You remain unmoving, both hands rested on your stomach. Kenji finally takes a deep breath in as he drops his weight to the apex of his feet, crouching as he really takes in what happened.Â
His hands covers his face; lightly messing his hair in the process as an unexplainable heat pushes its way up from his chest.
Apparently, what happened smelled like Hinoki Wood and Yuzu.
âKen, your father is waiting outside the door. It seems he has driven here in a haste.â
âMinâ Shhh,â He chastises, stopping mid-call to lower his voice.Â
âIâll get to it.â He whispers in reply.
Easily enough, heâs getting off his feet and shutting his door closed as he made his way to the front door. On the way, he starts hearing distant music and giggles from downstairs, along with flashing lights.
âMina!â Ken calls out from the living room. âWhatâs going on?â
âThe baby had begun fussing two minutes after you two went upstairs, I have discovered that she is currently happy with Doraemonâ
Kenji sighs, âOkay, but keep it down a little. Dad might suspect something.â
âBut there is something.â Mina replies.
âShut it, Mina.â He interjects, Mina doesnât reply, knowing that Kenji particularly has a difficult situation with his father.
Kenji opens the door, looking back to regard if the lights are still on, just as he looks to see that his dad was about to knock.
âKenji,â his dad almost whispers, a relieved undertone transfixed in the simple call of his name.
In haste, he runs his hand through his hair, ears still catching the tunes playing in the basement.
âDad, hey. Hey, whatâs up?â Kenji leans in, slyly closing the door a little bit more, giving worried glances towards the glass elevator before giving his minute focus back towards his father. âHow about that game tonight?â He plays dumb.
âOh, thank God. Youâre okay?â His father fusses.
âYeah, you know. Iâm good.â He allows a little bit more of his body to show that he really was good. âIt was a tough battle. Iâm a little sore, still recovering, butââ
Suddenly, a screech that Kenji knew was from the baby kaiju pierced through the air, making him reel back in defence behind the front door. His dad, the invader, moving a pace forward like a rook on a chess board made it easy for Kenji to spot the suspicion on his face.
âWhat was that?â
âUhâŠâ He needs to come up with somethingâ âUh, you know. Itâs⊠UhâŠâ Suddenly, the lights behind him visibly changes. Green, blue, pinkâÂ
âThatâs the.. The party downstairs.â He jives along.
Kenji fails to notice the swift change, the quirk of his fatherâs eyebrows. âThe most magnificent creature on Earth has died. The last of its kind.â With each word, his fatherâs words become more punctuated with anger, hands flailing along with it.
âAnd you throw a party!?âÂ
Red. For a brief second or two, Kenjiâs mind, his thoughts, were clouded in red; an emotion quickly visible in his face and body.Â
âThat magnificent creature nearly took my head off, Dad.âÂ
This time, each word was not only punctuated in anger, but stomps that slowly but surely made his father back away from the shelter of Kenjiâs patio, the rain dripping on the old man who could only recede and listen to his enraged son.
âIâve barely seen you in twenty years. You chose this city and literal monsters over us.â
âNoâŠâ
âThen, you get hurt, canât hack it anymore, and I get to come back and clean up the mess you made asâŠâ Kenji raises his hands in mockery as he sings the branded tune the masses had placed upon his famous counterpart. âDa, da, da, da! Ultraman.â
âïżœïżœWhich I only did because Mom begged me.â Kenji pauses. âAnd youâre more worried about the monster. Classic.âÂ
With eyes that sheened in a way that scratches at Kenjiâs nerves, his father chalks up a reply. âNo⊠I only wanted to.. protect you.â
It claws in his chest, a familiar wall thatâs repeatedly been torn again and again, by the same person; enough so that Kenji could still feel the recurring pain, but no longer does he break down from it.
âBut you didnât.â He says, eyes glassy. âYou didnât even pay attention.â
The furrow in his fatherâs eyes disappear, a notable change; cognizant of his actions.
Kenji continues.
âBe honest. When Mom disappeared, did you even look for her?â
~
âI stopped hearing it.â
âStopped hearing what?â
âDo you think kaiju have a special way of communication?â Tadashi asks mindlessly, spinning on his desk chair.
âAll animals do, now let me sleep.â Hiro replies, covering his head with a pillow to possibly drown out whatever his big brother could mutter.
But telepathically?Â
Is there a possibility? Tadashi thinks, leaning on his elbows that rested on his knees, fingertips of his hands on each other.
And if he can hear it, why canât Hiro?
Tadashi leans back on his desk chair with an audible sigh. If he were being honest, he didnât know why he was suddenly so invested in the recent kaiju sighting. His eyes fixated on the smaller version of his whiteboard dedicated to his looking for you in the past three years hidden behind the shelves in his lab at Tokyo Tech. He often hides this side of him from Hiro. This side of him thatâs⊠too dedicated in his search that definitely has been fruitless for years.
Itâs simple.Â
The scene of the incident, a huge gap in the wall of the building where your personal laboratory was; a trail of disaster followed right after. Like many other kaiju incidents, everyone suspected that it had walked from the sea. Considering that the building was situated on the seaside.
It was late at night when it happened, you went back to your office because you left something and⊠thatâs it?Â
Youâre just.. gone? Now he has to grief over his sister who he had just spoken to an hour prior to your leaving asking if you wanted some ramen he was cooking because he was too busy studying for his exams andâ Tadashi had to catch his breath even though he wasnât speaking, feeling his heart beat a mile a minute.
They werenât given much information past that.Â
The authorities say that they were just unfortunate that a kaiju had attacked the facility; no security footage, considering that the building was crushed in half. But out of everyone, the guards, other leftover researchers, they were able to leave unscathed while your brothers had to deal with the loss of their pillar; their big sister. Unable to even confirm if youâre dead or not, hoping that youâll come back, even injured, to them.
Tadashi ran his hand through his hair for the umpteenth time that night.
Truthfully, he was about to give up. He was about to take off all the newspaper clippings, all the letters, all your bank records, any and all leads from his rolling whiteboard; erase all the theories, and maybe, just like his little brother always told him⊠to just.. move on.
But then, on the way home after Tadashi introduced Hiro to his friends at Tokyo Tech after getting arrested for that night when Hiro won one of many of his recurring bot fights, the invasive sounds of the oceans permeated through his mind; wrapping around it gently like a blanket of warmth, telling him, making him understandâ that he had to go there. To you.
âBioacoustics.â Tadashi snaps, getting his favourite cap off his desk as he runs down the door. A course set to Tokyo Tech.
He leaves, not knowing his little brother whose eyes blink open, a frown on his face.
~
We share the pain of her loss, Kenji.Â
âYeah, right.â Kenji mutters beneath his breath.
A few hours have passed since his dad visited and left, a few hours into the morning. He hadnât gone down yet, choosing to just have the time to himself for at least once today. A box of donuts beside him as he slumped down lazily on his couch. The distant sound of thunder and the whining of the baby fills Kenjiâs ears.
He sighs heavily. Kenji knew that he stepped a line earlier when he mentioned his mother to which his father solemnly left right after he said the same words that were stuck in his head amongst other things. It seems like thereâs too many things getting stuck in his head recently, and just for this day alone. How did he even get into this mess?
He was so tired, yet he couldnât sleep a wink.
Kenji would walk around aimlessly, every other time going to his room just to look at you from the doorframe; still and unmoving, your eyelashes resting easily on your now dry cheeks. From here, where your fins and scales were hidden by the combined efforts of your towel, hair, and his duvet; you absolutely looked human. Maybe part of the 0.1% because of your inhumanely beautiful hair. A princess would fit. You look like a resting princess to Kenji. And he, with his dishevelled hair, stained shirt, and day-old pants, would probably be the fucking peasant on your feet.
Kenji disregards the thought, the shrill whine of the baby reaching his ears. He groans, head drooping down as his hand slides from the frame. Walking towards the elevator after getting his donuts, he heads down to the basement.
Mina, in a slightly panicked tone, explains the babyâs neverending screeches that added on to Kenjiâs inability to sleep.
âShe settled down for a minute, then started right back up.â
âYeah! I can hear it!â Kenji replies, exasperated.
âSheâs still scared of you, Ken.â Mina explains as Kenji puts down his box of donuts on the floor.
âYa think?â He gets sassier by the minute, Mina thinks.
Looking back at the shrieking baby, Kenji groans; before clapping his hand with faux energy, walking a little further back to try a little trick up his sleeve.
âHey! Hey, hey.â He calls out, catching the babyâs attention. âHiii!â
âLetâs try this.â Kenji mutters, the baby still frowned, faux cries coming from its littleâ big beak. Kenji motions to himself, âBeforeee.â
Then, he bumps his head as he transforms into his alter ego. âAfter!â
When the baby caught sight of her other sole parent, a smile was quickly seen on her face.
âBefore,â She whines.
âAfter!â She smiles, chitters crooning from her throat, visibly pleased.
And it goes on like that for a minute, enough so that the baby, seeing her dad transform in and out of Ultraman form, give off a confused expression, still trying to put two and two together. Eventually, her chitters come when Kenji is in Kenji form.
Kenji sighs as he approaches the now happy baby. âYou see? Itâs me.â He explains, turning around and sitting next to his box of donuts once more.
And it wasnât even two minutes in that the baby started whining again.
[...]
After tending to the baby that Kenji creatively decided to temporarily name âBaby,â giving her a litter of fish for an early morning breakfastâ considering it was probably 3 AM by then, Kenji fell asleep on the floor in front of Babyâs containment unit.Â
And woke up to strange drops of liquid on his face.
âEugh, what theâŠâ His eyes, still squinted and opting for sleep, meets the hazy vision of the baby looking down at him, dripping drool. Drool on him, smelling strongly of fish and guts, and⊠and.. and drool!
Kenji rolls over quickly just before a fat drop falls directly on his face while his mouth was open.
âOh, God.â He spits out, trying to wipe the substance off his face. âEw! Ew!âÂ
He scowls in a second, transforming into his Ultra. Baby tries to reach for him, but Kenji was already on the verge of throwing up from the stench, his fingers pinch the nape of the babyâs neck like she was a kitten. A disgusting trail of spit follows the baby around and Kenji keeps trying not to gag at every moment when he pulls the baby off the edge of the containment unit.
âUgh, thatâs disgusting.â He shakes his head, hand reaching for the lid of the unit. âOh, that smell.â He looks at the baby who was so happy in return; tummy full from the meal he haphazardly gave earlier. But then suddenly she burped and let out a glob of drool, enough to cover nearly half of his Ultraâs face, luckily turning a little so as not to swallow anything. He coughs, really about to throw up. Quickly putting the baby back to the bottom of the containment unit, he rasps out a few more gasps and Oh Gods before putting the lid back on where it belonged, not seeing the baby try to reach for him.
âItâs so bad.â Kenji coughs out.
Kenji stumbled back releasing his Ultra-form. Crouching a little as he groans out. âI shouldnât have eaten all those donuts.â He gasps, brain actively fighting to ignore the horrid smell surrounding him when Mina suddenly approaches him.
âKen, I know youâre exhausted. But you have a game today.â He has a what?
âAfter last night? Thereâs no way weâre gonna play.â He shakes his head.
Mina moves back to flash the holographic news of his coach declaring that despite the battle, the stadium is safe, and we will be playing the game. Oh, bullshit. He is not excited to even see that Yakult Swallows fucker.
âOf cooourse. Of course, weâre still gonna play.â Kenji says, frustration evident in his tone.
âWhat are we going to do about the baby and the woman, Ken?â
âWe arenât gonna do anything.â Ken replies, shrugging, a mechanical hand giving him his Giants jacket.
âYou are gonna have to figure something out.â He continues, putting on his jacket backwards without thinking, walking towards the glass elevator. âGet creative, Mina. You are a state-of-the-art supercomputer.â
The hovering orb listens as she understands the orders given to her; turning back to flash a different kids show towards the baby.
âStudies suggest this isnât healthy for children.â She states, upbeat music overtaking the basement as the baby immediately fell in fascination of the bright colours.
âAh, TV, the ultimate babysitter. Just not all this crap all day, okay? I donât want her getting hooked on that stupid song.â
When finally arriving upstairs, the sun has already risen, he opted to take a quick shower to get rid of all the nasty fish spit left on him by the baby. When entering his room right after to get some clothes, he finds you still fast asleep. Not a twitch, not a hair out of place.
A towel still wrapped around his waist, Kenji decides to approach you in quiet footsteps. If only to check if you were still breathing, and you were, he confirms, after placing his ear close to your face.
âI wonder what your name is,â He says lowly, sighing and sparing you one last look before going to change and leaving for todayâs game.
~
â And thereâs another strike. Sato just looks exhausted. â
â And now it looks like there are words being exchanged between Sato and the Swallows catcher. Oh! Oh no. We havenât seen a brawl like this in a long time. Both benches have cleared. Theyâre throwing punches⊠â
Now, Kenji was watching this morningâs replay of his ruffle with that stupid Swallows catcher in the middle of his living room. Watching as he sees a pathetic version of himself, missing strike after strike. A litter of bruises and small cuts on his face, his knuckles a nasty mix of blue and purple from delivering similarly menacing blows because of his undiluted anger.
He doesn't sense the silent footsteps approaching him in the dark room, head too deep in the failures within his past two days and the injuries heâs incurred so far. A whine falls from his lips as he tries to appease the patched bruise on his temple with the premium canned drink that mockingly had his once flawless face plastered on.
It was only when you were standing right beside him, dipping your finger in the ice did Kenji fully comprehend that someone was in the room with him. He yelped, almost sitting up.
âH-hey.â Kenji exclaims. âYou're awake. What are youââ
His words die down from his throat, words turning to a gulp, when the loose towel around you drops to the ground, exposing you to the man who had his mouth agape, taking it all in before he realises he should be darting his eyes away.Â
You don't spare him a glance when you try to step in the tub, Kenji moving his feet to give you room, and really, to begin getting out of there.
I mean, he can't just bathe with you, can he? Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to take the indulgent step of bathing in the middle of the living room.
His efforts to go and step out are stopped when you gently place your soft hand on his rigid arm. You're quiet, voice unheard, but it seems like your sounds that blanket over Kenji's cortexes are working just fine. And itâ you said:Â
Stay.
Like a puppy, he felt compelled to stay.Â
So he did.Â
You stared at him, and he observed your movements, the cooled can from his hand had long been forgotten as you kneel between his legs, your ice-cold hands dragging along his. From his palm, to the space between his fingers, to his knuckles and⊠Up, up, up, following the veins that decorated his overworked arms, the ticklish sensation made him drop the can from his lightened grip.
All the while you looked at him so earnestly, and in this light, it's like there was a brief flash of the more natural hue of your features; the usual iridescence dialling down a notch, making Kenji, among the other things you were doing to him, hitch his breath for the subtle flicker in changes.
The moment was quiet, none of you talking as the volume of the video he watched on repeat had been dialled down in his head. All it was in this moment was your touch on his, every gentle, slow drag of the freezing tips of your fingers on his bruises and scratches left such a sensation. Like electric fire on water, but also ice on skin on the hottest summer days.
Whether it was a spark or from the cold, or from something else entirely, Kenji at this moment, didn't care to know. Because your hands finally reached his collarbones, thumb rubbing circles on his Adamâs apple, and if you weren't so⊠so delicate with your touch, he would have blamed you for making him feel so choked. Like he couldn't breathe, like he didn't want to breathe anything else but the addicting scent you were giving off. Youâd have to have been in the ocean for so long. How come you smell like this? Not of salt or fish, orâ
He cuts his own thoughts off as he hears a small hum from your throat, his eyes that he hadn't noticed to be so lowly lidded already, on the brink of closing from your light caresses, widens at the slightest hint of your voice.
Your hand traces up from his collarbone, up to his neck, until you're perusing your way to his bruised cheek and damp hair. When you decide to leave your hand on his injured cheek, pressing a little, Kenji involuntarily lets out a whimper, the pain from the punch of that stupid catcher unironically catching up to him.
But even with this, Kenji finds himself leaning to your touch, eyes instinctively closing when the pressure returns to a light careen, allowing himself to delve deeper into the abyss you were taking him into. His cheek where your hand lay felt cool, a separate feeling from the ice, like it's carefully taking his pain away.Â
You move the slightest bit, hand pulling away; and Kenji's first instinct when his eyes shot open was to hold your wrist.
âDon't,â He whispers quietly, his cool breath fanning you who looked at him with your currently doe eyes in surprise. It seems that Kenji has a habit of not noticing things involving you. He didn't flinch from the closeness, a surprisingly welcome gesture for him. âDon't stop.â
For a brief moment, he forgets that you're half-kaiju, and that you haven't spoken a word at all since you two met. But when you rise from the water, bare chest seen for his eyes only, his other arm wraps itself on your waist subconsciously. Your legs and his tangle as he sits lower on the bathtub, allowing you to sit taller than him so he can bury his face on the curve of your neck and shoulder, dipping down to the valley of your soft breasts as he sighs in contentment, eyes closed all the while his arms wrap around your torso.
You were sitting on Kenji's navel, arms wrapped around his neck as your hands combed through his hair while you rested your cheek on his temple. It was quiet, not even the sound of the looping clip on the wall-to-wall TV was getting any of yours and Kenji's attention.
It's soothing, this feeling.
Kenji feels like youâre unravelling the knots on his physique, the pure sensation makes his fingers run along your slightly arched back in appreciation.Â
With his eyes closed, trapped in your soft embrace, Kenji allows the time to pass by. Not seeing the slowly pulsing, bioluminescent glow of the once normal water of his ice bath. The cooling sensation wasnât from the ice any longer, but from the conduction of your healing enzymes, your kaiju features coming out strong, the brief reprise of your earlier change in features disappearing, replaced back into its original state of prismatic disposition.
âKen,â Minaâs slightly excited voice calls out and Ken snaps his eyes open, the once peaceful environment long gone. âWe have something to show you.â He groans when the chirps from below reach his ears.
When he pulls away, heâs careful not to let you graze.. him. You only stared in curiosity, wondering why he was plucking himself away from you. Kenji makes a point to only stare at your eyes, and only your eyes despite quite literally using your chest as his pillow not only a few minutes earlier.
âLetâs get changed, okay? Close your eyes so I can get out.â
Kenji shouldnât be surprised that you didnât understand what he meant, so he lightly grabbed both your wrists, still pointedly ignoring the curve of your waist, disappearing into the icy bath, and how you were so soft cushioned on his comparatively hard stomach. Honestly⊠how did he look past all of this earlier?
âHere, cover.â He says, holding your hands over your eyes, the fingers leaving an undeniable gap, which he would close. âCover tightly.â
When he made sure you werenât leaving your arms loose, Kenji moved to get up from the tub, his only guiding light is the TV, he scampers for his towel, wrapping it quickly around his waist before turning around to fetch you yours. Only to see that your eyes were already set on him.
âHey! I said cover!â Kenji exclaims, already feeling his skin growing red from the embarrassment.
âYouâre actually a perv, arenât you?â He asks, but you remain quiet, simply observant of his actions. When he leans down to grab your towel beside the tub, his eyes dart over to his knuckles that were once purple. Now, it was back to his original shade of skin. His brows furrow at this and he immediately moves to touch his once painful temple, cheek, and then armâ until he rotates his dominant shoulder.
The realisation dawns on him as he looks at you, still a little worse for wear, only tilting your head at his gaze.
âNo way.â He mutters. Kenji turns on the lights to the room, making you squint and hiss.Â
âSorry.â Kenji offers you your towel, wrapping it around your shoulder. âCome on. Up, up.â He pats his arm for you to take.
[...]
When he got downstairs, you in tow, Kenji had a little pep in his step. Briefly forgetting the other reason he came down. You were currently dressed in Kenjiâs old Dodgers shirt and one of his old boxers; the only few that would fit you. He thought it would be a nightmare to dress you at first, but you were a quick learner. Kenji only had to show you how he got his own shirt first before you followed suit and things went from there; of course when he had to show you how to put on his old boxers, it was decidedly⊠too much to show you how he does it firsthand.
So, he opted to put on the rest of his clothes in his walk-in closet away from your tailing figure. Kenji decided that he was lucky that his Dodgers shirt was big on you, enough to cover a good portion of your lower half so that when he instructs you to put your feet on the holes of the only other clothes he had that fit you, he wouldnât be staring it at the face.
âWeâre definitely going to need a trip to the mall.â
When the baby caught sight of you and Kenji together, she chittered, the massive fins on either side of her head lightly twitching as she smiled. Kenji gives you a brief look as you grinned so brightly at the baby, your hand that once held on to Kenjiâs arm was now set on the glass container as you met the baby face-to-face.
Kenji smiles. âMina, I have some good news.â
âWait, Ken. Baby has a surprise to show you, remember?â
âOh, yeah. Yes. What was it?â
When the music started playing, the baby started jumping, dancing along. But the foul odour took away the charm of the cute dance. So much so that even you reeled back, a scrunch on your nose.
âOh, dear God, what is that smell?â Kenji exclaims, covering his nose with his arm.
âKen, you cannot feed a 20-foot baby a half ton of fish and expect nothing but a giant pile ofââ Shit.
Kenjiâs gaze flitters to the green goo that the baby repeatedly stomped on in its little happy dance.
âWhich brings me to something we need to discuss.â Mina continues. âUntil I am able to find Kaiju Island, weâre going to need to raise her.â
The mention of Kaiju Island perked Kenjiâs ears, heâd briefly forgotten how much he needed to send the baby back.
âAnd as for the womanâŠâ
âNo, no. We canât send her back to Kaiju Island, sheâs obviously not a monster.â Kenji stops. âBut she does know Kaiju Island. She should, shouldnât she?â
âIt is a possibility.â
âLook, so far, sheâs not acting wildly. Sheâs just a littleâŠâ Kenji watches as you peruse the shirt youâre wearing, seeing the peeks of scale glistering from your wounded legs. âNew to all this. And she learns fast too.â
Your eyes catch on to Kenjiâs and he waves at you lightly. You smile, all pearly white, at him.
âKen, your heart rate seems to spike when you are around her.â
The statement makes Kenji reel back. âWhat?!â
The floating robot does not respond from her out-of-pocket statement however, opting to float towards you.
When Mina approaches you, you lean back, afraid of the foreign levitating ball. When the supercomputer emits the same cyan light, you run, all the way towards Kenji who huffs when you bump into him in your haste to avoid getting scanned. Your being scared was obvious as you hid behind Kenjiâs back; you three were a little far from the baby now, mostly Kenjiâs attempt to smell the stench less.
âWhat if she was a person before all of this, Mina?â
âThere are no records or any news at all of cross-contaminating human DNA with kaiju DNA.â
âIt would feel wrong to send someone that looks, acts,â not talks yet, butâ âYou get what I mean.â
âThen, weâll just have to arrive at a compromise, Ken. Earlier I said that we must raise the baby,â
âMina, Iâve got a whole season of baseball ahead of me.â Kenji digresses. âI.. I just canât do it.â He turns around, about to leave and head upstairs.
For Ken, raising a baby was an entirely different responsibility than⊠teaching someone, he would reason in his brain. He wasn't going to raise you, he just needed to.. investigate.
You turn your head from the baby to Kenji.
âKen, you brought her home and now she is your responsibility. I have observed that our other guest doesnât mind helping you with her. In any case, sheâs more experienced towards kaiju behaviour. So if you want to keep one of them, youâre keeping both of them.â Mina keeps going, and Ken can only stay quiet as he steps back with every self-effacing statement the robot made.
âThey will both die if you donât take care of them until they are ready to leave. Now, it wonât be easy, but Iâll do everything I can to help.â The bot asserts.
âWeâll have to continue feeding her, washing her, develop a strategy for taking her to potty.â This makes Kenji flinch, looking at the giant pink lizard who was giggling in the similarly giant glass container she was in.
âYouâll have to learn the five Sâs.â Kenji trips back a little as he keeps walking backwards, back slowly to the containment unit.Â
âSwaddle, side, shush, swing, suck.â
The sudden rumble of the surroundings makes Kenji and Mina look back, your tail swashing as you transform into your kaiju form; Kenjiâs old shirt and boxers on the ground beside you.
~
The night ended rather quietly after Kenji finished cleaning up and with you humming a familiar tune to put the baby to sleep. Along with coming into terms that he basically had a kid starting then. Now, Kenji was walking to his room, ready for bed. The guest room was ready for you to sleep in, and even after Kenji pointed the bed there, you kept following him. He grunts.
âNo. You sleep there,â He points again, and you dumbly look towards his finger pointing. However, he reels back when he realises you flinched in surprise at his sudden action.
A weird feeling of guilt overtakes him, and he sighs. âWhy are you so clingy with me?â He whispers, mostly to himself, really.
As he went on though, he no longer stopped you from following him. Eventually, he was lying on his bed. You stand there, waiting.
âCome on. Lie down.â Kenji pats the space beside him. The change in disposition is so obvious, your glee spreading across the room and wrapping Kenji in unreposed warmth.
You jump on the extremely soft and fluffy mattress, diving beneath the covers like a bean. A bean that eventually found its place on his chest, grinning widely. Your whole body hid beneath the thick duvet, your face the only thing peeking out. The sight made Kenji breathe out a chuckle as his hand lands on your head, lightly patting it.
âThank youâŠâ Kenji starts, your chin resting on the middle of his chest, eyes fixated on him. âYou know, for whatever you did. I feel better.â
You may not have understood him word for word, but the message seemed to have gone through, ending up with you simply humming and smiling up at him, before your cheek replaced your chin as you begin to get comfortable.Â
For now, Kenji can allow this.
He closes his eyes, unknowingly basking in your warmth and the way your body seemed to melt into his.

Hello #Femmequixotic, I am a huge fan of your fics, and I've recently finished the 4th part of your Tales from the Special Branch.
Firstly, I'd like to express my admiration and love for your writing and creativity, and after reading your last post here, I hope you currently find yourself in a better place.
Now, I confess that I came here to see when you had last spoken about your work, and was incredibly excited to see that you were working on it, only to see that it has been over a year since.
I understand how life can be unpredictable, and no-one will be upset (although certainly sad) about you abandoning the series, but I came here to simply thank you for your work, and ask if there is any chance of an update (that being new chapters or the definite end to the series).
Regards,
V.
Hi, friend,
I just logged in after a significant amount of time away and saw this and some other lovely messages of support for me from various people. Thank you all so much for your kind words.
To provide an update on why I once again disappeared....well. Life is curiously, frustratingly exasperating sometimes. Just as I got back into writing last year, I started to have some health difficulties that I had to deal with. Long story short, I was rediagnosed with cancer in the spring of 2023. This recent tumor wasn't operable due to its placement, and technically was considered metastatic, so over the past year, I have been going through a very long process of two different types of radiation treatment plus five months of chemotherapy. I still have a very long stretch of immunotherapy ahead of me, and while the tumor seems to have melted away, we're not entirely certain the cancer is gone based on some symptoms I continue to have. My oncology team is awesome, though, and they're doing everything they can to help me.
I'm better than I was a year ago--or even six months ago--so that's positive, and my brain is finally starting to return back to normal from some of the fatigue and fog from treatment and from being ill. I'd like to go back to writing, and I'm feeling more creative as my strength builds back up. I don't want to promise anything, since the last time I did, life decided to immediately throw me a curveball, and to be honest, I'm still wicked tired on my good days, but I hope to complete the story within the next year. That's my plan, at least, so fingers crossed? I've always said I didn't want to abandon it at any point, and I'm determined to keep that promise to you all--and to myself.
So, yeah. That's what's been happening. I'm still here, I'm still fighting, and I'm still writing. Just super slowly, lol.

"This was me at nineteen versus now at twenty-one..... This sucks so bad! My transition was going so well, I was so pretty, my cock was tiny, my tits were big and full. Men absolutely adored me, I could hardly keep them off me. I miss having so many cocks rammed in my ass every day against my will, it was so hot! Ughhh..... I went to the doctor like normal, they tested my bloodwork and stuff. The doctor remarked that my cock was extremely small. I said I was fine with that and wanted SRS, but he smiled and said he thought I'd prefer it if I got to experience real orgasms with my cock before resorting to something extreme like SRS. He also told me I was very skinny for a trans girl my age and asked why I didn't want to be curvier. I told him I wouldn't mind a big butt and bigger boobs, and he put me on some crazy high dose of estrogen.
I rolled my eyes and agreed, because I'm a true submissive. Well..... after about a month I packed on twenty pounds and my cock was already five inches fully erect and I couldn't keep my hands off it. My balls finally got big and plump. It was so fun to jerk off. I used to need a cock ramming my prostate to cum, and even still, my cock would be flaccid, one inch, and barely ooze out one shot of clear cum. Now I was jerking off eight to twelve times a day, shooting rope after rope of milky white cum like a boy. I loved it SO much! Men loved it, too. They had a nice toy to play with as they fucked my ass. My cock became so red and swollen all the time, I posted pics of it on social media constantly! My parents were also thrilled by all the fun I was having with my cock, encouraging me to masturbate all day and go out to get fucked way less.....
I kept packing on more weight, at least twenty pounds a month. I tried to rationalize that it would taper off, that I wouldn't keep getting heavier. Plus in the short term I was so thick and sexy, and men found me even hotter, despite the fact that I had this huge cock now. Or because of it..... Six months on the new meds and I was about 210lbs, almost doubling my weight, and my cock was about a foot long, thick as my wrist, with two extremely generous testicles, both the size of a lemon. They were so hard to sit with and even walk with at times, but I could cum so fucking hard. Fifteen to twenty huge ropes of cum every orgasm. I'd moan like such a slutty princess every time, whether I was getting fucked at a party or at home, covering myself and my computer area with so much glorious cum, I never bothered washing it off. I loved stinking of it, sitting there, my fat belly jiggling, my boobs bouncing, my thick thighs pushing against my oversized balls.
But it kept getting worse. I got fatter and fatter every month. Now I'm so disgusting. You'd never know I was so sexy a couple years ago, barely any cock at all. Now I weigh almost 600lbs, and I can't stand it. I feel so gross and unsexy. Men want nothing to do with me, I'm just another smelly, fat trans girl who turned into a slob. I'm so fat I can barely walk, I just sit home, never bathing, never doing makeup or trying to look good. My cock is about sixteen inches, buried under loads of fat, my balls feel ready to burst all day. But my doctor recommends I don't jerk off, since my health is so bad and my blood pressure is through the roof.
The medication blew me up like a balloon, I wasn't even overeating, but now I stuff my face since it's one of the few pleasures I can still indulge in, even if it makes me feel even grosser knowing I'm just getting fatter. My cock is so hard all day but my doctor tells me all that excessive masturbation I like has put me at a very high risk of heart attack. Sometimes I'm naughty and push my belly down on my cock as I watch pretty girls on Instagram dance at parties like I used to. Their big tits bouncing, their bellies full of kids as they take shots and get fucked all night. I'm so jealous. My favorite is when I follow a trans girl who's nice and petite, getting fucked every night like a good girl, rubbing her tiny cock, only for a few months to pass, and I see her little cock grow to six inches, shooting thick ropes of cum suddenly. Her boobs get bigger, her thighs and butt get super thick, and she gets a cute belly to form, her pretty face getting round, with a double chin, looking so perfect and sexy. I push my giant gut on my cock knowing in a couple years she'll be just as fat and disgusting as me. I crush my huge cock, as my heart pounds through my chest, I moan and pant, and I finally cum, my chest gets so tight, my pulse feels impossibly fast and I make the biggest mess between my legs. Rope after rope after rope. I'm covered in sweat, feeling like my heart might finally give out, and slowly I settle down, my parents scolding me for cumming, despite how they used to encourage me to jerk off all day.... I know I'm so unhealthy and my heart can't take these heavy orgasms of mine, but it's soooo worth it, even if I am a disgusting pig now. I'm so glad my doctor put me on these meds...."
