There’s a first time for everything.

So I’ve had several Bettas in my fish keeping experience. I’ve learned a lot about keeping Bettas, for I was one of the most ignorant fish keepers in the beginning. I have a beautiful solid white male betta, he’s not fancy, but to me he is gorgeous and I want to give him the best. I’ve also recently became interested in using real plants and this is my first real attempt in growing real plants and keeping my boy as happy as I can.

After doing a bit of research I wanted to do what was best for my boy and the plants, so I tried out fluorite. It was a bet stressful for a beginner level fish keeper.

This is about 12 hours later. It’s looking a little less cloudy.

About 24 hours later... not too much better.

About 48 hours later. It’s getting better, but the amount of dust that has settled on my leaves and decorations is driving me nuts. I took a paint brush and tried to knock some of it off.

Does any one who has used flourite have any advice???

Briel!

This is my new fish! His name is Briel, otherwise known as GayBriel. Here is a picture from the first day I got him. He was picked because he looked half dead and pitiful. 

This is the email I got back from PetSmart after leaving a not so wonderful review about their Betta fish care. It is a little upsetting to me. Briel has since perked up, but I honestly couldn’t see him living much longer if he hadn't been adopted. 

He is now in a 5.5 gallon tank and looking a bit better. I hope to get him back to full health soon!

Fishblur question!

So I rescued a sick baby betta today, and he’s not looking so great. I can see some ick on him, but I’m also not sure if he’s pine coning? Honestly he’s just so small I can’t fully tell. Right now I’m treating him in a 1 gallon hospital tank ( which I think is okay temporarily because he is still so, so very small) with 1/2 tsp of aquarium salt and a little less than half a cap full of maracyn plus (bottle says 2 cap fulls per 10gal) Anything anyone else can think I can do? Honestly I think it’ll be a miracle if he pulls through, but I want to know I did everything I could.
