We’re incredibly proud of Mira and her peers today! We have 3 new Kukkiwon certified 1st degree black belts! They worked incredibly hard today. They started with a mile jog to the dojang. Then they had time for lunch and about an hour to write their essays. They moved on to do all their WT forms as a group and some solo forms of their Master’s choice. That was followed by upper level kick techniques picked by each instructor (video was too long to post 😅). They also had to learn a new form in 40 minutes and demonstrate the new (ITF ) form. Sparring was after this. A few matches with various instructors and then they moved to pressed sparring and then to 2 on 1 sparring. (I think sparring was hardest for all of them.) After sparring was a 25-30 minute workout. They finished testing with board breaking. They had to do a break with each arm and each leg. Mira decided to do a couple speed breaks. They all finished with a power break. They were presented with their new embroidered belts with their 1st stripe and were gifted beautiful new uniforms. The official Kukkiwon certificate and ID will come in later from South Korea. Whew! We’re all so proud of them! They’ve worked so hard. We had a fabulous dinner with all the instructors and it was fun to watch the kiddos be tired and giddy while they got their own table to sit at at the restaurant. Their instructors are so proud and happy for them. Now they get to help teach classes! Mira is excited!
