Slytherin Boys X The Eras Tour
My hcs about how them trying to get tickets would go down <3
Tumblr media
- RIGHT SO
- honestly they don't care when you first tell them about the tour. Big deal, yada yada
- When you queue for a presale code, they're not caring too much, they're probably not bothered honestly just letting you do your thing
- But when you get a presale code? they're INVESTED.
- "What's a presale code?" - Draco probably
"It helps them get access to tickets before just anyone can buy them." - Lorenzo, dutifully explaining
"So it's like a Disney special pass?" - Mattheo, who you explained Disneyland to the week prior
- Honestly trying so hard to get you those tickets. Imagine you don't manage to get tickets the first night and you're BUMMED. Keep sobbing (literally was me after November 17th, loss of my presale code day)
- But then you've nearly lost hope. You didn't get a presale code for the other nights, so ur chances at tickets? OUT THE WINDOW.
- But thank god. Thank god for your friends. Astoria, who got a presale code, and got tickets for her, Daphne, Pansy and a Hufflepuff girl. BLAISE, who got tickets for himself, Draco, and Theo.
- And last but not least, TOM RIDDLE, who set up SEVEN different emails and battled the Ticketmaster mums to get tickets for himself, Mattheo, Lorenzo, and of course, YOU.
- None of them besides the girls understand how huge this is until you're all screaming and crying and hugging.
- Then there's the stress of outfits. Finding matching ones, making sure they're cute, yada yada.
- Then they're helping you with everything they can, getting beads, making bracelets, learning lyrics.
- They're so excited for it oh my god by the end? BUZZING. have to tell them to shut up so many times.
- Going to Edinburgh Eras Tour, because of where hogwarts is.
- They're singing along, but trading bracelets? Weirded out originally by strangers approaching you, but then get into it.
- Totally having an amazing time by the end, and get the Taylor hype.
Tumblr media
TO CLARIFY....
I'M GOING TO THE ERAS TOUR!
I found out today, and had no idea. It's in two weeks. Outfit is ordered, bracelets are made, making even more bracelets, terrified. I'm so excited. Somebody pinch me.
Requests still open, love you all, thanks for reading!

Omg can u do a one shot where reader goes to the eras tour with Gojo??
miss americana and the heartbreak prince
satoru gojo x f!reader
an: this didn't mesh well as a one shot when I wrote it, so i hope this mix of blurbs and headcanons is ok <3 also, this is for a very specific audience, feel free to ignore on your dash!!!
--
satoru gojo, in his infinite knowledge and wisdom, is first exposed to the eras tour when you ask him to sign up for a presale code
“wait, so. you just want me to sign up for all the dates?” satoru asks, voice echoing through your phone speaker.  “yes, make sure that you verify your ticketmaster account and everything now. and then when you do that, send me a picture so i can make sure you did it right.” you respond.  “it’s not rocket science, babe. i’m sure i can figure out how to do it.” satoru grumbles, as you hear typing on the other end of the line.  “just take the picture when you’re done.”  “was this that important that you had to call me while I was at work?”  “babe. this is taylor swift. of course it was.”  “right.”
the fated day of buying tickets come and you and satoru are literally hiding from your bosses in the corner of your office - laptops pulled up and anxiously watching the queue
you're both nervously watching the numbers get smaller and smaller, nervous hands open on a twitter tab that's talking about people getting kicked out of the line, locked out, or being told that the tickets are already all gone
but by the grace of god, satoru's laptop goes through first and he manages to bag the two of you floor tickets and you're in
you climb into bed, pushing the hair off of satoru’s head to give him a kiss on the forehead, before you tuck yourself into the sheets and nestle into his arms.  “sweetheart.”  “hm?”  “can i ask you a question? you don’t have to say yes.” he asks, voice all uncharacteristically shy.  you prop yourself up on his bare chest, trying to discern the look on his face in the dark, as you nod.  “can i go to the concert with you?”  and when you see the little frowny face he has on, you can’t help but laugh at the entire ordeal, at the satoru gojo begging you to take him to a taylor swift concert. and when you start laughing, he starts grumbling, turning his surely pink face away from you.  “shut up.”  “oh my god, toru. you’re so cute, you know that?”  “i’m glad my misery is adorable to you.”  “I’d love if you would come to the concert with me. on one condition.”  “what’s that?”  “you have to learn all the lore and listen to the songs before we go. i’m not about to be that girl standing next to the guy who doesn’t know the surprise songs on the floor.”  “okay. what’s a surprise song?”  you press your fingers against his lips and place a kiss on his cheek.  “all in good time.”
you make a game plan for satoru, color coded and planned out, for him to learn everything you want him to know
you break it down for him era by era, asking him to first listen to the album and send you his reviews - and then explaining important key details that he would need to know
and it evolves so fast, because he gets more and more excited as he goes on, texting you his thoughts at work
he just needs a reason to not do work, but he gets REALLY REALLY INTO IT
satoru: YOU’RE GAY.  you: no? i don’t think so satoru: i’m singing picture to burn babe, be quiet satoru: if the way i loved you is country music, slap a flannel and a cowboy hat on me because i am FLOORED. SHINING LIKE FIREWORKS OVER YOUR SAD EMPTY TOWN??? JOHN, JOHN WHEN I CATCH YOU  satoru: babe if you ever break up with me ill go sleep on the highway  you: ok?? I wasn’t planning on it satoru: do not EVER give me a reason to relate to last kiss i will actually do something dangerous  you: why did shoko just send me a picture of you with your head down on your desk at work?  satoru: babe please don’t talk to me rn. i just listened to all too well and i am inconsolable.  you: wait till you watch the short film.  satoru: PLEASE I CAN’T HANDLE THIS. JAKE GYLLENHAL ALEX THE LION FROM MADAGASCAR WHEN I GET YOU.  you: ok satoru. pipe down.  satoru: ARE WE OUT OF THE WOODS YET ARE WE OUT OF THE WOODS YET ARE WE OUT OF THE WOODS YET  you: i feel like im creating a monster.  satoru: I WANT YOU FOR WORSE OR FOR BETTER BROKE YOUR HEART ILL PUT IT BACK TOGETHER satoru: just finished reputation. many thoughts  you: oh???  satoru: one. can we get frisky to dress? two. I am buying you a necklace with my initial on it. three. king of my heart is my favorite song so far. four. CAN WE GET FRISKY TO DRESS. five. kanye west, when I get you. you: satoru. you are at work. please focus.  satoru: i know that’s a yes.  satoru: just listened to lover. I am inconsolable and i love this white woman. DAYLIGHT??? THAT’S SO ME AND YOU. LOVER??? THAT’S SO ME AND YOU. PAPER RINGS??? ME AND YOU.  you: do not take paper rings as an excuse to not buy me a real ring. I am expecting a nice six pronged gold band circular cut diamond.  satoru: also can we get frisky to false god.  you: satoru gojo.  satoru: babe. urgent. 911.  you: what.  satoru: am i augustine or am i betty??  you: you’re inez. nosy gossiping ass bitch.  satoru: EXCUSE ME. also invisible string is so us. joe alwyn, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS.  you: well. satoru: is she ok. like seriously, is taylor ok??? if she has happily been in a relationship for six years why did she write tolerate it? doesn’t she know my mental health is fragile?  you: why tf are YOU crying about tolerate it? we’ve been in a stable relationship for four years satoru: i was imaging you being mean to me. it really hurt my feelings  you: ok.  satoru: long story short, the masterpiece that you are. JOE AND TAYLOR YOU WILL ALWAYS BE FAMOUS.  satoru: what is their name combined  you: toe.  satoru: ok… satoru: MEET ME AT MIDNIGHT you: oh god. you’re at the end. let’s hear it.  satoru: one. can we get frisky to maroon? two. you’re on your own kid changed my life. three. sweet nothing is us. four. can we get frisky to maroon. five. john mayer i will KILL YOU. six. also is like scooter braun a crack head or something like what is vigilante shit even about  satoru: babe. satoru: no.  satoru: YOU’RE LOSING ME???? JOE???? JOE ALWYN MY BROTHER JOE ALWYN???? NO.  you: yes.  satoru: Y/N. HE WON’T MARRY HER?????? IM GOING TO KILL HIM. THE GUY WHO LOVER IS ABOUT??? WHO MASTERMIND SWEET NOTHING INVISIBLE STRING IS ABOUT???  satoru: do not talk to me. I hate you.  you: WHAT DID I DO
satoru gets more and more excited about the entire thing as it goes on, telling YOU that you need to start planning outfits and making bracelets like you weren't the one who got him into this
satoru cannot make friendship bracelets. but he likes watching you make them and asking you all the little things you like about the music
“ok. what do i make the next one?”  “hm. did you do style yet?”  “no.”  you start collecting all the beads as satoru props his phone up against the table, to the live stream of the concert. every night, the two of you watch the surprise songs together and make a note of which ones you lose from your drafted list of picks - a mix of yours and satoru’s favorite songs that aren’t on the setlist.  “open.”  satoru holds the spoon of noodles right over your lips as you focus on finishing the bracelet, his eyes focused on the live stream.  “satoru.”  “hm?”  “can i ask a weird question?”  “sure.”  “you seem like you’re like really into this. like actually.”  “well, i am. this is serious - i cannot lose clean for a second time or i will break something.”  “not that. I just mean, the entire thing. like the songs and the music and all that. you…are really into it.”  “well, why wouldn’t i be? it’s something you like. and it clearly means a lot to you, so it does to me too.”  you can feel your cheeks burning at how blunt he is about the entire thing, like it’s something so obvious, like him putting in all this effort to like something you do is a given. you lean forward and press a kiss to his cheek, which he smiles at before focusing back on the live stream.  “BABE. NO.”  “OH MY GOD." “ITS CLEAN.” “TORU HOW DID WE LOSE A SONG TWICE.”
satoru decides that the two of you are going to go as miss americana and the heartbreak prince - and watches you meticulously collect fabrics and threads to make the pink dress you had in mind
you made it a point to also sew on the little broken heart for satoru's light pink shirt and white slacks that he was going to wear to the concert and buy the two of you matching gold crowns to wear together
“something is missing from my outfit, y/n.”   you frown, looking over at him as he fixes the little gold crown you got him on his white hair.  “what are you talking about? you look fine.”  satoru digs through your makeup box, rummaging around till he pulls out a tube of your red lipstick.  “you want to wear it, toru?”  “what? no. you put it on and then plant a bunch of kisses on my cheeks. so it leaves a mark.”  “oh?”  “IT’LL LOOK BETTER THAT WAY. I SAW SOMEONE ON TIK TOK DO IT.”  you roll your eyes as you lean forward in the mirror, blotting the buttery product on your lips and ignoring the devilish smile that satoru’s giving you in the mirror. and then you turn around and cup his face in your hands, making it a point to pepper long kisses on his cheeks and the side of his neck, making sure the full mark of your lips is left on his skin.  and when you’re done, he turns in the mirror and gives you a satisfied smile.  “perfect.”  “you’re so lame, satoru. if you wanted me to kiss you, you should have just asked.”  “can i have a kiss?”  “no.”  he leans forward and wraps his arms around your waist, it being his turn to smother you in kisses, eliciting a laugh from you when his breath tickles your neck.  “shut up.”
type of mf to take BILLIONS OF PICTURES of you outside the concert and even more with you, until you both get ones you like
also, totally wears a stack of friendship bracelets that you made together, but only trades with other boyfriends and dads in solidarity
man stands for the entire concert with you, except during the man. because he knows his place.
you start SOBBING during lover and he's there just smiling at how SILLY you are and wiping your little tears away. you both sway to the song together and scream the bridge together.
he takes a picture of you doing the fearless heart with taylor in the back. bc duh.
speaking of, this dude is NOT recording taylor AT ALL he is recording you and taking pictures of you and it's literally the most wholesome thing ever
like you're just so excited and jumpy that he thinks its cute and he wants to document it
but then he's so inconsolable during tis the damn season and tolerate it that he's SCREAMING THE LYRICS with the passion of ten suns (he is an evermore stan, fight with the wall)
takes a video of you singing during enchanted (which he later makes his lockscreen)
fighting for his life during all too well. like everyone else.
your surprise songs are dear john and daylight - which you're both screaming together on the floor.
satoru is giving YOU the side eye when you scream DATE ME TAYLOR during vigilante shit chair moment.
mister man is blushing when you point at him when taylor sings karma is my boyfriend
carries you out of the concert bc he knows your feet are killing you.
and feeds you after. bc duh. post concert munchies at a fast food drive thru.
--
an, again: tee hee this was so silly but so fun to think about. and for a very niche audience AHAHHAHA. also it feels weird to use my taglist when this is for a VERY specific audience so I will ignore.

Whether she's breaking records or breaking Ticketmaster, Taylor Swift has proven time and again that she's one of the most powerful figures in modern music — and the Eras Tour is a manifestation of that.
By TAYLOR WEATHERBY
But after witnessing it in person, it's clear that Swift is not just delivering the tour of the year — it's the tour of her generation.
Sure, Beyoncé fans can't wait for her tour this summer; Harry Styles is about to embark on the final leg of his highly successful Love On Tour trek; BLACKPINK sold out stadiums around the country too. Yet, it's hard to imagine that any other tour this year will have a cultural impact as big as the Eras Tour — something that's wildly apparent whether or not you were there.
Even before Swift hit the stage for her first night at Nashville's Nissan Stadium on May 5, her influence was felt. Practically every fan of the 70,000 in attendance (a record for the venue — more on that later) was wearing some sort of reference to their favorite Swift era: a beloved lyric, or an iconic performance or music video look. While that's not necessarily a new trend in the Swiftie world, seeing all 10 of her eras represented throughout a stadium-sized crowd was equal parts meaningful and remarkable.
As someone who has been to hundreds of tours and most of Swift's — including the Reputation Tour, which I naively referred to as "the peak of her career" — I didn't think this one would feel much different than a typical stadium show. But even when Swift was just a few songs in of her impressive three-and-a-half hour set, a feeling came over me like I wasn't just watching one of music's greats — I was part of music history.
Below, here are five reasons why the Eras Tour will go down as one of the most iconic of Swift's generation.
It's Treated Like A Holiday
In the week leading up to the shows and over the weekend, Nashville was abundant with special events in Swift's honor. From Taylor-themed trivia nights to pre- and post-show dance parties to wine lists transformed into "eras," practically every place you went was commemorating her return (she last performed in Nashville in 2018).
While it's unclear whether this kind of takeover is happening in every city — after all, she does consider Nashville a hometown, as she said on stage — it's rare to see an artist have such a ripple effect by simply just coming to town.
During her May 5 show, Swift added to the excitement by sharing the highly anticipated news that Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was coming on July 7. Upon the announcement, three of Nashville's monuments — the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, the Tennessee State Capitol and the Alliance Bernstein building downtown — were illuminated in purple, the album's color.
It's Breaking Records Left And Right
Though Swift is no stranger to breaking records, she continues to do so with the Eras Tour. After setting the all-time attendance record at Nissan Stadium on night one of her Nashville run, Swift topped herself (something has become accustomed to on the charts as well) with another attendance record on night two.
And despite the controversial ticketing frenzy the tour caused, Swift also broke a Ticketmaster record with more than 2.4 million tickets sold — the most by an artist in a single day — in the presale alone. If Swift announces an international leg of the tour, Pollstar projects that the Eras Tour could surpass $1 billion, which would add yet another first to her ever-growing list.
It's Spawned Parking Lot Parties
As if history-making attendance and record-breaking ticket sales aren't indication enough of Swift's power, the Eras Tour is so highly in-demand that fans are sitting outside of the venue to still be part of the show. Fans crowded barricades and camped out in the parking lot of Nissan Stadium, ready to watch (and sing along) Swift on the big screen — something that has seemingly been happening in every city.
It Can't Be Stopped By The Elements
Adding to the magnitude of the Eras Tour, Swift performs 45 songs across three and a half hours. And to make her last night in Nashville even more momentous, she did almost all of that in pouring rain.
Swift didn't get to take the stage until after 10 p.m. on May 7 because of storms in the area (she normally goes on around 7:50 local time), but that didn't mean she'd be shortening her set. Carrying on until after 1:30 a.m. — even through the "element of slippiness happening," as she joked — Swift made it clear that she's determined to give each show her all regardless of the weather.
It's Simply A Feel-Good Celebration
Perhaps it was the five-year gap between the last time she toured. Perhaps it was the four new albums of material. Perhaps it was the celebratory nature of the show. Whatever inspired the vibe of the Eras Tour, I've never seen Taylor Swift or her fans so alive. The passion was tangible, the energy was magnetic.
Though Swift has always been known as an artist with a very loyal following, it was still mind-blowing to hear 70,000 people belt out every word for three hours straight. There aren't many artists whose catalogs are as equally beloved as they are extensive, especially one who hasn't even seen her 34th birthday. No matter how many albums and tours are in Swift's future, the Eras Tour captures a special moment in time — and celebrates a legend in her prime.

TICKETMASTER PRESALE
In case anyone is anxious about knowing how it works, this is exactly how it was for me! I got my code about a half hour before ticket prices- it says 15 minutes before but in reality they have been coming in drips! If you go to the link sent with it, there will be a countdown. Stay on that page. At around ten minutes to ten, you'll be asked to join a waiting room. Go ahead and click that! From there, you'll sit and wait, and you'll automatically be put in the queue shortly after ten. As a note, don't panic if the clock strikes ten and you're not put in the queue. It took about 30 seconds for me and I was further ahead in the queue than my friends who got in immediately. You'll be okay!
It might ask you to authenticate yourself with a text message- it won't take long! Once you're in the queue, wait for the number of people in front of you to go down. It may say that you have like 6000 people ahead of you, but it goes pretty fast. Once you're in, you'll have fifteen minutes to select your seats/pit tickets. That doesn't sound like a lot of time, but it's longer than you'd think. The website is laggy, and things may take a bit to load. I'd recommend having a general idea of where you want to be beforehand! I would also have the presale code for your venue copied so all you have to do is paste it. You'll be able to unlock the tickets for the presale here, once you get to your spot in the queue. From there, all you have to do is buy! On ticketmaster, there is an option to the bottom left to "protect your tickets". It's totally up to you if you wanna do that, but you have to select yes or no before you can buy the tickets! I didn't see that at first because I was in a rush, and I was wondering why it wasn't going through. I hope this helped someone! I like knowing how things work beforehand, so I figured I'd let people know.

BTS TUTORIAL: Tickets to Concerts
Tumblr media
UPDATES NOW IN ORANGE BELOW!
So you wanna see BTS in person? Who doesn’t! That would be so dope.
Let’s chat about it.
Whew, okay, as a toddler ARMY, I worry I’m biting off more than I can chew with this one, because I’ve never been to a BTS concert. But since friends have been giving me good advice about trying for tickets to Yoongi’s tour, I will take a crack at it, share what I have heard, just in case it’s helpful.
So far, the only BTS-related concert we know of for 2023 is Suga’s Solo Tour.
In order to buy tickets, you have to jump through several hoops:
First, you better have an active ARMY membership. Deadline for that (for this concert) is past but you should still get one anyway.
Next, you will have had to apply for ARMY PRESALE. You gotta do this on both Weverse—which will give you a confirmation code/QR—and then you gotta do it again on Ticketmaster.
DO NOT FORGET TO PUT YOUR ARMY MEMBERSHIP ID NUMBER INTO TICKETMASTER.
This will allow you to ENTER INTO A LOTTERY to try for tickets.
IF you win this lottery, you will get an email on the evening of Tuesday, February 28th giving you a special login code for tickets during ARMY presale.
ARMY presale goes live on March 1st at 3pm your local venue’s time.
Research your venue ahead of time so you know the seating arrangement and tiers, in case you have preferences about where you sit.
I have no idea which seats are “good” seats for a stadium (some have a single stage set up at one end, some have ramps or multi mini-stages in the middle). I hear that standing by the front or barricade is really loud and intense so know your limits.
UPDATE:
Go ahead and log in to your Ticketmaster account now and put in TWO debit or credit cards (or gift cards). One as your primary; one as your backup in case something goes wonky. Save that info in your PAYMENT OPTIONS so you won't waste time plugging in numbers the day you want to buy.
Tumblr media
On the day of the ticket sale, get onto the site at least ten minutes before the tickets are released, then refresh the page no more than 10 seconds before the release time to improve your chances of getting to the front of the queue. For example, if tickets go on sale at 3pm on a Wednesday, hop on the Ticketmaster site at 2:50pm, then refresh the page 10 seconds before 1pm.
You will then be entered into a queue along with a max of another 2,000 people. There could be 200,000 other people ahead of you, but YOUR cohort of 2,000 will be automatically queued and you can do nothing but wait for your turn.
Tumblr media
DO. NOT. REFRESH. ONCE. IN. QUEUE. You will lose your place.
Stay in queue, deep breaths, and wait for your turn, then let the Hunger Games begin.
Tumblr media
You want to take a few seconds to pick your seats, then check out IMMEDIATELY.
Note: if you are not handicapped, please leave seats marked WC (wheelchair) and the ones next to them (for companions) to those who truly need them.
You can only purchase up to 4 seats per lottery code, unless as a group you get an agent and try to purchase a box ahead of Presale, but those cost thousands of dollars and there is a waiting list and I have no idea how you actually get that done.
If by some miracle there are tickets left over from ARMY’s special presale, the following day opens to general presale. Then tickets go on sale to the public the day after that. (But we all know they are gonna sell out completely in minutes, and then after that there will be online trading and mark ups and whatnot.)
For step-by-step info, checkout Ticketmaster’s post here:
If you got tickets, the next thing you’ll want to do is book travel and accommodations immediately because mark-ups will skyrocket. Look for safe and well-rated hotels, motels, Airbnb, etc., in walking distance if possible.
Things to consider:
Can you take a bus or train to the area to save on airfare? How are you going to eat? Food at the venue will cost a lot but taste cheap. How are you getting to the venue if everyone is competing for cabs? Do you have a safe and non-obvious place to hide your cash on your person?
These are logistics you’ll want to play out thoroughly before your concert (Roo says, having never been to a popular music concert because she’s a giant musical theater nerd who only goes to the symphony—but this is what my older ARMY friends tell me.)
If you’re part of a community with fellow ARMY traveling to your concert site, it’s always a good idea to meet up and travel together (strength in numbers). Also check the rules of your venue to see if you need to use a clear plastic bag or if cell phones are not allowed, that sort of thing.
A lot of times ARMY are kind enough to bring freebies and giveaways, like stickers or crafts and such. Sorry to “Mom” you guys, but, please think twice before eating or drinking anything that a stranger hands you. If it comes it original brand packaging, cool. Otherwise, maybe don’t risk it. Not that ARMY has a history of poisoning or drugging people but, ya know, stranger danger.
Finally, it’s cool to bring posters and banners and things to hold up during certain moments in the concert when cameras pan to that—but please don’t block others’ views behind you. ARMY are supposed to be considerate and polite. Tickets and travel are expensive; don't ruin others' experiences.
Folks also say that you’ll likely experience a post-concert “high” and then a “drop.” So maybe have some self-care on hand. Make sure you have ways to hydrate. Bring some Kleenex and throat lozenges. Have a soothing playlist at the ready for when you try to sleep that night. Enjoy every ounce of it and then build in some time to decompress. Plan something fun to look forward to soon after.
This is now the extent of my knowledge when it comes to preparing for concerts.
I’m gonna try for tickets for Newark on the 29th but it’s my first time ever doing anything of the sort, so I’m prepared for the likelihood I won’t get one of the 16,000 seats available that one night. If that’s the case, I will try not to be too disappointed—I figure it’ll help me save on travel and accommodations in case Jimin ever decides to tour on this side of the world.
In any case, should you ever find yourself trying to go to a BTS concert, please share tips and tricks and have a good time.
May the odds be ever in your favor.
Tumblr media
DISCLAIMER:
I am a Dope Old Person and have been ARMY since January 2022. So I still have a lot to learn.
I’m making mini-tutorials for people like me who are comfy with technology but totally new to voting, streaming, and buying Kpop stuff.
If you know of better, more up-to-date information, please comment or DM me so I can make sure I’m not spreading misinfo. Please be polite; we are on the same team!
Feel free to apply whatever you learn here to other BTS members and other artists; I’m Jimin-biased so I am focused on helping Jimin at this moment in time, but I’m OT7 so rest assured I’ll put my shoulder to the wheel for all our members!

24th Birthday Special: Advice from a Concert Connoisseur
I wanted to post something in commemoration for my birthday (Aug 3) and why not talk about my personal takes on what you can do to enjoy your future concert experiences! Of course, everyone will approach concerts differently, so this is obviously a list particular and true to me, but could possibly have information that can enlighten others to try the next time they go to a concert. Although I've been to other concerts of varying genres, this listen will cover mainly how kpop tours go and what to expect.
1) Venue and Ticketing Information
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[THE BOYZ - 2024 ZENERATION / ATEEZ - 2019 THE EXPEDITION, both locations in Atlanta, GA]
First things first: collect all information and details about the tour and the concert itself. Depending on which touring/production companies are in charge of the tour, information such as venues, dates and cities, as well as pricing for tickets and merchandise will be more transparent and quickly distributed for the general interest group to prepare their finances and whatever accommodations they'll need if they plan on traveling. I would keep an eye out for the following:
Tour Name along with cities/countries: since companies use "world tour" as a marketing tactic, it's rarely considered a world tour by definition as many artists only touchdown in so many areas of the world within that span of time their tour goes for
The year and tour dates: most tours are announced months to even a year ahead of time, so be aware of when those announcements drop and establish the amount of time you have until that particular date arrives. This can be in a span of a few weeks to a span of a few months, which is highly dependent on the artist's current schedule (comebacks, festivals/major events, touring other parts of the world outside of where you reside, hiatuses, etc)
Who the touring/production company is: from experience, pay attention and do your own research in how that particular company conducts their tours. Some companies are well established and have years of experience in elevating the quality of their concerts, others are truthfully underprepared or unorganized, a few are actually scammers based on how they handle on site VIP tier perks/experiences. I would check Twitter for this type of information, especially if people have compiled their experiences through threads
Who is the ticket distributor: some production companies sell their tickets directly, others such as Ticketmaster or AXS are in charge of distributing those tickets. This is important for having access to your ticket information, venue seating charts, VIP tier list and perks
What is the venue and where is it located: some venues are placed in the heart of the major cities, which all have their own unique regulations and expectations (bag policies, parking, fanmade signs/posters, etc) Locating the venue will also help you narrow down housing accommodations a mode of transportation as some cities are more walkable than others
What are the different tiers/perks: each tour is conducted differently, so make sure you take the time to read what all the perks/benefits will be before deciding on purchasing your ticket! These benefits can include: hi-touch, send off, soundcheck, group photos, selfie opportunities, line up priority, etc! Depending on the size of the venue, these perks will differ in what's available with the prices reflecting so.
What time does ticket sales begin: because of time zones, pay attention to when ticket sales begin, as they will differ from presale (with codes if you've been a frequent attendee for that particular group/touring company, or membership benefits from the group itself), VIP, and general sale
2) Tiers and Seating Preferences
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[VERIVERY - 2024 GO ON FAN MEETING / TWICE - 2023 Ready to Be, both in Atlanta, GA]
Depending on the venue size, there will be various ways to view the concert: in the pit/standing area, seated, or leveled/nosebleeds. Although I've had my fair share of purchasing VIP and being able to be closer to the stage, my preferences over the years have shifted, prioritizing my view of the stage versus how close I am to the stage.
This has heavily impacted my overall experience, as I'm someone who doesn't feel the need to record every single moment I'm there, lessening my pressure of wanting to capture the "perfect" moments and allow myself to enjoy the concert in its entirety. I also believe that there will always be videos and photos from other users online, so I use them as my way of archiving those memories
Of course we know what the pros would be in getting a higher tier ticket, but my cons are more important to me: standing/pit will give you an obscure view of the stage due to people (most likely) being in front of you, and how high they all plan on holding their phones up to record. Some fans will also hold up objects (fans, posters/signs, etc), which depending on where you're viewing the stage, that can also be distracting
My favorite areas to stand/sit now are usually centered and towards the back of the pit (near or behind the sound booth) or central seating sections
3) Experience the Concert
Tumblr media
As I've been going to concerts, my first one being BTS's Highlight Tour back in 2015 (iykyk...), my approach to concerts have evolved over time:
Bring earplugs! These speakers and crowds can becoming extremely loud and over time with continuous exposure without proper protection, it will affect your hearing long term. I use Loop Earplugs (found on their website or Amazon) and I can still hear the performance/music but without risking my ears ringing after the concert is over
Be mindful of your battery life on your devices. This can be your lightsticks, phone, cameras, etc. You'll need your phone for after the concert, such as navigating back home, ordering Ubers/Lifts, ordering food, etc. Bring chargers, power banks, or extra batteries as appropriate
Dress however you like at the concert, but if you want to feel extra special: dress according to the artist's themed eras or your favorite member! Whether you dress for comfort or for fashion, most fandoms can be (not always but that shouldn't affect your individual experience) extremely friendly and supportive, so having a themed outfit that's recognizable will give you a confidence boost! I'm someone who doesn't bother to dress for every day, but for concerts, I enjoy theming my outfits and received compliments when I'm there :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[THE BOYZ Juyeon - The Stealer]
If you ever want to make anyone's day: hand out freebies! This can be small bracelets, keychains, charms, unofficial photocards or posters, anything that you can commemorate the day with. I've made unofficial photocards in the past for ATEEZ, which give you a chance at potentially making friends or gaining exposure within the community (if you promote as a creative, artist, group order manager, fansite, etc) However, if you do plan on handing out freebies: you will come across solo stans or entitled people that will not be satisfied with not getting their favorite member so handle those situations as you best see fit (personally, I'd probably just deny them a freebie if they don't have a warm and approachable attitude from the jump)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Talk to people around you and make them feel welcomed and a part of the community: it can be as simple as holding the line for someone else to get their own freebies (this happened to me at the Expedition tour and I was able to spend the entire day with those group of girls), asking who someone's bias is and where they're traveling from, if someone shows signs of needing help with anything, extending a hand if you're able to do anything to resolve the situation, also if you end up sharing words with other people, wishing them a good night and to arrive to their next location safely! It may seem small and insignificant, but these moments can change the trajectory of someone's concert experience in a positive direction without you even realizing
Dance like no one's watching, but act appropriately to not become a nuisance to the group experience: be there to enjoy your time but not at the expense of everyone else's experience. There's room to be excited, but there's no room for disrespect and acting inappropriately: scream while everyone's invited to scream, be mindful of your bubble (I've had to confront people pushing into me before after dealing with it multiple times without an apology), let the artists have a moment to speak and share their thoughts with the audience (please don't use those ments to shout and try to grab someone's attention, especially for people like me that have auditory processing issues and can't always make out what's being said without repeating the statements), be a good sport to everyone around you, including the artists themselves. Just because you paid for the experience doesn't entitle to act unhinged
Experience the concert like a movie: there's excitement in the element of surprise. I usually refrain from looking for the setlists or fancams of previous stops before my stop, treating my concert experience like I'm watching a movie for the first time. Some groups will also play into the theatrics of the show itself with dance performances or stages outside of their promoted songs, even performing songs outside of their norms (such as Japanese releases) or pre released title songs (stream Bite Back - THE BOYZ everyone). Allow yourself to immerse within the environment: watch the VCRs, pay attention to the set design changes, be present in the moment where it's easy for people to fall back onto their phones when they're not be stimulated. Give kudos to all the moving parts that makes these shows spectacular and genuinely a once in a lifetime opportunity. Memorialize it, embody it, consume the energy that comes from everyone coming together and traveling far and wide to be in a shared space and experiencing a special moment that will never be replicated again. And don't forget to have fun and if possible, make fun for others as well! And do not fret if your attempts at conversing with people fall short: it's almost 9/10 nothing personal to you and doesn't actually have anything to do with you. Anything can happen within these 24 hours that can make or break someone's spirit, so don't take offense if people are there for reasons outside of your own. Some people are there to unwind and listen to their favorite music, others want to make friends, some want to get as many interactions with their faves as possible (which I have my own opinions about but it's not important), overall: despite what happens, find your silver linings to make do of what's happening and what's in your control. You are in control of your experience: no one else, so might as well make the most of it and share an equal responsibility with the artist to create fond memories for all of us to look back on with smiles and heavy hearts
Thank you for whoever made it this far: happy birthday to me! 🎂🧁🍰

Taylor’s in a no-win situation. If the previously sold tickets were to be voided like some fans are asking for, people who purchased from third parties have lost out and scalpers will have been paid and refunded, earning likely more than 10x the original amount. If she goes ahead with the tour as-is, there will be big gaps where scalpers bought up groups of seats which is disheartening to see as a performer and a complete waste of resources for the venues. If she comes back online and announces a Rep style approach for the remaining tickets and rest of the tour, the people who got their tickets in the presales will have paid way more than everyone else and will ask why she didn’t do that in the first place. The scalping also makes it impossible to know what the actual fan demand is for these shows, do they need to consider more dates? Change the ticket options for future shows? Do fans actually want those VIP packages or was that their only option? All of these things are being placed on her despite it being a huge group of professionals’ JOB to organise big events and ensure it’s a positive experience for the artist and the fans so people aren’t so put off they don’t bother trying again. If she says fuck it and pushes the rest of the tour back until she can be sure it won’t happen every time, I’d understand.
I think what is also so frustrating is that the Reputation boost/verified fan system worked so well that it was considered the future of touring, and then Ticketmaster refused to do it again because they didn’t make the right profit. They function as a monopoly precisely by allowing scalpers and bots to purchase blocks of tickets and charging exorbitant fees - they always have and their profits have only increased with the dynamic pricing! Taylor can’t back out because there is nowhere else to sell tickets and she’s invested too much money and manpower in the tour already. I do suspect that she will release a press statement in the next few days once her legal team have figured out a way for her to criticise ticketmaster without opening herself up to lawsuits, but overall yes - she has no option but to soldier onwards and hope that by her next tour the anti-trust laws will have kicked in. It’s so disappointing for fans, I just hope no one is caught in the resale trap. No entertainer is worth $1000 a ticket and being ripped off and scammed taints the whole experience.

Need help getting Eras Tour Tickets? Check out these resources ⬇️
Getting Eras Tour tickets can be stressful, so we want to help! Here’s a comprehensive list explaining how you can snag tickets during the Verified Fan presale, general ticket drops, or through resale websites or giveaways. Read on!
Verified Fan Presale
The Verified Fan presale takes place at 10 a.m. local venue time 10 days before the first concert in a new city. (For example, the Verified Fan Presale for the Eras Tour Philly shows occurred at 10 a.m. EST on Tuesday, May 2 ahead of the three-day concert series on May 12, 13, & 14).
During the Verified Fan presale, Ticketmaster uses a random lottery system to send out codes to fans still looking for tickets. Codes are typically sent via text message from the number 73767.
Fans who were selected for the original Verified Fan sale in November but did not secure tickets and waitlisted fans have reported they received codes in the past.
Important Note: If you previously received a Verified Fan presale code, it will NOT work for this sale. Ticketmaster sends out new codes for the sales closer to the concert, typically in waves, from 10 a.m. to around 1:30/2:00 p.m.
Want to see what the text message with the Verified Fan presale code from Ticketmaster looks like? Check out this TikTok video:
https://www.tiktok.com/@floridaw0man/video/7218434112196218158
General Sale Ticket Drops
Ticketmaster also does General Sale Ticket drops the week of the concert beginning on Tuesday or Wednesday and continuing through the last concert on Sunday.
If you see 2,000+ fans in the queue, then there’s a good chance, a drop is taking place.
Fans who successfully snagged tickets during General Sales drops have said they used Safari on either their phone or laptop and Apple Pay for the quickest checkout.
While it can be incredibly frustrating to have to remain in the queue, keep checking for ticket drops as they come in batches.
Please also be advised that bots are beating fans to checkout and then listing tickets on resale websites for higher than face value, so you’ll need to be quick when checking out!
Ticketmaster has changed the process on how they’re doing ticket drops following the first concert at Gillette. Check out this TikTok video for more info:

Got Tickets from a Resale Website? Don’t Know How To Transfer Them?
After you purchase your tickets, you should receive two (2) emails.
The first is a standard order confirmation email. The second should be your transfer email. Since most venues use Ticketmaster, the email should be from Ticketmaster and should read [Name] sent you ticket(s) for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour with instructions on how to claim them.
Check out this video to see what the email should look like:

hihihi grace i have been following your blog since i was twelve and i wanted to say hi. but also. wait. what is going on with Ticketmaster? im so lost all i know is no one got tickets
buckle up! rewind to about 2 weeks ago. taylor posted on instagram, announcing her tour and over 4 million people liked it within 12 hrs, 4x the number of ppl who liked her loverfest instagram post. when she announced it you could sign up for a chance to get a presale code on monday, november 14th. at this time, we were also told loverfest ticket holders have priority, as well as people with additional boosts received from purchases on taylor’s online store. we’re encouraged to link our store email with our ticketmaster email. monday roles around and a decent number of people get emails and texts with codes saying they were selected, although there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to who did and did not get codes. we’re told to log onto ticketmaster at 10am the time you venue is closed. as an east coaster myself, when i logged in at 9:25, the website had already crashed. i spent 25 minutes incessantly refreshing just to get into the website. when i finally got into the waiting room and then into the queue, i had, wait for it, over 20,000 people in line in front of me. 2 hours go by, ticketmaster informs us they have pushed back the capitol one card holder presale back 24 hrs, as well as the west coast presales to 3pm local time, AND my queue is paused while they work at ~internal issues~ due to the fact that they, as they claim, had no idea how many ppl would show up on their website, despite having sent. out. the. presale. codes….. AND THEN around this time is when nosebleeds are around $120, floor seats are all vip for $800, and stubhub suddenly has thousands of tickets going for over $20,000. there, again, seems to be no pattern as to where you are in the queue, despite empty promises made by both tm and tn that fan loyalty would be a factor. by hour 4, most venues have no tickets allotted for presale left. many are devastated and feel scammed and are crying and confused
*deep breath* ITS WEDNESDAY! a new day and opportunity for capital one card holders to join a queue and get taylor swift tickets! it cant possibly be worse than yesterday, they naively think! only, its worse. while the queue moves slightly faster, the 6 digits tm asks us to use to confirm we have a card, don’t work. The website is crashing before its even 2pm local time, when we were told to join the queue. And then…… people finally get in to buy tickets and of course….. there is nothing left within the first 20 minutes of the presale. the world is outraged! what will tm and taylor say! people are begging tm and tn for answers (some of the answers are just them gaslighting fans convincing them they never said long time fans will get priority and they don’t know where that information came from)! what will they do!? nothing. the answer is nothing.
but! do not fret! friday is general sale! everyone will get equal opportunity! didnt get presale? no worries! don’t have a capital one card? a-okay! except….. about an hour ago, ticketmaster logs onto their silly little twitter to announce GENERAL SALE HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO UNPREDICTED SALES NUMBERS!!!! how could that be?? didnt they set aside presale tickets???? the stadiums can fit up to 6 digits worth of people!!! what abt the people who simply werent lucky or privileged enough to qualify for the first 2 sales? how can resellers legally do this??? what happened? where did they go wrong??? who even is gonna be in the audience a eras tour??? how did loverfest go so smoothly when there were only 4 domestic shows? all…..great….. fucking….. questions……
i am absolutely horrified and outraged at ticketmaster. 90% of my friends are people i’ve met because of the taylor fandom and yet a whopping like 10% of my friends who live in or can come to the US got tickets. the entire process sucked and to top it all off barely anyone got tickets. right now the only opportunity to get tickets is to spend either $4000 for nosebleeds or more for alternative sections. i dont know what to make of taylor and team’s silence, i am feeling blindly optimistic because i love her and trust her and she often, not always but often, pulls through. i am so sorry to everyone who wont be able to see her, as of now.

The ticketmaster announcement they released to try to cover their asses makes me even more mad. I don’t have any kind of business experience, but it would seem that instead of basing your verified fan offers on assumptions, you should base it on the highest possible outcome.
First, you determine how many seats per stadium there will be available. Then, you take a certain percentage, say 15%, and divide that number by the highest amount of tickets you offer per customer (in this case 6). I’m going to use Ford Field as an example because that is my stadium and I know the capacity (65,000).
15% of 65000 is 9750. This is the amount of tickets available for presale. Divided by 6 is 1625. This is the amount of people selected to participate in the presale event for this particular stadium. Everyone else who registered for the presale for this stadium is waitlisted.
Give a select amount of time for the people invited to presale to buy their tickets (say 2-3 days) and then see how many tickets are left. If Ticketmaster is correct and only 40% of invited people will purchase tickets, at an average of 3 tickets per person, then that means that 1950 tickets will be sold. Then, you do the process again. 7800 tickets at six tickets each will grant another 1300 people access. And this is only if Ticketmaster is correct about their data, which does not seem to apply here. The process continues until either the tickets run out, or you reach a certain date, in which the general sale opens up.
This way, you are not over inviting people to the presale and running out of tickets, causing mass outrage, in the case that you are wrong about the percentages and max amounts. You are limiting the amount of people on the servers at a time, so the wait times are lowered and, again, you avoid mass outrage. The only reason Ticketmaster didn’t do this system is because they do not care about their user base and only are in it for the money. They decided to ignore good business practices and smart processes because they thought they could get away with it and make more money, just like airlines do, and they should not be allowed to get away with it.

Inspired by Taylor’s To Apple, Love Taylor letter
To Ticketmaster, Love Molly (and many other Swifties)
I write this to explain why so many fans are disappointed in how Ticketmaster handled the presale for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. I feel this deserves an explanation because Ticketmaster has been and will continue to be the primary seller for concert tickets when they are first released and key in creating ways for us to connect with our favorite artists.
I’m sure you are aware that many fans received an email saying that their spot in line was going to be boosted during the presale. I’m not sure you know that many fans who had this boost, as well as Lover Fest tickets, struggled to get tickets, while their accounts or friends/family member's who had non-boosted accounts got tickets way sooner and had better spots in the queue than boosted members. Of course, we are not saying this is the case for every sale but there are enough instances of this to cause one to raise an eyebrow.
Additionally, I’m sure your aware of the the thousands of tickets that are being sold by resellers looking to make a large profit.
I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike any presale I have participated in for Taylor tickets for a tour. I particularly remember how well the reputation presale went and how few tickets were resold.
This is not about me. This is about the fans who are crying on TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, etc. that will not get to see their favorite artist. This is about the young adult who can finally afford tickets. This is about the older sibling who worked tirelessly to afford multiple tickets to take their younger sibling. This is about the fans who have seen an artist for every tour or the fan who was finally going to see Taylor for the first time. Now, they cannot, because resellers are already selling hundreds of tickets for thousands and thousands of dollars over face value.
These are not the complaints of one fan. These are the echoed sentiments of millions of fans, for many different artists, in my social circles who are afraid to speak up publicly because we feel like there is little we can do to change anything. We simply do not respect how Ticketmaster has been dealing with fans recently.
I realize that Ticketmaster is working towards getting tickets into the hands of actual fans. I think that the reputation verified fan program was beautiful progress. Here is a statistic from it "the Verified Fan system has been effective, according to Ticketmaster, as about 95 percent of tickets purchased through it are not resold." That number is astronomically successful compared to the number of tickets already being sold for exorbitant amounts, just hours after they were purchased.
I say this with love, reverence, and admiration for everything else Ticketmaster has tried to do to help fans, but, why move away from these successful elements of the program when the percentage of tickets staying in fans' hands was so high? I hope that we, the fans, can join you in the progression toward a verified fan that seems fair to those who actually want to attend the shows. I think this could be the platform that gets it right and revolutionizes ticket sales.
But I say to Ticketmaster with all due respect, it’s not too late to change this policy and to actually remain "committed to getting more tickets into the hands of fans fairly." We aren’t asking you for free tickets, we just asking that fans actually get to buy them first.

i signed up for presale for miami and had my mom & dad sign up too lmao. my mom's first suggestion was for my dad to buy the tickets - assuming we get picked - bc he's not working rn so he has time. and i was like… well that's an idea! my 64 year old father who has never been at war (buying high demand concert tickets on ticketmaster dot com) should definitely do that.

Hi random question but do you have any tips for getting concert tickets? I feel like you’re so good and knowing when an artist you like is touring meanwhile unless they’re huge I generally miss the tour announcements until tickets are gone.
Hi! I’m the go-to person in my friend group for getting concert tickets and I get really lucky tbh. First things are to follow all of your favorite artists on social media, you favorites of all time maybe put their notifications on if you think it’s necessary. They always announce their tours about 24 hours before presale at least. Also sign up for their emails/mailing lists! You’ll get notified of the tour and also some artists send their presale codes for the sale through that so you’ll already have that taken care of.
For actually getting tickets, sadly Ticketmaster is likely the only option (in the US at least, if you’re not from here this whole section might not even apply lol) so here are some tips:
Have your payment method (aka credit card) presaved in your account before the sale even starts, it saves time in checkout. But also be sure to have multiple saved in case one doesn’t work as well as have them handy during presale.
Have multiple accounts, I usually use two computers or my phone and you can only use one account at a time during sales so having two accounts doubles your chances of getting through the queue quicker and able to get the tickets.
Try to be familiar with the venue your hoping to attend for the show, as well as your price range. I think you can google ‘*insert venue here* Ticketmaster map’ and a picture will come up if your unfamiliar with the venue, it helps to know what area your want tickets for ahead of time, less stress when the time comes.
If you’re unable to get tickets for a presale, keep trying! I couldn’t get tickets for the past row show I went to for two presales but got them in general sale. But also- if the artist you wanna see announced a tour a while ago and you think you missed it, still check! The Noah Kahan show I just went or was apparently sold out, but on my Spotify one day it just said he was performing near me and to get tickets click here, I looked and they’re were still tickets? So always check.
Hope this helps! ❤️

They’re playing venues that Lizzo and Taylor swift are playing. Tickets were never going to be cheap. Your main issue is that everybody wants pit tickets. Not everyone can have pit like the last tour. There’s limited spots. You guys don’t have to be close to them to have a good time. Just get seats and stop complaining. Greta puts on a good enough show that not getting pit is not the end of the world, I watched dreams in gold from the balcony and it was just as good as pit (ofc minus the annoying barricade girlies who get mad if you barely touch them) And it was not guessing the codes. It was the first 50 NFT holders. They got codes first and leaked them for money. It’s literally all over Twitter. Scalping doesn’t usually effect presale so bad, you wanna know why it did this time? Bc the first NFT holders literally sold the codes AND scalped the tickets themselves ☠️ Fans can be scalpers too. You can blame Ticketmaster all you want but this time it’s the fans fault. If you want to see them that bad, you’ll just get seat tickets and stop complaining because not everyone can get pit, just because you’ve been a fan for a long time doesn’t mean you’re entitled to any sort of special treatment. Seriously y’all are so fucking dramatic and for what ☠️☠️ I hope they pick you.
Do you feel better love? Do you feel so cool and unbothered about this? Need a hug and a kiss too?

I'm In A Palm Springs Mood
It was only about two and a half weeks before Harry Styles’ birthday that it was announced that he’d be having two birthday shows in Palm Springs, one on January 31st and a second on his actual birthday February 1st. As mentioned in the previous post I was already planning on seeing him on January 27th so when I saw the post I was intrigued and told myself that I’d stop at nothing to go see these shows.
That day I reposted the photo on my Instagram story when a friend that I went to high school with asked me that we should carpool down to Palm Springs for the shows. I enthusiastically agreed and adored the idea of driving down the 99 and the I-5 with a friend to see our lord and savior, Harry Styles. When the presale officially happened I was able to easily purchase two tickets for the January 31st show (thank you Ticketmaster), one for each of us. After purchasing the tickets she asked me if I was down to go with two of her other friends who were also going to the birthday shows. I absolutely loved the idea and every single road trip comedy in existence filled my head.
A couple days later she purchased two tickets for the February 1st show and was able to get an Airbnb for the four of us. After coming back from LA the morning of the 28th after seeing him the night previously my mind went on overdrive. I had to put together two different outfits and had only three days to do so.
If you’ve never been to a Harry Styles show one thing you should know is that everyone gets dressed to the nines. Think of people dressing up for Sunday church or prom your senior year of high school but add way more cowboy hats and flared trousers. I’ve thought long and hard about why this happens or where it even started and one theory comes to mind. I believe this is all based and influenced around Harry's own fashion statements. Fans wanting to interpret their own version of his outfits did so at his concerts and as time passed fans started to make their own statement pieces. Which was a BIG reason why I was so stressed about these two outfits I needed to put together.
After digging through my closet I found a champagne colored pussy bow blouse which was originally a back up outfit from another Harry concert and found a black denim jacket that I decided to paint. I pondered on what I’d paint on the jacket and decided that it’d say “I’m in a Palm Springs mood” a nod to Harry’s song “Satellite” where he sings “I’m in a LA mood”.
The morning of the first show on the 31st I hopped into the car with my three friends and we started our trek to Palm Springs! Six hours and an In-N-Out stop later we made it to our Airbnb and got ready for the show later that night. I put on the champagne colored pussy bow blouse and tied the bow on tight around my neck
Driving up to the Acrisure Arena the very first time I marveled at the beauty of the landscape. When I read that the venue was in the desert they were not kidding. Snow capped mountains are visible in the distance and palm trees and brush are everywhere. The scenery surrounding the arena is beautiful and is one of the most gorgeous concert venues I’ve ever been to in person. Acrisure also did a wonderful job decorating with a large “Happy Birthday Harry” sign and painted doors outside the venue.
Walking inside the doors of the venue, the actual size of it surprised me. Walking through the outer edges of the venue versus actually getting to your seat were two completely different experiences. Walking around the arena you pass by all of the food and drink stalls and even a decently sized bar. When my friend and I got to our seats which were located in the lower bowl we both looked at each other in amazement and marveled at how close we actually were to the stage. The actual intimacy of the venue is in large part because of its capacity. With a venue capacity of only 11,000 it puts it at a stark difference to the Kia Forum which is already an incredibly intimate venue and has a concert capacity of 18,000. After a wonderful opening set by Madi Diaz, Harry took the stage wearing red trousers and a green and yellow top with a bucket of popcorn on it. To no one’s surprise Harry slayed and did an amazing job. After the show my three friends and I drove back to the Airbnb and prepared ourselves mentally and physically for day two of Harry Styles.
On the morning of February 1st we ate breakfast and drove around town buying last minute accessories for the show later that evening. As routine as it was driving to the venue and paying for parking and going through security there was still a sense of wonder to the whole thing. As you walked around the venue you heard murmurs about an alleged special guest and the setlist for that night. Before Harry actually went on stage the energy was electrifying and incomparable to any other concert I’ve ever been to in my life. The energy from the audience felt physical. It was as if a cloud rested over everyones head that one could just reach out and grasp in their palm. And the entire show felt like that from the moment Harry walked on the stage to the moment he and the band took their bows at the end of the show.
Driving down to Palm Springs for the shows with friends, two of whom I met the day of the first show is an experience I’ll never forget. It’s one of the big reasons why I love road tripping for concerts with friends. It’s all of the little things that end up sticking with you and implanting in your memories. It’s the conversations you had in the car as you drove to the venue. It’s the speaking to each other in hoarse voices after the show. It’s the food you rush to eat after everything’s over.
I can’t wait to create more of these memories and see Harry again the next time he tours North America.
