Mine forever

Somehow, I managed to escape from the Navy without a tattoo, then lived the next 55 years or so uninked ... until Wednesday.

When I learned last month that son-in-law Tony Wilson was designing a batch of "flash" tattoos (so called because they're relatively quick and require no appointment) as an item of merch at Lord Huron/Red Rocks, I knew my time had come.

I perused the options and instantly decided upon the tombstone - a reference to the LH song "Not Dead Yet." Aware of my fondness for gallows humor, my daughter predicted it.

It's especially appropriate for a person of my vintage, wouldn't you say ...?

I'm so happy with it I have waited years to get it.

I'm sorry for the lack of stories. I'm currently on creativity low. I still have three more requests to do. I was pretty eager about Whumptober, but if I'm already feeling this low, I don't really know how that is going to go.

On a brighter note, I just got my first tattoo today. So I definitely have an idea for my sweet, sweet Whumpee.
