me and the grumpy old doctor i bonded with yesterday hihi
#him: *grabs my hands and puts them on the patient* you look like you can do this#i just had to bind a wound but it was big for me#letters from stephanie*#ORTHOPEDICS IS VERY COOOOOOOL#everything sparks my interest but it was cool to confirm that someone with my constitution can tackle that particular branch#of medicine because the young doctor who helped us looks just as incapable as me to deal with bones on first glance#BUT IT'S ABOUT THE SKILL NOT THE STRENGTH#i loveee clinic hours...

I'm tempted to invest in a cane of some sort. I have flat feet, plantar fasciitis, and severe chronic pain from these disabilities. I deal with a lot of pain in my feet and lower legs and sometimes it gets so bad to where I'm holding onto ledges and stuff around my apartment because I'm struggling to continue standing on my feet. I always had an issue with limping since I started learning to walk as a toddler but as an adult it's been getting a lot worse to where I trip and fall from how much I'm limping. I'm tired of sucking it in. I need a cane and I'm so tempted to ask my PCP on how to get one and how to use one. I might not be able to use it properly at my job but if I can use it around the house and neighborhood that could help me out a lot.
#i need to get some orthopedic shoes too those could help too#i might invest in the shoes first and if they don't help i'll ask my doc about getting a cane

Day 1 of orthopaedics. Did a two hour forest session with my virtual study group @studystream. Also started playing this new video game that got an amazing graphics and it is based on Indian mythology. Will see how the game turns out eventually.
My weakest subject is anatomy and that makes orthopaedics a bit tough for me. Might take a little longer for revising the subject but I hoping to complete the modules soon.

what pisses me off most about the situation with my knee is that by the time I got someone to take me seriously and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT it'd been quite literally a month (and a day) so whatever mobility I had gotten back from the initial injury healing over is entirely gone now. back to absolutely square Zero. not even one since the initial thing wasn't fuckin open and had to be sewn together with 11 stitches and then some. Just because no one wanted to HELP ME FOR FUCKS SAKE and kept delegating me to other people I will not be able to walk normally until September, if that.
or, you know, ever, bc this is going mess me up for the rest of my life for sure. at least I'll be dropping the crutches by September but STILL I sure hope I can get back to biking after this
#jamday#like#oh no sorry we can't do this! talk to us when you get this and that done.#the literal actual thing I was told to do was CALL YOU IMMEDIATELY but no#gotta get an MRT first.#orthopedic doctor i went to BEFORE THESE PEOPLE EVEN EXISTED decided not to see me#because we don't have anything to go by#by the time I had gotten the chance to get an appt for the thing I was told to get#they told me I'd have to get that operation.#might as well have done nothing for four weeks straight really

#My sister does a bunch of cadaveric research#You don’t want to be testing brand new orthopedic joints and implants for the first time on live people#Also they practice surgeries on cadavers#Fun fact: cadaveric is a word#It refers to something pertaining to a cadaver#Also litigious is a word too#It means people who are super litigation (aka lawsuit)-happy and will try to sue for pretty much anything#Also an important word in the surgeon field

doing exactly what i tell my customers at work NEVER to do and i bought shoes online without trying them on first. the first pair will fit because i have another pair by the same brand on the same base, but the second pair it’s 50/50 if it’ll fit or if it’ll gonna be too big but man i hope they fit 😭
#fuck you threadup#not actually#it was really funny and a little bit of divine intervention#bc i was JUST talking about the first pair with a friend#and how i wish it wasn’t sold out in my size and i’ve been thinking of them for over a year#and guess what appears on threadup?#the first thing i see?#THE SHOES#the other ones look like doc martin sandals but from an orthopedic brand that i like#so i’m hoping it fits#they’re a size seven which is a bit scary i’m usually a 6 1/2#in their stuff anyways

Dear united Healthcare please stop denying my request for left knee MRI pretty pretty please
#“Well you're all better now so the conservative treatment worked so you don't need it”#Actually it didn't#This far from the first time I've had this exact injury of this exact nature and it will not be the last#The problem isn't that the conservative treatment doesn't work it's that it doesn't STAY working#In 3-4 months I'll be right back in the orthopedics office with the exact same issue#And it's not like I played too hard at sport in school and got the kind of injuries that would normally cause this kind of reccurring issue

You're more amazing than 5am
Getting to the endgame of Trauma Team, and I gotta say, the difficulty has been nothing compared to Under the Knife. I haven't failed a single operation, and even the scoring system is fucked up; I made 4 mistakes on a level, and still got an S rank. You had to sell your soul for an A rank in UtK, but here they hand them out like halloween candy
#asks#but this is the last game in the series and also a spin off and also a wii game#i'm still curious about UtK2's difficulty. it's the 4th game and a ds game and main series. and it's also called “Under the Knife 2”#and i'll probably play New Blood too because the tool wheel feels SO GOOD! i want to use it MORE!#glad to be finishing up with Trauma Team tho because i don't really like the alternate playstyles#diagnosis is boring and forensics is boring AND frustrating AND dumb#endoscopy is this weird first-person thing with movement and it's just kinda awkward. also they forced motion controls into it#orthopedics isn't frustrating or boring but it's just scripted actions. no time limit or vitals so it's pretty relaxed but not very excitin#and also it wants you to be precise with motion/pointer controls. ew#first response is neat but it has a lot of just spamming stabilizer#also the one time i lost a patient was when i had to move their broken foot into place and they took like 50 damage#like what the fuck? you die of broken foot? bullshit#i STILL don't get what happened there because every other broken bone realignment did fairly reasonable damage#also to be clear i didn't fail the level. you're sometimes allowed to let people die in first response. lol#replayed it tho because NO i'm not losing my perfect record to Death By Broken Foot Hurty#anyway yeah surgery is the best game mode. who would've guessed lol

now our other dog has to have an emergency surgery (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ᴗ °̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)
#ns posts#back in january our dog partially tore his acl and a bit ago it fully tore. he's on strict bedrest and some painkillers.#theres an animal orthopedics place thats about to open up nearby they just need to have their inspection first and then theyre gonna call u#we just saved up abt enough to cover for that surgery when it happens#and now our other dog hasn't been eating much for the past couple days and shes had the runs#she had a vet visit today and apparently her kidney and liver are damaged.#/and/ there's some kind of mass in her stomach they almost definitely have to surgically remove#theyre waiting on ultrasound results first to see what it is#ngl the financial situation is pretty dire rn. but also like the two of them are rlly young still so euthanasia is out of the question.

The best place for joint health care is AmiCare Hospital in Ghaziabad. It’s a safe place where cutting-edge technology and caring attention come together. We know how important it is to have a strong foundation, like your bones, in a city where everything constantly changes.

Re: that last post.
One reason I probably overthink various injury processes in my writing sometimes. :,D
"Okay. Let's look at some anatomy diagrams... oh, oh no..."
Alternatively:
"Okay. Let's look at some anatomy diagrams... oh, oh yeah..."
