the house was quiet. he was resting peacefully besides levi, worn out from their festivities of the night. akila was out with friends and wouldn't be home any time soon, so the two had taken advantage of having the place to themselves for a little while. his arm is protectively wrapped around the other's shoulders, holding him close to his side. finn never wanted to let him go.

just as he's about to reposition himself, he hears a noise. his body stiffens and he does his best to try and figure out where it's coming from, but he's unable to pinpoint it. "levi - wake up. did you hear that?" // @bruiscdmouth

for the first time in a long time, finn feels giddy. he's been anticipating his date with evie all week. akila had questioned him of course, but he had given her some bullshit answer as to why he was happy and what he had planned for the weekend. she didn't suspect a thing.

he can't help but stare at the beautiful blonde sitting across from him. how did he get so lucky? he's sure so many people before him have asked her out and gotten rejected. finn feels as if he's hit the lottery.

"it is, isn't it? no wonder the wait list in months long." he had done some bargaining to get a spot tonight. the irish man was willing to pull all the ropes he had to in order to impress her. "of course. my pleasure, really. i still can't believe you agreed."

time skip~

evie has enough time between seeing him and getting dinner: she's finally accepted that she's really doing this by the time they're being seated at the restaurant. she's really dating someone she met on the job. the way she looks off the clock is markedly different: her makeup light and soft, the dress that she's wearing pink and sweet. there's an excitable aura about her as she takes her seat, a smile that she can't seem to wipe off her face. of course finn had given her exactly what she wanted and she's thrilled to finally eat at a restaurant she'd had her eye on. the only thing better would have been actually taking him up on the vacation offer, but she supposes that can wait.

"this place is even more beautiful than it is in the pictures," she muses, sighing softly as she looks around. evie has enough money that she could probably afford eating out like this more often, but any extra cash she has goes straight into her savings for her future bakery. it's rare for her to treat herself like this. "thank you for taking me here," she adds, gaze moving back to his, a shy smile on her face.

About Me:

I’m a 16 year old who loves writing about my favorite characters that live in my head rent free. I’m currently ending my sophomore year and moving to junior year; I found out that I’ll be 17 as a senior which is kinda weird. I speak English as a first language but I have a bit of dyslexia so I tend to add a word that didn’t need to be there or I forgot a word. If you notice it and I haven’t just hit me up and I’ll fix it along with that kind gesture I’ll also ask for you to give me a prompt/idea that you may want me to write, I love hearing other’s ideas and helping them to put it to paper. I tend to be very step by step writer because I like to give a very good visual representation of what’s going down but I tend to do it badly but it’s in the process of becoming more refined and better.

Glee Musical Retrospective: Like a Prayer (Power of Madonna)

You know - this is one of those songs that's really indicative of what Madonna is all about. I mean - is it a religious song, is it about a blow job? Who knows? That's for you to decide. The thing, though, is that it's a catchy little number that makes for a great showstopping set piece to end the episode on. Let's dig in...

Story Analysis

Most of the time, Glee ends on a musical number that kind of wraps up the story of the episode being told. A nice thematic button at the end. While I'm going to pull on a couple of thin threads, I think this song is more so embracing the bold power of Madonna than it is saying something about the actual story.

Which is an interesting thing! Because - is there one major thematic element to the story lines of this episode? Nope - they're are a lot of things happening in this episode, but their mostly continuing story lines that are bound together by the backdrop of Madonna. So, it only makes sense that the final song is ending on one of Madonna's most famous musical numbers and showcasing how Glee has become a giant, bright spectacle than anything particular in the story.

Part of the chorus that continues like chant - a couple of lines stand out. And it's almost like a nod to Madonna herself -- because for Ryan Murphy, Madonna's voice did take him there. She is a muse to him, and we wouldn't have this episode at all if Ryan Murphy wasn't obsessed with her. So, I think it's fitting that the final song is, in a way, ending on a meta note in its tribute to Madonna.

Rachel starts off the number alone on the stage - and it's playing to the actual lyrics. Of course she's going to kick it off - cause since we've been back from hiatus, she has become, really, the main character. But it also plays to the fact that she was alone -- but she isn't anymore. She has friends and lovers and a team she can rely on. And it is her home. It's a nice beat when the everyone comes in.

Finn gets a solo! I do like that he's looking at Rachel - as I think it's a nod that Finn is kind of making his way back to her after the messiness he's gone through in the past few episodes.

I have no choice, I hear your voice Feels like flying

I love this little solo by Kurt (his voice sounds so lovely on it) -- do I think it has anything to do with the story? Can I pull any analysis out of my butt? No, I really can't. The only thing I can say is that this is his first solo within a group song - and maybe he and Mercedes going rogue did have a mini impact on Will. But maybe more so - I think this is an indication that Kurt's about to get a whole hell of a lot more screen time.

I can joke all I want about the sexual implications of this song (and they are there, I'm not crazy) but if there's one character who is going to take the more religious take, it's Mercedes. Her faith is very important to her, and this is a nice little nod to that.

Technical Thoughts

There's a gospel choir guys! It's a nice way to kind of down the more risqué elements of this song, lol. But no - really, it's such a nice thing because they bring such a nice, big sound to the song. It makes it more playful and fun and big. The show really isn't about doing a dark, little high school satire anymore. They've embraced the big, the bold and (we'll be getting it a lot more later) gay. I love this Glee, though, so I'm happy. But I have to wonder (because I was not in fandom or even paying much attention then) how people felt about it at the time.

Vocals are strong and solid. I think this is a good song for Rachel. Finn sounds good on his solo lines -- because they're in his lower register and they're lyrical and he does really well with it. Of course, Kurt sounds so clear and perfect. And Mercedes really shines. I love that both Rachel and Mercedes get to do the high tones and the runs - their voices really do mesh pretty well.

It's interesting that they're wearing red - is it to offset the choir's yellows? Is there another reason? @snarkyhag - if you get a second, please share your costuming insights! I do like that they aren't completely uniform (in the way they usually are for these ending numbers) but each has their own little bit of style to it.

The dancing is amusing as always. The gospel choir and the quick editing cuts kind of hides it, but while they're clearly getting better as a group, the dancing is still kind of the weakest element. But that's okay. Everyone seems like they're having a ton of fun.

Oh, also a super subtle thing, but I noticed it because I tend to watch these things a bunch of times -- watch Jesse, he's kind of sizing Finn up, and kind of wanting to knock him out of the way for being front and center at the beginning of the song.

Also fun fact - Amber's mom is in the choir - she's standing with Amber in the center near the end of the song. :)

Glee Live

I believe this is from the first tour. Interestingly, I think both Lea and Amber actually sound stronger as vocalists here than they do on the show! Which is really cool - they do a great job here. I also love that Chris still gives Amber a kiss, too.

I really do love this song, it's so much fun.

vs. The Studio Version: So, there's an added verse and whole lot of repeated chorus. Also wanna note that Jesse gets a solo line - where everything is a dream. Kind of fascinating, because who is Jesse in all of this mess? Is he being real or is he a spy?? Nice touch. Also - this song is a good three minutes longer than the show version. I realize Madonna's version is just as long - but, idk, it feels like it had a natural conclusion then keeps going for a couple more minutes.

vs. The Original Version: Oohh - this was so controversial back in the day. Crazy, right? Anyway - another one of Madonna's classic 80s synth pop sounds. I kind of love that Glee turns it into more of a rock song, while still keeping the integrity of the original.

Finn doesn't know how this will end. Akila has a tendency to be forgiving, but he wasn't sure if her and Levi's friendship would survive. He had no hope for her to be kind towards him once the truth was out. Could he really blame her, if she never wanted to speak to him again?

He didn't really know what to say to that. When it came down to it, he had been the only one to come in between his and Akila's relationship. "Hey, come on. You are special, my love. It's why I'm willing to risk it all, just for you." He can feel the blond tense underneath him. Finn starts to rub circles on his back. "You'll have to trust me. I understand it'll be hard at first, considering what I've done but...I hope you will learn to one day. I'll do everything I can just so you know that you're the only one for me."

Levi understands. He doesn't want to see her hurt. He knows she's going to be hurt. He viciously wonders if her sadness will lure Finn back in. It's a mean thought. Levi's never really been the most kind. Spitting and biting most of his life to survive. "Only you can make the decision." Levi sighs softly. He swallows down the rest of what he wants to say. "I want you. I don't care." He does care but he wants Finn more. He's always wanted Finn more. Levi wonders what's going to happen. If the fall out will be too much for Finn. If Levi's going to blow up their marriage and not get what he wants in the end.

"You never thought anything could come between you but you've only been fighting and cheating on her?" Levi squints as he says it. It sounds delusional, just a little bit. He tries to breathe steadily, like he's not getting increasingly upset. "I'm not even the only one. Don't even feel special anymore." He snorts as he exhales softly. Levi knows it's going to be worse for her; Akila's had them both. They've all had each other. "How could I ever trust you not to cheat on me?"

Favorite episode and why

blood must not have blood aka the s2 finale!!! it's just so incredible. everything is building to this horrible decision that clarke has to make and i love how she's basically where she was in the first episode. like it was always going to end that way she was always going to have to pull that lever and she tried everything to come to any other outcome, she sacrificed finn, she let the bomb drop on TonDC and it didn't work, and as awful as it is, it is arguably her most heroic moment so. also i love how it sets up s3, the murphy stuff is great and clarke leaving is brilliant, the clexa betrayal is supreme and the blarke goodbye is amazing. even tho s3 didn't rlly deliver so well on those threads, it was just iconic!!

The 100 Rewatch 2023

Earth Skills, ep 1.2

ok here we go. I thought this intro was ep 1. But no it's just excessive introing.

Running kids. Through green woods. Pretty woods. Monty falls and finds a human skeleton. lol. Either a gorilla or mutant human skeleton. "What are they?" lol

Clarke hears Jasper screaming and is like oh no he's alive she runs back with Finn trying to grab her back and he's gone. "They took him"

Back on the Ark. The first rumbles of political trouble. People wnat to know where their delinquents are. Abby is worried about the dark bracelets. Oooh Chancellor Jaha sees Wells bracelet is dark. "My son..."

Kane thinks the earth is false hope and Abby is forever hopeful that theres another reason why the bracelets are going dark.

HEre's wells digging graves alone. I have always wondered what they could have done with his character. He's so lawful good and hardworking.. Meanwhile the idiot delinquents are screwing around and acting like young children without a care. I suppose they don't know about the grounders yet, but they know they're hungry right? Why aren't they looking for food? Stupid kids. We now know that they had special earth skills classes, so the info should still be fresh even if they didn't all listen.

I do like the drumming though. Nice touch. Too bad they didn't do that anymore.

Oh Atom trying to take the kids clothes and half naked Bellamy posing with the sexy girl outside the dropship. My theory is that the girl ripped off his shirt and that's why he takes the shirt from Wells and now has his iconic blue shirt.

Fucking murphy is torturing a girl before taking her bracelet off and now Wells asks Bellamy to stop this. He's just getting started.

Oh murphy jumps him and punches him but Wells is actually tougher than him and wins the fight. I don't think Bellamy actually agreed with that dumb fight. He's not really on Murphy's side He just needs to be tough guy.

Why does Bellamy arm Wells and tell him "fair fight." Dumbass. Murphy wants to kill Wells for his father. And then Clarke comes back and scolds WELLS. Dude he was just defending himself.

UH OH THE REVEAL THERE ARE GROUNDERS HERE. survivors. That means they can survive.

Bad news is the grounders will kill them. They impaled Jasper and took him. Clarke is mad about them taking off the wrist band.

NEW REVEAL The Ark is dying. "you're not just killing them, you're killing us."

Oooh. Bellamy "Don't listen to her she's one of the privileged. The wrist band makes you a prisoner. We're not criminals anymore. You're fighters, survivors. The grounders should worry about us!" OH THE INSPIRATION.

I really don't care about Jaha. I never liked him. He's elitist and unfair and lacks empathy and doesn't care about those he writes off. He's not totally bad but not my fave. HE's trying to convince Abby to do a culling. He says hope is not enough.

"Hope is everything," Abby says.

Now Kane, the opposing force. Tells him about Bellamy Blake shot him. "Who benefits most from my death." Oh he's implying Kane did it. lol. "I follow the law. I did my job." "this job requires more than following the law. it requires when not to." Yeah but Jaha, you only follow the law when it benefits you. And I know you have a crush on Abby, we see it later. Wait is that why he floated Clarke's dad? And saved abby from floating? well it's a narrative thread that didn't go anywhere.

Wells is making packs from seatbelts and insulation. He's so handy. I wrote a fic once where that was a character trait. Clarke won't let Monty come with them to find Jasper. She says he'll save us all. FINN says he won't.

See now. This is like the second or third time when he's like 'fuck everyone else,' i do what's best for me. And the girlies I like whether it's selfish or not.

Bellamy and O, taking care of her wound. She wants to go with Clarke, and she's like, nah your leg is gonna slow us down. I'm here for YOU (Bellamy) and then she plays him and says if he doesn't go everyone will think he's scared.

This is a good search team though. Clarke, Bellamy, Wells, Murphy and asshole Finn. Wells and Clarke are plotting to use Bellamy. Bellamy and Murphy are plotting against Clarke.

Ohhhh RAVEN MAH BABY! Big smile. Asking why an exodus ship was launched/ejected. Maintenance accident that didn't cause any damage? She's suspicious. Prison visiting day.

Now Atom is in charge of building a wall. O says he's too hot to be my brother's bitch. She has THE WORST lines. Oh the guy O was with was in for murder, but Atom is protecting him from HER. I am not enjoying the O storyline. She gets better once Lincoln shows up I think.

Raven and Abby, question about quarantine in lockup. Raven pushes back at her secrets "and I'm gonna find out what it is." Raven reminds Abby of Clarke.

I'm getting tired of the Wells vs Murphy thing. But it's definitely important. I guess I just wish it hadn't been a storyline. Ugh Finn shows up finally and Clarke is relieved. Baby, you're gonna regret that.

Bellamy works Wells about his love for CLarke because with Finn around she doesn't even see him. "It's almost like you're not even here."

No. O is really annoying. She's helping Monty though.trying to reverse engineer the wristband. O isn't that annoying with Monty. He asks how she's not a basket case being raised under the floor. She says 'who says i'm not' then Atom says she's not a basket case because of Bellamy. Well that's a set up for her entire storyline. Not until season seven does she come to grips with her life without bellamy. But the rest of the story went to shit then. That was probably part of the story before they sacrificed bellarke for purple aliens.

Ugh Finn trying to make her play in the water when she's trying to find Jasper. Really. Do you not understand the word no? Now he's psychoanalyzing her. I'm looking to see if he's a bit of a cassandra. I'm not really seeing it so far. He has his own agenda and pushes it, and it's mostly about impressing her. It has always pissed me off that he was going to leave Jasper to die with no guilt. THat's NOT a lawful good. Or chaotic good. Chaotic neutral maybe. He might be right about her wanting to save Jasper because she couldn't save her father but it's still intrusive. ANd that's not telling the future, that's psychoanalyzing and trying to manipulate her frankly.

They find Jasper's blood and Finn says they're close.

Right. Raven is snooping and figures out why the kids wristbands are dying. They're taking them off. lol. "Why would they do something so reckless??" oh how naive you sound Jackson.

Oh and the shining butterfly. Oh that's nice. SHe chases it. I bet Lincoln is watching her, not that we know that yet. And that means he sees her with Atom. Kissy kissy. So romantic. First kiss surrounded by luminescent butterflies. He's actually sweet about it. Meanwhile there's a peeping tom in the trees. (Will be honest, there are some creepy elements about lincoln and O. Like how old is he? She's only 16 right? I mean age doesn't really matter on the earth but still. It's creepy now.)

Finn has learned tracking from earth skills. I mean it's an explanation. We hear moaning. What could it be? JASPER tied to a tree. That wound is right in the middle of his chest. How did he survive. Finn sets Wells to protect Clarke against Bellamy.

Abby explains why they are taking off the wrist bands to buy time. Ooh all those councillors we've never seen again. Voting for the culling. The culling is when this story really takes off I think.

I find myself annoyed by some of the kids and jarred by the Ark story as being a bit too boring and political and slow. Jaha abstains from voting to buy Abby ten days.

Uh oh the panther. Wells has stolen Bellamy's gun. I thought he was a bad shot but he does hit the panther, first, it just doesn't deter it. And then he shoots it again just as it was lunging for Bellamy, thus saving his life.

Abby calls Raven for a work order. She tells her the ark is dying. And that they're going to start the culling. The youngest zero g mechanic in fifty years. Now fix my ancient tin can. Same piece of junk that they find in Polis. Abby is going to the ground and Raven with her. Or so they think.

Jasper is back alive. Bellamy and Murphy haul in MEAT. Finn makes Clarke a little two headed dear out of metal. And we see Raven's metal origami raven necklace. You slimy two timing dick.

Kid line up for meat and agree to take off their bracelets. Clarke gets pissed. Finn plays hero again and gets her dinner.

Wait you think you play by different rules? Murphy asks.

"I thought there were no rules," Finn says. That's a good line.

Bellamy hangs Atom from a tree when he finds him with O. "I won't be disobeyed." I guess he feels he's losing control. He's kinda dick. Although we knew that.

Some important canon divergences:

-if we don't plot, my default answers for memes and starters when we first begin writing may be after season 3 but canon divergent: they aren't under the threat of world destruction again (yet), Rohan honored the coalition so they are at 'peace' with the grounders, and Clarke and some of the others are staying at Becca's house, sort of a sidegroup so Wanheda isn't going to put a target on Arkadia with her presence. This is so that we can write ALL the plots we want without worrying about timelines. Either that or the depressing but with hope 'after season 6' when there is no time/planet traveling and they are just learning how to live in this new world (not freeing all the Eligius criminals at once), and dealing with various traumas. But it's not a must!

-I do headcanon/write that after having the Flame in her head, Alie's chip, blood transfusions in an unhigenic place after being tortured by her chipped mother, Clarke's brain and body wil take time to recover after s3, even if the Flame was removed correctly. She has pains in her neck sometimes, and her PTSD symptoms got heightened. She also hates being completely alone at this point, even before what happens with Praimfaya.

-important: Wells was her best friend for her entire life before being sent to Earth: Clarke is still in pieces, probably always will be, over losing him. She will think of him/mention him.

-Lexa and Finn are on the same level in her memories, more or less: people she knew for a couple of weeks/one month, she had romantic feelings for, felt betrayed by and sort of forgave before they died horribly, which means their death had more weights than their short romance, and to me Finn has more romantic weight seeing as he was her first and there was a whole 'cheating' situation that made things even harder, but they also lived together and survived together during their first month on Earth. I'm sorry to Cle.xa shippers but I cannot see how Clarke and Lexa had any time to get to really know and like each other when they were constantly apart or Clarke was justifiably refusing to see her after Lexa's betrayal pushed her to pull the lever in Mount Weather. And this after their first kiss was very shortly after Clarke felt forced to stab Finn to spare him from torture.

-She mourns both but not as extensively as in canon: Finn, though, makes her feel extremely guilty and responsible, on top of being someone she had to mercy-kill, and stays with her also as a trauma and reminder that her love kills. Lexa is connected to the first 'worst moments' of her life, and very directly so, and Clarke has mixed feelings there; but since Lexa was shot by someone who wanted to kill Clarke and right after they slept together, guilt wins there too. She's not in love with Lexa for years after her death.

-if a Bellamy rper wants to write shippy things, Clarke has been in love with him without realizing it ever since season 2. If they don't, she has no love interest when interacting with him unless plotted otherwise (she'll still have the occasional hook up with Niylah, though, but she's happily single). If a Murphy rper wants to write shippy things we will have to write that development from scratch with our thread (which is how rp generally goes). With the others I may default to Clarke having feelings for Bellamy, though, as that's what I took from the show, but having no intention of doing anything about it, especially once he's with Echo (whom my Clarke likes, by the way).

-I absolutely want to explore the fact that Clarke in the first seasons is a TEENAGER who had the weight of the world on her shoulders (after a year in solitary which is traumatizing by itself) and can still act like one sometimes. Should, in fact, be given the chance to just have a bit of fun. It didn't take long to convince her to get into the fun at the end of the very first episode, when Jordan swung to the other side of the river, she did join the party in their camp even if it was short lived, she just doesn't have time for it.

-If Madi exists and s5 happens, Clare is not going to crawl for people's forgiveness after season 5; as far as she sees it they were saving their family and she was saving hers: they wanted to put a chip that is a death sentence in her daughter's head (Bellamy) and wanted her to lead an army (the others) and she fought for her. She may apologize for hurting people in general but if prodded she will not hesitate bringing up that they made her daughter the Commander, robbing her of her life, and argue over most things she's accused of. She's going to fight back, despite agreeing that she's a terrible person. In fact if we go down that route she may be somewhat resentful around Spacekru (minus Echo who didn't attack her and they talked things out when Echo was being "kept hostage" anyway and she was told Bellamy was still alive after the arena). Even so, she also wishes for forgiveness and loves them but doesn't feel like part of their family/group. -This is also why I'm hesitant but interested in writing her with Raven: I think they'd fight a lot in later seasons and I'm not too comfortable writing hostility even if it gets fixed, unless I know the other rper and we can talk ooc too (so I know we are not actually annoying each other!) but I'd also love to write them finally going at it and then returning to be friends!

-With Octavia she actually doesn't have any particular issue because even if we write her as having become Blodraina, Clarke sees her as having lost her mind and she knows she decided to follow Madi by the end. So while she's very careful because she doesn't know if Octavia is dangerous to her now, it's an easier relationship than with Raven, Clarke isn't particularly hostile, just cautious, and if you write Octavia going through her character development in s6 (okay maybe without going into s7 with time-traveling) Clarke is there for her, especially because she knows how having to make impossible choices (genocide/cannibalism) can make you lose yourself. -She would apologize to Bellamy for forgetting he's part of the family, yes, but she'd also remind him he promised to protect Madi and then left Clarke herself locked behind while he took her daughter to Gaia and put a target on her back. Literally. A target that changed her too, and that she has to learn how to control so she's not overwhelmed by the Commanders.

-If we do write season 6, she'll bring up to Murphy how fast he cooperated with her murderer Josephine, though this would be without particular resentment given how things turned out; she'd reference it to return the favor of Murphy not letting her off the hook for a second after season 5.

-Clarke is apologetic about causing pain, especially if she decides it was wrong, and will always agree she's a bad person, but she will not think she was wrong nor apology for protecting her people, and is not that submissive.

scenarios:

-I'm also here to write enormous canon divergences, as in: long stretches of time when nothing happens, or no Praimfaya at all, or maybe there is Praimfaya and she manages to get back in time to go to space, or she's stuck on Earth with Madi but then there is no Diyoza situation yet and the others just come back, or maybe season 5 goes normally and then at the end Earth isn't bombed and they live in it, OR it happens like canon and I'm willing to write season 6 too… but NO SEASON 7. Nothing from season 7 and that includes things that started happening in season 6 related to it (time and dimension traveling lights, Hope grown up coming back for Octavia etc). I'm more than happy to write 'life after big events' (which includes us writing bad things happening to them). But also as in her taking a different approach with those characters, changing their relationships, opening up earlier/more, or having other off-canon adventures that bring them closer.

their plates have been cleared for a while now, but the alcohol was still flowing. it was date night for the murphy's and tonight they had decided to try a new spot. nothing too fancy, but not a hole in the wall, either. a happy medium. finn is happily sipping on his beer as akila recounts her weekend at bridget's. his blue hues are full of adoration as he nods along.

"can you believe it? the pool boy!" she ends the story with a shake of her head, reaching for her own glass. her free hand is laced through her husband's on top of the table. "a lovely place, don't you think? the staff has been wonderful, and the food? divine!" she's probably had too much to drink, but finn was driving, so it did not matter. as their waitress approaches, she smiles, showing off pearly whites as she lets go of finn and reaches for her. "you have been so lovely. do you have much longer in your shift?" akila asks out of curiosity. // @spillurgvts

"oh, can i just keep you forever? you seem like a hoot." akila giggles before excusing herself to the kitchen to retrieve several items for the woman. she can hear finn's voice in her head, yelling because she had left a stranger unattended in their very expensive home with their very expensive things. akila waves off the mental warning of her husband before returning to the living room.

handing her a bottle of water and ibuprofen, she takes her seat again on the arm of the couch. "i've been there before. just last week, actually. when i woke up the next morning, i truly thought i was dying. it had to be the worst hangover of my life. got some eggs and mimosas in me and didn't feel a thing afterward." she is growing curious as to how mia had ended up in this situation, with no friends making sure she got home alright. "if there's anything else you need, please, let me know. its been a while since we've had a guest in our home."

mia has a habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and this is no exception. she's fulling expecting to be escorted out, if not leaving with some kind of charges against her. it really wouldn't be the first time. but, the woman seems...strangely calm. for once luck may be on her side, which isn't something she knows how to deal with. a hesitant smile appears on her features, brows furrowing as she tries to process whatever is going on. is she dreaming?

"uh...honestly, any of that would be great. this is the worst hangover i've had in months." she tries to smooth out her hair, tucking her straight locks behind her ears. "akila, has anyone ever told you that you're...too fucking nice?" nicer than jared, even. she doubts her friend is even worried about her: and for good reason. she tends to get in the worst situations, but always worms her way out of them.

You woke to the mumbling noise of others talking. With a groan you sat up, whining at the pain you felt in your stomach.

You recognized the voices as Clarke, Bellamy, Raven and Octavia. You couldn’t make everything they were saying out, but Octavia was angry. Slowly you spun your legs around so they were dangling off the edge of the table, crouching slightly so you could hear better. A couple of words stood out more than others ‘bomb’ ‘Lincoln’ ‘Anya’ Who were these people? You could hear Raven’s voice getting louder.

“I’m not having this conversation again. I did what I had to.”

The moment your feet touched the ground you instantly regretted trying to stand up. You stumbled forward with a loud thumb, alerting the others to your presence. The hitch to the room opened, and you saw a head of black hair moving quickly. It was Octavia. She wrapped her arms around and squeezed tightly. “Oh my god Alba, you gave me such a fright.”

You hugged her back. “O, I’m okay. I promise.”

She pulled back from the hug, and you could see the tears in her eyes. “I thought you were going to die...I really did.”

You opened your mouth to ask Octavia about the grounder that stabbed you, but quickly closed it when Clarke came up the ladder.

With a frown she helped you stand up. “Hey, I don’t want you bursting those stitches.”

“Nice to see you as well Clarke.”

Clarke’s frown softened, “how do you feel?”

You paused before answering her question, because you honestly had no idea what you felt. The memory of what happened to you was hazy. You remembered being stabbed, because you pushed Finn out of the way. Finn. “How’s Finn?”

Clarke glanced over at Octavia before answering. “He’s fine, now.”

“What do you mean now? Did he get stabbed as well?”

Octavia stood by you and squeezed your hand. “You are both okay now, that’s what matters. The blade was poisoned. It caused you and Finn to both have seizures.”

Clarke sighed, “Finn didn’t get stabbed, but he had a cut on his hand and somehow got the poison in it.”

This didn’t make any sense. If you and Finn were fine, why did they both look miserable? “How long have I been out for?”

“Long enough.” Clarke shook her head, “After I check your stitches, I’m sure Octavia will fill you in what’s been going on.”

Your eyes nearly popped out of your head with the information Octavia had told you. Finn and Lincoln had set up a peace meeting that resulted in a war starting. Bellamy and Clarke had found weapons. Raven had managed to communicate with the ark. Murphy was back. Octavia explained how the grounders used him as a weapon to spread a virus around the camp, and they had blown up the bridge to try and give them more time. Something else had gone, your friend was holding back.

“O, I need to ask you something. You might think I’m crazy, but I’m so sure of it.”

Octavia stared at you nervously, she nodded her head. “Yeah?”

You spoke quietly so nobody else could hear what you were about to say. “The grounder that stabbed me...I don’t think he wanted to hurt me.”

“He didn’t.” Octavia let out a deep sigh, “I need to tell you something, so please don’t hate me. I let the Lincoln...the grounder who stabbed you escape.”

You were confused. “Escape from where?”

“Here.” She said waving her arms around the room. It suddenly occurred to you that they wouldn’t have carried you to the top floor of the drop-ship straight away. “Bellamy and his gang of thugs brought him back here for information. When Lincoln didn’t talk they began torturing him. I was afraid they would kill him...so once I got what I needed I helped him go.”

Octavia pulled up her sleeve to reveal the cut on her arm, you leaned in closer to inspect it. “O, what did you do?”

“Lincoln wasn’t going to give us the antidote, but I trusted he wouldn’t let me die so I cut my arm with the same blade he stabbed you with.” She paused, “Lincoln saved my life before. He blew the fog horn that stopped the other grounders from killing you.” Of course, it was starting to make sense. “He never wanted to hurt you. He asks me all the time if you are awake, he wants to apologize.” You had no words. Nobody had ever done anything like that for you before. You pulled Octavia into a hug that surprised her. “I thought you would be mad at me.”

You shook your head. “I’m not mad Octavia, I’m really proud of you.” You pulled back from the hug to point at her arm. “You did that to save me and Finn. And I’m glad you helped him escape.”

Octavia smiled at you. “I was so scared you’d hate me Al, I dunno what I do if I’d lose you.”

You shook your head with a slight chuckle, “is there anything else I need to know?”

Octavia shrugged, “probably. But my mind has gone blank.”

You looked out the window into the camp below. Everything looked normal, as if nothing ever happened. “Fancy helping me get down them ladders? I know Clarke said I should stay up there until she gets back from hunting, but I’m so bored.”

“Pissing off the princess? Now that I can help you with.”

After a while Octavia went off to see Lincoln, and you promised to cover for her if anybody asked. You spoke to Monty and Jasper briefly, who filled you in on the whole camp getting high after eating some nuts.

“Y/N!”

You turned to see Raven stepping out of her tent. She had a wide smile on her face as she hugged you. “I’m so glad you are okay!”

“Thanks Raven.” You stepped back, “I told you I’d keep your boy safe.”

A look of sadness washed over Raven’s face, something was wrong. She must have sensed you were going to ask because she shook her head. “I’m fine honestly. I just can’t thank you enough, Finn probably would have died if it wasn’t for you.”

Raven blinked away the tears in her eyes, “I better get back to work.”

“Are you sure? Whatever is going on you can tell me.”

She nodded. “Thanks, I just-” you followed her gaze to Finn, who was standing laughing with Clarke. Oh. “I just need to get back to making more bullets.”

You felt guilty for not following her, but the best thing to do was let her have time to herself. It couldn’t have been easy watching the person you love loving someone else. The feeling of a pair of arms wrapping around you from behind took you off guard. All the hugging was starting to hurt.

You chuckled, “who’s squeezing me now?”

The person spun you around to face them. Murphy. Tears started to spill from the corners of your eyes. You never thought you’d see him again. In typical Murphy fashion, he pouted when he saw your tears. “Are you disappointed that I’m back? No need to cry-”

You cut him off by pressing your lips against his, it wasn’t a passionate kiss. It was soft and gentle. Pulling back from him you smiled, “I’m so glad you are alive Murphy, I heard about the grounders.”

He looked down at you, “yeah. I don’t know who hates me more, the people in the camp or outside it.”

You took his hand. “Come on, you can tell me about it while I check you over.”

“Ouch!”

“Don’t be a baby, give me your hand.”

You had been pouring leftover alcohol onto Murphy’s fingernails to make sure they weren’t going to get infected. Clarke obviously hadn’t given him the once over because he still had a couple of deep cuts that needed to be stitched up.

“Thanks,” you glanced up at Murphy. “I mean it Alba, nobody else even looks at me. They all think I’m a traitor.”

You frowned, “I’m glad you told them. If not they would have killed you.”

“Maybe I’d be better-”

“No!” You snapped, knowing where he was going with this. “Don’t say that! Don’t even think about it! I’d be lost without you Murphy, and you might not think it now but things will get better someday. For all of us.”

Murphy tilted his head to the side and brushed a stay tear that had fallen down your cheek. He had made some really bad judgment calls since landing on the ground, but you knew Murphy was a good guy. He just had a tough start in life.

“So, did you have a welcome party waiting for you to wake up?”

You appreciated Murphy changing the subject, a small smile pulled at the corner of your lips. “I...I fell off the bed,” you laughed. “I tried to stand up but it didn’t work. Octavia rushed up to see me, then Clarke came to check on my stitches...oh and I spoke to Raven.” Murphy pulled a face at your comment. “What?”

“I’m guessing your new BFF didn’t tell you how things went down with the grounder? I mean...I know I wasn’t here but I’ve heard things. And shit, she got dark.”

“Octavia already told me about Bellamy torturing Lincoln...I...wait, when you said ‘she’ do you mean Raven?” Murphy nodded. “Raven helped torture the grounder?”

“I heard she shocked him with wires.”

You were lost for words. You didn’t know Raven that well, but you assumed she wouldn’t have stooped to that level. Wait...Finn. She did it for somebody she loved. “No, O never mentioned it.”

Murphy suddenly stood up, “what was that?” You turned to look in his direction to the flaps of the tent, and shrugged. “I thought I saw somebody was standing there.”

“Probably just the wind.”

When night fell most of the delinquents gathered around the fire. A few couples strayed to have some privacy, while others stayed and got drunk. You twiddled with a piece of thread that was coming from your top. Trying to process so many things at once was hard, and it was starting to give you a headache.

Sighing, you said goodnight to Monty, Jasper and Octavia, and headed towards your tent. As you approached your tent you noticed movement inside it. Shit. Gulping down you reached for the gun tucked into the back of your trousers. Bellamy would no doubt freak if he saw you with it, but having it close made you feel safe. You slowly pushed open the flaps to the tent with one hand, while clicking the safety off with the other. The light was dim but you could make out the figure of someone sitting on your bed.

“Raven?” She jumped to her feet, and gave you an alarmed look when noticed the gun in your hand. “What are you doing in the dark? I could have shot you.”

“Sorry...I Just needed to talk to you, and I didn’t know where you were.”

You sighed, “it’s fine.” You tucked the gun underneath your bed and flung some dirty clothes on top of it. “What’s going on? Is something wrong?”

“I came by to see how you were feeling earlier when I heard you and Murphy talking. I-he told you what I did.”

You sat down on the bed, and kicked off your boots. “Raven, I don’t agree with it. But I’m also not judging.”

“You don’t think I’m a monster?” Raven’s voice broke as she spoke, it was the first time you had ever seen her so vulnerable. You shook your head. “How can you be so nice all the time? Isn’t it exhausting?”

You let out a snort of laughter at her comment. “I’m not, trust me. I’m just trying to make the best of a bad situation.”

Raven joined you on the bed, “what do you mean?”

“I’m just trying to enjoy my freedom until the rest of the ark comes down. I imagine many of us won’t be pardoned of our crimes and will either get floated or locked up again.”

Even in the dark you could see the brunette’s eyebrows coming together in a frown. “Well the ark would just need to get through me first.”

“I’m sure Jaha will be shaking.” You chuckled, before noticing the look on Raven’s face. “Is there anything else going on?”

“From the moment I landed I knew something was different. Finn...he doesn’t look at me the way he used to, he looks at her like that instead.” her? It took you a few seconds to catch on to what she was talking about. “They had sex not long after they came down here.”

You knew Finn had feelings for Clarke, but never realised how far they had taken things.“I’m so sorry, I had no idea.”

Raven began to sob. “I feel so stupid! I risked my life to come down here to be with Finn, and the whole time he was sleeping with somebody else. What makes it worse is he hid it from me.”

You admired Raven for being so strong, she was heartbroken but still used her amazing brain to help the rest of the camp out.

She turned to face you, “I’d hate to impose...but I really don’t want to see him right now.”

You smiled at her, “you can stay in here whenever you want.”

Raven thanked you before you both got comfortable in the bed. You spent the rest of the night talking before falling asleep.

“She was falling behind. I did what I had to.”

Jill could practically hear how the young man rolled his eyes as he spoke. No wonder the delinquents had been following his orders like faithful and helpless servants ever since they landed. Bellamy could sound authoritative when he wanted to.

Sitting up with a groan, Jill opened her eyes to see Bellamy and Octavia both sitting in her tent. She could tell they had bickering about something, Bellamy’s jaw was clenched, and the younger Blake was pouting. “If the wind changes, your face will stay like that O.”

Octavia smiled at her friend before nodding her arm playfully. “Nice to see you too Jill, how are you feeling?”

“Sore, but I’ll live. What’s been going on here?” Blake siblings shared a look that let Jill know something bad had happened. Wasn’t that always the case? The loud boom. “The second drop-ship?”

“No survivors.” Bellamy answered bluntly.

“Oh god.” Jill gasped. She was about to ask if they learned who died when she remembered who Clarke’s mom was. She didn’t want to know if Abby Griffin had lived or died.

Octavia stood from her perch on Jill’s bed. “I’m going to let Clarke know you are awake, Bell keep an eye on her.”

The moment Octavia left the tent the awkward tension took over. Jill pulled at the threads of the thin blanket that was covering her. She could feel Bellamy’s glare burning a hole into her. His anger was now aimed at her.

Jill counted the minutes until he finally snapped at her. They lasted two minutes. “Why didn’t you tell me? Or Finn?”

“Tell you what?” She asked, confused.

Bellamy made a tutting noise before continuing. “How badly the grounders hurt you. You have cuts and bruises all over your arms and legs that you hid, not to mention the stab wound.”

“It was my decision to go, I wanted to help.” She shrugged, “all we did was make it worse and-”

“You didn’t make it worse. Anya seemed to respect you, we can use it to our advantage.” Jill scoffed at his comment. “You don’t think so? She shook your hand. She likes you more than Clarke.”

Jill tilted her head to the side, “comparing me to the princess?”

Bellamy grinned at her and shrugged. It was rare for them to share a moment together that wasn’t full of arguments and arguments. Bellamy cupped Jill's face and ran his thumb over her cheek. He cleared his throat to say something but was cut off by his sister yelling. She wanted him and Jill to go to the drop-ship right away.

“John!” Jill yelled before kneeling beside a wounded Murphy. He looked like he’d been to hell and back. John opened his eyes and acknowledged Jill’s presence.

Jill was so focused on Murphy that she almost missed the conversation happening behind her. “We hanged him, we banished him, and now we're going to kill him. Get the Hell out of my way.” Jill jumped to her feet and spun to see Bellamy pointing his gun at Murphy while Finn tried to stop him.

Bellamy clenched his jaw when he saw Jill stepping in front of him, “Move.”

“No.”

“Move out of my road.” He barked, Jill folded her arms and blocked him every time he tried to move. “Be smart about this, Jill.”

“You aren’t killing him!” Jill snapped, while smacking the gun out of his hand. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Clarke stepping towards Murphy. “Don’t even think about it princess.”

Clarke put her hands up defensively and stepped back. “I just want to know what happened.”

“What happened?” Jill scrunched her face up at the question. “You and Bellamy tossed him out to the grounders that’s what happened! They tore off his goddamn fingernails!”

Bellamy looked at her blankly. “We need to know what happened.”

Jill let out a sigh of defeat. “I’ll speak to him, but you two have to leave.”

Murphy had his head rested against Jill 's chest as she ran her hair through his fingers. They had spoken little since Bellamy and Clarke left. Jill didn’t want to push him for information about what the grounders did to him. She already had a rough idea.

“Get into any trouble while I was gone?” Murphy asked in between coughing fits.

Jill wasn’t sure what to say to him, “I got drunk and kissed the princess.”

Murphy turned his head and looked up at her. “Was she a better kisser than me?”

She chuckled at his comment and pressed a kiss to his forehead. “She wasn’t. Nobody is a better kisser than you.”

“Good. Now tell me about you making out with another girl.” Murphy let a smile briefly spread across his face as he felt Jill vibrate with laughter. The noises she made were enough for him to finally fall asleep.

It traumatized Murphy. He could have sworn his heart stopped beating when he saw Jill being brought back into the drop-ship. She had left to get something from her tent and didn’t return until she was being carried in. She looked dead. Clarke assured him she was alive, but he still wasn’t so sure.

“You care for her, don’t you?”

He didn’t respond to Octavia's question; the girl talked far too often for his liking. He was scared to take his eyes off Jill, in case she began choking again.

“Why didn’t you come back for her?”

“Do you ever stop talking?” He snapped, shaking his head.

Octavia let out a small laugh. “It seems you have a soul after all.” The dark-haired girl looked him up and down, “The grounders really did a number on you.”

“Observant.”

Octavia raised her eyes. “Jill looked worse when she came back, I honestly thought she was going to die. This will be the third time I’ve almost lost her.”

“What do you mean she looked worse?” Murphy asked, confused. “Did...did they take her?”

“Oh, um…” Octavia mentally slapped herself, she just assumed somebody would have told Murphy. “They took her.”

Murphy shook his head as he wiped Jill’s face with a damp cloth. To his relief, the color had returned to her cheeks. “What did they do to her?”

“Stabbed her, pulled her toe nails off, cut her arms and legs. Jill said they kept asking her questions, but she didn’t understand what they said to her.” Octavia gulped down seeing the look on Murphy’s face. It was obvious her friend meant a lot to him. “She’s given my brother and Clarke hell for banishing you. They had a meeting with the grounders and their leader shook Jill's hand and ignored Clarke.”

What? As Octavia continued to tell Murphy everything that happened since they banished him. He couldn’t believe how much Jill had accomplished on her own. “Wow, she’s been busy.”

“Yeah, but she’s missed you like crazy.”

“Why are you telling me this? We aren’t friends. Bellamy has tried to kill me multiple times, I’ll no doubt be banished again after this.” Murphy finally took his eyes off Jill to stare at Octavia while waiting for an answer.

“Jill is my friend, my only friend, and I want her to be happy.” Octavia glanced down at Jill. “You make her happy, and for the record, I don’t agree with what happened that day. I’m still pissed at you wanting to kill Jasper, but I never wanted you to get floated.”

Murphy opened his mouth to respond when more delinquents got brought into the drop-ship, including Bellamy. Octavia rushed to her brother's side, leaving Murphy on his own. He tucked a stay stand of purple hair back underneath her hat. He wished she was awake, so they could talk so badly, Murphy wanted to tell her so many things. That he was sorry about what happened with Charlotte, he was sorry for being such a dick when they landed, and he wanted to apologize in advance for what he was about to do.

Jill woke to the sounds of snoring around her, apparently she wasn’t the only one who caught the virus. The last thing she remembered was walking outside and suddenly feeling faint before throwing up blood. She was losing count of how many times she’d almost died on earth.

Quietly she slid off the table and began looking for Murphy. Making her way through the drop-ship she was shocked to see Bellamy among the infected. He was thankfully sound asleep. Hearing a muffled noise in the other direction, she headed towards it.

She was startled to see Murphy leaning over somebody. Jill wanted to get his attention but didn’t want to wake anybody else up.

“Bygones.”

Jill watched in horror as Murphy threw a damp cloth on the ground and attempted to walk away. He froze on the spot when he saw her. Her eyes filled with tears as she realized what he had just down, Murphy had just killed someone.
