The storm comes to a head late at night in the form of knocking at his front door. It's muffled, but the space is small enough for him to hear. Confused, he closes his book to have a peek at his porch. He doesn't see anyone, but the weird knocking continues, followed by scratching. That eases his worries immediately and he opens up the door without much thought. Sure enough, his dog friend is sitting on the porch.
"What are you doing here this late?" Eddie asks, looking around as if the owner could show up out of the darkness with pitchforks and accusations. He moves to the side. "Come in, I don't think Steve wants to see me anyway. Leave as much hair as you want." Eddie smiles dryly at the dog.
Without a word, well, obviously, it's a dog, but without even a look in his direction, the dog moves towards his bedroom.
"Came in for sleepy cuddles, huh?" Eddie chuckles to himself. He latches back the door and moves towards the kitchen to grab a snack for himself and the dog. He's putting an extra slice of ham on a plate when a voice startles him, coming in from the closed doors to his bedroom.
Unmistakably human. Unmistakably Steve's.
"Uh, Eddie? Can I borrow some pants?"
Eddie's brain reruns a whole passage on mimics from his monster manual. Then on faeries and demons and goes straight into thoughts of Demogorgons. His walkie is in the bedroom.
"Eddie?"
He does the next best thing and grabs the heaviest pan he can find.
"I can hear you man," Steve's voice comes with a sigh when he approaches the door. "I swear it's me and I'm sorry for scaring you, I'll explain everything in a minute." Eddie lowers the pan. "But I'd really like to be wearing pants while I do that."
The request is weird enough to settle his nerves and finally open the door. And sure enough, there is Steve Harrington, butt-naked save for the blanket he wrapped himself in.
"What the fuck?" Eddie risks speaking up, his grip on the panhandle tightening. He glances towards his window. It's closed and all the trinkets on the sill below remain untouched. "Where's my dog?" he asks next, eyes dropping to the floor.
"Come on, man." Steve's fingers twist in the fabric of the blanket, and his face is a picture of pure distress.
Eddie decides to show some mercy and, not taking his eyes off the intruder, inches his way to the dresser where he fishes out that one pair of hand-me-down sweats he's never fully grown into. They should be big enough to fit Harrington's ass. If that even was him.
He throws the pants at Steve, who fumbles to catch them while keeping the blanket covering him up. They stare at each other for a long while until Steve raises his eyebrows expectantly.
"You gonna turn around or...?"
Eddie shakes his head stubbornly. He crosses his arms for good measure, despite the pan making it awkward and uncomfortable.
"I'm only half convinced you're not a mimic. Or a Vecna hallucination. So no, I'm not turning my back on you," he scoffs.
Steve's eyes widen at the mention of their last demonic opponent. He seems to understand Eddie's reservations a little bit better.
"I swear I'm not," he says softer, looking guilty for scaring his friend even further than he already had. "I'm sorry for freaking you out," he continues, turning around himself. The blanket drops and Eddie never had another butt-ass naked man in his bedroom before. Golden boy Steve, too, among his band posters and trailer trash glory? A truly poetic sight.
"I just had to come clean."
Steve bends over and the sweats don't get pulled up fast enough for Eddie to miss the twin moles on his right cheek.
He turns back around quickly, scratching his forearm self-consciously.
"Dustin's right, I'm just making it more difficult than it has to be."
Okay, so maybe involving Henderson didn't backfire as badly as Eddie feared. On the other hand, he had half-naked Steve Harrington, squirming uncomfortably at his place, so it was hard to tell.
"Well, I'm here and listening, so you can go any moment now," Eddie prompts him, leaning against his desk. He observes Steve open and close his mouth hesitantly, and rolls his eyes. "Okay, kitchen," he commands, straightening up. When Steve doesn't move, he points at the door with his pan. "You go first, I don't trust that you're not gonna turn into something else."
Steve has made half a step when his eyes widen.
"You figured it out?"
Eddie raises his eyebrows, pan twisting in his grip half-threateningly.
"So you are a mimic?"
"I don't know what a mimic is!" Steve groans, frustrated. "I just turn into a dog."
At first Eddie's ready to scoff, maybe throw the pan at him, but as he studies Steve's expression, he frowns. Slowly, he connects the dots in his brain.
"You've been the dog all this time?"
Steve nods.
"That's why I never saw you? Because you were right there, turned into a fucking dog?" he asks incredulously.
"Yeah," Steve admits, folding in on himself like he wanted to disappear.
Eddie puts the pan aside and starts pulling his rings off, one by one. Steve eyes him warily, and it takes him a moment to speak up.
"Uh, what are you doing?"
Eddie looks him calmly in the eye.
"I'm going to punch you now, and I don't want to cut you up."

All Wrong - Luke Hughes
Summary: Jack needs some help from Sadie, but Sadie finds another Hughes brother much more interesting.
content: fluff, angst, fake dating, kissing, making out, teasing, dirty jokes, underage drinking
wc: 11.6k
notes: HERE IT IS! MY LONGEST FIC EVER!!!! enjoy!!
"Sadie, it's not like I'm asking you to marry me. It's just for the summer so she leaves me alone," Jack pleaded from his spot on the girl's couch.
"Just tell her you're not interested or that you have a girlfriend. This seems overboard."
"That won't stop her. Trust me."
"Then why would me being there change that?"
"You're intimidating, Sadie. You'll look at her once and she'll run home like a puppy with its tail tucked between its legs."
"Jack..."
"Sadie, please! Didn't you say your parents had been on your ass about having a boyfriend? See this could benefit both of us."
"I-"
"Sadie!" Jack's tone had shifted from being teasing to almost desperate. "You don't get it! This girl... she doesn't take 'no' for an answer. Trust me... I've tried."
Sadie crossed her arms over her chest, settling further into the couch. "So your brilliant plan involves be pretending to be madly in love with you instead? Egotistical much."
"Shut up. If you're there, she'll see we're serious and she'll back off."
"And you don't think this is going to backfire? Or, I don't know, create a whole mess of awkwardness between us?" Sadie tilted her head, waiting for his response.
"It'll be fine. We're friends, right? We've kissed when we were drunk. We can handle a little fake dating for a few weeks. Plus, the thing with your parents... win-win?"
She sighed, feeling like she was fighting a battle she was gonna lose no matter what. She had mentioned it in passing--how her parents were always asking why she wasn't dating anyone. But this? Fake dating Jack? It sounded like the plot of a rom-com gone wrong.
"I don't know, Jack."
"Look, we'll just keep it simple. I won't make it weird, I promise. We'll hang at the lake house, do the whole 'couple' thing, and by the end of the summer, it's done. You're free. I'm free. And maybe we can get a few laughs out of it."
It sounded insane. Jack was her friend--her close friend--and she could see in his eyes how desperately he wanted her to say yes.
"You really think this will work?"
"Trust me. She'll be running away by the end of the first week."
With a heavy sigh, she finally nodded. "Fine. I'll do it. But you owe me."
"Deal! I owe you big time! But you won't regret this, Sades. It's going to be great!"
She wasn't so sure. It felt so much more complicated than Jack was letting on.
~~
A couple weeks later, Sadie found herself standing on the driveway of the Hughes' lake house. She was standing next to Jack, picking at the chipped nail polish on her fingers. She genuinely felt like she could puke.
"Relax, Sadie," Jack grinned, holding their suitcases. "It's gonna be great."
She narrowed her eyes, but didn't respond. His grin didn't falter, and he motioned with his head for her to walk toward the house. The second her foot hit the first step, the door flew open and Ellen came out with a smile on her face. A smile scarily similar to Jack's.
"You must be Sadie! It's so nice to meet you," she said warmly, wrapping the 21-year-old in a tight hug.
"Oh, uh, yeah. That's me," Sadie stammered, trying to return the hug without looking too awkward. It was one thing to pretend around Jack and whoever this scary neighbour girl was, but in front of his family was a whole other can of worms. It felt so much more real.
"We're so excited to have you here! Jack never stops talking about you."
"Doesn't he?" Sadie smirked, turning around to glance at her 'boyfriend' who was pretending he couldn't hear the conversation.
Before she could ask anymore, Ellen was leading her into the home with a hand on her back. "Come in! I'm just finishing getting dinner ready, and the rest of the family should be here soon. Quinn and Jim were picking Luke up from school, so the three of them will be here around 9."
"Moose's coming?" Jack piped up, dropping their bags on the floor. "I thought he wasn't gonna make it this year."
"Changed his mind last minute. We'll all be together," Ellen grinned, wiping her hands on a dish towel.
"I'm gonna show Sadie around upstairs, we'll be back down for dinner in like ten minutes."
"Sounds good. I left some fresh towels for you on Jack's bed."
"Oh. Thank you."
"No worries. You two go get settled."
Sadie followed Jack up the creaky wooden stairs, her mind still spinning from meeting Ellen. Everything about the situation felt real. Too real. Way, way too real.
"Your mom is... intense," she muttered, walking into the hallway as Jack pushed open the door to the room they'd be sharing for the summer.
"Yeah, well, that's Mom for you. She loves you already," Jack grinned, throwing himself onto the bed. He stretched out, folding his arms behind his head as if he was relaxed as ever. Like they weren't lying to his entire family.
Sadie sat awkwardly on the foot of the bed, scanning the room. It was cozy. A few posters on the walls, hockey-themed of course, and an old wooden dresser in the corner. The window overlooked the lake and Sadie thought she could fall in love with the idea of living here for the summer pretty quickly.
"So, we're sharing this bed, I take it?" she raised an eyebrow.
Jack chuckled, patting the matress next to him. "Come on, Sades. We're dating, remember? Gotta sell it."
She rolled her eyes, scooting up to sit next to Jack. "Just remember this is fake. No funny business, Hughes."
"I know, I know. Jeez. I already told you, I'm not gonna make it weird. Just for the summer. Then we're free."
She shook her head, already regretting everything. She had agreed to the plan, but now that she was there, standing in their home, sharing a bed--it all felt too close for comfort.
"Speaking of Luke. You didn't mention that your brothers were gonna be here."
"They're chill. Don't stress. Moose has been busy with shit at Umich and Quinn in Vancouver. They'll just be happy to relax. Plus, they don't usually care about talking girls and stuff. So they won't grill you. If anything, they'll give me shit for dating someone so out of my league."
"I'll believe it when I see it, Jack."
Jack snickered, standing up and walking over to the side of the bed she was on. He leaned down, his tone teasing. "Come on, Sades. Let's go down and eat dinner like a happy couple."
"You're so fucking annoying."
~~
Dinner went surprisingly smoothly. Ellen had a special way of making everything seem casual and lighthearted. Jack, of course, had been his usual... charming self, playing the role of the perfect doting boyfriend. He was good at it, touching her back lightly, pulling her chair out for her, and even dropping the occasional kiss on the top of her head.
It should've made her cringe, but instead she found it... comforting?
Ellen had asked the usual 'parent' questions--how they met, what Sadie was studying, if she liked hockey (which of course she had to answer yes to, knowing full well the consequences of not liking hockey in the Hughes household). Sadie played along, forcing herself to laugh at Jack's shit jokes and add details to the story they'd created on the drive up.
"Jack, why don't you take Sadie down to the dock and watch the sunset over the lake" Ellen suggested, clearing the table of plates. "It's beautiful tonight."
"Good idea, Mom," Jack agreed, standing up and taking Sadie's hand with a grin.
"Sure, sounds nice," Sadie forced a smile, trying not to feel awkward holding Jack's hand in front of his mother.
They walked out towards the dock, the cool air helping lift the weight of the day away. The lake stretched out before them, the water reflecting the orange and pink hues of the sunset. Sadie loved scenes like that. They brought her so much peace.
"You're doing great, by the way, Sadie."
She snorted, leaning her head on his shoulder. "I feel like I'm in some weird improv exercise. Just waiting for someone to figure out I don't belong here."
"They're not going to figure anything out," he whispered. "You've got this."
Lying to his family felt wrong, even if it was supposed to be for a good cause. Or at least a cause that Jack thought was good.
"This is going to be a very draining summer," she sighed.
"You wanna go to bed?"
"No, I need to stay up and meet your brothers and your dad."
"They'll still be here in the morning, Sades. If you want to go to sleep, nobody is gonna stop you."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah, come on. Let's get you some sleep."
~~
"Who's shoes are those?" Luke asked, closing the front door behind him.
"Jack's girlfriend's! You just missed her, she went to sleep about half an hour ago," Ellen smiled, pulling her youngest son into a hug.
"His girlfriend?"
"Yes! Sadie is her name. Such a nice girl. Very pretty too."
Luke looked back down at the shoes again, his mind still trying to catch up with what his mom was saying. Jack's girlfriend? The words felt so unfamiliar. Jack didn't talk about dating much, at least not in a serious way, so hearing about Sadie--a girl he apparently cared enough about to bring home--caught him so off guard.
"Yeah. Jack didn't mention much about her."
"He didn't? Oh, well, you'll meet her in the morning," she reached up to ruffle his hair, like he was still a little kid playing chase around the house with his brothers. "She's lovely. A little shy at first, but I'll sure she'll warm up to everyone. Probably just worried about making a good first impression."
Luke nodded, but inside his curiousity was growing. Shy? He hadn't heard Jack describe anyone as shy in, well, ever. Jack's type was the total opposite--bold, confident, the kind of girl that could hang with his rowdy ass friends without missing a beat. This Sadie girl was starting to sound a lot different than that.
"Well, let's get you boys fed before we all call it a night," Jim said, patting Luke's shoulder as he passed. "Your mom saved us some leftovers from dinner."
Luke followed his dad and Quinn into the kitchen, but his thoughts were still on the mysterious girl that had apparently stolen his brother's heart. Jack had never even mentioned a Sadie before and suddenly she was at the lake house. It all felt off.
~~
Sadie woke up feeling as sweaty as ever. The house had AC but Jack was like a personal heater and somehow they'd ended up spooning at some point in the night. There was a thin layer of sweat between her back and Jack's chest and she felt disgusting.
Groaning quietly, she pulled herself out of his grip, using her shirt to wipe her back. Jack was still fast asleep, the duvet kicked around his feet. Typical. Jack could sleep through a fucking earthquake.
She swung her legs out of bed and padded to the bathroom, hoping a splash of cold water would make her feel more like herself. She thought about what Jack had said last night--about how nobody would figure them out. But staring at herself in the mirror, she felt like it was written all over her face.
She didn't belong here.
She threw on the first clothes she could find, a pair of jean shorts and one of Jack's many Devils t-shirts. By the time she made her way downstairs, the kitchen was already bustling. Ellen was preparing breakfast while Jim sat at the table sipping a cup of coffee.
"Morning, Sadie! Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah, thanks," she forced a smile.
"Jack still asleep?"
"Out cold."
Ellen chuckled, shaking her head. "Sounds about right."
Sadie smiled, but before she could respond, the sound of footsteps behind her caught her attention. She turned just as Luke appeared in the doorway, fresh from a morning run, judging the sweat on his forehead and the way his grey shirt clung to his torso.
For a moment, neither of them spoke. Luke's eyes landed on her, sharp and curious. There was something about the way he looked at her that made her feel like he was sizing her up--not in a rude way, but in a way that made her stomach flip uncomfortably.
"You must be Sadie," he made his way further into the kitchen. "I'm Luke."
"Yeah," she extended her hand to him. "Nice to meet you."
Luke shook her head, his grip firm but brief. His blue eyes lingered on hers for a second longer than she expected before he pulled away, glancing towards the coffeemaker.
"You're the one who got Jack all domestic?" he teased, grabbing a mug. "Didn't see that coming."
She laughed softly, "I don't know about 'domestic,' but... I guess I'm the one who convinced him to bring me here."
Luke smirked, like he wasn't entirely buying it. "Yeah. I guess."
Sadie got cut off again, but this time by Quinn entering the room. "Ah, so this is the famous Sadie! Nice to finally put a face to the name."
Thank God for Quinn.
~~
Sadie sat on the dock, her feet dangling over the water, her book open on her lap. Jack and Quinn had gone to get the boat from the marina and Sadie had taken the opportunity to relax a bit.
She had laid a towel under her, Jack's t-shirt removed because she was not about to get a farmer's tan. She was basking in the sun, feeling the gentle warmth of the sun on her extremely pale skin. The world around her disappearing as she flipped through the novel. She was really enjoying it until she came to a parapgraph about suspicion. It took her right back to her interaction with Luke that morning. It was like he saw right through her, could sense all the cracks in her story. She had to be careful, maybe Luke was smarter than he seemed.
But footsteps on the dock behind her broke her train of thought. She glanced over her should, expecting to see that either Jack or Quinn had returned with the car from the marina, but it was Luke. He wasn't in the workout clothes he'd been wearing earlier, now dressed in a white t-shirt and board shorts, clearly ready for a swim.
"You mind if I join?" Luke asked, the same playful charm in his voice that Jack carried.
"Sure, it's your family's dock after all."
Luke smirked, dropping a towel beside her before sitting down, his legs also hanging over the water. He didn't say anything for awhile, just stared out over the water. Sadie went back to reading, well now she was pretending to read, her main focus being on how closely he was sitting next to her.
"So," he broke the silence. "How'd you and Jack meet?"
There it was--more lying about her and Jack. Sadie knew Luke was already suspicious of her, so she had to play her cards right. She looked up from her book, trying to keep her body language calm. "Friends. Some of his, uh, his friends go to school with me. So..."
"Friends, huh?" He was testing her, waiting for her to trip up.
"Yeah, like slow burn," she shrugged. "We hung out with a big group of friends first. You know how it goes."
Luke was silent for a moment, staring down at the waves lapping the dock. "Yeah, I guess, I do. Jack's never mentioned you before."
Sadie felt her stomach lurch, but she forced a smile. "Well, we kept things on the down-low for a while. Just us. It's still... kinda new."
"Makes sense," Luke's tone made it clear he wasn't entirely convinced. He shifted, resting his elbows on his knees, staring out at the lake again. "Just seems strange, I guess. Jack never brings girls here. And then... suddenly, you."
"I guess I'm just lucky," she swallowed harshly.
For a moment, she thought he might say something else--might press her further--but instead, he stood up and grabbed his towel.
"I'll leave you to it. Nice talking, Sadie," he walked off, completely disregarding the fact that he had clearly come out to swim. She just watched him retreat. It was clear he didn't trust her, hopefully Jack could fix that. She didn't need him figuring anything out before the trip was over. That was certain.
~~
The sound of the boat engine humming across the water was the perfect background noise on a sunny afternoon. Sadie sat on the edge, occasionally letting her fingers trail through the lake below. Jack was steering them out to the centre of the water, Quinn sat up front basking in the sun, and Luke leaned casually against the small railing on the side.
"You ever driven one of these?" Luke asked, nodding towards the steering wheel.
Sadie looked over to Jack, who was too busy concentrating on his driving to respond. She smirked, "Jack never lets anyone take the wheel. He likes to be in control."
Quinn laughed, "Sounds about right. Captain Jack, over here. Watch out Sadie or he might start asking you to call him that."
"Don't give him any ideas," she groaned, flicking her gaze back to Jack. She really hoped that the banter seemed real and not forced.
"You love it, Sades! You're just mad because you can't even drive a car for shit."
"Hey! You've never given me a chance on a boat," she shot back, standing up and making her way to Jack.
"I think I have a good reason."
Sadie placed a hand on his shoulder, leaning in closer as she laughed. It felt so strange to have to be so physically close to Jack on purpose, but she was learning to fake it well. "Maybe I'll surprise you one day."
Quinn chuckled, "Honestly, Rowdy, give her a shot. What's the worst that could happen?"
"She crashes into the dock?" Jack raised an eyebrow, still smirking, one of his hands casually finding it's way around Sadie's bare waist. She stiffened slightly at first, but relaxed quickly after reminding herself to play the part.
"I'm more worried about you crashing into the dock," Sadie shot back.
Luke, who had been silently observing the whole ordeal, cracked a grin. "She's probably better at steering than you think, Jack. You're just a control freak."
Sadie stole a glance, glad to see Luke was no longer sending any weird looks her way.
"Alright, fine," Jack sighed, turning the wheel just slightly to change course. "Maybe I'll let you drive next time. If you're lucky."
Quinn snorted, "If she's lucky? You mean if she gives you head?"
Sadie's jaw dropped, but all three Hughes brothers started laughing like it was the funniest joke she'd ever heard. God, she'd never understand men.
~~
The boat had been anchored and Sadie sat with Jack near the edge. Luke and Quinn were busy talking about who could pull off a better dive, leaving the 'couple' alone.
Sadie lowered her voice, looking around to see if the other boys were listening. "Jack, I think Luke is catching on."
"Catching on? What're you talking about?"
Sadie sighed. "Earlier today, he was asking me all these questions. It felt like he was suspicious. Like he knows this whole thing is all an act."
Jack chuckled, knocking his shoulder with hers. "Sades, he's just messing with you. Trust me, he's not suspicious of anything. That's just how he is. He's probably giving you a hard time because he knows it'll get under your skin."
She bit her lip, not fully convinced. "I don't know... I don't want him to say something to your parents or--"
"Relax," he softly grabbed her hand. "It's going fine. They all like you, and no one is doubting anything. Promise."
Sadie looked around again, but Quinn and Luke were now splashing each other in the water. "I guess you're right. I'm probably just overthinking shit."
"Exactly. Now, where's the Sadie I know? I'm not a fan of this anxious, worrywart. Where's the flirty, confident, almost scary Sadie that I became friends with?"
She just shook her head, a real smile making its way across her face. Jack leaned back, stretching his arms behind him. "Come on, Sades. Let's make the most of this. Summer is supposed to be funnnn."
"Okay," she giggled. "Let's have some fun."
She quickly stood up and cannon-balled into the lake. Luke and Quinn cheered her on, as Jack shook his head and laughed. "There's my girl!"
~~
Sadie, Jack, Luke, and Quinn sat on deck chairs around the firepit, drinks in hand. It had been a long day spent out on the water, but the fun wasn't over just yet. The laughter was now coming even easier than before with the addition of alcohol.
Sadie leaned heavily into Jack's side, his arm draped over her shoulders, her head resting on him. She finally felt like herself, carefree. Jack's closeness didn't feel awkward anymore; it felt natural, or maybe that was just the alcohol.
"Alright, Sadie," Quinn said, his speech slurred slightly. "I gotta know what it's like dating Jack? He's gotta be a pain in the ass."
"Oh, you have no idea," she teased. "He thinks he's funny. Most of the time, he's just annoying."
Jack gasped dramatically, clutching his chest with his free hand. "Wow. You wound me, Sades. I'm hilarious."
"Debatable," she quipped, running her fingers along the seam of his shirt as she settled against him more comfortably.
"Okay, but for real," Luke piped up, "how'd you two even get together? I don't think Jack has ever brought a girl here."
She glanced at Jack, who winked at her before answering.
"It just happened, I guess. We were hanging out with a group of friends, like I told you guys, and then one day... I just knew she was the one for me."
"Oh, you knew, huh? That's not how I remember it," Sadie giggled.
"What's your version, Sadie?" Luke raised an eyebrow.
"Well... Jack was chasing after me for months, trying to get me to go out with him. I was playing hard to get."
Jack cackled, "That's not how it went."
"It's exactly how it went," she shot back, her voice full of confidence. "He practically begged me to go on a date with him."
Luke and Quinn were in stitches, the banter between her and Jack clearly entertaining them. Sadie felt so much more like herself. The earlier tension she felt from Luke's questions had melted away with the first sip of vodka.
Just as Sadie was about to make another joke at Jack's expense, the sound of footsteps cruncing against gravel caught her attention. She glanced over her shoulder to see a figure making their toward them. Sadie tensed.
It had to be that neighbour girl that Jack had warned her about. The whole reason this shit was happening.
The girl strutted up to the firepit, her eyes locking on Jack like he was the only person there. She didn't even acknowledge Sadie's presence, instead giving Jack a flirtatious smile as she drew closer.
"Well, well," her tone was sugary sweet. "Didn't know you were back in town, Jack."
Sadie felt Jack also tense beside her, but he didn't move his arm from her shoulders. He smiled politely, but there was no mistaking the discomfort in his eyes. "Yes, Natalie, we're here every summer."
The girl, Natalie, flicked her bleach blonde hair over her shoulder. "It's been a while. You should come over sometime. We could... catch up."
Sadie could tell from the girl's body language that she wasn't taking no for an answer. Natalie's obvious attempt to flirt with Jack was so blatant, it was almost laughable. It would've been laughable if it wasn't so goddamn irritating.
Luke and Quinn exchanged amused glances.
Sadie straightened up, pushing her body closer to Jack's. "He's a little busy right now," Sadie's voice was low but firm.
"Oh, I'm sure Jack can make time. Can't you, Jacky?"
Sadie's blood boiled. Natalie wasn't getting the message. She glanced at Jack, who looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there, then made a quick decision. Without hesitation, Sadie reached up, grabbed Jack's face in both hands, and pulled him into a kiss. Not a soft, delicate one, but a full-on, heated make out session that left no room for misinterpretation. She was making sure that everyone knew who Jack belonged to.
Jack responded immediately, his hands moving to rest on her waist as he kicked her back, clearly caught up in the moment. It was all part of the act, but Sadie could feel the passion in it, the alcohol blurring the line between fake and real.
When she pulled away, breathless and bright red, she didn't even look at Jack. She instead kept her gaze locked on Natalie, who was staring at them in stunned silence.
"Like I said," Sadie's voice was full of cool confidence, "he's busy."
Natalie's face twisted into a scowl, her cheeks burning with embarrassment. She shot Jack and Sadie one last frustrated look before scoffing and turning on her heel, storming off into the night like a child throwing a tantrum.
Quinn let out a low whistle. "Damn, Sadie. Remind me not to get on your bad side."
"That was brutal," Luke agreed.
She shrugged, playing it off like it was nothing, even though her heart was pounding in her chest. "She wasn't getting it. Had to make it clear."
Jack, still recovering from the intensity of the kiss, grinned down at her. "You sure did."
~~
The room spun slightly as Sadie fumbled with the zipper on her shorts, still giggling about how the night had unfolded. Jack leaned against the door, watching her with a lazy grin, the alcohol still buzzing in his system.
"That kiss though," Jack teased, his voice slurred as he kicked off his shoes. "You really sold it, Sades. I think you scared Natalie away for life."
"Good," she smirked, peeling off her shorts and tossing them aside, not bothering with modesty. She started tugging her t-shirt over her head. "She wasn't getting the hint. Had to go for the kill."
Jack's eyes flickered to her as she changed, the casualness of it all catching him off guard. He swallowed, his throat suddenly very dry as he tried not to stare. Sadie, half-naked, standing there like it was nothing--it was making his head spin even more than it already was.
He blinked, knowing he shouldn't have been distracted like that, especially when they were just playing pretend. But Sadie didn't seem to notice nor care. She was sat on the bed, running her hands through her hair, her laughter replaced by a serious expression.
"Jack. I was actually really nervous... earlier. With meeting your parents, then Luke asking all those questions, and then fucking Natalie showed up."
Jack shook off his drunken haze. He sat down beside her, trying to focus on her words and the fact that her skin was glowing under the light in the room. "Nervous? You seemed to have it under control out there."
"I was faking. Well, partly. Thought maybe Luke's questions about us were to find holes or that Quinn was part of his plan."
"Sades, I'm not sure how many times I have to tell you. Nobody is suspicious."
"I just didn't want to mess this up for you. The whole fake dating thing--it's for you, and I didn't want to fuck it all up by being... weird."
"You weren't weird. You were amazing. And that kiss? I think you might have convinced me we're really dating."
"So... no one's doubting?"
Jack shook his head, his hand brushing gently against her back. "Nope. That kiss probably wiped away any doubts that Quinn or Luke might've had. You sold it. Hell, I think Luke might've been jealous."
She smirked at the thought, "Yeah? Jealous, huh?"
Jack grinned, leaning his forehead against hers. "Definitely. You've got nothing to worry about now. We've got this."
There was a quiet moment between them. The alcohol buzz still hanging in the air, but it was softer now, replaced by something warmer, more intimate. Jack's hand slid up to her shoulder, his touch gentle as he pulled her closer.
"I'm really glad you're here."
She leaned into him, resting her head against his chest. "Me too."
They lay back on the bed, neither bothering to change further. Jack's arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her into his side as she snuggled against him. The steady rise and fall of Jack's chest beneath her cheek, lulling her to sleep.
~~
Jack and Quinn were gone for the day, some sort of offseason training session by some bigshot NHL personal trainer. The guy hadn't invited Luke, so he was stuck at the house with Sadie and his parents.
Sadie was stretched out on a towel in the backyard, basking in the sunshine, her earbuds playing some soft country music. She was enjoying her peaceful solitude.
Or so she thought.
When she turned her head slightly to adjust her sunglasses, she caught a glimpse of Luke standing on the back porch. He was leaning against the railing, looking right at her. His eyes flickered away as soon as she spotted him, but it was too late. Sadie had seen him staring.
A mischievous grin tugged at her lips.
Caught you.
Deciding to have a little fun with it, Sadie flipped onto her front, resting her chin on her folded arms. Then, with a playful smirk, she reached behind her and undid the knot on her bikini top, letting it fall loose against the towel beneath her. Luke couldn't actually see shit, but she thought it was hilarious to tease him.
After a few beats of silence, Sadie couldn't help but sneak a peek in his direction. Luke was still on the porch, but his posture was tense, clearly flustered. His eyes darted between her and the lake, like he wasn't sure where to look.
She bit her lip to hold back a laugh. Oh, this is too good.
Satisfied with the teasing, she casually rolled back onto her back and retyed her top like nothing had happened. Then she stood up, grabbing her book and towel, she sauntered back inside with a smirk tugging at her lips. She didn't need to look back to know there were still a set of blue eyes staring at her.
~~
Luke wandered into the living room, hesitating briefly at the door before walking to Sadie on the couch. His hair was still slightly damp from a dip in the lake, and he seemed almost more relaxed without Jack and Quinn there.
"Hey, mind if I sit here?"
"Go for it," she replied, looking up from her book. She shifted over to make space for him.
Luke sat down and stretched his legs out in front of him as he leaned back in an attempt to look casual. It didn't work and Sadie could still feel the tension in the air. She knew Luke was flustered about the whole backyard situation and she found it fucking hilarious.
"You're always reading," he remarked, nodding towards the book in her hands. "What is it this time?"
She raised an eyebrow and flipped the book around so he could see the cover. "I'm not 'always' reading. You've caught me reading twice. And it's just something to kill time. You know, since your brother is off pretending he's a celebrity."
"Yeah, Jack's like that. Always pretending he's the best," Luke chose to ignore her remark about him only seeing her reading twice.
"Must've been annoying growing up with him," Sadie teased.
"Oh, it was. But he's alright. Could've been worse."
The conversation continued easily from there, their voices filling the silent house with stories about their childhoods, embarrassing moments, and life in general. Luke found himself relaxing more and more as Sadie talked. She was sharp, funny, and this special energy that drew him in. The confident, teasing girl from the backyard was showing her soft side and he could see why Jack was head over heels in love with her,
Sadie yapped about her life in university, the friends she had back home in Jersey, and even some wild stories from a girls' trip to New York. Luke listened, hanging off of every word. She was cool, and not in a superficial way, but genuinely cool. She wasn't just Jack's girlfriend. She was Sadie. And she was amazing.
But with that realization came guilt.
He watched her laugh as she told a funny story, and Luke felt the pull growing inside him. He was really starting to like her. Maybe too much.
This was Jack's girlfriend. He shouldn't feel that way about Jack's girlfriend.
He knew it was wrong, but he made no effort to distance himself from her. Instead, he found himself drawn to her more and more, wanting to sit there with her, to hear her laugh again, to see the smirk that covered her face when she teased him.
"So, how about you?" she asked, snapping him from this thoughts. "What's it like being the baby? Bet Jack gave you hell."
"They both did. But especially Jack. He never, ever let me forget I was the youngest. Always had to one-up me."
"Sounds like Jack," she grinned, and Luke's smile faltered at the lovestruck look on her face at the meer mention of Jack. "Bet you're giving it right back now."
"I try." There was a brief lull in conversation and the silence that followed felt like it was charged with electricity.
Sadie held his gaze a beat longer than she should have before breaking the eye contact with a playful smile. "Well, if you ever need any tips on how to outsmart Jack, I've got plenty."
"I might just have to take you up on that."
~~
The sun lay low in the late afternoon sky making the lake look like it was sparkling. Sadie and Luke stood by the water's edge, still filling in the quiet hours without Jack and Quinn.
Sadie grinned, nudging Luke with her elbow. "Bet you can't beat me in a water fight."
"You're on."
Without warning, Sadie walked off into the water, her laugh echoing as she turned around to splash Luke. He barely had time to react before a wave of water was hitting his lower legs.
"Oh, it's like that?" Luke laughed, taking off after her.
It didn't take long before they were having a full-on war, splashing each other mercilessly. Sadie couldn't stop laughing as Luke chased her through the water. After on particularly good splash, she tried to swim away, but Luke caught up to her, his hands gripping her waist as he tried to dunk her. Sadie squealed in protest, kicking her legs.
"Let go, you cheater!" she giggled, twisting in his grip.
Luke grinned, he really liked how infectous her laugh was. But as they wrestled in the water, something shifted. His hands lingered on her waist longer than they should have. Her skin was riddled in goosebumps from the cold water, but still felt smooth under this touch, and suddenly the playful moment didn't seem quite as innocent.
Shit.
Sadie, still in the middle of laughing and trying to escape his hold, didn't seem to notice the change in him. She was completely carefree, seeing the moment for what it was--a game. But Luke wasn't feeling it anymore. His throat felt tight and pulse picked up.
His hands were still on her waist.
Luke's breath hitched, and before she could turn around and see the look on his face, he let go, stumbling backward in the water.
"You good? You're not giving up already, are you?"
Luke forced a chuckle, but it came out sounding way more like a cough. "Uh, yeah, I--uh, I think I've had enough."
Without waiting for her response, he quickly waded out of the water and back onto the shore. The evening breeze did nothing to cool his flustered state.
Sadie was still in the water, floating on her back with a smile on her face. "Aw, come on!"
He just mumbled something incoherent, grabbed his towel, and hurried back into the house without even looking her way.
~~
Luke rushed past his parents in the kitchen, heading straight for his room. He slammed the door shut behind him and flopped down onto the bed, shoving his face in a pillow. He wanted to scream, but even the pillow wouldn't muffle the sound enough from anyone downstairs.
I'm attracted to her.
The thought hit him like a freight train, the words echoing over and over again like a prayer. It wasn't just some innocent crush. He was undeniably, painfully attracted to Sadie--his brother's girlfriend.
How had he let it get this far? She was dating Jack. She was Jack's girlfriend. And yet, anytime she laughed or smiled at him, Luke felt like a fucking high schooler.
He couldn't stop it, couldn't ignore it anymore.
He hadn't meant to hold her like that in the water. It was meant to be just a harmless game, but he had taken it too far in his mind. Sadie, however, hadn't even seemed to notice. Maybe she did and she was just ignoring it. Surely that was it.
"You're such a fucking idiot, Luke," he cursed himself, but every time he closed his eyes all he could see was how perfect she had looked in that moment.
The worst part of all? He didn't want to stop feeling that way.
Even as the guilt knawed at him, he couldn't bring himself to want to distance from her. Being around Sadie felt good. It felt natural. And that scared him even more.
Suddenly, he heard laughter from the hallway outside his door. Luke froze, listening as Jack's voice joined in, low and teasing, followed by Sadie's giggles.
Luke squeezed his eyes shut, willing away the guilt. But then there was a pause in the laughter. He could picture what was happening. The way that Jack was looking at Sadie. The that Sadie was looking back up at Jack with a smile on her face, maybe teasing him.
Then... the sound of a kiss broke the silence. It was soft, but it might as well have been the loudest thing that Luke had ever heard. His stomach twisted, and he tried to shove his face further into the pillow, but it was no use the couple was back to laughing.
This is wrong. It's all wrong. But as wrong as he knew it was, he couldn't deny the truth.
He was falling for Sadie. And he was falling for Sadie... hard.
~~
The whole family and Sadie were gathered around the pool table, Jim and Ellen watching from the corner, while the "kids" took their turns at the competetive game that had started.
Sadie was standing next to Jack, leaning against the wall with a gin and tonic, that her "boyfriend" had made her, in her hand. She was watching Quinn line up his shot, her eyes crinkling as she laughed about whatever it was that Jack was whispering to her about. Jack had his arm draped over her shoulders, pulling her closer as she laughed. They looked so comfortable. So perfect.
Luke stood across from them, gripping his pool cue so tightly that his knuckles had turned white. Every laugh that Jack and Sadie shared, every playful nudge, felt like a stab to his gut.
"Alright, Sades, your go," Jack kissed her cheek before handing her a cue.
She leaned over the table, lining up her shot with Jack standing behind her, offering a few "helpful" tips. His hand rested on her lower back, guiding her aim. Quinn looked over at Luke, raising his eyebrows as if to say "look how suggestive he's being."
Luke just shook his head, trying to focus on the game. But all he could think about was how close and touchy they were being. And how it made his stomach churn with something that he could only guess was jealousy.
Fuck, it was so messed up.
"Luke, it's your turn," Quinn called.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, right," he blinked, shaking his head. He stepped up to the table, trying to compose himself as he lined up his shot. He missed it by a mile, the ball ricocheting off the side with a loud thunk.
"Wow, nice one, Rusty," Jack teased.
His jaw was clenched, "Guess I'm just off tonight."
Sadie didn't even notice, giggling as Jack asked for her opinion on their next move. Why were they acting like they were the only ones in the room? Was nobody else finding it annoying? Luke glanced at his mom. She was smiling at the young couple, a lovestruck look on her face. Maybe he was the only one that found it annoying.
~~
Sadie lay sprawled across Jack's bed, her phone held loosely in her hand as she scrolled through texts from her friends back home. Jack was in the shower, insisting he wash the lake water off his body. She had some time to kill and her friends, that weren't her friend group with Jack, were ready to gossip.
The Hottest Girls in Jersey Sadie, Alex, and Carly
Carly: Soooo, how's it going with Mr. NHL?? Alex: yeah, girl. spill. is he, like, actually boyfriend material or are you just having a hot ass summer fling??
Sadie rolled her eyes at their messages, biting her lip as she thought of her reply.
Sadie: it's... complicated Carly: Ugh, isn't it always lol Alex: we need details, sades. what's complicated? the sex? the family? Sadie: family's cool. his mom is like super sweet. and his brothers are... yeah Carly: Oh, brothers, huh? Now you like reallyyyyy need to spill
Sadie hesitated, glancing towards the bathroom door. She could still hear Jack humming to himself while the water ran. No way he was gonna come out and read her messages any time soon.
Sadie: okay, fine. it's not really jack. it's luke Carly: LUKE?! Alex: WAIT. WHAT. HIS BROTHER LUKE?! Sadie: yep. younger brother, but soooooo much more my type Carly: Girllllll, you're bad Alex: hold the fucking phone. is this the guy we're talking about here? what's wrong with jack, then? isn't he like the only reason you're there?
She chuckled to herself, it did kinda sound insane when she typed it all out.
Sadie: jack's great. don't get me wrong. but, luke... he's like more quiet. jack's more playful and sassy, but idk... plus i love a boy with curly hair Carly: You're catching feelings for his brother??? Holy shit, girl Alex: lmao this is legit some CW ass drama
She rolled onto her back, staring at the ceiling. Maybe it was a little ridiculous, but it was true. Luke was more her type. He was tall, not that Jack wasn't tall, but Luke was tall. He had the cutest nose and the best curls she'd ever seen. Jack was fun. Jack was easy. But Luke...
Sadie: it's not that deep. but yeah, ig i'm more into luke than jack Carly: Oooo Alex: you're fake dating jack tho, right? like what's the plan here?? Sadie: i don't fucking know!!! nothing's happened with luke, obviously. but like next time we're alone? i might see what happens ;) Carly: You are fucking INSANE, Sadie!!! Alex: if you're that desperate, you've got Jack right there...
She laughed out loud at Alex's message. She was definitely not desperate, but she still glanced to the bathroom door. The water had stopped. Jack would be out any second.
Sadie: trust me, i'm not desperate. luke's gonna be the move
Just as she hit send, Jack emerged from the bathroom, towel hung low on his hips.
"Texting the girls?" he ran a hand through his wet hair.
She slipped her phone under the pillow, a playful smile on her face. "Yeah, they were asking about you."
Jack raised an eyebrow, falling down onto the bed next to her. "All good things, I hope?"
She snorted, "Guess you'll never know."
He rolled his eyes, pressing a soft kiss to her hair. "Whatever. You were probably telling them how much of a stud I am."
Sadie smirked, though her mind was still buzzing with the excitement of what she'd just admitted to her friends. Jack had no idea, and honestly? That just made it even more thrilling.
~~
Jack bounded into the living room, his backpack slung over one of his shoulders. Sadie was sat on the couch, scrolling passively through Instagram, while Luke stood in the kitchen chugging a glass of water.
"I'm headed to the rink for a few hours," Jack announced, slapping his hand on the back of the couch, full of energy. "Got a little off-season workout with Q and some of the guys."
"A workout?" Sadie quirked an eyebrow. "You never stop, do you?
"That's what makes me so irrresistible, babe." He shot her a wink before turning to Luke. "You busy?"
Luke wiped the back of his hand across his mouth, setting down his glass. "Not really."
"Why don't you keep her company? You guys should hang out. Show her around town or something."
Luke flushed, his eyes flickering to Sadie, who was sat with an amused smile on her face. "Uh, yeah, sure."
"Perfect!" Jack leaned down and kissed Sadie's cheek. "Don't miss me too much while I'm gone, okay?"
"I'll try," she giggled, leaning into his touch but keeping her eyes on Luke.
"See you later! Have fun!"
And just like that Jack was gone.
"Well, looks like it's just us again," Sadie said, stretching dramatically.
"Yeah, guess so."
Sadie stood from the couch, tapping her finger against her lips as if she was thinking. "You know what we should do?"
"What?"
"Go for a swim! It's hot out, and the lake looks amazing."
Luke hesitated. He wasn't sure he could handle that again. But before he could come up with an excuse, Sadie was heading toward the back door.
"Come on! Don't make me swim alone. I might drown."
By the time he made it down to the dock, Sadie was standing at the edge, her back to him as she looked out over the water. She had stripped down to her bikini--a simple black one that fit her like a glove.
Luke shook his head. He had no right to stare. Jack's girlfriend, not his. Get a grip.
"Took you long enough, Luke. Thought you were going to bail on me."
"Just... taking my time." He managed a weak laugh.
"Uh-huh." She dipped her toe in the lake, testing the temperature. "Water feels amazing. Bet I can beat you in."
She dove in without even waiting for an answer. She resurfced a few feet out, shaking the water from her hair and grinning at him. "What're you waiting for?"
Luke hesitated for just a second longer before diving in after her. The shock of the cool water cleared his head. That was until he surfaced and saw Sadie floating nearby, her hair splayed around her like a halo.
"See? Told you it feels amazing."
He swam a bit closer, but decided to keep his distance. "Yeah, guess you were right."
Sadie flipped onto her stomach, treading water as she swam to him. "Relax." She nudged her shoulder with his. "You look so tense."
Her tone was light, but the promixity of them felt almost dangerous. "I am relaxed."
"Bullshit. You look like the tensest motherfucker ever," she splashed him, the water hitting him square in the face. "Come on. Loosen up."
Luke sputtered, wiping the water from his eyes. "Oh, it's gonna be like that, huh?"
"Just sayin'... life's too short to be serious all the time," her hand brushed his arm as she floated by, leaving goosebumps in her wake.
Her touch was light, casual, but it still made it so he couldn't think straight. He wanted to keep his distance, but she wasn't making it easy in the slightest.
"You and I should do this more often," she mused.
"What? Swim?"
She scoffed, "No. Hang out."
Was she messing with him? Or was she being serious? He couldn't tell with her. Her teasing had been light and innocent until now. Now every word that left her mouth felt like it had a second meaning.
"I... I don't know."
What kind of shit response was that? God, he looked like an idiot.
She swam closer to him, stopping when she was right in front of his face. "You don't know? I think you do, Luke."
He could feel her leg brushing against his and his whole body felt like it was one fire despite the cool water. He should've pulled back, but he couldn't. He was frozen.
"Ha! You're cute when you're flustered."
For a moment, he felt himself lean in, as if there was an invisible force pulling him to her. But just as quickly, Sadie pulled away, climbing back onto the dock and swaying her hips as she headed back to the house, leaving the boy completely flabbergasted.
~~
Jim and Ellen had left for a special dinner out and Jack had quickly suggested a game night, complete with alcohol and whatever games they could find in the basement. Luke had agreed, only because he knew he could drink, and that might make being in the same room as Sadie more bearable.
"Alright, team," Jack tossed a can of beer to Luke, who caught it without looking "Game night is on. Hope you're ready to lose, Qball."
"Yeah, yeah. You always say that, but I'm the one who wins."
"You guys don't stand a chance. Right, babe?" Sadie grinned up at Jack.
"You bet. Dream team right here."
Luke looked at them, all snuggled up together. He blinked a few times before chugging the rest of his beer. Jack laughed, "Alright, Lukey." He tossed him another one, getting ready to explain the rules of the game.
By the third round, Jack had pulled Sadie into his lap, his arms wrapped around her waist like a seatbelt. They were laughing, whispering inside jokes, and exchanging kisses, acting like they were the only people in the room.
Luke tried to focus on the game, but he found himself looking up to see Sadie running her fingers through Jack's hair, her other hand squeezing his thigh.
He wanted to believe that she had meant something by the little act she'd put on at the lake. But seeing her all over Jack made him feel like he'd never been so wrong. She was clearly into Jack. She didn't mean anything by it. She's just... being friendly.
So why did it feel like more?
"Can you guys like chill?" Quinn spoke up. "We're trying to play a game, not watch you two make out."
"Oh, come on, Quinn. We're just having fun," Sadie giggled.
"Yeah, don't be a buzzkill," Jack added, pressing kisses to her neck.
"There's having fun, and then there's..." Quinn paused, his voice laced with annoyance. "You're practically having sex in front of us."
"Jealous?"
"No, Luke and I just don't wanna see that."
"Whatever."
"Your turn, Luke."
"Right," he muttered, grabbing the dice and rolling it halfheartedly. The alcohol wasn't helping, dulling his senses and making everything worse. He kept glancing at Sadie, hoping for some sign that she was aware of what she was doing to him, but she didn't even look his way.
The final straw came when Jack, clearly tipsy, pulled Sadie in for a long, slow kiss right in the middle of Quinn's turn. Jack and Sadie were known by their friends for their drunk kisses, but his brothers really didn't want to see it.
"I'm done. You two aren't even playing!" Quinn threw his hands up.
"Fine, fine. We'll stop! Happy now?"
"No. I'm going to bed before I see something even worse."
"Uh, yeah, me too. Night guys," Luke nodded, following his oldest brother.
"Bedtime?" Jack laughed.
"Yeah, bedtime, I guess."
~~
Luke hadn't gone to bed. He couldn't sleep. His brain wouldn't shut up. It had been a couple hours since game night had ended and he felt more sober than he was before he started drinking. Maybe he was insane. Maybe Sadie had driven him to his breaking point. She was so goddamn confusing. And--
"Hey."
"What're you doing out here? Shouldn't you be with Jack?"
She shrugged, closing the sliding door behind her. "He's passed out. I wanted to come find you."
"Sadie, you really shouldn't--"
"I know what you're going to say. But I think you're wrong."
"Wrong?"
Sadie moved in, her hand reaching for his, her fingers tracing along his wrist. "You're overthinking things, Luke."
His breath hitched as she leaned in, her face inches from his, her lips so close he could feel her breath. He should've pulled away. He should've told her to stop.
But he didn't. He couldn't.
Instead, Luke closed the gap between them, his lips crashing against hers in a desperate, longing kiss.
She kissed him back, her hands sliding up to his shoulders. Her touch sent sparks through his body. But those sparks made reality set in.
He pulled away, his chest heaving. "No. This is wrong."
"What?"
"You need to stop," he stood up suddenly, almost making Sadie fall over. His voice was full of anger. "This... this whole thing is fucked up, Sadie. You're Jack's girlfriend."
She stared at him for a second or two before, to Luke's surprise, she started laughing.
"What the hell is so funny?" Luke snapped. "I'm going to tell him. I'm going to tell Jack everything. He needs to know what you've been doing."
"You don't get it, do you?"
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Jack and I aren't really together."
"What... what do you mean?"
Sadie sighed, crossing her arms over her chest. "It's fake. The whole thing--it's just an act."
"An act? What the hell are you talking about?"
"Jack needed me to play the part of his girlfriend for the summer," Sadie explained, her tone casual as if everything she was saying was normal. "Natalie, the neighbour girl. She's obsessed with Jack. And she won't take no for answer. So he asked me to pretend to be his girlfriend so she'd leave him alone."
"So... this is all fake?"
"Yep. We've just been playing the part, that's all."
"But... you guys... you were kissing. You're all over each other."
Sadie shrugged, her smile turning sheepish. "That... that's just something that happens when we drink. No big deal."
"No big deal? You guys were making out in front of us, and you're saying it doesn't mean anything?"
"Exactly. Jack and I are close friends. That's all it is. No feelings involved," her tone was so matter-of-fact it made Luke's stomach churn. "All for show. We figured the more real it looks, the less people will question it."
"So... you don't have feelings for him?"
"For Jack? No. We're friends. Nothing more. We've been friends since he joined the Devils. And yeah, we get a bit... affectionate when we drink. But it's never been serious."
"Then why... why were you flirting with me?"
"Because, Luke... you're the definition of my type." She reached out and brushed her hand against his cheek. "Didn't think it was that hard to figure out."
"But Jack..."
"Jack doesn't care," she cut him off. "He's the one that suggested I hang out with you more. He's clueless. He only cares that I keep Natalie away from him."
"So this whole time, you've been..."
"I've been flirting with you. And you've been trying soooo hard to resist. It's kinda cute."
He had been so sure that what he felt was wong--so convinced that he was betraying Jack. Now... now he didn't know what to think.
"This is... this is insane."
"Maybe. But it's also kinda fun. Don't ya think?"
Luke didn't know how the hell he was supposed to respond to that. Everything he thought he understood had just been flipped upside down, and now he was standing there with Sadie--Jack's not-so-girlfriend--who had just admitted she'd been flirting with him for days. Part of him wanted to kiss her again. The other part was screaming at him to stop because even if they weren't dating, it still felt like he was lying to his brother.
"I... I don't know what to do."
"Don't have to do anything. Just think about it, I guess. I'm not going anywhere. Jack's got me stuck here for a while."
She winked, turning toward the door, leaving Luke alone with his thoughts once again.
~~
Jack was up, chatting with his parents over breakfast, Sadie sat next to him looking as carefree as ever. Luke was watching her silently from across the room, his mug of coffee in his grip.
She glanced over at him and smiled like nothing had changed. But everything had changed. And Luke knew he needed to talk to her. He hated pretending things were normal when they weren't. His mind was playing the kiss on repeat and the way she'd admitted her relationship with Jack was just for show.
It all felt like a weird dream.
When Jack got up to grab some more cereal, Luke saw his chance.
"Sadie," he whispered, "can we talk? Alone?"
She raised an eyebrow, glancing at Jack who was now rummaging through the fridge for some milk. "Sure. Lead the way."
Once they were inside Luke's room, Sadie leaned against the wall, her arms crossed over her chest. "What's up? I see Mr. Serious is back."
"I just... I need to understand how this is supposed to work. The whole thing with Jack. You and me. All of it."
"What's there to understand? Jack's clueless. He doesn't know anything. Not that he'd care anyway."
"You make it sound so simple."
"Because it is," she shrugged. "You're overcomplicating it."
"I don't know if I can keep this up. It's driving me crazy."
"Is it? Because it didn't seem like you were too hard of a time last night on the porch."
"Fuck it," he muttered.
He grabbed Sadie by the waist, before he could second-guess himself, crashing his lips against hers in a kiss full of pent-up frustration and desire.
Sadie definitely didn't second-guess anything, kissing him back as her hands ran up to his hair. Any boundaries that Luke had tried to build had been torn down, but he didn't care. He couldn't stop.
They stumbled backward, his hands sliding down a bit to her hips. The kiss deepened, becoming more heated with every passing second. The rest of the world melted away, the only sound in the room their ragged breathing as they broke apart just to kiss again.
The bed hit the back of Luke's knees and they collapsed onto it, lips still locked. For one of the first times since Luke had met Sadie, he wasn't busy thinking about right or wrong. He wasn't thinking about Jack or the consequences of his actions. All that mattered was Sadie, the taste of her lips, and how tight her fingers were gripping his hair.
Just as things were about to heat up further, Jack's voice echoed from the bottom of the stairs.
"Sadie? You up there?"
She pulled back instantly, her lips swollen from the kiss. "Shit," she whispered. "I should... I should go."
Luke didn't say anything, his eyes half-lidded. Sadie stood up, adjusting her shirt and hair as she shot him a smile "Sorry, Luke. Duty calls."
She looked back at him one last time as she opened the door. "This isn't over."
What had he gotten himself into?
~~
It had been a couple days since Sadie and Luke had shared their first kiss, and they'd been sneaking around ever since. Little touches when no one was looking, stolen kisses behind closed doors. The more they got away with, the more daring they became.
That afternoon, Jack had been outside messing around with Quinn by the dock, while Sadie had slipped away, telling Jack she needed to grab something from inside. Luke had been alone in the house, trying to clear his head. But the second Sadie entered the living room, everything went out the window.
And suddenly, they were tangled together on the couch, lips locked. Sadie gripped the front of his t-shirt, tugging gently. It was just them in that moment, tension building higher and higher, and Luke couldn't stop himself from enjoying it.
Then the door slammed.
They pulled apart just in time to see Jack standing in the doorway, his eyes wide with shock. The expression on his face was confused, almost dazed as he stared at them.
"Uh... what the fuck?" His tone was sharp, but not angry--more like he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
Luke's hands fell away from Sadie as he shot up from the couch, his face flushed. "Jack, I--"
Jack cut him off, pacing the room, his eyes shooting between them as he tried to piece everything together. "How long... how long has this been going on?"
Sadie just waited for Luke to speak.
"Luke, how long?" Jack repeated.
"A couple days. It just... happened."
"A couple days? And you just didn't think to say anything?"
Luke opened his mouth to respond, but Jack's attention shifted to Sadie. "Does he know? About us?"
"Yes, Jack. I told him. He knows it's all fake."
"So... you knew? You knew it was fake, so you decided..." Jack gestured wildly between them, pacing again, his hands tugging at his hair. "I don't get it. I don't fucking get it."
"Jack, I didn't mean for any of this to happen--"
"Didn't mean for what to happen? You didn't mean to start sneaking around with my fake girlfriend? Or you didn't mean to fall for her?"
Jack wasn't yelling. He wasn't angry. He just looked... confused. Hurt, maybe? And that just made it all so much worse.
"J, listen. This whole thing--it got out of hand. Luke and I... we didn't plan this. Just happened."
"But you two... were just... you were just making out on the couch! How does that 'just happen?'"
Sadie rolled her eyes, "Just does."
"Clearly! I mean, I thought everything was fine. I thought everyone was just hanging out, and meanwhile, you two are making out on the couch?"
"I'm sorry, Jack. I..."
"I'm not mad. Just... what the hell, guys? I don't understand."
"J, it's not like that. You and I--we're just friends. You know that. This shit with Luke... it's different."
"Different how?"
"Dunno. Just is."
Finally, Jack let out a long sigh, running a hand down his face. "Okay. Okay, fine. You two... you do whatever. I just... I need a minute to process all this."
Sadie opened her mouth to respond, but Jack held up a hand, stopping her. "Seriously, just... gimme a minute. I'll be outside if you need me."
Luke collapsed onto the couch, his head in his hands as Jack retreated outside. Could this get any worse?
~~
The rest of the day had been weird and silent. Sadie had spent it journaling and reading, giving both brothers the space that they needed. But as they got ready for bed, things were the most awkward they'd ever been between Jack and Sadie. Jack moved around the room, grabbing his phone charger and tossing it onto his nightstand, while Sadie stood by the dresser, pulling a t-shirt over her head. Neither of them spoke, both waiting for the other to break the silence.
"So... are we going to talk about this?" Sadie finally gave in.
"Talk about what?"
"You know what," she gave him a look. "About you walking in on me and Luke today."
"What's there to talk about? I mean... I get it. You guys--"
"Are you jealous?" she interrupted, her voice timid. "Like, even a little bit?"
Jack blinked, caught off guard by the question. "Jealous?" He furrowed his brow. "No. I don't think so."
"Not even like... deep down?"
"Honestly?"
She nodded, urging him to continue.
"No. I don't feel jealous. I mean, maybe if I did... I'd be way more upset about it all. But.. I dunno. I've only ever seen you as a friend. Same way you see me. A close one, sure, but still... just a friend. You know that."
"Yeah, I do. But you were really thrown off earlier, Jack. You seemed so... I dunno.... confused?"
"Yeah. I think it was more just the shock of it, ya know? Didn't expect to walk in and see my brother making out with my fake girlfriend."
She let out a small laugh. "So it's not weird for you? At all?"
"I guess it's weird in the sense that... I knew that you and Luke would get along. I just didn't think you'd get along this well."
"Yeah, I didn't exactly see it coming either."
"But no, I'm not mad or anything. Honestly, I think you and Luke fit each other way better than you and me ever could. I'm just surprised... I guess."
"Surprised how?"
Jack sighed, leaning back against the headboard. "I just never thought that... bringing you here would lead to you two... doing whatever this is."
"We haven't really figured it out," she rubbed at her arm.
Sadie climbed into bed first, pulling the covers over herself. Jack followed suit, but as they lay there side by side, for the first time since Sadie had arrived, he made no move to cuddle. No arm draped over her waist. He just laid there, staring at the ceiling.
"You don't want to cuddle tonight?"
Jack hesitated, then sighed for the millionth time that day. "It's just... it feels weird now, I guess. Knowing you've been doing... stuff with Luke. It's different."
Sadie bit her lip, and for the first time she felt that guilt that Luke had been feeling. "Jack... I'm sorry. I didn't mean for things to get so complicated."
"Nah, don't worry about it. It's not like you did anything wrong... really. Things are just different now... that's all."
Jack rolled over, facing the other side of the bed, leaving a noticeable gap between them. Sadie stared at the back of his head for a moment, feelings like she should reach out and say something. But it was too late, Jack was already asleep.
~~
Sadie and Luke sat at the end of the dock. The whole day had been awkward and Sadie felt even more out of place than she had when she first arrived.
"I don't want to make this weird," Sadie said, her voice soft, but her eyes locked with Luke's. "I really like you, but if it's gonna screw up my friendship with Jack... we should stop. We have to."
"I like you too. More than I thought I would. But yeah, this whole thing with Jack... it's too complicated. I don't wanna hurt my brother. I'd feel so guilty."
"We have to end things. It's not fair to him. Or us."
"I don't want to end things though," Luke admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "This... it's not just about the physical stuff to me. I feel something with you, Sadie. Something real."
"I feel it too. But I can't mess up things with Jack, so maybe it's better if we end things now before they get more complicated."
Jack, who had been on his way back inside, had walked past and heard his friend and brother talking. He leaned against a tree, piecing together everything they were saying. His stomach turned. But it wasn't anger. Or jealousy. He wasn't upset. It was relief. Luke and Sadie really liked each other. It wasn't just some sneaky hookup. It wasn't fair to make them feel guilty for something that wasn't even real to begin with.
"Hey."
Sadie and Luke both jumped, practically leaping out of their skin.
"Jack, I--"
"You don't have to explain anything. I heard what you guys were saying. And look, it's fine. You don't have to end whatever this is."
Sadie blinked in surprise. "You're not upset?"
Jack shook his head, a smile forming on his lips. "No. I'm not. I'm actually happy for you guys."
"Happy for who?" Ellen's voice joined the conversation.
"Jesus, is everyone listening to us?" Luke whispered to Sadie.
Jim and Quinn were close behind Ellen, also curious to what was happening on the dock.
"Luke and Sadie."
"Luke and Sadie?"
"Yeah, they're in love."
"We're not in--"
"Luke's in love with your girlfriend?" Quinn asked.
"About that..." Sadie rubbed her arm awkwardly.
"Sadie and I aren't really dating. We're friends. Close friends. She was just trying to help me get Natalie off my back. And I was helping her get her parents off her back," Jack admitted.
The family stared at him for a beat, then burst into laughter.
"Are you serious? All this was just to keep Natalie away?"
"Pretty much."
Ellen, still smiling, looked at Sadie and Luke, then back to Jack. "You know, Jack... I thought from the start that Sadie was a better fit for Luke anyway."
"Looks like you this turned out well for everyone," Quinn laughed.
Luke turned to Sadie, sliding his fingers between hers. "So... now that the truth's out... what do you think?"
"I think we've got time to figure it out," she giggled, leaning her head on his shoulder. And finally after weeks of being there, Sadie felt like she belonged.

Fuck it. Your boyfriend had been busy with everything that he barely even gave you wince or even a peek on God knows what the fuck you're doing. You could've sworn you'd heard him confess everything to that pile of papers infront of him.
This time, he finally crossed the line. He had the audacity to question what was happening to you, and that you should know what you were doing. He'd been glued on those 'works' for weeks, if not even months!
So you took matters into your hands, opening your cabinet to find the perfect outfit to wear today, you decided to wear what would show more skin than the clothes itself. Walking around the submarine submerged into the depths of the ocean while wearing the skimpiest outfit ever? Bad idea. You were just happy enough that the sub was resurfaced just a week ago.
You had your plan on you, you were planning on seducing one of the crewmates of your boyfriend. Come on now, if he just gave you an ounce of attention you wouldn't of done this. You already had a person on your mind, or should you say persons.
Penguin and Shachi, they've never thought that you caught them glacing up and down on you the first day Law had introduced you to them. Plus, they looked like they hadn't touched a woman in ages. And hey, they looked fine too.
Making your way into wherever the fuck they were, you had catched them bickering in the kitchen.
"Yoi! (Name)—..." Penguin freezes all of the sudden as you enter, glaring you up and down then looks towards Shachi.
"...Woah, did the captain finally let you wear those?" Shachi chuckled with a smirk on his face, adjusting his glasses.
"Duh! No way, i can wear what i want and it doesn't matter if he doesn't like it!" You said with a shrug.
"..Well, it definitely screams trouble, (Name).." Why the hell is Penguin so concerned? Did you make a bad choice and this plan would backfire?
"Tch." You scoffed at his response, deciding to try and make this plan go perfectly. You 'accidentally' drop your glasses when you took them off, so you, bend over to pick them up, infront of them of course.
They were shocked, baffled even. Shachi fell from the chair he was sitting on, Penguin who you could've sworn foamed in the mouth from being shocked. Even so it was all followed by them smirking at your deeds.
"W-what are you doing (Name)?! If the captain even finds out, we're d—"
"And he doesn't need to know." You shut them up with both your index fingers, trailing from their mouths to their collarbone. "Shut it, then maybe I'll consider it"
They gave each other a look before turning towards you again, swallowing thickly. "Then cover for us, (Name)."
"Will do." As soon as does words escaped your mouth— you latched your mouth onto Penguin's neck, giving him soft bites while Shachi was buried at the side of your clothed tits.
As soon as everything was going just fine, someone has enetered the kitchen. "(Name)-Ya, are you—...here." Shit, maybe deciding to fuck around in the kitchen was a bad idea in the first place.
"Captain! It's definitely what you think! We—"
"It was my idea, whoops." You give Law an awkward smile and a wave.
Without a word, Law drags you out of the room, gripping your wrists so tight. It almost felt like he was tearing it off your body. He dragged you into the shared bedroom, locks the door and faces you.
"What the fuck was that, (Name)?" You felt the irritation in his voice, now it made you feel guilty. Maybe you just didn't think of your actions correctly. Fuck.
"Silent now are we? What, i haven't given you attention so you decided to be a whore?" His voice was getting lower, yet it felt so intimidating, like it was drilling holes into your brain. You felt the lump in your throat slowly grow every second.
"S-shit, m'sorry, I didn't think it through I—" "You what? Decided to seek attention? FROM my crewmates?" You definitely wont be able to excuse yourself out of this monstrosity.
"Let's see how sorry you are, ya?" That's it, this is your end. You'll die here for being selfish. You closed your eyes and waited for his attack, until he didnt. Instead, he grabbed your shoulders and throwing you into your shared bed, hitting your head slightly.
"ow.." you caress your head as it hit the bedframe, feeling the matress shifting as Law climbed on top of you and pulled you onto a deep kiss.
He grabbed your hips and flipped you, now laying in your stomach. He opened the the bed side table and ramaged through it, pulling out a blindfold and tied it against your sight tightly. You felt him grab your hips again, now pulling you closer to him, his hands were trembling and cold.
He raised your skirt, then he moves your panties onto the side. You shivered at his act and and specifically because of his cold hands. You could feel him checking the way your cunt was dripping juices.
"So wet already? I was only touching you, you must be enjoying this then." The way he speaks to you made you wanna disappear right away, his tone was cold and it brought shivers down your spine.
It only became even worser as you didn't know what he was planning, your sight was blindfolded and could only take whatever feels around you, the way his breath hitches, or his cold tone. He lands a sharp slap up your ass, causing you to jump at the sudden reaction. Then again, and again. You felt your ass being red from his harsh and sharp slaps.
"This is what you get for fucking around, especially when you have me right here. So desperate for attention? I'll give you what you're seeking for." He lands another slap, and repeats it for atleast twelve more times until he was satisfied on how he left hand marks on your ass.
"Silent now are we? Finally rethinking of what you've done?" He waits for your answer. You were thinking of finally saying that you were sorry, but you thought that you'd wanna see where this goes if you admit you weren't sorry at all. "Answer."
"N..no way! not even a bit!" ...you regretted it immediately.
He didn't answer back, he pulled your hips once again and you felt your panties being snatched by him in a fast pace, he holds the collar of your top and opens your mouth, shoving your panties inside it.
"Then you better start praying that you'll be functioning by tomorrow." He presses you into the matress, and he immediately thrusts inside you. You released a loud moan that was muffled and you felt saliva dripping at the corner of your mouth.
He barely gave you time to adjust at his length, as he almost immediately started moving inside you. From the lack of adjustment it felt painful but was replaced by pleasure soon after. His pace was monstrous and hard, you could hear the loud noises of skins colliding across the whole room.
Noises you made were all muffled from the cloth that was inside your mouth, your body was getting hot as climax climbed through you. His pace was faltering and eventually he stopped, then pulled out. Leaving you whining on his touch.
"what? You actually expect me to let you off after what you've done? Don't start whining that you couldn't cum." He grabs your panties from your mouth and removes it off you, "And you better use that mouth of yours to beg, otherwise, I'll leave you hanging."
"p-please.." your voice was low, but loud enough for him to hear.
"please what? You expect me to obey you when I can't even here your voice? Louder." You received goosebumps from the way he commanded you.
"m..your cock..please."
"louder"
"..your cock, please! I want it inside!" It took you all your guts to fully say it out loud without stuttering.
"that's better." He took another second, then thrusts inside of you once again.
You let of another moan, this time, a loud and clear one. He starts moving slowly then immediately pacing faster once again.
His pace was uncontrollable, definitely the hardest yet the best feeling he'd ever gave you. You felt yourself on the edge once again, the hotness revving through your body once again.
"Fuck— you're close aren't you?" He groans as you clenched on him.
"y-yes! P-please let me cum!" The way his pace became even faster left a permanent mark deep inside you.
"yeah, come on my cock—" his breath hitches as his pace slowed, feeling your release on him, he follwed not far behind. Thrusting his cock slowly as he pumped it all inside you, making sure not to let it drip out. You moaned his name as you felt him finish deep inside you, his cum was hot and thick. It felt as if it were melting your walls.
"(Name)—, you better fucking come to me when you need it that bad."
"I promise! But i wouldn't mind doing it again if it means by you fucked me that hard.."
—So, i actually kinda have a head cannon that he talks you through fucking you, like so teasing and a demanding tone BECAUSE he knows you like it and turns you on. <3

matey. I have this cute soft idea if you're interested in writing it ofc. basically fem reader where she's a lady of noble blood and knows aemond since they were kids. but there was always this awkwardness around them which slowly turned into disgust (lol bish why you lying, why you always lying) one day she's with helaena or lady friends and they ask her who she would marry from court if she had to choose which she replies with "I would marry aemond in a heartbeat" forgetting that she said that out loud with aemond overhearing it somewhere hiding behind a pillar or something lol. and the next day she keeps questioning herself why aemond is suddenly wearing his nice clothes, helping her with something? and then when she wants to bid him goodnight he replies with a sneaky "I would marry you too in a heartbeat" which ends with her all flustered or something lol. idk what this is honestly, It just popped into my head.
Hi dearest! I'd love to write a lil something based on this lovely prompt!
Aemond x reader | fluff | Aemond being as discreet as a car backfiring
Laughter surrounded you, the ladies you sat with in the fragrant gardens tittering to each other, blushes upon their dimpled cheeks. You set aside your book of Old Valyrian poems and leaned in conspiratorially. "Okay Rosaline, your turn. Who would you marry?"
Rosaline, a lovely curvy girl around your age with russet curls and a freckled face, laughed harder. "I cannot say, lady Y/N. Though lord Jason Lannister is rather easy on the eyes is he not?"
You shrugged. "If you go for that sort of pomposity, I suppose."
"Well, who do you fancy, Y/N?" Rosaline asked, huffing at you with slightly narrowed brown eyes.
You hesitated, all eyes now upon you, growing more curious with each second of silence.
"Well? Now you have to tell us!" A girl with straight brown hair piped up, her doe eyes mischievous. "You were so eager to hear our own secrets!"
"I...I've always. Well. Prince Aemond if you must know." Your fingers clasped together upon your lap, so tight your knuckles went white.
There was a beat of stunned silence, then the girls lapsed into another fit of giggles.
"Prince Aemond?" Rosaline choked.
"Haven't you been friends since you were children?"
"I thought they went for their siblings?"
"He doesn't have an eye, Y/N! How could you possibly think he's a suitable match?"
"Excuse me." You said rather flatly. "When any of you ride the largest dragon in Westeros, then you can talk."
"He is rather easy on the eyes." A Tyrell girl spoke in a thin voice. "Though I've heard rumors circulating he is rather callous and keeps to himself."
"He's not callous." You defended. "Though we do have our disagreements."
"Oh yes!" Rosaline tittered again. You fought the urge to smack her. "I've heard you two have been at odds the past few weeks. Lover's quarrel?"
"I-we are not-where did you hear...you know what it doesn't matter." You rose abruptly, forgetting the book beside you on the bench. "Aemond alone is worth a hundred times more than all of you put together. I would marry him in a heartbeat."
"What's under that horrid eyepatch he wears?" A sneering Lannister lady sniggered.
"Something far more interesting than what's under your garish skirts!" You shot back, a shocked silence following your impetuous outburst.
You cast one last scorching look over the gathered women, before gathering your dress and taking your leave of them, face burning.
You retired to your chambers, skipping the dinner feast, not wishing to see those girls again that day. You were still fuming. It was true, you and Aemond had not spoken since a heated argument a few weeks prior. However, this was not the first time you two had been at odds. Nor would it be the last, you reckoned.
A soft knock at your door roused you from your contemplation beside the fire. You rose from the sofa, crossing the carpeted floor and swinging the heavy oak door open to reveal Aemond standing in the doorway.
"Oh!" You said, too surprised to come up with anything witty.
"Walk with me?" Aemond held out his arm for you to take. His hair looked like it was freshly brushed, shining silver in the torchlight as he guided you down the hall into a deserted courtyard.
The evening air was alive with birdsong, the sky above a shock of orange and red as the sun made its western descent.
"I came to apologize." Aemond said as the two of you meandered out into the gardens you had spent your afternoon in.
"Apologize? You? Be still my heart!"
"Don't make me regret it, Y/N." The prince groaned, releasing your arm and turning to you, the vista of the city's red roofs and the sparkling sea framed behind him. "I behaved...rather appallingly and I regret not coming to you sooner."
"You were a bit of an ass, tis true." You smiled impishly at the way he fought down a grimace at your words.
"As if you were any better."
"I was right." You folded your arms across your chest.
Aemond clasped his hands tightly behind his straight back. "It is a matter of opinion whether Dorne is more progressive than us."
"No, Aemond. I'm afraid that's a fact."
Aemond breathed hard through his nostrils; you watched with interest as he collected himself. "I came to apologize not to argue further."
He opened his jacket and pulled out a small box from a pocket within. "And to give you this as a sign of my...remorse."
You squinted at him. "Did your mother tell you to say that?"
Aemond didn't answer, his brow raising at you as he gestured for you to take his gift. You lifted the box from his palm, undoing the string and opening it. A silver brooch lay within, bearing the insignia of your house. Small finely crafted letters spelled out your house words below the image.
"It's quite lovely, my prince." Your face softened as you took it out and fasted the piece to your bodice. "I will wear it with pride. Thank you."
Aemond graced you with a genuine smile, his eye lingering upon the pin now secured above your heart. You tracked his gaze with interest as it roved across your curves before snapping guiltily back up to your face.
"See something you like?" You teased, flashing a grin at him.
Aemond didn't answer, though he held your gaze as you stepped closer, noting how the breath caught in his throat at your sudden proximity. Your brow furrowed as you looked at the odd expression on his face, nothing you had seen there before.
"Are you well, Aemond?"
"No." Aemond shook his head. "Let us continue our walk."
The two of you walked side by side around the gardens, the deepening twilight enveloping you, stars unveiling one by one in the dusky sky. Your knuckles brushed against Aemond's, you extended your pinky, hooking it around his. Heat rose to your face as Aemond's fingers slid to tangle with your own, your hands intertwined as you strode along the path back to the Keep.
He did not break his grip on you, even as you stood again before your chamber door.
"This is where I bid you a good night, Y/N." He spoke softly.
"Yes, it is." You sounded breathless, not pulling away as he turned to face you directly, leaning down as he brushed his lips to the back of your hand.
"Y/N?"
"Yes, Aemond?"
"I would also marry you in a heartbeat."
You stopped breathing. He had overheard the whole exchange in the gardens. Blood rushed in your ears as, wide eyed, you watched as Aemond lingered long enough to take in your expression before he turned on a booted heel and strode down the hallway.
Gathering your wits once more, you shouted after him just as he reached the corner. "Aemond!" He halted, looking back at you with ill-concealed amusement. "Get back here or so help me..." You pointed to the ground in front of your door.
"We can continue this discussion tomorr-"
"No. No, you don't get to say something like that and just walk away." You hissed, leaving your chamber open as you stomped down the hallway to where he stood waiting, his lilac eye sparkling with delight.
Aemond took your forearms in his hands when you reached for him, pulling you in so quickly you stumbled, falling against his chest. "You overheard me today?" You asked, looking up at his angular face as his fingers traced your jaw.
"Mmm. I did indeed. You're quite the sight in your anger." His eye glittered. "Even more enchanting when it's on my behalf."
"They were wrong to say such things." You breathed, your voice only a whisper as the distance between your faces slowly closed.
"I rest easy knowing I have a champion in you, to defend my honor." Aemond chuckled, his breath tickling your lips.
You weren't sure who moved first, or if it was simultaneous, but you felt the press of his mouth against yours, your eyes fluttering closed as your hands buried themselves in his silken hair.
He moved against you, backing you up until you hit the wall, a gasp at the impact opening your mouth to him as he began exploring you with his slick tongue. The scent of him surrounding you, the feel of him caging you in, pressing his knee between your thighs, drew a soft whimper from your lips that he drank down with relish.
"Do that again." He murmured, tugging your hair until you exposed your throat to his touches.
"Make me." You smirked at the arched ceiling, quickly losing what little composure you had won back as he took your challenge to heart.
Aemond made you emit many more sounds of pleasure throughout the course of that night. Stifling your cries with his large hand at one point so as to not alert any nearby guard patrols. With the promises of a lifetime together to come he claimed you as his own, swearing in return to be yours until his dying day.

I Hate My Coworker (Chapter 5)
Pairing: Modern Au! Barista! Kit Thantalos x Barista! Reader
Summary: Kit gets distant and you wonder why.
Warning: Swearing, SMUT, Kit and reader is 18+
Chapters: Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4
Song Recommendation: Fever - Dua Lipa,Angèle
A few days passed since you opened up to Kit about everything. Joseph was in shock to see you getting along. There was just a tiny little problem. You started to realize you feel attracted to Kit.
You realized you were jealous of her when you saw the regular customer again, Rachel's hand touched on her hand while giving her the tray. You saw Kit pause for a second than her face fell. She looked at Rachel and Rachel winked at her.
You felt nauseous.
You never did anything sexual with Kit after your confession but you felt your friendship bloom.
Now, you were left alone with your feelings while making a latte for the waiting customer.
"Here's your latte. " You smiled to the customer.
"Thank you." The man took the latte from your hands.
"Enjoy."
He was about to leave the shop but he turned and approached to you again.
"Actually, Can I ask you something? " It was obvious he was nervous.
"Uhm...yes." You were curious.
" Can I ask your number? " He smiled shyly.
He was cute but
He wasn't Kit.
You looked at Kit's direction to see her watching you two carefully with wide eyes. She looked like a tigeress waiting to attack.
You smirked to her direction and turned to the man with a smile.
"Sure."
You started writing your number on the cup and you gave it to the man.
You looked at Kits direction to see her nowhere to be found.
You wanted her to be jealous. You couldn't help but think maybe that backfired.
~~~
You barely talked Kit after the man you gave your number left the shop.
You picked your backpack and you were ready to leave. You saw Kit leaving the shop as well. After you made up she never left the shop without saying goodbye.
"Hey! Kit! "
She turned around with an annoyed face.
"What? "
You backed away in shock.
" What's wrong? "
"Nothing." She kept on walking and you followed her.
"There's clearly something! Did I do something wrong? " When she ignored you again, you stood in your place and shouted.
"Talk to me Thantalos! " You were pissed.
She turned to your direction and started walking towards you.
"Are you mad? " She asked you, shocked from your shouting.
"You made me mad. " You blurted.
She chuckled to your answer.
"What's wrong? "
She wet her lips before she talked.
"For someone who doesn't flirt with random strangers you were pretty good today. You literally looked into my eyes while giving him your number."
So, she got jealous...
"So, you're jealous... " Your smile met your eyes.
"Jealous? I-I thought that you thought It was inappropriate to give numbers to strangers in your workplace. " She tried to explain nervously.
This was her first time being nervous in front of you.
You rolled your eyes. "Like you care. "
"I don't but you do." She looked away.
You bit inside of your cheek.
"Did you give her your number? "
Kit raised her brow in confusion.
"Who?"
"Rachel."
"Why do you ask? " She crossed her arms with a wicked smile.
"Just, I'm trying to make a conversation, okay! " You explained in hurry and rage.
"I didn't give her my number... and I don't plan on it." She eyed you up and down.
"Hm... Maybe after brushing your fingers and after intense eye contact I might have think in that way..."
She heavily breathed.
"See, you're the one who is jealous. Also, she touched me..."
"Hm..."
"So will you? "
"Will I what? "
"Answer his call and go out with him? "
She asked you and tried to look not interested as she can be.
"I don't know..." You averted your eyes.
"Hm...He didn't seem like your type." She corrected her posture.
"How do you know my type? " You laughed at her.
She looked at your eyes without saying anything but she had a hopeful expression on her face as much as you can tell.
"Do you want to come over?" Words slipped out your mouth before you could help it.
Her eyes widened a little then she looked down at her feet.
"For what? "
"Hang out, watch a movie? My grandma is staying with her sister. House is empty. "
"I wouldn't mind your grandma. I like her. She is lovely."
" Well, too bad It's just me then. "
"Yeah, too bad." She nudged your arm with hers playfully as you walk towards your house.
~~~
You played an action - comedy movie you both watched and liked before. You made some popcorn for both of you to eat.
You put them into different bowls so there was no chance of your hands touching each other.
Even though you wanted them to.
You felt like Kit was jealous but you weren't sure If she felt the same as you. Maybe she was just fooling around.
"Y/N? " Kit called your name.
Your head slowly turned to her as If you were in a trance.
"Sorry... did you say something? "
"Just... You have been looking at your bowl for five minutes." She explained.
"Oh." Was all that came out.
"Are you okay? "
"Yeah, just zoned out."
"Hm... " She narrowed her eyes.
You sighed.
"Why don't you go out with Rachel? " You popped the question all of a sudden.
She looked at you dumbfounded.
"Why should I? " She turned to you.
"She seems nice and pretty. " You looked at your bowl again.
"I am attracted to more than nice and pretty. " She said proudly.
"Oh yeah? Like what? "
"I like it when someone challenges me."
Oh.
"That's different... In a good way."
"Yeah... " She said and she looked at you.
You looked at her. She was close. Your shoulders were touching. Her eyes darted to your lips and your darted to hers.
"I find it really attractive when someone is being stubborn and-" She wet her lips, keeping the eye contact with you.
You moved a little closer and she closed the gap between you two.
Your hands went to the back of her neck, playing and tugging with the short hairs. Her hands found your waist as you sloppily made out with her. You melt into her embrace. Her smell was intoxicating your mind. You wanted more. You left her lips and she whined. You went for her neck. You hold her neck with one of your hand you gently started sucking it. You felt Kit smile. You bit her neck to leave a hickey and she moaned as soon as you did.
You waited too long to hear that sound.
"Marking me up already? " She giggled.
You didn't say anything as a reply.
Her hand found the back of your head and started to caress it. You licked to soothe where you left a hickey on her neck. So that Rachel girl knows that she's not available.
And because you also wanted to do that.
She started to kiss your neck too slowly bu then she got eager.
"Do you want a matching one of those? " She asked but she didn't wait for your response as she bit the flesh on top of your collarbone and you moaned loudly. She sucked on it to soothe but it hurted like h*ll... In a good way.
"Now, what will he think If you meet him cause It's gonna be very purple."
Her hand found it's way inside your tshirt.
"Kit, please. " You moaned into her ear. That snapped something in her as she got rid of your tshirt and you helped her git rid of hers too.
You started kissing again furiously. All that sexual tension built up between you two was finally releasing.
She attacked your boob with her mouth as her hand freed you from your bra. Her teeth found it's way that sensitive spot, side of your boob and bit there mercilessly.
"That's for hitting my boob. " She said between kisses.
"If that's the result I can keep on hitting them. " You whined.
She laughed at what you have just said.
You got rid of her bra. She was beautiful.
"You can touch them. "
You cupped her breasts and started playing with them.
"Just please don't hit."
"No promises. " You giggled as you sucked her nipple and your other hand squeezed the other one.
Your hand found it's way to her jeans as her hands did too.
"I did promised you a head, right? " She asked as she bit her lip.
"Hm... you didn't forget. " you said playfully.
"How can I forget? " She rolled her eyes while smiling.
"Okay, then get to work." You patted your led twice.
"As you wish. " She opened her arms to both sides.
She got rid of your pants and panties and digged her head between your legs. You felt her licking and sucking your clit. You started to squirm but she held your legs and didn't let you move around. She stabilized you with her one arm and squeezed the other one on the couch. You felt her finger playing with your clit then pumping two fingers inside.
"Y-you're tight... F*ck."
You held onto her arm as she was keep pumping and curling those fingers inside you.
Your moans filled the house.
You whined as you felt the lack of fingers inside you but she started to use her tounge again. You didn't know how she did it but she knew what she was doing. She moaned too as you tugged her hair. She held both of your legs with her arms and devoured down there. Your mind felt fuzzy and blank. You couldn't think if anything but only felt pleasure.
"Kit I think I'm-"
"Come for me. " She said and then continued to devour you.
You relaxed your body and let go as she told you to. She licked every last drop came inside you. Then her fingers but she didn't licked them all. She left two for you and you licked them all the way, of course you kept the eye contact.
She looked delighted from seeing you like this.
You reached to her pants and opened them and tugged them down. She was already soaking. You left butterfly kisses on her thighs. She leaned down on the couch and your fingers found it's way to her clit.
You curled and curled your fingers, hitting that sweet spot of hers again and again.
Her moans and sounds of wetness were filling the house now.
You felt ecstatic to make her feel this way.
"I-Im comi-"
"Come on my hand! " You growled.
She looked at you with lidded eyes.
You kissed each of her eyes.
She was so pretty like this.
When she came you licked your hand clean and leave two for her as she did with you. You understood why she looked so delighted during you sucking them clean.
~~~
After you cleaned up, you cuddled on the couch, face to face.
You pecked her lips. She pecked your nose then your forehead. Your forehead touched hers as you kept looking into her blue eyes.
Before you both fell asleep on the couch, her face was the last thing you see.
OK THIS JUST CAME TO MIND
imagine pav x grumpy reader
(reblogs are greatly appreciated, it helps get my content out there! if you guys like what you see, please reblog it too <:D)
"come onnnnn, just curve your lips, then bam, you're drop dead gorgeous!" pav says as he curves your lips with the ends of his pointer fingers, smiling for demonstration as he does or because of how funny you seem when he's trying to teach you how to smile.
the moment he lets go of your lips, your smile doesn't last another second. you're back to frowning, being, what pav loves to call you: a grump. he groaned. "ugh, it's like you don't have a bone of fun and happiness in you! no wonder spider man's fed up with your attitude..." he mutters to himself.
you put your hands on your hips and furrow your eyebrows at him. "what did you say, prabhakar?" you asked in a stern tone, a tone that was as cold as a blizzard. it was tense, pav shivered when you asked him the question.
he smiled nervously and laughed. "ah, um... no, nothing, nothing." he said as he fidgeted with his fingers, then ran a hand through his wavy hair. "i'm just concerned for you, y'know. maybe in a year or two, you won't wanna be this, like... this cesspool of grumpiness. i've seen you smile before, i mean, uh... i've heard you're capable of real fun. and i want to see that version of you." he said with a more genuine smile, and with a tone that was nothing but sincerity but into sound.
you looked at pav with a puzzled look, you raised your eyebrows, your eyes widened a little as you listened to him. but you refused to put down your angry demeanor and crossed arms over your chest. "if this is some elaborate plan in getting me to act childish, well guess what, it's backfired. miserably." you say with emphasis on 'miserably'.
pav looked at you with a saddened eyes. "it's not, though!" he retorted, trying to convince you with all his might. "i've seen you smile before, i swear it! i'd never lie, even towards you! you have such bright eyes when you smile, such beautiful teeth that i can't help but stare at, and don't get me started on your lips! the way they curve when... you're having time of your life, i've--" pav cuts himself off to look at you, red in the face and widened eyes.
"...i really like you." he confesses, looking away from you, a little ashamed of himself that he was trying to force you to smile all because he wanted to see it again. he liked you, no, he loved you, all this time.
you felt a warmth creep up your cheeks, it enveloped around your face, and soon, you were blushing.
"i'm sorry, okay? i just... i love seeing you smile, i love seeing you enjoy yourself, i want to make you so, so happy, you have no idea–" he trails off as you cup his face in one hand and look at him with furrowed eyebrows yet again.
"do you mean it?" you ask him, your tone still stern. pav wasn't really scared nor happy you were acknowledging his answer, more so on confused. "um... yeah." he admitted, looking into your eyes. "i'd never, ever want to lie to you." he added, to which you sighed.
"good. because i'd hate it if such a sweet, pretty boy wanted to play with my heart." you said in a calmer tone, squeezing his cheeks together.
pav looked at you, blushing, and in disbelief–there, right in front of him, was the love of his life; he knew you were prickly, a little too prickly for some, but he loved all your rough edges just as much as he loved your smoother sides.
there, you smiled in front of him, sincerely–for the first time.
and pav could feel his heart about to leap out of his chest.
boy, did he love you.
"what's it gonna take for me to get you to smile like that all the time?" he asked you teasingly. "a whole lot of patience. and maybe, just, maybe... your annoying ass bothering me with all your love." you teased him back.
he's always up for teasing his favorite cesspool of grumpiness.
Just a Dare | Nathan Prescott x Reader
@trueloveknifefight asked, Also can I request Nathan asking you out?
here u are! i love writing convos w nathan UGH i adore his character.
as always, replies and reblogs are greatly appreciated1 i check all tags and comments <3
wanna support me for just $3? here's my ko-fi!
The lights were bright, vivid. Almost blinding. They dance LED accents into the reflection of your drink- a dull plastic cup filled to the brim with one part whiskey, zero parts mixer. The taste could bring a tear to your eye but you would be damned to water down such fine alcohol, provided by none other than Nathan Prescott himself.
Music reverberated along the pool rooms walls, laughter and hollers distantly rising with the tempos. Your foot absently tapped to the beat- you were never one for dancing. Never one for parties, either, actually, favoring drinking in the solitude of a small friend group.
If not for Nathan you wouldn't be here at all. Some would say it's a privilege to slip past those heavy doors, entering the dully lit world of the Vortex Club. You mostly just felt like it was all for show. Somehow securing a place among Nathan's friend group, and a good friend at that, it was almost duty to show up. He insisted on it.
So, here you were. Leaning against a wall in a suffocatingly warm, cramped pool room surrounded by a sea of faces you hardly recognized.
That was, until you saw Nathan's face peer through the small break in shifting bodies. You knew him all too well.
Strikingly handsome, equally strikingly pompous. Funny, crude, an absent minded party goer just as much as he was a fireball with racing, incoherent thoughts. A drinker, a druggie. Takes the edge off, he says, but you think he does it to take away his thoughts completely. You felt like his entire life was all edges, never sacred ground.
The poor bastard.
He lures your attention in as he saunters over with squared shoulders, narrowly avoiding spilling his drink when a random student cuts it a little too close. Normally Nathan would make a bigger deal, give him what for, but this time he just shoots the poor kid a menacing glare and grumbles, 'fucking watch it'. He's walking with purpose and intent, you can see it on his face. You must have a target on your forehead as he darts straight over.
When he comes to your side, his own alcohol dripping down the sides of his cup onto his wiry fingers, you raise a brow.
"Something wrong?" You ask, as he takes a spot leaning against the hard wall right next to you.
"Just wondering why you're being so fucking lame over here," He shouts over the music, taking a sip of his drink, grimacing at the taste. "We're all having a good time over at the lounge and you're over here acting like all the other wallflower nobodies."
You roll your eyes with upturning lips. "Maybe I like being a wallflower. I like people watching. I see things no one else does."
"Yeah, okay, fucking weirdo."
"I mean it," You push off the wall and grin. "Look-" You point to a student obviously wasted, drink held high over head while he lets the music take him away. "That guy is clearly trashed- he's having the time of his life. He's gotta be seeing double."
Nathan whistles at his state, taking in the guys goofy smile, half lidded eyes. "I'll bet it's the triplets. I could breathe on him too hard and he'd fall over."
"You should go try it." You tease. He shakes his head and takes another drink.
"Nah, he'll get it himself. Guarantee we'll be dragging him out by his feet by the end of the night." He shrugs. "Or, at least someone will. I sure as fuck ain't staying that long."
You snicker. "What, got a hot date?" Nathan glares at you. "Oh don't tell me," you cup your hands to whisper, a secretive gesture, "homework?"
"Fuck no," He scoffs, and you can just barely see that he's a little more than tipsy now. His pale cheeks dusted with red, the tip of his nose ruby under the harsh lighting. It's also then that you realize he's a little more tense than usual, even despite the drinking. He's standing straight upright, his right hand gripping his cup like a crutch and his left now shoved hastily into his pocket.
He hasn't looked at you dead in the eyes yet.
"So what is it then?" You ask curiously. He shrugs and stares into his cup. You frown. "Bro, are you like, good right now? Do you wanna leave?"
For the first time since he'd wandered over, Nathan looks up at you. His eyes are unreadable, but his composure seems stressed. He shrugs again. Before you can even open your mouth to ask him about his state, he sighs and downs an entire mouthful of burning whiskey. It makes you cringe just watching him.
"Fuck it," He huffs. "Look I got some stupid ass dare to come over here and put the moves on you, okay." He sounds almost annoyed, like it's a hassle for him, or maybe embarrassing. You cross your arms. "I was dared to come over here and try to get you like, to fucking, you know, leave with me, but now that I'm over here I'm starting to think maybe that was a dumbass idea."
"Leave with you?" You say incredulously, a brow already lifting. "You were dared to come over here and try to sleep with me? By our friends?"
"No, no, fuck," Nathan seems agitated now, rushing. "Like a date sorta bullshit. Ask you out." He manages to get it out in almost the worst delivery possible, meanwhile you're just trying to pick out who would put him up to this. Hayden? Victoria?
A laugh forces its way out of you. "Aren't we a little too old for that game?"
Nathan shrugs. "That's what I said but they insisted. Fucking babies. At least make the dare a little more fun than just asking some bitch out. That's like elementary level shit."
Your eyes widen, you scoff. "Excuse me?"
Nathan sputters. "You're not some bitch, I didn't mean to-... Fucks sake, I'm clearly a little drunk right now okay, if you could cut me some fucking slack that'd be awesome."
"Hey man I didn't ask to be a victim of bullying," You tease, and he can't help but laugh. You soften. "Never expected it from you, though of all people. As ironic as that sounds."
"I'm not even bullying you, come on. Don't be a bitch. I even admitted it and everything."
You grin. "Yeah. Gotta say though, I'm a little disappointed."
"Oh what, you wanted to see my moves?" Nathan hums. "You wanted some Prescott action?"
"Shut the hell up." You shove his shoulder, an action that would be a mistake to so many others, but for you, it was welcomed. "I'm disappointed that it was just a dare. I'd probably have said yes if it wasn't. But, oh well."
Nathan doesn't answer for a long moment. First, he stares into his drink, processing. Almost like he hadn't heard that right, or like you were messing with him. It's rare to see Nathan Prescott stunned into a momentary silence. He's thinking, wondering what he should say next. Suspicious that you're just playing with him, hopeful that maybe you aren't.
And, you hadn't been. Truth be told if given the chance you would allow him to take you out for the evening. Show you fancy things, try out something a little more intimate than just laughter and poking fun at classmates together. You enjoyed his presence, looked forward to it at times.
A small part of you had hoped that he felt the same, maybe. Somehow. While grateful that he respected you enough to cut the crap before it even began, you couldn't help but feel a little... Disheartened at the prank. You'd saved your pride by denying him beforehand, but, if it had been genuine...
"So if it wasn't a dare," He began, quietly, barely audible over the booming music overhead. Eyes barely visible in the sea of vibrant lights crashing like waves. "You'd have said yes."
You shrug, trying to play it casual to save your own feelings, just in case. "Probably. I mean, we're already friends. We have fun so it couldn't have been that bad." He nods along to almost every word.
"Well what if we did it anyways." He blurts.
"Did what?"
"Go out tonight. Like, you know ditch this lame ass party and have some real fun."
"You love this lame ass party, and plus," You shake your head in feigned annoyance. "I'm not sleeping with you, Nathan."
He glares at you. "Fucking duh. I'm just saying we can go and hang out somewhere else. This party happens all the fucking time so it's not like we're missing anything."
"But, wouldn't that make me the butt of our friends joke?"
He shrugs. "Fuck em. It was a dumb dare anyways."
"Now it seems like you're trying extra hard to convince me to say yes." You state, and he's frazzled, running lines through his brain to try and save the absolute failure of asking you out. You decide to spare him, take a little leap of faith for yourself. "But, alright. I'm in."
Nathan gapes at you. "You're in?"
"Yeah, why not. I'm not busy right now and if you're not either than," You smile. "Why not. You better wow me though, Prescott. I'm talking a night to remember. Fireworks, dinner by candle light, a serenade. The whole package."
Nathan's eyes light up, but he tries to hide it, rolls those beautiful blues. "Well considering I've had like no fucking time to prepare how about we instead go to the roof and chill out."
You toss the idea around in your head for show. You already knew the answer the moment he asked if you were being serious.
"I mean I guess that would work," You say. "I was looking for fireworks but I suppose that will suffice. Feel free to go tell our buddies their joke may have backfired on them."
Nathan shakes his head. "Nah, don't even bother. They're all drunk and probably don't even remember daring me in the first place."
"Alright then," You push yourself off the wall, feeling your cheeks warm. A flutter takes wing in the base of your chest, your heart picking up just a little faster. You can't stop the smile that graces you as you say, "Lead the way, Prescott."
Nathan does lead the way. He takes your hand into his own, your fingers tracing over his boney knuckles as he drags you through the sea of bodies, out to the school hall and up winding stairs.
You giggle like a child when he struggles to find the correct key on the janitors ring he'd snatched weeks ago just in case, tease him when he almost spills his drink all over himself. Nathan's hands are almost shaking, but you chalk it up to the alcohol. You chalk everything up to the alcohol- his trembling fingers, his red face, a shy, albeit goofy smile resting upon his lovely, angular face.
The night was cool and crisp, a stark contrast to the smoldering heat of the Vortex Party.
He looks amazing out under the stars, and underneath the scope of the vast, black sky dotted with trillions of perfect, twinkling lights, you feel at peace.
Looking at him, you feel like this may be the start of something you'd denied yourself the chance of ever even imagining.
Out there, alone but together, hearing the echoes of music mixed with the livelihood of crickets in the darkness...
it truly was a night to remember.
-----------
Days later, you sit atop your desk, feet tapping rhythmically on your chair, typing away at your phone.
"Love the top," A familiar voice pipes, and you glace up to find Victoria standing before you, books pressed to her chest. She takes in your shirt, a nicely fitted long sleeve with a rather low cut v-neck. "Why haven't I see that one before?"
You shrug and set your phone down. "Never got around to wearing it I guess. Not a big fan of V-necks."
"It fits you," She sets her books down at the table beside you and brushes a hand through her hair, making sure every strand is in line. "I'll have to get one myself."
"You know what, you can have it after today," You say, and she perks up in disbelief. "As a thank you for what happened at the party."
That disbelief soon turned to confusion. "...Meaning?"
"Y'know, making Nathan ask me out. He made a whole huge deal about it- said you guys were drinking and playing Truth or Dare of all things. Gotta say, I was a little surprised."
Victoria's brows knit. "We hardly drank at that party, and I wouldn't be caught dead playing Truth or Dare. That game is for kids."
It almost knocks the wind out of you.
They hadn't even been playing in the first place.
As the teacher walks into the room, the first period bell blaring annoyingly over the speakers, you climb off your desk and prepare for the day, hardly able to contain yourself. It hadn't been a dare, after all.
And, you and Nathan's official second date was merely a day away.
Chaotic prompts! "Go step on a lego" sounds like something Julie would say in response to Carrie being catty lol
After weeks and weeks of not being able to get a good comeback in at Carrie, Julie had enough. It wasn't even like she thought of a devastating one in the shower later that day. She'd actually tried bringing that one out the next time Carrie was being mean, and it had spectacularly backfired.
She'd finally snapped one day when Alex had been haunting her at school. Well, he'd really only been by to ask if he could borrow her Britney Spears CD, since Willie said he had to listen to it. But he'd hung out for lunch period with her and Flynn, which was nice of him.
Except then Carrie had come by to antagonise them, and it was even worse being an uncool, unwitty loser in front of Alex (Flynn was used to it), so finally she just snapped 'oh, go step on a lego, Carrie' and had stormed off. And then stormed back to grab her lunch tray and put it in the right spot because she wasn't a jerk.
She didn't notice the thoughtful look on Alex' face.
What she did notice was Carrie leaving her alone for well over a week, looking more and more nervous around her. It was kind of weird, so she brought it up to Flynn, who shrugged. They were still discussing it when they got back to the studio, where the boys were spread out over the furniture. Reggie dramatically rolled off the sofa so Flynn wouldn't sit on him, crashing to the floor and giving a little thumbs up over the coffee table. "I'm okay!"
"What'cha talking about?" Alex said, bouncing on his toes, his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his denim jacket.
"Oh, just that Carrie has been acting really weird, lately."
"Weirder than normal," Flynn agreed. She was used to filling in the gaps of their conversations now. "She was looking at Julie like she was some kind of witch or something."
From the floor, Reggie snickered. Luke shot him a warning glance and Alex whispered 'dude' reproachfully. Julie frowned.
"Anyway, how about we get to rehearsing?" Luke said quickly. Except he didn't sound excited, he sounded nervous.
"What did you guys do?" she asked, giving them all their best glare.
"Uuuuum," came the response, and she crossed her arms and did her best impression of her aunt.
Alex was the one who broke first. Probably because Reggie was still half under the coffee table and couldn't actually see her.
"Okay so, remember when you told Carrie to step on a lego?" he asked. Julie frowned. "We've kind of been hiding legos in her shoes... and in strategic places in her house."
"Like right in front of her bed," Reggie snickered. A hand with one finger pointed quickly rose above the table. "Not while she was in her bed or anything! That would be creepy. We were classy about it!"
Flynn watched Julie whip her glare around the room some, before bursting. "Okay, what? What did they do?"
"They've been hiding legos in Carrie's shoes and stuff ever since I told her to go step on one," Julie explained. Again, there was a snicker from the floor, and Alex and Luke were both biting back grins as well.
"Oh my god that's brilliant!" Flynn shouted.
And honestly, Julie couldn't find it in herself to stay mad. It was pretty funny. "Okay, but you guys have to stop," she said through her giggles. "Carrie's mean, but she doesn't deserve a breakdown or anything."
"Fine," Alex pouted. "But if she insults you again, tell her to go kiss a frog or something. Reggie loves trying to catch them."
And that just sent a new wave of snickers from the floor, and Julie couldn't help but giggle while she filled Flynn in on the guys' suggestion.
reincarnated lovers (3)
armin arlert x f! reader
summary: reader and armin decide to give the start of their relationship a second chance.
word count: 3.7k
content warnings: content warning: mentions of drug use, vaginal and oral sex (F & M receiving), a slight insinuation of overstimulation, fingering, praise, & creampie
“Wow, you have a nice apartment.” Armin opens the door for you, and you gaze at his spacious apartment in awe.
“No need to flatter me.” He slightly chuckles, placing his keys on the small table against the wall.
“Trust me, I would never.” You tease as he grabs your hand and leads you to his kitchen.
You immediately take notice of how modern and simplistic his home is. The color palette throughout his apartment is cool tones, mostly consisting of white and gray. It somewhat makes you feel like you're in a museum rather than someone’s house. He doesn't have any pictures of family or friends on his wall, not even a frame of him and Eren.
“How do you feel about pancakes?” He crouches down to the bottom cabinet and pulls out a baby blue griddle.
“That actually sounds amazing right now.” You place your stomach in your hand, realizing how queasy you feel with only alcohol in your stomach.
“Could you get the pancake mix from the pantry, please?” He smiles at you while grabbing the oil from the upper shelf and placing it on the counter.
You open the door and instantly spot a never-ending pile of ramen neatly stacked on the floor. Adorable. Your eyes shift to the box of pancake mix on the middle shelf that's surrounded by other dessert mixes and grab it. You walk over to Armin, who already took out the ingredients with a bowl, measuring cups, and a spoon that's nicely arranged next to the griddle.
“I’m letting you know right now, I am not a gourmet chef so you cannot complain about the results,” He playfully warns you as he opens up the pancake mix.
“Armin, we’re making box pancakes. Not even from scratch.” You laugh, pulling out the plastic bag from the box, and cutting it open.
“You don’t have to make me feel bad about it.” He fakes a pout as he starts to pour the oil into the measuring cup.
You try to give him a serious look, but immediately break out into a smile when he makes eye contact with you. He hands you the ingredients while you incorporate everything into the bowl, enjoying the presence of one another.
As you pour the batter on the griddle, Armin starts asking you random questions from your dream job as a kid to your biggest fears in life. While it was somewhat arbitrary, you thought how cute he looked while he listened to absolutely every single word that came from your lips. Occasionally, while you're busy flipping pancakes and answering his questions, he gets a quick glimpse at your slightly parted lips, but you never seem to notice.
"You're a really interesting person, you know." He leans back against the counter, watching you place your dinner onto the plates.
"I doubt that very much." You argue while taking the plates to his dinner table.
"Well, I think otherwise, and you still haven't thanked me for making dinner for our date." He rolls his eyes but quickly breaks character, seeing the confused look on your face.
"Huh, so it wasn't you that was just sitting on your ass and questioning me as if I was at a job interview?" You joke with him, taking the seat that's across from him.
"I have no recollection of such." He smirks as he walks over to the refrigerator and grabs two water bottles.
"Thank you." You takes the water bottle out of his hand, taking notice of how pretty his hands looked around your beverage.
He smiles and sits down, eyeing what he thought to be the best-looking pancakes he's ever seen.
"Well, enough about me, I want to get to know you now." You make eye contact, holding it a bit longer than needed before looking down and cutting up your meal, not wanting to make yourself look weird.
"Ask away." He opens his water and takes a quick sip.
"How were you like as a kid?" You begin eating your pancakes, waiting for Armin to answer.
"I was and still am a quiet kid. I've always minded my own business, so I didn't have many friends growing up. I only had Eren and Mikasa and we only met because they defended me when they saw some older kids messing with me." You look up at him, only to be met with a neutral face.
"I'm sorry about that, Armin." You break eye contact, worried that you may have just ruined his night by making him reminiscent.
"Don't apologize, I stopped thinking about those assholes a long time ago." He gives you a reassuring smile as he continues to eat his food.
"I'm happy to hear that." You take a swig from your water bottle, thinking of the next question to ask him. "What's your favorite memory? Whether it be from last week or years ago." You lighten the mood, immediately noticing Armin break out into a huge grin.
"There was this one time during senior year in high school with Eren and Mikasa and we smoked weed but for Eren, it was his first time. So, I guess to like 'impress'," He starts giggling as he does air quotes, "me and Mikasa, he decided to take a long ass hit and it completely backfired on him. When he first breathed out, he started coughing but tried holding it back, but he just started hacking nonstop, and every time he tried drinking water, he would just spit it back up." He throws his head back, cracking up while finishing his story.
"So, you enjoy watching other people suffer?" You smile, not aware of how contagious his laugh is.
"Yeah, I guess." He keeps laughing as his eyes start to tear up.
"It just makes it so much funnier than I was already somewhat high, and everything just gets a billion times more amusing than what it really is." He chuckles before looking back into your eyes, taking in the beauty that'sin front of him.
"Damn, I wish I was there to see it." You snicker, thinking about how Eren embarrassed himself even though you feel a bit guilty thinking it was funny in the first place.
"Well, we frequently have sessions so you should definitely join us if you'd like." He finishes up his dinner and takes his plate to the sink.
"I'll think about it." You quickly eat the last of your pancakes and feel your phone vibrate in your pocket.
"Is everything alright?" Armin looks at you concerned, noticing your eyes widening at your screen.
"Huh? Oh yes, uh it was just Sasha." You put your phone back in your pocket, not wanting to give Armin any ideas.
Your heartbeat quicken as you face Armin, Sasha's message ingrained in your head. You doubt anything would happen tonight, it's barely your second date, but it was something to think about. As soon as your mind starts wandering into more inappropriate thoughts, you're interrupted by Armin's voice.
"Do you need me to take you back to your dorm?" He starts making his way to the door, not letting you respond.
"No, I can stay." You clear your throat; he stops in his tracks, having a bit of excitement by your answer.
"Oh okay, well is there anything you want to do?"
He stares into your eyes, feeling the tiny spark that wants to ignite. You feel your face start to heat up, trying to muster up anything to continue your night with Armin.
"Can I ask you one more question?"
"Of course." He feels his chest tighten, the electricity between you grow stronger as the silence stretches out.
What the hell do you want to ask him? You have little to no idea what you wanted to face him with. While you have to admit, everything about him at this very moment is so fucking perfect and you don't mind trying something, you wouldn't dare pressure him into anything. You continue bouncing with thoughts and kept convincing yourself that a little persuasion wouldn't hurt him and besides, it would be a shame if nothing fun went down.
"Is it okay if I kiss you?" You stay in your seat, worried that you may have broken a boundary that Armin had no intention of crossing. Your chest gets knotted up as you feel embarrassment rush over your body, regret started to quickly sink in.
His eyes widen and feels his heartbeat in his throat, indulging at the thought of doing so much more than just a kiss. He starts walking towards you, not aware that he didn't answer your question, rather just pulls you out of your seat and snakes his arms around your waist.
"Is uh- this okay?" His face turns into a bright pink, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.
"Yes." You wrap your arms around his neck, not wasting a second longer.
You meet your lips with him, a soft whimper comes from his throat as you pull him closer. Your lips move in sync as if you had already done this a million times before. You bring one of your hands to his hair, slightly gripping it to try and get another noise out of him. You feel him pour all of his desire for you into that one kiss.
"Fuck." He mumbles under his breath, moving his hands to your ass, slightly squeezing it. Before you can take it any further, he pulls away from your kiss, grabs your hand, and takes you to his bedroom.
"Are you fine with this?" He has a concerned look on his face, making sure what he felt was a mutual feeling.
"Mhm." You nod your head, and he collides his lips with yours, drawing you in for a more heated kiss.
You part your lips, allowing his tongue to slip through, and you feel your body thrill with electricity. Everything just feels so natural between the two of you, there's no second-guessing or hesitation; it all felt right.
You both slowly started making your way to his bed, not breaking away your kiss as he lowered you onto it when the back of your knees is met with the edge. His hands traveled lower and made their way under your shirt and his cold fingertips are met with your warm soft stomach while pulling your shirt over your head. You slightly gasped when he came into contact with your skin, but this doesn't stop him from going any further. He took his lips to your neck, softly sucking and biting along your collarbone, letting his hot tongue glide over each spot he marked.
"Shit-" You choke and slightly arch your back, thinking to yourself how you've never felt this kind of delectation from someone before.
You grab his chin and pull him back to your lips and push his wrist down to your clothed core. He lightly presses against you, causing a jolt in your thighs while you moaned into his mouth. You feel a slight grin form on his face as he continues to tease you and felt you grind against his middle finger.
"You sound so pretty," He whispers into your ear.
You feel the arousal pooling low in your stomach, feeling him slowly dip under your panties and started massaging circles on your clit. You felt your legs start to slightly tremble and your back arched even more than before as the heat from his body filled you with a wave of delight.
"Armin." You grip your hands against his shoulder, becoming desperate for things to start escalating.
"Say my name again," He commands as he lifts his head and stares into your eyes, full of lust and desire.
"Armin, give me more, please," You whine, feeling your walls fluttered around nothing.
"Anything for you." He makes his way down your body, leaving a trail of peppered kisses from your neck to your pelvis.
He pulls off your panties, leaving you in only your bra, admiring what was inches away from his face. You could almost feel his gaze travel all over your body. You look down and make eye contact with him, watching him lower his face into you. You grasp the bedsheet and your eyes rolled back as his tongue lightly flicks against your clit. You buck your hips against him, growing incredibly impatient and he knows it.
"C'mon, please," You whimper, moving your hands to his head, and clutching his golden hair.
He grips the sides of your thighs and begins devouring you, his tongue becoming completely coated with your slick arousal. You feel his nose bump against your clit and causes your vision to swim while tugging on his locks from the bliss Armin created. You suddenly feel one of his fingers slip into you effortlessly, causing your mind to go blank while he curls it to hit the perfect spot.
"More," You cry out, grinding on his face as you felt your orgasm start to build up.
Without any hesitation, he slips another finger into you, widening your legs even more, making you start to see stars. It all starts to become too much for you, the stimulation starts to overload all over your drenched center. His tongue vigorously presses against your clit and fingers hitting your sweet spot, making everything feel so delirious.
"Sh-shit, Armin I'm close." You dig your nails into his scalp, throwing your head back, trying to hold off as long as possible to make it last a little longer.
"Let me hear you." He pull away for a second before enveloping himself back into you, making sure you feel nothing but pleasure.
That's all it takes to put you over the edge, and you reach your climax while moaning out his name. Your body becomes filled with a riptide of euphoria as you lose yourself in all the sensations. You can't believe the way he makes you feel; every little thing he does to you makes you feel so weak and submissive to him. Your legs are trembling, and he doesn't waste any time and begins to start kissing your inner thighs while gently rubbing your clit to help soothe you from your high.
"God, you're so beautiful," He breaths out while making his way back up your body and to your chest while unclipping your undergarment with a single hand.
"Y-You make me feel so fucking good." Your hands moves across his shoulder blades as he starts kissing your breasts, using his index finger and thumb to stimulate your nipples.
His other hand travels over your curves, feeling as if he needs to memorize every single feature of your body. You feel ecstasy relish over you, breathing heavily as Armin's lust for you takes over his mind. You can't ask for more than this right now, having someone do everything they could to make you feel nothing but absolute pleasure and you want to return the favor.
You slide up from under him, sitting up against the pillow, and flip him to the bottom.
"Wha-" You cut him off with a rough kiss, moving your hands to the bottom of his long sleeve, tugging at it.
You pull away and allow him to take off his shirt, admiring his pale, milky body. You can't believe the sight in front of you, he looks so fucking beautiful. You meet with his eyes and notice embarrassment rush over his face. You lean down and give him a gentle but passionate kiss.
"You're so handsome," You whisper his ear before you nibble on his earlobe, causing his thighs to slightly jolt.
You begin kissing down to his jawline, somewhat pressing your tongue against it while your hand softly traces his abs. You feel his stomach muscles contract under touch while his arms loosely wrap around your waist, delicately sliding his palms across your back. It doesn't take long for you to make your way down his body while you make sure to leave a hickey or two on his chest before meeting his bulge.
"You d-don't have to." He starts sitting up, but you place your hand on his chest to stop him.
"Let me make you feel good." You plead, pulling off his pants and boxers to reveal his hard cock that was seeping of pre-cum, just for you.
You run your hands on his thighs before bringing one up to the base of his dick. You look back at Armin, who seemingly has his head back while his face is flushed into a soft red. You glob spit on his dick before pumping your hand slowly, making sure that he feels every little sensation you're making. He lets out a shaky exhale, trying his hardest not to release with only a single touch.
You smirk to yourself feeling him pulse in your palm before moving it back down to the base and swiping your tongue on his tip.
"O-Oh." He moans out, moving one of his hands to your head.
You start humming very quietly, bobbing your head up and down with the slight pressure of Armin's palm. He groans, feeling his face heat up with everything you're doing to him.
As seconds passed, Armin's pressure on the back of your head only becomes more forceful, making you gag a bit and cause tears to form as he starts throat fucking you. It doesn't take long to begin to feel him twitch in the back of your throat, but before he could release himself, you pull away, looking up and seeing a shocked look on his face.
"I'm sorry, did I take too far?" He starts sliding up against his headboard, thinking he made you uncomfortable.
"No! Not at all... I just want to do something more." You hesitate with your words.
All you want at this very moment is to make sure Armin felt nothing but pleasure from you. Your heart starts thumping sporadically, loving the idea of riding him till he couldn't take it anymore.
"Y-Yeah, of course," He stutters as he quickly pulls out a condom from the drawer in his nightstand.
You think to yourself how cute he lookes getting flustered and excited with the thought of you topping him. You watch him slightly stumble while taking the condom out of its packaging before rolling it on himself. He looks back at you, a smirk on his face as he grasps your waist and pulls you onto his dick.
You align yourself with him before lowering yourself, watching his head fall back. His eyes become filled with desire as you bite your lip from his cock stretching you out.
"Shit.." He groans as you take all of him in, feeling your walls become adjusted to his cock.
You don't move for a second, savoring how it feels with him inside of you; feeling connected with one another. But once you begin to move, it's impossible to stop.
You start off slow and sensual, feeling him hit your cervix that caused a delightful pain in you. You bend down to his face leaving kisses all over across his jaw as you slowly move against him. You don't want this to end, everything feels so right.
"You feel amazing." He drags out his words, sliding his hands up and down the sides of your body.
You pick your head back up, speeding up from his praise.
"I hope I make you feel so fucking good," You cry out, feeling him start to hit all the right spots that you didn't even know were there.
Before your legs could start to burn, you feel his hands form a good grip on you before he starts thrusting forward, at this point making himself fuck you instead.
"A-Armin!' You yelp, feeling overloaded from the overwhelming pressure that begins to build up inside you.
He starts controlling the rhythm, taking all the power you thought you had over him. You grip his shoulders, leaving crescent-shaped markings from his strokes becoming harder and deeper.
He admires the way your tits bounce every time he thrusts into you, wanting to see it happen over and over again. He loves seeing your head falls back as your eyes roll to the back of your head, starting to lose control of yourself from everything he's doing to you. He worships the idea that he's the one making you feel this good.
"I'm about to.." You close your eyes, letting yourself surrender and submerge into the wave of pleasure.
"Fuck, me too." His eyes darken, picking up the pace as your grip on him began to loosen.
You feel your stomach swoop from his words.
"C-Can I cum inside you? He groans, feeling himself twitch in you, worried that he might release himself too soon.
"Please." You unravel yourself onto him, your walls flutter against him and your arousal drips out of you.
"Armin!" You cry out his name one last time, the sensation becoming too much that it was almost painful.
The feeling of bliss and ecstasy take over as you feel his cum gush into you while moaning out your name. You ride him out a little longer, helping him come back down from his high before lying next to him.
You both exchange lazy kisses with one another, savoring each other's warmth for as long as possible.
"Thank you for an amazing second first date." You smile, resting your head against his chest while he softly caresses your jaw.
"You deserve nothing but the best." He kisses your forehead before pulling you closer to him.
At this moment, you fee nothing but happiness; you know from then on that Armin is the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with. You just can't believe that it took you nineteen years to find your soulmate, but luckily, you'll be spending the rest of your lives together in pure bliss.
a/n: armin does ask reader permission to cum inside her even though he has a condom on because he wanted to make sure she was completely comfortable with it :)
Scott McCall Appreciation Week - Day 1
“Do you feel weird?”
It’s Stiles’ voice that cuts through the relatively quiet night, soft but not thick with sleep.
They’re both sprawled on Scott’s bed, in worn pajamas, resting on top of the covers. It’s been a long time since they’ve actually had a sleepover, sharing a bed and all, but the events of the past few nights demanded it. After Stiles was sure his father was safe, and Scott double-checked and triple-checked his mother was alright, they piled onto Scott’s bed and knocked out.
Or, Scott had knocked out, the tension in his shoulders finally snapping in the aftermath of the Alpha pack and the Darach. He doesn't dream, or if he does, he doesn't remember, letting the darkness ease away the stress.
It works, until Stiles hisses his name in the dark.
Scott grunts, hoping Stiles will take the hint, but instead he slides his hand across the comforter, fingers pressing into Scott’s side, pinching his elbow and forearm until Scott bats them away. “Hey, wake up.”
“Stiles…” Scott groans, catching Stiles’ roaming hand and rolling over to crush it with his body, keeping it still even though he feels Stiles trying to wiggle his fingers away.
“What? You didn’t answer my question.”
"What question?" Scott doesn't open his eyes, but feels Stiles turn to face him, hand still squirming against his side.
"Do you feel weird? Now?" Stiles adds, and even sleep-addled, there's only one thing he could be talking about.
Scott lets the night wash over them, the silence cut by the distant sounds of barking dogs and a car backfiring. Isaac shifts in the guest room, falling still after a beat. Everything's normal again, or as normal as his life could be now. The question feels loaded, and he can’t help but feel like he’s going to answer wrong, no matter what he says. He lets it sit in his mouth for a second, weighty. “Weird how?”
“Weird like… alpha-ey? Consumed with the need to wear douchey leather jackets and bite every teenager you see?” He feels Stiles sit up suddenly, jerking his hand away too forcefully and overbalancing in the process.
Scott reaches out to steady him, snorting at the absurdity. “No?”
“Good.” Stiles pats his face, lying back down. There’s a taste in the air though, a feeling that’s almost thick enough to cut, a nervousness. Apprehension.
The thought ‘Is Stiles scared of me?’ crosses Scott’s mind for a second, but it’s ludicrous. Right?
Scott rolls over to face Stiles this time, tapping his arm until he grunts in acknowledgement. “You know this doesn’t change anything, right? I’m still me.”
“I know, Scotty… But you’re the alpha now.” Stiles makes a low noise at the back of his throat, sarcasm tinged with that taste that he can’t help but grimace at.
“I’m an alpha, not the alpha,” Scott points out, sighing when Stiles snorts. “It’s not gonna change anything. We’re gonna be fine.”
“Yeah, but…” There’s a rustle out in the hall, and Scott’s door creaks open. Stiles starts, but Scott squeezes his arm, relaxing as Isaac slips into the room. When he moved, Scott couldn't guess -- he's surprisingly light on his feet, even with all the creaky floorboards out in the hall.
“You guys talk too loud,” Isaac whispers, but shambles over to the bed, dropping unceremoniously across them both, knocking the air out of Scott and making Stiles squeak in outrage.
They struggle to untangle themselves, Isaac and Scott shushing Stiles periodically as his squeaks become louder and more offended, until Scott finds himself squished between them. Stiles on his right, Isaac on his left.
“Nothing’s gonna change, huh?” Stiles asks dryly, the taste of apprehension fading away as they settle down. Isaac’s breathing evens out soon after, relaxing like he had been there all along.
Scott shrugs, but the warmth is nice, and the touch is reassuring, chasing away the memories of darachs and darkness and fireflies. “Maybe a little change is good.”
My milk chocolate selection is Alex Go:❤💓💖🎁👀☔
EMOJI CHARACTER ASKS - ALEX GO
🖤— Random romantic headcanon
🖤Alex is a competitive person as a result of actively practicing soccer, boxing, and street-fighting. 💥 If something involves winning or losing, you can be sure that Alex WILL fight to win. It doesn't matter who it's against, he'll make the goal against Ben, win the race against Gerard, and outlast Teddy in stamina training. 🏆
🖤The one person he doesn't get competitive with is 🌻you.🌻
🖤As if this wasn't enough, sometimes he'll even go out of his way to lose on purpose-- just to see a smile on your face. 😇
🖤Once while you were having a bad day, Alex offered to race you back to the classroom: whoever lost would buy the winner a box of Ttoski chicken. After sprinting ahead of you, he feigned a cramp in his leg and gave a very ecstatic (and hungry) you an ample head start. Unfortunately for him once you were out of sight, the weird position he twisted himself into ended up giving him a real cramp.
🖤He was late for class that day.
💓— What could their partner do to make their heart race?
💓Alex is very attuned to his body 😳 He's been very into sports and fighting his entire life, meaning roughhousing and taking hits is not new to him— being friends with Ben basically seals the deal! Hamburger pile anyone?!
💓This also means Alex is getting physically attacked pretty much every day. So how can you woo a man like this? Simple, use what he isn't accustomed to: a soft touch 😏
💓His overexposure to constant brute strength will 100% backfire on him when you’re ghosting your fingers softly along his arm, tracing patterns into his large palms, or pushing away a piece of his hair.
💓He'll freeze up. What is he supposed to do? Uppercut? Crouch and defend? The Cobra Strangle? But what if he doesn’t want to do any of those?? Promptly after you caress him with feather-light touches, his brain will fry and his face will overheat-- you bet your ass his heart will be thundering too. If you start whispering in his ear he might just end up turning bright red! 🥵🥵
💖— Are they a showy partner? Do they make grand gestures of love or try to be subtle?
💖Alex tries to be subtle 😌 he really does 😌 but he's so bad at it.
💖He doesn't want his S/O to feel awkward after he does something affectionate, so he'll try to brush it off as a coincidence "what? i didn't have spare change so i just got two drinks instead of one. don't worry about it." After a while, both you and Alex will notice Ben sulking after all the spare drinks go to you instead of him. Alas, Ben is the only bonehead who believes Alex when he calls it a "coincidence."
💖Alex begins to buy drinks in sets of three now so Ben can have one too. This immediately cheers Ben up and also basically makes Alex immediately broke. 😭 The things we do for love!
🎁— What kind of gifts do they like to give? What do they like receiving?
🎁Alex loves gifting things weird trinkets and strange memorabilia. Is there a practical use for any of it? Probably not. Does he include an sweet handwritten message detailing how it reminded him of you with every gift? Absolutely.
🎁Anything odd you can think of, he's given you before. A bear with a built-in voice recording of Alex going "uhhhhhmmmm."? 🐻 ("this is how you make me feel, speechless!") Yes. An umbrella that catches rain water and stores it into a squirt-gun handle? ☂️ ("remember when i accidentally spat water into your eyes after Ben told a joke?") Christ, yes. A duck pen that came with shoddy batteries and sounds like Satan ripping a nasty fart? 💨 ("what? you really do sound like that when you sleep, though! WAIT, don't hit me!") Ugh, yep, that too.
🎁 Alex loves getting gifts from you, but he's extremely shy when receiving anything. He'll adamantly refuse it, cheeks flushed and arms crossed, shaking his head, "no! really, i told you that i don't need anything!" until you coax his hands from his body and place the gift into his palms.
🎁You get him basically the same thing each time, but he still acts like it's the biggest surprise ever. "dude! it's a brand new soccer ball! ben check this out, it's the new model from Nikey! score, we actually just lost ours, thanks!" Yes, you know they lose their ball. It's pretty obvious when the both of them sit in the classroom twiddling their thumbs after "practice night" (hint: kicking the ball as hard as they can for about two hours before it gets lodged in a tree or stuck in a roof.) 🧍🧍
👀— What’s their favorite body part on themselves? On their partner?
👀Everyone knows that Alex Go is the fastest motherfucker in all of Yeungdengpo, so of course his favorite body part are his ✨buff ass calves✨
👀When it comes to anything requiring being quick and light on his feet, Alex can do it. Sprinting long distance? No problem. Bobbing and weaving in a fight? Of course! Weirdly superhuman jumps to reach that one perfect pink cherry blossom for you in the tree outside the school? Indubitably, my good sir. 🧐
👀Of course, after all that running and jumping about, Alex will be incredibly sore the next day. He denies it, but the truth is evident when he can't even walk to the dining hall the next day. Naturally, his favorite part of your body are the hands that help him rub all that terrible muscle ache out.
☔️— What are they like when they’re emotional? How quickly do they recover?
☔️Alex doesn't get upset often, but he doesn't exactly have tough skin either. When people make snide remarks about him not being as strong as Ben or Gerard, he will get upset but won't make it obvious until later on.
☔️Usually you notice he's upset after he's clammed up for a few days, or just outright vanishes. Alex likes to lick his wounds on his own to prevent troubling anyone else, but his disappearance will be alarming to you if you're not used to his habit of withdrawing. He will return a while later claiming it was the stomach flu, but seriously, what kind of stomach flu comes and goes so frequently? 💩
☔️He isn't used to it, but Alex will be open to talking about how he feels only after he's had alone time. 😓😓 Alex is a very reflective person and tries to improve upon himself so he feels like less of a burden to the group, but obviously this isn't good for his self esteem.
☔️With reassurance and work from both of you as well as the Eungang-gang, Alex will be more comfortable with expressing his feelings with friends instead of brooding in private. 😊
Hell's Studio fic idea: A pipe bursts and Sammy becomes a toon Imp like Snowflake and Bendy, and Joey doesn't know how to reverse it ASAP, so Sammy is stuck as a toon Imp and Sammy decides to hangout with Snowflake until Joey can reverse the ink's magic (Bonus points if: Sammy gets a uncontrollable stutter as a toon Imp, Susie cooing her small boyfriend, and Sammy drawing with snowflake)
I am So sorry that this took so freaking long, but here you go!
Wally slapped his forehead in exasperation as he heard the pipe bursting from the music department's break room. Then proceeded to go in there, with Snowflake following close behind just in case he needed someone small to check in any holes in the wall that the pipe made in the process.
The sight was familiar, but unwelcome to the pair; a pile of thick ink sliding down onto the floor through the broken pipe peeking through the ceiling. Snowflake was only thankful that it had spilled to the floor instead of the pool table.
“I’m startin' ta think dat eitheah we should completely tear down da music department to put in a betteah pipe system, or just stop fixin' the dang things so dat they at least stop surprisin' us."
The Janitor grumbled as he started mopping up the mess.
"A-at least nobody got caught in it this time."
As soon as Snowflake said that, something under the pile began to move.
“Mmmmh?"
"Yikes, spoke too soon, kiddo."
Wally stated calmly as he started to scrape the excess ink off of what looked exactly like Bendy, except the imp's tie lacked the fun patterns Bendy often wore, and more importantly, he was missing his mouth. So the obvious conclusion the pair made was: The ink ruined his tie by dying it black and also stole his mouth.
"M-mr. Bendy?! are you okay?!"
The formerly buried imp looked at the other one with a perplexed expression before mouthing something, realized that he wasn't saying anything, patting his face where his mouth should've been, and looking like he was about to panic.
"MMMMmmPPHH?! MMMH!! MMPHH!!!"
"Looks like the ink erased your pie hole, boss."
The imp rolled his eyes at stared at Wally in a very sarcastic manner before leaving the room, most likely to visit Joey about this issue.
"...Do you think he's not going to want to do that drawing lesson later?"
"What, Bendy? not want ta draw with ya overah somethin' like this? Nah. It's nothin' fun to wake up to, but I don't think it'll eat at him like it will if it happened ta Sammy."
----------------------
"MmMMmMMM?!?! MMPHH!! MMMPPHHH!?"
Sammy hopped up and down while wildly gesturing to the blank white space on his face where his mouth was supposed to be while Joey flipped through heavily ink-stained spell books. Meanwhile, the real Bendy was still gawking at his doppelganger, still not quite sure whether he should feel flattered or offended that the ink pulled this on Sammy. But also not saying anything because he couldn't find any jokes to lighten the mood with.
It would be one thing if the ink also gave Sammy Bendy's trademark smile (that could make other expressions too). If it did that, Bendy would be making so many mirror and twin related jokes. But it didn't.
"It's going to be fine." Joey repeated almost more to himself than to the hopping mad imp. "Just because an ink flood took out some of my reversal spells, doesn't mean that you're going to be stuck like this forever. Best case scenario, it'll take a few hours for me to find the right one, worst case scenario I'm going to need to order a new book, and that might take a while."
"MMm MmhP?"
"I don't know how long! Some of these are the rarest on the market! Goodness knows how long it'll take to replace if it's ruined and has the correct cure in it..."
The music director let out a heavily muffled, frustrated sigh.
"Yes, I'm annoyed too." Joey sighed as well. "But at least it's not going to be forever."
'Easy for you to say.' Sammy thought to himself as trying and failing to talk was starting to hurt his jaw. 'You're not the one dealing with this! how am I supposed to do my job when I can't speak to anyone?!'
He must've been gesturing as he thought this as Joey snapped his fingers in realization and handed Sammy a notebook and a pencil.
"I know it won't help with the more vocal aspects of your job, but it's better than not having any way to communicate. And much easier than trying to learn sign language in less than a day and with only four digits on each hand."
He tried to write down 'Thanks Joey' but his hands refused to obey him. Confusingly, he instead drew a thumbs up.
"Why thank you! Glad to see that you're taking this better than expected Sammy. I'd better get to work on looking for that spell..."
As Joey left the room, Sammy frowned at the notebook, trying to figure out why he did that. Bendy also peeked at the drawing and felt something click.
"So..." the copied imp awkwardly tugged at his tie as he avoided making eye contact with Sammy. "Just outta curiosity sake, does Snowflake know about this? At least, the fact that it's well, you instead of me?"
Sammy gave Bendy a funny look but nodded anyway.
"Okay, follow up question: ...Is now a bad time to tell you that before you burst in here trying to tell us to fix this that Joey and I were arguing over whether I should go to this meeting with GENT or to give drawing lessons to Snowflake like I promised to, and literally right before you came in I said: 'Well dang it Joey if I could be in two places at once, I would!'?"
Sammy frowned as he saw the guilty yet pleading look in Bendy's eyes, calmly took the newspaper off of Joey's desk, rolled it up and smacked Bendy right upside the head.
"Hey! What gives?!" He sputtered as he rubbed the back of his head.
The Mute music director drew a series of pictures: Bendy putting something in the ink, the ink rising up and flashing him the 'ok' hand sign, Bendy giving it a thumbs up in return and leaving on his merry way, a shift in perspective revealing Sammy as a human having seen the interaction but shrugging it off, Sammy (still human) playing pool with Jack, Grant, and Johnny, the four of them having a good time, the ceiling above them creaking and rumbling ominously, making the four opt to leave, Sammy coming back into the pool room slightly later and keeping an eye on the ceiling, Sammy taking what he came back into the room for, the ceiling above him suddenly bursting and covering him with ink, and the last picture; a bunch of puzzle pieces being fit together, with the picture on the pieces being a lit light bulb.
After showing Bendy his work, he crossed his arms and tapped his foot on the ground.
"What?! You can't seriously blame me for- Okay, yes. I did kinda make a request... but I figured I'D be the one getting drenched! Not you!"
Sammy raised a single eyebrow as Bendy let out a frustrated sigh.
"Look, if I knew that this was what would happen, I wouldn't have done it! But now that it's happened ...would ya help me out with this?"
Sammy's next drawing was his current form with an intentionally bad scribble of Bendy's mouth on the space where he was supposed to have a mouth to indicate it was (poorly) drawn on, and he was trying and failing to do Bendy's job for him as he couldn't speak.
"Of course I'm not going to shirk my responsibilities to make you pretending to be me look like an idiot in front of those big wigs at GENT. I mean, goodness, if this thing flops, who knows what'll happen."
The Musician then showed Bendy a drawing that was so horrible and cold that he wouldn't even dare grace it with a description.
"WHAT KINDA DEMON DO YOU THINK I AM, LAWRENCE?!" Bendy quieted down and pinched the bridge of his nose. "I get it, Damned if I do the thing, damned if I don't do the other thing. I can't let down Snowflake, but if I'm not at that meeting, the studio's relationship with GENT could get bruised! This is why I tried this stunt in the first place!"
He sighed as Sammy just continued to tap his foot in annoyance. "Tell you what, help me and I'll give you anything you ask for! A raise, me not pranking you for a month, more paid vacation days, magic-repelling acetone, name it and it's yours!*"
*Within reason. I'm a demon not a miracle worker!
Sammy showed Bendy an intentionally shaky 'Ok' sign, the closest thing he could think of to a picture version of a hesitant and unwilling 'fine, I'll do it...'
"Oh Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Bendy practically crushed his doppelganger in a spine-breaking hug. "I really owe you this one Sammy!"
'I hope you realize how goddamned lucky you are that I like that kid.' Sammy thought to himself as he patted his double on the back. 'Otherwise I'd hang you out to dry for doing this...'
------------------------
The music director had no interest in deceiving Snowflake; even if he wanted to follow Bendy's plan to the spirit of his deal, he knew too well that the studio and it's ink would always drag any secret up to the surface. So it would just be easier to come clean at the start before lies had the chance to spiral into something that could completely break the poor kid.
"Hi Mr. Bendy! Are you ready for our lesson?"
Sammy nodded, but gestured for his pupil to wait a second before he flipped through the pages of his sketchbook and showed him a series of pictures: some showing the origin of his new condition, and the others showing his deal with Bendy.
"Oh." The child imp seemed sad, and slightly disappointed, but also not surprised. "So Bendy couldn't make it today either..."
The older imp sympathetically patted Snowflake on the back and tried his best to draw out an explanation, but it's kind of hard to put 'He really did want to make it, in fact, he wanted to so much that he was willing to split himself in half for it! But as you can see, it kinda backfired...' into picture format, luckily he got the message across fairly well.
"I-it's okay, I understand. Thanks for filling in for him Mr. Lawrence!"
Snowflake pulled out his own notebook and pencils.
"Do you think you can show me how to do hands that well?"
Sammy eagerly nodded and flipped his book to a blank page.
|| Bakugo x Reader ||
Prompt: One sided crush
Bakugo was never your ideal guy. You hate how noisy and loud he is. You hate how mean he is. You hate how stubborn he is. You hate how he's sooo.... fucking attractive.
Todoroki was more of your type. The quiet cool guy. Very smart. Very handsome. Very mysterious.... and yet you find yourself getting attracted to Bakugo. It wasn't supposed to be that way... but seeing his determination during training. His passion of being a hero. How hard-working he was in studies... You couldn't help but get more and more enticed about him. Its honestly getting annoying.
And, as time passes by, you found yourself staring at him in class. Smiling whenever he gets teased by his friends. Watching him train. You were starting to get so creeped out by yourself, and its weird. So so weird. Like, why the hell would I like him?
After some time and thinking, some kind of weird determination pushed you to confess to him- which utterly astonished him when you did.
"What the fuck? Get away." - You'll be lying if that didn't crush you. But despite how crushed you were, you still pushed through and pursued him. You didn't know why and where you got the determination to do so, but you did.
Every single day, you were by Bakugo's side. No matter how much he yells and scold you, you were there. You cheer him up whenever he fails in training. You spend most of your time beside him, even during studying at the library- giving him some peace whenever he needs it. And you even started making and giving him some homemade bento- to which he ends up eating anyway.
One time, you even teased him telling how you placed some kind of love potion in his food so he could fall in love with you. He almost died choking, and yet you were laughing your ass off.
For Bakugo, you were a total distraction. For you, everyday with him was fun.
You were on your way to class, excited for another day with Bakugo (even though you aren't dating) when you overheard a conversation.
"Why don't you try and go out with [y/n]? I don't think she's that bad... She's really gorgeous too." Kirishima asks- obviously talking to Bakugo.
You were hiding behind the wall- making sure you weren't seen. Maybe you would finally hear his real feelings? Maybe he'll finally give you a chance. But no.
"Why don't you go out with her instead?" Bakugo snapped. "I don't like her. She's really fucking annoying. I hate how she keeps distracting me." He spat. Now that.... that really hurts.
You knew liking Bakugo wasn't good for you, and yet you still pursued him- now you're here. Backfired with what he just said.
You were holding the bento you made for him this morning, and honestly- what's the use of giving it to him now? He was probably forced to eat it since he doesn't want to waste some food. Instead of going inside, you spent the time outside and waited till the class started.
That day, Bakugo was expecting you to distract and annoy him like usual. But you didn't. Maybe because you were late and that you didn't have time to annoy him before the teacher came in. So he expected that you'll be there at lunch, handing him another bento and teasing him how he loves your cooking. Again, you weren't. Instead, you were hanging around with Ochako, Iida, and Midoriya.
"Huh... Maybe she gave up already. That's good. No more distractions." He mutters to himself.
Its already been three days since you started avoiding Bakugo. You never even look at him. You walk pass by him as if you never knew him. It felt weird for Bakugo. He should be rejoicing since he's back to his usual routine with no distractions.
He noticed how you got so close to Deku and how much both of you were laughing and spending time together. It pisses him off. He didn't even know why. He shouldn't even care. That Deku is a total idiot.
A week has already passed, and you were still avoiding him. It was hard for you. You miss him so much, but then again, you didn't want to be a distraction to his life. You want him to atleast achieve his dream- and you being there, he probably won't be able to reach that if you were being a nuisance.
You were on your way to the library to meet Deku when you were grabbed into a small janitor closet. You were about to scream when a hand covered your mouth.
"Don't even make a sound, dumbass.." A familiar voice hissed. You glanced up, seeing Bakugo towering over you. You could feel your heart almost leaping out of your chest. You wanted to hug him, even kiss him... but then, you remembered his words.
"What do you want?" You frowned, acting cold.
Of course, Bakugo was dumbfounded. He never expected you to get so cold. His furrowed brows deepened, placing his hands on each side of your head. And then, you were caged by a hot attractive bomb.
"What? Are you dating that loser Deku now?" He spat, leaning his face closer to yours. You could feel how quick the increase of your heart rate, but you tried your best to stay calm.
"What the hell are you talking about? Of course not!" You denied, crossing your arms across your chest and looked away from him. You didn't want to get tempted by his looks-- and proximity.
Relief washed through Bakugo's face. "Then why aren't you approaching me anymore?" He asked. It was a silly question. He wanted her out of his life, and now he's questioning this?
Your frown deepened as you look up at him. Is he fucking serious? "Aren't you the one that told me to stay away? Aren't you the one who said that I'm annoying and, a distraction?!" You snapped, pushing him away from you. You noticed how his face turned pale. His eyes constricted in shock.
"Y-You heard that?" He asked. You scoffed, rolling your eyes.
"Well, I'm sure you're glad that I'm finally out of your life." You mutter. "And since that's finally fulfilled, I don't see why I'm here so I'll get going. Deku's waiting for me."
You were about to step out of the small room closet when he suddenly grabbed your arm and pinned you against the wall. Before you could even protest, his soft warm lips were already pressed against yours.
This time, you were the one dumbfounded. Your eyes wide and your cheeks heating up. It was as if anytime, you're gonna wake up from such a weird weird dream.
Once he pulled away, you noticed how red his cheeks and ears were. "I miss you."
Those words. Did she even hear it right? As if hearing your thoughts, he repeated it again.
"I miss you, [y/n]. I hate how much you distract me... I hate how fucking annoying you are... I hate how you kept teasing me. But fuck, I hate it when you're not around me. I hate it when I see you hanging around with Deku. I kept thinking that it was me you're supposed to be with, and not him!" His voice were rough yet quiet and sincere. His crimson eyes focused on yours. "And I hate how much I don't want to lose you...."
You breathing were hitched. You didn't know how to react. You didn't know what to say. You didn't even know how you'll be taking all of these words in. Was I hallucinating? Is someone using some kind of weird quirk on me?
"I said those words before because I thought I could hate you..." he continued. The back of his fingers gently brushing along your blushing cheek. "But then, when you were gone and avoiding me... I couldn't tolerate it. I want to see you. I want you beside me. I want you to look at me, and only me. Fuck, I realized then, that I like you so fucking much [y/n] and I can't let you go."
You realized then how close his face was. His hot breath brushing against your lips, and his warm hand cupping your cheek.
"I like you, [y/n]." He whispers, his lips mere inchese away from yours. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
And, instead of answering, you leaned up closer and pressed your lips against his.
a/n; well, it is quite a long part right? lol,,, IM SO SORRY that it took ages to write, (it’s 2 week) but i had a writer’s block for this fic, and again, i’m so sorry,, but let’s chat a little, how did you find this part? i hope you liked it,, thanks for reading, ily ♡
''Y/N, can you take out the trash?'' after hearing Soobin voice, I blow a breath to the air, taking out trash never felt this tiring in my life, and probably this was all because of me laying on my bed for all day and doing nothing. My body slowly turned into a jelly by days, as I do nothing but pitying myself and yes, I know that is one miserable move, but no one can judge me at the moment, as I won't let it.
''Is it okay if I take out myself as trash?'' Soobin looks at me worriedly, fixing her posture to give me a response, raising her head from Taehyung's legs, ''We are still miserable, huh?'' With her move, Taehyung looks at me with flat lips, probably he was worried about me too, as Soobin tells him everything, and I'm totally okay with this because he is a good guy, making my best friend happy and all. At least one of the people who live in this apartment were happy. ''I am totally okay! Can't you see how fine I am Soobin?'' I scoffed but it wasn't intended to hurt her or anything like that. I just so sickened myself with these behaviors, and now they were stuck with me, and won't let go of me for a second. ''I'm sorry,'' misery was hearable by my tone, but I didn't mind it.
''Okay, that's enough!'' Taehyung and I were surprised by the sudden yell coming from Soobin, as we didn't expect it at all. She is looking very frustrated at the moment, and I can't deny that I'm low key scared at her. ''You. Sit.'' she points the light green couch with her finger, demanding me in a tone that I immediately obeyed. Taehyung's wide-open eyes wandering on Soobin, he was surprised as much as me, which it's understandable because I don't think that Taehyung made Soobin this angry before, and I can say that this is my specialty. ''I. Sit.'' after sitting to the couch I said in irony, but I only wanted to ease the tension she got in her veins but sadly, it backfired.
''Cut the crap, Y/N,''
''Okay, honey. I think we need to calm a little, huh?'' Even though I appreciate Taehyung's efforts to calming Soobin, I knew that it would backfire, too. Her deadly gaze gathers on him and he goes silent in a second, which I tried to hold my laughter as watching them will never make me less entertained, but right now I need to be serious, for not to be killed by Soobin. ''I don't want to become this, but you literally forced me to do this, Y/N. You know that right?'' she holds her hands on his knees, lifting one eyebrows judgmentally. I nodded, and if I have to be honest with this situation, whenever I feel or act miserable, Soobin is the one who always pulls me up with her attitudes, with her rough but correct words, so in a way, it was a relief to see her in this attitudes.
''Look, I know you and Yoongi for a long time, and I can't say that he is a bad guy, but if he said that he doesn't want you, then you have to move on sweetie. It's for the best,'' after she ends her words, Teahyung nudges her with his elbow, shake his head in disapproval, but I ignore his kind warnings. ''Well he didn't say that he didn't want me or anything,'' murmuring in my own didn't go as I plan it, and I understand that by the wide-opened eyes, staring at me in surprise. ''Wait a minute, what?''
''Why did you say that he rejected Y/N, Soobin?''
''Because she was living in her bed for almost a week now, and not doing anything apart from eating, and breathing which she barely eats. I thought that he rejected you, Y/N!'' Both of them now looking at me, their puzzled glances stay on me until I start to speak, which is a very uncomfortable moment for me. ''He never officially rejected me, but with his lack of interest, finally, I understand that he doesn't want to be with me.'' With an exhausted whine, Soobin puts her head in his palm, covering her face, while Taehyung shaking his head, and he tries to hold back his laughter by biting his lip.
''Y/N, what did he say to you?'' Instead of giving him a decent response, I just shrug my shoulders because remembering the moments we had wasn't the best thing I wanted to at this moment, but eventually, I gave up. ''Well, he said that he needs some time to deal with his problems and all, that he couldn't find the answer yet, and something like this.''
''You are such a stupid person, Y/N,'' Soobin start to talk under her breaths, looking at me in disappointment, but I couldn't understand the fuss about what I said. He clearly rejected me with his behaviors, didn't he? Taehyung gets up from the couch to come to my side, holding my shoulders after sitting right beside me. ''Honey, I'm sorry but you totally misread the situation.'' his lips were still flat, but I could read the pity that he feels for me, and still I couldn't understand what they were trying to say.
''If he didn't reject you 'officially' then that's mean, he didn't reject you Y/N, because Yoongi isn't a guy who interprets his words or, his behaviors. He would totally speak to you, in a case like this.'' Taeyhung start to explaining to me, probably gets sick of my silly looks, as I can't understand what they were trying to say to me by calling me stupid. ''He is one straight guy, like the straightest.''
''Firstly, I don't think this word exists, and secondly, are you sure? Because it feels like he rejected me.'' Soobin literally growled at me, before start to talking and telling how stupid I am, all over again, and in a way, I agreed with her. ''I'm telling it for the last time, I know him, okay? I know him and yes, it is not a rejection. Get this, Y/N.'' The room buried in silence, after what she said. I tried to order my thoughts for a second beside my emotions because if it's true, and if he really didn't reject me, so that's mean I still have a shot with him. ''I guess we broke her, baby.'' Taehyung's words were nothing but a whisper for me at the moment, thrill just takes over my body, heartbeats reach my neck, goosebumps appear. Even though they explained to me more than one time now, I still couldn't believe it and didn't want to believe it mostly. Because if I hold my hopes high one more time just to drop them all over again, I couldn't bear the idea of this. I just needed to suppress it, give this possibility a good thought then, maybe I can be happy about it. Yes, this plan sounds good to me.
Well, I gave it a good amount of thought this idea, but whenever I think, it feels like it's not real at all, sounded like a dumb idea but every time I call this idea 'dumb', Soobin was there to punch me or kick, and if she can't be my side physically, she would simply call me dumb as quittance, which I find it very childish but who am I the judge? I literally stayed at my bed for weeks and cried like a highschool girl, and being a high school girl isn't a bad thing unless you are not a grown woman, who has to work for paying her bills, for food and all. I'm almost twenty-six and my behaviors would tell the very opposite.
''Y/N, we are leaving! Are you sure about not coming with us?'' Whoops! I totally forget the dinner thing, but even if I didn't forget it, I wouldn't dare to go out and face with him as nothing happened before or, how many times I thought about his feelings for me, as according to Soobin and Taehyung, he had feelings for me or, didn't reject me? Whatever it is, I just couldn't face him, so I just passed tonight's event. ''I'm pretty sure Soobin, have fun!''
''Okay, I love you, have fun!'' And after the last yelling, she closes the door very loudly that I jumped on my chair. ''Jeez. woman,'' But after a moment, her words start to itching my mind, how could I have fun in this home, with my thoughts? She was clearly mocking with me, but I decided to let it slide away. As I have to deal with my work stuff, and I meant writing when I say it because I need to get my work done or, my publisher is going to kill me eventually. Okay, maybe killing is a little exaggerated will but still, I couldn't judge her, as I came back Seoul for almost four months now, and I did nothing, rather, I have to write at least half of the book that I'm working on these days.
Hours had passed, and I could barely write a decent storyline as most of my paper had a lot of crossing on the words that I wrote but still, it was better than nothing, I guess? When I finally straighten my back cracking voice reach to my ears, shut down my eyes when I feel the pain, the ache reaches through my neck, and I sighed. I didn't know how much time had passed now, but according to my back pain, I could say that it is a lot. ''Okay, now what I am going to do?'' I ask myself out loud, lean on my back until I touch the chair, rubbing my eyes because they were itching in exhaustion. So, I stayed in this pose until I heard the door ring, which it's a semi-surprise for me, as I didn't wait for Soobin to come back this early, but probably she felt sorry for me and decided to cut the night early this time. I stand up swiftly to open the door, which I still couldn't understand why she wasn't using her keys. ''Are you too drunk to open-''
''How did you know that I'm drunk?''
''Yoongi?'' My jaw drops to my chest after seeing the boy leaning on the corner of the door, a silly grin hanging on his lips, looking at me in shock, as I 'know' that he was drunk. After a moment of not knowing what to do and failing to talk to him finally, I could be able to gather my courage to talk. ''Okay, I guess you need to come inside,'' and before I could finish my words properly, he takes a step to the small apartment, walking to the couch as he was familiar with this apartment more than me. I close the door, before following his steps, and watching him sitting to the couch cozily. ''You didn't come today,'' he said as making a statement, but it was obvious that I wasn't there with them, as he came to my place but he was drunk so I hold myself from saying something ironic. ''Do you need to drink water?''
''You didn't come,'' he just ignored my question with a very demanding voice. I didn't know what to do for a second, so I just ignored him just like him. ''Maybe coffee. So we can purify from all the alcohol, huh?''
''You didn't-''
''Yes! Yes, I didn't come today Yoongi. What are you trying to say? For god sake!'' We both look very surprised, as neither of us waiting for this aggressive yelling from me, but hearing the same thing over and over again starts to irritate me, as I could feel the tension between us growing rapidly, his chest starts to move swiftly as well as mine. I watch his expression to go angry from shock, but without waiting any minute, I continued to talk. ''I have a life beside you. You know that right? Plus, I don't need to explain it!''
''Oh you have a life, huh?'' his husky voice spread into the room, misty glares of him stayed on me, there were some emotions that I couldn't understand but decided to ignore it. ''Yes, and this surprised you because?''
''You can have a life but I can't?'' now his voice starts to raise, leaving me in shock with his statement, so he decided to continue. ''When I say that, when I say that I have a life and have something to deal with, you scold me. But here we are, you say that you have a life!''
''Okay I think you are overreacting right now, Yoongi,'' I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his reactions, which his attitudes now making me a little uncomfortable, but what I said made him angrier I guess, as now he stand up swiftly with shaky hands. ''Am I overreacting? Overreacting!'' his hands start to brush his hair, now his whole body was shaking in rage, for a second I thought he was going to throw something at me but thankfully, he did not.
''If I am overreacting then what are you doing? Why are you not coming when we all hang out? Are you chicken out for being at the same place as me? Just because I said that I need some time?'' if someone could see the two of us, probably would think that he was having a tantrum with all of these hand gestures and yelling but luckily, we were alone. But the one who is not lucky right now is no one other than Yoongi. As he called me a 'coward' after all, he has to pay this. ''I am not. Chicken out. I have some things to deal with, you know?''
''Haha. Funny but I am not buying this crap.'' his imitation of the laugh was highly ridiculous and unnecessary, but somehow he manages to trigger my anger. ''What do you want, Yoongi? One second, you want me gone, don't want to see me, but then coming to my house and scolding me. What do you want?'' breathlessness takes over me at the end of my words, semi-coughed for fixing my throat, but just when I stop talking, his husky voice covered the room. ''I'd never not want to see you, Y/N,''
''What?''
''How could you think that? I'm dying to see you every damn day, every moment.'' When he stopped talking, I just stay there quietly, staring blankly at his face because words were pretty hard to establish for me, as what his words now wandering in my mind, trying to make it sense but doesn't work. He sigh. ''I'm not a bright person like Hoseok or, funny like Jin. I don't even know how I got to be friends with them Y/N. I am not an outgoing person. I'm just a man who goes to his studio, locks himself to there, and just works on his music.''
''And you think that I am best at being funny or anything else? I called you Min Yoongi for days, Yoongi,'' I said immediately after he finishes his words because he was being ridiculous.
''Everyone loves you Y/N. You are funny, caring, pretty-'' his eyes widened after what he said, taking his sight from me to landing on the room. ''You think I'm pretty?'' I questioned because I had to. It is just too much information for me at one time. First, he says that he wants to see me every day and then calls me pretty? This man wants me dead, for sure. His shy smile appears on his lips, only to cause me more ache on the heart, taking my breath by my lungs, so we both stay silent. Nevertheless, I could hear my heartbeats, throbbing loudly, and I'm pretty sure that he could hear it too.
''Yes. Yes, I think that you are pretty, beautiful and amazing. As I know that I'm a stupid man who is afraid to break your heart or, couldn't fulfill your needs, but I am sure about one thing that I want you in my life, as more than a friend.'' he ends his words, raises his brows as waiting for an answer, but I couldn't talk at the moment. Neither I manage to talk, nor breathing. Jaw drops to the chest, mouth dried in shock, vacant stares placed on his weak smile. I waited for this moment, for almost three months, and now instead of jumping to his arms, I just stay there, petrified like a statue.
''Okay, I guess this is the time where you say that you want me in your life as more than a friend or, I am going to freak out,'' An instant laughter takes over me until I start panting, his face grows more worried now, but it was so cute. ''I.. Of course I want you in my life as more than a friend, Yoongi. Stop looking at me with those doe eyes.''
''Thank goodness! For a second you got me, Y/N,'' his chuckles echoed with mines, as his steps start to get closer to me, while I could feel my pulse on my body, wriggle on the stomach, as he holds my wrist to pull me closer, nodding as asking for permission. Rather than permitting him, I bumped my lips to his soft ones, tiny giggle slides by his mouth when he deepens the kiss.
''Did I mentioned that you are talented as well?'' he asked after breaking the kiss, caused me to chuckle, and I gave him a little hard hit on the shoulder, but he responded it with a giggle, before leaning to kiss me, he said, ''Well, just to make sure, you are very talented.''
it doesn't have to be long or super elaborate but maybe a drabble with Little Cato seeing how stressful and tiring the idea of fatherhood is to Gary, how scared he is to screw up and comforting him? Bonus points for Gary opening about his childhood to Cato a bit.
minnie I think we both knew that I was never just gonna write a drabble for this. honestly I think I’m incapable of writing anything less than 1500 words. but this prompt? killed me. I love it!!!
Little Cato and Gary rush behind a group of barrels, gun fire following closely after. Little Cato pants, his fingers tightening around his gun as Gary takes his larger gun off of the strap on his back.
"This isn't good, at all," Gary says frantically.
Little Cato nods in agreement, peeking a look around the barrel behind him to see the enemy growing closer and closer. He glances at the man next to him who's focus is flitting around the warehouse room, probably looking for any close exits.
They really need a good plan.
The Ventrexian notices a clear and hidden path that would lead him right behind the men advancing on them. Okay, so he has a plan now.
"I'm gonna sneak behind and distract them, cover me," Little Cato says, immediately running off to enact his plan.
He barely even registers Gary's panicked, "Little Cato, don't you dare," as he launches himself over a crate and lands without a sound behind the men.
"Hey!" the kid yells, instantly drawing attention to himself. He takes this opportunity to shoot at two of the guys, and he's about to get another when he suddenly sees a dark shadow fall over him, then—
Snap!
Little Cato screams in agony, tears bursting from his eyes as searing hot and sharp pain courses through his arm. A large and strong hand squeezes his broken arm, and he cries out again as he's lifted off of the ground. He hears and feels something crunch, so he can barely register Gary's distant yelling from the white noise filling his ears.
He forces his eyes open, his vision blurry from his tears, to see Gary standing tall, his blaster at the ready in front of him. Words are being said, but Little Cato can't tell by who because of the pure agony he's in from so much pressure being put on his very broken arm.
Little Cato tries to take in deep breaths, but all he can do is pant. And then all of a sudden someone shouts, shots are fired, and the grip holding him up disappears, sending him hard onto the cement ground. He curls around his arm, more tears slipping down his face.
"Little Cato! Hey, buddy, what hurts?" Gary demands, frantic yet gentle all in one.
"Arm," he whimpers.
Gary curses under his breath and cards a hand through Little Cato's hair. "It's gonna be okay, bud. Just hold on. Nightfall, we need...."
Little Cato feels Gary wipe away a few of his tears as everything fades away, and then he passes out.
----
Gary's angry. Little Cato notices it within seconds of getting out of the medpod. Actually, cross out mad; pissed is more like it. He's just standing there, his arms crossed as Nightfall puts his arm into a splint so that it can continue to heal properly.
She can sense the tension between them, but once she finishes with his injuries, she leaves the room. So he won't get any help from her in stopping Gary from yelling at him. Great.
His dad isn't wearing his leather jacket, his hair is even more disheveled than usual, and he just looks tired. But more importantly pissed, which is not going to go well for Little Cato.
"How are you feeling?" Gary asks, stepping away from the counter he had been leaning on.
"Better," the kid responds. "The advanced healing and painkillers probably help, too."
Gary nods, and the silence that follows is very awkward, for the both of them. Little Cato decides to break it.
"I know what you're gonna say."
The blond raises an eyebrow. "And it is...?"
"That I shouldn't have done that."
"Yeah, you're right," Gary huffs. "But you don't believe that, do you?"
"It was a good plan," he mumbles.
"No, it wasn't! Why would you do something so stupid and reckless? You could have gotten killed!" Gary yells, throwing his arms out in exasperation.
"I had it under control!" Little Cato defends, his tail bristling.
Gary rubs his hands down his face. "Oh, so you meant to break your arm? They would've killed you if you couldn't be used as leverage against me."
Little Cato doesn't have a response to that, so he just holds his splinted arm against his stomach and stays quiet. His dad is obviously waiting for him to say something, but after a few moments of silence, he sighs.
"You're grounded. Go get some rest," Gary says, some anger still left in his voice.
Little Cato splutters, "But I–!"
Gary sends him a stern look. "I'm not arguing about this, bud. Go get rest so your arm can heal."
Little Cato hops down from the exam table with a huff and stalks past Gary, straight to his room. He slams his door shut, sliding down it until he's seated in an angry ball in the floor. Okay, yeah he got injured, but it's okay! He's still alive and kicking, just like he should be. And it was a good plan, even if it backfired.
The kid sits there angrily for at least a few hours, wondering why grounding was really necessary, until someone knocks on his door. He stands and opens it, thankfully seeing Nightfall instead of Gary.
"Um, hey," Little Cato says.
"He's upset, you know." Damn, Nightfall did not waste any time in getting to the point.
The boy shrugs. "Well, he's the one who grounded me and got mad," he mutters.
"You think he's mad? He's worried about you, Little Cato. He's been pacing the bridge this whole time. He won't let anyone in there," Nightfall says.
"He's worried? But my arm is healing." Little Cato is so confused right now.
Nightfall sighs deeply. "He thinks that he isn't raising you right. He blames himself for you getting hurt."
"Oh."
She hums. "Yeah. Oh."
Now that Little Cato is looking back on it, what he thought was anger was just very intense worry. And Gary looked so tired and worn out.... Oh shit, he messed up.
"Oh noooo," Little Cato moans, covering his face with his unbroken arm. "I'm an idiot."
Nightfall pats him on the back. "You're not an idiot, you both are just new to this."
"I'm gonna go apologize," he says.
Little Cato immediately runs towards the bridge as fast as he can without jostling his arm too much, slipping around corners in his haste to make things right. He can see the doorway just ahead, so he sprints faster and then abruptly stops in the middle of the entryway.
His dad is sitting in the pilot's chair, hunched over, his head in his hands. Little Cato can't see his face, but he knows that Gary is absolutely miserable right now. Oh, he really messed up this time.
The kid quietly approaches Gary, but stops next to him. Cautiously, he places his good hand on the man's shoulder, which causes his dad to lift his head and panic when he sees who it is.
"Spidercat, hey," Gary says nervously. "What are you doing?"
Little Cato frowns when he sees how Gary's eyes are red, the dark circles under them just making it even worse.
"Scoot over," he demands.
Gary gives him a confused look but moves over anyways. The kid squeezes himself into the small spot, and it's more than a tight fit. But he doesn't care because that's not important right now, but it does make wrapping his one good arm around his dad in a hug much easier.
The man stiffens at the contact, but Little Cato came here with a plan and will not stray from it. "I'm sorry about earlier, Gary."
"It's, uh, it's okay."
"No, I was being a butt. You were just worried about me," he urges.
Gary sighs. "Nightfall talked to you, didn't she?"
The kid nods.
"I'm fine, don't worry about what she said," Gary says enthusiastically, but now that Little Cato knows him better, he can tell it's a lie from how his smile doesn't reach his eyes. Also, even more telling than that, is how he still hasn't hugged Little Cato back.
"I don't know what's banging around in your head, but you're doing a good job. Like, dad-wise. Well, at least I think so, and I think I've got some authority to give my opinion on that," Little Cato encourages nervously.
He smiles up at Gary, who has an unreadable expression on his face. Little Cato wonders what it is until Gary just lets out a stuttering sigh and rubs at his face, his hands shaking slightly.
Oh, he's concerned now. "Are you okay?
"Oh, geez," Gary says as he pinches his eyes. "I'm just overwhelmed lately, kiddo. God, you are the last person I should be talking to about this."
Gary laughs sardonically as he tries to recollect himself. Little Cato just sits and waits for him to speak because if Gary is gonna be there for him, he has to do the same.
"After my dad died, I had no one. It was just us my entire life, and I didn't even meet my mom until the funeral. I was too young to be looking out for parenting tips, so I have no idea what I'm doing. And today? You really could've gotten hurt worse than you did, and that would have all been on me. I don't want my mistakes to hurt you.
"I've messed up everything in my life so far, and I can't let you be the next thing."
Gary makes eye contact with Little Cato, and the kid can see every single worry he has bottled up on the verge of bursting out.
"I don't care if you've messed up before, I think all you can do is try your best," Little Cato reasons.
The blond sighs. "That's the thing. I have to be better than my best for this, and I'm doing a horrible job."
"I mean, I think you're pretty great, Dad," he says, passionately quiet. He feels Gary shudder from where he's holding him, and two arms wrap him up in a tight hug. Gary buries his face into the top of his head, allowing Little Cato to feel some tears fall. So he hugs harder.
"If you're gonna be too busy taking care of everyone else to take care of yourself, I'm just gonna have to do it for you," the kid promises.
His dad laughs wetly, smiling at Little Cato's smug expression. "Oh yeah? Thank you, my dear old dad," Gary jokes.
Little Cato nods seriously. "You're welcome, my son."
They both laugh, and Gary takes this opportunity to wipe away his tears. Gary nestles his hand on top of his boy's head as they both turn their attention towards the endless space before them. They don't know what's going to happen in the future, but Little Cato knows that Gary will realize how great of a dad he is soon.
"You're still grounded, by the way."
"Yeah. That's fair."
