EVERYONE GREAT NEWS REWRITE ANON RETURNED AND BLESSED US W MORE! i'll copy & paste the rest of the asks under the cut ⬇️ it's pretty long but worth the read (ive left my own notes in pink)
Tumblr media
[continued from screenshot] We didn’t come up with a new name for Kylo Ren/Ben Solo but we did come up with a new arc and I put him in a traditional Alderaanian cape in the concept art sketches because he deserves to be an Organa (potes notes: YES!!!). I also gave him a lightning scar instead of a lightsaber scar because it made a bit more sense.
Our general plan was that yes, he’s still evil, at least a bit. His parents and uncle are awe-inspiring war heroes as well as being incredibly busy making sure the entire Galaxy doesn’t collapse in on itself in the power vacuum left behind by the Empire. Luke is part of a humanitarian aid/Geneva Convention type wing of the New Republic and Kylo finds himself both feeling like he lacks the means to prove himself and like they’re not doing enough to squash the threat of insurgence - which is still a clear threat and there have been multiple attempts on his mother’s life that have left the family scared. He absorbs certain parts of his mother and father’s political conduct; Leia’s willingness to fight for what’s right and Han’s general impulsiveness.
Anyway keep that in mind. He makes a stupid bid to try and prove himself by trying to fight off a whole imperial remnant cell alone “Just like the Jedi used to do.” and ends up going completely missing. Tl/dr: he’s super close to death and the big bad of the movie steps in to save him, teaching him what he always wanted to learn - how to fight and defend the people you love rather than focusing on connection to the force. Kylo doesn’t see the significance of that side of things, both because his parents don’t have an interest in it and because he’s grown up with tales of the daring exploits of Master Luke taking on ten people at once and chopping robots to bits. He just wants to make people proud of him. (OHHH THIS IS SO GOOD SO SO MUCH BETTER)
He’s pretty young when this happens too, and eventually his mind is twisted to believe that the only way to keep everyone safe is dictatorship. He’s grown up in a long, slow, difficult democracy with constant political unrest and everyone’s described how powerful and stable the Empire was his whole life - doesn’t matter that they were talking about how cool it was that they beat it. He still absorbed all that. (THIS IS SUCH A GOOD CHARACTER MOTIVATION and also great setup for themes/discussions on radicalisation and its like poetry it rhymes w anakin's fall omg)
Anyway, flash forward to the time of the films. He’s not a Sith, he can’t manage to push himself that far into the dark side. But he wants to be. He’s got a complex about it, he’s obsessed with getting stronger because then maybe they’ll be proud of me. He loses his first fight with Rey, not because she’s strong in the force at this point, but because he’s trained himself to the point of exhaustion after being reprimanded for a minor failure in interrogating Poe. He can barely move and he’s on the verge of fainting when they corner him in fact. He’s practically addicted to the pain of overtraining himself because that pain is what connects him to the dark side. (GOOD FIX!! 10/10 writing omg)
When Rey actually becomes a more formidable opponent in the force, he asks her “Who trained you?” and she tells him it was Han, not knowing the blow this is going to strike. This gets in his head. Badly. Han never understood the force when he was a kid, and was still not the best at being emotionally vulnerable (he was a great dad! But he was still the man who said “I know.” to “I love you.” (oop yep ok see ur point LOL)). Kylo isn’t to know that Han was FORCED to overcome this stuff through a brief stay in absolute hell. He asks what she can possibly have that he doesn’t, how is she better than him? And when he lashes out at Rey, telling her about the Han he knew, she doesn’t believe him and calls him a liar and a terrible son. This fight (which takes place on water) ends up with Rey almost drowning as Kylo throws a massive force tantrum, and Kylo having a breakdown under the sea in a force air bubble after the fight is over.
I think I’ll do a couple more asks because this one has been super long! I’m sorry if this was a chore to read I just thought I’d share if you liked the last one hah.
--------------------------------------------------
Rewrite anon again! I’m sorry if this is getting tedious!
We had a general plan for Kylo Ren’s redemption where Rey would be in danger of falling to the dark side by the end of the second film (IM LISTENING), and Kylo would already be on the path to questioning things after some hard hitting blows
Death of Luke (his master) (;-;)
Rey was trained by and kind of adopted by Han and has become the galaxy’s beacon of hope. Maybe it is all on him. And she loves Han so much that it’s hard for his new master to twist the facts on him anymore.
The third film would be a fucked up family reunion type bit where Kylo begs for forgiveness and him and Han set off to try and save Rey together. (YESSSSSSS!!! omg this is everything to me holy shit)
Thanks for the listen! I hope these aren’t too annoying. (IM LOVING IT)
---------------------------------------
Rewrite anon again (sorry). Wanted to mention Leia, Poe and Finn.
Leia is dealing with a massive insurgence threat which is why she sends Rey (galaxy’s last hope) away with Han (good at hiding. Also the only person she could both trust and spare).
Finn and Poe both comment a lot on how Rey’s galactic significance makes her blind to people’s lives. The New Order might keep her alive because she’s valuable, and Kylo might listen to her, but Finn and Poe are both canon fodder to both Kylo and the New Order. Hierarchy of lives and all that. (oooo yes that'd be such a fun like... counterpoint to the whole Skywalker Saga & fate-destiny-soap-opera)
Poe used to be a fighter pilot but is now more of a political leader and provides a necessary voice in the senate to backwater outer rim planets. He’s Leia’s political mentor (i assume you meant mentee/student?) with none of her royal manners and all of her intensity.
Finn isn’t exactly a clone, but he is grown in a lab. He’s more of a super-soldier than a clone, designed at the genetic level to be basically eugenics’ perfect man. (puts on my CATWS stan hat im listening) He becomes a field agent/espionage/sabotage type guy after defecting from the New Order because he doesn’t want to be involved in active combat any more, even though it’s hardwired into him and he has to fight it the whole way. Luke takes a liking to Finn before his death and teaches him about the importance of forging your own identity first before you start to think about where you’ve come from.
Hope you like the ideas lol we had a lot.
------------------------------------------------
Final (?) ask from rewrite anon maybe. It’s about Han because we did kinda just make the Han movies I realise.
Han saves Rey from pirates after she finally cheats herself offworld for the first time and finds herself overwhelmed. After losing Kylo to the New Order he has long since realised his shortcomings in parenting and while he works up the courage to reach out to his son, he uses Rey kind of like a do-over child. (...healthy!)
Han ends up stuck with Rey after Luke’s death and with Leia pinned down on all sides, and as well as trying to give her super DIY teaching, he realises she can talk to Luke. Understandably this hits him like a truck while he’s grieving his friend, and him and Luke have a kind of Haymitch and Katniss communicating-without-communicating relationship. Han can’t see or hear Luke, but he knows when Luke’s trying to use timing to tell him something. (AGH I LOVE THISSSSSSSSSSS YES using a THG comparison makes me love it even more)
Han also survives until the end of the films. Harrison Ford would hate me for this he wants that guy to die so bad but no the smuggler from the fuck end of nowhere with no cosmic significance, no nothing, just the power of love and a gun makes it to the end. The survivor’s guilt is insane. (ohh LOVE THATTT!!! ESPECIALLY W UR EARLIER THING OF FINN N POE SEEING THEMSELVES AS CANON FODDER WITHOUT A GALACTIC DESTINY)
Hope you enjoyed reading these and that they weren’t too much of a bore. Maybe I’ll write some of this stuff down if people like it. (EVERYONE TELL ANON HOW MUCH YOU LIKE THIS RIGHT NOW)
---------------------------------------------------------
Rewrite anon again (sorry)
Rey does of course lose her hand (fair, as is tradition) and she replaces it with a shitload of gadgets massively egged on by Han and Chewie. I think she’d have a special glove for it kind of like the equalist gloves in LOK. (SICK!)
Would also be great to have a ‘jedi’ protagonist who is even less aware of standard practice than Luke and will try definitely illegal moves like changing the length of the blade mid fight or kicking sand in your opponent’s eyes. (LMAO amazing omg)
---------------------------------------- (that was the last ask)
Me and my friend had some fun trying to rewrite the sequel trilogy a while ago and I think the best idea we had was Luke dies and Han and Rey get stranded on some nowhere planet where he has to haphazardly attempt to teach her years of jedi training in like a week entirely by reading out of Luke’s notes (somehow even worse than Luke’s extremely DIY training in the OT).
This isn’t at all based on the ‘Han has the force’ theory it’s literally just crabby atheist old man Han Solo and his dead best friend’s religious texts that are totally useless to him vs the world.
i LOVE that, disney needs to get you two rewriting the sequels STAT

Cross My Heart
Part 1 - Self Preservation
Summary: eventual poly141 x reader. Enemies to lovers, mini fic.
CW: Mention/description of injuries, mention/description of weapons.
Part 2
Enjoy <3
Tumblr media
A light flicks on waking you from your sleep.
Your eyes open looking round the room, it only takes a few seconds before your eyes land on a man holding a pistol at you. He’s sat on a chair, covered in what looks like military gear. There’s a bigger weapon slung over his back.
“Not a good idea to be sleepin’ when you’re alone.” He has an accent you can’t quite place. Not American though.
“I had lookouts.”
“Yeah, ‘bout that.” You swallow hard, your heart is pumping rapidly in your chest. They’re most likely dead. Innocent people dead.
“What do you want?” You ask, your eyes flick over to the pistol on your night stand. The man seems to see that, a change in your attitude.
You have to act now.
You reach out for the weapon. The man is on his feet in an instant, the pistol in his hand comes down hard on your wrist.
You yelp out in pain, your weapon falling to the floor. The door to the room fly's open, there’s another man now. He makes you jump, training an AR at your head.
There’s no point in fighting.
The man next to you picks the weapon up off the floor, unloading it and throwing it to the side. You swing your legs out the bed, throwing the covers back.
“Don’t fuckin’ move!” He shouts. You hear the safety click off his gun, your breath catches in your throat. You hold your hands up, you’re unarmed, there’s nothing you can do.
“What are you doing in a ULF safehouse?” The man in the doorway asks, you keep your eyes trained on the person holding the pistol to your head. British? You get a better look at the man in front of you, his badges. SAS, Union Jack, fuck.
“You’re injured?” There’s blood on his vest, it’s a long shot but better then nothing. “I’m a medic. I can help.” It’s a lie but all you can think about is getting out here alive.
The man looks to the doorway, you keep still. Even if you could tackle him to the ground his friend would finish you off.
“We’ve got one injured, think you could help?” The man in the doorways asks.
“What happened?” You ask, trying to hide your nerves. Your mum was a nurse, your dad a doctor before. Before the war.
“GSW.” That’s all you’re given, that could mean anything.
“You work with the ULF?” The man in front of you asks. You shake your head.
“Al Qatala?” You shake your head again.
“Who?” The man in the doorway asks again. This time you turn to him. The mask on his face is splattered with blood. He’s bigger, taller and wider than the guy in front of you. He has the same patches though, Union Jack, SAS.
“You said you had injured? You’re not going to find a hospital around here. It’s all Al Qatala controlled territory.” You say. Self preservation at its finest.
“Can you help then?” The man in front of you asks. You turn to look at him, your hands still in the air.
“The longer we wait the less chance I have. Gunshot wounds can be unpredictable.” You say swallowing the nerves. Confidence is key, that's what you learnt once. The man in front of you puts down his weapon grabbing your wrist and pulling you to your feet.
“Try anything and we fuckin’ kill ya.” He says through gritted teeth.
When you make it down to the ground floor as their hostage you can smell the blood in the air. The man with the mohawk is walking down first, the man with the mask is behind you, the barrel of his AR digging into your shoulder blades.
You can see two other people, they’re dressed in similar gear. At least one of them is, the other is laid out on the couch. The man standing turns, he brings a pistol up pointing it at you.
“Eazy Gaz. She’s a medic.”
“Doesn’t look like one.” The man-Gaz-says lowering his gun looking around at the people escorting you. You make it over to the person on the sofa. He doesn’t look good.
You don’t know what you’re doing, you didn’t think you could make it this far. They’ve taken his vest, belt and boots off. It’s just his shirt and trousers, his shirt is soaked through, pulled up to his chest. They’ve been trying to stop the bleeding. You’ve seen wounds like this before, you’ve seen people die from wounds like this.
“You said you could help him. What do you need?” The voice snaps you out of your head, you look over at him. The mohawk guy, he’s put his pistol away.
You have no idea what to do.
“Clean water, and bandages. Sterile if possible.” You say, you can’t tell if that sounds professional or not but they exchange glanses and the mohawk man leaves the room. You take another step over to the sofa. You need to know if the bullet has gone through or not.
“Not another step.” Gaz says. You hold your hands up again, holding your ground.
“I can’t help him if you don’t let me check him.” You say.
“Stand down Gaz.” You hear the voice behind you say. You don’t turn but you assume it’s the man with the mask. Gaz shifts gripping the weapon in his hands tighter.
“You won’t hurt him?” He asks, gritting his teeth.
“Cross my heart.” You say lowering your gaze, you keep your hands up until he moves out the way to join the man behind you. You look down at the man on the sofa. He’s unconscious, moans leaving his lips as shuffles on the sofa, his skin is clammy you can see the beads of sweat dripping down his face.
You lower your hands bending down by him. Your hand brushes over the bandages.
“I got water. Ghost, Gaz. Check your medkits for sterile bandages.” It’s the man with the accent.
Ghost. He must be the man with the mask. Gaz and Ghost.
A bowl of water is put down next to you. You look up at the mohawk man and nod at him. You’re still not sure what to do.
Clean the wound, asses the damage and get then fuck out of here.
There’s no exit wound. You’re not sure if that’s good or bad.
You replaced the bandages with gauze, homeostatic gaze, the good stuff you've only seen once or twice. The bleeding seems to be under control but that doesn’t help you if you don’t know how much he’s lost. His blood type is O+ that doesn’t help you either.
You try to remember things you’ve picked up from your parents. He’s breathing, responding to pain even though he's barely conscious. His pulse is as rapid as his breathing, again you don’t know if that's good or bad. You know it can’t be good but you’re not sure what to do.
You dip your hand back into the bowl of water and wring out the cloth before placing it on the man's forehead.
If he dies they’ll kill you. There is always someone behind you, you can hear them shuffle, move their weapon from hand to hand. If you tried to make a run for it they would kill you. Your best chance is to save this man. Save the enemy.
If he’s breathing, you’re safe.
You continue to make yourself look busy. Patting his forehead, keeping pressure on his wounds. He doesn’t seem to have any other injuries, just a gunshot to the abdomen.
“When were you going to tell us huh!?” The voice is loud and angry. You turn to see the man from earlier-Gaz storming towards you with a weapon in his hand. He only stops when the barrel is pressed to your head.
“What’s going on?” Ghost asks, his weapon is still trained on you from a distance.
“She’s Konni.” The man with the mohawk says. You look up at the man with the gun pressed to your head. You didn't even get a chance to get to your feet.
This is it. This is how you die.

It was the duty of an assistant to assist in all matters their employer may need — paperwork, errands, fetching things from near and far, but this mischievous feline took the role and ran with it, and you had no choice but to rewrite the definition of demanding when she had her way with the busy doctor.

The bottom of your shoes crunched over the fallen leaves scattered by the wind on the front steps of Zayne’s home, a soothing sound that caught the attention of your companion who watched with bright, wide eyes. “Pretty, isn’t it?” you asked, shifting your grip over the small body.
A small purr was your only answer, given the trail of a burnt amber leaf falling from the sky was far more interesting.
“Ah, there she is,” a voice called, muffled behind the wooden door. The handle clicked and swung inwards to reveal the source — Zayne. And to your surprise, he was dressed in his classic slacks and dark dress shirt, with his signature glasses perched on his nose. “Just when I thought you wouldn’t come back home.”
You scrunched your nose and furrowed your brow, indignant at the accusation. “It was only a small walk!” The bundle of fur in your arms: a fluffy, white kitten, agreed with you loudly — the mewl at the sight of her second favourite human made Zayne smile softly. “We missed you.”
“Is that so? I wouldn’t have imagined Jasmine could miss her second favourite.”
“Of course she did,” you replied, walking forward and taking the steps one by one. When you reached his tall figure in the doorway, you leaned in towards him and he gently kissed you on the lips before closing the door behind you.
The space that made up Zayne’s living room and adjacent kitchen was spotless as usual. A few pillows were misplaced on the couch — the touch of home your doing — and you raised a brow at the sight of a couple of small cat toys in a basket: a small mouse, a bell, and a stuffed toy that looked suspiciously like a macaroon. “You’ve been busy…”
Soft footfalls came up behind you, and the feel of his hands encircling your waist sent a shiver up your spine. “I only picked them up the other day. I thought she’d like them,” Zayne chuckled, his voice quiet in your ear.
The pad of his index finger traced up from your waist to your arm, and towards the kitten in your hands where it scratched the fur between Jasmine’s ears. A loud purr made the furry kitten’s whole body vibrate with the intensity. “Hello, you.”
Wordlessly, you maneuvered Jasmine and held her against Zayne’s chest, who stumbled back a step with a grunt of surprise. “Hmph–”
“C’mon, you said you had work or reports or something to do today and we’re here to keep you company.” The sound of your footsteps echoed in the large space, and you headed towards the kitchen for a warm drink. “She’s your assistant—she’ll be perfect to help you with them and whatever else you need to do.”
“...Very well.” Zayne followed behind you, his voice barely above a whisper while he cooed at the kitten.
You glanced over your shoulder to find Jasmine rubbing against the side of his face and up towards his ear. The contrast from the snowy-white fur of her coat and his raven hair only made you smile, and when Zayne caught your gaze, you witnessed how his hazel eyes held such adoration for the creature.
A smile tugged at your lips, and you gestured towards his office down the hall. “Well, chop chop! Get to it, that’s what she’s saying.”
“Assistants shouldn’t be so demanding,” he huffed, turning away from you to start walking towards his work.
“Just you wait.” The clink of your favourite mug and his far duller one against the countertop made you giddy with excitement — given the doctor’s sweet-tooth, he was always guaranteed to have acquired the best hot chocolate, and you busied yourself with preparing the two treats with a flourish.
With both mugs in hand a few moments later, you started to make your way towards his office, only you stopped short at the melodic sound of his voice.
“And here,” Zayne said quietly, “is where we put— No, stop it, you tyrant.” The sound of plastic scooting over the wooden surface of his desk was followed by a deep, regretful sigh. “You are so much like your mother. She’s a bad influence on you.”
You bit your lip to stifle your snort of laughter, and you leaned closer to the door, both mugs in hand and a book you snuck from his bookshelf held snug to your side by the crook of your elbow.
“Come here, little one,” he teased, and you heard the tap of a finger against something that rustled softly. “You can play with these instead, I need that pen.” The soft patter of paws followed his compromise, and an almost silent trill. “There you go.”
The temptation to peek was far too much to bear.
Slowly, you peered around the doorway and towards the window, where a large desk was placed. Shelves of files and books lined either wall, as well as small props and figurines were scattered about, livening the space with touches of personality.
On the desk, you could spy a photo frame by the monitor screen — one of the many photos you had insisted upon taking at the ski resort. It was one of your most favourite moments: seeing Zayne’s hair covered in snow while you held his face between your hands truly had been memorable.
A slight shuffle of footsteps brought your attention back to the matter at hand, and you struggled to keep quiet at the sight of Jasmine batting at Zayne’s wrist and shiny watch while he typed. Her small behind sat on the permitted stack of papers, while her even smaller, fluffier tail curled with her playful intent in time with the clicks of the keyboard.
You could see the minute movements of her head while she watched his fingers move, and before you could warn him of a potential attack, she pounced.
Zayne let out a noise of shock and froze — from his knuckles to his forearm was covered in the whole of Jasmine’s body, the white fur of her coat sticking to the black sleeve of his shirt like a second skin.
You couldn’t hold back the laughter any longer. “Oh no, she’s at it again.”
“Will you–?” he asked, his voice strained against the urge to laugh with you. “She’s a handful, just like someone else I know.”
“You poor thing.” The mugs fit perfectly on the coasters at his desk, and you leaned against the large desk drawers with your hip to take in the scene. “Asking me to take care of an unruly intern? Has the serious, frowning chief grown soft and sweet after so much sugar?”
The side-eye glare Zayne shot you made you almost buckle over in mirth — the glow of his eyes seemed to brighten with the taunt, and you dramatically wiped your cheek from pretend tears. “I can’t believe my eyes,” you breathed in awe — his admission truly astonishing.
“Just take her, please. And I will have this,” he said, deft fingers wrapping around the handle of his mug, “as my compensation. You should prepare more, for if I have to sue for damages…”
Your hand flew to your chest in mock offence. “How dare you! I run a tight ship with my assistants, it is not my fault that you can’t bear to tell her no.”
“Troublemaker.”
You sneered and poked his shoulder. “Grouch.”
From that moment on, the office was filled with the occasional chatter and whispers of taunts to the playful feline; bets of how many treats she would receive for distracting the other. The mugs had long been emptied and refilled several times, and you couldn’t help but feel content at being cosied up on the lounge chair Zayne placed in his working space just for you.
It truly felt as if the simple, unassuming piece of furniture had been in place for longer than it truly had been, but when he had surprised you with the gesture, you could recall just how you felt: the flutter of your heart in league with the butterflies in your stomach, as well as the love you held for him and the fact he noticed your need to be closer.
Over time, the couch had been broken in with many late nights reading books or binge watching a show with headphones, if the busy doctor couldn’t be disturbed.
Not to mention, the longer you stayed nestled into the cushions, the more suspiciously new blankets and pillows appeared. Your favourite was currently draped over your lap, the side of your hand that held your book resting on top of the crisp white plush fabric, whiter than snow. Light blue polka-dots were scattered in a carefree, artistic way, and you couldn’t help but pet over the soft areas with your palm absentmindedly.
Zayne swore he bought it purely for the reason of: “It matched what you described as my colours, darling.”
You rebuffed with the fact: “It looks like the snowman plushie on your desk.” The truth of that argument was discovered when a subtle tinge of pink moved from the tips of Zayne’s ears to his high cheekbones.
Sighing, you turned the page of your book, humming with content at the origin of your comfortable couch, when it happened.
“Jasmine.” Zayne’s tone was uncharacteristically sharp, and you looked up from the words of the page you were currently invested in.
The kitten, ever meddlesome, had wormed her way beneath the monitor and started to bat at the smaller cords that led from the screen and down the back of the desk. She didn’t listen, too engrossed in her mischief making.
Zayne rolled his eyes behind his glasses and reached out to wrap his hand around her middle. You couldn’t help the slight chuckle at the loud whine of protest that came from the kitten. “She’s just trying to help,” you insisted, though you failed to hide the amusement in your tone.
“She’s only causing trouble,” he grumbled, and he placed Jasmine on his chest, her paws pushing against the muscle there hard enough to wrinkle his once pristine shirt. His large hand pet down her back and held her bottom half so she wouldn’t fall. “Hm? Your only intention is to distract me and cause chaos.”
Jasmine’s pink nose bumped against the tip of Zayne’s.
“I know, you are cute, yes, little one,” he murmured, his free hand now moving the mouse of his computer. “But I have to get this done—afterwards we can play.”
The sight warmed your heart more than any hot chocolate could, and just when you thought it could not get any cuter, Zayne kissed the top of Jasmine’s head gently and placed her down on his desk closer to you. “Why don’t you bother your mother so I can get this done faster?”
You scoffed, but placed your book down, nonetheless. “Yeah, sure, use me as a scapegoat.” Jasmine tottered towards you, her ears perked forward at the sound of your voice, and you smiled at the little kitten. “C’mere, sweet girl.”
A comfortable silence stretched once more after Jasmine settled in your lap, her ears and nose twitching slightly as she investigated your book. Every now and then, you read a sentence aloud and watched with amusement as she looked up at you, curious as to the events of the story, no doubt.
“How can you be so sweet?” you asked her quietly, scratching her chin after she yawned.
“What a coincidence. I ask myself that every day about you. When you have the answer, do share,” Zayne mused aloud, his gaze homed in on the screen, though a slight smirk pulled at the visible corner of his lips.
The sudden heat of the room made you gaze at your lap shyly, but you couldn’t deny the swoop of your stomach at the sweetness of his words. “I eat too much sugar, that’s why,” you replied quietly, and he chuckled, shaking his head.
Time still seemed to slip by as you sat comfortably settled on the couch, Jasmine in your lap and the story evolving to be mysterious and full of turns. Though, the kitten had grown restless again, the absence of any ability to cause trouble while in your lap had gotten to her, and her patience began to wear thin.
You glanced from your book to Zayne, who was busy typing away on reports, his hazel eyes reading through line for line what care he provided to the patient, when it came to you — as an assistant, Jasmine was to be delegated important tasks to better the workload on her charge, which just happened to include the necessity for rest, and the dire need for laughter.
He always said your laughter could be the cure for all of his ailments…
The book closed quietly, and you moved to hold Jasmine with one hand, the kitten unusually still and cooperative as you maneuvered you both off of the couch.
“What are you up to?” Zayne asked suddenly, but his gaze did not shift from the screen.
You startled. “Uh– Nothing, I was just thinking of getting a snack…?” It was a flimsy excuse.
He only said a quiet, “Hm,” in reply before his typing resumed at the fast pace he was exceptional at. Only when you felt his focus was wholly back upon his reports, did you dare to move again. Your feet were silent over the floor as you padded towards his chair, your accomplice in hand — silent and ready to strike.
“I know you’re behind me, love.” The click of keys continued, nonplussed nor slowed in their rhythm.
It was time.
Jasmine let out a victorious mewl as you placed her upon her target, and you giggled as she wagged her tail.
Zayne made a choked sound of shock and indignation, ducking down at the sudden weight on the crown of his head — soft paws held fast, however, and she followed where he moved with a purr louder than ever before.
To say the sight was comical was understated. In the reflection of the monitor and the windows behind it, you saw Zayne’s expression turn from dumbfounded into playful annoyance, the curve of his grimace resembling more of a grin. The kitten was bright eyed once more and kneaded her paws into the black hair, tousling it from its normal neatness.
“Is this my assistant’s demand that it’s time for a break?” he asked, arching a brow while one of Jasmine’s paws slid from his mussed hair to his forehead, knocking his glasses askew and forcing his eye to close. The open one stared at you from the reflection of the monitor.
“It sure is, Doctor Zayne—we say it’s time for sweets.”
“Oh? It’s ‘we’ now?”
“I meant she says–” You backpedalled.
Zayne took off the crooked glasses and stood from his chair, turning around while one hand steadied the kitten on top of his head. “A good doctor always listens to the orders of his superior.” He kissed you on the lips and pulled away, laughing at the way Jasmine batted at your forehead. “Come on, before little miss becomes too unruly for being left out of any treats.”

The group fell into a heavy silence, the weight of your words sinking in as if the world itself had pressed down on your shoulders. It wasn’t just about stopping Omni-Man and Invincible or sending that crucial tip to the Guardians of the Globe—it was about surviving long enough to make any of it matter.
The irrefutable fact lingered in the back of everyone’s mind, unspoken but looming: you might be killed again.
Your stomach churned at the thought, the memory of your father’s hand crushing your skull replaying in vivid, excruciating detail. The sound, the pressure, the blinding pain—it haunted you in ways you couldn’t even articulate. And if not that, then what? Would it be a more horrific death this time? Burned alive? Torn apart?
You looked around the table, the same realization written on the faces of your friends. Hallie was biting her lip, staring blankly at the table as her fingers drummed nervously. Connor’s jaw was clenched, his fists curled tightly on his lap. Weston was silent, his expression unreadable, but his tired eyes betrayed him.
Finally, Weston broke the silence. “I’ll figure out how to send the tip,” he said, his voice quiet but resolute. His gaze shifted between each of you before landing back on his hands. “You guys focus on keeping our… other obligation in check.”
Shit. You’d completely forgotten about the Demogorgons. Those damn things hadn’t been on your radar for the past few days, but they were still out there, roaming the town, lurking in shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Judging by the groans and sighs from Connor and Hallie, they’d forgotten too.
“Everyone still has their things, right?” you asked, already mentally cataloging what you had at home.
Hallie sat up straighter, brushing her hair out of her face. “Got my pump action and bolt action in my trunk and in my closet,” she said, her voice steadier than her posture.
Connor leaned back, rubbing his temples. “Got ammo and a G-48, Haymitch's axe, and the machete,” he listed off, his tone bordering on exhaustion.
“I still have the smoke bombs and my dad’s rifle he thinks he sold,” Weston added, his voice low but firm.
You nodded, storing the information away. “Good. We’ll need all that and more.”
The silence that followed was thick with understanding. You’d fought these monsters before. You’d survived the impossible. But this time, it wasn’t just about survival. It was about holding the line, balancing the dual threats of the Demogorgons and the looming Viltrumite takeover.
"I say we prepare for the worst," you finally say, your voice cutting through the silence. "Stock up on ammo when you can, supplies, canned food, and whatever else we’ll need. We have to be ready in case everything goes to shit again, in case… in case what we do doesn’t work—"
“Don’t.” Connor’s voice cuts you off, sharp and sudden. “Don’t say that, (Y/n).”
You flinch at the rawness in his voice, the sheer force of his words.
“Connor—” you start, but he barrels forward, his frustration spilling over like a dam breaking.
“It has to work!” he says, his voice trembling. “It has to, or else—” He looks away, jaw tight, his hands clenching into fists. “Or else that means we fought for nothing. That means all those people who died—who are going to die—died for nothing. That means we came back for nothing.”
His words hang in the air, raw and painful. You feel them hit you like a punch to the gut.
Your lips press together tightly as you try to find something—anything—to say. Connor was always the "strong" one of the group, the silent type, the brash one who rarely let anyone see how deeply he felt things. He was the backbone, the shoulder everyone else could lean on when things got tough. Seeing him like this, unraveling, hurts more than you want to admit.
“I’m—I’m sorry, Connor,” you finally manage, your voice barely above a whisper.
“No, I’m sorry,” he mutters, his eyes watery as he scrubs at his face with the back of his hand. His voice cracks slightly as he continues, “You—you’re just doing what you always do, trying to keep us alive. I’m sorry.”
“Please don’t apologize, Con,” you say quickly, leaning forward slightly, trying to catch his gaze. “I—I get it. Really, I do.”
The tension around the table is palpable. Hallie and Weston exchange uneasy glances, their worry for Connor evident in the grim lines of their faces.
“Connor,” Hallie starts gently, her voice low and careful, “nobody’s saying what happened before will happen again, but—”
“I know,” he cuts her off, his voice quieter now, almost resigned. He lets out a shaky breath and sinks back in his seat, rubbing a hand over his face. “I know. But we have to consider the high chance it will.”
The stakes couldn’t be higher, and the thought of failing—of going through all of it again—was unbearable.
But you didn’t have a choice.
You glanced at each of them in turn, taking in their tired faces, the fear lingering in their eyes. They were your family, your only anchor in a world that felt increasingly impossible to navigate.
“We’ll make it work,” you say softly, your voice steady despite the storm inside you. “I don’t know how yet, but we will.”
You don’t know if they believe you, and honestly, you’re not even sure if you believe yourself.
Weston’s hand comes to rest on Connor’s shoulder, rubbing little circles in that gentle, soothing way he always did to calm the group down. It was such a Weston thing to do—he had always been physical with his care and affection, expressing his love in small touches and gestures that reminded you all you weren’t alone. You see Connor’s shoulders relax just slightly under Weston’s touch, though the tension doesn’t completely leave him.
You shift closer, moving to sit beside Connor, offering your silent presence as support. Across the table, Hallie slides her water bottle toward him, her brow furrowed in worry. “Here,” she says softly. Her voice doesn’t waver, but her eyes betray the depth of her concern. Connor takes the bottle with a small, muttered “thanks,” and sips from it, his gaze distant.
The weight of the moment settles over all of you, thick and suffocating. No one says anything for a while, and for a brief moment, the only sound is the distant hum of chatter from other tables in the courtyard.
Then the lunch bell rings, cutting through the stillness like a knife, signaling it’s time to go back to class. The sound sends a jolt through you, and you see the same dread reflected in everyone’s faces. None of you want to go. Yet, there was nothing you could do.
You all stand reluctantly, gathering your things in silence. Before you split up, you squeeze Connor’s shoulder gently, hoping it conveys what you can’t find the words to say. He offers a faint smile.
You walk into the crowded hallway, your mind scrambling as you try to recall your next class. What was it? You swear you knew just minutes ago, but now the information is gone, like a wisp of smoke slipping through your fingers.
You glance around desperately, hoping to recognize a familiar face, someone who might share the class with you. But the sea of students around you is a blur of faces you barely recognize. Who the hell are these people? You don’t remember their names, their voices, their stories. They’re strangers, even though you know you should know them.
Panic creeps up your spine as you weave through the hall, your breathing growing shallow. You’re losing it. You’re losing yourself, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it. The realization claws at you, sharp and unrelenting.
You hate this. You hate what this world, what this second chance, has reduced you to. What it’s reduced all of you to.
Your hands tremble as you tighten your grip on your bag, willing the shaking to stop, but it doesn’t. You pass classrooms, peeking inside, hoping something will click—a desk, a teacher, a face. But nothing does.
The hallways start growing emptier as students file into their classrooms, the bustling energy fading into a deafening quiet. You glance around, the panic tightening in your chest. Where the hell were you supposed to go?
Your mind scrambles, trying to latch onto something—anything—that will tell you your next class. The answer eludes you, slipping through your fingers like sand. You fumble with your phone, attempting to log into your student portal. At least that would show your schedule, right?
Except the password isn’t auto-saved. Of course, it isn’t.
You sit there staring at the login screen, willing your brain to remember your credentials, but nothing comes. It’s just another blank void. Great. Now you can’t even see your schedule, let alone your grades. Not that grades should be at the top of your concerns right now, but still, the thought gnaws at the back of your mind. You’re so screwed.
You lean against a row of lockers, the cold metal biting into your back as you let out a frustrated sigh. What the hell do I do now? Asking the front desk for help is out of the question. It’s the middle of the school year, and no one forgets their schedule this far in. It would raise questions. And why couldn’t you just look it up yourself? The idea of facing that judgment makes you cringe.
No, you can’t do that.
Instead, you resign yourself to staying in a random, empty hallway, slumping down against the wall. The quiet envelops you, a brief respite from the overwhelming noise in your head. You close your eyes for a moment, letting the silence settle around you. God, you didn’t realize how much your eyes were burning, how much your body ached.
The idea of just staying here, hidden and still, is so tempting. Maybe you could just chill here for a while. Yeah, that sounded nice. Just a little break.
You don’t realize how much time passes as you sit there, your mind drifting between the chaos of your thoughts and the exhaustion weighing you down. For a brief moment, you feel the smallest sliver of peace.
Until a voice shatters it.
“Playing hooky, (Y/n)?”
Your stomach drops. No. Not him. Not now.
Mark’s voice carries that unmistakable mix of smugness and sharpness, the tone that always made you want to squirm. “Tch, Mom and Dad are not going to be happy. Especially after the last meeting your counselor had about your little habit of skipping classes.”
You open your eyes, and there he is, standing over you with a smirk that makes you want to curl in on yourself. His eyes bore into yours, sharp and calculating, as if he’s dissecting you piece by piece.
“W-what? When did—oh shit,” you stammer, the memory hitting you like a brick. He’s talking about the meeting. You’d skipped a bunch of classes last semester to deal with the Demogorgons. Sure, you kept your grades up, but that didn’t stop the school from calling your mom. And to say she was upset was an understatement.
Mark’s smirk widens as he watches the realization dawn on your face. “Ah, there it is,” he says mockingly, leaning against the wall. “I’m sure Mom will love hearing about this. You know how she feels about second chances.”
You glare at him, the panic in your chest now mixed with frustration. “Mark, I—look, just don’t. Please.”
His expression softens, but only slightly. There’s still that edge to his voice, that unnerving mix of concern and menace. “Don’t what? Tell her? You’re not making this easy, you know. Skipping class, hiding out like this… It’s like you want her to freak out.”
“I just—” You falter, your words failing you. The exhaustion, the stress, the sheer overwhelming nature of everything—it’s all too much. You can’t think of a good excuse, and Mark’s gaze feels like it’s cutting through every lie you might try to tell.
He crouches down, leveling his eyes with yours. “What’s going on with you, (Y/n)?” he asks, his voice softer now but no less piercing. “You’ve been off. I know you’re not telling me everything.”
You look away, unable to meet his gaze.
Mark’s words linger in the air like a trap, waiting for you to fall in. “Are you depressed or something? Maybe it’s a boy? I don’t know, (Y/n), but something’s off. I know it is,” he says, his tone dripping with faux concern. “Just tell me. Tell your big brother, and I can make it go away.”
The irony of it all hits you like a freight train, and you can’t help it—you huff, then giggle, and then it all spirals out of control. A laugh bubbles out of you, wild and uncontainable, quickly escalating into full-blown hysterics. You’re wheezing now, clutching your sides, and you know you must look insane. Maybe you are. How could you not be?
It’s funny, really. The idea that he, Mark, could fix your problems. That he could “make it go away.” It’s laughable because a massive chunk of your problems is sitting right in front of you, watching you unravel with that same calculating smirk. How utterly absurd.
Your laughter devolves into choked breaths as your chest tightens painfully. The tears come next, hot and relentless, spilling down your cheeks. You’re sobbing now, loud and ugly, your body shaking uncontrollably.
Mark’s expression shifts, surprise flickering in his eyes. Then something darker takes hold—something intrigued, almost amused. He wasn’t expecting this, but oh, was he glad. He leans in closer, his lips curling into a softer smile. There was something seriously wrong with you. He knew it now. And that knowledge only made him more eager to figure out what had happened to his weak, adorable little sister.
“Oh, (Y/n),” he coos, his voice deceptively sweet as he cups your cheek with his large, warm hand. His thumb brushes against your tear-streaked skin, wiping away the evidence of your breakdown. His touch is firm but gentle, an unnerving mix of comfort and control.
You try to flinch away, your instincts screaming at you to get out of his grasp, but your body betrays you. Exhausted and overwhelmed, you slump into his hand, your head tilting slightly as if seeking solace. You hate it. You hate yourself for it. But you’re only human, and his warmth feels like the only anchor keeping you from completely spiraling.
“St-stop this,” you choke out between sobs, your voice barely audible. “Puh-please.”
Mark tilts his head, his expression almost mockingly innocent. “Stop what, (Y/n)?” he asks softly, his voice laced with feigned confusion.
“This,” you gasp, your voice trembling. “This—what you—you’re doing. Please, it—it isn’t fair.”
His hand doesn’t move from your cheek, and his thumb continues its slow, deliberate motion, wiping away fresh tears as they fall. His smile softens further, but his eyes remain sharp, predatory.
“Fair?” he echoes, as if tasting the word. “Oh, (Y/n). Life isn’t fair. You know that.” His voice drops lower, almost a whisper. “But you don’t have to worry about that. You don’t have to worry about anything. That’s what I’m here for.”
You shake your head weakly, your sobs growing quieter but no less intense. “You—”
He interrupts you gently, his voice soothing but utterly condescending. “Shh. Just let me take care of you.”
The words send a chill down your spine, the weight of his intent pressing down on you. You know there’s no escaping him now, not when he’s latched onto you like this. Not when he’s decided you’re his problem to solve, his little sister to protect—even if it means breaking you further in the process.
Mark’s gaze lingers on your trembling form, his hand still cradling your cheek. He studies you with a mix of curiosity and calculation, the wheels turning in his mind as he contemplates your place in all of this. Maybe he could make something useful out of you. Maybe you could be shaped into something worthy of the Viltrumite cause.
But as he takes in your tear-streaked face, the way your body shakes beneath his touch, he doubts it. You’re too weak. Too small. Too soft.
It’s almost pathetic how fragile you are, how human you are.
Still, the thought lingers—what if? What if you could prove yourself? What if, against all odds, you showed even the slightest potential? Perhaps then he could convince their father to keep you after the takeover. It would be difficult, of course. Nolan had little patience for weakness, and you were the embodiment of everything the Viltrumite race despised. But if you somehow managed to prove your worth, there was a chance.
Mark’s lips curve into a faint smile, the thought of sparing you for his mother’s sake bringing him a strange sense of satisfaction. You weren’t ideal offspring, no, far from it. But you were her daughter. Debbie would appreciate having you around, he’s sure of it, especially when their father inevitably takes her away from Earth to shield her from the chaos of their conquest.
“You’re lucky, you know,” Mark murmurs, his voice low and smooth. His thumb pauses for a moment, pressing lightly against your cheekbone as his eyes bore into yours. “If it weren’t for Mom, I wouldn’t even consider giving you a chance. But maybe… maybe you’ll surprise us.”
You blink at him, your chest tightening as his words sink in. “A-a chance? Mark, what are you—”
He cuts you off, his smile widening slightly, but there’s no warmth in it. “You’ll see,” he says cryptically, pulling his hand away and standing to his full height. His shadow looms over you, and for a brief moment, you feel like you’re shrinking under his gaze.
“Just remember, (Y/n),” he adds, his tone shifting to something colder, more deliberate. “This world isn’t kind to people like you. But you’re lucky to have me. I’ll make sure you don’t get left behind.”
The words feel like a promise and a threat all at once, leaving you frozen in place as he turns and walks away, his presence lingering long after he’s gone.
You’re left alone in the empty hallway, your breaths shaky and uneven, the weight of his intentions pressing down on you like a vice. Lucky, he said. But you don’t feel lucky. You feel trapped. And no amount of tears can wash that feeling away.
You sit there, slumped against the wall, trying to process what the hell Mark was talking about. “If it weren’t for Mom?” What does that even mean? Why would she have anything to do with whether Mark decided to “give you a chance?” What kind of chance was he even talking about?
Your mind spirals as you try to make sense of his cryptic words, the unease clawing at your insides. The idea that your mother somehow factored into whatever twisted plans Mark had for you only made the knot in your stomach tighten. What was he planning? What did he mean by not getting left behind?
Your thoughts race, one question bleeding into the next as panic wells up inside you. You can’t piece it together. You don’t have enough information. But the way he looked at you—the cold calculation behind his eyes, the way his words felt like a threat wrapped in false care—it makes your skin crawl.
You bury your face in your hands, your breathing shallow as your mind loops through the interaction. What the hell is going on?
Meanwhile, Mark is on his way out of the school building, his phone already in hand. He dials the familiar number, his expression cool and composed. The phone rings only twice before the unmistakable voice of his father, Nolan, answers.
“What is it?” Omni-Man’s voice is gruff, direct, as always.
Mark leans against the wall outside, his tone calm but tinged with a quiet urgency. “It’s about (Y/n),” he begins, cutting straight to the point. “There’s something off with her. More than usual.”
On the other end of the line, Nolan sighs. His voice is bored, disinterested. “Mark, your sister has always been like this. Emotional and a bit erratic. It’s nothing new.”
Mark clenches his jaw but keeps his tone steady. “No, Dad, this is different. She’s acting weird—like, really weird. Come’on, I’m sure you’ve noticed how she’s stopped constantly asking to go out with us? Or how everytime she looks at one of us, her heart rate always increases, hell, I could smell the adrenaline rush that gets triggered.”
Nolan’s silence stretches for a moment. “Dad, why is she having a fight or flight, fear response triggered, huh?”
“Of course I’ve noticed, Mark,” Omni-man sighs out. “If it’s worth worrying about, I’ll handle it. But until then, she’s just…” He pauses, and Mark can practically see the look on his father’s face. “She’s still a human.”
Mark exhales sharply, but he doesn’t argue. He knows better than to push Nolan when he’s like this. “Fine,” he says, his voice tight. “But if I find out something important, I’ll let you know.”
“Do that,” Nolan replies curtly, and the line goes dead.
Mark slips his phone back into his pocket, his expression unreadable. He’s not entirely satisfied with his father’s response, but he’s also not surprised. Nolan has never had much patience for what he considers “mundane human nonsense.” If (Y/n)’s behavior didn’t involve anything worthy of the Viltrumite cause, it simply wasn’t a priority to him.
Still, Mark can’t shake the feeling that there’s more to this than his father realizes. And if Nolan won’t take it seriously, then Mark will.

BFS - My Best Friend’s Sister - Vi x F!Reader
wc: 4.6k
cw: none, i think.
notes: uhm, i got a little carried away with this one 🤡
anyway, thank you for the request, hope you enjoy! ⋆˚✿˖°
The first time I met Jinx, I had no idea my life was about to change in ways I couldn’t even imagine. We met on the very first day of high school. My first impression of her? The bright blue hair, of course—it was impossible to miss—and the fact that she was insanely smart, like should-have-skipped-high-school-and-gone-straight-to-college smart. Her intelligence wasn’t just impressive; it ended up saving my skin more times than I can count.
One of those times was during our first biology project. The teacher paired us together, and Jinx offered to work on it at her house. She mentioned that her dad wasn’t home and her sister would probably be out late because of basketball practice. It worked perfectly for me because my house was not an option.
So, off to Jinx’s house we went. She lived in this quirky, mismatched house attached to her dad’s bar. The second I stepped into her room, I knew I was in a completely different world. The walls were covered in her sketches—like, really good sketches—and there were mechanical parts scattered around from her various projects. It wasn’t messy, though; it was… creative chaos. Her room had so much personality, like every inch of it told a story about her.
We dove into the project and worked on it for hours. Time flew by so quickly I didn’t even realize how late it had gotten until her sister came home. And wow—Vi. That was her name, as I later learned. She was two years older than us and looked incredible in her basketball uniform. She had this effortless confidence about her, like she didn’t even have to try to be cool.
“Who’s this?” Vi asked Jinx, tossing her hair back casually and wiping her forehead with the bottom of her jersey. The motion gave me a quick glimpse of her abs under the loose uniform, and—wow—I definitely wasn’t prepared for that.
“Oh, this is Y/N,” Jinx said before I could even attempt to respond. “She’s in my bio class. We were working on a project, but she’s about to head out.”
I was grateful Jinx stepped in because, honestly, I felt like I’d forgotten how to speak. Vi was… hypnotizing. The way she stood there, so effortlessly cool, it made my cheeks heat up instantly. I was pretty sure I wasn’t drooling, but the tightness in my chest told me I was one awkward moment away from embarrassing myself.
“H-Hi,” I managed to mutter, giving her a tiny, shy wave. My voice cracked slightly, which only made me want to crawl under a rock.
Vi’s lips curled into a teasing smile as she crossed her arms, leaning casually against the doorframe. “Hi,” she replied, her voice warm but laced with playful sarcasm. “Nice to meet one of my sister’s friends. First one, in fact.”
“Hey!” Jinx protested, rolling her eyes. “I have friends.”
Vi raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. “Sure you do.” Then, turning back to me, she added, “You must be special. Jinx doesn’t usually invite people over. Did she bribe you with snacks or something?”
I laughed nervously, still hyper-aware of her presence. “No snacks, just… science, I guess.”
Vi chuckled, the sound low and almost musical, and it sent a weird flutter through my chest. “Well, don’t let her scare you off. She might be a pain, but she’s harmless.”
“Gee, thanks,” Jinx muttered sarcastically, tossing a pillow in Vi’s direction. Vi caught it with ease, smirking before tossing it back onto Jinx’s bed.
“Anyway,” Vi said, straightening up, “it was nice meeting you, Y/N. Don’t be a stranger, okay?”
I nodded, still feeling like I was stuck in some kind of surreal dream. “Nice meeting you too,” I mumbled, trying not to sound as flustered as I felt.
As Vi turned to leave, she glanced back over her shoulder with a playful wink, and my heart practically stopped. Once she was gone, I let out a breath I didn’t realize I’d been holding.
“So,” Jinx said, breaking the silence with a sly grin, “you’re blushing.”
“What? No, I’m not!” I protested quickly, though the heat radiating from my face told a different story.
“Oh, you so are,” she teased, leaning back in her chair and folding her arms. “Don’t worry, you’re not the first person to fall for Vi’s charm. She has that effect on people.”
“Great,” I muttered under my breath, feeling more embarrassed by the second.
──────────────────────
From that day on, I made every excuse possible to go to Jinx’s house. Studying for a test? Jinx’s house. Working on a project? Jinx’s house. Binge-watching the new show we both got into? Definitely at Jinx’s house.
And don’t get me wrong—it wasn’t just because of Vi (though Jinx would totally argue otherwise). I genuinely loved being there. Jinx’s house had this warmth to it, a chaotic but comforting energy that made me feel like I belonged. After I met Vander, Jinx’s dad, the place felt even more like a second home. Vander was the kind of guy who made everyone feel welcome. He’d always crack a joke or offer food, and he treated me like I was part of the family from the start.
But… yeah. My crush on Vi? It only got worse. I found myself lurking in hallways or hanging around the kitchen, hoping to catch even a quick glimpse of her. Every time I saw her, I tried to muster up the courage to start a conversation. The problem was, as soon as I opened my mouth, my brain seemed to short-circuit.
One morning, after a sleepover at Jinx’s, I went downstairs to grab a glass of water. I wasn’t expecting to see anyone, but there she was standing in the kitchen in sweatpants and a sports bra making breakfast.
“Good morning,” Vi said, her voice casual as she kept her eyes on the pan in front of her. “Do you want breakfast?”
For a second, I forgot how to form words. “Oh, uh—if it’s not a bother, yeah, I’d like some,” I managed to say, grabbing a glass of water and sitting at the kitchen table.
The silence between us grew heavier by the second as she scrambled eggs, and I couldn’t think of a single thing to say. My mind was blank—well, except for the part of me panicking about how awkward I probably looked. Desperate to fill the silence, I blurted out the first thing that popped into my head.
“Did you know that eggshells have, like, 17,000 pores?”
Vi froze for a moment and slowly turned to look at me, one eyebrow raised, like I’d just sprouted a second head. “Uh… no. I didn’t know that.”
“Yeah,” I said weakly, feeling my face heat up. “Fun fact, I guess.”
She gave me a small, amused smile and went back to cooking. But the damage was done—I was mortified. From that day on, I vowed to never start a conversation with Vi unless someone else was there to save me from myself.
Of course, I made the mistake of telling Jinx about the whole thing. She laughed so hard I thought she might pass out, and for the next week, she didn’t let me live it down. Every time we hung out, she’d drop random egg facts just to tease me.
“Hey, did you know an ostrich egg can support the weight of a grown man?” she’d say, smirking.
Or: “Apparently, chickens can lay blue eggs. Do you think Vi would be impressed if you told her that?”
──────────────────────
During our sophomore year, my crush on Vi only grew worse. I didn’t miss a single one of her basketball games—not one. Did I know anything about basketball? Absolutely not. I couldn’t even follow the rules half the time. But it didn’t matter. Watching her on the court, seeing her light up whenever she scored, and that radiant smile she wore when her team won—it was enough to keep me coming back.
Of course, I dragged Jinx along to every game. She didn’t care much for sports and made a point of complaining loudly about how boring it was, but I think deep down she knew why I was so invested. “You’re hopeless,” she’d say with a smirk whenever I got flustered after Vi waved at us from the court.
The best part, though, was after the games. Vi always made a point to come over and talk to us. Well, to Jinx mostly, but she’d smile at me, too, and ask me questions like, “What did you think of the game?” or “Did you see that last play?” And every time, I’d stumble through some vague answer because honestly, I’d been too busy staring at her to pay attention to the game itself.
Being around her made me so happy. Just those small moments of acknowledgment, those little smiles and casual conversations, were enough to keep my heart racing for days. But deep down, I knew the truth: Vi only saw me as Jinx’s younger friend. A little sister, at best. She’d made that painfully clear on multiple occasions.
Once, when we were all hanging out after a game, someone jokingly suggested that I had a crush on Vi. I don’t even remember who said it—maybe one of her teammates—but I remember how Vi laughed it off immediately. “Oh, Y/N? She’s like a kid sister,” she said with a grin, ruffling my hair like I was some kind of puppy.
It stung, but I tried to play it off, laughing along even as my chest tightened. I told myself it didn’t matter. Having her in my life at all, even as a friend or honorary sibling, was better than nothing. But the truth was, every time she called me “kid”, it felt like a gentle reminder of how impossible my feelings for her really were.

After Vi moved to college, I knew I had to let go. The multiple reminders that she only saw me as a kid—Jinx’s best friend who told weird egg facts—played on a loop in my head. I told myself it was time to move on, to stop clinging to a fantasy that would never happen. But trying to move on was so much harder than I expected.
I started looking for pieces of her in everyone I met. Every girl I got to know, every potential crush—I couldn’t help but compare them to Vi. How a girl would act a certain way, and the first thing I’d think was, “Vi would never do that.” Or if someone treated me poorly, I’d find myself muttering, “Vi would never treat me like that.” It wasn’t fair to anyone, but it was like she’d set this impossible standard that no one else could meet.
I’d only see her during winter break when she came home for the holidays. And every time, I’d convince myself that I was over her. I’d spent months trying to push her out of my heart, convincing myself that I was ready to move on, that I’d grown out of the crush. But then she’d walk through the door, her hair tied back, that easy smile on her face, and all those carefully constructed walls I’d built would come crashing down.
The feelings would flood back, twenty times stronger than before. It was like no time had passed, like I was still the same lovesick kid who couldn’t even hold a conversation with her without blurting out the first time that came to mind.
It became a painful loop. I’d spend most of the year trying to heal, trying to forget her, only for everything to unravel the second I saw her again. Seeing her with new eyes—older, more confident, and more out of reach than ever—made it even harder. She’d tell us about college, about her team and the new people she’d met, and I’d smile and nod like I wasn’t aching inside.
Jinx, of course, noticed. She always did. “You’re still hung up on her, aren’t you?” she asked me one night, not unkindly.
I didn’t even bother denying it. “It’s not like I can help it,” I said, shrugging helplessly. “It’s just… her.”
Jinx sighed, shaking her head. “You’re gonna have to let her go someday, you know.”
“I know,” I whispered. But knowing didn’t make it any easier.
It wasn’t just a crush anymore. It was a pattern, a piece of me that I couldn’t seem to shake. No matter how hard I tried to move on, Vi had become this impossible figure in my life—someone who I loved deeply but knew I could never have. And every time she left again for college, I’d start the process all over, trying to forget her, trying to move forward, only to be thrown right back into the same cycle when she came home.
──────────────────────
Senior year was chaotic. Between applying for colleges, writing essays, and preparing for exams, Jinx and I barely had time to hang out. But at least we were both focused on our futures. Amid all the stress, though, something good did happen: a new transfer student arrived at our school in the second trimester. Her name was Ava. She was tall, athletic, and impossibly chatty.
Ava was different, she was the kind of person who could talk to anyone and make them feel at ease. It wasn’t long before the three of us were inseparable, hanging out together whenever we could. By the time we finally had a breather, it was almost Christmas, and things had shifted. Ava and I had started dating. We hadn’t officially gone out on a date yet, but with classes winding down, we finally had the chance to.
But just when things seemed to be falling into place, Vi came home for the holidays. I hadn’t seen her in months, and I’d convinced myself that I was over her, that I had moved on. But the second I walked into her house, I saw her standing there, and all those feelings I thought I’d buried rushed back like a tidal wave.
She was leaning against the doorway, effortlessly cool in a casual outfit, talking to Jinx. She laughed at something Jinx said, and the sound of her laughter hit me like a punch to the gut. I froze, just watching her, telling myself over and over that I was with Ava now, that I was past this. But seeing Vi again made it feel like I hadn’t moved on at all.
She turned and caught my eye, her smile softening as she waved. “Hey, kid,” she said, her voice light and teasing, the same as always.
I waved back, trying to mask the rush of emotions flooding through me. “Hey,” I replied with a smile, turning to Jinx for a distraction. “Are you free to help me with my outfit for my date?” I asked, pretending that everything was normal, even though my heart was doing flips.
Jinx grinned, her eyes glinting with mischief. “Date night, huh? Sure, I’ve got you covered.” She shot a playful glance at Vi before pulling me toward her room.
As I followed Jinx down the hall, I couldn’t help but notice the way Vi’s gaze lingered on me for just a moment too long. Maybe I was imagining it, but part of me wondered if she had noticed my discomfort, my attempt to shield myself from the rush of emotions that still tied me to her.
Once we were safely in Jinx’s room, I let out a breath I didn’t realize I’d been holding. “I’m fine,” I muttered, trying to convince myself as much as Jinx.
“You sure about that?” Jinx asked with a knowing smile. “I’ve seen that look before. You’re definitely not fine.”
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. “I’m just… trying to keep it together. I thought I was over her, you know? But the second I saw her again…”
“Yeah, I get it,” Jinx said softly, her voice carrying an understanding I hadn’t expected. “Listen, before you get into this relationship with Ava, I think you should talk to Vi. I know you think she’s this impossible person to reach, but you’ve liked her for so long, and you deserve to know where you stand. Give it a shot, at least. You have my blessing, you know.”
“I’ll think about it, okay?” I said, pushing the thoughts aside as I pulled a few outfits out of my bag, trying to distract myself with the decision of what to wear for my date.
The night passed in a blur, but on my way home, Jinx’s words echoed in my mind. It wasn’t fair to Ava. I was starting something with her, and yet I couldn’t shake the weight of my feelings for Vi. How could I be with someone when my heart was still stuck in the past? Maybe Jinx was right—maybe I owed it to myself, and to Ava, to talk to Vi and finally face whatever was left unsaid between us.
What did I have to lose? Next year, I’d be moving out and I’d never have to face this awkward tension again. But if I kept pretending, kept pushing my feelings aside, would I ever really be able to move on?
It was hard to ignore the familiar ache in my chest, the one that seemed to tighten every time I thought of Vi. But Jinx was right about one thing: I couldn’t keep dragging Ava into something if I wasn’t emotionally available. It wasn’t fair to her. I needed to know, once and for all, if there was something left between Vi and me.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized I was running out of time to make that choice. If I didn’t talk to Vi now, I might never get the chance. So, what was stopping me? Fear? The same fear that had held me back all these years?
──────────────────────
I texted Ava, asking if she could come over earlier than we had planned. I had made up my mind—she should be the first person I talked to. If I was going to sort through this mess of emotions, I needed to be honest with her, no matter how hard it felt. As nervous as I was, deep down, I knew that what I was doing was the right thing.
When I heard the soft knock on the door, my heart jumped into my throat. Taking a deep breath, I opened it.
“Hi,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady. Ava stood there, her tall frame filling the doorway, her face puzzled but kind. Her brown eyes searched mine, like she could sense something was off.
“Hey,” she said slowly. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah... well, no,” I admitted, stepping aside to let her in. “Do you wanna come in so we can talk?”
Ava hesitated for a moment, then nodded, stepping inside. She followed me to the living room, where we sat across from each other on the couch. The air between us was thick with unspoken tension.
“What’s going on?” she asked, her voice soft but direct.
I swallowed hard, clasping my hands together to keep them from shaking. “Ava, you’ve been nothing but amazing. You’re funny, kind, and so easy to be around. But... I don’t think I’ve been fair to you.”
Her brows furrowed, and she tilted her head slightly. “What do you mean?”
I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of my words before they left my lips. “When we started talking, I thought I was ready. I thought I was over... someone from my past. But seeing them again recently made me realize that I’m not. And it’s not fair to you to start something when I’m still trying to sort through those feelings.”
Ava’s expression softened, but I could see the flicker of disappointment in her eyes. “So... this person, they’re the reason you’ve been hesitant with me?”
I nodded, guilt twisting in my chest. “I didn’t mean to let it get this far without telling you. I really like you, Ava, and I didn’t want to hurt you. But I need to be honest—with you and with myself. I can’t give you what you deserve if I’m still stuck on someone else.”
She was quiet for a moment, processing what I’d said. Then she let out a small, humorless laugh. “Well, at least you’re honest about it. I can’t say it doesn’t hurt, but I appreciate you telling me now instead of dragging it out.”
“I’m so sorry,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
“It’s okay,” she replied, though I could tell it wasn’t. “You’re doing the right thing. And for what it’s worth, I hope you figure it out—whatever it is you need to do. You deserve to be happy too.”
Her words hit me harder than I expected, and for a moment, all I could do was nod. We sat there in silence for a little while longer before Ava stood up to leave.
As I walked Ava to the door, she turned back and gave me one last hug. It was warm, yet it carried a bittersweet finality. "Take care of yourself, okay?" she whispered before stepping away.
I stood at the doorway, watching her retreat down the sidewalk, the weight of the conversation still pressing on my chest. But just as Ava disappeared around the corner, I noticed someone else walking toward me.
Vi.
Her flushed cheeks and uneven breathing told me she had been running. Her hair was slightly disheveled, and there was a look in her eyes I couldn’t quite place—somewhere between urgency and worry.
“Am I too late?” she asked, her voice breathless as she approached me.
“Too late for what?” I asked, utterly confused. What was she doing here? Why did she look so distressed?
She paused at the bottom of the steps, hands on her knees as she caught her breath. When she stood upright again, her eyes met mine, and I saw something there I hadn’t seen before. “Yesterday, after you left, I talked to Jinx and my dad...”
Her words hung in the air, unfinished, and I felt my heartbeat quicken.
“Okay... and?” I prompted, unsure where she was going with this but unable to ignore the flicker of hope rising in my chest.
Vi rubbed the back of her neck, her usual confidence faltering. “Jinx told me everything,” she admitted, her voice quieter now. “About how you’ve felt... for years.”
My stomach dropped. “She what?”
“She told me,” Vi repeated, taking a tentative step closer. “At first, I didn’t believe her. I mean, how could I? I always thought you just saw me as... Jinx’s annoying older sister.” She let out a nervous laugh. “But the more she talked, the more I realized how blind I’ve been. I guess I just didn’t want to see it.”
I was frozen, my mind spinning. “Vi, I—”
“Wait,” she interrupted, holding up a hand. “Let me finish.” She stepped onto the porch, now standing just a few feet away from me. “After I talked to Jinx, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I talked to my dad too, and he basically told me the same thing Jinx did—that I’ve been an idiot for not noticing what was right in front of me.”
Her words hit me like a wave, and I struggled to process them. “Vi, what are you trying to say?”
She took another step closer, her expression softening. “I’m saying that I might’ve been blind before, but I’m not anymore. And if there’s even a chance that I haven’t completely screwed this up... I want to try.”
My breath caught in my throat. “Try what?”
“You and me,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “If you still feel the same way, I want to see where this goes. I know I’ve probably hurt you by being clueless all these years, and I’m sorry for that. But I don’t want to miss this chance. Not anymore.”
I stared at her, my heart racing. This was everything I had ever wanted to hear, but it felt almost too good to be true.
“Vi...” I started, my voice trembling. “You don’t have to say this just because Jinx told you. I don’t want you to feel pressured—”
“I’m not,” she cut me off firmly. “This is me, finally realizing that I’ve been pushing away something—someone—who means more to me than I ever let myself admit. So, what do you say?”
Her eyes searched mine, filled with a mix of vulnerability and hope, and for a moment, all the words I could’ve said vanished from my mind. Talking had never been my strong suit anyway, and I knew there was only one way to show her exactly how I felt.
I took a deep breath, closed the small gap between us, and kissed her.
The world seemed to freeze for a second. Her lips were soft, and the warmth of her touch was more grounding than I ever imagined it could be. For a heartbeat, I worried she might pull away, that maybe I’d misunderstood her words or her intentions. But then, she kissed me back, her hands gently resting on my waist, pulling me closer.
Every emotion I had bottled up for years seemed to pour into that kiss—every moment of longing, every glance I had stolen, every dream I thought would never come true. And now, here she was, holding me as if I’d always belonged there.
When we finally pulled apart, her forehead rested against mine, both of us catching our breath. She chuckled softly, her voice warm and teasing. “I guess that’s one way to answer.”
I smiled, still too overwhelmed to form a coherent sentence. “Words aren’t really my thing,” I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
“They don’t have to be,” she said, her hand brushing a strand of hair from my face. “That was pretty clear.”
──────────────────────
And that’s how I find myself today—married to the love of my life, Vi, with two beautiful daughters who are the perfect mix of chaos and joy. Sometimes, when I look at her across the dinner table or watch her playing basketball with the girls in the driveway, I can’t help but wonder how different things could have been.
If Jinx hadn’t told Vi about my feelings, would I have ever found the courage to tell her myself? Would we have gone our separate ways, lost to time and distance, living entirely different lives? Would destiny have been kind enough to let us meet again later in life? And even if it had, would the outcome have been the same?
I think about it often—how fragile our connection once seemed, teetering on the edge of a confession that might never have come. It’s a reminder of how one brave moment, one nudge in the right direction, can change everything.
Jinx, of course, loves to remind me that she’s the reason for my happiness. “You owe me big time,” she says with a grin every time the story comes up. And honestly, she’s not wrong. If it weren’t for her meddling—or as she calls it, genius matchmaking—I might not be sitting here today, surrounded by the family I never dreamed I could have.
But destiny, as unpredictable and wild as it is, seemed to have a soft spot for us. It gave me the love of my life, someone who challenges me, grounds me, and loves me unconditionally. And while the what-ifs might linger in my mind from time to time, I know one thing for sure: I wouldn’t change a single moment of our journey.
Because every twist, every hesitation, every step forward brought us here—to this messy, beautiful life we’ve built together. And I couldn’t ask for anything more.

bestie do you happen to know of you could find it in your heart to write for my FAV senior citizen. Silco. (I MISS HIM)
The tiktok ban has made me deprived. Please let me know at your earliest convenience. I will now go back to fighting my demons and missing my shayla. (I hope you are having a good day!)
YOUR DAD’S KINDA HOT… - SILCO X READER
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis: you've been friends with Jinx for years now, you're a few years older than her but you two are as thick as thieves. So don't ask how this conversation came up… you have no idea.
warnings: age gap (silco’s like late 30s to early 40s, reader is early 20s), teasing, banter (jinx makes fun of you), overheard conversations, fear of discipline, flirting, suggestiveness
genre: m/f or m/m
p.s. SILCOOOOO 😩😍 I've been down bad since S1 but people would jump down your throat if you said anything about him. The art book definitely spoiled us
Tumblr media
You have no idea how your conversation took this turn. Here you are, sitting with Jinx as she works on her bombs in her little lair, having a good time when all of a sudden she asks, “Do you think Silco is hot?”
A sputter is heard as you cough and thump your chest, trying to unchoke yourself from your drink going down the wrong pipe.
“What?!” your voice is whiny in incredulous. No seriously… what?! Where did that come from?!
Jinx casually shrugs, “I won’t be mad y’know. You're not very subtle, just tell the truth toots.”
Your lips thin in contemplation. I mean… you’re not blind? You have eyes? Should you honestly tell his daughter that you think he's attractive?
Jinx appreciates honesty, and loyalty; the same as her dad. She's your best friend, you've never lied to her. And you're not gonna start now.
Even if it’s an uncomfortable topic.
You sigh, face scrunching up is displeasure, “Yes Jinx. I think your dad is hot… I’m not blind, duh.”
She cackles at you, “Seriously?! You could have any guy ya want, and you go for him, my old man?! Finn’ll be heartbroken.”
“He can stay heartbroken! I've got much a finer taste than… that. Silco’s strong, level-headed, and handsome. He values honesty and loyalty. Finn’s… Finn.”
Jinx’s reply is cut off by a deeper voice, “That you do my dear, that you do. Jinx, continue working on your bombs. The ones I see so far are perfect. You, come with me.”
It’ Silco.
Fuck, it’s Silco!
You gulp as Jinx just smiles at the praise, you slowly raise from your seat and follow the kingpin. A frantic look is shot Jinx’s way as you mouth “Help me!”
Jinx giggles at you and winks. You'll be getting no help from her. She's taken too much time planning this moment, she's not letting all her hard work go to waste!
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
The walk back to Silco’s office is tense, you're tempted to jump out a window and hopefully die in the fall to escape this cloying feeling.
It’s too late, you're doomed.
Is your only thought as Silco opens the doors to his office, ushers you in, and locks the doors behind him. You're trapped with a lion, and you’re nothing but a beetle.
He's gonna kill you.
“Sit.” Is all he says as he walks to his drink cart and pours you both two fingers of bourbon. You sit down immediately and fidget lightly. Ok… so maybe he's not going to kill you.
Yet.
He plops a cup into your hand and gracefully walks around his desk and sits down. He's not wearing his coat you realize. His shirt sleeves are rolled up to his forearms and you get to see how tiny his waist is.
God he so hot.
In your appreciation of Silco, you don't see him take a swig of his drink and look you over as well. Hmm, looks like you were telling the truth.
Time to make things interesting.
“So, you find me attractive?”
You gulp looking down to your lap as you quickly bring your glass up to your lips and take a large swig, “Yes sir.”
“Hmm. How curious, you find a man old enough to be your father attractive. What's that say about you?”
“It says I prefer things that have aged finely. Like how you feel about this burboun.”
Silco chuckles, you’re quick. Smart as a whip. Loyal. Honest. Attractive.
He's noticed you for a while now, always on his radar due to Jinx. He appreciate’s your care for his daughter, how you’re with her constantly and protect her. He knew you as a teen, he knew you'd grow up into a attractive adult.
He knew he’d be right.
He knew that you have denied all advances made on you. No partner, no romantic or sexual relationships. The main reason why he knows that is you essentially live with him and Jinx.
He knows how you've looked at him over the years, ignoring their heat. But now… you're an adult. You've finally admitted your attraction.
He's going to take what’s rightfully his.
He's going to see what you've been hiding under your clothes, he's going to take you apart piece by piece. He's going to have you on his desk, his bed, in front of the large window in his office. He's going to feel your lips, how soft your skin is. How nice your hair would feel in his grip.
(You’re going to deeply enjoy it.)
(The two of you hope Jinx won’t be hiding in the office in the rafters as her dad devours you.)
(She wasn’t, thankfully. But she did have a knowing look on her face for like a week.)
(She still pats herself on the back to this day.)
Tumblr media
He's a bad man but fuck is he hot! Hope y’all enjoyed this ❤️❤️ also I think the US has tiktok again? I saw the sad goodbyes last night, no Americans this morning on the app, then I took a nap and creators from the US were posting again?? I was so lost LMAO

Danny opened his front door to find his two best friends on the other side, both with overnight bags. “Hey, sleepover!” Danny greeted happily.
“Sleepover!” Sam and Tucker agreed as Danny ushered them in. He'd just finished gathering all the supplies for a blanket fort, his old PS4 already set up and waiting for them to pick a game.
“I've already got pizzas on the way,” Sam said as she dropped her bag next to the couch, its cushions in a pile on the floor.
“Did your parents say where they were going? This weekend trip seems pretty sudden.” Tucker set his bag down next to Sam's.
“Not really,” Danny replied, already back to setting up the blanket fort. “It was pretty sudden though, usually they give more than a day's warning. Just ‘Bye Danny, have a good weekend’ and hopped in the GAV.”
“Probably some conference they just learned about,” Sam said with an eye roll.
“I dunno, they actually keep pretty on top of those, usually can't shut up about them in the weeks leading up.”
“Someone spotted Mothman over by Lake Eerie,” Tucker said with a sage nod.
Sam and Danny snickered at the suggestion. It didn't take long to finish setting up the blanket fort, the pizza and soda arriving not long after. They all changed into comfy clothes and laid out on the pile of blankets Danny had raided the linen closet and everyone's beds for.
It was later in the evening before Tucker brought it up again. “What's the GAV doing in Jersey?”
“Jersey?” Danny asked with a wrinkled nose. “Oh no!”
“Oh no what?” Sam asked absently, lining up a headshot
“What part of Jersey?” Danny dropped his controller and leaned over to look at Tucker's tablet.
“Looks like… Metropolis?”
“Shit, they're in Gotham!” Danny got up and went running off. He came back with a pair of shoes he was hurriedly trying to put on while hopping around on one foot.
“What's in Gotham?” Sam asked, “And why didn't they bring me?”
“The dead Robin!” Danny finally managed to get a shoe on, but the other had vanished somewhere along the way.
“What?” Both his friends asked in clear confusion.
“You know how weird they've been about me being a ghost? Oh, there it is! Anyway, they got some kind of ghost marriage ceremony inspo and when they asked me who I wanted to marry I sarcastically said the dead Robin.”
Sam started laughing.
“This isn't funny! They're probably chasing down Batman right now to ask him to marry me to his dead son.”
“Shit,” Sam murmured, suddenly not laughing.
“Yeah,” Tucker agreed.
“So I gotta go bring them home before they torpedo any hope I have of joining the Justice League!”
“I still don't see why you're so hung up on them,” Sam said dismissively.
“How else am I gonna get into space?” Danny asked. “Anyway, I'm off!” He transformed and leapt out of the house, racing for New Jersey.
✨️🌟✨️
It took a while to get to Gotham, find the GAV with his tracking app, and then find where his parents were because they weren't in the GAV. They were on a rooftop nearby. Having a showdown with a very tense looking Batman.
Fortunately there was a fire escape with a ladder up to the roof. Danny dropped onto it, transformed, and just lifted up to right under the roof's edge. He poked his head up and yelled, “Mom! Dad!”
They both looked over and smiled, waving. “Danny, we didn't expect to see you here.”
“Danno look! We found this Batman guy!”
Danny hauled himself up onto the roof and ran over to his parents. “Oh my god, I can't believe you two!” He grabbed their hands and started dragging them away from the vigilante. “I was being sarcastic, stop embarrassing me in front of one of the founding members of the Justice League!”
“Aw, Danny! There's nothing embarrassing about love!”
“I'm not in love, I've never even met the guy!”
“Your mother's right, why look at us, son!”
“Still not in love! And even if I were, I'm sixteen! That's way too young to get married!” They were almost to the edge of the roof now, thankfully his parents weren't really resisting his incessant pulling.
“But Danno,” Jack started to say.
“I'm not even done with high school yet! I'd rather focus on that right now.”
“Danny, is finishing high school your lingering attachment?” Maddie seemed touched, cooing over her baby boy.
“Yeah, sure, my tanked grades caused sooooo much unrest. Can we just go home now?”
“Sure, Danny. We can help you with your homework and everything.”
Danny gave a sigh of relief as his parents started down the ladder on their own. They would probably hyperfixate on his grades a little too much, but so long as he passes Danny really doesn't care. He turned and waved at Batman, “Sorry my parents bothered you, they can be a bit dense sometimes.” Then he hopped down to the fire escape and started herding his parents down, resigned to spending the next while stuck in the GAV with them to make sure they actually went home.
✨️🌟✨️
The comms exploded with chatter the moment the teenager disappeared over the roof.
“Wow, Hood, your future husband sure has spunk!”
“I like him already, we should go welcome him into the family.”
“Fuck off, I'm not dating a high schooler!”
“New brother-in-law.”
“Hood and Danny, sitting in a tree!🎶”
“I approve of your betrothed. Just keep your displays of obnoxious affection behind closed doors.”
“Fuck you too, demon brat!”
“Aaaaww… Little Wing! No need to be so embarrassed!”
“I'm hurt you kept your boyfriend from us!”
“When's the wedding? I'll clear my schedule.”
“Fuck you guys, I'm turning my comms off.”
“You think I'll let you? Take your teasing like a man, Hood!”
“Et tu, Oracle?”
Accidental Arranged Marriage AU (v1)
After a reveal gone... weird, the Fentons believe Danny is dead and haunting them and is in denial when he claims to be half alive. They mourn him, and maybe even blame themselves and their research for causing him to become a ghost rather than dying properly.
But he is still their son, and they can't bear to hurt him, so they instead turn to superstitions and traditions from other cultures to try to get him to "move on" or "appease his restless spirit" or "put him at rest."
(Danny is actually eating better than ever now that his parents are regularly leaving out offerings of food at his altar.)
Eventually they come across the ancient Chinese practice of ghost marriage and decide to give it a shot. Maybe Dann-o can't move on because he died single, right? According to their research, ghosts would sometimes appear in their family's dream to tell them which other deceased person they want to marry, so Jack and Maddie hold a seance to consult their dead son.
(you could've just asked, y'know. You don't have to light candles and incense every time you try to talk to me.)
Danny, by this point is exasperated by his parents' failed and increasingly ridiculous attempts, decides to play along and says he wants to marry the Dead Robin.
He didn't expect this to be the time his parents' hairbrained plans actually sorta works.
Anyway, now Danny has to find the poor ghost he accidentally married so that they can get a ghost divorce. Well, guess his parents are getting rid of him after all, because looks like he's going to Gotham.
Now if only the Bats would stop looking at him so weird whenever he says he needs find the dead Robin so that they can annul their marriage.
"Red Hood, what did you do!?!"
"Fuck off! I swear I've never met this guy in my life!"

Plot points I hope to see in season 8b/9
(this is long because the writers have a lot to make up for)
• Airport scene
• Eddie gives Buck his St. Christopher necklace
• Buck's coping mechanism of briefly turning into slutty Buck 1.0 after Eddie leaves. Only this time it's with guys that resemble Eddie but he doesn't notice. Maddie does. And she wishes desperately that she wasn't pregnant so she could drink
• Buck actually uses the word bisexual or bi to describe himself
• Finally getting to see Eddie's sisters. And maybe while he's in Texas he facetimes Buck and they come into frame. And in true little sister fashion, they embarrass him: "Oh, Edmundo! Is this the Buck we keep hearing about? He IS cute!"
"I never said that!"
Buck: "...you don't think I'm cute? 🥺"
• Maddie, Sofia, and Adrianna meeting and bonding over their dumbass brothers
• Everyone else finds out that Buck is in Eddie's will and they all just stand there, mouths agape cuz how THE FUCK do they not know they're in love?? Everyone else can see it!
• Buck tells literally everyone at the 118 about his feelings for Eddie because he needs advice. And Chim makes a joke like,
"He already has everyone crushing on him! Why can't someone have a crush on me for once??"
"...dude, you're my brother-in-law."
"So?? We don't have to tell Maddie!"
• Buck admits his feelings but Eddie ends up not leaving so Buck avoids him out of embarrassment like jk pranked ya!
• Buck NDE because I NEED to see Eddie lose his shit
• Or they both have a close call and later have a serious 'spousal' discussion about what would happen to Chris if they both died. And then they share a moment of comradery, trash talking Helena & Ramon and hoping they never get custody again
• Speaking of Shitty Parents 2.0 (Shitty Parents 1.0 being the Buckley's) we need more screen time hating on Helena. Ramon got multiple scenes showing how awful he is and Eddie calling him out on it. But Helena is a selfish woman that keeps trying to manipulate Eddie into giving her Chris. And even when Eddie tries to keep in contact with his son while he's in Texas she just brushes him off and doesn't try to get Chris to talk to him. All because she got her way so she doesn't care, pushing Eddie further into his pit of self-hatred. And for that she must be punished
• Eddie talking to Bobby about his Catholic guilt in relation to his sexuality. And then going to Michael for advice about the transition of believing he's straight and having a heterosexual marriage and family to where he is now. The 3 of them need to go on a fishing trip or something. They'd have it all sorted out within the weekend
• Eddie and Maddie having ANY kind of interaction on screen. The writers know that if they teamed up they'd be besties instantly and they're keeping that from us!
• Chris needing dating advice but as soon as his dad tries to help he cuts him off like: "Not from you, you're obviously gay and all of your straight relationships sunk like the Titanic. But thanks anyway. Hey Buck!"
"Wtf? His relationships weren't great either!"
• Eddie having more discussions with Hot Priest™️ about his guilt and he just smiles fondly at Eddie, "I don't know about you, but my god doesn't judge. Not when someone lives their truth. I think you're more afraid of your family's judgement. If I were you, I'd go back and think of every time I thought God was judging me and consider the possibility that I was putting Him in place of my parental figures." and Eddie just blue screens for many minutes as Hot Priest™️ patiently waits for him to catch up as if he hadn't just changed his entire fucking life
• A scene where either Hot Priest™️ or Bobby or Buck asks him: "Would you judge Christopher if he questioned his sexuality?" "What? No." "Would you tell him to go to confessional or try to pray it away?" "Of course not!" "Would you ever discourage him to be anything less than who he truly is? Or stop him from doing something that makes him happy?" "No!" "Then why do it to yourself? Why set that example? Even if it turns out your parents or Abuela aren't comfortable with you exploring your sexuality, you can always do better than them. Break the cycle for the one person who matters most to you. Be happy, be yourself, be what you want to be, not what others expect from you. And I know you, you won't do it for you. So do it for Christopher. Show him that it's okay, great even, to be you."
• Josh getting all giddy while talking to Eddie like he did when Buck asked for gay dating advice
• Eddie talking to Hen and Karen about how they coped with their foster kids leaving. Like, how do wake up every morning to a quieter house and empty bedrooms, knowing the breakfast table is going to be lonely? They exchange bittersweet looks and hug him
I will accept no less than 80% of this becoming canon. Thank you and good night.

I need a part two to the dad Jack Hughes
Jack-36
Y/n-17
Part 1-here
The house was quiet, too quiet. I sat on the edge of the couch, elbows on my knees, running a hand through my hair for what felt like the hundredth time. Y/N hadn’t come out of her room since last night—no door slams, no footsteps, nothing. I couldn’t stop replaying our argument, the way her voice cracked when she threw those words at me like knives. I’d screwed up, but I didn’t know how to fix it.
I had to try something.
Knocking gently on her door, I called out, “Y/N? Let’s talk, okay?” Silence. I sighed, my hand hovering over the doorknob before deciding against it. “How about we go grab some ice cream or something? Just us. Like we used to.”
A few seconds passed before I heard her door unlock and creak open. She stood there, arms crossed, her eyes red but defiant. “Ice cream?” she asked, her tone skeptical but softer than I expected.
“Yeah,” I said, forcing a small smile. “Come on. My treat.”
The car ride was awkward, the tension between us thick enough to cut. I tried to make small talk, asking about school or her friends, but she answered in clipped sentences, staring out the window. By the time we got to the ice cream shop, I was desperate for some kind of breakthrough.
We sat across from each other in the small, brightly lit booth, her spoon scraping against the bowl as she avoided my gaze. I was about to say something when my phone buzzed on the table. I glanced at the screen. It was my girlfriend.
“Sorry, Y/N. I have to take this,” I muttered, standing up and walking a few steps away.
“Hey,” I answered, my voice dropping as I tried to sound casual. “What’s up?”
The conversation dragged longer than I’d intended—something about dinner plans or a party. When I finally hung up and turned back, Y/N was gone. Her half-eaten ice cream sat on the table, the spoon sticking out like a white flag of surrender.
When I got home, the house was quiet again, but this time, something felt off. I knocked on her door, but there was no answer. Panic rose in my chest as I opened it, finding the room empty. The bed was neatly made—too neatly—and her backpack was gone.
I pulled out my phone, opening Life360. My heart sank when I saw the location: Luke’s house.
I called him immediately, pacing the living room as it rang. “Luke,” I said as soon as he picked up. “Is Y/N with you?”
There was a pause on the other end, then Luke’s calm but firm voice. “Yeah, she’s here.”
“Okay, I’ll come pick her up,” I said, grabbing my keys.
“No, you won’t,” Luke replied, his tone sharp. “Not yet.”
“Luke, she’s my kid. I need to—”
“You need to learn how to be a better dad,” he interrupted, his voice like steel. “She doesn’t need more yelling or excuses, Jack. She needs you to actually show up.”
His words hit me harder than anything Y/N had said last night. I stood there, stunned, the weight of my failures pressing down on me like a ton of bricks. “Luke, I’m trying,” I said quietly, my voice breaking.
“Try harder,” he said, then hung up.

Tumblr media
"What do you mean you're not coming?"
It's been an unspoken rule that, even if you hate sports and the ball stays ten meters away from you, you always come to Sarah's soccer practice, cheering for her from your usual spot at the benches.
Except today, you aren't there. And now Sarah is calling you when she shouldn't, but that she doesn't know.
"I can't. I have stuff to work on stuff"
Bullshit.
Your laptop and the half-written essay sit untouched at the coffee table. The thing being touched in question, is something entirely different.
"Need help?"
His hands grip any free spot of your glistening skin, sucking on the rosy pink until it turns maroon red.
"I'm at my dorm, sorry"
Double bullshit.
Sarah doesn't even know your car is parked next to her dad's truck. She has about four hours to find out.
"I can drop by later then" she suggests.
His hot breath tingles against your neck as his nose caresses the spot. Bad girl, he mouths, like he wasn't the one who told you to pick up, despite his daughter's name on the caller's ID. You try to reach for a kiss, but his digits press on your hair, pulling you back with violence to forbid your lips from touching his. Bad girl, and your arousal drips with more intensity at the remark. Bad girl.
"No!" the answer comes quick, your voice strained, and Sarah jokes that you should take it easy with your classes, instead of suspecting anything else.
"Fine! I won't go if you don't want me to, but if you show up dead by stress, I'll be free of guilt"
He kisses the outline of your jaw with sloppy movements, like he just wants to busy himself while Sarah blabbers about the practice, and you keep trying to make her stop, but she tells you not to worry, that she's on a break right now, and the task to avoid whimpering at his rough kisses across your neck becomes increasingly difficult. A gasp escapes your lips when his teeth sink into your flesh. Mine, not to be said but to be felt. Seen by the rest. A pretty red that tastes like the blood he craves, the hunger akin to violence. Bad girl, and he's biting your lip to stop any other filthy noises from escaping. What if she hears?
"Are you okay?" concern laced on Sarah's tone. Guilt creeps through the cracks of the worn-out paint of his bedroom, one your friend had practically begged him to restore; the joke of it all was that was about his job yet he couldn't fix his own goddamn house. "Y/n, did you hurt yourself?"
I'm treating you well, ain't I, doll? and then he'd grin against the crook of your neck before looking at you, his dark blown-wide pupils gazing at you with a hunger you didn't think it was possible. They'd burn, and the fire didn't scare you: it was the warm your cold body needed. Tell Sarah her daddy ain't hurting her slut of a friend.
"I-I'm fine" you manage to choke out. Good girl.
Joel's lids feel heavy as a crown. But you like 'em rough, don't 'cha, baby?
"Should I worry?"
Joel pulls harder, your scalp burning at the harsh tug. Answer when I ask. You breathe in heavily, and Sarah keeps on asking you if you're okay, threatening to burst through a dorm door she'll find empty.
"N-no" you meekly answer, and he laughs at your demeanor. Under his weight, pinned down on the mattress, there's nowhere to run to.
"Is it okay if I-"
"Sarah I need to hang, okay? My head hurts. Bye" it all comes down in a rush, the words a vomit of excuses. You make sure the call has ended, and so does Joel, that in an act of mercy, has stopped. You both look the screen until the lockscreen is back up again, a picture of you and Sarah. Despite used to having his weight on top of you, your throat feels constricted.
"Do you want to traumatize your daughter, Mr. Miller?"
He's back at his task of kissing, making you moan and writhe at the sensitivity of your kissed and bit skin during the last hour. You hate how he takes his time―edging you; unbearable.
"What I want is you"
The lie comes out effortlessly from his teeth. He wants you, needs you, but does he really want you? His daughter's best friend, the college girl he was going to lecture just last summer―to live life and forget about him, yet couldn't. He lies to himself, saying he didn't because you felt asleep, but feeling a warm body next to him, being your beautiful frame of all people, made it hard.
The way he makes a moaning mess out of you, how he knows every spot of your body no one had been able to please before, how your cunt stretches perfectly around his cock, how you call his name like no one else had done. It belongs to you now, and this is a vice.
It's like he's got a wound, and you're the only balm that can soothe the pain. But the effect is temporary, and after you leave, he always finds himself wanting more.
The doubt on his eyes has your heart beating out of fear.
"Then have me, Mr. Miller" you dare.
When Joel smiles, barely noticeable, something flutters in your stomach.
"Al'ight, impatient one. We have sum hours until Sarah's back. Spread" his hand nudges your thighs apart, and you oblige, making Joel chuckle at your obedience. "Good girl, baby. S'good f'r me"
You let out a gentle moan at the praise, and he smirks at your reaction.
"Feelin' desperate, are we?" he taunts, seeing your pretty lips parted and face flushed, a whine escaping them.
"Shut the fuck up and just kiss me already" you beg, pussy throbbing painfully.
"Damn brat" he hisses, "ain't you such'a needy greedy slut?" his finger hooks on your panties, tugging you closer into him, your body rising to clash against his softer frame that has nothing to do with his rough demeanor. You can feel the bulge that has formed through his pants, making you moan in delight.
"Sorry, daddy. I'll be a good girl" you squirm under his weight, pouting lips and batting eyelashes. "Please, kiss me. Pretty please, daddy"
"Jus' cus you asked well" but he knows it's an excuse to capture your sweet lips until he's tasted all of you. You once heard old men kiss like they want to devour every inch of your mouth, to make space for their tongue like it's going to live in there, and they were right.
He pulls away from the kiss to pull out his shirt, revealing his soft body. Your hands itch, immediatly reaching for it with wandering fingers. He chuckles at the eagerness, but then he catches the subtle adoration in your eyes, and his breath hitches, heart stopping.
"What's wrong?" you look up, and it's gone. Maybe he imagined it.
Joel doesn't know why he feels dissapointed by it.
He tries to push the thoughts back, head diving down between your breasts, leaving sloppy kisses and messy trails of saliva with his tongue on each one. He gives a special lick to your hardened nipples, making you squirm.
"Gonna bend y'r fuckin' sexy little body on this sheets. Gonna make you cum all'over, until y'r scent is'mpregnated on 'em"
You groan at his words, fingers pulling down the pajama shorts you brought over, revealing your pretty black laced lingerine.
"Fuck, baby. You wore 'em for me?" he's asking, and you'd be crazy if you think the tone reveals devotion. Is Joel even capable of warmth?
He leaves a new trail of kisses, this time, running from your neck to your stomach.
"Gonna make you scream my name 'til that's the only thin' you know how to say" his hot breath tingles over your abdomen. He buries his face in there, the mustache and scruffy graying hair tickling the skin. "Gon' give you such'a load, this flat stomach of yours will be bustin' with my seed"
You whine at his filthy words, mouth agape slightly. He looks at your soaked panties, arousal on clear display now. Joel's cock twitches in the confines of his jeans.
He lets out a low growl. "Look at you, such'a slut for me. Drippin' wet like a fuckin' whore and desperate, when I ain't even touch you"
To prove so, Joel teasingly runs his fingers along your inner thigh, dangerously close to your soaking core.
He pulls your underwear down, taking them off.
"M'gonna fuck you real good, baby" his fingers dig on your thighs for support, the burning sensation of his calloused digits on your soft skin delicious. "Gon' take care of what's mine"
Mine.
The words ring loud and clear. The only other noise to be heard is his lips leaving wet sounds against your thighs. Does Joel even realize what he said? Or was it in the heat of the moment?
No, wait. Stop. Why do you care?
He begins to rub circles in your clit, coating his fingers in your dripping arousal, prodding the tense needy hole, making you moan in desperation.
"Please, daddy" your lips cry as you beg for him to do anything to remove the pain in between your legs.
"Please, what?" Joel teases, voice raspy. He keeps prodding your center, his digits in and out in a gentle manner, contrasting his hard hold on your thigh. You squirm and whine at the sensation, but maybe it's the dark on his eyes that's really responsable for making you shrink under his gaze. "Think 'm doin' this for ya'? To please ya'? No, baby" he tuts, "you were a bad girl. Almost got caught"
"If you didn't make me answer" you seethe, a moan almost escaping your lips when his fingers hit that sweet spot of yours. "Maybe if you didn't, she wouldn't-"
Joel removed his fingers from you, and you reduce to a moaning mess, begging for the release you were chasing and now it's lost.
"But you wanted'er to know, didn't ya'?" he unbuckles his belt and fumbles with his worn-out jeans, revealing a barely concealed neediness on his side. "Wanted'er to know where 'er slut of a friend was: at daddy's house, beggin' for his dick like a cockhungry slut"
"I-I want it. Want you dick" you barely choke out, lips parted at the sight of his pulsating dick's silhouette under his brief.
"Then take it, hungry one"
His tip buries deeply into your cunt before you even speak again, sliding inside in one swift motion. You gasp, as he fills you up completely, because despite the way your cunt stretches for him, or the way you have had his dick and need it, his girth never fails to amaze you.
"D-daddy" you moan, walls stretching to accommodate his size. Your sweet arousal drips down your thighs, coating Joel's balls. Fuck, doesn't he love to see you squirming under him. He's never had a woman like you before, wrapped around his finger. You may be a girl, but God, you feel so much better around his dick than anyone else: your cunt tenses around his cock deliciously, his dick twitching when he takes a look at your legs shaking and fucked out state.
"That's it, pretty girl. Beg for'it"
His words go straight to your core as you moan. "Please. Let me take all of you, Joel, please"
You said his name. Fuck. He shouldn't be this aroused, but the way you say it like that's the only thing you know, like it means something more, it makes his dick throb and heart sting. That he, Joel Miller, old bitter man, single dad, could mean more to a young pretty girl like you.
"Fuck" he grunts, grabbing a handful of your hair as he begins to pull out slowly, plunging inside of you with harsh movements. The sound of skin clapping is obscene as he begins to fuck you mercilessly. "Ain't you a noisy lil' thing, huh? You like that, baby? You like it rough?"
Your voice comes out shaky. "Y-yes, daddy. F-fuck, just like that. I like it a l-lot"
"Good girl" he grins satisfied with your respone, his thrusts getting rougher and messier. "Lookin' s'pretty with my dick's inside of you"
Joel changes angles without telling you, brushing your g-spot. A noise so loud and vulgar comes out of your parted lips, and you feel ashamed.
But then he's brushing a strand of hair from your face, with a delicacy you've seen reserved for his daughter only. It feels weird, and you try that it doesn't distract you from your looming orgasm.
"Joel..." you breath out his name.
"Yes?" with everything coming out of his mouth: possesiveness, neediness, pleasure. Like he'd give you the world if you just ask, despite telling himself he wouldn't.
"K-keep going"
Your gaze bores into his eyes with an intensity that almost makes him stop. Because the words are simple, but Joel's been alive enough on this Earth to know it doesn't mean just that.
Keep going. Don't stop. Don't end this. Don't let me go.
"Whatever m'princess asks if she asks 'em nice"
You scream in pleasure as his thrusts become deeper, his balls slapping against your cunt, as your slick begins to run down your thighs. Joel thinks he's going crazy at the way your folds take him, how tight you feel, and the loud noises you make, begging him to fuck you harder, to use you. Every thrust pushes you closer to the edge, writhing under his touch as you begin to see stars.
"You close, aren't ya'?" he laughs, but it's devoid of mockery. A subtle softness hides behind them. Ask nicely, and I shall give. "Gon' cream 'round my dick like a good girl, right?"
His digits dig in the flesh of your hips, guiding himself to fuck you harder, for you to take him better, caging your body under the sheets, pushing you even closer to your orgasm. You mewl loudly, tears in the corner of your eyes at the delicious burn.
If you told yourself a year ago you'd be crying over Joel Miller's dick, of all people, you'd probably laugh. But no college boys had been able to please you, less bring you to tears as you reach your orgasm. This is heaven, and you aren't ready to say goodbye to the paradise you found in summer just yet.
Your core tenses around him, body so close to finishing, hair a mess, eyes brimming with tears, and lips spilling the filthiest sounds ever heard to humankind. It's heaven, and Joel isn't ready to give it up just yet. Your pussy throbs, and as your juices mix as one, you roll your eyes and head back, your high approaching, knot in your stomach tightening faster. Before you can register, your mind goes blank and you're seeing stars.
You come around his cock, coating it in your arousal as Joel admires how you cream his member, tight walls almost pushing him out of you. He groans at your simmering cries, some tears coming out of your eyes.
"What'e fuckin' slut, baby. You sure are somethin' else" he chuckles, his thrusts messier by his own high approaching. "Wait for me, yeah, baby?"
You humm, as he buries deep into you, filling you up completely, as his hips stop their harsh movements when he feels the tension in his abdomen release.
"Fuckin' sweet" he uses a finger to clean some of the slick that's run down your leg. "Good girl"
He licks them off in an obscene display, making sure to never break contact.
"If you keep doing that, I'm gonna become a real bad girl" you taunt.
Then he pulls out of you carefully, doing his best not to spill too much of his load from your cunt. He grabs one of the corners of his sheets, cleaning some of his seed from your thighs. Joel should be careful, but all his foggy mind can muster is you being his in every way he can. Making you his. Mine. Mine. Mine. You plead him not to do that, but he argues laundry day is soon and he likes it better when it smells like you anyway. You confess with a cute light blush in your cheeks that you do the same when he comes over to fuck you in your dorm, sleeping better when the covers smell like him. He shouldn't feel like this: like it could be. But he allows himself to, even for an instant.
"Oh, yeah?" he pants, "what you gon' do?"
Your eyes travel to his jeans and untied buckle he hadn't wasted time taking off, rather just pulling them down.
"I have something in mind..." you wander off, remembering filthy thoughts of your first night together, how you briefly thought about it. "I-" you cut off, blushing furiously.
"Yes?" he holds your chin tightly, forcing you to look at him as his rough fingers press on the skin. "Remember what I told ya', baby? To ask nicely? 'Cause you said you'd be a good girl, so be one and tell daddy what'd ya' want"
You gulp, trying to hold his gaze. You never back down. You never back down. But the intensity of the shinning copper makes that insufferable character of yours to be tamed, boiling against the surface but just scratching, all screams lost. Is like he knows this power over you, acting on it with a benevolence so sick, it has you thinking loving Joel Miller isn't impossible.
You never back down, but being with Joel feels like walking over stones, always thinking about the next step and the ones that were, ghosts of the lingering doubts and afterthoughts behind every step you take. It's like there's a river below them, washing away regret.
But you're still here: water up your knees then and now over your head.
You're barely floating. You'd be willing to drown anyway.
"I want to ride your belt buckle"
There's silence in the other side, until its met with a light chuckle.
"Yeah?" Joel keeps on laughing, his eyebrows raised in disbelief. "S'that what that filthy head of yours be thinkin' on?"
"Stop it" you groan, covering your hot face with your palms. You wish you could erase that ugly smirk off his face. "I'm never telling you anything again, ever"
"Now c'mon, baby. I was jus' messin' 'round" his tone adquires a soft edge to it, tender warm hands removing yours from your face. "Don't cover your face, baby. You're too goddam pretty" you blush, and Joel better resist the urge to kiss you just for the sake of kissing you. "I didn't mean to make fun of ya'. You know y'can tell me anythin' that's goin' inside that head of yours"
"Then you'll let me?" your pretty eyes look up to him, shinning like the stars of the summer night sky months ago.
He can't deny you anything, and a small crack of fear wounds his impenetrable heart.
"Get'ere you filthy slut"
You eagerly climb onto his lap as he sits against the beds headboard, your thighs pushing against his belly.
"Now" he tries to put in a more comfortable position, his tired joints creaking. He avoids your gaze, coughing over his blush. "You do all the job, baby. I ain't gonna help you, this greedy pussy took all of my energy"
You giggle, moving until your bare pussy clashes against the cold. A shiver runs down your spine, the dried juices moistening again over the metal piece. His hands move to your hips, hands now soft as they hold you, and he seems unsure of it, both of your breaths coming out ragged.
"You said you weren't gonna help" you chuckle, wrapping your arms around his neck. His face feels closer, and you can see lines time has marked across his features. "But thanks, daddy"
His heart takes a dangerous leap.
"'Course, baby" he smiles. "You know I spoil ya' too damn much"
You begin to roll your hips, sliding your pussy over the cold material, your arousal making a wet slick sound that bounces off the walls, a shiver down your back as you feel your slick already coating the front of it and the top of his jeans.
"Mmm, can't say no to me, can you, baby?" you mock, rocking your hips back and forth. A shaky breath escapes your parted lips, and Joel feels his renovated dick spring hard. You moan, your ass barely touching his now tense member.
"Quit runnin' that mouth of y'rs, baby" his digits dig on your skin, "or I'll bend ya' over again"
"Sorry, daddy" you feel the metal star on the middle digging inside your pussy, the borders of the imprint brushing your leaking cunt in a pleasant way. "I promise to be good"
"Do" he grunts, "you're runnin' out of time, doll"
You close your eyes, movements more quick and erratic, little moans leaving your body as you groan.
"Tell me how this lil' experiment of yours feelin', baby"
"F-feels good, daddy. Fuck" you groan, lifting your hips a bit as you grind yourself down across the material. "So so good, daddy. Thank you, daddy"
"Mmm, that's right. Now be a good girl and come for me. Let me see that pretty face of yours when ya' come over ma' belt"
You let out a shaky breath, juices spilling over his jeans even as you see stars. He chuckles, enamoured at the sight.
"You gonna need help with that?" you point out his boner.
Oh, aren't you a doll? So kind-hearted.
"That's okay" he breathes out, tiredly. He thinks of the next trip to the bathroom, the image of what he'll fuck himself to clear now.
You smile at him, for the first time forgetting this started as a blowing-off-steam-time or transaction.
For a moment, it feels like it could be.
"Jus' seein' you cum all over me so prettily is'nough, baby"

Eeeeek, I'm bursting with excitement! I wanna know so badly what happens next. I've been hurrying to get the kid to bed to read this 😂😂
You follow his lead with your own rifle, falling into step with him through the forest clearing. It’s a beautiful day in late November. Already you can see the edge of frost on the shrubs and half-barren trees. The ground is littered with dead leaves painted in browns, oranges, and dappled with reds.
I love this description btw Really painted a picture in my head 😍👏
You snort. “Right. Think I’ll just leave you for the bears…”
Ouch. That line probably haunted her afterward 😂🙈 (but I loved their banter! You can totally see they have a close and loving relationship 💕) And her dad's optimism and "fate" was so adorable ☺️
You don’t see the elk, and soon enough, you don’t see your dad either. You do hear a whistling on the wind, and the cold of it cuts right through your coat.
Goosebumps... 👀
Tumblr media
Dean continues to listen intently with his brows furrowed.
Ah, our boy entered work mode 🤓
Dean has packed up his supplies and put on his winter gear. You watch him from the living room sofa, trying to hide your unease. You know he’s doing this for you, but there’s part of you that doesn’t want to see him leave, for his own sake, and selfishly for yours.
Oh God 🙈 No, I can't watch him leave alone. At least get Sam!!! Oh God, no, no, no, no... 🫣
I also realized in that moment why my readers are usually "from the same foxhole" because this is exactly what I can't do. Freaks me the fuck out and gives me so much anxiety. Like, I have to be there 😂 I don't know how you do it. Bravo, friend 😅👏
“You shouldn’t be going out there alone,” you say.
Nooo, but you shouldn't follow him either... With the broken ankle 👀
“If I’m not back inside a week, you need to ration out the supplies here as best you can. That new meat in the fridge should last you a while.”
A week?!?!?! *gasps*
Tumblr media
By new meat, you have to assume he means the bear.
Ooooh, btw, super interesting what you said about the bear meat! I figured something like this. They did wear bear fur, right? And I know people back then never wasted anything, so makes sense they'd eat the meat, too 😄
Right now, you don’t really give a shit about what he’d rather, but you don’t say so.
I cackled 😂 Love her feistiness!
After the first three days, you’ve managed to clean the entire cabin, top to bottom.
Oh God! I'd die worrying... 🙈🤣
On Day Four, you create a nest of pillows and blankets in the middle of the living room floor.
Aww 😭😭 Poor thing... 😢 (Loved how she explained not taking his room. While invasive, I think if Dean came back to this in his room, he would've melted 🫠🫶)
Then, you hear the sound of a lock turning, before the front door shoves open.
THANK FUCKING GOD!!!!!
Tumblr media
“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” he murmurs into your hair. “Believe me, I am.”
I knew it was a long shot, especially when her father wasn't with Dean, but still breaks my heart for her 💔😢
He brushes your cheek with his thumb, collecting your tears there. You glance down at his plush lips again, your own parting with a breath. His hand moves to cup your cheek, framing the side of your face. Please… He finally drags you to him in a kiss.
Tumblr media
The anxiety is long forgotten. All is forgiven... *sighs dreamily* 😍😍
“Sorry…we can’t do this,” he says, with difficulty. He sits upright and nearly makes you fall over in the process.
Oh no, you come back here, young man!!!
It wouldn't be Dean, though, without the "you can't date me, I'm dangerous and not good enough" freak out 😂
“I don’t even own this place. Besides my car, I ain’t got much of anything to give.”
Legit crying right now 😭😭😭 This is exactly why we always want what's best for him in fanfics. He deserves it so much 🥺
Or at least, it’s heat of a different kind, as his strong hands once again find your waist. They hold you still, but also hold you to him.
Love that little detail. Makes such a huge difference ❤️
Oooooh, I so can't wait to read the finale now! This is absolutely amazing, Alex! It's got the right amount of angst and heartbreak, only to haul me back into this sweet cabin romanticism 😍🤍🤍🤍

Part 3: Nothing Left to Burn
“We should start heading back,” you say, looking up at the mid-afternoon sky. It was starting to dip toward the top of the trees in the distance. “It’s going to take a couple of hours to get back before nightfall.”
“Yep, it’s about that time.” Your dad groans as he starts to haul himself back to his feet, where you two had been taking a rest against a tree. “Jesus, I need a new pair of knees. Help your old man, would ya?”
You smirk as you help the middle-aged alpha to his feet. His joints pop and his back cracks as he stretches his arms high.
“Damn, Dad. You’re creakier than the trees,” you quip.
He tosses you a wry look. “Just you wait. In a few years, after wrangling a couple of pups, you’re gonna feel my pain.”
“A few years?” you laugh. “Did I miss the part where I actually met a decent guy, let alone one worth mating?”
“Oh, you’ll find him,” your dad nods, slinging his rifle back over his shoulder. “Or he’ll find you, like your mother did with me.”
You follow his lead with your own rifle, falling into step with him through the forest clearing. It’s a beautiful day in late November. Already you can see the edge of frost on the shrubs and half-barren trees. The ground is littered with dead leaves painted in browns, oranges, and dappled with reds.
“You met her in college. It’s not like you guys defied fate,” you say.
“Yeah, but if she hadn’t walked into my psychology class by mistake, and stolen my latte at the campus café, maybe you wouldn’t be here,” he teases.
You huff and roll your eyes. Yes, your parents are a walking cliché. And by far, your dad’s the bigger sap.
“I’m telling you. Sometimes, the universe does us a solid,” he says, reinforcing his point with a literal pointed finger your way. You push it away from your face in exasperation.
“You might wanna watch where you’re going,” you say, “before you roll your ankle on another pebble.”
“You kidding me?” he exclaims. “That thing was the size of my fist! You’re lucky I didn’t break an ankle. Make you carry me all the way back to the car.”
You snort. “Right. Think I’ll just leave you for the bears…”
You trail off when a sound reaches you and your father. The sound of leaves crunching in the underbrush, quick and light. Your father’s shoulders straighten with alertness, the alpha’s head cocking toward the sound.
“Maybe I spoke too soon about the bears,” you whisper. He shakes his head.
“Nah, too light. It’s probably an elk.” He tosses you a smile. “We’ll have one hell of a haul to bring home, plus a good story to tell your mom.”
Your mother, the vegan veterinarian?
“Yeah, because she loves elk meat.”
“Would you quit being a smartass for two minutes? You go a little west. I’ll see where it’s at,” he says.
He quietly wracks his rifle and steps away from the clearing, farther into the woods. You do what he says, veering west. You don’t see the elk, and soon enough, you don’t see your dad either. You do hear a whistling on the wind, and the cold of it cuts right through your coat.
Unease prickles down your spine, though you don’t know why.
“Dad?” you whisper-yell, trying not to spook whatever animal might be out there.
A gunshot rings out, along with your dad’s voice in a shout. Your eyes widen in alarm, and you call his name, taking off in a run to find him.
You end up rising over a hill you hadn’t crossed before, but you see your dad below; you recognize his bright blue puffer jacket that Mom got him for his birthday. You call his name, and he looks up at you with fear in his eyes.
Not for himself, but for you.
“Go, get out of here!” he shouts and waves you off.
“What? What is it?!” you yell.
He shakes his head, like he’s unable to answer your question. “Run! Run and don’t stop!”
He moves further into the denser trees until you can no longer make him out. With a frustrated huff, you sprint down the hill and try to follow his tracks with your gun at the ready. On the wind, in the distance, you still hear his voice.
Until it cuts off abruptly, along with the terrible cracking of bone.
You gasp and halt in your steps. What the fuck was that?
Tears fill your eyes and blur your vision. Despite what you heard, you realize just how very alone you are in the clearing. Fear and adrenaline make your breath tremulous and shallow, but you can’t just give up. You search for a while longer, making yourself hoarse calling out to your father.
No matter what direction you take, you never find him.
Tumblr media
“I ran back to town to get the rangers,” you say, brushing a couple of stray tears from your cheeks. You sniff, licking your lips and swallowing a hard lump of emotion in your throat.
Dean continues to listen intently with his brows furrowed.
“It was too late,” you sigh. “He disappeared. They explained it away, thought a grizzly bear got him, but I know it wasn’t a damn bear.”
You shake your head as the tears come harder and faster, all over again. Dean’s jaw clenches in sympathy.
“No one believed me about what I heard, not even my mom,” you confess. Your mother had been too distraught to entertain “anything else.” No matter how strongly you’d felt about your suspicions, you understood that she just wanted to put your father’s death behind her after his funeral. Part of you had stopped believing yourself.
A stronger part of you hadn’t been able to let it go, however. So you had to come back here and try to find any trace of your father.
When you finally run out of words, you see the proverbial gears turning in Dean’s eyes.
“What’re you thinking?” you hazard to ask. You can’t help but reach out and grab at his wrist. “Do you…do you believe me?”
Dean’s gaze softens a fraction. He lays his larger hand over yours.
“Yeah, I do,” he says. “I’m willing to bet on what took him too.”
He squeezes your hand before he lets you go and gets up from his seat. He soon returns with his father’s journal in hand. He reclaims his spot across from you, sitting close to your thigh on the end of the chaise. His gaze falls away from your face to the journal in hand, and he flips it open to a page he knows from memory. You suck in a subtle breath to steel yourself when he turns it toward you—to the very page that had given you nightmares the first night you read it.
Wendigo.
“Nasty son of a bitch,” he says. “It hibernates for decades at a time, but when it surfaces, it knows how to get through long winters like this. It takes a handful of people at a time, feeding on its victims slow.”
You feel sick at that, but still, his words elicit a sliver of hope.
“So there’s a chance he could still be alive,” you say, in a brighter voice. Dean gives you a measured look, dragging a hand over his mouth.
“Look, I’m gonna be straight with you,” he says. “It’s been months, right?”
You nod, though you realize what he’s saying. Don’t get your hopes up.
“But there’s a chance,” you insist, with tears in your eyes. Dean holds your gaze for a moment, and he nods. He squeezes your knee this time, then shuts the journal with one hand as he moves to stand.
You follow him on your crutches over to the kitchen. He pulls out a drawer and retrieves a folded-up map. Tossing the journal on the kitchen counter, he opens up the map and lays it out flat next to the sink. It’s a map of the mountain, and the entire forest surrounding the mountain of Big Sky. Dean’s eyes flick up to yours.
“Where did it happen?”
Tumblr media
Dean has packed up his supplies and put on his winter gear. You watch him from the living room sofa, trying to hide your unease. You know he’s doing this for you, but there’s part of you that doesn’t want to see him leave, for his own sake, and selfishly for yours.
“Try not to go outside again unless you absolutely friggin’ have to,” he warns. “And if you do, don’t go too far. Make sure you take a weapon, preferably a gun and a knife.”
“Dean, I know,” you reply. You get up and hover by the couch while he finishes lacing his snowshoes and hooks his backpack on. You’re unable to hide your concern.
“You shouldn’t be going out there alone,” you say.
Dean tosses you a grin. It has the shade of how he was with you before the “journal” incident—self-assured, a hint teasing.
“Don’t worry. This isn’t exactly my first solo mission,” he says, though his devil-may-care attitude soon subsides into something more serious. “If I’m not back inside a week, you need to ration out the supplies here as best you can. That new meat in the fridge should last you a while.”
By new meat, you have to assume he means the bear.
“When you’re healed up, you can make your way down the mountain and back to town with that map I left for you. Kitchen counter,” he says.
Your frown worsens. You step closer to him with the pretense of closing and locking the front door for him after he leaves.
“Dean,” you say, stopping him at the door. He turns to look at you over his shoulder. You hesitate, fidgeting slightly, but you gain your courage.
“If you don’t come back, I’m going to find you,” you warn him.
Dean frowns. He turns to you fully and tilts his head as if to say, come again?
“No, you’re not, Omega. You understand me?”
His terseness doesn’t scare you anymore. You glare up at him, quite literally standing your ground.
“You didn’t leave me out there when you didn’t even know me. You think I’d do that to you?” you counter.
At that, Dean has to pause, tilting his head slightly. He almost smiles at your stubbornness, and just like that, his annoyance dissipates. It softens him, making him reach for your arm in an assuring squeeze.
“I appreciate the thought, but trust me. I’d rather you look out for you,” he says.
Right now, you don’t really give a shit about what he’d rather, but you don’t say so. It’s written across your face anyway. Dean’s mouth tugs at a smile.
“All right, I’m out,” he says. “Save me some of Yogi in there.”
You huff, but you shut the door behind him after he steps out onto the porch, down the steps, and beyond. You move to the living room window and watch him get farther and farther away from the cabin.
Despite the crackling fireplace, you begin to feel cold inside.
Tumblr media
After the first three days, you’ve managed to clean the entire cabin, top to bottom. With the “new meat,” you make a large batch of soup to last you throughout the week. You freeze a couple of servings for Dean.
For when he gets back.
You try to fill up your time in other ways, like attempting, and failing, and trying again more successfully to make bread from scratch. You haven’t binge-watched every season of The Great British Bake-Off for nothing.
Then you organize all of the alpha’s books by author. You wash all the laundry you can find and fold everything neatly on his bed, and you put away the couple of sweaters you’ve borrowed from him into your own dresser.
On Day Four, you create a nest of pillows and blankets in the middle of the living room floor. In your anxiety, it’s a reflex you can’t help. Your initial instinct was to nest in his room, but you thought that was too invasive of his privacy, so the living room was your next best option. At least his scent is still somewhat imbued into his favorite chair, and around his records. (You do steal another shirt of his to sleep with though.)
On Day 8, your worry becomes a living thing. You pace the living room and the kitchen on your crutches, probably wearing down the wooden ends of them while you debate what to do. Despite what Dean told you to do if he didn’t get back, you know you’re not just going to leave him out there. But the reality is, you have a problem of mobility.
With a frustrated huff, you decide to try setting your problem foot down normally. Your ankle hurts, a sharp pain shooting up your calf and nearly sending you to the floor.
“Fuck!” you gasp, both in shock and aggravation.
You know this isn’t just a sprain. At best it could be a fracture, since no bone is protruding under the skin. It still means you shouldn’t go after him either.
But you’ll have to try.
After you manage to clamber back onto your feet using the crutches, you put together some supplies, including the extra med kit in case he’s hurt. (Or in case something happens to you while you’re out there.) This is a bad idea, you think, even as you heave on your jacket.
Then, you hear the sound of a lock turning, before the front door shoves open.
A yelp of surprise escapes you, though you soon realize that it’s Dean, looking worn down and ragged, but alive.
“Home, sweet home,” he says wryly, but he looks relieved to see you too.
You help him sink down onto the chaise, where he stretches out with a groan. He tips his head back on the cushion. His jacket is torn in a few places. Blood has dried on his cheek, his neck, and near his hairline, and you worry about where else he might be hurt.
You quickly go to the kitchen and pour a bowl of warm water and grab a hand towel. You bring it all back to Dean, where you set your supplies on the floor and sit down beside him on the cushion.
“Are you okay?” You try to calm down your racing heart (and the nauseous feeling in your stomach) as you help him work open his jacket, followed by his shirt. Discreetly, your eyes take in the expanse of his tanned skin and pebbling nipples exposed to the cool air, even with the fire roaring nearby.
“Yeah, just peachy,” he says.
You smile a little. You take the towel, dampen it, and begin to clear the blood from his cheek, his neck, and the upper part of his torso—even his scuffed hands. Then you squeegee out the blood in the bowl and continue your task. Dean subtly watches you, his gaze a bit softer than usual.
He eventually looks you over with a frown as he takes in the way you’re dressed, and then the backpack by the door.
“What, about to go for a little afternoon stroll?” His sarcasm turns to annoyance. “Didn’t I tell you to stay put until you can actually walk?”
Your mouth flattens into a line, but any anger you might’ve felt is waylaid by your relief. It brings tears to your eyes.
“I thought something happened to you,” you say.
Dean hesitates. Your hand has stilled on his chest. He softens a little more, grasping your hand in his larger one.
“I’m fine,” he says. “The job’s done.”
Your eyes widen. “You found the…thing? The wendigo?”
His mouth pulls at a cocky grin, tempered only by his tiredness, and the way he’s looking at you. “Sure did. Tried to take a chunk outta my ass, but a little aerosol deodorant and a lighter’s all you need to barbecue that ugly son of a bitch.”
You smile in amusement, but all too soon, it fades.
“Did you find my dad?” you ask.
Dean’s expression sobers as well.
“Yeah, I think so.” His face gentles. “Was he wearing a blue puffer jacket?”
Your lips tremble. As that horrible realization dawns, you break down into tears. You already know from his tone that your father was dead when he found him.
Dean guides you down to him by your shoulder and wraps his arms around you. You bury your face into his neck, and your body shakes with quiet sobs.
“I’m sorry, sweetheart,” he murmurs into your hair. “Believe me, I am.”
He holds you close, warm and secure. He allows you to stay there as long as you need, where you feel safe, even if this world has become a colder, darker place.
After a few minutes longer, your intense sobs begin to subside. You don’t mean to, but you turn your nose into Dean’s neck, scenting him on reflex. It calms you down, but it has the unintended effect of arousing him. The alpha rumbles in pleasure.
You blink in surprise and lean back enough to see his face. Dean’s lips press together as he looks down on you; he seems embarrassed, but you also see the heat reflected in his gaze, so intense in those forest greens. Your face begins to warm in a blush.
He brushes your cheek with his thumb, collecting your tears there. You glance down at his plush lips again, your own parting with a breath. His hand moves to cup your cheek, framing the side of your face. Please…
He finally drags you to him in a kiss.
It’s heady and passionate, and also comforting. Your fingers wind into his hair, your nails scraping along his scalp. He growls as his arm tightens around your waist. You shiver in delight.
You press a hand to the center of his chest, giving you leverage to rise up and slide your thigh over his legs. There you sink into his lap. Your breasts pillow against his chest when you lay on top of him, your elbows digging into the cushion on either side of his head. His hands move down your body, feeling down your sides, squeezing your hips, and then your ass. You hum into his mouth and roll your hips into his. Already you feel him hardening through his jeans.
But somehow he breaks away from your kiss, even though your hands are still in his hair.
“Sorry…we can’t do this,” he says, with difficulty.
He sits upright and nearly makes you fall over in the process. He grabs your arm before you tip over, but he keeps himself at arm’s length from you after you’re forced to slide off his lap, sitting on the end of the chaise instead. Your eyes glisten with hurt and confusion.
“Why?” is all you can ask.
He doesn’t want to answer.
“Dean?” you ask, inching towards him. He raises a hand to keep you at bay.
“Just…it’s not a good idea, okay?” he says, with the clenching of his jaw.
That cuts into you even more. Your heart pulses with pain.
“Do you know what your scent is to me?” you ask, in a voice slightly trembling. You glance at the fireplace that has dimmed to embers. “It’s better than that fire at full blaze. Every time I went camping with my dad, that’s what I loved the most. Sitting by that fire, talking, laughing, and for the millionth time, telling the story of when I gave my sister micro bangs in her sleep when I was ten.”
You wipe a stray tear from your eye, but you respect the distance he’s put between you two.
“The second I met you, I knew what this was,” you say. “I think you know it too.”
Dean shakes his head. His face betrays his wariness, his desire, and his obstinance.
“Look…even if that’s true, you don’t want this with me,” he says. His handsome face becomes marred by a frown, his brows knitting together. “I don’t even own this place. Besides my car, I ain’t got much of anything to give.”
You shake your head in dismay. “I know that’s not true.”
“I’m not bullshitting,” he says. “Listen…I’ve never had much. And what I did have, I found a way to lose. I’ve let my people down. Just about everyone I’ve ever…”
You can’t help but reach out a hand for him, your heart hurting, but he leans away, pressing himself back against the seat. It cuts even deeper into you; now though, you wonder if it’s because he feels the same gut feeling you do when he’s this close—close enough to touch, but almost afraid of the burn.
“They’ve been hurt, almost always because of me.” His voice shakes imperceptibly, with a wry, humorless turn of his lips. “So take it from me, sweetheart. You’ll wanna steer clear.”
“Dean,” you say. You expel a breath, digesting his words, while thinking of what you want to say.
“I’ve never not felt safe with you,” you confess. “Even when I screwed up and drove you crazy, I’m sure, I knew you’d never hurt me. The same way I know…”
You reach out a tentative hand to lay in the center of his chest, over his heart. Your thumb brushes the edge of his strange tattoo, over the dark ink in his skin.
“You’re my mate. My one, true mate in this world,” you say, meeting his eyes. “And I want to know you.”
You see inner conflict in the depths of Dean’s eyes, dark green and troubled. You take a chance and lean in, brushing your cheek against his, nuzzling, laying a soft kiss to his cheek.
“Omega,” he warns, but the grit in his voice has little heat.
Or at least, it’s heat of a different kind, as his strong hands once again find your waist. They hold you still, but also hold you to him. Your gentle affection is making him ache, deep in the shadowy cavern of his chest. He’d never admit it, but loneliness had set in there, burrowed deep with a stronghold on his heart. Without knowing, you’ve been carving it out with those gentle hands.
You now slide your hands up his chest and over his shoulders, warm palms on his skin.
“Alpha, I want to know you,” you insist. Quiet, but steady, your voice is a mere brush of words near his ear, against his cheek. “Please.”
Dean’s brows furrow as he briefly shuts his eyes tight. With your whispered plea, the brittle chain of his restraint finally snaps free.
He cradles the back of your head and guides you back into a feverish kiss.

AN: Sorry to cut it off there lol, but the big (steamy) finale is coming up next week! Perhaps a little earlier than Friday. 😘
Next Time:
“Were you nesting, Omega?” he teases, between the sinful meetings of his lips with yours. You hum your affirmation before his tongue swipes across your lower lip, seeking entrance.
You open yourself to him in more ways than one; you slip your hands across his naked shoulders and explore the smooth planes of muscle, the dips and softness in between. You encourage him to lower down, to cover you with the length and broadness of his frame. His weight is a welcome one between your thighs and against the softness of your body.
“Was worried about you,” you whisper a confession against his lips. Dean briefly pauses, meeting your eyes.
“Thanks for waiting up,” he says, with a hint of a smile.
Your lips curve upwards in return.

Nothing Ever Stays Dead - Part 1
Gadriel x Childhood Friend OC
Inspired by @beckyninja ' Titus x Reader fics and @hatsubara-8chan' s Titus x Theia art. Thank you guys for giving me the confidence and inspiration to finally do something with my own oc :)
I know x reader stuff is my forte, but it would mean so much if you guys checked this series out too. It was super fun to write and I think you all will really enjoy it.
As always, apologies for grammar and spelling mistakes. While this part is sfw, some future parts will be nsfw but I'll note that up the top. Typical 40kness and violence, also I've just gone and made up an entire og backstory for Gadriel lol.
Hope you guys enjoy! And thank you so much for reading xoxox
Love, Memestrider :)
Ellicent sobbed into his shoulder, soaking his collar and staining it dark. She'd been like this for ages; she didn't know how many, but it was enough that the grimy windows in front of them had darkened to black slabs with the disappearance of the sun and rolling in of night. She felt embarrassed by it. Ashamed. Kids down here lost their parents all the time, and her Dad had been sick for a long time. Knowing that should've made it easier, but it didn't. Her heart was still shattered. Her soul split in half by a stake of grief and anguish. She sobbed like a baby. Like a weak thing that the Underhive should and would eat alive.
But he didn't seem to mind.
His grip was as gentle as it was tight, as if he were trying to wring the sadness from her very being. He stroked her hair, rubbed her back, let her hide her face in the crook of his neck.
"I'm sorry, Ellie," he said. He'd said it many times before, but this one was no less genuine or earnest. Ellicent's throat ached too much to reply, so she only shook her head.Tentatively, he drew away from her. Not enough to break their embrace all together: just enough so he could look her in the eye.
"You know we have to leave him here, right?"
Swallowing another sob, Ellicent nodded. Down here, there were no medical services or law enforcement to collect the dead: there were only scavengers and cannibals. They'd find her Dad eventually, but if they kept her Dad in here, he might stay safe for a little longer.
"I know," she said. "But... but what about me? I can't- I can't stay here."He answered without hesitation or thought. "You can come stay with me."
"Wha- what?"
"I know Mum will let you. And if she says no, I'll make her. But she won't say no. I know she won't."
A dozen questions sat on Ellicent's tongue, but she was either too tired or too sad to ask. Sinking into his arms again, she wiped her eyes on his shoulder. "Okay."
"It'll be okay, Ellie. I promise, it'll be okay." Ellicent closed her eyes.
"Thank you, Gadriel," she whispered.

"Remind me," Chairon says, using the box so he could be heard over the rumble of the Thunderhawk. "Which xenos is our target supposedly allied with?"
Gadriel checks the slide of his bolter for the umpteenth time.
"The dark eldar," he replies. "Specifically, the pack that has made this planet their favoured hunting ground."
"What about the necrons?"
"What about them?"
"Did the briefing not state that Severus' gang often makes use of necron technology?"
"It did," Gadriel says. "But that technology is stolen. Pillaged from only the Emperor knows where."
Through the static of the vox, Chairon's scowl sounds particularly vicious. "Damned heretics. Have they no pride or dignity to speak of at all?"
"Of course they don't."
Gadriel looks to his left where Titus sits beside him. Like his and Chairon's, the face of the lieutenant's helm is cast as a mouthless, red eyed glare. Somehow, though, Titus' glare appears even more intimidating.
"Creatures like Severus are among the worst kind of heretic," he says. "Chaos can corrupt the unwilling. Mutancy can affect the innocent. But to work with the alien? To turn one's back on their own species? That is a choice. One that is made willingly, without coercion or subterfuge.
"An uneasy silence settles across the vox. For a long while, the only sound comes from the roar of the Thunderhawk's engine and the collective of the three Astartes' power armour. Eventually, Gadriel is the one to break it by clearing his throat.
"Forgive me for saying so, sir. But, it sounds as if you speak from experience."
Titus turns his head towards Gadriel. The dim bar lights lining the Thunderhawk's interior reflect sharply off the golden laurels welded around his helmet's crown.
"You remain as sharp as ever, brother," the lieutenant remarks. "And you would be right. Severus' gang is not the first group of xenos collaborators I've encountered."
He pauses for a second. "As I said, they are the worst kind of heretic. Worse than political dissenters or atheist zealots. By a long, long way."
Silence falls once more. This time, however, it is morose. Sober. Behind his helmet, Gadriel chews the inside of his cheek in thought. It's a habit he's had ever since he was a boy- one so innate, not even Astartes re-education could snuff it out. He's reviewing the mission briefing in his head. Specifically, the intelligence regarding their target. Archibald Severus- a rogue trader turned planetary crime lord. Typically, such a man would not be a concern for the Astartes- such things were usually handled by the Inquisition alone. But Severus has been particularly problematic; almost all of his people wield necron weaponry and his Drukhari allies have all but brought the planet to its knees. Also, the Ultramarines just so happened to be in the area. Fortunate for the people who live here, though not so much for Severus. The last thought amuses Gadriel enough to make him smile. Yes. Very unfortunate for him indeed.

The Thunderhawk drops the fireteam amidst the exterior district of a hive city. The street upon which it lands is wide, dusty and long abandoned. Blade and plasma scars line the walls of every surrounding building, reminders of the countless dark eldar attacks the city has endured over Severus' tenure here. The Astartes quite literally hit the ground running. Bolters in hand, their objective's location marker pulsing in the top centre of their heads up displays. The objective in question is a warehouse- once a hangar for Imperial Guard aircraft, now just as abandoned as the rest of the district. Severus will supposedly be there, though the exact reasons why are unknown. But that doesn't matter to Gadriel. If the man is there, he will die. As surely as the blood of the Primarch flows through Gadriel's veins, that traitorous xenos-sellout will die.
The warehouse in question emerges from around the next street corner. It looks like a giant concrete brick dropped in the middle of the district block. Gadriel falls in behind his brothers, covering the rear while Titus leads the way and Chairon covers their flanks from the centre. But the area is empty. As if the entire district had been evacuated or disappeared. Considering what this place has endured over the last several years, that is probably not far from the truth.
"Gadriel," Titus says over the vox, breaking Gadriel's reverie. "Auspex."
The team halts against a nearby wall. The warehouse is now directly in front of them. Moving in perfect unison, Gadriel switches position with Chairon. He sidles up beside Titus, takes one hand off his bolter to extract the Auspex scanner clasped to his belt. He holds the device up and studies the screen for several seconds.
"Motion detected," he reports. "Ten hostiles, one hundred and fifty metres ahead. Baseline, by the sizes of the pulse."
"One must be Severus," Chairon says.
"Hopefully," Gadriel replies.
"But not certainly," Titus says. The lieutenant says nothing more, but Gadriel hears his unspoken order nonetheless: maintain your guard.
Despite their size and weight, the Astartes move like panthers on the prowl. As it is still light outside, they stick to the shadows where they can. Reaching one of the warehouse's walls, the fireteam lines up, Gadriel in front with time with Titus and Chairon covering him.
"We will breach the wall here," Titus says. "Overwhelm them with speed and surprise."
Chairon and Gadriel both acknowledge the order with a curt "yes sir". Internally, however, Gadriel is somewhat amused by Titus' choice in tactics. *One would be forgiven for thinking we were White Scars. All we're missing are the jet bikes.*
Chairon moves in between his brothers. He holster his bolter to his hip before reaching for his belt and extracting a fist-sized breaching charge. He plants the explosive on the wall, primes it with a button press, then motions for Titus and Gadriel to stand clear. Gadriel crouches down on one knee. His secondary heart joins his primary in beating, flooding his body with adrenaline. He looks between his brothers. Both give him nods of acknowledgement. Chairon touches his forearm, ready to activate the charge. As his fingertip brushes the button, however, Gadriel's Auspex let's out a chime.
"Hold," Gadriel says before pulling up the scanner. He furrow his eyebrows in confusion.
"What is it?" Titus asks.
"The Auspex has changed. All but one of the pulses have vanished."
"Vanished?" Chairon asks.
"That's what I said."
"But how?"
"I do not know."
"It matters not," Titus growls. "Chairon, blow the charge n-"
Before he can finish giving the order, the wall explodes on its own.
The shockwave slams into Gadriel with the force of a meteorite. It throws him backward, knocking him off his feet, sending him rolling over his side before landing on flat on his front. All three of his lungs are emptied of air and his ears ring as if glass were being shattered inside his skull. Gadriel ignores it all. Recovering his footing with staggering ease before raising his bolter in the direction of the enemy.
Only he can see nothing. Just the charred concrete debris at his feet and a wall of thick black smoke. Even through his helmet's filters, the smell of it is choking. Like the polluted air of an Underhive amplified and condensed. Gadriel clenches his jaw.
A gas grenade. Only it exploded with the force of a breaching charge.
It has to be Severus. He must have known they were coming, that they were there. Gadriel curses to himself.
We were too loud. Too forward. Not cautious enough...
"Brothers! Status!" Titus' voice crackles over the vox. Gadriel whips around to try and find the lieutenant, but the damned smoke is too opaque. "Alive and unharmed," Gadriel hisses. "But can't see a damn thing."
"Acknowledged." By contrast, Titus' voice is calm and level. "Chairon? What's your status?"
No reply. A fury like fire ignites in Gadriel's chest. "Brother!" he shouts. "Are you there? Tell us where you are!"
A flash of light catches his peripheral vision. Gadriel spins to face it, snapping his bolter sights up as he does. It's small, but sustained, growing in luminosity with every second. But that isn't what makes Gadriel's breath hitch. It's the colour. A shocking, neon green. Too vivid to be natural, too bright to be electronic.
Gadriel's eyes widen. His thoughts scream a single, terrible name.
Necrons.
With an plasmic screech, the particle beam blazes towards him. It aims for his chest, right over his primary heart. Gadriel manages to twist out of the way in time, but not before the beams edge grazes the top of the aquillia on his breastplate. Gadriel aims his bolter in the direction the green light, only for it to vanish as he opens fire.
"Contact!" he shouts down the vox to Titus. "Necron weaponry confirmed!"
The light reappears on his left. Much closer than before. Gadriel fires upon it and he hears his bolter round sing as they slam into alien metal. He dive-rolls to the side, anticipating another particle beam. But no such shot comes. Instead, the light swells. Growing from a dot to a long, curved streak.
"Throne!" Gadriel hisses. Throwing his bolter into the holster on his thigh, he draws his power sword. Just in time to parry the crackling, green energy blade that comes careening towards his head. Both weapons spark and hiss when they make contact. Faster than a blinking eye, Gadriel surges forwards to slash at the arm holding the necron blade. But his opponent is quicker. Smoke swirling about them, they duck his attack before launching a kick at his knee. Pain spikes through Gadriel's leg and he feels his balance slip. It surprises him. There aren't many things that can kick out an armoured Astartes' knee.
A necron warrior, though, is definately one of them.
The energy blade comes for his head again. Gadriel throws his chin up to avoid it, but in the process looses what little balance he has left. He lands on his back hard, grunting as the last of the air in his lungs is forced out by the impact. In the same instant, his opponent is on top of him. Erupting from the smoke like a daemon from the Warp pinning him down by crouching on his breastplate.
Now close enough to see them through the smoke, Gadriel lays eyes on his attacker for the first time. What he sees, he can only describe as abominable. At first glance, they are human- female, from her shape and build- clad in tattered, studded leather characteristic of those from an Underhive. Her hair is a stunning shade of scarlet and she has it up in a pony tail so long it flows behind her like a cape of ribbons. But that is where all semblance of her humanity ends. Instead of a left arm, she has a robotic appendage, the clawed, green-veined forelimb of a necron warrior, with a green plasma blade bursting from its knuckles. The same is true of her right leg, the foot of which is pressed savagely into Gadriel's chest, strong enough to keep the Astartes pinned. A necron rifle- the source of the particle beams, surely- hangs from a strap looped across her back.
Hatred contorts Gadriel's face into a snarl. Abandoning his power sword he reaches for his bolter, which is still holstered to his thigh. Wrenching the weapon free, he throws it up just as the cyborg-abomination above him raises her energy blade. Her face, too, is twisted into a snarl.
Time suddenly slows. Gadriel's finger stops shy of the trigger.
Her face...
Hatred turns to confusion turn to shock. His thoughts are a racing, jumbled mess. His mouth opens without him realising and he hears his own voice. It speaks a name he hasn't heard in over fifty years.
"... Ellie?"
The cyborg freezes. The snarl on her lips dies.
"G- Gadriel?"
Both of Gadriel's hearts stop. His mind is simultaneously paralysed and raging like a warpstorm. His bolter falls from his hand, clattering off his breastplate to land beside him. Gadriel doesn't even notice.
"Sergeant!" a voice bellows over the vox.
Sparks suddenly burst from the woman's back. As quickly as it had vanished her snarl returns. Leaping off Gadriel, she whips around. Her energy blade retracts into her arm and she reaches for her rifle. Gadriel turns his head to see Titus charging for them with his bolter raised.
The woman hesitates. Glances at Gadriel. Behind his visor, Gadriel meets her gaze. His eyes become wide and watery.
It can't be.
More of Titus' rounds slam into her, this time pinging off her necronian arm. She staggers backward, dropping her rifle so it's swinging limp against her hip. Another moment of hesitation. Gadriel opens his mouth to call her name again. But before the word can leave his lips, she's moving again. Turning her back and vanishing into the smoke screen. When it finally fades, there is no sign of her. Not even a drop of blood.
Gadriel swallow thickly. A lump has formed in his throat, large enough to make it difficult for him to breathe.
"Brother!" Titus clasps his arm, hauling Gadriel up into a sitting position. "Are you alright? Are you wounded?"
Gadriel says nothing. He doesn't remember how to speak. Nor can he even see his brother kneeling beside him. The only thing his mind can see is her. The day her father died. The day on the rooftop. The night they had spent together in her bed.
"Promise me you'll come back."
"I promise."
"I love you."
"I-"
"Brother?" The concern in Titus' voice is palpable now. "Gadriel. Can you hear me?"
Gadriel finally looks at the lieutenant. He nods, but still refuses to speak. He doesn't trust himself to. He's afraid that if he did, he might start to weep.

→ Red Ink.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kuchiki Byakuya x Fem!reader.
Rating: Mature.
Setting: Post TYBW.
Warnings: Spoilers for the final chapter of the manga, nudity, self-care, fluff, implied smut.
Word Count: 2.5k
Summary: Red and ink write your destiny.
Tumblr media
“Abarai Ichika!”
You call out as you chase the small ball of red hair and mischief. The little menace giggles as she runs through the corridors of the Kuchiki Manor, and you go after her, “Come back here!”
The reason for this little pursuit is in Ichika’s small hand and practically on her forehead. She stole some ink and a brush from the hall of the Calligraphy Club, which is chaired by Lord Byakuya himself, and decided to have a special paint on her face. I want my eyebrows to be super cool like my dad’s, she said when you caught her red-handed, or ink-handed so to speak. In the process, she screwed up some parchments of the club’s members, particularly, her uncle's.
Drops of ink trail behind her as she sprints with the agility of a cat whereas your feet start to hurt. You slow down in your tracks to catch your breath, then you sigh with a shake of your head when you realise it's pointless to go after her.
You've been one of Ichika's nannies since she was a baby. One of the trusted women whom the elders of House Kuchiki dispatched over to the Abarai residence because her father and mother are a working couple, and more so when Lady Rukia became the new captain of the Thirteenth Squad.
You sigh, refusing the defeat. Your feet move again. In times like this, your gist of being that girl's nanny should show now.
The Kuchiki Estate has been your home since forever. Being the only daughter of the mansion's grand butler, you were brought up side by side with the young master, Kuchiki Byakuya, the heir of the noble clan at the time. So, you know every and each secret passage in this building. Including the hall where The Shinigami Women's Association used to take place.
You slide through a secret door within a wall, and you appear before Ichika whose stupor is blatant on her face. However, she quickly recovers and braces herself and makes a detour, slipping through your hands as you readied yourself to catch her.
You groan in frustration. “I’m gonna kill you, child!” Your threat is pompous of course; you love the girl and her parents, and most definitely her uncle.
Ages before what mordant complications of a noble's life in the Seireitei entailed — the current head of one of the Five Great Noble Clans no less, Byakuya used to find great solace in your companionship despite the insufferable nonsense the hot-headed young lord had had you to deal with in moments of jitteriness. You were his confidant, his best friend.
Unlike most of the Seireitei's lords, his grandfather, Lord Kuchiki Ginrei, allowed the two of you to grow a unique bond in spite of the broad difference between your posts. The oldman was kind and generous enough to let his only grandson, his heir, to befriend a girl of a lower status. Furthermore, he did appreciate the notion of his grandson having a close one whom harboured nothing but loyalty and love in her heart for the young lord. Someone he could depend on when the going gets tough. For he knew, he knew that a high post such as theirs was a magnet for beguiling hypocrites and lickspittles. And a wise lord always needs his small and close circle of trustworthy people, regardless of their standing, to counsel and guide him when he is in need of advice and different points of views.
It's little to no wonder when people are struck with stupor when they learn that the frigid Captain of the Sixth Squad was a troublesome one in his early young days. Shihouin Yoruichi and Ukitake Jūshirō can affirm it; small wonder who Little Ichika takes after. He had such a remarkable ambition to be a leader like his grandfather. His determined dedication and unstoppable force of will were admirable to say the least. And to you they were more than admirable.
Over the years of being brought up with the young lord, your affections for him have altered. In your late adolescent years, you noticed the heat dusting your cheeks red whenever you came to the training hall to watch him train and build up his physique. You were a witness of the evolution of his voice, from high-pitched of a boy to deep and reverent of a man, a lord. And your love and respect for him only grew bigger and… wilder.
No matter how much you reminded yourself of who and what you were to put a bridle on those sprouting feelings, you only grew much more fond of him, regardless of his massive character change. For you knew, beneath the mask of the solid lord, there was the boy you fell in love with.
Within the Manor's endless corridors, where Lord Byakuya is strolling leisurely, he's having rather an important conversation with an elder of the Central 46. Byakuya sent for them to send a delegation to discuss a matter of importance for House Kuchiki.
Byakuya enunciates with that lilt to his voice. “I’d like my niece, Lady Ichika, to be my legal heir.” The tone he speaks in is firm, void of hesitation that hints at several vigilant nights of reflection.
The wise elder is struck with astonishment, yet he's quick to regain his aplomb, “Your niece is still too little to receive such a title, Your Lordship.”
“I was younger than her when I was anointed as my lord grandfather's heir.” Byakuya retorts with reason.
The elder chuckles nervously, “Well, you're your father's son, and you were next in line for the succession, milord. Lady Rukia is no—”
“Is not what, wise man?” Byakuya raises a brow.
“Is no true blood of yours, Kuchiki-sama.”
Byakuya stops in his track, stunned by the man's insolence towards his sister. “What do you mean by that, Your Reverence?”
“What I mean is crystal clear, milord,” The man says, “Lady Ichika cannot bequeath the legacy of House Kuchiki.”
Byakuya’s voice remains stringent, “Need I remind you, Your Reverence, that Central 46 accepted Rukia as my sister.”
“Adoptive sister.” The man corrects.
“Either way, Rukia holds the Kuchiki's name as well as I do.” Byakuya argues, “And do tread carefully, Your Reverence, you're stepping on rotten ice. Any disrespect to my sister and her family, would be considered disrespect to my person.”
“Pardon me, milord, but we urge you to marry again and produce heirs—”
A loud shriek cut through the air, and both men turn on their heels towards the source of it. A ball of red and ink pelt at Byakuya's feet, and Ichika's violet eyes — that reminds him of Rukia — meet his grey ones.
“Uncle!” She smiles up at him, one incisor tooth missing.
“Gods!” You gasp as you reach them. “I’m terribly sorry, Byakuya-sama!”
He seldom smiles after his wife's death. But you've got used to see him smiling more after Ichika was born. It warms your heart to see him smiling. You're only bitter that you're not the reason for his smiles.
Byakuya scooches down and cradles Ichika in his arms and lifts her up, she giggles and nuzzles into his hold.
“I see you found my ink collection, little one.”
She giggles, “I just wanted cool eyebrows like Papa's, but (Y/N) won't let me!”
He glances at you, and you blush as he sees your painted face and crumpled clothes. He arches a brow.
“Well, if you want tattoos like your father's, that has to wait until your old enough.”
“But uncle!” She whines and you chuckle.
“Abomination…” You hear the elder mutter, and you flinch. Did you just hear what you think you heard?
“Excuse me?” You snap, “How dare you insult Lady Ichika in her lord uncle’s house!”
“Guard your tongue, servant,” Then he looks at Byakuya, “You should punish that servant for overstepping her place!”
“The only one who's overstepped his place is you, Your Reverence.” Your heart leaps to your throat as you hear Byakuya defending you. “Leave.” He orders.
“The Elders won't let this slip by, Your Lordship.” The elder speaks with spite.
“Neither will I.”
With that, the elder turns and leaves the hall.
Tumblr media
You sigh in relief as your body submerges in the hot water of the private onsen. What a day, you think.
You savour the sweet silence that plunges the whole Manor after everyone retired to their beds. You're grateful that Ichika was out like a light, with a toy of her uncle’s Wakame Ambassador tugged under her tiny arm. Her mom and dad are on a mission, and Byakuya was more than glad to have her for a couple of days in his hospitality. And it was you who accompanied her here.
You sigh again, letting the hot water do its magic to ease your tense muscles. That little troublemaker is a handful, a cute handful that makes your back sore from running after her. You chuckle, rubbing the muscles of your shoulders. You think of her uncle. Byakuya. Your heart paces up. He literally stood against a representative of the Central 46 for you. Well, technically, he stood up for his niece, but you're desperate enough to take it for you.
Your hand slid delicately between your legs. A soft moan escapes your mouth as you apply pressure at your swollen bud. While your fingers play with it, your mind drifts back to him. Lord Byakuya, your forbidden fruit.
“Ahh, Byakuya…” You sigh, adding more pressure to your clit.
Then out of nowhere, you hear footsteps. You sink deeper into the water, “Who’s there?” And suddenly you're worried they heard your moans.
Your eyes dilate when they fall on none other than Lord Byakuya himself. A fierce blush touches your cheeks, instinctively covering your breasts with your arms. You reach for a towel to cover yourself and leave.
He isn't supposed to be here, you made sure everyone was asleep when you decided to have some self-care in his private onsen.
“At ease…” He stops you, and you blink. Is he serious? Well, Byakuya always is. So, you refrain from approaching the towel, whereas he drops his bathrobe and lets you watch him walk over into the water with his glorious nakedness. You sink again in the water, trying to look away, but you can't when his impressive length is on full display. Is he hard because of you?
You're awash by disappointment as his body is now blurred by the water.
“B-Byakuya-sama?! What are you doing here?”
Oblivious to your own effect, Byakuya feels flames crossing his loins while watching you playing with yourself in such a divine state. Your head hung backwards as your lips cracked open in a lewd moan.
Byakuya holds his breath.
His bold gaze doesn't waver from you, as his deep, resonant voice says, “Shouldn't I be asking that question, (Y/N)?”
Your head is at the verge of exploding from mortification; at that very moment, you wish the ground to split open and swallow you up.
“I-I’m sorry…” You mumble, looking away.
“No need to apologise,” He says, “Handling Ichika the way you do, earns such a treat. So, please…” He extends his hand, “Don’t let my presence bother you…”
You glance back at him then down at the water swirling around you. Your heart throbbing in your chest that you fear he can hear its call for him.
At some point, you thought your love for him would deflate after his marriage to Hisana, but you were wrong. It only added fuel to the fire within your spirit. You claimed you knew him but you didn't. You were self-convinced that he'd never regard you more than a close friend due to your status. However, his marriage to Hisana was the ultimate proof of your cowardness. Because he married a commoner, so were you.
“I could never be bothered by your presence, Byakuya…”
And just like that, his name slips through your lips like silk, and for the time in forever, you see Byakuya's body shiver.
Thick silence reigns over the air, until he breaks it, “Thank you for taking care of Ichika.”
Your toes curl under the water. Small talk. Kuchiki Byakuya is doing small talk while you're both naked in the hot spring. Talk about awkward situations.
You shake your head, “It’s nothing, Byakuya-sama, I'm just doing my job.”
“If it is so, I think you might have quitted the very first day.”
You chuckle, “I love Ichika, she can be a handful, but I still love her. I love her parents.” I love you. “Taking care of her is like taking care of a younger sibling.”
“That pleases me,” He answers, “Ichika needs people who truly love her… for her.”
You allow a smile to slip on your lips. That's the true Byakuya, the one you grew up with, your Byakuya.
“You honour me with your words, Byakuya-sama.”
“Those aren't just my words, (Y/N),” He says, “Those are my sentiments.”
Why is he approaching you while talking about his sentiments? Naked no less. You start to panic.
You choose to stare at his torso as he dwarfs you with his height. He tips your chin up with his slender fingers. His smokey eyes piercing through your souls. Then, he leans in and pecks your lips softly. It's brief, but slow enough to taste his mouth. Within those moments, the world stops and has only you and him.
“I love you.” You find yourself whispering when he breaks the kiss.
Byakuya gives you a rare grin, one that reminds you of the boy you fell in love with.
“Marry me…”
Your eyes go wide, then they search him. Is he pulling your leg like the old days? You hope so, but deep down you don't.
“Yes or no…”
“Byakuya…”
“Today, when that oaf asked me to get married again and produce heirs… it was you who I thought of.”
Sweet crimson dusts over your cheek at his confession. “But Byakuya—”
“I love you too…”
It's your turn to kiss him. He kisses back.
There's a lot to process right now, but you only focus on his lips.
“Yes,” You murmur against his lips. “I would love to be your wife, Byakuya-sama.” You give him a toothy grin to which he responds with a conceited smirk.
“Good girl.” He murmurs and you blush.
“And you're a bad boy…” You say, “You want to marry me so you can rub it in the elders’ faces.”
To anyone, Byakuya is a fuddy-duddy, but your Byakuya is a rule breaker.
“You know me so well.”
You grin at him. “I think I do.”
Byakuya proceeds to kiss you again, this time slowly, deliberately, as if he's conveying how he actually feels about you. He hoists you up and carries you to his chambers when you make love. You can't believe this, if this is some cruel dream it better end now, but it doesn't, because the next day, you wake up as the new Lady Kuchiki.

"Guess it would make things easier if one know how Gaia Gifts worked, though my dad used to say sometimes you might not like the answer." Twist was sure they could be any number of reasons, though that included ones that weren't ideal. The lemur was sure there are people still trying to figure out, though that was their choice. He was fine with not knowing nor did he intend to try and find out.
Twist would follow Dawn to where they were taking care of the injured. "We should try to move everyone we can. My contacts said they want to do an investigation so that means The Restoration will have to be shut down for a bit. Clearly they won't do that with people still hurt." The lemur did know they'd be a bit pushy so best to try and get as many out as possible.
===========================================================
"I would certainly hope so seeing as I sentenced them to be your personal bodyguards, though I suppose that shall have to wait." Yara was sure it'd be better that Rough and Tumble not attend the talk with President Thawne until he can clear everything with G.U.N. "In the meantime I suppose I shall get whatever information these two have on Clutch as I'm sure G.U.N will see that as a fair trade off." The royal was sure it'd be an easy deal to manage.
Tumblr media
"Geez, now we gotta remember all those dumb orders and anything we saw." Rough's memory has never been the best when it came to certain things. Anything boring he didn't pay too much attention to, and the long orders were just hard for him to remember everything. Though the skunk couldn't recall anything too odd other than the scheme to get rid of The Restoration.
Tumblr media
"Well, he didn't really say anything worth of note when we were around, and we did the normal grunt work. I suppose the only thing I find odd was him wanting us to take all of The Restorations cash. Clean Sweep made a lot of money, and there were easier ways to get The Restoration to go out of business." Tumble wondered why he wanted them to take the money they made.
Tumblr media
"Good luck trying to figure out what these two morons know, if anything at all. We gotta jet." Surge would grab Jewel's shoulder and then dashed off. It didn't take the tenrec long to find the entrance back into The Restoration from the sewer. After that it was just a matter of dashing all the way to the command center. Which was done in a matter of seconds as the speedster came sliding to a stop. "If you gotta throw up, then do it now." She stopped at the door to the command center.
It was no surprise to dawn that Twist struggled to understand a gift of gaia. It wasn't really something most mobians thought about at least not the why. most just accepted that some of them were born special, and gifted. To some it was being touched by light gaia and to others it was thought to be a curse of Dark Gaia. Still many more informed thought was simple mutation but, the truth was no body really knew. Mobians were just born gifted, or curse and had to live with there abilities. Dawn never believed for a second it was worth thinking to deeply on.
" hah! no problem, honestly i wish i knew the real reason but ya know my ma' use to say--- some mysteries in life are meant to stay a mystery. Now go clean your room! "
Her duplicate smiled as she lead twist down the hall to the triage wing where many of the worse injuries were being kept. Lots of duplicates rushed around with carts and first aid kits trying to care for many patients.
" Yea, Capitalism is always a drag... But i bet there is some program to help out. Well anyway it was just a thought..."
Her ear twitched at the mention of watching someone lose an arm and being fine. She had to endure such wounds during the war, and while her duplicates tended to disappear when suffered major injury. She still had vivid memories of getting sliced up, crushed, or maimed during the war. It didn't leave a mark on the real dawn but the mental trauma of enduring was everlasting mark on her psyche.
" Here we are... come on let's get these folks patched up... and ready for transfer to GUN's facility. Least the ones we can move! "
=============================================
In truth Jewel didn't know much about Yara's family but they did have a well known reputation concerning thieves. Made her wonder if that's how he lost his tail, or if he was born that way. She just hoped the prince would treat them well and not be to hard on them. She made a mental note to check up on them later. though Surge's report did seem to worry her to no end. Why was GUN being so cruel? she'd always had goo report with Mr. Tower, and now this?
Tumblr media
" I See... that's still concerning. Thank you Surge for the update. Also thank you again Highness... your talents are still most welcome. But i did mean what i said. I expect you to treat the boys well... i'll be checking on them to insure they aren't mistreated in the days ahead...everyone deserves a chance at redemption after all."
She turned to Surge and buzzed up to eye level as she felt it helped her seem more commanding.
" Surge i need you to get me back to command as soon as possible. I can't help but feel my place is in the command center with the others. With things feeling a bit dire... i need to try and contact General Tower and see what is actually going on... i can't believe he'd authorize a move like this..."

What are ur Bride and Fishbride hcs? 👀
Oh anon I’m so glad you asked :3 I’ll do my Bride hcs here and then another ask asked for bride or fishbride hcs so I’ll answer fishbride over there! I’ll link that here once I make it.
But for now, THE BRIDE HEADCANONS!!!
Tumblr media
TW // mentions of grooming
So her ethnicity is kinda tricky since yknow… she’s kinda made of a bunch of different people. To me, however, I see her as Pokolistani/Indian/Puerto Rican (I love latinofying my faves lol). Unrealistic? Sure but she’s also a walking corpse who’s dating a fish woman so 🇮🇳🇵🇷!!!
And the reason she has a British accent is because she spent a long time in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 which is where she really refined her speaking abilities
Ur honor she is a lesbian! She struggled with comphet when she first escaped, but eventually she got the confidence within herself to accept herself for who she truly is.
I feel like over the years she’s become somewhat indifferent to pronouns and such, but she prefers she/her out of all of them.
Severe PTSD
It took her a long time to realize she was created to just be an object for Eric, but it took her even longer to realize and even more longer to accept that Victor groomed her
Will never refer to Eric with his name. It will always be brute, monster, or something of the sort
Really likes reading! She’s read through the entirety of Belle Reve’s library at least twice
Works out as much as possible. It helps her get her mind off of things
Has the ability to take her limbs off Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas style, but it hurts like hell to take them off and takes a lot of willpower to control them so she doesn’t do it often.
This diva does her own nails💅
Very flexible. I see her doing Bayonetta type poses while fighting
Great dancer. Learned a lot of different styles of dance along her trek around the world
Snatches things from the places they go to for missions (jewelry, heirlooms, vases, all sorts of trinkets) she has a little treasure trove under her bunk
She’ll give the ones she finds the prettiest to Nina
As I mentioned in my Nina headcanons, they’re very very close and it hurts her to see Nina in any physical/mental/emotional pain
The Bride is rather protective of all the members as she gets closer to them over time, but especially over Nina since she’s the closest to her
Bride and Weasel are like that meme of “dads with the dog they didn’t want”
Despite their frequent arguing, she treats Phosphorus like an old friend and they love sneaking out of missions to get drinks together
The Bride really appreciates him since it’s her first male friendship which she was quite hesitant on.
She likes GI Robot. But she really likes using him to fuck with people. AKA, if anyone pisses her off with GI close to her, she’ll go, “Sounds like something a nazi would say…” which will cause GI to pull out his weapons to scare whoever she said that too. Nina doesn’t like when she does this, but Phosphorus finds it absolutely hilarious
Knowledgeable on weaponry. She teaches Nina and Phosphorus how to use all sorts of guns, knives, etc
Blames herself for Nina’s death. She will never ever let her walls down and love anyone the same way again. Cries to herself sometimes when she thinks of her.
Yay hoped you like them :3 Fishbride hcs soon!

My final Onyx Storm theories, in bullet point form, because it's been fun but I'm tired LMAO. Some of these contradict each other, you'll notice, but I feel like they're equally possible (or maybe I'm just delulu!) 🤪
Below the cut, because it's long and some people aren't interested in being on the delulu train (fair). No spoilers for anything past Iron Flame below, though if you follow any links there might be some for the first four chapters of OS, from the preview 🖤🐉✨
Tumblr media
· Xaden Liarson is a full inntinnsic, sorry not sorry 😌
· Xaden's going into the rybestad chest and Bodhi will pretend to be him (a theory since Jan '24)
· Xaden's mother is venin. Read more on this horrifying thought process here 😬
· Violet is not a truthsayer—I'm not sold on what her second signet is, but my guess is either a full inntinnsic (more likely because rebecca said it would be underwhelming) or precognition (my og guess! and my wish, pls rebecca! a crumb for me?)🔮
· Violet is going to go to the venin at some point in the book, hence the tagline "brave the dark" because she's ride or die for Xaden and he will still be venin!
· We'll see more of the magic-amplifying gemstones in Poromiel 💎
· We're only going to Poromiel, the Isle Kingdoms will be next book 🗺
· Professor Grady is venin. Here's why I think so.
· Naolin is alive and I'm going to fucking hate Tairn for it for knowing and lying to our girl 😤
· Rhiannon or Bodhi will die 💀
· If it's Rhiannon I bet Xaden kills her. He's absolutely killing someone by accident guaranteed 💯
· Violet’s dad’s name will be in her mother’s journals and that’s how we’ll learn it and I'm betting it’s either Sam (like Samael) or Adam, for the biblical connotation.
· Oh also, he was murdered ☠️🍄
· Viscount Tecarus is working with the venin, he's sus as fuck.
· Viscount Tecarus hamstrung the Tyrrish rebellion by betraying them to Navarre (because he's working with the venin).
· We get to meet Drake!! I hope he's as handsome as we believe 🥺
· Sloane finds out Aaric is Cam and feels betrayed (which breaks my heart) 💔
· Speaking of Aaric, my bet for his signet is distance wielding 💨
· Brennan (the ASSHOLE) is a traitor. I mean, he's already a traitor in my eyes, but I also think he's going to turn out to be a bad guy. Super sus 😠
· Xaden gets jealous of Halden whether he's Vi's ex or not—because jealousy is delicious in minimal amounts and I think Rebecca will go there. I'm not sure that he's Violet's ex though, because that age gap is...dubious...
· I think maybe Garrick is an empath if we're following that Chradh means 'pain' and Chradh is more sensitive to runes. I like that for him. Big bear, feels feelings. Also, there are no horses in his stable. He's a liar! (And he loves Imogen)
· Andarna's den are from the Isle Kingdoms and we won't be seeing them until the next book. I actually think this book might end with Vi sailing off from some Poromish port to find them, TOG vibes ⛵️
· I think the Fables of the Barren 'demonises dragons' because Andarna's den simply do not care and will refuse to help. They could have put more wards up around other areas but they just dipped, so 🤷‍♀️
· Dain is a good guy.…..that's not a theory, I just wanted to remind you all 😇
· PS. I haven’t shared my theory for how veninism will be cured if it is cured at all, because I don’t think it will be happening in this book, but also because I want to use it in my fanfic and if I can keep it a secret until then, all the better 🤣
