Me and my friends stayed up till like 1 am reading GGY last night and honestly my headache rn is worth it :v loved it 💕

GGY theory dump that i already posted in the replies to my fic (where it was brought up) but i wanted to post it here too cuz i have strong feelings on it and i haven’t seen anyone bring it up (if they have and i just missed that everyone acknowledged this at some point, forgive me lol)

FUCKING FINBARR. i don’t trust this guy AT ALL and i don’t think we’re supposed to

like the evidence is in fact right there in the book (the freddy thing IMMEDIATELY AFTER explaining the ggy thing to finbarr, rab suddenly catching on despite being distracted w ellis and having no clue about the paper ISN’T weird to yall?)

but also! Finbarr (Finnbhear) is the king of the fairies yes, this is explained in the book. WHAT THEY DON’T EXPLAIN, is he’s known for leading young people (“young maidens” but still relevant) to trick them and trap them forever. don’t believe me?

relevant last line is very relevant. sure tony’s not a girl, but i don’t think the actual figure’s intentions (for obvious reasons.) are important as much as the theme of takes notice of someone, takes them away forever.

again, something fae in general are known for, not just this guy. is that not weird? that a series with predominantly Christian themes (ffs, ucn is Hell.) suddenly has this? idk maybe it’s just cuz it’s one of my favorite interests, but that’s a very interesting name to pick when that’s the first result that comes from researching it.

also lil side note: rabbit/hares (it’s usually hares but shhh) are such an important symbol in celtic mythos cuz the represent luck n stuff but they’re also heavily associated with the Otherworld and the fae. hm.

especially since the other stuff is relevant too (crystal’s appearance is how An Morrigan is usually described, how she’s also a Goddess of Prophecy [SOMETHING TONY LITERALLY DOES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK. BOY LITERALLY PROPHESIED HIS DEATH] like crystal’s warning?? prophecy.) so i’m not even just looking into this too far, you’re probably SUPPOSED TO ACT LIKE TONY AND RESEARCH.

i mean the book literally says itself at the beginning that it’s a mystery wrapped in subplots that seem irrelevant but are actually quite important at understanding the key themes

Saint Finbarr, an Irish saint, who was well educated in Kilkenny, became a monk and was Cork’s first bishop. Legend has it that “God Himself” consecrated him bishop. He founded a monastery in Cork, where students and monks gathered to learn. It became an important center of learning in Ireland. He died of natural causes.

i finished TVM recently and I've rarely been so emotionally invested in a story- i would get so teary eyed every time esk talked about finbarr. the train scene with esk reminiscing about his passing had me putting the book down for a good hour to recover

I read the preview version of THE BLACK HORSE SAID a little while ago and I've just bought the full thing and before I read it I wanted to tell you about how what was on my mind for half of the preview was "man I wonder what faerie Bowman made a pact with to get his T."

he didn't have to make any pacts, medicine like that can be bought off of witches (who do make pacts). the better question is where the hell he got ye olde victorian bottom surgery

Okay, I'm really vague on what GGY is. Would you be willing to give a quick summary/synopsis?

-spiderman voice- Alright let’s do this one last time-

-ahem- so ! Book 5 of tales from the pizzaplex, the first story is called GGY. We have the main character, Tony Becker and his two friends Greg and Ellis :’> they get assigned to do a group project and Tony decides to do all the work (not very nice that his friends didn’t help but like - okay) he loves investigating right? Turns out some of the pizzaplex arcade games have crazy high scores all under the name of GGY. Tony decides that this is what the school project is going to be about so while his besties are playing games he starts asking around and researching. skipping to nearly the end, he’s connected everything to the disappearance of school counselors who entered the pizzaplex the last time they were seen alive, decides that hey…. I better stop getting involved in this- sends the story to his friends so they can review it but surprise surprise they change it and he is SO mad about it because??? All that work and danger to ruin his perfect research??? He decides his friends are not the best and don’t deserve nicknames anymore but that’s ok because his buddy Gregory invites him over to the pizzaplex at the end of the story to meet new friends that’ll cheer him up :>

You know something I find fascinating about Professor Calamitous?

It's that, if we set his evil plans aside, he is actually a nice person.

In the episode he gets introduced, "Professor Calamitous, I presume", he starts politely chatting with Jimmy while the kid is finishing his invention.

In "Operation: Rescue Jet Fusion" he offers both of them something to eat, probably actually edible, while he explains his plan.

I can't say anything about "The great egg heist" or "Lights! Camera! Danger!" Because they were both schemes where he barely talked to Jimmy outside his facades. And "My big fat spy wedding" only includes like- two lines.

In "The League of Villains" when the villains were talking about how they would kill Jimmy, he offers building a machine that includes EVERYONE'S PLANS. Just to get shut down because "it was too complicated". But he did mean "good".

In "Jimmy Timmy: power hour 2" he trusted Anti-Cosmo as his ally and looked genuinely hurt when Anti-Cosmo betrayed him. And he actually looked for a plan to get him AND Jorgen out?

In Nicktoons Unite he teamed up with all the other villains and from what we know they got along well.

Trauma piled up and he's never touching a big body of water again 😔 or sleeping well for that matter

Plus I accidentally made his legs short af, but like, I only noticed once I was done and am not about to redraw the whole thing so it's just gonna keep bothering me 😊

Also I have a small hc in my head that his granny from his fathers side was polish, hence the surname ✨ (I swear I'm pretty sure I had a friend with a similar surname in primary school)

The technician suit was not supposed to be this Puppet inspired but it kinda just exists now so

Post submechanophobia I can't really imagine him taking Roy's offer - one does not see a murder and live through an attempted one and then hop back in the same pool the next day, especially with the severe anxiety he already seems to have

He's now a pizzaplex technician, mainly delegated to fixing arcade machines and staff bots

And speaking of the arcade - that's how he's met Finbarr!

I liked drawing his hair a lot :)

His eyes were supposed to be hazel but I'm not sure if I did it right -

He's described as more bulky in the GGY story so I tried to give him a more Freddy esque silhouette (that's how you spell silhouette???? English is so weird)

He's also got piercings now! ;} they were added just for the vibe but I added a little story behind them on the ref

I'm not really sure who came up with the idea of Finbarr having freckles, but I saw a doodle in passing a few days ago and man that fits him well

He's a chill dude but takes his responsibilities very seriously - his family taught him to take pride in things he does

He can party, don't get me wrong, he's just well adjusted and doesn't go overboard
