Hey do you remember which EDA has 8 post earth arc monologue about not wanting his memories back? I remember him describing what he learned about his old life as like being told you had to move into a haunted house filled with monsters and terrors. I think about that quote a lot but I can’t seem to find it in my blog!

i do indeed remember! it’s in half-life, here’s the excerpt:

it absolutely drives me insane. it’s interesting because it reframes the doctors unwillingness to recover his memories as something he does because he’s afraid of losing his friends rather than losing his mind. it also shows that he thinks of these relationships as conditional?? which is insane because fitz is right there and would follow him everywhere on his hands and knees like a dog

Synopsis

Hurrah! The deadly Daleks are back! Yes, those lovable tinpot tyrants have another plan to invade our world. Maybe this time because they want to drill to the Earth's core. Or maybe because they just feel like it.

And when those pesky pepperpots are in town, there is one thing you can be sure of. There will be non-stop high octane mayhem in store. And plenty of exterminations!

But never fear. The Doctor is on hand to sort them out. Defender of the Earth, saviour of us all. With his beautiful assistant, Evelyn Smythe, by his side, he will fight once again to uphold the beliefs of the English Empire. All hail the glorious English Empire!

Now that sounds like a jubilee worth celebrating, does it not?

Synopsis

Currently watching: Dr Who! I'm up to The Dominators on my classic watchthrough and just reached The Next Doctor with my mum the other day on our tennant revision course.

Currently reading: Chris Claremont's X-Men! I've reached #110 and i'm going back (or forwards, rather) and reading the corresponding backup stories in the 80s Classic X-Men reprint series. I also started the 13th Skulduggery Pleasant the other day and I'm reading the current Loki, Planet of the Apes, Nightmare Country: The Glass House, and Ultimate Invasion comics as they come out monthly. I'm also a dozen or so issues into each of the initial krakoan era x men comics (stopping each before that first X of Swords crossover)

Current obsession: as you can tell. it's still comics, particularly x-men because I'm also watching the films (saw The Last Stand the other day, it's not as bad as i remember. Origins: Wolverine is the next one and I'm sure that one is)
