NO BECAJSE I KNOW OF THUS SO OFTEN!!!!
Tidus came from his nice cozy boat home, which probably had all his nice regression items, and was thrown into a universe where he can't even watch his favorite cartoons and has to do half this quest either on foot or a boat with almost no privacy!!!!
It's only a matter of time before he involuntarily regresses and suddenly all the others know of his regression!!
And especially with how Wakka babies him throughout the game, especially in the beginning!! The amount of times he almost regressed because Wakka ruffled his hair or treated him like a little brother!! Or Yuna spoke to him a little too softly, or Lulu let him hold her one of her stuffies!! (Fun Fact: I never sold a single one of those, even when I was broke or got the Onion Knight)
Or even the other characters!! Kimari is very furry, like a big stuffie!! Or Rikku whose super energetic and almost makes Tidus regress by a small game of tag!
I think the only person who'd originally know about Tidus's regression is Auron, who won't elaborate why they're resting so early that night, or why he's letting Tidus lean against him for some cuddles.
I think other than Auron, Lulu basically knows but neber brings it up until he involuntarily regresses in front of her, Wakka, and Yuna. She has very good Mama skills guys. 🥺
thinkin abt tidus getting scared and involuntarily regressing in front of wakka, lulu, and yuna and tidus clinging to wakka aaaand lulu and yuna know immediately and wakka doesn't get it until the last possible second. lulu picks on wakka for it later after they all make sure tidus is okay
im thinkin a lot tonight ha

It's still not good. I am about 12 hours into Final Fantasy X and it's still not good. Final Fantasy X is one of the numerous titles that I originally thought that I had dog-piled because I wanted to mirror the sentiment of the "angry video game reviewers." I wish I could say that this game is better than I remembered when I first played it 10 years ago. It's not that I'm young either, I just played this game 10 years after it's release. This game came out in 2002, during my sophomore year of high school and I'm certain that 16-17 year old me would enjoyed this game. Time has not been fair to this game. I was hoping that I would be able to view Final Fantasy X in a more favorable light this time around like I did with Final Fantasy XIII earlier this year.
The problem with the characters is that they're stupid. Every single one of them. Tidus is supposed to be the reluctant hero. He's thrown into a situation that is unfamiliar, he wants nothing to do with it. He's thrown 1000 years into the future because Auron sucks. Yeah, I hate Auron, Auron is an irredeemable tool. Everything has to be explained to Tidus as a vehicle to explain things to the player. We're supposed to feel some sort of connection to Tidus, we're supposed to view ourselves as Tidus. The problem with that is Tidus sucks. Wakka is dumb as a post. Lulu is there so players can look at her ginormous spheres. Kimari would make a better protagonist for the sole reason he has little to no dialogue. Yuna is equally as useless as Tidus but at least there's a reason for her existence. In fact, maybe Yuna should have been the main characters. She's been sheltered for most of her life, has no idea of the outside world, needs the other party members to explain what's going on. Yuna is far and away a better choice as a main character than the emotionally stunted soccer player, Tidus. I've left out Rikku because I haven't gotten far enough to the point where she becomes a PERMANENT party member. From what I remember, Rikku was trying to find an alternate solution to the story.
The battle system is nothing more than just putting the correct shaped peg into the correct shaped hole. Each character is responsible for fighting against the corresponding enemy type. Tidus fights regular enemies, Lulu fights the magic enemies, Wakka fights the flying enemies, and Auron fights the enemies with shields. There is no complexity here; it's square peg goes in square hole, circle peg goes into circle hole, triangle peg goes in triangle hole.
I can't like this game. I have tried once before and I'm trying again now. It's just not a well made game. The characters are bad, the "plot twist" if you can call it that, makes for a very basic story, and the battle system feels like something a toddler would enjoy. A lot of times, there are games that do well when they are the first of its kind. Final Fantasy X was the first RPG on PS2. Going from the 32 bit look of Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9 to a more cinematic look on the PS2 prompted this game to sell as well as it did. This game unfortunately punched above it's weight class and prompted Square to release a direct sequel. I am not looking forward to playing that game once I finish Final Fantasy X but I remember it being somehow worse. Final Fantasy X is just not worth the time.

When I first played the game, I told Gatta to disobey the orders and fight on the frontline, because I thought that was what Tidus would do, what fits his character best. I didn’t know what it would mean. I’ve only realized what I had done when I found Luzzu und he cried about why Gatta was on the frontlines, when he wasn’t supposed to be. My first time playing final fantasy X and I actually was responsible for this boys death. Yes, in a sense, that saved Luzzu... but... Gatta is basically still a child, so I feel like letting him live is the better choice - it also the canon one, as far as we know. However, I found it very cruel of the game to make me decide if he lives or dies, without giving me a chance of even realizing what I was doing. How could I have know back then what would happen?
Tumblr media
This was so damn weird. Even Auron looks like “WTF?!” XD I mean, he just straight up hugged him without much thought. But he should know what Auron knows and that he is unlikely to be happy to see any Master of Yevon, no matter their past together...
Tumblr media
This moment practically already gave away that the masters of Yevon know a lot more then the teachings would tell. But when you play it for the first time, it is just confusing you.
Tumblr media
I am surprised that anyone on that beach survived that attack at all. Seriously. Lucil was directly on the frontlines, it doesn’t make any sense that she made it.
Tumblr media
Auron saw right through that mess from the beginning. But that is what you get for knowing the full truth. If you understand Yevons true nature, it all makes a lot more sense. Back then, when I played this game for the first time, I was still wondering if Auron was right. Tho the survived turning back to Yevon quickly showed me, that he could not have been that wrong.
Tumblr media
So Cecil and Elma, both on the frontlines, both sitting on Chocobos made it out alive but their Chocobos didn’t? What did they do? Hide behind them or what? Once again, the survivor of that massaker don’t always make sense.
Tumblr media
This certainly is on the list of conversation I wish I had never activated. I mean... did they really have to be so cruel? Torn in half was a bit much. Just dead would have done it quite well too.
Tumblr media
I know and understand why many summoner chose the people they love as their Guardians and I got the whole “people I trust” - speech too. But who would take a little kid along on a journey full of monsters?
Tumblr media
You know... you could see that Yuna too actually wanted to stay here until nightfall to watch the lights and all but wasn’t willing to be so selfish to say it and yet was still disappointed when Auron said they wouldn’t wait that long. I get that in a sense, they were in a rush and all, but given Yunas Situation, it was really unfair not to consider her feelings and what she wishes and needs. But when it comes to this, I always thought Auron was sometimes far too strict with everybody.
Tumblr media
Yuna was just a child back then, one who just recently lost her father and now was brought by a “strange creature” to an unknown place far away from home. So I understand while even tho Kimari was worried when Yuna jumped into the water to get brought back like that, he also was glad she was having fun, given her sad and complicated situation at the time.
Tumblr media
Did you ever notice that this is the only shoopuf we ever see in this game, even tho such a big thing is hardly to overlook? The reason thing shoopuf stil works here, even after over 10 years and such an injury, is because its the last one. We don’t get much information about it, but in the infamous audio drama that I would usually ignore, it gets mentioned that its lost its mate a long time ago and wished it back. That race likely went extinct for one reason or another and he is the last one alive, unable to produce new shoopufs, because its mate also died. Sad storys no one ever tells you.
I just beat the AlBhed that kidnapped Yuna AGAIN and now the game just crushed on me. Urg. No I have to hear that story about bad Machina and war again V.V
Something seemed off when I tried to open the game again. Maybe I should restart the computer. Or maybe I take a break and try again later.

TIL one of the reasons the voice acting in FFX is so awkward is because the English dub audio files had to be the exact same length as the original Japanese audio files, meaning the English voice actors often had to include pauses or say some words slower or faster than they normally would in order for their lines to line up with the time it would take to say the same lines in Japanese.

KIMAHRI RONSO (Final Fantasy X)
Tumblr media
I mean, I gotta break into the furry side of things sooner or later, may as well be sooner. May as well start off with a great one.
INTRODUCTION: This monster is one of the guardians who accompanies summoner Yuna on her pilgrimage in FFX and a member of the mountain dwelling Ronso race.
PROS: ♥ AS ALWAYS, POINTY TEETH AND CLAWS ARE GOOD ♥ Unicorn horns are stupid and I want Kimahri to know he looks better with his broken off and is still very good and strong and I’m proud of him. ♥ Wolfmen? Overrated. LION MEN? Underrated. ♥ Dragoons are my favorite final fantasy class because spears are cooler than swords and Kimahri tried to spice it up by also being a Blue Mage. It didn’t work but it’s better than throwing sports balls at people. (If you don’t understand this bullet point, your life is probably richer for not having played final fantasy games.) ♥ Beautiful dark blue coat, it’s just a nice color. Everyone likes jeans. Just on the whole, Kimahri’s color scheme is pretty decent given that FFX is a mightmare of weird color palettes. Like, comparatively.
Tumblr media
♥ Maybe Yenke and Biran have horrible color palettes to reflect how they’re horrible people, idk. Anyway, check out those NICE LONG LION TAILS and FUNKY HEEL CLAWS. These are KIND OF ALMOST digitigrade which is My Shit but they’re interesting enough that I’ll give them a thumbs up just for what they’ve accomplished. ♥ The Ronso don’t wear pants or really even shirts despite living on a snowy mountain so I assume their fur and thick handsome muscles keep them warm which is nice.  ♥ Kimahri is a man of few words, but when he does speak it’s in a deep growly voice, which is always good but especially good when it’s a big strong cat man who AUGHT to have a growly voice. ♥ Tidus is tedious and annoying and Kimahri was right to distrust and try to intimidate him immediately.
CONS: ♥ In my brief foray into google images for this I saw weird fetish art way sooner than I should have for just googling a character name and I don’t like that. ♥ There’s probably something to be said about the one animal-like race being a tribal people that speak broken English but I’m too white to attack this properly. ♥ Like most of my favorite party members in any given JRPG Kimahri doesn’t get to do a whole lot plotwise meaning I don’t get to see NEARLY ENOUGH of him. ♥ Why does Final Fantasy just have to throw a bunch of extraneous straps and belts on everything what is even the PURPOSE of that ring strapped to his shoulder this is FOOLISH. ♥  Why is Kimahri’s character arc about being bullied by two other Ronso who are clearly lamer than he is how am I supposed to believe or relate to this when my boy is fucking jacked and has magic powers. ♥ My brain keeps thinking his name should be spelled Kimarhi but it’s not and that’s annoying. That h is doing nothing and you know it was just Kimari in the original Japanese so the translators clearly just did it to CONFUSE ME.
RATINGS: MONSTRUOUSNESS: 6.5/10 Animal people are pretty common, but the Ronso really lean more into animalistic features than most and I appreciate it. They are still basically just “a man but also a lion” though, which isn’t PEAK monster, and the costume manages to be busy despite having barely any clothing.
FUCKABILITY: 6/10 My ability to assess this is tainted by the foot tickling and inflation art I had to see on google, as well as the internet’s complicated relationship with furry fandom. Regardless, if you’re going to pick a fictional lion to lust after you are definitely better off with this big muscular blue boy than anyone from the lion king because I think we can all agree those people are the weirdoes because those are straight up just animals, Steven.
PERSONAL RATING: 7.5/10 Clearly no FF game after this featured a truly inhuman party member because Kimahri is the best they can hope to accomplish.

A thought
So I was listening to the Final Fantasy X soundtrack recently... and I remembered something. Wakka was so useless in the blitzball games. He's apparently some great player but the second Tidus and him change in the final game. Unless you are multiple points ahead you will lose. @eti-mun can probably agree with me.
Also a small convo with my sis @youarenowadwarf
Me: "Kimari is a blue mage. He learns enemy attacks and can use them"
Her: "I thought you were calling him one cause he's blue and a mage"
