this is purely curiosity coming from a place of concern, feel free not to answer: does your ventilator filter the air? I imagine you're probably high risk when it comes to covid and I'd also guess that the ventilator kinda defeats any benefit of a mask (do correct me if I'm wrong) so I guess I was just wondering if there's any sort of protection for you against airborne illness?
It does! I have a couple layers of filters on my vent and another weird benefit is that my air comes from behind me instead of in front so if Im face to face with someone we aren't sharing air. I also have a little detatchable piece of plastic on the place where the air I exhale comes out that filters droplets so I don't spread germs either. When I was sick over christmas and had I doctor's appointment, I lost the plastic piece and had to like... try and cram my vent mask into a surgical mask to avoid sharing germs lmao.
A fun little fact is that it also protects me from bad smells sometimes. There needs to be a LOT of smell for it to reach me through the filters. It also protects me from poor air quality.
I got a foam filter for dust and pollen and other big particles like droplets

Next there's the paper filter on the intake port that filters smoke, and i think germs? The foam filter goes on top of it.

Next I have the viral filter that goes on the area where the air comes out of the ventilator and into the tube.

And finally, the exhale filter. Not every mask has one, it's part of the reason I prefer this model specifically. It filters MY germs and diffuses the air so that I don't share either. It's removable so that if you get a moisture problem or it's bothering you in some other way you can just take it off. Its just a bunch of little holes behind the diffuser.
