We interrupt our generally uncritiqued stream of pretty F1nn pictures for this tiny psa, brought to you by u/ShelterOk7634:

F1nn DOES use filters on some of his insta story photos! He doesn't always use them, and sometimes he uses obvious ones, but in several recent pics and videos F1nn has used instagram's own "No Makeup, Makeup" filter.

Filter's can be used for fun or a little confidence boost or whatever other reason you might have. However, it is important to remember that if someone seems to "always look perfect", there is likely more to their look than just their own makeup skills or "natural beauty".

Enjoying how someone else looks should never be a reason to feel negatively about yourself. We may be even more susceptible to those feelings in this fandom because of how many of us are trans and wish to "look as good" or "pass as well" as F1nn does without HRT. F1nn dedicates a ton of time and money to his looks along with occasionally using filters, and he still deals with low self esteem! If we allow ourselves to fall into the trap that marketing-driven celebrity social media sets of comparing ourselves to people whose looks are their job, we'll get stuck in a negative feedback loop of criticizing ourselves until nothing we could ever do would be enough to satisfy the monster that is body dysmorphia.

not sure how this photo was originally shared, but the look is from the 12/18/20 stream (which has a highlights video!), posted recently to the reddit, and is photo currently used for the archive channel icon

interestingly, it looks like in that stream, there was a $180,000 dono goal for "girl year"; I wonder how that amount compares to how much was raised for our current twelve consecutive girl months?

2nd edit: this is actually NOT the first time F1nn did his own makeup! per the stream itself (had to go back and check), F1nn had though this was his first time doing his own makeup, but he had actually done it previously in another picture he shared on the same stream, featuring him in an LFB outfit from November of 2018
