Sooo my mom liked Halloween Ends! I mean, perhaps liked is strong but she only looked away like three times and she didn't ask me to explain my thing for Corey she was just like "I didn't hate it ☺️" so I consider that a success lol I'll make a horror fan of her yet.
Also the result of today's rewatch is me cooking on some more thoughts about the styling. I could honestly write an entire formal essay about the styling but! I've said before that Corey's color palette shifts a couple times through the film and how that relates to what's happening in his life, generally. And today I realized, his shifts in color also follow Allyson's color palette!
He's wearing green and beige when he meets her, and she's wearing burgundy scrubs over a grey t-shirt. Then at the party, she's wearing black, brown, and blue, and he's wearing A BURGUNDY SWEATER OVER A GREY TSHIRT! Are you fucking kidding me? That's so cute lol.
And then for the rest of the movie they both wear exclusively brown, black, and blue when they're together, and Allyson only deviates from that color palette when she's at work and when she's in her pajamas, and those outfits are both that burgundy and grey combo.
And Allyson's color palette also shifts with Corey because the first time we see her out of her work uniform she's wearing a light colored sweater, and then when she goes to visit Corey at work, she's wearing a black shirt but it has a bright colored collar. And Corey is wearing blue and brown because he's in HIS uniform and then she matches HIS work clothes at the party!!

While I deeply miss Willhelm's Season 1 hair, the change really illustrated the change in Willhelm's mindset.
In s1 he was constantly pushing his hair back, whether a nervous tick or just needing it out of his face. He was unsure of himself, still figuring out what he wanted. He kind of hid in his brother's shadow, like how his hair covered his face. It was also more free, showing how he's still a kid, and he still has freedom from the crown prince title. And while he's still a kid in season 2, he's accepted that he has major responsibility now, even if he's unsure of how to proceed. He's making more concrete decisions, even if they aren't always the most logical (he is a stressed out teenager after all). His hair isn't in his face. He doesn't mess with it in public. It's in place. Like how his image needs to be in place.
