So let me start by saying if anyone has ever told you that being mad at God, disappointed by God, even angry at God, has earned you a spot in the fiery depths of hell to burn for all eternity…..

OMG I AM SOOO SORRY.

Seriously.

If by some chance you have been hauling THAT ball and chain around your whole life thus prohibiting you from living fully abundantly authentically human (which you are btw), then just please know that I’m standing over here with whatever tool cuts through iron.

I SURE AM.

And we’ll even party afterwards.

I’ll bring the tacos.

Why?

Because the realest relationships experience the full of range of emotions.

They sure do.

Think of someone you love with all that you’ve got.

Ok.

Have you EVER been mad at them, annoyed at them, disappointed by them, questioned them or been questioned by them, been sadden by them, perhaps even downright angry at them?

The answer is yes.

AND, you still love them.

Right.

Did our guy David go down in the big book as “A Man After God’s Own Heart”?

Yes.

Were there times David was mad at God?

Also yes.

Like when his buddies reached out to steady the cart that the ark was on and God struck ‘em down dead and Dave was like WHAT THE HECK GOD??

And David was angry.

And David loved God.

Because FYI we humans carry a multitude of emotions all housed within us AMEN.

So Dave and God worked through it.

And my guess is, Dave felt closer to God than ever before after they worked it out because THAT OFTEN HAPPENS AMEN?

Right.

Beloved, the realest relationships experience the full range of emotions.

So be real with God for God already knows.

Save the time and energy it takes to gussy up your face in hopes that your God won’t be able to tell.

Trust me - God knows.

So be real.

Be honest.

Be vulnerable.

For truly I tell you, incredible life-giving things come out of that place.

They sure do.

Or have we chosen the Living Water that Jesus provides... the water that strengthens us, gives us joy, satisfies us, heals and fulfills our every need.
