Just a rant

Hi, I am a student here in the Philippines, I just want to tell you that being a student in this country is draining. We wake up at 5 or 6 in the morning, start school at 7 and end it at 4 in the afternoon, and then you get loads of homework to do at home. I know that this look stupid and I'm just a student who's lazy but, I barely have any time to spend with my loved ones, heck my sister and brother are no longer at home because my sister is in college living at an apartment and my brother is far away because of work, my cousins are busy, and the fact that I barely go outside because we don't have a backyard or even a front yard to play in, makes it even more draining for me. PLEASE CHANGE OUR SCHOOL SCHEDULE, DEP ED!! Students are suppose to be enjoying school, not being sleep deprived and being stressed out!! WE'RE TIRED AND DRAINED BECAUSE OF THE LONG SCHOOL DAYS!!

I'll end this here, and thank you for reading this rant if you ever came across it. I know it just sounds so dramatic but I just want someone to hear me out, to know how school is in this country. Again, thank you for reading this.

Kaka-cellphone mo ‘yan! Puro ka Internet!

Nag-umpisa sa mga hiroglipiko ang unang basehan ng impormasyon ng ating mga ninuno. Umunlad at lumawak ang kanilang kaalaman hanggang sa nabuo ang alpabeto, nagkaroon ng mga libro, at ngayon ay mayroon nang kapangyarihan ang teknolohiya sa kung papaanong ang impormasyon ay ating ipapasa. 

Sa kasalukuyang panahon ay patuloy na umuusbong ang teknolohiya, lalo pa at limitado ang ating mga galaw sa labas ng tahanan. Gumagamit na tayo ng Internet, kung saan sa pamamagitan ng ating mga gadyet ay malaya tayong nakakadiskubre ng bagong kaalaman at kagigiliwan. Gamit ang Internet, halos lahat ng ating pangangailangan ay napupunan: pag-aaral, pagtatrabaho, at pagsasaya.

Bilang isang mag-aaral na nakikinabang sa benepisyo ng Internet, mayroon akong kakayahang magbigay-hatid ng impormasyong tingin ko ay nais ninyong malaman. Maaaring simple at maiksi lamang, ngunit dapat ninyong tandaan: Malaki ang tulong ng Internet sa ating pag-aaral at pagtatagumpay.

Sa kabila ng pandemyang bumabalot sa ating bansa, nagagamit natin ang Internet upang patuloy na magkaroon ng komunikasyon sa pagitan nating mga mag-aaral at ng mga guro. Mayroon ang Google Classroom upang maipasa natin ang mga takdang aralin sa lahat ng asignatura, mayroon namang Messenger na nagagamit natin upang makipag-usap sa mga kaklase tuwing mayroong mga aktibidad-panggrupo, at mayroon ding Google Meet at Zoom upang direktang maituro sa atin ang mga paksang kanilang ibinabahagi. Sa tulong ng Internet, kahit mahirap ay naitutuloy natin ang komunikasyong kailangan upang maging maayos ang daloy ng pag-aaral.

#Marites. Mare, ano ang latest?

Dahil sa dali ng paggamit ng Internet, mas mabilis na kumalat ang mga impormasyong dito rin nakikita. Bukod dito, mas updated din ang mga impormasyon dahil hindi na kailangan pang limbagin ang mga ito. Sa loob ng kaunting minuto, maraming pagbabago ang nangyayari sa mundo at mayroon ang Internet upang ipakita sa ating lahat ang mga pagbabagong ito. Kasabay nito ang panganib dahil sa bilis ding kumalat ng mga fake news, o mga impormasyong walang katotohanan, kaya responsibilidad nating siguraduhin munang totoo ang balita bago natin ito ibahagi sa iba. Maging isang mabuting Marites!

#TipidAral. Tipid na sa oras at pera, nakapag-aral ka pa!

Gamit ang Internet, hindi na natin kailangang gumastos sa pamasahe at pagbili ng mga libro sapagka’t maaari na nating mahanap dito ang mga nais nating malaman. Nakakatipid din tayo sa oras dahil hindi na kailangan pang lumabas ng bahay para lamang maghanap ng mga mapagkukunan ng tamang impormasyong gagamitin natin sa pag-aaral. Kapaki-pakinabang at napapanahon ito sapagka’t maraming mga magulang ang nawalan ng trabaho ngayong kasagsagan ng pandemya. Dahil sa Internet, patuloy tayong nakapag-aaral dahil hindi kailangang gumastos nang napakalaking salapi para lamang makakuha ng kaalaman at makasabay sa iba.

Buong mundo na ang nakikinabang sa mga benepisyo ng Internet. Bata man o matanda, mayroon tayong mga ginagawang mas mabisa at mabilis na natatapos dahil dito. Sa pag-aaral nating mga estudyante, nakita ko ang papel na ginampanan ng Internet. Binigyan tayo nito ng oportunidad na magkaroon pa rin ng komunikasyon, napapanahong mga balita, at makapag-ipon pa. Bilang mag-aaral na may pusong nagpapasalamat, #InternetSaludoAngMgaEstudyanteSayo.

Failures. Are. Okay.

One of the scariest consultations I have ever scheduled is grade consultation in school.

I can do a lot of appointments in my life in just one day and I can nail each one of them but when I get to meet my professor and see my grades -- like pls no. don’t ask me anymore. Those 10-15 minutes meetings with the professor? Scary. 

So, I barely can’t breathe because of what might my grades will be.

‘’Awit.’’

Well, anyhoo. 

So, I got my grades (Ganun lang kabilis yon, nukaba) 

I got a failing grade. 

Ocean tears gave me headache. Really. 

But here’s what I thought, maybe failures are okay after all. After that, I got to talk to my professor and she encouraged me. She said that I can still move forward because it was still half of the academic year. 

Back then, I was so afraid of failures that I needed to isolate myself from others and have too many secrets, I won’t tell them my failures because why not? Why would you want to share all your failures to someone? Even that someone is your trusted friend. 

I wouldn’t dare to cry in front of a person. I want for them to see me as a strong woman. 

But now, I realize that failures can be a motivation for me; to strive harder and be open more to people. 

Also, imagine that rewarding feeling when you overcome and succeed the failure. Oh my,  I can’t wait. 

So maybe, failures are okay after all.

sa panahon ngayon mangilan-ilang estudyante nalang ang nagpupunta sa library upang maghanap ng kanilang mga takda, reviewer, atbp. Ang mga estudyante ay ginagamit ang mga social media sites upang madaling makipagusap sa kanilang mga kamag-aral, mga mahal sa buhay, magtanong sa mga guro nila kung ano-ano ang kanilang mga takda atbp., Internet din ang ating naging library ika nga dahil ang internet o social media sites ay isang click lng ay nahanap na nila ang kanilang hinahanap, mga takda, proyekto.

Karamihan sa mga paaralan dito sa Pilipinas lalo na ang mga pribado ay gumagamit na ng mga kompyuter na may access sa internet. Mayroon silang tinatawag na computer    laboratory kung saan natitipon ang lahat ng mga kompyuter. Nang dahil dito, mas naging maginhawa at madali ang pagkalap ng mga impormasyon. Mas epektibong naibabahagi ng mga guro ang    kanilang leksyon nang dahil sa internet.

Maraming tao ang kadalasang nagtatalo kung ang teknolohiya ay nakakabuti o nakakasama. Marami ang naniniwala na ang teknolohiya ay may masamang epekto sa ating lipunan, pero marami rin ang pabor sa pag-unlad ng teknolohiya dahil ito ay nagbibigay ng magandang dulot sa pamumuhay ng mga Pilipino. Ang mga pananaw na ito ay tama, subalit, kailangan nating pag-aralan ng mabuti kung ang teknolohiya nga ba ay nakakatulong o nagdudulot ng masamang epekto. Ito ay nakasalalay sa ating mga Pilipino kung paano natin ito gamitin.

Malaki ang naitulong sakin ng social media kasi hindi lang nito napapadali yung paghahanap ko kundi napapadali rin nito yung pakikipag-komunika ko sa mga kamag-aral , kapatid , kaibigan , mga magulang , atbp.

Isang halimbawa nito ay nung isang beses na nahirapan ako sa paghahanap ng takda ko sa isa kong  subject wala rin akong mahanap nang source sa library kaya sinubukan ko gumamit ng internet , dahil sa internet nahanap ko agad  yung takda na hinahanap ko at napasa ko ng maaga ang aking takda sa araw na ring iyon.

Sa internet din ako nanonood ng mga video o palabas na pinapatakda ng aming guro samin, nakaktulong din yung mga social networking sites gaya ng youtube dahil nagsisilbi itong aking libangan kapag ako’y nababagot at walang magawa.

Dahil din sa mga social networking sites nalalaman ko pa ang mga bagay na gusto at hindi ko pa nalalaman. Pero may masama ring naidulot ang internet sa aking buhay at pag-aaral, dahil sa mga ito naging adik ako sa mga computer games gaya ng warcraft, DOTA 2, LoL, atbp. Napabayaan ko na rin minsan ang pag-aaral ko dahil sa mga ito  natuto ako magwhole day sa eskwelahan makpaglaro lang hanggang sa unti-unti kong napapansin na bumababa na yung mga grado ko.

Paano nga ba nakakatulong ang Google? Para sakin nakaktulong ito upang makapaghanap ng mga detalyeng gusto at dapat nating malaman.

Paano naman nakakatulong ang Facebook? Nakakatulong ito upang mapabilis at mapadali ang pakikipag-usap o komunika natin sa mga mahal natin.

Paano naman ang youtube? Nagsisilbi itong ating libangan kapag tayo ay nababagot, pwede rin tayong manood ng mga paborito nating mga palabas, nakakatulong din ito dahil may mga tutorial dito na ina-upload ng mga tao.

Paano naman ang tumblr? Ito ang ating nagsisilbi nating munting diary dahil dito natin inilalagay ang mga nadiskubre, naranasan, atbp.
