My question is, does Annie have any favorite foods from Angel and Alastor cultures, and does she like it when either one cooks it also is she close with the cultures (love your work hope you doing well 🫶🏽🩵)
Annie's childhood was a melting pot of different cultures thanks to the hotel! For Angel's culture though Annie isn't super picky, she does very much enjoy spicy pasta types. Fileja Tropeana and Assassin's Pasta are some top choices.
For Alastor's culture while she does enjoy the jambalaya he cooks, Annie has more of a fondness for the pastries.
Annie likes it when either of her parents cook. When Alastor cooks there is always the potential that the meat in the dish isn't... Animal meat. But that doesn't bother Annie since she isn't a stranger to cannibalism ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Annie's very deep into her parents cultures! As a result she knows both Italian and French.

7 TRADITIONAL CALABRIAN DISHES YOU HAVE TO TRY
The food down south is ‘peasant cooking’: simple and fresh ingredients, full of flavour. Calabria (the boot of Italy!) is one of the best places to eat in the country. Calabrian dishes make use of local spices, fish and seafood, meats and of course, 'nduja – the famous spreadable spicy salami is the shining star of Calabria.
You might not be able to travel there right now, but we wanted to highlight some of the best recipes from the region.
1. Lagana e ciciari
This is a classic pasta dish in Calabria. It’s homemade wide pasta with chickpeas, garlic and oil.
2. Calabrian stuffed aubergines
The vegetables are filled with a simple mixture of bread and cheese, before being smothered in passata and baked until tender.
3. Pasta e alici
A quick traditional first course, where the pasta is seasoned with oil , garlic , anchovies and toasted breadcrumbs. The breadcrumbs give a delicious crunch to the silky smooth pasta.
4. Polpette alla mammolese
This delicious meatball recipe sees pork mince mixed with goat’s cheese and cooked in a spicy tomato sauce.
5. Pasta with 'nduja
'Nduja is a soft, spicy, spreadable salami. Nduja is typically eaten with short pasta such as maccheroni, penne, fusilli etc or spaghetti. In Calabria they usually eat it with fresh or dried fileja pasta.
6. Zeppole
Zeppole calabresi are divine savoury fried donuts, filled with anchovies or sardines and creamy mozzarella. These are a local favourite!
7. Tartufo
Tartufo was only invented in the 1950s, but has quickly become the dessert of choice across Calabria. It is a moulded ice cream dessert resembling a giant black truffle, with a cocoa coating concealing two layers of ice cream: a chocolate layer on the outside and hazelnut within. Delicious!

I currently have 32 pasta shapes that will be in the tournament, mostly compiled by googling pasta shapes and pasta recipes and tracking the most common ones. This means that there are currently 4 slots remaining to make this a proper tournament with 36 starting competitors!

I received Missy Robbins’s Pasta for Christmas, and it’s a pretty exhaustive cookbook on my favorite food. I like that there’s a mix of classic Italian-American, regional Italian, and her modern recipes in it, because the latter are definitely inspiring me and I’m learning about some very highly regional pasta shapes that were otherwise new to me!
I tossed some homemade linguini with a Calabrian sauce of ‘nduja, tomatoes, and garlic, and it packs some heat from the sausage! Traditionally it’s made with a hand-rolled pasta from Calabria called fileja, but I wanted to try the sauce first before committing myself to an afternoon of forming pasta by hand, and this is now on my list of things to make properly on my next low-key Sunday afternoon.

Lai pagatavotu autentisku Woku būs nepieciešama gan speciāla panna, gan arī specifiskas sastāvdaļas. Ja iepriekšminētais nav pieejams un nav arī vēlmes pārāk daudz laika pavadīt virtuvē, piedāvājam izmēģināt vienkāršā woka recepti. 5 porcijām nepieciešams: 2 lielas vai trīs mazākas vistas filejas 1 paciņa olu nūdeļu Puravs Cukini Pākšu pupiņas 2 burkāni Sojas mērce Saldskābā Čili mērce. Pagatavošana: Vistas fileju un burkānus sagriež strēmelītēs un liek cepties. Pēc brīža pievieno pākšu pupiņas. Kad viss jau gandrīz izcepies, pievieno ripiņās sagrieztu puravu. Paralēli novāra olu nūdeles ( svarīgi nepārvārīt). Kad gaļa ar dārzeņiem gatava, tiem pievieno labi daudz sojas mērces ( pēc gašas) un vismaz trīs ēdams karotes saldskābās čili mērces. Pannas saturā uzmanīgi iejauc pagatavotās nūdeles. Lai labi garšo.

I fileja è un tipo di pasta fresca tradizionale calabrese. L’impasto è semplicemente di acqua e farina di semola; quello che la rende particolare è la lavorazione.
