Note
Zinc white, cadmium yellow, golden ochre (doesn't have to be about fightthewarfuckthenorm ahem :)) titans, scarlet (if this isn't about your husband then we have a problem)
1. how are you really feeling today? no one-word answers please!
Was feeling a little on edge this morning, thinking about all the stuff I have to do today. Also a little weird because Aubrey's mom is in the hospital, I'm thinking of postponing the wedding reception, I need to clean the condo, I'm trying to book a doctor's appointment and they're not getting back to me, and Opal's empty tank is just sitting there and I don't know what to do about it. Yeah. I don't feel bad exactly but I'm a little nervous, I guess.
2. when you think of the word “happy” what’s the first thing that comes to mind?
Stereotypical stuff like sunshine and the colour yellow.
3. describe the relationship you have with your closest friend.
Huhuhuhu... well, we're very close and sometimes we just understand each other without even having to fully articulate what we're feeling. We can talk about literally any topic under the sun, even if we don't know anything about it. We used to be really similar as kids but as we got older, our personalities developed in very different ways and our interests diverged. Despite that, we're still as close as ever and now I find it even more fun that we're kinda different because I can share my perspective with someone who may think differently but I'm not afraid of being judged. I also learn more from you since you have your own interests and share them with me.
4. do you prefer slow mornings or relaxing evenings?
Slow mornings, so I can have exciting evenings. I like taking my time in the morning, washing up, getting ready, making a plan for the day. I'm sort of a night owl so I like to do more fun things in the evening.
5. describe your current crush.
LMAO my current crush is also my forever-crush. He's got curly hair and warm eyes and one of the most contagious laughs I've ever heard. He's funny and caring and extremely selfless but he's also not a doormat - he's got strong convictions that he always stands by and never wavers from. I learn from him and he learns from me. He's so much fun and always willing to try something new - if it scares him, he's happy just to be there while I try it out instead.
Thanks!!!

I recently received the results of my ancestry test and it provided so much fascinating information. What I’m showing in these screenshots is not even half of it. I’m gonna start by explaining my ancestry, then going into Neanderthal ancestry, and in a separate post I’m going to continue and talk about traits and the relatives I discovered through this site.
So before taking this test, what I already knew about my ancestry was that my mother is Pakhtun, from both Afghanistan and Pakistan. My father is Kashmiri and Punjabi and may have had distant Afghan ancestors, based on what we know about his 3rd cousin’s ancestry, as well as some Tibetan ancestry through his Kashmiri mother. Based on this previous knowledge, I was not too surprised about my results. You can zoom in on the regions shown in the maps and darker green regions are a more likely match/you have more ancestry from those regions. Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa being first was not a surprise to me since, as I said, I already knew my parents are Pakhtun and Punjabi. Similarly, Kashmir was not a surprise either. What did surprise me was the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was lightest in colour so I’m not sure if that means I have a small amount of ancestry from there or if it is just a prediction, but when I look at the map it doesn’t seem too far-fetched, considering it is close to Punjab.
What I know about my Afghan ancestry is that my maternal grandfather was from Khost. Khost lies in between all the regions listed on my report but did not show up on the report itself, which I found surprising. Kabul was darkest in colour, followed by Kandahar, so I guess my grandfather’s ancestors came from all over that general region.
2.5% of my ancestry is broadly Central Asian + Northern Indian/Pakistani so they can’t pinpoint from where exactly.
10.6% of my ancestry is Iranian/Caucasian/Mesopotamian, but they can’t pinpoint where either (just to clarify here, Caucasian here means from the Caucasus region, NOT “white”). My best guess was Iranian since Pakhtuns are an Iranic ethnic group, and I figured maybe in the distant past I had an Iranian ancestor. However, when I scrolled down, I was shocked to find that it wasn’t so distant after all. When clicking on the timeline, it states that I likely had a great-grandparent who was fully Iranian/Caucasian/Mesopotamian between 1930 and 1870. I don’t know anything about my maternal grandfather’s parents, but I do know a little about all my other great-grandparents. I suppose my grandfather had an Iranian parent.
0.1% of my ancestry was “unassigned”.
I have less than 2% Neanderthal ancestry, so out of the 7,462 variants they tested, there were 243 variants in my DNA that trace back to Neanderthals. This Neanderthal DNA may influence some of my traits and some of the variants make me more likely to have a bad sense of direction (true), less likely to be afraid of heights (true, I’m not afraid of heights at all), and more likely to have dandruff (also true).
It was also able to identify my maternal haplogroup, which is N5. Haplogroups basically trace the migrations of your entire maternal line, from woman to woman (not the males). So they first start with the first woman we’re all descended from, a woman who lived in Eastern Africa some time between 150,000 and 200,000 years ago. Then it tells me that about 65,000 years ago another Eastern African woman’s descendants branched off and went East across the Red Sea to the tip of the Arabian Peninsula. From there, another woman’s descendants branched off and spread all across Europe and Asia. Then they were able to trace back to a woman who lived 37,000 years ago (N5). Apparently this group is rare and 1 in 35,000 people on the site have it. Researchers currently don’t have too much information about it though, like who branched off from this line and went where. All I could find on the internet was that N5 is found in India.
( @fightthewarfuckthenorm I thought you’d be interested in this. I will tell you more about the cousins I found when I call.)
