Born on August 18th, 1969

He is an American actor and producer. After graduating from Yale College in 1991 with a degree in history, he worked for a few months in Japan before moving to Manhattan to pursue an acting career. He gained recognition and critical acclaim for his debut in Primal Fear (1996), which earned him a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and an Academy Award nomination in the same category. His role as a redeemed neo-Nazi in American History X (1998) earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He also starred in the film Fight Club (1999), which garnered a cult following.

Norton established the production company Class 5 Films in 2003, and was director or producer of the films Keeping the Faith (2000), Down in the Valley (2005), and The Painted Veil (2006). He continued to receive praise for his acting roles in films such as The Score (2001), 25th Hour (2002), The Italian Job (2003), The Illusionist (2006), Moonrise Kingdom (2012), and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). His biggest commercial successes have been Red Dragon (2002), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), The Incredible Hulk (2008), and The Bourne Legacy (2012). For his role in the black comedy Birdman (2014), Norton earned another Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He has since directed and acted in the crime film Motherless Brooklyn (2019), and starred in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022).

Norton is an environmental activist and social entrepreneur. He is a trustee of Enterprise Community Partners, a non-profit organization that advocates for affordable housing, and serves as president of the American branch of the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust. He is also the UN Goodwill Ambassador for Biodiversity.

Three hits.

One into the post. 

A second more brutal crack. 

The third as Berat’s head hit the mat. 

All it took were those three hits to the head to break Nevra’s composure. 

She didn’t bother to look at the balcony to see if either of the two Rutherford women would stop the fight. The blood seeping out from under her friend’s body was enough indication that the fight was over. 

Pure instinct and muscle memory propelled her body forward over the barrier and into the ring. For a moment they weren’t in the ring at fight club. They were on some cruddy street in some seedy part of London, Berat on the ground, Nevra kneeling over him trying to get him up. 

“Berat!”

Someone yelling his name snapped her back to reality. She was vaguely aware of lingering eyes on her. Maybe it was Johnathan or perhaps one of the other many loyalists surrounding the ring wondering what the hell one of their own was doing. Or maybe it was the Turks who would undoubtedly be seething.

They didn’t fucking matter though, not now. 

Berat might have been twice her size but Nevra lifted him by the shoulders and half dragged half carried him to the back room, careful not to jostle his head too much. Only when he was on his back did the brunette realize how hard she was breathing and how little he was. 

“Wake up Berat. Come on, breathe, open your eyes. Anything.” 

Please, please, please. 

“You don’t get to do this.” 

Not when they’d finally started talking again.

That was the answer she’d wanted to hear.

Melissa couldn’t help but pull her head back with her perfectly plucked brow arching, and eyes narrowed with amusement and pleasure. After the evening she’d endured, this was exactly what she needed. Had wanted to prove to herself that she was not powerless.

She couldn’t be, especially not in the eyes of those that had all of a sudden deemed her untrustworthy. Melissa Lin would not let the fire engulf her, but instead transform herself into water. Liquid had the ability to take any form it required. ‘’You’re on the right path with me right now, Nevra, and your decision making has been excellent.’’ A praise from Melissa Lin was never to be taken lightly. On her heel, she turned her full attention to the Nevra. ‘’I need you to accompany me next week, I have to make a visit to someone who thought it best to double cross me.’’ She licked at her lips, before biting down as to keep the viper like smile at bay.  Her gaze shifted for all but a second to molten lava, burning with desire.

‘’If you want to learn, I will make that happen. We spoke about this previously in my office.’’ She used her head to gesture for Nevra to walk with her. ‘’I just need to make sure you’re aware that because you pledged your loyalty to me— that it stays between us.’’

She needed to make sure her ties were more solid than ever. Especially after Lara. Her eyes travelled to the balcony area. ‘’I need you ready on Thursday, my Limo will pick you up and then we will be going to meet Benjamin Vox, you’ve probably seen him with me; he’s someone else I spend a lot of time with, shaping, mentoring— it’d be good for you two to meet after we’ve got this one little job done.’’ She paused, a glint in her eye. ‘’Can you be available?’’

Nevra did not miss the look the woman sent up towards the balcony above them. Paired with her words, she wondered if there was more going on here than she’d first realized. 

That it stays between us.

So their pairing was to be kept a secret. Fine by her, for the time being. If it came down to picking sides again, the Turk wanted as many options as possible and aligning herself with the strongest right now was not a terrible idea. 

“Yes, that’s not a problem.” 

She didn’t ask who they’d be going to see. If Melissa had wanted her to know now, she would have said. A test then. Another thing Nevra was good at. 

“Just let me know if you need anything else before then.” 

A reserved but genuine offer.

Fenrik, just like anyone else, had his favorite haunts. Most of them were in Bloodhearth, including the Fist & Furious Fightclub, though today he had chosen The Nightcap. The heat was still unbearable, but at least having a drink or two or seven made it more tolerable. Sure, alcohol made a person feel warm, but it also made someone more inclined to care less. 

However, as things had a tendency of going in Bloodhearth and this pub in particular, things had gotten out of hand. Fights has broken out and limbs had been broken. Fenrik couldn’t help from getting involved, though the proprietors had finally managed to break things up and Fenrik returned to his companion covered in red. “My nose look broken?” he asked. It was hard for him to tell anymore, if he were being honest, and even harder for anyone else to tell as his nose had already become permanently swollen and crooked.

Nevra made a very valid point. “True. Both of us on the wrong side of the tracks.”

They were still messed up. She was supposed to be staying away, but she always found herself drawn back in. Ayda cringed at her friend’s words, her face dropping and eyes turning sad. If Nevra never left, they both could have been married. She probably would have had the family she always wanted with Berat. Now it was only a dream that haunted her sleep. 

“I don’t think we’ll ever get the happy ending.” There is a sadness to her tone.

She rid herself of earlier thoughts, bringing her facial features to a more neutral expression.

It did seem as though it would be an uphill battle for both to get anything close to the happy ending they’d once held in their grasp. Kerem and Berat might have their faults but they all did. At the end of the day, the girls had been the ones to walk away and consequences were something no one could get away from. 

“Or maybe it’ll just look different than we thought. Dreams change, don’t they?” 

It was her own pathetic way of trying to look on the bright side. The alternative was worse. Wallowing day in and day out, feeling sorry for herself. She wouldn’t do it anymore and neither should Ayda. She just wished her friend hadn’t picked some French playboy to do it with.

Ayda was grateful to have Nevra around still. She would never turn her back on the other. There was too much history there. The brunette leaned her head against her shoulder. 

“Ride or die. Bad bitches to the end.” She laughs. “I swear we were messed up teenagers. We never did have anything normal.”

“Messed up teenagers? Pretty sure we’re still messed up. I mean, look at who we almost married.” 

She cringed as she said the words because she never once regretted her decisions but it was true. Their environment had left them to figure out how to make a life steeped in violence and drugs and poverty. 

“I don’t think normal was ever in the cards for us.” 

The thought made her a bit sad.

Ayda laughs. “That is easier said than done. He did make one request that I see him before he fights and Emre shadows me.” She had been avoiding Berat the whole night and was hoping to keep it that way. “But you know I will keep you company before I am dragged away.” She slides her arm through Nev’s. “You know, you always have me, right?” Essentially they were both out casts, Ayda’s only saving grace was her last name, and that she didn’t turn to the Rutherfords.

Sometimes she thought she did, sometimes she wasn’t sure if Ayda would stick around. That was how the Turk had allowed her life to become. Letting other people make choices whether they stayed or left. It was weak of her, a cowardly way to protect herself. 

With her conversation with Melissa in mind, Nevra tightened her arm in her friend’s. 

“I do and even if you wanted to go, you’ll have a hard time leaving.”

Ayda was above violence, but she could have kicked him in the balls to get some type of justification for him making a fool of her. 

“Well, I ran into him before his fight. I may have helped with his wraps and then when I realised who he was, I left.” Her tone was a whisper. “Then I saw him after and approached him.” She won’t mention that Elaina may have encouraged her. “I didn’t realise I knew how to flirt. He’s hot Nevra, sweet, charming. And, I could see it in his eyes, he’s broken, like me. Broken people need to feel. I wanted to feel.” 

“I want it to, but I doubt it will.” She shrugs her shoulders.

She listened quietly, carefully, and with restraint. What was so wrong with having those feelings with someone who wasn’t enemy number one in most of her friend’s eyes? Nevra kept that to herself though. 

“Did he give you a reason to think it wouldn’t?” 

In truth, she hadn’t seen everything. Everything up until now had been seen from afar. Ayda was going to have to fill in some of the blanks.

Ayda managed to put a lot of distance between her and Emre, coming face to face with Nevra. She hadn’t seen her friend since the Lara reveal.

“I am. It seems you all forget I know how to take care of myself.” She knew her friend warned her to stay away from the French.

“I never said you couldn’t. I just figured...” 

She figured Ayda would have been more careful but in reality, the French and Turks weren’t at war. Sure, the gang might kick up money to the Rutherfords but that didn’t mean they fought for them willingly. Once again Nevra had let her own emotions and loyalties seep into non-business relationships. 

Her tone softened a bit. 

“I know you can. I’m sorry. He’s just, he’s so...French.”
