After a great deal of exploring and teleporting from ward to ward ⎛ something that left Wilnas far more drained than he'd ever felt in his existence- a testament to his new humanity ⎠he'd come to the conclusion that no, he was not in any skydom he could name, and quite frankly, he wasn't in the sky at all. How long had it been since anyone had lived on the ground?

Some things were even beyond the knowledge of the Six Dragons- not that Wilnas had any ability to tap into that- he had found that he wasn't even able to create a small flame since truly waking up. Most of what had set him apart from the real humans around him had been taken away, and as startling as it was, it also felt like a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders.

He'd lamented over the fact that he'd only ever know a pale imitation of mortality, but that had certainly changed. The real task now was to learn properly.

He'd approached a number of people, some of them told him about human jobs, some gave advice on other mundane things, and some were simply baffled that he was asking those sorts of questions in the first place. Having bid farewell to another ⎛ very confused? likely startled ⎠ mortal, Wilnas turned his attention to @fifthmagician, who just happened to be the next human ⎛ so he assumed ⎠ in his line of sight.

❝ Hello! ❞ Bright, bubbly, and likely far too loud, not that anyone had ever told him to be less excitable. In fact, many people back in the Skydoms seemed to find his curiosity endearing! Was that not the case for the people of Spirale? ❝ This is Golden Ward, yes? ❞

He's never seen a place like this. Covered in metals and bursting with life- with more merchants than he could imagine seeing in one place. Also, that beach! Wilnas had never been to a beach, not really- not like this, which was what made this ward so fascinating! ⎛ Really, though, everything was fascinating in Spirale- at least in his eyes. Full of mortal things to learn and to do and ... ⎠

❝ I have been asking about the best things for humans to do here, since I'm rather new to it, especially on this level! But, it's a wonderful thing, to be human! ❞

❝ Since I am learning, I think it makes sense to speak to many humans to understand different opinions and perspectives- the last human I talked to recommended the beach and the boardwalk in this ward, but I would love to know which places you find joy in! ❞

        “Goodness, this place sure is lively for a prison.” His blunt words do not match the fond exasperation on Suo’s face at all. “I should be glad to find other people my age in here, but doesn’t that mean they aren’t above kidnapping teenagers?”

        And sure, if he actually had a chance to fend off his attackers Suo would at least put up a good resistance — but it all pretty much happened in an instant. A shame. If he got the chance, he could have at least made sure that the perpetrators would get some broken bones.

        “Do you know if we’re still supposed to go to school? Or are we forced to pretend child labor laws don’t exist?”

Yosuke naturally found himself going inside the record store as soon as he spotted it. While perusing the CD collection, he bumps into a girl. After apologizing profusely and sitting in silence for an agonizing moment, he can't help but use this opportunity to start a conversation. Maybe he just wants to complain.

"...Man, can you believe this place? I haven't even heard of half these bands before," He pauses, "Actually, I don't think I recognize any of them. I know this a weird place, but don't they at least have Nickelback or something?"

She gives a small smile and a tilt of her head. "You must be new here, then? Or maybe it's the other way around... Some people seem to acclimate very well, and they get used to living here... Not me, I can't forget where I came from, at least night right now..."

Nier kneads her hands together for a moment; if the right person was here, then maybe she could overlook their situation, but without them...

She shakes her head. "Ah, n-nevermind... There's a playwright in my world called Bill the Bard, they say his plays are some of the best in all the skydoms... I wonder if they might perform some of his work here? I wonder if there's a way to find out...?"

The girl's- Aoko's- forwardness keeps coming, and Nier finds herself smiling a little. It's nice to find people who are interested in her, rather than having to work at it. "I-I hope so, it's always nice to meet new people. Or, at least, kind-hearted people. I guess I like reading and writing... Not writing plays, just stories... I know a few musicians but they're very..."

There's a certain one that comes to mind, and he brings a frown to Nier's face. "They can be loud."

death? was she talking about another person or...was it the actual action of dying. aoko is very curious about the girl, but she is worried if she asked about this "death" individual it might turn into a completely conversation. maybe once aoko gets to know the person in front of her, then she could ask.

"now it didn't even occur to me that we are from different worlds, i wonder if the plays would be super interesting!" maybe even more fun than the popular ones that are from her world. "ah well, we have plays that are written by super popular in history."

it made her happy, talking normally with someone about mundane things such as plays. not that she didn't have talks like this with alice...sometimes it was a little hard to keep a proper conversation with her roommates.

oh right, she never introduced herself, "i'm aozaki aoko! feel free to call me aoko though. it's very nice to meet you, i think we could be good friends!" she gives nier a warm smile. "let's see...i don't really have any sort of hobbies per say, but i like messing around with guitars if that counts."

"well if we are objectively speaking, why do you think that?" maybe her sister should be here actually.

A shake dismissed the suggestion — dependent of the mage's history, any range of reactions might be anticipated when encountering a Servant, and hers had been much more amicable than many possibilities. Her guard had not been raised with the anticipation of potential hostility, rather a much more relaxed ambience that suited one familiar with the organisation currently operating and the unique nature of its extensive roster.

She took note of the woman's name — not one familiar, but it would be unsurprising if it held meaning to others, even among those present in their current domain. "That may be true, though you shall learn that many of the Servants summoned here are aligned as one under a singular Master, and, as a result, are more familiar with one another than during typical summons. the Saber class is also the most populated, so to avoid confusion, I have no issue with speaking it — my True Name is Arturia Pendragon. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Aoko".

so her reaction was something the servant deals with, this is probably an almost daily occurrence for her. hah...now she feels a little silly, of course this would happen. there must be several servants on this island then...hopefully aoko could meet them, but they might not be as friendly as this one.

"haha sorry then, my reaction must have been overkill huh?"

"well...my family wasn't too interested in the grail, but that doesn't mean i didn't learn about it." actually aoko doesn't even think through their history they have ever been in a holy grail war, it was more on perfecting their magecraft. "ah right, i'm aozaki aoko. you don't need to give me your true name if you don't want to...i know how valuable names are."

Initially, he thought having the H.D.D. might have been a waste of space, as useful as this device was back home. It was made for surveying the Hollows in New Eridu. But this place didn't have Hollows, so Wise deemed it as nothing more than paperweight here.

But he had a thought. What if he could use it here anyway? Spirale, as this place is called, had a lot of regions and areas that might be too dangerous to explore for him and his sister, Belle. Perhaps there might be a way to adapt the H.D.D. so that they might be able to use it here?

It was in the midst of this line of thinking that Wise heard a voice. "Hm? Oh, this?" Wise holds out the device to the young woman. "Unfortunately, it's kinda useless in here at the moment. ...Wherever here is, even." Wise sighed. He too, held a similar sentiment to being snagged away from his home. At least his sister was with him.

He smiled at the compliment. "Thanks. It's about the only thing I'm good at. That and managing a video shop but... well, I don't have that here either."

it was more or less out of curiosity, she isn't normally the type of person to stick her nose in anyone's business...but maybe right now she'll be a bit nose. aoko walks over to the older man to see what he was tinkering with, ah some sort of technology? "excuse me, what do you have in your hand there? would it be alright if i took a look at it?"

"i've never had to experience with such advanced technology." everyone on this island was an eye opener for aoko, evwn though she wanted to scream and yell about being 'unfairly being snagged from her home and placed here.' oh well, it was probably some sort of magic that brought her here. aoko promises to herself that she will look into this.

she hums, "you seem like you really know your stuff."

" Depends on what you think might be fun but surprisingly enough, they have a lot of activities here that you'd find back on Earth." if there's one thing that Ritsuka appreciates above everything else, it's a sense of normalcy. yes, she knows deep down that it's superficial at best and this city isn't free from troubles coming down on it like a hammer upon a glass piano. but to sit and wallow wasn't like her.

she would make the best of whatever situation she's found herself in, no matter what.

" There's a boardwalk with a lot of fun games, a mall, there's also some casinos if you like gambling. There's this outside theater with plays and musical performances and I'm pretty sure there's some arcades stuffed around here somewhere."

it was companionship that she felt with the other woman, not that aoko is the most extroverted person ever. it just helped that ritsuka was incredibly friendly. she was a master, yes, but aoko never felt anything intimidating with them. this sort of meetup could bring her into some sense of normalcy in her life.

being ripped away from everything you know and meeting a person who could be considered normal, this was a breath of fresh air.

"so, what kind of fun is there to do here ritsuka? i can't imagine being stuck on this island would be considered vacation for some."

Retirement be damned! Seems like our boy is still up to no good despite the like three year personal journey. Now, that isn't to say that Django lied about this at all. Oh no! The man has given up entirely on his pursuit of reforming his gang and dominating the island in some fashion. However, that sure as hell ain't gonna stop him from being an instigator. After all, old habits die hard.

" Scamming people? Is that what you think I'm doing? " he asks in a very desperate attempt to seem innocent. " No, no, no. I'm a reputable businessman just tryin' to make a living here. The last thing I'd ever want to do is violate someone's trust like that. It'd be downright shameful! "

it wasn't like aoko was paying much attention at the situation in front of her, actually she was trying real hard to ignore it. but somehow with her peering over and seeing a scam happening in real time, the perpetrator and her make eye contact.

ugh great.

scams back at home weren't nearly as common, but it didn't mean that they didn't happen...especially when they target vulnerable individuals.

"are you seriously trying to haggle me for something, why don't you have someone else do this for you?" whatever this was, aoko had no plans to even entertain the idea of whatever this man was planning. "i'm not one for scamming people, y'know."

⠀⠀⠀❛ ⠀Aozaki ?⠀ ❜ ⠀⠀RIN ⠀parrots, a bit more emphasis on the question than she would've liked. She's heard that name on occasion during her brief tenure at the Clock Tower. Trouble — that's what that name means, so they say. Of course, the Grail War was also just considered a 'silly Eastern ritual' by many, so it's not like the general consensus was that reliable... but even so, it was a tidbit to keep tucked away in her back pocket.

⠀⠀⠀At any rate, reputation only mattered as far as the individual allowed it to. Thus far, Aoko's given her no reason to overtly worry — if anything, her behavior's reminiscent of Tohsaka's high school days. She finds it relatively easy to smooth the creases in her expression, smile polite and tone serene. After all, the Aozakis clearly aren't the only ones with a reputation to worry about.

⠀⠀⠀❛ ⠀... Likewise. Honestly, even with all the people that find themselves on this island, it's difficult to find a fellow mage— much less one from the same reality as us. So I really mean it— it's good to meet you.⠀ ❜ ⠀

mages tended to have some sort of rivalry with each other, aoko could say she was happy she didn't (if you excluded her older sister). even living with alice, she never felt any sort of jealously towards them. so bumping into another magus and one from a prominent family, she feels as though she needs to crawl into a hole.

introductions were easy enough, but she hadn't even muttered her name out. it was an already awkward conversation, this is almost like meeting a celebrity. hopefully aoko could sway the conversation and just talk about something casual, like shopping or food.

man...this is so overwhelming.

"i was so star struck that i never gave you my name, it's nice to meet you miss tohsaka...i'm aozaki aoko."

Well, maybe she was right about him being loud. Wasn't that something Lu Woh kept telling him? Wilnas had been under the impression that it was part of his charm, but maybe ... was it overwhelming for other mortals? ❝ It wasn't my intent to startle you, ❞

How many others had he startled, then?

❝ Perhaps I should give some further explanation. I am rather new to being human- perhaps not so much as before, but I have spent countless mortal lifetimes as a dragon. ❞ Countless, because there were times where he would blink and the young mortals he'd seen before were hundreds of years deceased. It was something that he and the other dragons had experienced far too many times. It was part of the reason they'd chosen to mingle with mortals.

It was less lonely that way.

She was looking for a job. That was something important, wasn't it? Now that he was also a mortal ⎛ for real, this time ⎠ , he'd need a way to survive and make ends meet- as he'd heard others say.

❝ Mortals work hard for their survival, don't they? I find it admirable! ❞

❝ Perhaps I should find something to do as well! Yes, let's see what this Pearl Street has to offer! ❞

the young magus was just wandering really, since there was no school duties to attend to there was a lot of free time she had accumulated. aoko could be practicing her magecraft, but with the stars limiting her abilities it had been almost impossible. maybe she should try looking for a part-time job to cure her boredom.

the golden ward had a shopping area and maybe one of the shops was hiring someone part-time. since the young mage was in the area, getting to pearl street wasn't going to be a massive undertaking for her. of course before she was on her way, aoko was stopped by a booming voice.

"holy shi-" stopping herself while looking to the tall figure in front of her. "has anyone ever told you how loud you are!?" okay that was a little rude, but she really needed to give him a piece of her mind. this guy could be from the same place that nier is from, he certainly has the aura about him.

aoko gives him a look over one more time, he looks human? of course he is dressed sort of oddly...but everything else seemed human. she probably looks incredibly confused to the taller man in front of her. "i haven't been here long myself, so i can't say i have found something i enjoyed right now." actually it was because she hasn't explored everything yet.

"i guess you could follow me, i was planning on heading towards pearl street. i was on my way to possibly look for a job to pass the time."

"Bully is a bit of an understatement. Terrorize would be the better term."

"wow, the stars really like to bully all of us, huh?"

"It's fine, I wasn't really thinking about anything important... Just... daydreaming, I guess... I can't remember if I've ever seen a play, and Death doesn't either... So I guess it would be a new experience for both of us."

Nier spends much of her time in the city like this, merely wandering and thinking to herself. But although she walks without a companion, she's never really alone; Death is always with her, they're just not fond of revealing her presence in public.

"But that's not to say I'm not familiar... I've read some scripts, I've just never seen them performed... Then again, I don't know if the plays from my world would be the same as the ones here..."

More idle daydreaming, she muses. It's getting somewhat late, so perhaps she should surrender such thinking for now and return home. She's half-turned on her heel when the other girl speaks again, and makes an enticing offer. Nier turns back, eyes wide.

"Ah... Together...? That's... I'd really enjoy that. It's so nice to be able to spend time together, ehehehe... O-oh, wait, I... I don't know you."

It was such an entrancing idea that she'd nearly forgotten this was a complete stranger. So she bows her head and gives a small smile. "My name is Nier... It's very nice to meet you. You're interested in the theater too, then? I like reading stories, so watching them being acted out sounds interesting..."

maybe it was the shock that an empty theater would allow anyone in. back home, at least after the audience leaves and everything was clean the doors would lock. does the owner in spirale perhaps trust the citizens not to trash the place?

"sorry, i didn't mean to make you lose your train of thought there!" and by the looks of it she didn't spook the other either, that's good. "i'm in the same boat as you, i don't believe i've ever seen a live performance." aoko was a little too preoccupied wit her studies.

aoko could understand the sentiment, being in crowded place can impact her in a way. though, it's more like irritation gets the better of her and just wants to find a way out. "i suppose i understand how you feel, about the crowded places i mean. also i'm sure they'll hold another show here at some point," she pauses...did this girl perhaps not have anyone to go with if a play had been present?

"would you like to see a play with me in the future? i wouldn't mind, that way the both of us can watch one."

"wow, the stars really like to bully all of us, huh?"

As a magus, the reaction was perhaps more rational than continuing about as usual after crossing ways with a Heroic Spirit — the exception being in the range of a Holy Grail War. Certainly encountering a Servant beyond the battle lines fell outside expectations, and thus did Saber exhibit no reactive surprise in turn.

"It is fine. This should be an unusual scenario".

Chaldea and Spirale were hubs were what might be unfathomable in the minds of mages became reality, and those summoned became used to that extraordinary. but for someone new to either or both, it must be a bewildering concept.

"In fact, most Masters could say the same themselves — few engage with a Servant prior to summoning their own. Though it would seem you've not done so yourself".

heroic spirits, she remembers learning about them when she was younger. familiars that are used to with their masters to the death to obtain the holy grail. but for the aozaki family, it wasn't anything that they were super interested in...in fact she doesn't even think they've ever participated it.

shocked wouldn't even describe what aoko was feeling, the woman in front of her was no doubt one. so regal and beautiful, are all servants like this? she feels like her has to bow her head, the blond obviously posed some sort rank.

"a heroic spirit!? this is the first time i've ever seen one," she coughs in her fist to gain composure. "excuse me for my behavior, as magus still learning...you are the very first servant i've come across."
