GDPR fines are no fucking joke, they would need every penny to have any chance of paying it off, and shutting off servers the moment they are notified is NOT outside of the possibility.

I've worked at a tech company while they got hit with a GDPR investigation notice. it's a catastrophic, all hands on deck kind of situation because of how expensive the fines are.

Currently reading: So many books....One general overview of art history, some about niche things like horses in art, japanese art etc. some about and some artist like Ernst Häckel, William Morris, Gustave Dorè etc. The other books I'm reading are, a deepdive about pigeons, one of my favorite childhood books (Die Stadt der Träumenden Bücher) the second book of the Howl saga, celtic folklore and some manga/light novels/fics to have something easier to digest on the side. I am a scatterbrain and need to have at least five books about different topics to cycle through.

Current obsession: Currently I fell back into my pigeon interest, which came packaged in a nifty lil bird obsession. There's also my Prsk Hyperfocus kept alive by the sheer goodness of vocaloid music. I want to mention that there are some blooming interests in medival culture and germanic languages, but I'm unsure about the depth they will take.

In my experience, people pulling this shit aren’t actually trying to help you. They’re mostly just trying to soothe their own conscience by pretending that reaching out “fixes” all of their past mistakes. Steer clear is the one advice I’d give. Spend your time and effort on people who are willing to do the same for you!

I’ve had bad experiences with winning stuff personally with my name/blog published afterwards, angry people whining to me about how they should have won instead of me, people telling me they needed/deserved the stuff more than me, people hassling me to tell the host that they should get the stuff instead of me, etc. That’s why I’ve chosen not to do that with the winners of my giveaways here.

I can go through my old DMs and ask around for more people to testify that I’m legit if you are still worried though, both from people who have won previous giveaways and people who have bought books from me through here.

Tag Game

I was tagged by @ducktoothcollection, who has impeccable taste in reblogs and is just the right level of weird.

Last songs I listened to- “Another Room in your Head” by Molly Gordon and Colton Ryan from Alice by Heart, and “Sick to death of Alice-ness”  from the same weird Alice in Wonderland/London Blitz musical. I also listened to the new Halestorm album. 

Last movie I watched- My roommate insisted I would like Pitch Perfect. She was correct. I can’t believe I got to adulthood without watching this trashy/sexy masterpiece.

Currently watching- My neighbours have hung a disco ball on their veranda and my cat is mesmerised by the reflected light spots. Watching my cat play feels amazing.

Currently reading- I’m working my way through the Stormlight Archives by BranSan and I’m also rereading “An Empire of Plants” by Will and Toby Musgrave. It is a fascinating (and sometimes hilarious) look at the plants that changed the British Empire. The discovery (botanical piracy) of quinine by poor Richard Spruce is my favourite part.
