the fuckin mgr 4chan discourse post has me rolling how do you look at a game about the meaning of justice/freedom being different for everyone and that moral hypocrisy exists as “we need it to be a black and white morality game we need all games to be that way”

i love media that gives you unreliable narrators or makes you play as a morally wrong individual!!! i love media that challenges your outlook or makes you try and see why some people think the way that they do!!!!!!

#shantien rambles #i wanted to say so much on the tags of the comparison to the helldivers 2 discourse post but held myself back #honestly if every game was about good guy saves the world from bad guy it would be boring #if you come out of something like helldivers and think yeah morally wrong thing is good then that says more about you than the game #it’s like when people get all pissy over shooter games for existing by allegedly promoting gun violence #most people who play them don’t have a gun or at least wouldn’t come out thinking it’s good #fiction may mirror reality but there are things that need to be treated as blatantly fictional #the video games cause violence discourse will never die and it’s so sad it’s hilarious
