Orchid (Tanlorin x F!OC)
It's just some fluff. it's short. I had wanted to do more plot but that can be another thing. I may post on AO3 at some point. No warnings. idk what I'm doing lol. I'm just incredibly gay for Tan.
“Pen?”
Penelope hummed, barely looking up from the alchemy table. She held up a small bottle to the candlelight. “Yes, Tan?”
Tanlorin pouted as the Breton ignored them. They crossed their arms. “Penelope….” They whined.
Penelope looked over at the frustrated elf. “Oh, uhm I’m sorry, Tan…. Give me a moment. Please. I’ll make it up to you.” She turned back to the table. She measured out a few more flowers into the mortar. As she grabbed the pestle, Tanlorin placed their hand on hers. She turned to look up at the elf. She admired their beautiful purple eyes and glowing runic tattoos. “I'm sorry.”
Tanlorin leaned close. Their lips close to Penelope’s cheeks. The heat of their breath fogged her glasses. “You can finish this later. It’s not imperative at the moment.”
Penelope nodded. Her cheeks heated from Tanlorin’s breath and her own embarrassment. “Alrighty. What’s wrong?” Penelope removed her glasses and wiped them on her shirt.
Tanlorin placed their hands on the table behind Penelope and leaned closer. “I seem….” They stopped talking as they looked between Penelope’s different colored eyes. They looked at her freckles and then down at her lips.
“Tan?” Penelope tilted her head. “What’s wrong, my friend?”
The Altmer groaned and rested their head on Penelope’s shoulder. They mumbled incoherently as they wrapped their arms around Penelope. “By Auri-el.” Tanlorin pulled away and looked at Penelope’s face again, leaning close and kissing her lips.
Penelope whimpered. She moved away as soon as Tanlorin pulled away. “Divines. Oh, divines.” Tanlorin stopped Penelope’s pacing. Penelope looked up at the High Elf. “I….” She chewed on her lip. She searched Tanlorin’s worried face. “You…. Uh.”
“I kissed you. You’ve ignored my other flirtation.”
“I didn’t think you were serious.” Penelope looked down and at her glasses. “Not with me…. I told you….”
Tanlorin put their knuckle under Penelope’s chin and tilted her face. “And I seem to find myself increasingly attracted to you.” They bit their lip.
Penelope covered her face. “Tan….”
Tanlorin rubbed the back of their head, through the undercut. They sighed as they turned away. “I know. I know.” They groaned. “It wasn’t serious at first. But….”
“But? Tan. I told you….”
“It’s serious now.”
Penelope watched as the elf nervously kicked at the ground and fiddled with their hair. She grabbed their hand. “Is it truly serious? Because I would try with you. But if this is…. Just….” Tanlorin turned and looked down at Penelope. “I know you don’t want to hurt me.”
“I won’t. I can’t.” They put their hands on Penelope’s face. “I care too much about you, Pen.”
Penelope nodded. She closed her eyes. “You know how delicate I actually am. I am no different than an orchid.”
“I can take care of those really well.” Tanlorin smirked and took a step closer to the shorter Breton.
“I know you can.” Penelope smiled finally. “I am serious though, Tan. Tanlorin.”
“As am I.”
Penelope reached up and traced the stitching on their lapels. She looked up, getting lost in a sea of lavender eyes. She gripped their shirt and pulled them down for a kiss, parting her lips for Tanlorin.
