Genuinely all I have thought about for the last half hour is Agent Cooper, when Workaholic Not So Anonymous is probably set, and the historical context thereof and how all of that prolly affected his views on his feelings towards Louie and Florida.

before you go any furth make sure you go and read, kudos and comment on this fic -> Fed 2,367 by guessimdemoms because it's where I got the idea of human DC.

then I named him Danail Cooper to justify why he would get the nickname DC when they already had the District

from there I started my own set of head canons. like how humans can become personifications if needed. Like the CDC is Dr Joseph W. Mountin and the FBI is Charlse Joseph Bonaparte. (Lots of Josephses) is Daniel's middle name Joseph? who knows?

So I personally have no idea what it was like to be a gay man in the 1960's in the USA but that's where YOU DID WHAT ON THE TABLE and Workaholics Not So Anonymous are set. YDWOTT is about 3 months into Agent Cooper's 3 Year contract and WNSA is 2 years and 8 months after that.

I did try to play into him knowing and accepting he's gay and probably going to be single forever because he doesn't really do one-night stands and as a Federal Agent he'll be more scrutinized. He's happy for the States, that they can do what they want, but he himself still lives in 1960's USA and it's still frowned upon.

he knows Florida and Louie are dating and are happy they have the statehouse to be free of people who might judge them. he now knows that the states can take different forms.

Free head canon for you: New York is an Autistic Sex-Neutral Asexual who has a low sex drive and hate sudden touches while his boyfriends Massachusetts and Virginia are pan and bi (respectively) giant horn bags.

so, DC has seen Mass and Ginnie make out but didn't make the connection with New York, so he doesn't know or understand that polyamory is accepted in the statehouse.

It isn't until after WNSA that DC realizes that it's all okay, that California is dating Texas and boning Alaska (they don't start 'dating' until the 1990's) AND having one-night stands with human strangers. He finds out about New York during the AIDS crisis. He finds out about Washington/Oregon/Idaho at New Year's 2000 when they all pass out on each other.

it certainly takes some internalized undoing of human ideals and phobias but with the state's help he comes out to be the cute adorableness he is today.

a welcomed and maybe odd change to With No Strings Attached, 'Blue' is going to become a OFC. frankie will still call her Blue, but also sometimes maybe her name.

by this I mean she is going to have a real name (now updated on part one and not used elsewhere yet, and is under the cut if you don't want to go hunting for it), a backstory in terms of her profession, and some nods to likes/dislikes etc and maybe clothing in terms of dress/trousers/romper/shorts. but her physical description will remain as it is, by that I mean blank. no mention of hair or styling, face or anything.

i've found the more i've written this pair, the more it felt like i needed to give them a little something more. it's not just smut for me, even if i wanted it to be (shakes fist) and I've fallen for them (who is shocked? not fucking anyone I've opened up to hahah).

and so, the change was necessary for me. the story will be still told in the "you" format, we'll still be exploring kinks and smutty-goodness, but there are things i want to write between those to deepen that bond.

anyway, that is all. hoping more of their story will land next week 🫑

WNSA outtake / WNSA lore: in chapter one, Blue was meant to eat blueberry pancakes, not pie. but I realised how many stacks that would be and I was like “my girl is gonna be so full of pancakes she won’t wanna be full of 🍆”—and the reason it was pancakes is because I’ve found somewhere that does amazing gluten free pancakes and I was thinking about those when my brain created Blue.

Okay this is such a delayed reaction forgive me but am I making things up or did I read a couple weeks ago Frankie and Blue will exist beyond WSNA in a series in another series that would go up to the movie events or even post-movie events au???? I like read this and freaked out I am pretty sure and then got busy at work lmao. If this is real and not my own projection I am fully ready to cry sob be horny on main. so many questions. Would he be with Blue when he gets busted with the drugs? Would Blue be PREGNANT?! Would she be pissed about the drugs or is it just like shit luck in this AU? Does he tell her the truth about the mission? If so, how is she okay with it? If not, how could he lie to her? I literally would live AND die for that angst. so, you read it correctly! I’d love them to go a bit post-the movie, I think! the part of that is foggy with how far, but they’ll deffo be up to him returning, post mission etc. there’s a lot of questions, some of them is a straight forward yes, some I’m going to say hold on tight, but we have a long way off — which kinda means… you’re going to get a lot of them.

I think they’ll likely remain in the WNSA world as it is, the oneshot in the “collection” will be added bits that either get requested for them or just fun things (like the pick me pumpkin, as it’s seasonal, that I can slot in). the more I’ve thought about it, with no strings attached meant one thing to them, but it slowly means another, and I think it evolves as they evolve? (bloody hell jo, calm the poetics hahah).

but yeah, you didn’t create an entire world, I did, and while they were meant to just be kinks, they’ve shifted into something else. one good suggestion someone gave me is to treat chapter one (the synopsis thing rn) as like the chapter index of a kindle book, to allow for any TWs or kinks and let everyone protect themselves? which is nice, and then we can just continue with them as they are? but I’m open to suggestions—this is new to me too!

so short answer, no! so do not worry! long answer I’ll put under the cut:

so, the two chapters that you can see are kinks that I’ve got left to tick off for what I originally started with. because when I first began writing this pair, they weren’t meant to be a series 😂 (oh, how we laugh now) because I’d finished do me yourself and I didn’t know if I was emotionally ready.

but, blue and frankie have lived in me for so long that as soon as I began writing them, they just kept worming their way out of the kink list box I put them in.

so, the “main” series is going to be longer and if it’s okay with everyone (no one is going to mind are they) they’ll likely go up to the film if not passed it. I genuinely have enough ideas — it just might mean we skip some years, maybe back fill them with one shots / drabbles etc — a bit like pick me pumpkin, which is sorta an “extra?” which is why I’ve made it a collection so we can keep it all nice and organised.

I’m still going to keep chapter one as the run down, just so people can skip any kinks they might have to (I have trauma myself, so I know how much I’d appreciate just knowing what I’m walking into).
