before you go any furth make sure you go and read, kudos and comment on this fic -> Fed 2,367 by guessimdemoms because it's where I got the idea of human DC.

then I named him Danail Cooper to justify why he would get the nickname DC when they already had the District

from there I started my own set of head canons. like how humans can become personifications if needed. Like the CDC is Dr Joseph W. Mountin and the FBI is Charlse Joseph Bonaparte. (Lots of Josephses) is Daniel's middle name Joseph? who knows?

So I personally have no idea what it was like to be a gay man in the 1960's in the USA but that's where YOU DID WHAT ON THE TABLE and Workaholics Not So Anonymous are set. YDWOTT is about 3 months into Agent Cooper's 3 Year contract and WNSA is 2 years and 8 months after that.

I did try to play into him knowing and accepting he's gay and probably going to be single forever because he doesn't really do one-night stands and as a Federal Agent he'll be more scrutinized. He's happy for the States, that they can do what they want, but he himself still lives in 1960's USA and it's still frowned upon.

he knows Florida and Louie are dating and are happy they have the statehouse to be free of people who might judge them. he now knows that the states can take different forms.

Free head canon for you: New York is an Autistic Sex-Neutral Asexual who has a low sex drive and hate sudden touches while his boyfriends Massachusetts and Virginia are pan and bi (respectively) giant horn bags.

so, DC has seen Mass and Ginnie make out but didn't make the connection with New York, so he doesn't know or understand that polyamory is accepted in the statehouse.

It isn't until after WNSA that DC realizes that it's all okay, that California is dating Texas and boning Alaska (they don't start 'dating' until the 1990's) AND having one-night stands with human strangers. He finds out about New York during the AIDS crisis. He finds out about Washington/Oregon/Idaho at New Year's 2000 when they all pass out on each other.

it certainly takes some internalized undoing of human ideals and phobias but with the state's help he comes out to be the cute adorableness he is today.

don't worry, nothing is happening. i've been working on the next "season" for them and I've been really loving writing in 3rd-person, so I've decided to take the plunge and write them in the 3rd-person.

even though i changed it early on to an OC, i was worried about changing tense on people mid-story. but now season one is complete, i thought before i get into the next part, i could make this change now.

I've been spending some time re-editing them into 3rd in Notion (I'm at 5 out of 11 currently) and before i update each of the chapters, i wanted to give anyone who wished to download the fic as it is NOW, a chance to do so.

NOTE: the story remains the exact same, nothing is being replaced or changed, it's just the tense and livvie's name being used more in the early chapters because she wasn't as much of an OC then.

hi jo, this is a late message about blindfolded birthday. thank you so very much for dropping that last week. it was a much needed holiday distraction and absolute perfection, as always. i will never get over how well WNSA (and really all your stories) manage to strike a balance between funny, hot, but an endless emotional depth. frankie and blue have such rich interior lives *sigh* i feel like i'm experiencing it myself during these glimpses we get into their time together. you do a beautiful job of showing not telling as they say hehe. i love their banter. from the beginning it has been great but especially so as we deeper we get into it with them. it flowed effortlessly in the latest, both when they're flirting leading up to fun sexy time and then when she dropped the birthday bomb. wanted to grab her by the shoulders and shake her for withholding that detail lol. that image of blue boxing away possible disappointment at missed dinner plans and placing it neatly with the other things she doesn't express was beautifully expressed (how would even know it is important if he doesn't know what day it is, blue?!?!) and the image of the truth catching in her throat later on... ugh these terrible communicators! you make it hurt so good, jo! okay, i'll stop ranting but shout out to how hot it alwaysssss is with them. the build up between their meal and when she does tell him the birthday tidbit had me sweating, when she's basically like writhing in frankie's presence. she's so real for that. you must stop writing so well. 😵 thank you again for inviting us into this world. tbh last couple weeks were no bueno, but i was able to revisit some earlier chapters when i had time during the holiday here in the states and it was super helpful to get lost in your world. indebted to you 4everrrr for sharing your creativity with us. i would say i am ready to get annihilated later today, but i absolutely am not and frankly, i am scared! please remember me fondly in case the next installment destroys me. 😂 all my love,🥧anon.

one of the things ive loved so much about writing them is just the "surrendering" i do with them? I've not had this with a couple as powerfully as this, and i think that's why the fact you said it seamlessly flows makes my day. because it's so different for me writing them now than it was when i began. I've learnt so much through them. like blue initially (as you remember) was never going to have a name, but now, i couldn't think of her ever not having one. (sometimes i wonder if this should have been third person but, it's fine, it's a lot to change now and we love her like this).

im so glad you loved the way she boxed up that disappointment, it was so important to me for her to have this moment. to do this thing that sometimes, i as a person also does which is: stuff down and hope, and she did it and then her birthday news slips out anyway.
