It was a losing battle. Nothing Soroban said got through to the three who had raised her through much of her childhood. Not even old man Genbu could force them to see reason.

"The last time she left, we nearly lost her to those foul fiends born from hopeless nightmares!" Byakko roared.

"Strong though she is—far stronger than when she set off to join those ijin—she is still bound by mortal constraints," Suzaku continued. "Surely you understand that we cannot in good conscience let her wander so far from home yet again."

Genbu sighed. "She survived going to another world and is even working to find a means of restoring it. What more must she do to prove herself capable of living on her own?"

Seiryu scoffed. "She may have survived going to that lost world, but it came at the cost of her remaining sight." He raised his sword higher. "I will not suffer another sacrifice forced to be made by my little kitsune."

Remia knocked her fist against her chin, a wry smile curling her lips. "Looks like I'll be extending my visit, Soroban."

The Kojin sighed. "I'll have Senri help prepare dinner..."

Glamtober | Day 13: Othard

One of my surprise favorite optional stories in the game (so far) was the Four Lords questline, so I decided to pay homage to that. Set out to make a Byakko glam and ended up with Suzaku, somehow. Cue an entire AU scenario in which Suzaku tests the WoL by fusing with her, forcing all of her thousands of years of infatuation/passion/heartbreak/loneliness into her feeble mortal mind to see if she can endure and overcome it.

Rornir and Suzaku

Rornir doesn't follow the 12 of Eorzea. His deities are many, called the Kami, and include majestic ancient beings called the Auspices. His main patron and protector is Lady Suzaku, who saved him after he jumped into the Ruby Sea. She saw fire in him. Passion. Love. Creativity, a burning will. She saw in him a reflection of Tenzen.

He had a second chance because of her. To rise from the ashes of his dark past and fulfill his potential. and He will forever be grateful to her. For her fury, her wisdom, her passion, and her love. This Easter, he celebrates a return to life, hatched anew by the flames of hope and fate, rising from the ashes of despair...and having a fine laugh about it, because this is way to serious for him.

When I dream, just before the light of dawn wakes me, I see you watching over me. "Come away with me, Minti. Come away," you whisper.

"I still love you, Tenzen. Fall into my wings' embrace, and be with the one who loved you before all others. You will never be alone again, my dearest mortal."

I know the dream, and the promises you make, aren't real.

I know what we had wasn't good.

But that doesn't mean I can't long to be with you again.

Call it blasphemy, call it whatever you like.

It was real, for a little, wasn't it? What we had. Our love.

Will you come back for me, before I leave this place for the Endless Sea? Do you promise to love me then, as you do now?
