Jack: You gave me a real smile. Jack: Eh? Could it be? Did you think that was a confession? In a way, it could be something like that~ Jack: Even if I get a lover someday, you're the most important person to me. Jack: After all, friendship between men is a bond that ties even more tightly than romantic love~
Note: I believe this is from the kizuna event where Jack confesses, but this is what you would’ve gotten if you were playing as the male cadet. Somehow, this feels even more romantic.

I swear I sketched this as a warmup sketch for patrons long before I discovered that Agito translation (the last repost) 🤣 but as I needed an art to drop for August 17th, it seemed fitting to finish this one 👌
If I could ask for any canonical info to be divulged in all ff, it’d be “please give us a birthday for Kurasame.” 🤣 but for now this unfortunate date choice will have to do 👀 (sorry Jack, but happy birthday to you also 🤣)

Zi-O 41: *SCREAMING*
:THE BLOGGER IS NOT OKAY WITH THIS:
We open with the final scene from episode 40; Sougo charging Oma Zi-O, after getting a pair of Blade transformation screens (specifically, Blade and Garren’s) thrown at him, and a green-and-purple whirlwhind sent in his direction. Interestingly, when the whirlwind connects, the W emblem rises up along with the explosion. After attempting to trade punches – with zero effect on Sougo’s part – the kid summons Build with his Grand Zi-O panel, and. Oma Zi-O summons Kuuga.
Sougo uses the same technique as in 40 – he touches the figurine, the Build emblem appears while the name is announced, and a window reading 2017 moves backward, with Build appearing through it. Oma Zi-O, however, just holds out a hand, with the Kuuga emblem showing up with the same announcement. Notably, the emblem here is torso-sized, as opposed to figurine-sized. Kuuga appears in a bit of a blur, but there is a distinct lack of any other adornment.
Oma Zi-O’s jump over the two now-fighting riders has a bit of a flashstep effect to it, which is. Worrying. Also it breaks my heart a little to see Build and Kuuga fighting, which is not helped in the slightest by my having recently finished Decade and watching Showa V Heisei for the first time. But as Sougo attempts to hit Oma Zi-O, still with zero effect, Build and Kuuga launch their respective Rider Kicks at each other – no announcements from the Build Driver, which is probably for the best. Build disappears in an explosion, shortly followed by Kuuga winking out of existence.
Hm….
OH NO. SOUGO NO! YOU STILL HAVEN’T PROPERLY GOTTEN THE DRIVE WATCH! DON’T USE DRIVE!
-
See what you’ve done? Now Oma Zi-O’s taken control of him, with a scary red spark effect, and definite sounds of struggle that are very much Shinnosuke’s voice. His helmet’s eyes momentarily light up red, and the standard Tridoron horn sound plays – and then plays again, slowed way the heck down.
And it’s really nice to see the Type Speed finisher again, and to hear Krim announcing the Tridoron, but! Those are still Shinnosuke’s grunts of effort! And said finisher is being launched to great effect at Sougo! To the point of knocking him out of Grand, and back to being just plain old Sougo.
Woz warps in – with a very Time Jacker-y blur to his first few steps – and rushes to Sougo’s side, helping him up. And Sougo is angry when he asks why he can’t even touch his future self.
“You haven’t obtained the powers of all the Riders.”
And at least SOMEONE based in 2019 remembers that we still haven’t had a Drive arc! Namely, Woz, reminding Sougo, the kids at home, and the production staff, that the Drive watch we currently have was stolen from 2068 by Geiz.
…I wonder why they went with Ghost and Drive. I know that at least part of the reason is that the staff wasn’t sure if they’d be able to get the actors back, but that didn’t exactly stop them in other arcs.
SOUGO NO! You can’t go trying to fight him still! You’re not transformed! You can barely walk!
I don’t think we have ever seen Sougo actually angry before. Not like this – all furious and glaring, desperate to take. Him. Down. Not that it helps him at all, not with the massive explosions that Oma Zi-O is setting off around him.
Woz’s scarf is so handy. He sends it out to wrap around Sougo, warping him away.
“For personal reasons, I have decided to side with Past You.”
Oma Zi-O looks surprised, but then. Woz starts walking up to him. (Drive is still here, by the way!)
Oma Zi-O: “Well done, Woz. You’ve made a wise choice.”
Me: wait what.
Woz: “It is my pleasure.”
Me: Wait WHAT?
A multicolored rippling effect washes over the area, incidentally fading Drive out of existence.
Woz: wait what.
Oma Zi-O: Oh, looks like someone’s changed the flow of time...
The entire scene fades out – in a manner very reminiscent of what you see when film footage dissolves.
-
Sougo wakes up on the ground, in a location that we haven’t seen before. A mansion is at the top of the staircase. In front of said mansion…
Me: WAIT WHAT?!
In front of said mansion is a statue. The statue… is of Kakogawa Hiyru, Another Zi-O, in his not-so-civilian form that we saw in the preview. He’s holding his Another Watch at his waist, in the manner he previously used to transform, and is surrounded by Another Riders in action poses. It’s all grey and aged, with a plague at the base that I can’t read, because RiderTime didn’t sub it. But I’m willing to bet that it says “In commemoration of the first transformation of Kakogawa Hiryuu.”
-
I AM THREE MINUTES IN. THIS HAS TAKEN A HALF HOUR, WITH THE REWINDING TO CATCH DETAILS AND THE TYPING. SEND HELP.
-
Okay I made the grave mistake of jumping into Discord for a minute, and have promptly left Discord, but not before being cued in to look carefully at the Another Rider statues.
So, the first shot of them… From left to right, we see Kiva, OOO, Fourze, Ghost, Build, Ex-Aid, Gaim, and Wizard. Interestingly, all of them except for Build are doing their Rider’s signature poses, albeit with the standard corruption. Because Early Installment Weirdness is such a thing for Another Build that he was basically feral, and that has clearly carried over.
I can’t get over how the statues are just. Clearly still shots of the actual characters with a really bad filter over them, and terribly CG’d in. The budget for this episode must be going tot he fight scenes. … HUH. From the back, it looks like Another Build is trying to do Sento’s pose, albeit with considerably less success than everyone else. I guess the terrible filter made it really hard to see from the front, with him overlapping all of the other sections.
Okay, as the camera pans down to the plague, I see Another Agito on the right, and I can’t for the life of me make out who that is second from the left, but. The second from the right sure looks like it has Decade’s shoulders. And the head on the left sure looks like a warped version of Drive’s helmet.
Guess we’re getting Another Drive and Decade after all!
-
Woz’s Recap this week is him on an inexplicable bench swing in the middle of a wooded area, with Sougo none the wiser to his presence as he stumbles around the trees.
And apprently, by ‘the flow of time has changed’, we mean Woz warped Sougo to yet another alternate timeline, except this time it’s 2019, and he’s implying that the future where Sougo becomes Oma Zi-O has been completely derailed.
And that mansion is in a wooded area, alright. A large one, several city blocks worth. And we can tell.
Because we get a zoom-out, and see that it’s in the middle of a city.
With a whole lot of sirens in the background.
And a whole lot of buildings on fire.
-
!!!
New opening narration for the OP!
RiderTime translates it as… “The Heisei Kamen Riders have run through the era. Their powers now collected, the curtain of the final battle has risen! Clear the way! For the future of the True King!”
For reference, the previous narration, as subbed by RT, is “The Heisei Kamen Riders have run through the Heisei era. A new legend is starting that inherits all their powers. Rejoice! For the birth of the new King!”
And as translated by Overtime, it’s “The legacy of the Heisei Kamen Riders has carried on throughout the era. Once their power has been passed on, a new legend begins… Rejoice! For the birth of the ultimate king!”
The shot of () in the OP has been replaced by all the Heisei Riders striking their poses, and then coalescing into a ball of light, which breaks and shows Grand. First with just the helmet – then zooming out to a fullbody shot, with the 20 emblems fanning out behind him in a circle… and those odd circles of light dropping down around him, that I failed to mention from the first Grand transformation last time.
-
Sougo emerges from the forest into a city apparently at war. Rubble is strewn everywhere, and several people in fatigues with guns run by down the street, the sound of gunfire in the distance. Sougo, time-traveler that he is, goes to pick up a tattered poster, confirming that it is, in fact, 2019.
Our camera zooms out, freezeframing with the sound of a camera shutter and framing the scene.
Hey there, Tsukasa! Nice to see you again, you wonderful troll, you! He’s in fatigues – clearly what he was assigned when he arrived here – and. TWO cameras. Tsukasa, ffs. He’s still got his Magenta one, but also a brown one – that is some variant on a polaroid instant camera, since it ejects a photo right after he takes it. It’s about time he learned to carry something like that.
And his photos are still supernaturally bad – with all their eerie foreshadowing abilities intact. Case in point…
Tsukasa: “So, this is the end of this world.”
He pulls the printed photo from the camera.
Tsukasa: “Then what will you do now, Tokiwa Sougo?”
We see the photo. There’s none of the recurring double-imaging here that used to be seen in so many of Tsukasa’s pictures. Instead… Sougo is half faded from existence, the wall and abandoned shop stall showing through him in places.
(Also, Tsukasa looks exhausted. Get some sleep, sir.)
-
There’s barricades and fencing outside of 9-to-5. It’s not a clock repair shop anymore.
It’s a resistance shelter.
And one of the people, a woman tending someone’s wounds, asks who Sougo is.
And his uncle doesn’t recognize him – tries to attack him with a daikon radish, even.
Tsukuyomi’s voice comes in over the radio, saying that Another Riders are attacking a shelter, asking someone to send help.
Sougo asks where it is, and says he’ll be right back, running off.
Junichiro: (scandalized) “Young people these days act overfamiliar… even though we just met!”
Ow, my heart.
-
Another Kiva and OOO are attacking some refugees. Please note, literal machine guns have no effect on them! That’s! That’s just great!
(I’m still not okay with the eyes on Another Kiva’s shoulders, BTW.)
Geiz – in armor – and Tsukuyomi work to fight off the Another Riders and get the former civilians out of there, respectively. Geiz draws Another OOO away, and Tsukuyomi gets Kiva off of a group. At least the Faiz Phone X can make them flinch, if only a little. Enough to actually serve as a nuisance, before Another Kiva lifts her by the neck as Sougo runs in.
He knocks Kiva off of her, by vaulting over the staircase railing and nailing them with a kick, and asks if she’s okay. Tsukuyomi also does not recognize him!
Hey, Sougo, maybe at least try using your name when you’re trying to totally-not-re-introduce yourself to people who don’t know who you are? It might help, I dunno, jog some memories locked by the time distortion.
You know, I’ve commented before on how Sougo could take hits really well at the beginning of the season. But now he’s full body tackling Another Riders, knocking them back. Actually, no, scratch that. After Tsukuyomi paused time for everyone in the room sans herself – good for her – and grabs the Faiz Phone X to shoot Another Kiva, when time starts back up? Said Another Rider goes after her, and Sougo just blocks them. Just takes the hit, arms raised defensively, and Another Kiva is the only one to be knocked back. Sougo doesn’t even budge. This young man is made of iron.
And also very confused as to why Geiz would think that he would run, proceeding to pull out the Zi-O II watch, transforming.
Geiz knows who Zi-O is.
I somehow doubt he knows the same Zi-O as we do, though.
Also, for this Geiz, at least, the Time Burst kick can be channeled through just. Straight up holding Another OOO against the wall with his foot, and charging the attack down through his leg, exploding Another OOO with a notable coin effect amid the flames.
And although we can’t exactly seen Geiz’s face, because helmet, he’s probably sharing Tsukuyomi’s scared expression right now.
-
What, no stained glass effects when Sougo’s finisher takes out Another Kiva? I’m disappointed.
Tsukuyomi and Geiz come on the underground scene… and Tsukuyomi immediately shoots Sougo several times with her blaster. Geiz is ready to do a violence, and proceeds to start attacking.
Geiz: “So you’ve made your presense known, Zi-O – today you meet your end!”
Sougo: “Why?”
Geiz: “I’ll defeat the Great Overlord and save this world!”
Geiz: “That is our, the Resistance’s, mission in life!”
I noticed that he used the term ‘daimyō’ there – not whichever term it is he usually uses to refer to Oma Zi-O in the regular timeline. Interesting. Though, to be fair… the preview shots of Hiryuu looked like he was using a very different version of absolutely terrible taste than the regular Oma Zi-O.
A single direct blow from Revive Fury is all it took to knock Sougo out of his transformation.
He’s so confused, and scared, because nobody recognizes him, and he doesn’t know what’s going on. He can’t get any answers, and he’s so sad that his only family and friends, the only ones he’s had around him in years, have no idea who he is. Are all so willing to attack him.
To the point of when Sougo is practically begging to be told what’s happened. Geiz attacks him.
Still transformed.
Still using Revive Fury.
Still using the buzzsaw.
Sougo’s not transformed.
Me: :BARELY CONTAINED SHRIEKING:
There’s a painful looking slice on Sougo’s arm and cheek – there are scorch marks where his shirt was cut open.
Geiz refuses to listen to anything Sougo has to say… and readies another attack.
Aimed right at the prone Sougo’s neck.
Me: THIS IS NOT FINE.
I mean, yes, time paused, leaving Sougo free to move – BUT VERY CLEARLY HAVING BEEN AT MOST A SECOND FROM LITERAL DECAPITATION.
AHHHHHHH!
But… who paused time? UHR. Telling Sougo to run, unless he wants to die there. Sougo rolls to his feet, and stumbles away down the tunnel. When Uhr unpauses time, we see that Geiz and Tsukuyomi definitely still know about the Time Jackers, although not Uhr specifically, with her aiming the phone-blaster at him, and him just skipping off and presumably disappearing once he gets out of their line of sight.
He can’t let them kill Zi-O now.
-
Here on a roof – a decidedly shabbier roof than usual – we find out that the three Time Jackers are still around… and that they, at least, know who Sougo is. Know that he has an incredible power, and that going after him with brute force won’t work. So, Swartz is going to leave the new overlord to Hora, for now.
And here’s something interesting. I’ve always thought that Swartz was clearly their superior. But.
Hora thought their positions were equal. Swartz smirks as she storms off, followed shortly by Uhr leaving in the other direction.
And yet again, we have evidence for Swartz having a different plan than everyone else.
Hat!Woz called him ‘Sir Swartz’, and was acting largely according to a plan they shared.
The previews for Over Quartzer imply that Scarf!Woz’s outfit is a uniform for the group trying to stop Sougo from ever having the chance to obtain the Drive watch.
And they all have those grommets scattered all over their wardrobes.
Different sides of the same group? Different departments, where the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing?
Interesting.
-
Back to the former shop…
The more things change, huh?
Junichiro is still a nice guy, offering to make something for Geiz and Tsukuyomi to eat.
Tsukuyomi has her doubts about Sougo being the overlord, since he did help defeat the Another Riders.
But Geiz has a point, too. An overlord probably wouldn’t hesitate to take out his minions to fool people. (You know. Like might be going on with Woz.) The Time Jackers are still the enemy, in some way, and Uhr helped him. And, most damning of all, he transformed into Zi-O.
Geiz vows… he’s going to take him down.
-
Sougo, in pain, is by a riverside. It’s… it’s really depressing to see the abandoned bicycles just laying there. And Woz, at least, still seems ot remember him.
…or, maybe not. He’s acting incredibly restrained, not even really looking at Sougo, and hasn’t… actually… indicated directly that he knows who Sougo is. But he has seen the statue, and knows it’s of Hiryuu.
He saw it because Hora took him there.
…Wait. Sougo. SOUGO DO YOU NOT KNOW HORA’S NAME?!
Okay, just gonna put the realization that our main trio might not even know the time jackers names aside for now, because we’ve got bigger issues.
Namely, that Sougo’s future as Oma Zi-O has disappeared from the book. (Dark Toei, give us the forbidden book backstory.)
Namely, that Woz has decided to serve a new Overlord.
Namely, said overlord is Kakogawa Hiryuu.
That he wants to pay back the humiliation of being told to live in the present, instead of the past, of ‘not being chosen’.
And, since we’re having a dark mirror of what Sougo could have been, if he’d grown up bitter…
Let’s have a dark reprise of one of Sougo’s old catchphrases.
Hiryuu: “So, I’m going to give this a try.”
Hiryuu: I’ll take everything away from you, and then you can try ‘living in the present’.
And now…
He’s not Another Zi-O.
He’s Another Zi-O II.
…Is it just me, or does he have an actual Driver? Because when he holds his watch at his waist, that black copy of the Ziku Driver appears first, and then the rest of his form as an Another Rider.
And that Driver looks an awful lot like a black copy of Oma Zi-O’s, but with a watch attached on the right-hand side.
Sougo is still heavily beaten up, and it looks like he’s struggling a bit to raise his arms enough to insert the watches, even though he’s not using his usual flair. He’s putting them in before he puts his driver on.
Grand Zi-O starts to charge at Another Zi-O II.
-
Geiz and Tsukuyomi are trying to find Zi-O, but not having any luck.
That is, not until Uhr shows up, saying that Zi-O is running amok, and offering to tell them where he is.
With an incredibly smug look on his face.
The right hand doesn’t know what the left one is doing, either.
-
Back at the Zi-O Vs Zi-O fight, Hiryuu just straight up summons copies of Another Agito, Den-O, and Gaim out of thin air.
Agito appears with green smoke and a single light, coming from right about belt-level.
Gaim still has the orange smoke and juice-droplet effect from last time we saw Another Zi-O.
Den-O has lines of light around him that look distinctly like the lines in Actual Den-O’s attacks.
(Where was this attention to detail in the first arc?! They got much better at it pretty quickly, actually, distracting forced-amnesia subplot be damned, but still!)
Sougo summons Den-O and Gaim to take on their respective Another Riders – both of whom have those windows, still – and takes on Another!Another Agito himself. All three Another Riders go down simultaneously.
But. You know. Hiryuu is Zi-O II now.
And Zi-O II can do more than predict the future.
He just reverses the attack, rewinding time for the three Another Riders, and incidentally turning daytime into night. The same rainbow ripple effect from earlier shows up as he does it.
The Another Riders de-spawn Sougo’s summons, and he tries to defeat them with his “Giri Giri Slash” finisher… only for Hiryuu to undo that, and turn it back into daytime.
Sougo is just getting his ass KICKED today!
…and then machine gun fire blocks Hiryuu and his mooks from going further after him.
Shots fired by one Kadoya Tsukasa, still in miliary fatigues, with a magenta button-up underneath and matching bandanna tied around his arm.
TSUKASA, you’re STILL wearing two cameras! At least. At least let the pseudo-polaroid not be brown. Maybe a nice violet color, you know, for Natsumi, or a bright Cyan for Daiki. Even a yellow or some such for Yusuke.
(Yes, I ship them as an OT4. Come at me. I’ll carry my Photo Studio Polycule forever.)
-
So, this speech Tsukasa’s giving… it’s a pep talk. Yes, in his standard, trolling manner, but a pep talk nonetheless. “So, you’re just giving up here? Because it got hard? Because they left you? You were all high-and-mighty, going on about being a King, but here you are, an Overlord. Did you want this because they came to you? Or did they come to you because you wanted this?”
“This world is coming to it’s destruction. The only way you can stop it is to defeat Kakogawa Hiryuu.”
And at one point, Tsukasa lifts the BSOD’ing Sougo up by the collar, and he’s almost entirely limp. Just, being jerked around, almost slumping back down to the ground when he’s pushed against the wall.
Sougo stumbles off at Tsukasa’s challenge. He! Is in no way able to fight at this point! He’s just gotten beaten up three times in less than a day, all of which were very brutal! This boy! Is not okay!
The three Another Riders show up.
Tsukasa: “Defeat them, and then we’ll talk.”
So, Sougo enters Grand Zi-O. Almost reluctantly, it takes him a moment to even pull out his belt, but he still goes into battle.
(I do appreciate that they don’t show the full Grand transformation every time. Unlike certain other anniversary riders. Tsukasa. Fricking. Six episodes having to watch the full transformation into Complete. UGH. That was painful. If it were a better form, or a better sequence, I wouldn’t have been as made. But Complete is ugly, and the transformation cutscene for it is just. Bad.)
Sougo summons Den-O and Gaim’s weapons to take out the respective copies, and that leaves Agito. Who, you know. Doesn’t always have a weapon – his and Kuuga’s are form-based, unlike the more recent riders.
SO INSTEAD!
Sougo pulls out a translucent COPY of Agito, and sort of. Just. Merges with it to do Agito’s Rider Kick.
THAT’S REALLY CLEVER!
Tsukasa seems at least a little impressed. But here comes Geiz, going straight into Revive Typhoon, saying that he’s going to take Zi-O down to save the world.
And while Geiz is attacking at normal speed, so Sougo could have dodged…
But he doesn’t.
He just takes the hit.
We close out to the end screen, with the Another Den-O and Another Agito watches in the back… and once again, the Zi-O watch, glitching and being replaced by the Another Zi-O watch.
-
In the preview…
Zi-O II, Geize Revive Fury, and DECADE fighting Another Zi-O II.
Sougo: “There’s no point in fighting Geiz.”
A bunch of fight scenes, with Swartz saying that someone will help him, and Hiryuu sitting on a throne.
Daiki’s coming back! And still going on about treasure, because of course he is. (Still mad at Tsukasa about the first Super Hero Taisen movie, I’m guessing)
Tsukasa – still in the army jacket, but seeming to have ditched the helmet – spin kicking Another Build away from Tsukuyomi, and holding an honest to Gaim PISTOL.
AND SON OF A-
SOUNDS LIKE TSUKUYOMI IS, IN FACT, SWARTZ’S SISTER.
Or, at least, that’s what she’s being told, and Uhr – who looks to have just been holding a Faiz Phone X to Tsukuyomi’s head, being just as surprised as her.
THIS IS FIN-
YOU KNOW WHAT NO NONE OF THIS IS FINE.
THIS EPISODE IS SCARY.
-
So, Tsukasa’s ‘pep talk’. That’s the voice of experience that he’s using. That’s a man who has done the whole ‘evil ruler’ thing, and would really rather not see his latest successor go down that route. He’s just. Kind of terrible at saying it.
And of course he’s trying to point out to Sougo that he needs to rely on his allies, if in a roundabout way.
It was only because of Natsumi, Yusuke, and Daiki remembering him that he came back to life, after all.
Memories are a powerful thing in Kamen Rider. We just came off of the Den-O arc, which is largely powered by memories, and to go right into people not remembering that Sougo exists… well. There can’t be a coincidence that it’s also a Tsukasa arc now.
-
Also, as a note, we had some of the first decent shots of Oma Zi-O’s belt in this episode. Previously, we only got to see one side of it, the one not obstructed by his sash. This time… well.

The places that used to be for Ridewatches? Those look an awful lot like the extensions on the Grand watch.

The White Tiger’s “Blades of Light” Invades! Nimbus Subjugation Mission Note: For now, all I have are Lean’s announcements. But those are important.
Twitter Announcement
[Lean] From 8/26 (Wed) 6:00 to 8/30 (Sun) 23:59, a battle with Nimbus will be inevitable. We may be enemies, but if you die here, I'll never be able to forgive myself. I'll go back to my country to stop Nimbus, so try not to die in the meantime.
In-Game Announcement
Tumblr media
Hm?! That's...
Zzzt-- Heeey, can you hear me?! Yeah, the connection seems to be pretty bad.
Ahh, ahhh... Can't hear a thing. It's no good. I'm gonna cut the call.
There we go. Now the connection is good to go.
This area should be uninhabited. So why is there a person here? Is that... a cadet from the Dominion?
I hope they haven't noticed my craft, but odds are I've already been spotted.
What should I do? Thinking logically, I'd have no choice but to eliminate any witnesses.
I'm the one who designed this unit. I'm sure there's something I can do about its surveillance records.
I just hope that the commander over there is the type who'll believe my story.
Lean Hampelmann
Tumblr media
Ahhh-- Test, test...
Looks like the connection has finally been restored. This is Lean Hampelmann. Go ahead.
There should be a Dominion cadet around here, you say? Hmm, I see. I can't see anyone from my current position... Well, I guess I'll go take a look, then.
Huh?! It's not necessary?! More importantly, what's going on? ...Why are you telling me to evacuate?
... ...
Wha-- Are you being serious?! No matter how you look at it, isn't that overkill?! Stop him!!
What? What do you mean, "It's too late"...? Oh. I see now. I've confirmed it on my radar. I'll evacuate immediately. Kay. See ya.
This is bad! This is bad! This is bad! Nimbus is on his way here from Milites! He's the White Tiger's Primus l'Cie. If you try to face him head-on, you won't stand a chance.
I'm going to go back home and see if there's anything I can negotiate. If my old man gives Nimbus a new order, he may give priority to that instead.
Until then, you guys gotta buy me as much time as you can. Don't die.

With the collapse of the world, the curtains come to a close on the first history of Orience.
Akademeia, all of us, and everything else... In an instant, it all vanished. All of it is being recreated while gradually changing shape. Until the day when Agito is born...
Though I don't know what the gods of Orience are thinking... This may be the destiny that was given to us.
Now, the destroyed world is being newly recreated. In this uncertain world, all possibilities exist equally.
It's a mixture of actual memory and someone's hopes for what could be. At times... It may even open a door to a different world.
It seems some time will be needed before the new world can begin... Until then, let us dream within our slumber.
As we pray that there will be hope in the next world...

Show Off Your Aesthetics! Akademeia Autumn Arts Festival
Thank you for playing Final Fantasy Agito. We are pleased to introduce the new event.
[Request]
Oh my, how lucky of me to run into you here.
Don't you think we Agito cadets are going back to fighting a little too much?
I don't think it's good for us to be spending all of our time that way.
So, I have a proposal.
What if all of the cadets make paintings and display them in an exhibition together?
Hey, hey! Isn't that a good idea? I'm sure that a lot of people would want to come see artwork made by Agito cadets.
I'll take care of the venue and things, so you guys should work on the paintings that will be displayed.
Huh?! There aren't enough canvases? Should've known... Then, how about this! If you go to this place, you can get your hands on magic canvases. Do your best to get some. I'll be counting on you!

Thank you for playing Final Fantasy Agito. We will now announce the results of the event.
[Report]
Huhuhu, the exhibition was a smashing success! Incredible! I'm a genius!
At this rate, I should be able to recoup the money I spent on the preparations right away. I knew it was a good idea to include pictures of the artists next to their paintings!
Ah, your paintings also attracted quite a bit of attention. There were some people who wanted to purchase them right on the spot.
Mm-hmm. Money is what's most important to me, though. Art is profound.
Hm?
Huh?! What?! Instructor... Kurasame?! What are you doing here?
A-and Chairman Khalia, too...
Err, um... You see, this is... I-it's volunteer work, of course!
Yes! Yes, indeed! It's nothing out of the ordinary!
Oh dear, who could have done this? Who would spread such awful lies about my work!
I will donate the proceeds to the less fortunate! We are all aspiring to be Agito, after all! So it's obviously the least I could do!
Yes! Now, please take care, you two!

I'm in trouble. It took a lot of money just to rent out this venue.
Hey, hey! Lend me some money~! I'll definitely pay you back later!

[Results]
We are pleased to announce the results of the event, "Show Off Your Aesthetics! Akademeia Autumn Arts Festival".
The number of times each quest has been completed is as follows:
Cinque's Canvas: 148,383 times Queen's Canvas: 25,928 times Deuce's Canvas: 15,597 times Nine's Canvas: 8,045 times
Thank you for your participation.
Please continue to support Final Fantasy Agito.
---
Note: I'm not sure if the results indicate character popularity. None of the announcements say what the rewards for the event were. Nor did they explain how the event was to be played. Based on some other information I gathered from an Agito gameplay wiki, it sounds like you would need to collect basic Magic Canvases (purple, light blue, orange, and blue) from quests of various difficulties. Then you would combine them with other materials to create each character’s canvas and receive a special reward. Since Nine’s Canvas was completed the least, that might mean that his blue canvases came from the hardest quest.
Each canvas quest came with a little note from the characters:
Cinque: You paint, too? Hmmm. Maybe Cinquey will paint with you. Hey, hey! If you feel like it, you should bring me lots of “Purple Canvases”! Paint a lot and you’ll get a prize!
Queen: A beautiful painting enriches the senses. May I paint on the “Light Blue Canvas” with you?
Deuce: Isn’t it wonderful that we can help those in need by making paintings? Let’s paint our dreams on the “Orange Magic Canvas”!
Nine: Hey, you. Do you have a “Blue Magic Canvas”? Let’s show everybody our passion!
The rewards were as follows:
Cinque’s Canvas: Coeurl? (The question mark is part of the name.) Queen’s Canvas: Splendid Cube Deuce’s Canvas: Last Illusion Nine’s Canvas: Our Idea of Agito
The names are very puzzling, but I think they might’ve been decorations for your dorm room.

Support Gacha lines Note: Each of the cadets who you could bond with also had a special item called a “support”, which would let you summon them in battle to support you. When receiving one or pulling one from the gacha, the cadets each had a line they would say.

Missive of Challenge From the Commandant Dainsleif Subjugation Mission Note: It seems like there must have been a different story behind the Dainsleif mission each time it appeared. This title more than likely only applies to one of its appearances. (The rest may not have even had proper titles.) The announcement from Lean seems like it came from that awkward period of time right before the game ended.
2014 Twitter Announcement 1
[Kurasame] I will now make an announcement to all Agito cadets. Moments ago (6/14 Sat, 12:00 thru 6/15 Sun, 23:59), the mission to subdue the Dainsleif began. The enemy manipulates magic attacks of the ice element, and their magic defense is high. Ensure that your preparations are flawless and make a sound counterattack. May the Crystal guide you all.
2014 Twitter Announcement 2
[Miyu] From 11/1 (Sat) 12:00 thru 11/3 (Mon) 23:59, a mission to subdue the Dainsleif will commence. A battle against an MA unit controlled by the White Tiger l'Cie will surely lead to our growth. Without growth of the soul, the path of Agito will remain closed.
2015 Twitter Announcement
[Commandant] From 8/5 (Wed) 6:00 thru 8/9 (Sun) 23:59, we will commense subjugation maneuvers against the Dainsleif. Truancy will not be tolerated. Anyone who raises a fuss in this type of heat couldn't possibly become Agito, the savior of the world.
In-Game Announcement
Tumblr media
Yo, cadets. It's the Militesi ambassador, Lean Hampelmann.
The White Tiger and Vermilion Bird have had their quarrels in the past, but things aren't like that anymore.
From now on, let's all get along with each other!
...So, with that out of the way, there's a favor I need to ask right away...
Could you do something about the Dáinsleif's pilot, l'Cie Qun'mi, who's targeting my life?
I kinda did something that earned me a grudge, and now she's pursuing me all the way to Rubrum with a seriously sinister look in her eyes.
I'll reward you for your effort, so use your strength to geeently drive her off for me.
I'm countin' on you!
Militesi Special Ambassador, Lean Hampelmann
Battle
Tumblr media
Commandant: I'm going to take it upon myself to retrain you lazy lot. You'd best be grateful. Jack: Wow. A gift nobody wanted. Why's he suddenly getting so motivated?! Deuce: I was going to take a trip this weekend, but... It can’t be helped. I'll just forget about it. Seven: Oh... In that case, let's take care of this quickly. If we force the enemy back now, we won't have to worry about them later.

The Irregular at Magic High School (Collab) Note: There was a collab between Final Fantasy Agito and The Irregular at Magic High School LOST ZERO. These are the conversations from the bulletins. I watched Mahouka just so I could understand what they were talking about. Thank you to @kousuisetsu for the screenshots that made this translation possible.
Prologue
Kurasame: As you may have already heard, we are pleased to welcome a pair of temporary exchange students from First High School in association with the National Magic University. Machina: International students?! We have a program like that? Kurasame: It is rare, but it isn’t unheard of. It’ll only be for a short period of two weeks, but I hope you'll get along.
Episode 1
Miyuki: It's nice to meet you, everyone. I am Miyuki Shiba. I'm from First High School, affiliated with the National Magic University. Tatsuya: I'm Tatsuya Shiba. A pleasure. It won't be easy for you to tell us apart if you refer to us by our last name, so "Tatsuya" is fine. Miyuki: Please, refer to me as "Miyuki" as well. Miyu: I am the cadet representative, Miyu Kagirohi. I welcome you both. Ace: I'm Ace. Nice to meet you, Miyuki, Tatsuya. Deuce: I'm Deuce. I'm pleased to meet you. Trey: I'm Trey. We may not have much time together, but I hope we can get along. Tatsuya: (Ace like "A", Deuce like "2", and Trey like "3"... I don't know if they're necessarily meant to be numbered, though.) Tatsuya: You all seem to have numbers in your names. Cinque: Eh? Numbers? Ace: Now that you mention it, you're right. Cinque, even your name means "five." Cinque: Hmmm? I seeee. Miyu: In Orience, names are often derived from numbers. However, it is unusual to see so many assembled in such an orderly fashion. Tatsuya: (So, it's a coincidence. Perhaps I'm just being nosy...)
Episode 2
Miyu: I've heard that the magic you use doesn't require the power of a Crystal. Would you kindly teach me about it? Tatsuya: If you don't mind the layman's interpretation. Miyu: Of course. That will do. Tatsuya: In our world, all phenomena is believed to be recorded in individual information, which we refer to as "eidos." The magic we use modifies the phenomena by altering the definition of its eidos. Nine: Modify? Phenomena? Tatsuya: For example, if you wanted to move a dolly with magic, that would first require you to cast a spell to accelerate the object, then a spell of movement, followed by a spell to decelerate the object, and lastly, a spell to stop it at its destination. Four magic spells become one. Miyuki, please demonstrate. Miyuki: Yes, big brother. Jack: Uwahhh, that sounds like a pain. Miyuki: It's not as difficult as you think. Ace: Our magic is granted to us by the Vermilion Bird Crystal in order to fulfill our grand role. The power that was passed down to individuals is managed and categorized by the Sorcery Division. Miyuki: The Vermilion Bird Crystal, you say...? Miyu: Indeed. All of our magic is thanks to the power of the Vermilion Bird Crystal. Each spell possesses an attribute such as fire, ice, lightning, wind, holy, and dark. Miyuki: Your method of classifying magic by elements is different from ours, I see. Miyu: For instance, let's see... This is "fire" magic. Tatsuya: ?! Miyuki: Big brother, what's wrong? Tatsuya: I thought I saw something odd... Rather, I should say that I didn't really see anything. Miyuki: Do you think that Rubrum's magic isn't utilizing psions? Tatsuya: I'm unsure. Nonetheless, I find it intriguing. Tatsuya: (Does this mean that the Crystal is even handling the output of magic formulas?) Tatsuya: If you wouldn't mind, could I take a look at the Vermilion Bird Crystal? Miyu: My apologies, but the Crystal is kept in strict security. Even we aren't allowed near it. Tatsuya: Hm, I understand... Pardon me for asking.
Episode 3
King: The handgun you carry... It isn't really a handgun, is it? Tatsuya: This is a Casting Assistant Device (CAD). As its name suggests, it's a device which assists in the invocation of magic. Despite its form, it isn't a weapon. Eight: Oh, so it's something like Cater's magic guns? Cater: Really? Lemme see that for a sec! Tatsuya: I don't mind, but precise adjustments must be made to the CAD depending on the user and its means of use. It's necessary. Using another person's CAD would be... inadvisable. Cater: Firaga! Flare! Holy! Whoa, this feels great! Miyuki: Cater, could it be that your magical computing characteristics are similar to my brother's? Tatsuya: No. To begin with, that CAD doesn't include the activation sequence for Rubrum's magic. Miyuki: That's true, now that you mention it. Tatsuya: Is it because psions have little effect on Rubrum's magic? It's very intriguing, but it seems it may be impossible for me to look into it. Miyuki: If you're interested in it, then there's nothing beyond your knowledge, big brother. Tatsuya: Don't speak the impossible. This exchange program is only for two weeks. Cater: I think I've taken a liking to this thing. Hey, Tatsuya, feel like trading it for my magic gun? Tatsuya: ... Tatsuya: If it's an unadjusted FLT monitor device, then I don't mind. However, instead of a gun, I would rather receive something I could give to my sister as a present. Miyuki: Big brother? Aren't you interested in the Dominion's magic? Tatsuya: It is a fine opportunity for abroad learning. But making more memories with you would make me happier than obtaining more formal knowledge. Miyuki: No way... Making memories with me is really more important to you, big brother? Tatsuya: (I think she may be interpreting that in her own way...)
Episode 4
Miyuki: Regretfully, the exchange program ends today. Tatsuya: That it does. Miyuki: These two weeks went by in a flash, but we must thank you for your hospitality. Miyu: Likewise, we must thank you as well. We learned a lot from you. Ace: The time really flew by... Queen: I feel a bit sad. Tatsuya, Miyuki, take care. Cater: W-wait! Wait a minute! Miyuki: Cater? Cater: Everyone worked together and made uniforms for you.
Natsubi: 56449 pairs Tsubomi: 33019 pairs Zero: 29213 pairs Type-839 Military Uniform: 33441 pairs
Seven: With this many, you'd even have enough for your friends, wouldn't you? Tatsuya: We could distribute them to not only each student, but to every student from First to Ninth High School. Sice: Yeah... We kinda went overboard, didn't we? Miyuki: Yes. It is a bit much. But it's appreciated.
Tumblr media
[Miyuki] Kuro Neko to Shiro Neko-san, Mio-san, Elena-san, 5351-san,
And to everyone else, as well, Thank you very much. With your help, I was able to make some wonderful memories with my big brother.
- Miyuki Shiba
Tumblr media
Cinque: Hey, you've still got some time, right? How 'bout you try on your new clothes?
Miyuki: Big brother... How do I look? Tatsuya: Yes, it suits you well. The design is different from what you normally wear, so you look like a different person. It gives you a new type of charm. It's as though you aren't my sister. Miyuki: It suits you, too, big brother. You look like the hero of an adventure story who fights against everyone and everything in the world for the one he loves. Tatsuya: (Can you call that type of guy a hero?) Tatsuya: It's almost time. Miyuki: Though parting is such sweet sorrow, it looks like this is farewell. Miyu: Let's meet again. Until then, goodbye.
Tumblr media
Note: Additionally, for completing the event, you could receive a Trident - Silver Horn CAD like Tatsuya’s.

More fun MoM facts!
There are many instances of the MoM using tildes in his speech, particularly when he's joking/teasing. I'm disappointed that the localization did nothing to preserve them, since I feel like their frequent use was a hint to his identity. And it's cute.
Whether or not you believe that he has any connection to Jack from Agito XIII - although you should, because he does - it's something they have in common.
From the Final Fantasy Type-0 World Preview book:
The inflection he places on the words at the ends of his sentences with a tilde (~) demonstrates his “nonchalance.” He has incredible mental strength, shown in the way he maintains the same attitude no matter what type of opponent he faces.
They thought this information was important enough to add to the page about the character. It's his thing.
I've translated scenes from KHUX and FF Agito for comparison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even more fun facts!
Unless MoM's having a serious moment, he talks like an airheaded teenager, often ending sentences with the addition of し. Demyx does this a lot. It's not an odd thing to do unless it's a habit. There's nothing like this in English, but I guess the closest comparison I can think of would be like when someone has the habit of ending their sentences with the inflection of a question when it isn't necessary. (Like this? You know how it sounds when someone does this?? all the time??)
I found a blog where someone gave their own example:
This word is somewhat informal, and used less (if at all) in polite Japanese (敬語). Also, it doesn’t have a very intellectual image to it. For example, there is a Japanese TV celebrity by the name of Rola (ローラ) who frequently speaks with this expression and draws out the し sound. Although I think it is all an act, her character is very ditzy and seems like she has a two-digit IQ. So when you are using し, make sure to not overly draw out that sound, unless you're a young girl and want to project that sort of image. (:
What I'm saying is, the localization needs to make MoM sound younger and dumber.
Does Jack do this? Sometimes. It would make sense for him to talk like this, but he doesn't do it often. This one is a MoM & Demyx exclusive.

“CLOUD message″ (2008) translations Final Fantasy Agito XIII
p.57
Agito
This gripping tale follows the actions of a group of young soldiers during a world-encompassing war.
Among the three different Final Fantasy titles born from the singular mythology of the Fabula Nova Crystallis, FF Agito XIII stands out as the first Final Fantasy to be supported on a handheld game console. However, its hidden potential was much greater than imagined, and the footage that was shown at DKΣ3713 and Tokyo Game Show 2008 showed us some shocking developments. What is the "truth" there?
p.58
The Small Giant, Agito
When I saw the video at the DKΣ3713 event with its solemn, documentary-style narration and realistic war-like visuals, I honestly didn't know what game I was looking at. The content was so shocking that it overturned the game's image from the ground up. What had until now seemed like a relatively lighthearted RPG featuring keywords such as "magic academy", "school life", and "Crystal" suddenly did an about face. The video was presented as a "war chronicle" with a profound sense of depth, with words like "border invasion" and "war" being thrown around. So, was this video, which was release at the same time as the announcement of the PSP version of the game, intended to change the direction of FF Agito XIII? The answer is no. To support this, I will quote Nomura's statement.
"FF Agito XIII has a historical timeline which also mentions great wars of the ancient past, and when you take all of that into account, it has quite a considerable volume, so the content and image will change depending on where you place your focus."
Tumblr media
In other words, it will be a game with a completely different impression depending on which era and location is being spotlighted in the expansive timeline. The juxtaposition of "kanji cities" and "English cities" in the video seems to symbolize that reality and fantasy do not contradict each other in this world where school life and dark topics coexist without feeling out of place...
If Nomura's comment about "a world so vast that you can't see how far it can expand" is the essence of FF Agito XIII, then what we've seen of FF Agito XIII so far is just the tip of the iceberg.
p. 59
The Meaning of a FF That Everyone Can Play Easily
"This is not one chapter of a story. It is a history written by each person’s hand. It is destiny."
This line comes from the narration in the video. There are no words that could more succinctly express that FF Agito XIII is a game that everyone is meant to play together. In FF Agito XIII, there is no default protagonist nor predetermined story. This part is fundamentally different from FFXIII and FF Versus XIII. The main character is the player themselves, their friends are the other players who they connect with online, and each adventure you have with those friends is the story of FF Agito XIII.
When you think of a Final Fantasy that everyone can play together, FFXI comes to mind. However, because FFXI is a game for PC and home consoles, it can't be easily played everywhere. As the online space rapidly evolves, it could be considered inevitable that FF Agito XIII would choose PSP and mobile phones when looking for the best environment for everyone to play together.
Tumblr media
Perhaps the performance of mobile phones will dramatically improve for playing games in the future. In addition to the established ad-hoc battles on the PSP, a service will be launched where players can form impromptu parties with distant players via the PS3. It seems as though everything is going according to plan. If that isn't the case, then I can only assume that something is being brought closer...
With these features, FF Agito XIII will be "a Final Fantasy that can easily be played by everyone," something which has been rarely seen in the series. In addition, this Final Fantasy will be supported by a grand world and setting. The future shown by this synergy... Will be the style of a new Final Fantasy.
p.58-59
Tumblr media
What is FF Agito XIII to you?
"This is the first Final Fantasy I'll be working on from scratch. Since I have this opportunity, I'd like to do what I want as much as possible and play a big role in the FFXIII series." Hajime Tabata, Director
"A grand world and setting that can be expanded forever, to the point where its limits cannot be seen." Tetsuya Nomura, Creative Producer
"A Final Fantasy that aims to go beyond expectations." Takatsugu Nakazawa, Planning Director
"Challenging the limits of the PSP." Yusuke Naora, Art Director
In one word, how would you describe FF Agito XIII?
"A documentary-style war chronicle Final Fantasy that everyone can play together." Hajime Tabata, Director
"Unexpected ambush." Tetsuya Nomura, Creative Producer
"A Final Fantasy that can be played anytime, anywhere, any way." Takatsugu Nakazawa, Planning Director
"A cutting edge Final Fantasy that everyone can play." Yusuke Naora, Art Director
What makes FF Agito XIII different from other games?
"I think it's the fact that this is where numbered titles will be introduced to handheld consoles. Everyone on the project is eagerly working hard to deliver a serious Final Fantasy to the PSP." Hajime Tabata, Director
"The great potential for the game to change freely in the future." Tetsuya Nomura, Creative Producer
"There are too many differences to write!" Takatsugu Nakazawa, Planning Director
"I think that the mismatch between tradition and stimuli will create a new taste." Yusuke Naora, Art Director

hidden battle in the magic institute
Unhatched Elite Warriors The Guidance Myth
The mountains are green, the sky is blue. Your heart is rosy as you walk along the path.
Today is your first day as a student at the Akademeia peristylium. As you gaze at the gates of the magic academy shining brilliantly in the distance, your heart swells with thoughts of the events in your future. When you pass through those gates, you will meet new friends and discover new knowledge.
What sort of people are there? I don't want to be friends with anyone unpleasant. I wonder if it's really that hard to use powerful magic?
Such innocent thoughts are mixed in with the harsh questions you ask yourself.
How strong can I become? Can I become Agito?
The answers to all of the thoughts and questions dwelling in your heart exist beyond the gate. Akademeia's gate is also the gateway to infinite possibilities for you. Meeting good friends will nurture your heart, and discovering good knowledge will improve your skills.
No matter how difficult the ordeals ahead of you may be, why should you hesitate at these big gates!
You continue down the path, gazing at the towering school building with many thoughts inside of you, dreaming of the day when you become the legendary warrior known as Agito.
The Akademeia peristylium is the setting of FF Agito. The protagonist is a student who makes an oath with the Crystal which is enshrined within the academy. While living together with other students, they will study various things and receive training to accomplish their goals.
In a sense, school life is a series of discoveries. The protagonist grows as they learn not only what the instructors teach them, but what their friends are good at, the personalities hidden beneath their masks, and the power hidden within themselves.
What are friends? What is nature? What is magic? What is war?
The day will surely come when you will be able to answer the many questions you had in mind when you entered the academy.
On the other hand, your school life will be filled with many mysteries. What exactly is Agito, the legendary warrior? And who has their sights set on the academy's Crystal? Everything will become clear when the protagonist completes their studies at Akademeia and graduates. And then, that's when the protagonist's true fight will begin.
However, you mustn't forget. No matter how painful it is, no matter how hard it is to find your way, you are never alone. When you look back, the friends with whom you shared joys and sorrows will be there, along with the instructors who will guide you toward the right path.
Now is the time to pass through the gates with your head held high! Through Akademeia's gates! The entrance to a new mythical world!
p.78-79
Tumblr media
The True Colors of Akademeia to Which Youth is Entrusted
The academy that the protagonist enrolls at is officially known as "Akademeia, the Peristylium of Suzaku", located in a region called Rubrum. The students who enroll are sorted into 13 classes and are subject to strict discipline. They spend their days undergoing intense training. Knowing that the peristylium is a place for elite warriors, it is easy to imagine what sort of training they will receive.
In the process, friends may lose their lives. Some may not be able to endure the harsh training, and some may even run away. There will be scenes that leave you feeling empty, and scenes that will make you want to look away. However, all of these things are a part of life at the peristylium, and the protagonist and their friends must overcome it.
As you may know, "Suzaku" is the name of the Vermilion Bird, one of the four Chinese celestial beasts who rule over the cardinal directions. In that case, it's natural to assume that there are rivaling entities named after the Azure Dragon, White Tiger, and Black Tortoise. If each academy possesses their own Crystal, a push and pull might occur over them.
What does the aspirational name of "Agito" mean?
After enrolling, the goal of the protagonist is to become the legendary warrior called "Agito." That name, which is also used in the title, comes from a Latin word meaning "to put into motion." What kind of skills they use, what type of weapon they carry, how to become Agito... To new students, Agito is a very vague thing. However, as they spend time with many friends and teachers, it will be revealed little by little and gradually take shape.
As it inches closer to realization, Agito will become the goal and emotional support for not only the main character, but all of the other students as well.
It is said that one must overcome every hardship in order to become Agito. In that case, that movement of the heart would be the first step towards becoming Agito, the one who "puts things in motion." However, even if the protagonist overcomes the intense training, successfully graduates, and becomes Agito, that is not the final goal. Why are we fighting, and what is considered victory? And what will we learn in that battle?
The path that begins with enrollment at Akademeia is long and steep.
p.80-81
FF Mobile Online
Tumblr media
Unlike the other two works, "FF Agito XIII" will be delivered straight to your hands through your cellphone. "FF Agito XIII" will be the first to introduce a new system: online party play for multiple users.
Players will start the game by choosing the protagonist from the 12 characters with weapons in the illustration. You can form a party with other people who have the game.
It's easy to imagine the fun and surprises that you will find online as you step into this myth for the new century. The characters who weren't chosen by the player will be involved in the story as NPCs, guiding the protagonist to an unknown world.
The advantage to mobile gaming is the ability to pick up the game and play it anywhere, at any time. In other words, the entrance to "the new story of the Crystals" is located right in your pocket.
EXPECTATION: A XIII Title That Begins in the Palm of Your Hand, FINAL FANTASY Agito XIII
1.
This FFXIII title will be played on mobile phones. Although spin-offs and other works have been ported to mobile, this will be the first official title to be released on mobile. As such, you can expect it to be a fresh Final Fantasy with possibilities previously unseen in the series. It's a Final Fantasy that's easy to enjoy anywhere, anytime. Through the network, it's also infinitely expandable. The appeal of being able to play with your friends as well as people you've never met... The appeal of a worldview with a magnificent scope via the distribution format... The appeal of network games that take advantage of "communication", which still have a high bar for entry, will be made accessible to many people with the use of cellphones, the easiest and most familiar platform.
The specs of mobile phones are also of interest, as they continue to evolve at a rate approaching that of handheld devices like the DS and even the PSP. Based on that evolution, "FF Agito XIII" is being produced with specs that look ahead to the future. This is the latest title in the series, following the Final Fantasy tradition of being on the cutting edge of the industry.
Tumblr media
2.
As this title is being designed for the next generation of phones, its depth is still unmeasurable. The most appealing feature of the game is the fact that you can fight with parties that you form with other players, all from your phone. Players will be able to spend their time together as students of Akademeia, based on the magnificent ideas of the Final Fantasy series. That alone is cause for excitement.
The images that have been released show that the surrounding area is in a terrible state of ruin, so it will be interesting to find out how it relates to the story. Although it seems like the game won't be delivered regularly, the volume of the story is expected to be substantial. There will be many sub-events which can be voluntarily participated in and enjoyed for a long time. We're looking forward to the elements which will only be possible with next-gen mobile phones.
3.
People grow with more than lessons and training. During school, which everyone experiences at least once in their lives, the time after school when you've been released from your classes is important. When they're freed from the prison known as "school" and from the jailers known as "teachers", students learn a lot through activities with like-minded friends or through impulsive pranks. Without a doubt, "communication" is one of the most important elements of FF Agito XIII. "After school adventures" with allies you've never met can be fun and exciting, but they can also sometimes produce disappointments that you would have never felt when playing alone. However, there is a real story of player development that goes beyond the game character's development. Isn't that the true beauty of FF Agito XIII?

What's the most obscure FNC lore nugget you know?
Probably anything relating to Lean Joker. All of his character development happened in one of the out-of-service, Japanese-only mobile games, so my whole Lean tag is full of information that would've been considered lost. The FF wiki doesn't even mention basic facts about him like the fact that he was the creator of the Ultima Bomb or the fact that he designed the Magitek Armor and pilots one of the units himself. It doesn't even mention that he's Cid Aulstyne's adoptive son, which seems like a really important detail to me! I don't feel inspired to personally edit the wiki, so I'm just hoping that somebody else will eventually read my translation of FF Agito and edit the characters' pages for me.
It's hard to think of any general FNC facts... My brain is 99% Type-0. lol

Lean: I’ll be in your care for a while. Pleased to meet’cha, cadet!
I don’t think I ever shared this screenshot. It’s the only screenshot I have of what looks like a scene from the airship docks, presumably right after Lean arrived at Akademeia as Milites’s peace ambassador in one of the later cycles.
I’m unsure if this was actually in the game or not, seeing as how Lean also introduces himself in another scene that takes place inside Akademeia. If anyone knows or has more from this scene, please let me know!

Final Fantasy Agito: Second Cycle, Final Chapter (Ace ver.) Note: Even though Ace was the Judge in this cycle, it was still possible to receive an ending with him!
Ace: ...Look, Player, the world is disappearing... along with this life of mine... Ace: ...Thank you, Player. Thank you for stopping me... Ace: And, I'm sorry for making you do something so horrible. It must have been hard. Ace: Still, thanks to your actions, I didn't destroy the world - this world where I met you... Ace: ...Hey, Player? Since this is the end, I'll just go ahead and say it... Ace: I'm so glad... that I met you in this world... Ace: ...Do you remember, Player? This isn't the first time we've witnessed this scene together... Ace: Even in the previous world, you and I... We faced the end of the world together... Ace: At last, I finally remembered... the important memories I had forgotten for so long... Ace, serious: ...Even if the world disappears, even if my memories disappear, the feelings etched into my soul will still remain. Ace: That's why, no matter how many times I'm reborn... I'll always come back to you...! Ace, smiling: This is goodbye for now, Player... Til we meet again, in the next world... Ace, turning to crystal: Let's seize the future we were meant to walk in...!

Seven Bonding Event A Heartfelt Response (unofficial title)
[Setting: Ready Room]
Seven: Player, do you have a moment? There's something I'd like your help with. Seven: Sice should be back soon, and then-- Sice: Oi, Seven. I got what you asked for. Seven: Thank you. Sorry to keep you busy. Sice: I don't mind, but... Perfume, a handkerchief, stationery... How will this stuff be useful in battle? Seven: Hm? I'm not going to use these things in battle. I'm going to give return gifts to everyone. Sice: Wha?! You're going to write a response for every gift you received this time?! Seven: Of course. Those girls put a lot of thought into the gifts they got for me. Seven: I need to at least do this much in return. Sice: Jeez. Shit like this is the reason why your number of fans keeps increasing. Won't it get to be too much for you to shoulder someday? Seven: That's something I'll think about when the time comes. In any case, this is for you, Sice. Seven: It's to thank you for doing the shopping. I hope you like it. Sice: ...You seriously never learn, do you? Well, I'll accept this as my reward. See you.
Seven: Now, Player. What I needed your help with is packing the gifts. Is that okay? Seven: ...Thank you, Player. Since these are for girls, I want them to be as cute as possible. Seven: Let's see... It wouldn't be right to make you do everything. 100 of them should be more than enough. Seven: I'm sorry for needing your help. I'll be sure to thank you later.
