love modern aus, organised crime, post-apocalypse, aus that spin around inheritance/succession, tricky family dynamics & small town dramas; as a rule don’t really like high school aus (ironic as I love writing for our euphoria babies, as you know, lol) or sports-verse things, they just aren’t really my jam

🍐 is there anything in canon that you absolutely hate and love to fix in fics?

in the world of asoiaf I hate how much Jon’s teenagery broodiness is capitalised & exaggerated; like often in fic he’s just dressed repeatedly in the same sulky, sullen, slightly stupid clothes & I hate that because yeah he’s a broody, salty, moody mess sometimes in-canon but he’s also incredibly clever & astute with this edge of violence to him that’s very fun to draw out more in fic; generally, tho, I just like to “fix” things how we all like to: by putting characters together & letting them exist in the same space when maybe canon and/or the universe never gave them the proper chance to—looking at you fexi, looking at you :(

I’ve been desperately trying to find a certain fexi fic and I didn’t know if you happen to know what the fic is called and who wrote it. In it Fezco was a werewolf and Lexi was from a family of werewolf hunters. Fezco invites Lexi over and she tries to kill him but doesn’t and they find out their souls mates. Anyone else know? miniature_sophie did something werewolf related with the Buffy AU, but that's the only one that rings a bell in that genre. Sorry can't be more of a help!

Fez was driving back from a pick-up when he felt his cell phone buzz in his pocket. Lexi had gone to some drama kid's party with Rue and some of her friends. He was planning to chill back at home with Ash, waiting for her to text him and complain about how bored she was.

They had been seeing each other after the party on New Year's Eve. They'd been texting each other frequently and she'd come by his store and house more than often. No one really knew about their relationship and they both never really cared what anyone would think if they did find out. Just as long as the people he dealt with kept far away from her, he was good. With Lexi, he never had to keep his guard up. He truthfully speak his mind and she'd listen, vice versa. The way she'd smile shyly at him when he'd compliment her, the taste of her lips, the curves of her body when she'd press up against him. He never related to what addicts felt like but it was like he couldn't get enough of her. One taste of Lexi and he'd been hooked.

Sliding his phone out of his pocket to check who texted him. He felt his blood rushing as he swiftly pulled over to read the rest of the messages.

Ash had quickly sensed something was off by the change in Fez' calm demeanor and almost frantic look in his eyes and he watched him call someone on his phone.

"Yo what's wrong?"

"It's Lexi."

Fez rarely got angry.

It was an emotion he hated feeling. It made him do things he didn't want to do and say things he had no control over.

The thought of someone pulling shit on Lexi and potentially doing something to her made him see red. She was his family. He'd die to protect anyone who was family. She was his girl.

His mind was running at a mile a minute, thinking of all the scenarios he could potentially walk into.

Pulling up to the large house, Fez slammed open his car door and tossed his keys to Ash.

"Be ready."

Ash quickly stepped out of the passenger seat and into the driver's side, keys in the ignition, waiting. He'd never admit it but a small part of him was nervous and hoping that Lexi was ok.

Walking through the house, Fez scanned his eyes through the crowd of drunk and high teenagers. All he wanted to see was Lexi and know she was ok.

"Just tell me what you slipped her, get the fuck away from us and stop harassing her!"

The sound of Rue's voice caught his attention. He looked towards the dining room to see Rue fighting off a lanky tall teenage boy leaning far too close to Lexi who was sitting at the table, barely coherent and noticing the commotion above her.

Fez walked with long strides towards his girl. The primal need to protect what was his coming over him. He watched as Rue stared at him with wide eyes, scared of the look on his face. Something she had never seen and was used to. The closer he got the closer he realized that he was walking on a thin line between keeping his cool and blind rage.

"Yo Rue, who's this?"

"This is the fucker that gave Lexi her drink!" Rue exclaimed as she pushed the guy further back.

Fez took a step closer, stepping up to the guy face to face, putting space between the motherfucker and Lexi.

"Word? What the fuck did you slip in there?" Fez asked calmly teetering back and forth between his thin line.

"Fuck off, dude. I'm just trying to get some pussy."

Line crossed.

Blind rage came over Fez as he smirked at the guy one last time, grabbed his drunken body, and slammed his fist into his face multiple times.

He was going to murder this guy and he didn't give two fucks.

"....Feezzzz? Issthatyouu?"

Hearing her voice through the screams coming from the crowd. It was like he snapped back into his body as he stopped and looked back at his girl, more awake, locking her brown eyes with his blue.

Standing up and walking away from the bloodied body on the ground, he stalked back to Lexi and gently lifted her chin up with his bloodied and bruised knuckles.

"Baby, you good?"

Giving him a small smile, the smile that he loved, she nodded slowly and giggled at him assuringly.

Slowly lifting her up, he helped her walk slowly out of the house, kissing her forehead every so often, with a speechless Rue shockingly following in tow, to his car with Ash.

This was his family and he'd do anything to protect his family.

Yk what would have worked:

If instead of the whole raid , Ash got rounded up by CPS. Could be deal gone wrong , ash and fez could still get hurt- just not a raid ,Lauries revenge or fuck even *redacted* calling the cops again.

Fez would have to grapple w going legit or staying seedy + maybe even a child endangerment charge - Ash would be alive and can show the troubles of being a ward of the state vs his family w fez - could even play Into the suspense of the ‘missing Jacob’s’

EDIT: Ya know show a bit of social commentary from the perspective of teens in shitty situations like they did first season (!!)

Give them both an identity outside of illegal shit and doing it without the other , as they both have had for so long.

We also could still have fexi in this AU+ he could still try to push her away as he grapples w his morals (good bad guy) + she could struggle w/supporting him she’s by his side as he tries to grow and evolve without ash — and forgiving himself for what he had to do to survive. And how to heal all that shit.

you get the same result; “get out of drug world safely” trope,fez enduring change, ash gets to open up and show dimension as a character, ash grows and matures, reversal of generations of trauma,found family shit, angst , possibly even motivates rue to be better in the process

EDIT: we could finally get ash’s real name and identity with being from being in the system.

Throwing in some angst of Ash searching for Fez to reconnect when he’s 18.For a brief montage at the end everyone to end on the family farm on some sappy shit.

😅 What's a story or scene you've created that you're a smidge embarrassed exists?

I'm kinda embarrassed about Logical Conclusions, because it exists as that story keeps getting away from me in a way in terms of plot and update schedule!

Not only is it turning out a lot 'cuter' than I ever intended, I keep stumbling into roadblocks in the plot when I want to smooth it out, which is why I struggle with it and the updates are a lot less frequent than I ever intended.

I will finish it, however, because that's like my one goal when it comes to fic writing: finish what I start!

🌞 Do you have a preferred time of day to write?

I like late afternoon and after dinner mostly: I find those hours of the day stretch out in front of me nicely.

In the morning I get too distracted by other to-do's and potential activities, but when the day is winding down I go into writing mode!

💖 What made you start writing?

What made me start writing fanfiction is HOW HAPPY reading fun fanfic has always made me, and when I became obsessed with Fexi, a fairly young and new ship, I really wanted to contribute to that for others.

UGH just saw the new Persuasion trailer and made myself cry thinking about a Persuasion Fexi AU. Has someone done that yet? Where they are together in high school/early college but Lexi is persuaded to give him up by her friends and family because his lifestyle is dangerous. And then they meet again as adults and he’s out of the business and doing really well but she’s single and has never actually moved on? And when they meet again he’s really different because she broke his fucking heart so it really does take him a minute to fall back in love with her— like it’s not as easy as when they were kids. I’m not emotionally strong enough to write it, but someone should.

Since it’s Bridgerton month what about a fexi bridgerton au👀? Fezco with his brother ashtray do not come from a wealthy family (they’re orphans) but they’re rich. No mama wants her daughter be with fezco because he has a bad reputation. We also have the Howards, just a mama with her two girls but they desperately need whether Cassie or Lexi to make a good marriage and save them (economically wise). Cassie had her reputation ruined last season because of a shitty suitor so now it’s up to Lexi to save her family with a wealthy marriage. And she falls in love with Fez! The guy no mama wants as a suitor for her daughter but he is rich! They meet at a dance or something and they become friends. Maybe by the end of it Cassie finds a good man too, someone who loves her and doesn’t care about her past

Everyone is pumped for Bridgerton, guess I have to watch it!!

hi josie just came by to say that I fucking love you can hear it in the silence, teacher/ parent au is one of my favorite tropes and you did amazing with it, you kept us waiting until fexi finally got together, but still gave us so many beautiful moments and angst in between ��💜 the ending was so freaking hot and the epilogue with ash's pov was just heartwarming and a lovely way to end it all (I teared up not gonna lie)

i loved ash interacting with his little sisters, he's such a good big brother, but also this part:

“Morning Ollie,” a sweet kiss is placed on each of their foreheads, and Ash doesn’t bother to move away when Fez comes at him and does the same. 

this is where I actually teared up!!! like fez and ash showing affection to each other is what they deserve and thank you for giving it to them (us).

honestly I just loved the whole story, the way fez and ash start lonely, fez not participating in school events, which makes ash apathetic towards his classmates, but them ending with a big beautiful family, and ash being valedictorian and graduating early!!! you set up their journey so well 😭😭

i really said slow burn with it huh. lol i'm really glad you enjoyed the ride of emotions. honestly writing the epilogue in ash's pov was the only thing that made sense to me, like it felt very full circle to see them years later from his pov. sorry not sorry i made you tear up, i was crying writing them lol.

ash is the best brother fr!! ash and fez deserved a gentle beautiful ending on the show after everything they've been through and since SL won't give it to us i had to step up.

i'm so so glad you enjoyed it <3 i really wanted for the readers to see the way ashfez and was changing throughout the chapters.
