ESC is shaping up to be very sexy this year:

Finnland with a bombshell blond singing about cumming. Malta *something something* cunt. Germany potentially sending Feuerschwanz who mostly sing about alcohol, fairy tales and fucking.

The theme for this year is writing itself.

I want to do a fun little thing this year where every day this month before Eurovision's Grand Final, I'll post a National Final song that didn't make it to the contest this year. Because my goodness, it's been WILD and there were so many songs this year that deserve attention.

Today's song is Knightclub by Feuerschwanz, from Germany! The folks at Germany seem to have been cheered up by achieving 12th place last year and decided to hold a revamped National Final led by entertainer and producer Stefan Raab, who used to be very involved with Eurovision stuff years ago. Emphasis on "years ago". The NF was an entire mess, and frankly it's a miracle they ended up picking a good song out of it. Knightclub was tanked by the jury and didn't get to move onto the televote segment, which is lame and uncool because this song slaps. Medieval metal is a fantastic genre you can't change my mind STEFAN.

God, metal fans can be such joyless cunts.

And I don't get why they become fans of bands who clearly have senses of humour, and then get pissy when the bands continue to have fun.

So Feuerschwanz started as a comedic mediaeval metal band, because they thought that music scene took itself too seriously.

And they've done more serious music, especially since 2020, and they are musically awesome, they aren't a joke but they continue to do hilarious covers, it's part of the fun to have people in armour and warpaint singing pop songs.

They've just released a cover of Gangnam Style, and it's so fun, it's so silly, and the majority of the comments are people loving it or laughing and then you get these curmudgeons who are like lamenting this decision and it's like...this band did a cover of Dragostea Din Tei. They covered Gimme Gimme Gimme.

They have jokes! How are you a fan if you don't like jokes?!!!?!!
