bitching under the cut sorry
last year's bcc vs elite feud was so juicy... so interesting and fun.. i loved every beat of it
now i love the CONCEPT of evps vs team aew and i love the bucks' current gimmick but the execution of the storyline stinks. theyve replaced the only interesting guy on the team b/c of injury with a guy who was injured just a few weeks ago and apparently still isnt 100%. ive actively grown to hate bryan danielson (sorry). i have already bitched enough about ftr on this blog
i just want all the guys i like back already. yuta and mox and hangman. i feel like this whole feud just constantly has me go okay soon these guys will be back and things will be good actually. but its radio silence on hangman and nobody knows what moxs deal is and obviously yuta needs more time off. not hating on the performers btw (please take as much time off as you need forever and always) i just want characters involved here that are actually likeable.............
im also so bored of the majority of the show but i am TOO invested in willow vs mercedes, toni/mariah, and swerve vs christian to stop watching. and i dont wanna skip the bucks' stuff because their gimmick is just so fun i just need ftr gone from my screen already please im begging go feud with the house of black or something
#veraposting#and i have FOMO about the shows/segments im skipping!!! i get on here and go like wtf is everyone talking about

My AEW Revolution 2024 Predictions
I am so excited for this ppv and I have to much energy on myself so, deal with it
Tornado Tag Match Sting's Last Match - Darby Allin & Sting (AEW Tag Team Champions) VS Golf Trainers- oh sorry- AEW EVP'S Matthew & Nicholas Jackson
Let's start with the cherry on the top, I am so ready to cry on this match, even knowing that most likely Sting will appear again on AEW but not wrestling again
But for sure, 100% that the not Young Bucks anymore will win this match - I mean if its Sting's last match will Darby defend both belts alone?? I mean he is capable of it. but come on, one last match of this amazing tag team against the non Young Bucks is the perfect finish for this era
AEW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - Samoa Joe (C) VS Swerve Strickland VS Hangman Adam Page
Everyone is imagining that it will Swerve versus Hangman and Samoa Joe will be like third wheeling or something like that
this one will be pretty intense both men fighting for the gold and Samoa Joe defending it
I really want Swerve to win it but I think Samoa Joe will retain it, I mean it's the first ppv that he defends it
AEW WOMEN'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP - "Timeless" Toni Storm (C) VS Deonna Purrazo
Besides the Zero Hour one with Kris and Willow versus Julia Hart and Skye Blue, this is the only women´s match on the ppv..........come on AEW, your women's division is so freaking powerful and you still don´t know how to properly promoted, and we are on the International Women's month, come on......
I think Deonna Purrazo will win it for sure, but if Toni retains it I am so excited to see how this feud will keep going, because this feud was so well played, I am more than seated for this match
AEW INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - Orange Cassidy (C) VS Roderick Strong
It has to be Orange Cassidy, if it isn´t I will shave my eyebrows
Roderick Strong is being too annoying for Orange it has to be our denim and thumbs up man
AEW CONTINENTAL CROWN CHAMPIONSHIP - Eddie Kingston (C) VS Bryan Danielson
I am a bit uncertain with this one, but I think Eddie will retain it
and what an hell of a match this will be
Will Ospreay VS Konosuke Takeshita
another one that I am have no clue too who might win
but I guess Will Ospreay
TNT CHAMPIONSHIP - (Pro Pokemon Hunter) Christian Cage (C) VS Daniel Garcia
I am so excited for this one
But still for how much I would like to see Daniel with the gold, I am 100% sure that the Patriarchy will mess with this match
But its more than time for Daniel to be a champion (again)
FTR VS Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli
I am also unsure about this one, just to be different
But I think Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli will win it
ALL STAR 8-MAN SCRAMBLE - Dante Martin VS HOOK (FTW Champion) VS Brian Cage VS Magnus VS Chris Jericho VS Powerhouse Hobbs VS Brian Cage VS Wardlow
yes I am pretty HOOK biased but I dont think he will win this one, even tho I am an huge fan of this fighting big dudes agenda
also 2/5 of the Lads fighting each other
also 3/5 of Team Taz fighting each other
I think it will be more between Hobbs and Wardlow for sure, after yesterday's Collision
Zero Hour: Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale VS Julia Hart (TBS Champion) & Skye Blue
I am so excited for this one!!!
I think it will be Kris and Willow, in my mind if it Julia and Skye Blue, I think Willow will possibly turn on Kris idk why
Zero Hour: 12 MAN TAG MATCH - Bang Bang Scissor Gang VS Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Private Party & Willie Mack
Come on it has to be Bang Bang Scissor Gang because they are Bang Bang Scissor Gang!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, what do you guys think?? Pls talk to me-

thought dump on danny/jack as a feud vs darby/jack being environmental storytelling for the elite 🐛
from the perspective of me, a darby enjoyer, not someone looking too in depth into danny and jack. other people are doing that. now darby and the elite have parted ways and danny has stepped in to go for the belt darby failed to take and is doing some compelling stuff with jack, I’m Ruminating on the summer darby had. (and tbh that I found his time with jack not very compelling at all, personally, but feel it was perfect for building to what is happening now)
as we know, it was always supposed to be eddie that set jack on fire. darby was a last moment replacement who 1. had a license to handle a flamethrower, 2. would be willing to do aita at a minutes notice, and 3. made sense to be inserted in the storyline (and practically, he’d just come off a lot of work and building trust with the bucks earlier in the year. matt finds him genuinely scary. so it was a good matchup to continue a successful relationship they’d already started). and it made perfect sense that darby would be pissed with everything the elite were doing; it goes against his entire work ethic. he had preexisting issues with the bucks and jack — he’d already talked about not liking jack in the pillars promos so it was an easy thread to pick back up (thought jungleboy was disingenuous and silly, thinks scapegoat is real but a jerk). the evp gimmick existed for sting, then the purpose of it evolved once he’d retired. it made sense that darby returned from his lost-without-sting-ready-to-die-got-injured hiatus and discovered what they were doing and started biting. the team aew vs team elite thing was haphazard for a lot of reasons, and it was running alongside the somewhat obvious secret plan for darby to get closer to bryan and eventually retire him for the world title (which we now know was cover for the actual secret plan with mox). but darby’s push to become seen as one of the faces of the company was supposed to happen this year, and it was supposed to go very differently. it was mutually beneficial that each time he was injured he could immediately return to a significant role. aita, b&g, and when he was finally ready to return to standard matches they were mostly still keeping things rolling wrt him getting that push (title shot, tags, teams — things he wasn’t previously known for) while being a good boy, unlike the stinky elite.
the majority of what happened between darby and jack was in the context of aew vs elite. darby went after them all in turn, got his nose broken by the bucks, returned and humiliated them, talked shit about them. in a team or trio darby and jack tended to be matched, but it wasn’t until the bucks tried to hand the tnt to jack that darby (again injured, again returning with little to no build and needing a significant spot (wembley in sight! aaa!)) shifted focus from trying to take his baby aew from the elite to getting back his second baby, his special significant belt that deserved better. the narrowing down to darby vs jack for the tnt still involved the elite (literally — it was matt he had to target to get the match. ftr/darby vs the elite was the show before wembley and he pinned matt). what jack did with the belt was sick as hell, but otherwise the build to the match was a bit eh. darby’s interviews about it were eh, because the point was he just didn’t care that much about jack, this guy he already didn’t like and hey at least he’s being true to himself and who he is kinda sucks. the overarching point of darby being the one doing this was that he is the guy sacrificing everything; the elite never show up to work and never defend their titles while he’s out here doing the promo, doing all 3 shows some weeks, and that’s genuine to his character.
I’ve made my feelings about the wembley match very clear before, but regardless of the match content the purpose was always going to be that jack retained so the young bucks could try to burn darby alive and then have the fear of god put in them by sting returning to Get Them. to the end darby’s involvement in all of this was about the entire elite, that full circle moment with them trying to do to him what he did to jack, and the even wider full circle of sting. when it ended it ended, darby said he wasn’t all that bothered about losing his first coffin match and was eager to start work with mox and ofc jack quickly went into his own new thing with bryan and then defending the tnt.
SO the point of all this is that personally I could never get all that interested in what darby and jack were doing, their energies felt mismatched. darby’s apathy about him and distraction of wanting aew from the elite + the bucks constantly sticking their noses (and reeboks, and petrol cans) in trying to stop him from making himself a big problem for them. he didn’t really need anything with jack in the way danny does, jack was just a part of a larger problem. what danny is doing with jack feels explosive and horny, genuine and from somewhere deeply personal, in a way that what darby was doing just didn’t. darby didn’t need the tnt, he’s already way past that giving him any validation, he just wanted it to be taken from someone he deemed undeserving. darby was having his own little moment in that this was constantly pushing him, making him a team player, building the concept of team aew and a company that needed saving (again, now knowing that he knew what mox was soon planning to do and that him being clearly on a side and the evps being weak lazy villains was going to matter). danny’s issue with jack is far more direct, personal and urgent, and it’s just about starting to give him a crisis now he’s really getting into it. and what darby did do for jack was establish all of the reasons danny hates him. darby did progressively ruder interviews about jack, he was almost entertained by how much of an asshole he thought jack was. darby had his own agenda that jack was a factor in but didn’t hate him like danny hates him, he hated the bosses he used to respect and the guy with his belt, who he was happy to giggle about not liking. he was intense about the elite situation as a whole and built them up for their lazy and arrogant behaviour while clearly on even footing with them, not like danny who has been fighting to be acknowledged. but in that darby was disparaging about jack, who then beat him (but sting was there, despite it all! sting had his back. jack and the bucks didn’t have each other’s backs in that moment, and as it’d turn out matt wouldn’t stay for the guy he saw as his son, who as it turned out was quickly flaking on the bucks and seeming like he could turn at any moment). everything danny is saying reflects criticism that jack has genuinely been receiving over the past months. darby did the setup for the evps being awful no-good bosses who never show up for anyone and leave it all to him, and he did the same with building jack up as the title holder that never did anything deserving and danny has been watching and come to viciously hate.
so tl;dr of this entire thought: of course there was immediate comparison between darby/jack and danny/jack, but darby and danny are on very different trajectories and needed very different things from their involvement. darby was there to draw out a narrative with the elite and look like the best boy and do some biting for enrichment, and now it’s all fallen apart danny is struggling with how much he’s willing to do outside of a fair fight to claw what he deserves from someone undeserving, and jack is getting a satisfying little chase out of it and has the Behaviours (and I’ll be interested to see where he goes next if danny wins and this ends jack’s ties with being elevated in the company)
#lifts my glasses. my god. had more to say than I expected lol#untagged bc I’m caught up on dynamite and just going aaa. don’t wanna bother anyone. just aaa thinks and thinks#blahblah

Double or Nothing preview
Kazuchika Okada & Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson & Jack Perry vs. Bryan Danielson & Darby Allin & Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler - This is billed as "anarchy in the arena," so basically all eight guys are just going to brawl all over the place until someone scores a pinfall or submission.
The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick) are founding members of the Elite, a faction that formed the nucleus of AEW when it debuted five years ago. On March 6, the Bucks fired Kenny Omega and suspended Adam Page from the Elite. Okada essentially took Kenny's place, and Perry joined the group when he helped the Bucks defeat FTR (Harwood and Wheeler) to for the AEW tag team title on April 21. The rebuilt Elite then beat up AEW head Tony Khan, and the Bucks have asserted their positions as executive vice-presidents to take over the promotion. Omega, who is also an EVP, tried to intervene, but he was also beaten up. So Kenny made this match from his hospital bed.
Danielson had a couple of big matches against Okada in the past year, but his actual role in the story depends on some inside baseball. It's kind of an open secret that, in real life, Tony Khan "demoted" the EVPs in early 2020, so the Bucks don't have the kind of authority they're abusing on-screen. Danielson, on the other hand, has been gaining influence behind the scenes ever since he joined the company in 2021, and fandom has made a meme out of reports that he's the guy who fines wrestlers for bad behavior. I don't know that the Bucks actually resent Danielson eclipsing their backstage political power, but that is the kind of intrigue they'd want to turn into a wrestling storyline.
Eddie Kingston was announced for the babyface team on May 8, but he was injured on May 11 and had to be withdrawn. Allin took his place on May 15, just weeks after breaking his foot and his nose. It's hard to believe he's 100%, but then again Danielson and Harwood have been heavily taped up lately themselves. That may make the match a trainwreck, but given the stip they are promising a trainwreck.
The Elite storyline is far from over, and I don't think any of these guys are going to be the ones to blow it off. I'm sure the match will be back-and-forth, but in the end the Elite are probably going to crush the good guys, in a way that ends the Bucks-FTR feud (for now) and maybe puts Allin back to heal up some more. I could see Danielson bringing in the Blackpool Combat Club to keep feuding with the Elite this summer, but the best way to kick that off would be if the Elite humiliate the babyfaces.
Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Mone - Willow won the AEW TBS title from Julia Hart on April 21; Mercedes (formerly Sasha Banks in WWE) had already issued a challenge to the winner for this show.
This is Mone's in-ring debut for AEW, and her first match anywhere since her last encounter with Nightingale, in May 2023. In that matchup, Mercedes was widely expected to win and become the first STRONG women's champion, but she slipped and fell from the top rope to the floor, suffering an ankle injury forced them to change the finish on the fly. The upset win was a huge boost for Willow, but a major setback for Mone's post-WWE run. When Mone finally debuted for AEW in March, she quickly set up the story that she thinks Willow might have intentionally caused the injury to sabotage Mone's career.
I'm sure the original plan was to promote Mone as a babyface. But everybody loves Willow too much to root against her, and Mercedes knows she can't accuse Willow of pushing her off the top rope without everyone seeing through that bullshit. So they've pivoted pretty smoothly to Mone as a cool heel (or an obnoxious babyface, take your pick). I'm not sure the rollout of Mone's debut has been done very well, but I definitely buy this match as one of the main events. I need to know who wins, and I don't just want to read it about after the show, so I gotta pay to see it. That's the name of the game.
I don't think anybody really wants WIllow's title reign to end at just five weeks, but I also don't think anybody really believes Mone should lose her first AEW match. This is the kind of match where I know Mercedes has to win, but she'll have me believing she can be pinned in every near-fall. Really looking forward to this.
Swerve Strickland vs. Christian Cage - Strickland is defending the AEW men's world title. If this was real, Cage probably wouldn't be the top-ranked contender, but he's mainly in this spot because the evil Young Bucks hand-picked a challenger to fuck with Swerve. Even with this not being real, 50-year-old Cage is an unlikely choice to put in the world title picture, especially so soon after Adam Copeland conclusively defeated him in the blowoff match of their feud. The vibe of this match is that they're feeding a weak challenger to Strickland now, so they can save the bigger matchups for later in his title reign.
Nevertheless, I think everybody in the feud has done a great job making this feel more important than it probably is. Christian really pulled the story together by bringing up the time both he and Strickland were feuding with Darby Allin and Nick Wayne. So he's pissed that Strickland lost when they teamed up against Allin and Wayne on August 31, but since Nick later switched sides to align with Cage, he's also mad that Swerve beat up his "son" on August 2. All at once it makes sense Christian wants this match, and that he's a giant hypocrite at the same time.
I don't think there's any scenario where Christian walks out with the world title. Strickland is clearly a big project for AEW and he's not going to lose anytime soon. But if anyone knows how to make you think he's going to steal a win in a fuck finish, it's Christian Cage. So this should be interesting, even if it's obvious the champ has to retain.
Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita - Moxley is the IWGP world champion, but the title isn't at stake in this match. AEW bills this as a "title eliminator" match, which means if Takeshita wins, he'll be guaranteed a title shot in the future. I assume they're mainly doing this because Moxley is already booked for a title defense in Osaka on June 9, and New Japan doesn't like to do the whole "if he's still champion by then" stuff.
For weeks they've been acting like the Don Callis Family is targeting the Blackpool Combat Club, but I don't get the impression that it's building to this moment. I'm not sure what the destination really is, though. Unless Callis decides to send Will Ospreay after Moxley, Takeshita is the last card he has left to play. It might be interesting if Takeshita wins here to set up a title match that he has to lose later. But I don't think AEW has ever done one of these eliminator matches where the champion didn't win. I'm picking Mox.
Roderick Strong vs. Will Ospreay - Ospreay won a "casino gauntlet" on April 24 to earn a shot at Strong's AEW international title. This ought to be great, but I can't pretend Strong is on Ospreay's level. He's had a good run trying to look like Ned Flanders, but it's not so good that they're going to put him over Will. Meanwhile, the saga of Will slowly figuring out that the Don Callis Family doesn't have his best interests at heart is slowly progressing, and giving him a championship would probably add some sizzle to that. So I'm thinking we get a title change here.
Toni Storm vs. Serena Deeb - Deeb is challenging for the AEW women's world title. I like Serena, and I like portraying a woman as a no-frills technical wrestler like Dean Malenko. But this story has been ice-cold, and Deeb's promo work hasn't helped much. It feels like they're turning Storm face, although that may just be because the crowd isn't really behind Deeb. This is clearly just a placeholder feud until Storm can move on to Saraya, or whoever else they have in mind. Champ retains.
Adam Copeland vs. Malakai Black - Copeland will defend the AEW TNT championship in a barbed wire steel cage match. Basically the ring will be surrounded by chain-link fencing, and I guess that will have barbed wire tangled in it. Sometimes cage matches can end when one participant escapes to the floor outside the ring, but I'm pretty sure this one will only be decided by pinfall or submission. Black has added the stipulation that if he wins, Copeland must "bend the knee" to the House of Black, whatever that entails.
Black sprayed black mist into Copeland's face on April 21. Most recipients of the mist start acting all dark and weird for a while. In extreme cases they turn heel like Julia Hart or Skye Blue, but we've seen Willow Nightingale overcome its sinister influence. Anyway Copeland has teased doing heelish things for the past month, but he's trying to stay focused on kicking Black's ass instead of becoming like him. I assume this match is meant to show that Copeland, who was part of a wrestling vampire coven in 1998, already had a very active dark side long before Malakai came along.
My gut says Copeland needs to retain, but I can't actually think of a reason why. I don't think he came to AEW for championships, so he's probably looking to put over somebody, and it might as well be Black. But I can't see him "bending the knee" without prolonging the storyline, so I guess we'll see.
Chris Jericho vs. HOOK vs. Katsuyori Shibata - Jericho is defending the FTW championship in a three-way, so the first man to score a pinfall or submission on either opponent will win the match and the title. Other than that, anything goes. The allure here is that Jericho is fucked because he could barely beat either of the good guys one-on-one, and now he has to fight both of them. But you already know what's going to happen: 1) the good guys clobber Jericho until they turn against one another, 2) Big Bill interferes, and Tony Schiavone acts like he forgot that's perfectly legal, 3) one of the babyfaces gets taken out, 4) Jericho steals a pin from the other one. I hate three-way matches.
Orange Cassidy vs. Trent Beretta - Beretta turned on Cassidy on April 3. Orange already beat Trent on May 8, but Trent cried foul and demanded a "straight wrestling match" to prevent Orange from using any underhanded tactics. Meanwhile, Don Callis has been watching this feud very closely, and acting as though Cassidy is already a member of the Don Callis Family. To me that suggests Trent will cheat to win, and reveal that he's the one joining Callis. That almost feels too obvious, so I keep wondering if they have some more inventive twist in store. But it makes no sense for Cassidy to join Callis, and I don't think they'd turn Beretta just to job him out to Orange.
Jay White & Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn vs. PAC & Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix - White's team unified the AEW and ROH trios titles last month, so now they're defending the belts. Between injuries and visa issues, this is the first time Death Triangle (Pac, Penta, and Fenix) have all been on the same team since they lost the AEW trios title in January 2023. The "story" is that the Bang Bang Gang was bothering Pac but he didn't care, and then suddenly he started caring and remembered he has two friends. Anyway, the match should be good, but I don't see White and the Gunns dropping the title anytime soon.
Thunder Rosa vs. Deonna Purrazzo - This is scheduled for the pre-show. These two were chasing Toni Storm for the AEW women's world title, but by now they've both lost their title matches and they're more concerned with fighting each other. I'm not sure how this plays out because you'd think the winner would be back in contention for Toni's title, but it's too soon for either of them to get a rematch. Maybe the winner can chase the TBS belt? Anyway, it's tough to pick a winner but I'll go with Deonna.
Max Caster & Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn vs. Brian Cage & Toa Liona & Bishop Kaun - Another pre-show match. The Acclaimed and Billy are trying to refocus on the tag division after losing their trios title. Cage's team recently turned on Swerve Strickland, who quickly destroyed all their asses, so they really need to regain some momentum. So it feels like Billy should lose here to really knock them out of trios contention and let Caster and Bowens focus on chasing the tag title. But it's possible Cage and the Gates of Agony have further to fall before they climb out of their hole. So I could see this going either way, but if you have to put money on it, bet on the Acclaimed.

Call me a dreamer, naive, unrealistic, but this Team AEW vs Team Elite thing could've and should've been way huger than it is.
The slow build from The Bucks starting to call themselves "The EVPs" to their all-out takeover by driving Tony Khan and taking him out of action, all that was good, it felt like an event you can call back to. After that though it's basically felt like another Bucks/FTR feud with a couple of extra peeps on either side. This could've been a civil war. Everyone takes a side, tensions get high and they only get higher, people switch sides, stables see infighting, and the women's roster could finally get a turn to participate in something even.
This could be a tentpole event that AEW could look back at for years if they do this right. Essentially, they could do the Invasion storyline but good. I know AEW doesn't like to leave its comfort zone in terms of feuds and likes to rely on match quality but if they want something on the Wikipedia page other than COVID and "the CM Punk incident" this could be their chance to make something memorable and start building a history 'cause after 5 years this whole "new kids starting a revolution" thing is really losing momentum.
Anyway here's a free storyline idea:
Chris Jericho dies (kayfabe (or not, I'm impartial)) and there are like 8 suspects and it's a murder mystery.

Context
In all heel scenarios, Cody uses the EVP card and his influence with Tony to revoke the condition that he could never challenge for the world title. In the babyface scenarios, he fights and claws until the point where he has to ask Tony to revoke it, this particularly would happen in the hypothetical feud with MJF.
It might be wishful thinking, but I truly believe that had Cody stayed, there wouldn't have been any issues with Punk. He could've been what could've kept Punk in check and quelled any and all issues between Punk and the Elite and honestly a better environment backstage regardless of any issues.

Fight for the Fallen Predictions
Tonight is Fight for the Fallen. I’m excited even though it has the weakest build up of any AEW pay per view so far. I mean almost half of the matches were just announced this week. I still think it will be a good show. Let’s do this!
Britt Baker & Riho vs. Shoko Nakajima & Bea Priestley
This should be a good match. We get the debut of Bea Priestley & a new Joshi with Shoko Nakajima (I’ve actually have seen a match of hers). I do think that Britt Baker & Riho will win. They have a bit of a winning streak going and I made the mistake of betting against Riho last time.
Winners: Britt Baker & Riho
Sonny Kiss vs. Peter Avalon w/ Leva Bates
You know what, I actually like the Librarians. I might make a post detailing why, but I will say people misunderstand the gimmick. The gimmick isn’t that they’re Librarians it’s that they’re wrestlers with stupid gimmicks. I’m actually interested in where the story will go next. Will Leva screw over Peter as retaliation for him costing her match with Allie? Will Leva actually start liking Peter? Will Peter forget about Leva and run off with Sonny? The possibilities are endless. I don’t see the either of the Librarians picking up any wins right now while they have the gimmick (which I think was meant to be temporary from the beginning).
Winner: Sonny Kiss
Jimmy Havoc, Darby Allin & Joey Janela vs. MJF, Sammy Guevara & Shawn Spears
This is one of the more strangely set up matches. On surface it’s the classic team Babyface vs Team Heel match, but the set up is confusing. On Road to Fight for the Fallen episode 2, MJF confronted Shawn Spears because of Shawn’s attack on Cody. It’s clear that MJF hates Shawn Spears, but later in the same episode this match is announced with no context. I thought context would be given on Being the Elite or Road to Fight For the Fallen Episode 3, but nope. I do think this will be an interesting match. MJF doesn’t want to work with Shawn Spears, but MJF also has a huge ego. Would he really throw a match? He probably wouldn’t but the inner conflict will probably cost them.
Winner: Jimmy Havoc, Darby Allin & Joey Janela
SCU vs. Lucha Bros
If this isn’t one of the better matches of the night, then I’ll be surprised. I think the win should go to the Lucha Bros. They have been part of two of the best matches in AEW so far, and a win would give them more credibility.
Winner: Lucha Bros
Brandi Rhodes vs. Allie
This is one of the better built up matches for Fight for the Fallen. Episode 2 of Road to Fight for the Fallen had Brandi talk about her past and how anxiety ruined opportunities for her. It was touching and relatable. I’ve seen many people say that Brandi isn’t a good wrestler and I really want her to prove them wrong. I don't think she’s going to pick up the win though.
Winner: Allie
Dark Order vs. Jack Evans & Angelico vs. Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy
This should be a fun match. We get the AEW wrestling debut of The Dark Order and we get to see how Luchasaurus & Jungle Boy work as a tag team. The winner of the match is very clear. The Dark Order has been feuding with The Best Friends since Double or Nothing so it’s logical that they pick up the win. I would be really surprised if they didn’t.
Winner: Dark Order
Hangman Adam Page vs. Kip Sabian
I like what they did with the match. Kip Sabian won the first singles match in AEW & the winner of the fatal four way at Fyter Fest got the chance to wrestle him. It made it seem like Kip Sabian beating Sammy Guevara meant something. I do think Hangman Page is going to win. He’s the up and coming babyface who will face the established heel Chris Jericho at All Out for the AEW Championship. I think he needs to keep a winning streak before the championship match.
Winner: Adam Page
Kenny Omega vs Cima
This match will probably be very good. I think Kenny will win, unless they want to push Cima. I do think Cima needs a bit of character development in AEW
Winner: Kenny Omega
The Young Bucks vs. Cody & Dustin Rhodes
Whoever wins this match, somebody will complain about the EVPs booking themselves to win matches. I’m surprised there was actually a bit of feud going on here. The Young Bucks have been continually mocking the “I want my Older Brother” speech on Being the Elite. Cody seems ok with this, Dustin not so much. It should be a very good match. I keep going back and forth on who’s going to win. *flips coin* Cody & Dustin Rhodes will win.
Winner: Cody & Dustin Rhodes

On Saturday, August 31, 2019, All Elite Wrestling presented the historic ALL OUT pay-per-view event from the sold out Sears Centre Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The play-by-play broadcast team for the main card was Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Goldenboy.
The preshow BUY IN opened with a Casino Battle Royale, with the winner competing for the AEW Women’s title on October 2 in Washington, DC, at the Capital One Arena (being televised on on TNT). There were 21 competitors vying for a shot at that title, including: Leva Bates, Faby Apache, Nyla Rose, Shelondra, Priscilla Kelly, Penelope Ford, Shazza McKenzie, Sadie Gibbs, Dr. Britt Baker, Big Swole, Brandi Rhodes, Awesome Kong, Bea Priestly, Tenille Dashwood, Ivelisse, Allie, Nicole Savoy, Teal Piper, Jazz, ODB, and Mercedes Martinez. The final two wrestlers in the match were Nyla Rose and Dr. Britt Baker. With some interference from Bea Priestly, Rose eliminated Baker.
Your winner: Nyla Rose
Showing off the depth of the tag team division, Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) faced the party crashing team of Jack Evans and Angelico. There were plenty of innovative tag team maneuverers here, with Jack Evans in particular putting on a clinic. All parties must come to an end eventually, and after their dynamic finisher, Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy showed their opponents why no one throws a party quite like them.
Your winners: Private Party
The opener for ALL OUT saw SCU (Christopher Daniels, Scorpio Sky, and Frankie Kazarian) step back into time to face the Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) and Marko Stunt. SoCal Uncensored have decades and decades of tag team knowledge under their belts, and despite showing lots of youthful fire, Jungle Boy got lost in the proverbial weeds once SCU hit the Best Meltzer Ever on him.
Your winners: SoCal Uncensored
Originally scheduled as Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley, “the Bastard” Pac would step up to Omega on short notice to replace Moxley (who was out of action with MRSA). This was a dream match for pro wrestling fans, with two of the greatest of their era, Omega and Pac stepping into the ring to face off for the first time ever. This is a match that can only be made in AEW, and it was loaded with intriguing and breathtaking physicality. Omega and Pac are perfect opponents for one another, with each being very well versed in each other’s playbooks. Tonight, Pac pulled out the victory, seemingly out of nowhere when Omega passed out after Pac locked on the Brutalizer submission.
Your winner: Pac
The Cracker Barrel Clash served up the buffet of brutality that fans might expect from a three-way match involving Joey Janela, Darby Allin and Jimmy Havoc. This match was violent and a blast to watch (but certainly quite painful for the participants, with their devil-may-care attitudes). Plunder in this match included a skateboard loaded with thumbtacks, actual barrels from Cracker Barrel, a tray of delicious Cracker Barrel biscuits, and a staple gun. These athletes were relentless, with a total disregard for their own wellbeing to earn the victory. Havoc eventually nailed a Rainmaker on Janela through a barrel, and the meal of mayhem was over.
Your winner: Jimmy Havoc
In a match with the winner receiving a first round bye in AEW Tag Team Title tournament (coming up on TNT this fall), the Dark Order (Evil Uno and Stu Grayson) battled the Best Friends (Chuck Taylor, and Sue’s favorite son, Trent). The Dark Order had their small army of minions with them, and eventually, being outnumbered would take its toll on the Best Friends. The Dark Order hit the Fatality finisher on Chuck Taylor to end the match and earn the first round bye. To help even up the odds, Orange Cassidy, the “freshly squeezed” friend of Chuckie T. and Trent, made a surprise run-in, hitting a tope suicida on the Dark Order.
Your winners: The Dark Order
Joshi enthusiasts were treated next to Riho wrestling Hikaru Shida, with the winner of this match scheduled to face Nyla Rose for the AEW Women’s Championship during AEW’s TV debut on TNT on October 2nd. Riho and Shida traded moves and counters. It was an evenly matched contest with plenty of back and forth offense, and they had the fans in the palms of their hands. Ultimately, Riho would score the pin on Shida after applying head scissors.
Your winner: Riho
Perhaps the most personal bout on the ALL OUT card was next, with Cody (joined by MJF in his corner), taking on former friend Shawn Spears (with Tully Blanchard serving as his advisor). The Nightmare Family (Brandi Rhodes, Diamond Dallas Page, MJF, and Pharaoh the dog) accompanied Cody down the ramp, making a spectacular entrance. Cody’s gear was fashioned after the mirror universe Captain Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation, and it was apropos, because Cody showed he was the captain of this ship by the end of this turbulent voyage. With Blanchard’s aid, Spears whipped Cody with a belt. MJF got involved and tried to neutralize the legendary Tully Blanchard, but Spears got to the preoccupied MJF, leaving Cody to fend for himself. A familiar face joined the fracas, with Arn Anderson making a surprise run-in to deliver his trademarked spinebuster. With the shift in momentum, Cody hit the CrossRhodes on Spears for the victory.
Your winner: Cody
The Escalera de la Muerte ladder match for the AAA Tag Team Championship was on deck next, with Fenix and Pentagon, the Lucha Bros., facing Matt and Nick Jackson, the Young Bucks, to put an exclamation point at the end of this feud. These two brilliant tag teams have been battling all year in a storied rivalry. This match was every bit as breathtaking as you might expect from two of the all time best teams in the sport of pro wrestling. It truly defied the laws of physics, and no amount of words will be able to do justice to the daredevil antics put on display. As noted by Excalibur, this was the sixth match between these teams in 2019. If you want to see how far the art of tag team wrestling has evolved, this match is cutting edge and one that will be remembered by fans of the sport for many years to come. Really, this match could have gone either way, as the balance of who had the edge between the Bucks and the Lucha Bros. often shifted in less than a nanosecond. After executing their Zero Fear finisher, Fenix and Pentagon would pull off the victory. Post match, two masked men made their presence felt, revealing themselves as Ortiz and Santana.
Your winners: The Lucha Bros.
The main event of the night was a match between Chris Jericho and Hangman Adam Page, and the victor would be crowned the first AEW World Champion. Page made an entrance riding a horse, which was a sight to behold. Page’s family was in attendance, but Chris Jericho didn’t see anything personal about this; to him it was strictly business, and he believes the success of AEW as a business is a direct result of his involvement with the company. Jericho wanted the belt so he could get the thank you from AEW brass and EVPs that he feels he deserves. Page showed a ton of heart and fire, but Jericho seemed unstoppable on his quest. The crowd, at times, was split, a sure sign of respect for both combatants, and it added to the big fight atmosphere and energy of this historic bout. There’s no arguing with Jericho’s Judas Effect back elbow, which rocked Page out of nowhere.
Your winner and the first AEW World Champion: Chris Jericho.
