Though the New York State Thruway wasn’t actually closed, the roads surrounding Bethel, New York became gridlocked for almost 20 miles in mid-August 1969 as people arrived for the Woodstock Music and Arts Fair. The festival, which began on Friday, August 15, drew an estimated 400,000 to 500,000 attendees—vastly more than the crowd of 50,000 that the organizers had anticipated. Many of them simply left their vehicles on the clogged rural roads and walked the rest of the way.

I'm definitely still an amateur birder bc I feel like I'm such a beginner compared to many people I meet. but I have learned so much!! my memory is getting rlly good when it comes to bird identification- I'm in a few local bird photography groups and it makes me so happy when I see a migratory bird that's stopped in my state and immediately know it's name without having to look it up (and then I look it up to double check and feel very vindicated when I'm right!!). still much to learn but that's the fun of it! gradually increasing my knowledge! I ran into an older retiree birder a while ago and he said that I'll be at the top of my class when I get to be his age!!

anyone that has been signed off from work for medical reasons related to mental health reasons and/or neurodivergence - did you have to make the choice to do it after it was recommended by your health professional and if you did how did you allow yourself to go through with it?

And then once you were signed off did you feel guilty or relieved and were you worried about going back?
