What I don't get is, how did Ferrari think that the solution to the whole driver hierarchy problem was to get the most decorated and successful F1 driver? Like how are you gonna tackle that problem even more now? Who's gonna be the first driver now? The seven time wdc or the driver that still needs to win a wdc?

This is what happens when Charles tries to be assertive... 💀
🎥: Charles Leclerc's on-board (2023 Spanish Grand Prix)
Xavi: “Box this lap for hards.” Charles: “NO, no, no, let’s go for soft, guys!” Xavi: “Copy that.” Charles: “Box anyway?” Xavi: “Yes, box now, box.” Charles: “Box.” Xavi: “We are doing hards. We are doing hards."

canadian grand prix (derogatory)
I joke, mostly. As a tifoso I hated every second of that. as a fan of the sport? That race was fucking BRILLIANT.
So, let's start with Ferrari. I think that was the price we had to pay for Monaco. Charles was so fast there that the curse took two weeks to catch up with him! Seriously, though, this man's luck needs to be studied. At least it wasn't a new power unit... small mercies. He was losing half a second on the straights, adding to around 1.2-1.5 seconds over the course of a lap. Then the strategy gamble... bro what the hell was that. Being lapped by the front runners... I had my head in my hands. Sainz also sustained damage in the opening stages from contact (I don't know with who) and was losing downforce. Carlos didn't even say it himself, but Fred did, so that's how you know it's real! So yeah. Ferrari had a shocker of a weekend. Sainz should have bought home points, too. The damage was not an excuse for that off.
Alex Albon. Oh my god. That double overtake on Tsunoda and Leclerc was poetry in motion. He was driving so well today, a shame that he got taken out through no fault of his own, especially when he was on for points.
Max Verstappen made the difference for that win. The Red Bull was NOT the fastest car this weekend - both Mercedes and McLaren were faster. He drove incredibly and there's a reason he's a triple world champion, and there's a reason why he was so dominant last season.
Norris and Russell... Norris underdelivered in quali and paid the price, then made mistakes in the race to lose his shot at the lead. McLaren strategy department and luck also played a factor, I'll admit. Russell messed up big time, multiple times, allowing Max and Lando to get past him. Then subtly (sort of) blaming Lewis for fighting him as for costing him P2... GEORGE YOU STARTED ON POLE AND HE STARTED P7 WHY WERE U THERE.
As a side note, Lewis paid the price for a poor qualifying session, and I really want to see him improve this rapidly since next year he will be against a much better qualifier than GR63 in the form of Charles Leclerc, whose one-lap pace is arguably one of the best on the grid right now, even if the sf-24 isn't allowing him to show it so far. And even though I'm a Charles fan, I want a good fight!
That being said. I'm not a huge fan of conspiracy theories i.e. sabotaging drivers, but. This weekend was very, very strange on Mercedes' part. From FP3, where Lewis dunked about half a second on George, to quali, where Lewis was behind considerably and couldn't seem to make it up. He then said post-race his tyre temps were repeatedly low coming out of the garage (tyre blanket issue), and that's WEIRD. That last double stack putting Lewis onto Hards and GR onto mediums --- also weird! Lewis said after he would rather have not pitted if he knew they'd put mediums onto GR directly behind as his current set were feeling fine. I don't think he had a spare set of new mediums, hence the hards, but- yeah. That tyre offset handed GR the podium at the end, even though it was a pretty cool looking overtake.
KMAG AND HULK AT THE BEGINNING ON THE FULL WETS?? I thought for a hot sec the haas would podium. Then they fucked Kmag's pitstop. Just Haas things!
Sargeant, Tsunoda and Sainz all had avoidable mistakes that cost them points. Sainz in particular, Tsunoda had some braking issues, potentially (?). Daniel points! Yippee!
Daniel woke up and remembered he was a racing driver after being slandered on sky sports by JV. Perez forgot he was a racing driver after he signed his contract extension. Red Bull things!
Perez also had a 3 place grid penalty and RBR was fined 25k for driving back to the pits unsafely with that fucked up rear wing. As they should! It was dangerous! Barcelona's another track where overtaking could potentially be difficult so that might be costly, even more so if Perez can't sort his quali pace out.
Will be interesting to see how things shake up in the European triple header, and whether Mercedes is legitimately fast or if this was just a weird race. I think they benefitted from ferrari and RBR being off their game.
Anyways. Canada was a race that did not exist. It did not happen. Thanks !!

We really need Charles qualifying higher
Monza and now Singapore he is faster in the race, he manages it better.
Tumblr media
Sadly seeing what Charles has been saying about the car over the past few months, and even as recently as the past few weeks (during Ferrari's alleged miraculous recovery) I think this season is a write-off. For anyone unaware of any deeper context and just looking at the results/standings the optics are going to favour Carlos—as much as, or even worse than the aftermath of 2021.
Sure, it would be nice to see him be the one to take pole, but we've reached a point where he's trying to extract as much as he can out of a car that's fighting against him, vs. Carlos who, by own admission, finally for once feels "at one" with the car. Now, the margin is impressively small if you consider that this is Carlos at his peak comfort/ability and Charles is out of his element with this car, but I think he's already kind of accepted that this is the best he can with what he's been given this year. Remember the criticism he got when he was accused of over-driving the car (derogatory) and occasionally making mistakes or crashing in the early parts of the year to secure those poles and top positions that otherwise were out of their reach. Again in Singapore, a small mistake that cost him on that final run. I think unfortunately this is the maximum he can do with this car without risking a crash. I mean at one point during the race, probably feeling frustrated, he pointedly said he's working on "keeping it out of the wall."
But also the cynical part of me is like... so, he starts on pole. What does it change? Under normal circumstances Max and/or Checo are swarming him within minutes because of the car performance gap. And even taking RB out of the equation and just looking at Ferrari and their track record... how many times have they botched his strategy or dithered with team orders when he started from pole? I can't remember the last time Charles just... cruised to the win from start to finish, trouble-free, given plenty of leeway, like Carlos did. Australia 2022, probably. 😵‍💫

Being real about all the rbr Charles gossip. Charles wants a championship and yeah maybe Ferrari is fucking it up strategy and car wise but being in the same team as max is not going to help him achieve that either, as good friends as they are, they are also very competitive and max is rbr’s driver 1 and Charles cannot expect a wdc as driver 2 in any team. In Ferrari they say they don’t do driver 1 and 2 but we know Charles is Ferraris horse and there are not any driver 1 seats available in any of the good teams so I’m guessing the best choice for Charles is Ferrari (derogatory)

I'm not a Sainz hater. I don't hate any of them because they are just people doing their jobs and they are so far removed from me and all of us (everything F1 shows us is a PR stunt). But I really do love a lot of them, even if a lot of what we are shown of these drivers is filtered. I love Verstappen, I love Colapinto, I love Russell. And my favorite has always, always been LeClerc because I think he is a brilliant driver. He has been a solid driver since he started at Ferrari, even when he's been given a shit car and even shittier strategy. He is fighting for the vice championship right now and WCC, and honestly? If I was in his shoes I'd be pissed as hell too. He had an AMAZING start at yesterday's race and had the chance to make poll but because of his team and teammate's actions he couldn't make it. What Sainz did makes sense for him, yes, maybe, because he's leaving Ferrari. But he's still at Ferrari now. The opportunity for LeClerc to get second in the WDC (which is a pretty fucking big deal) would be amazing for Ferrari and for all those involved, including Sainz. Yes, he's leaving the team. But wouldn't it be better to go out with his team on a high? I think the switching opinions and everything makes this sport really complicated and the online community really shit sometimes. People hated Verstappen for the exact. same. thing. Leclerc did last night: calling out his teammates, calling out the team, calling out the car, being a PR nightmare...and now all those people are posting "M4x" and saying he's the next GOAT. All I'm saying is that I think that Charles didn't do anything that we haven't seen of drivers before. All these guys have an attitude (save for Piastri, maybe, that guy has a cool head on him). All of them want to do their best and get frustrated when they get undermined in doing that. LeClerc has been Ferrari's golden boy for years, championing the team time and time again even when they continually screw him over. Everyone has a breaking point. And if I was jet lagged, adrenaline high, tired, had not gained any positions, narrowly missed poll, suffered through bad Ferrari strategy all year, AND had my teammate ignore team orders when I was the one fighting for vice championship, not him? Yeah. I'd snap too. Honestly, maybe it was time. Maybe Charles anger towards Ferrari is not as misplaced as it seems---I mean, Sainz got screwed over by them too, did he not?
Also, I'm sorry. But the whole debate about the "Tell him in Spanish" thing everywhere is absolutely ridiculous. Carlos Sainz is from Spain and speaks Spanish and is also white. That was not racist; it was just fucking hilarious. Like the level of bitchiness LeClerc has is what I aspire to have. No one has any problems with people making fun of Charles for his English or for derogatory comments about the French. So just. Take it for what it is: a twenty-seven year old being a diva, and enjoy the drama.
so let me this straight, charles leclerc cannot, absolutely, for no reason, lash out ONE time at his team after being constantly screwed over by them, but another driver’s family member can like a degrading tweets about him and it’s all fine? we’re all supposed to forget about that and act like it never happened? fuck that honestly.
charles has always played the team game, always. singapore, australia, mexico, hell even japan because he’s supposed to have faith that the team and his teammate will follow through on what they discussed before hand. they are fighting for a wcc, personal results (getting one over on your teammate) matter less than team results. what was a potential p2-p3 for the team was ruined by a single decision one person made. he made the overtake, overtook verstappen but then couldn’t break the drs train and fucked over the teams overall results.
every single time charles has had the opportunity to fight against his teammate for the win THIS SEASON he’s been told to hold back. there were actual complaints in mexico from his teammate when there was a NINE SECOND gap. there was an agreement this weekend that the team came to that BOTH drivers were aware of. one driver was going to, assumably charles, get priority, over his teammate and his teammate disobeyed those orders. this isn’t the first time it’s happened, but it probably is the last considering his teammate is leaving at the end of the season. one can hope that after today charles won’t take anymore of this bullshit.
it’s hypocrisy, plain and simple. it’s hypocrisy from sainz and it’s hypocrisy from his teammates fans. mind you these are the same fans who threw a tantrum over arthur leclerc ALLEGEDLY driving car 55 in abu dhabi for fp1. they were calling it nepotism as if the call isn’t coming from inside the house. the constant hypocrisy from the other driver and his fans is what makes me glad he’s leaving the team. good fucking riddance.
if you ever, and i mean ever want to question why mercedes or red bull didn’t sign sainz it’s because of this. his actions today, and through out the season alone, have showed that no, he is NOT a team player despite whatever narrative he tried to push. he is only a team player when it is convenient to him, and even then he still find some shit to complain about.

As i have mentioned countless times before, that there is nothing wrong with Charles putting out his side of things, but it's the way he did it. The comment about it being his home race and career standing was rude and unnecessary. I personally think that it would be incorrect to pass off such rude and disrespectful behaviour as speaking his mind and letting go of the pr training. This isn't about charles for me, i admire him as a driver, but lashing out Carlos' expense and derogatory remarks are nor the way to go about it.
As far as Carlos not being a good teammate and being uncooperative is concerned, having seen Charles prioritise himself and ferrari's constant preferrential towards him I'm not surprised that others chose to come after Carlos as if charles hasn't done the same, although it often isn't required since ferrari's strategies prioritise him. But when charles does it to win it's justified and just racing, but when Carlos does it, he's a bad teammate and doesn't deserve the seat. It's just as frustrating to see Charles' "whiny" behaviour. When Carlos says anything it's termed as whining. But when Charles does the same it's him standing up for himself. I might be wrong, but what i feel is that lecfosi is so desperate for a c16 WDC that they're using this as way to project agression and that hunger, that seems to be missing. They want Charles to be ruthless and have that hunger to win similar to verstappen and it's just not happening. Again i might be wrong.
Since, you truly side with Fred and his statements, i hope you're aware of his statement regarding what seemed like a damage to the front wing, which was clarified as non-existent and he himself stated that what Charles said in the interview is entirely incorrect.
I think that Carlos' emotions are justified. He expressed his surprise when he learnt that his contract was being discontinued. Since when is that playing the victim? What do you want him to do? What if Charles had been in his place? Would you have said the same about him? This what i wanted to highlight, this blatant bashing of Carlos, when he makes human responses. "Whiny', "victim"? Why? What is he supposed to do? Say nothing? When has he EVER, said something disrespectful, or mean or Hurtful about Charles? Then why does everyone CRITICIZE and pick apart everything he does and/or says.
If Charles was so unhappy, which is justified, he could've said it without phrasing it the way he did. If carlos would have said something like that people would've literally RAGED against him.
carlos saying its been too many times charles has complained after a race. girl first of all, the call is coming from inside the house. the pot is calling the kettle black. second of all, he doesn’t complain enough. he should have ripped ur ass to shreds ages ago 😭😭😭
it's incredible how dedicated that man is to contributing to his own joblessness... much as i want to see williams suffer, i need james taking note of this and running tf away

why is it that ferrari can afford to ask charles questions about their every strategy move and listen to his answer, but not during the very last lap where the gap between his car and alonso’s was very much not ideal for a pit stop??
you’re not just gambling with his position but his points as well. how do they expect for him to close the gap between max and himself when they fuck his races up like that??
